It is an ask and answer though, really. "Why did I hesitate?" followed by not finishing off Yuri as soon as he invokes Yor's name.
And Twilight explicitly told Yuri to flee if he wanted to live, but in the end, he didn't follow through with that threat when he was in the position to.
Both Twilight and Yuri are left with their own questions after this chapter. Will Twilight recognise the reasons behind his actions in this confrontation? And with Yuri considering that Twilight could disguise as him so well because he'd been close enough to observe? It's setting him on a clear path to suspecting Loid. For all that Twilight won the physical fight, Yuri is the one leaving with more information.

See the real issue with TME is that it's an acronym, just like TERF, AGAB, et bloody cetera. I'm certain just spelling out transmisogyny exempt at the beginning of a Serious Post would head off a good portion of the "what's tme? i am incapable of searching out information on my own!" type comments and make it obvious that any remaining come from intellectually incurious people. Furthermore, actually spelling it out prevents it from becoming lexicalized, which is what happened to all those other acronyms, which allowed for much more semantic drift than a specific phrase otherwise would. See for instance "afab chest" to mean breasts, or the infamous "Putin is a terf". No more acronyms! Say what you mean!

A while back @mrdekarios mentioned how they gave their druid Tav one level in wizard, and Gale on level in druid, because they had taught each other a little bit of their magic, and it has been living rent free in my head ever since.
I already headcanon that Jay and Gale bonded over their curious natures and love of the magic they do, and it would honestly be so good to have them teach each other just a little bit of it in the process. Especially after Jay made fun of Gale for not being able to heal, pointing out that even initiate druids know how to mend simple wounds (Jay was not vibing with his high and mighty wizard energy and tried to knock him down a peg when he could lmao).
Idk it would just be nice to have it come full circle, starting with Gale (possibly) undervaluing other forms of magic that are not so scholarly, getting teased for the limits of his own school of magic, and finally dipping his toes into just a little bit of magic unknown to him, the same magic he had so easily dismissed before.
And then maybe Jay also earns some appreciation for how difficult magic can be when you actually have to learn and remember shit, and it doesn't just come so naturally (haha) to you through being in-tune with nature.

(this is the 'not yet in the dunmeshi fandom' anon) i've caught up to the anime and read to 30-ish chapters, i'm enjoying it a lot!
only i wanted to ask if you know where to read the manga where they use the official name translations? buying physical volumes isn't an option since it's not published here.
where i'm reading it the characters are called Laius, Farlyn, Sureau etc. and i can't take it because in my language lajus (pronounced same as Laius) means something like lard?? it's not /unfitting/ but i still don't like it lol. also Sureau is super silly
AAASDNSFV lard........ unfortunately i just checked and the scans im reading (im assuming u are also reading everydayheroes scans??) are using the old/unofficial names U_U you may just have to power thru it... if anyone else knows feel free to respond!!

Thinking about Agatha in 1693 and how the assumption of the dark magic she'd been studying was the Darkhold but how her fingers aren't even remotely a little bit black (until after she kills her mom, at which point they're darker, but not the deep black tinge of Darkhold corruption, I don't think, more like dirt than that, it's...not consistent with how it shows up on her later (or with Wanda in DSMOM)).
Thinking about how Agatha was being punished for studying above her age and station, not just for studying dark magic.
Thinking about how Agatha's "I did not break your rules. They simply bent to my power." sounds like just the sort of snark a sixteen year old girl would give to her mom without thinking of the consequences in that context (false sense of bravado, false belief that her mom wouldn't actually take this as seriously as she is).
Thinking about how Agatha said she couldn't control her power and asking her mom to teach her.
Thinking about how Agatha didn't seem to be able to control when her power started absorbing the magic from the other witches trying to kill her.
Thinking about how Agatha said she could be good.
Thinking about how Agatha's "dark magic" probably wasn't from reading the Darkhold but just her own natural power, how her mom must have seen the signs of her magic early on but refused to teach her, how Agatha probably started reading those books "above [her] age and station" to try and learn more about this power she has that none of the other witches do because no one else would help her, how Agatha couldn't control those powers even after studying and only was able to in an attempt to stop her mom from killing her, how Agatha probably did want to be good but her magic was only ever written off as dangerous, destructive, dark.
Thinking about how one of the original considerations behind Agatha being in Westview before just being someone who "shoplifts power" is that maybe she wanted to bring her mom back (x).
Thinking about how Agatha was probably just another scared little girl who had power she didn't know how to control and killed the people she loved with it.
Thinking about how that train flows from Agatha to Wanda to America, these girls who do not know how to control their powers, how Agatha and Wanda grew up seeking answers in an evil book because it might teach them something about themselves and being corrupted by it, how that corruption lead to them chasing someone who is clearly just them when they were younger, how the lie of the Darkhold is destroying your vulnerable, hurting self to try and heal your vulnerable, hurting self.
Thinking about Agatha Harkness.

do you think wizards with astigmatism but without glasses see wisps with those streaks you see late at night from light sources? Do they see someone cast a storm/fire spell squinting like "wow this is weird"? Hopefully you know what im saying bc i dont know the correct term but reading your tag on the post with the diviner and near sightedness I've wondered.. (from an anon with both near sightedness and astigmatism)
AHH i love this question as i am also a person with near sightedness and astigmatism i love the idea of wizards with astigmatism seeing those light streaks (which might be called a refractive error?) coming from the wisps and spells and i think this absolutely would happen to them. in my head, i think wizards with astigmatism would have to get special lenses to correct the fuzzy or streakiness from their spells which might cause them to unfocus - and therefore - fizzle. (thats just what i think though, i dont know if there is an actual in universe explantion for what causes fizzling. i assume that fizzling has to do, at least in part, with vision because the spell smokescreen kind of implies that with the name and the sun school accuracy enchantments have names like "keen eyes" ?????) not to mention things like depth perception when casting spells, i would fuck that up even with my glasses on i like to imagine a young wizard seeing a diviner or pyromancer cast one of their spells, mentioning something about the streaks/fuzziness around their spell, and then having the diviner or pyromancer look at them like they're crazy. or alternatively, the other wizard has an "I KNOW RIGHT??" moment (they both need to get their eyes checked)

So I'm on playthrough #4 of this game playing as Astarion this time around with the intention of romancing Wyll and man, picking all the good and heroic options as Astarion especially in Act 1 really is a case of "He would not fucking say that" bc Wyll likes all the good and heroic options and Astarion is. not that lolol
One thing is by chance I found a workaround on how to not make Wyll a devil and still keep Karlach alive. It worked but now im wondering if making him a devil would of been better narratively? Also I just got used to the horns that I kinda miss them. I do have a save thats right before doing the workaround but I did quite a bit of stuff so is it worth it?
