My fiery nature is sometimes provoked, other times, I appear in a cloak. You believe, I am a season. I can burst into flames at any given reason. I am a life of golden fire, I know you do not desire. You cringe at my summer flare ups already making yourself upset to my potential presence. You fear me! Yet, I am warmth. 1) Pale Waves - Television Romance

This was a random YT discovery and am so into it. It's such an cute song and their front woman is so adorable. There's something about it that sounds so nostalgic to me and I think that's why I love it so much. Like it sounds like something out of the 2000's. I'm definitely am gonna check out more from them.

2) IAMFIRE - Beamer

I came across this song through spaceuntravel's YT channel and was shocked to hear sludge/stoner metal on their channel. Most of the stuff they post is alternative metal, nu metal and hard rock bands, so hearing this was a pleasant surprise. I really dig this track and the overall vibe of it.

3) Butcher Babies - Headspin

This is such a fun song. I'm so hyped for Lilith and can't wait to give it a listen. So far it sounds like a bit more of a progressive direction, but still keeping true to their thrash roots. Even though this song is a bit softer, it's still a great jam. Also the video is wonderful and threw me off that it apparently stars two porn stars, but then again, Heidi and Carla worked with Play Boy in the past, so they probably got some connections.

4) Sharon Needles - Battle Axe

Sharon is back with a new single and this is a fun one. It's not my favorite, but it's catchy enough for it to become an obsession of mine. I don't think any of her music will ever compare to the works of PG-13, but it's still great to hear good tunes from her. And I LOVE Phi Phi's cameo in the video.

5) Ebony Ark - If Only

I finally decided to check out more from them and I instantly got obsessed with this song. It's such a great symphonic prog-power track. It's so catchy and the bridge is absolutely beautiful. Beatriz has such a beautiful and strong voice. It's a bummer they're no longer together, but hopefully Beatriz will pop back up sometime soon.

6) The Longing - How Do You Know

I discovered this band through Facebook a while back and have been digging a lot of their music so far. It's strange to me that I've found a symphonic-ish gothic metal band from the States that I actually enjoy (a lot of symphonic metal bands from the States don't really appeal to me). The singer's "acting" in the bridge is very odd, but the song itself is what's amazing.

7) Vvon Dogma I - Communion

Chaoth's new project has finally released its debut single and it's wonderful. It's far from being an obsurdly chaotic masterpiece that was Unexpect, but it's still amazing nonetheless. It's a bit avant-garde, but more structured. The blending of dubstep and an atmospheric voice with the djenty instrumentals gives the music such a cool and interesting vibe. By the way, Chaoth's voice is wonderful and his bass solos are still beautiful as always (as they should, since it has nine strings).

8) Akoma - Change of Propensity

I got around to listening to Revangels and this is definitely my favorite off the album. So powerful, dramatic and beautiful. I just wish someone would post the lyrics somewhere, because I REALLY want to do a vocal cover of it. The chorus is just so intense and full of so much raw power that it's absolutely breathtakingly beautiful.

9) Vuur - Freedom ~ Rio

Of all the singles they've dropped, this one is the prettiest. Anekke really gets into her higher register with this track. It's such a beautiful and uplifting song. I can really see this one being not only a fan favorite, but also a great song to hear live.

10) Climatic Terra - Misery feat. Ines Vera-Ortiz (ex-Lumine Criptica)

I came across this song when checking to see what all projects Ines has been featured on over the years. This is such a great and beautiful power metal track. I really hope she joins a band again soon and releases a full length album with them. She has such a gorgeous voice and I'd love to hear some new material from her.

11) Empyrean Throne - Chaosborne

The title track of Empyrean Throne's debut album is absolutely epic. After listening to Chaosborne, it's easy to say that these guys are heavily influenced by Dimmu Borgir and I love it. This song is such a ballbuster and their front man shows off the more beautiful side of his cleans on this track. I highly recommend you guys to check this band out.

12) From the Arc - I Swear

Another band I discovered through spaceuntravel, From the Arc are an alternative metal band. This track is such a great jam. Honeybee has such a lovely voice. It always makes me extremely happy to see black women in the metal scene. It reminds people that metal is for everyone and isn't just white people music. Definitely am gonna check out more from them.

13) Magion - Body's Betrayal

I watched an old interview that their front woman did and she mentioned that this was one of her favorites off their then new album to perform, so naturally I had to check it out. it's such a gorgeous and dramatic track. It's sad that they are no longer together, but at least Myrthe is still active in the metal scene with Scenario II.

14) St. Vincent - Los Ageless

I came across this song when I saw a gifset on tumblr made of clips from this song's video. The video is aesthetic goals af and the song itself is so much fun. It's rather catchy and wonderful to jam to. The video is so cool and pretty. Definitely am gonna check out more from them.

15) La-Ventura - Song for an Idiot

I rekindled my love for this track thanks to my Facebook memories. This band is so underrated and wonderful. Their front woman has such a great voice that's different to hear in the gothic metal scene. This song has such a great hook and the chorus is so powerful even though it's so simple.

16) Elliot Root - 10,000

I discovered this band when I went to Criminal Records (a record store in Atlanta) and saw their debut album, Conjure, for $2. The cover art got me intrigued, so I added this song to watch later so I could check them out when I got home. I instantly fell in love with it. I'm not the biggest fan of indie music, but this is gorgeous. So gorgeous that I went back less than a week later to pick up the album. Their front man has such a lovely voice and the instrumentals complement it very well. I highly recommend you guys to check this album out, it's amazing.

Epic live sentences part drei 🐣

-At the start of the live Dej says that his Internet connection is bad and then adds "Maybe I didn't pay my bills now" tako je dejane dosta je bilo zajebavanja na naš račun

- After looking @ the comments he asks why people are hiding behind pages with his name {those are called fan pages Dejan okay? Okay}

- Someone asked Salah or Šime? He said that those are two different men and then started describing Šime (his gay showed) saying: “Šime is.. Šime is.. With what can I compare Šime? *smiles* I don’t know. Šime is a god. He is in his own world and I’m somehow fitting in this world inside him. And we just get along together. And he is an amazing guy.” {shout out to Petra I copied this from you}

-After slurring upon his own sentences his brother comments on the live "your sentences are well formed"

-Then he tries to invite/call Šime into the live but does not succeed

-Oxlade comments and asks who his favourite teammate is and Dejan answers "Mo and Ox, that's my honest answer."

- Invites Ox into the live [Alex's 'bratee' is so cute, he's such a cutie]

- Tries calling Šime again at which he accepts and enters the live

- Meanwhile Davor and Iamrockfilius keep talking in the comments lmao

- Šime couldn't hear Dej well and here comes the Balkan swearing soul "jebem ti Internet više u pičku materinu" then says "no hearing needed, everything is already known" [ne treba se čuti sve se zna😏]

- "Who's better, Šime or Salah? Well, those are two different men. It's like comparing lamborghini and ferrari."

- Shows the TV in his room and adds "Everyone should have huge tvs so we can stream our lives so everyone sees what we do in the bedroom even when we are asleep. " (uhh okay Dej) and then says that it would be like a series of their ig lives

- What do you think about my hair? It grew nicely. Should I cut it again? *laughs* I'm joking, that was the mistake of the century . {we are glad you realised it let's never do that again}

- Turns the camera towards the wall where chopped wood can be seen and says: "Look I bought 10 meters of wood." at which Šime asks if he cut/chopped them himself

- Šime sends the smol chicken emoji and then adds did he start walking / did he arrive?

- How is the chicken raising going? Oh, I didn't tell you, someone DMed me a photo of a live chicken. They are holding a live chicken and saying AJ LAJK.

- [talking about bad internet connection] "Ne radi? Kako ne radi? Jel do mene ili tebe? O jebem ti mater u pičku." - It's not working? How is it not working? Is it me or you? Oh fuck your mother in the pussy.

- Dej asked him if he got his rockf shirt and Šime says no he didn't get it yet and Dej replies: "You didn't? How? Matija you are fired. Do you hear me? You just got fired on instagram live in front of 10 000 people. "

- Davor was also watching the live and then wrote in the comments IAMOTKAZ - IAMFIRED (cause Matija's insta username is IAMROCKFILIUS)

-Šime was eating pomegranate when Dej called him, Dej couldn't hear him well so Šime said he's gona write it in the comments and he just wrote "I am eating pomegranate."

- Somewhere near the end of the live Šime said he's going to go & eat 2-3 more pomegranates and Dej was obviously shook because of that & he said 2-3 more?! Are you crazy? You will spend the whole night on the toilette.

- Dejan telling Šime about the Mo or Šime questions and Šime saying "To je šalah". He literally made a pun because šala means joke it doesn't make sense on English but it was amazing 10/10

- Šime telling Dej to quiet down because his dogs are asleep [shows the dogs] and Dej starts yelling "GET UP, NO SLEEPING"

- Kombinacija čaj i šipak..to je šičaj. { Newflash za obojicu nije šipak nego je nar hvala i adio}

- Dej teases Šime about drinking tea and eating pomegranate and asks does he think that Messi does that [lmao poor Messi let him live!!] and I cannot recall who said it but one of them said "His pomegranate doesn't grow, it WALKS"

- Also Šime asked Dejan with whom was he in the room (when Šime wasn't there) and he answered I was alone, with who am I supposed to be?

- Šime was watching a football match and they start talking about for how long they're gonna play and Dejan said he's gonna play until his legs fall off and Šime added that he's going to play until his hips break (dok se kukovi ne odlome lmao iconic but not healthy)

- At the end of the live they said their goodbyes and our lovely oh so in love with his boyfriend Dejan says bye love, talk to you soon🐣

By the Spirits - I am Fire: Untamed traditionalism

Video Single

Ever since listening to “Watch the Stars (Autumn Equinox Celebration)” for the first time I’ve felt that there’s something special about Michał Krawczuk’s folk project. While it’s easy to find similarities with the sounds of projects like Death in June, the music of By the Spirits subtly sets itself apart. With visual aid from Łukasz Krawczyk in the first video single “I am Fire” for the LP We are Falling (to be released the 21th June this year), By the Spirits reaffirms this once again.

The video makes use of hand-held camerawork paired with a grainy black and white filter. Except for the beginning where a couple of trees seem to be edited into the shot with a sculptured stone Jesus in focus, the video simply cuts from one shot to the next. Thanks to tasteful execution, all these elements come together surprisingly well in captivating imagery of nature and spirituality. Musically the same fact is just as true and I would be surprised if the process involved much more than a well-placed microphone capturing the raw emotion, because when Krawczuk sings about fire, purification and being ‘lost between their worlds’ over frantic guitarwork and pounding percussion he has nothing to hide. 

Every aspect of “I am Fire” seems sincere and honest, visually it’s a testament to simple tools and their potential to craft powerful artistic expressions, while the music succeeds at simultaneously being untamed and traditional. All this comes together in a video single where By the Spirits draw on emotion and duality to effectively portray the beauty in the bleak. It feels like a glimpse into another world and when it ends one is left longing for more; thankfully more is yet to come with We are Falling. I look forward to it whole-heartedly.
