in other news i finally got my dream bookcase

Huh. I feel so stupid over how MUCH I love Trigun in general and Vash in particular. And, like, not even in a self deprecating way. I just think of him and I start to giggle or tear up, if anyone mentions my mobile background or my felted Vash, or the manga, or any other stuff I’ve surrounded myself by, I don’t brush it off, as I always have done, but start to tell them about it and have serious difficulty with stopping the outbursts. My husband literally asks “are you looking at Vash again” every time I smile at my phone (he’s correct most of the times).
I knew I had a tendency to hyperfixate on stuff, but this is something new for me.

First and foremost, Thea does NOT associate with the name Althea, thank you very much. Unless you’ve known her as a child like her mentor Varyn or best friend Aeran, calling them by that name will lead to your attempted stabbing, most likely non-fatally but it really depends on their mood. The less association with the Crane line she has, the better, and she frankly doesn’t want the memories of voices calling their name as a young one echoing in her mind.
Despite her harsh exterior and unrivaled snark, she’s particularly brittle inside. Her nightmares keep her from the depths of sleep with false memories of a massacre she escaped from, and one she didn’t. Her biting words and flippant attitude disguise a caring heart, one that gives up her last scrap of clothing to a young thief shivering in the cold and places their life at risk to uphold their moral code, blatantly refusing to give in to a crime lord that could end her life instantly through the power of relentless trolling.
Perhaps the thing she hides the most guiltily in the recesses of their heart is that they truly wish they’d been born with magic. While she doesn’t believe she’s defective, she longs for the ability to connect to the sea and the world around them the way everyone else does.
Good luck with getting her to admit that though.
