Top 100 Ladies of TV
Looking at old blog posts, many years ago I did a "100 favorite female characters" list, but I have met so many wonderful new ladies now that it is quite out of date and needs a major update to accommodate them. International Women’s Day seems like the perfect time to do so!
Only this time I'm restricting it to TV characters, or I will die of Overwhelm.
NOTE: This list is not in any kind of order, I just wrote them down as they came to mind. I considered alphabetical, but found it was nicer to keep everyone from a given show together. And rather than starting from scratch, I kept as much of the original list as I could and just added newer favorites on at the end, if you're wondering why some of these Very Old Fandoms are clustered at the top.

Bonding
Arsenal Women x Hardersson!Reader
Part of The Big Adventures Universe
Summary: Bonding night with the Arsenal girls
Tumblr media
You're dressed in your special Auntie Stina Arsenal jersey as she assures your Morsa that everything is going to be okay.
Momma and Morsa have a special awards night thing that they have to make an appearance at so Auntie Stina is babysitting you. Your usual babysitters in Zećira and Jessie are busy tonight too so Auntie Stina gets to take you to Arsenal bonding night.
You're very excited and it's all you've been thinking about all week.
Momma and Morsa say goodbye to you and you instantly run up to Stina's car so she can get you clipped in and you can get to Captain Kim's house faster.
"Look who it is!"
Katie's waiting for you both by the door and she swings you up easily onto her hip and tugs at your jersey teasingly.
"A true gunner in the making! You'll play for us when you're older, right?"
You nod. "Yes!"
"Even if your mams want you to play for Chelsea?"
You pull a face, sticking out your tongue. "Not-Wolfsburg sucks!"
Katie laughs, delighted, as she gives you a high five. "That sounds right." She lets you climb down and scarper inside, toeing off your shoes in the entrance hall before following the sounds of music and talking further inside the house.
"Hi, Captain Kim!" You say when you see her," What's happenin'?"
Captain Kim laughs, her hand coming to rest of your shoulder as Jen wrestles with Beth on the floor.
"They're just being silly," She tells you," And trying to knock all of my things on the floor."
As if to prove the point, Beth crashes into a little side table with an ornamental vase wobbles precariously as she launches herself straight back at Jen.
"You should tell them off," You say," That's what my Morsa does when Erin and Guro are being silly in a dangerous way. She's the Captain like you're the Captain so you can tell them off if you want."
Kim laughs slightly. "That's a good idea. Captains do get to tell people off. Do you want to help me?"
"I'm not a captain though."
"But you are the big boss. I think that means you've got some captain powers too."
"Really?"
She nods. "Really."
"Okay!"
Captain Kim leads you over to where Beth and Jen are still wrestling. She whistles, shrill and high pitched and exactly the one Morsa uses when she needs to get Erin and Guro's attention.
"Stop wrestling in my house!" She orders before lightly nudging you.
"Yeah!" You say," 'Cause you're going to break something and then Captain Kim is going to make you do laps!"
From behind you, Katie chuckles.
"Yeah, you two!" She teases," Listen to Kim and the big boss!"
"Yeah!" You agree, stamping your foot so they know you're serious.
"Sorry, y/n," Jen laughs," We'll stop."
"Good," You say," Or else you'll have to run laps tomorrow."
You shriek as you're lifted into someone's arms. You're flipped upside down as Leah's hands attack your sides.
"Look at you!" She laughs as you shriek and try to wiggle away. "Little captain in the making!"
"My mummies are captains!" You say when she finally puts you the right way up.
"You've got it in your blood!" Leah proclaims, tickling your sides again," Me and Kim'll make you into a proper captain though! Arsenal style, yeah?"
"Yeah!"
You think Arsenal bonding night is a lot of fun.
Katie helps you make a pizza where you put your pepperoni slices in a crude rendition of the Arsenal badge and she takes lots of pictures of you winning at Twister.
You end up sat between Auntie Stina and Beth for dinner as Auntie Lina selects a movie for you all to watch while you eat.
"Beth?" You ask.
"Yeah?"
"Can we call Daan? I miss her at Arsenal."
Beth laughs, already digging out her phone. "I think quite a few fans would agree with you."
The phone rings a few times before Daan's face fills the screen. Daan is a very happy person, you think, because she's always smiling when she sees you. You smile too.
"Hey, y/n!" She says," What're you doing on Beth's phone?"
"Callin' you!" You answer," Auntie Stina brought me to bonding because my mummies are busy!"
"Are you enjoying yourself?"
"I beat Leah and Captain Kim at Twister! I got chocolate as a prize!"
Daan laughs. "Good! Keep them humble!"
You giggle too. "Is Lyon fun like Arsenal?" You ask.
"It's fun," Daan replies," But I'm still learning the language. I'm sure it'll be more fun when I can speak French properly."
You nod wisely. "That's like when I came from Germany. I only knew a little English so I had to learn so I could have fun."
"It's exactly like that," Daan says," Hey, who knows, maybe you'll have to learn French too when you're older."
You think about that for a moment. You know when you're older, you really want to play for Wolfsburg. Arsenal too and maybe Barcelona as well but you'd never really thought about Lyon. You already know German and English so having fun at Wolfsburg and Arsenal should be easy.
If you went to Barcelona then you would have to learn Spanish. If you went to Lyon then you would have to learn French.
Your Momma tells you that you're very good at languages. She says she's always impressed by how easily you pick it up. Sometimes, she calls you a little chameleon because you speak your English like you were born here rather than with an accent like she and Morsa do.
You don't think it'll be too difficult to learn French if you went to Lyon.
Daan stays on the call for a bit longer before promising to send you her Lyon jersey and you migrate from Beth and Auntie Stina to the floor with Leah and Katie.
You drag a blanket with you, tucking it around both of them like you do when you have sleepytime with Jessie and Niamh. The movie is still playing but you're a little tired so you lean heavily into Leah and kick you feet up into Katie's lap.
You yawn.
"You tired, kid?" Katie asks and you nod.
"Gonna finish the movie though."
Leah chuckles, the force of it rocking your whole body as she softly cards her fingers through your hair. "I'm sure you will."
You're out like a light before the second act begins.

After your appearance at Wrestlemania you were the hottest news in the wrestling world. It felt almost as if everyone had their eyes on you and speculating your next move. It had been a few weeks since you made your debut and now it was time to go to your first TV for Monday Night Raw. To say you were nervous would be an understatement, this was a totally different game than AEW. You had already won the fan base over, mostly anyways, now it was time for the hardest part and that was keeping them on your side.
Luckily your first night wasn't a match. You were going to cut a promo with Liv and you two would be calling Rhea out. Then you would go out for the first time by yourself and basically to put bluntly, fucking with her. You loved it. Messing with her and seeing her get all frustrated did something unexplainable to you.
You made it to the arena and went into the locker room. You said hello to everyone and you spotted Liv in a corner lacing up her air morgans (iykyk). You decided that you would go and get ready with her so, you made your way over to her little corner. She noticed you coming and beamed a smile up at you.
"Hi gorgeous! I'm so happy your finally here, I can't wait for our promo tonight!" she said standing up with one boot laced up but wanting to give you a hug anyway. You leaned in to hug her "me too, I'm so excited for the promo and the thing with Rhea" you said giving her a mischievous look while saying the last part. "Oh right I almost forgot about that. Are you good to do that alone because if not I'm sure we can talk to Pierce and I could go out with you so that way you-" she was cut off "Livy I'm all good I think this'll be good for me to do but I know why you really wanted to go out there" you paused smirking at her "you just want a front seat to the drama huh?" you said laughing because honestly you can't blame her this whole thing is pretty interesting.
She bursted out into laughter after she got caught "Ah! No! What! I wanted to y'know make.. sure..you..were...ok, and also to see it unfold up close" she rambled the last part so quick you almost didn't catch it. "Liv I don't blame you I would too" you paused as an idea popped into your head and then you gasped "I have an idea" you said staring wide eyed at Liv "What? your kinda scaring me" she said seeming a bit concerned. "Ok hear me out, What if- and I'll pitch this to Pierce- You take my place-y'know- You come out and interrupt so you'll have your moment, then, I'll be on commentary for her match" you said "Wait so you want me to take your spot and you be on commentary while I do and then- wait, what if when I come out I'll do my thing for a minute or so and then I come down and get her attention then you sneak attack her from behind" she said as her own ideas start popping up.
"LIV! you are a genius and that is why I love you!" you said excitedly almost jumping up and down. "Thank you, thank you and I love you too but you seriously need to change cause we have got to go rehearse and pitch this to Pierce." she said trying to get you to hurry up. "Ok, Ok, wait - are you coming to pitch this with me?" you said pausing what you were doing to turn around and look at her. "Yeah I mean we are a package deal and I'm not letting you do this alone, OK? Now lets go-get dressed-step on it ma'am" she said walking towards you swinging her arm to get you to speed walk to the changing area. "OK, OK, Thank you!" you said speed walking to get away from her before she hits you and she will.
Once you were changed and ready to get out of the stuffy dressing room you both headed to makeup and hair. You were sitting across from Liv, she was getting her makeup done and you were getting your hair done when all of a sudden you felt a presence behind you and then you heard a whisper in your ear. "We needa talk. Now." the accent told you immediately who it was and you turned your head to validate you suspicions. You made eye contact with her and made a confused face at her. "Uh why?" you said plainly "y/n don't play dumb with me right now" she said becoming increasingly annoyed. "Uh, ok, how about" you paused and pretended to think "No" you said smiling at her and then flipping her off. "Fine but I'm warning you y/n. You mess with anymore of my matches I'll destroy you" you looked up at her and squinted your eyes at her and sucked your teeth before speaking again. "Have fun cause I'm sure that you can't find anywhere else to have fun since nobody fucking likes you" you said laughing with Liv. Rhea was fuming if this was a cartoon she would have smoke shooting out of her ears right now.
She marched away still pissed off because Rhea wasn't used to getting this kind of push back since she had always had a charming effect on people but not you and she didn't understand but you knew why, it was because you knew her darkest secrets. Who she really was, she had completely opened up to you one night. That night is one you'll never forget. You guys had just finished training and she was giving you ride back home. Before taking you home you two decided to grab dinner since it was late and after you two ate you were sitting in her car talking about everything and nothing all at once, sharing embarrassing stories, telling each other secrets nobody knows and everything in between. When you arrived at your house she had stopped you from getting out just yet. She had grabbed your thigh and pulled back into your seat, you look at her in confusion, she looked at you with such love and admiration, she flicked her eyes down to your lips and then back up to your eyes slightly biting her bottom lip and smirking before planting a deep kiss onto your lips.
Her lips were so soft and tasted like cherries from her chapstick. You didn't want it to end so when she pulled away you opened your eyes quick to make eye contact with her and then pulling her back closer to you planting a kiss of your own. She deepened the kiss by grabbing the back of your head and pushing you into her. You melted into her like butter on a hot pan. After a few moments you both pulled away to get some much needed air but something clicked in your head, this moment changed everything. You stared into her bright blue eyes that are dulled by the dim car light. You were thinking about how you felt as you admired her beauty when you heard your thought turn into spoken words. "I love you" you heard in a deep accent, you were taken aback not because you didn't feel the same but because you were shocked she felt the same way.
"Oh no, don't worry I know that was weird- I'm sorry I didn't mean to say that out loud-" she was cut off by you placing your hand over her mouth. "Shhh...." you whispered scooting closer to her now you were almost nose to nose with her. "I love you too" you said smirking at her and you feel the breath of relief that left her body. You slowly pulled your hand away and she let out a cute little giggle "really" she said quietly, you nodded your head and planted a quick peck on her lips before quickly hopping out of her car. You shut the door and waved at her and blew her a quick kiss "wait baby come here" she said with a raised voice so you could clearly hear her or more specifically the nickname she just called you. You blushed as you turned around and walked back and then leaned down sticking your head through the open passenger side window. She unbuckled so she could reach you and when she finally could she grabbed your jaw "just one more" she whispered as her breath hit your lips. She kissed you with more passion and when she pulled away you were left wanting more.
You were now going over your promo with Liv. You were thinking about your encounter with Rhea earlier and felt kind of bad about how you talked to her. But you didn't understand why, she hurt you badly and she was nasty to everyone. But there was feeling in your heart you couldn't shake. You managed to ignore it for the time being and get back to your rehearsal.
"Hey did you wanna go talk to Pierce now?" you said trying to check boxes off on your mental to-do list. "Yeah are you good with the promo? Is there anything you wanna change?" she said making sure the promo was good to go before doing anything else. "Yeah it's all good, we should head to his office the show starts soon" you stated before grabbing your belongings off the table and heading out of the small room you had been in for a while. Liv followed beside you as you marched to the GM's office.
You finally made it and Liv knocked on the door. Pierce answered rather quickly. "Well this is a nice surprise I guess, what can I do for 'ya" he said clearly frustrated by all the other people that have come by to complain and by people I mean other wrestler and by other wrestlers I mostly mean Chelsea. After you reassured him that this wasn't bad and that it was actually making his job a little easier he let you in and you guys talked for about 45 minutes. When you left his office both of you were so happy that your idea's were accepted.
"I'm so happy he liked out pitch, maybe we should come up with some more ideas- oh shit the shows starting we are on in 15" she said as she checked her phone for the first time in what seemed like hours. "Oh shit ok, let's go to the monitor" you said and Liv started speed walking beside you. You were patting yourself down looking for your phone and you couldn't find it then you realized you left it in your bag back in the locker room. "Damn it I left my phone in the locker room, I'll be right back" you said as you started running down the halls so you wouldn't miss your segment. You busted through the door and it seemed empty so you quickly made your way over to your bag and shuffled through it until you finally found it.
"Can't wait to see what your gonna say tonight" you heard behind you. You weren't thinking clear so you didn't process who it was in time so instinctively you turned towards the voice still looking down at your phone replying to messages from a few hours ago and replied "oh thank y-" you stopped talking as soon as you made eye contact with her. She chuckled at your reaction, you huffed and dropped your head down so now you were looking at the ground. You two were all alone staring at each other. This time you got to really get a good look at her and how different she was not only in her appearance but also her energy changed something felt off but you couldn't really tell what besides the obvious.
"So can we talk now?" she said seeming sincere and genuine, you sighed and as you were about to speak you were interrupted. "Hey there you are come on we have to go" Liv said as she bursted into the room. When she was done rambling she let out a huff and then turned to look at Rhea "oh hello" she said as she grabbed your arm "and goodbye" she said as she dragged you behind her. You looked back at Rhea who seemed annoyed at the constant dismissal she was receiving.
"Ok what the hell was that y/n?" Liv said as you made it back to gorilla and about to go on. "I don't know, I didn't know she was in there she just appeared out of nowhere" you stammered. You were in a slight state of panic from what had just occurred, you think to yourself about how ridiculous this must seem but to you it was like a freight train hitting you at lightning speed all because you haven't been so close to her in so long. But now you have to remind yourself of who you are and what she did to and just like that the anger you felt for her returned. With the change of attitude you heard your music hit. You walk out and wave to the crowd and do your entrance in the ring before stepping out and making your way over to the commentary table.
"Here she is the lovely miss y/r/n" Kevin said and you smiled at him as you put the headset on. "Oh let's not forget about the wonderful Kevin Patrick" you said playfully motioning towards him. "Hey hey where's my praise" Corey said sounding a bit offended at the lack of compliments. You and KP laughed with Corey as Rhea's music hit you all stopped and looked at the ramp anticipating her entrance.
"So I hear you two have a bit of history, is that right y/r/n?" Corey asked as you glanced towards him. "Uh yeah I guess you could say that" you said not wanting to spread all your business to the whole world. You look back towards Rhea who is now on the apron with Dom standing in front of her. You watched on as her muscular arm wrapped around the upper part of Dominik's body, slowly growing more envious of his position. Wait what are you thinking right now. She destroyed you and now you have to destroy her. Once those emotions are pushed way way way down you glared at her from the table and she makes eye contact with you as she turns to walk into her corner. She smirks at you and does her little wave, you sit up straight in you seat and move forward a little bit. She looks you up and down before turning to face the entrance ramp.
"Did anyone else see the way Rhea was eyeing y/r/n here on commentary?" KP said into the headset and Corey turned to face KP. "What are you trying to say KP? That mami's intimidated? No way!" Corey said totally flabbergasted at Kevin's insinuations. "Let's be real Corey I am the only one who can take that title of her. I've beaten her plenty of times and I don't have a problem doing in again" you said oozing confidence as you spoke to Corey. KP laughed at your quick retort "Whatever helps you sleep at night y/r/n" Corey said sounding kind of defeated.
The match was nearing the end and you and Rhea had shared some moments during the match. Her eyes lingering on you for a second too long. The way you glared at her from your seat while making various comments about the match and dropping hints about things to happen in the future then her just smirking at you.
"1,2,3, *ding ding ding* and here's your winner the womens world champion Rhea Ripley!" the match ending as it usually does with Rhea hitting a rip tide then folding the person into a suggestive position but she was facing you and staring at you the entire time. You didn't let it show but it gave you butterflies.
But her victory wasn't celebrated for long before Liv's music hit. The crowd erupted into a loud cheer as she came out, not even bothering to do her little pose at the top of the ramp. Liv was a woman on a mission. Liv had her own personal issues with Rhea and so did you do this was perfect. You smirked as you and Liv made eye contact and she smirked back at you as she climbed onto the apron of the ring.
"What'd you want?" Rhea shouted slowly walking to meet Liv. "I think you know what I want Rhea" Liv said as she held intense eye contact with the tall woman that's moving closer to her. "You want it, that one wants it-" Rhea turned to point at you but was surprised to see that you were directly behind her. You moved like a mouse careful to not make any noise or sudden movements.
You smirked as you came face to face with her once again, just like old times. "What? didn't see me comin'" you said as you chuckled. "Get out of my ring!" she yelled her accent thicker than ever, she was getting your face. You didn't move back you planted yourself like a tree not budging as she got closer. She was centimeters from your face, she was laughing at you. You had muted out everyone around you, only hearing her. You had enough, she was getting personal, almost telling thousands of people your deepest secrets. So you did the only thing you could think of while this feeling of being trapped and cornered, you decked you right in the nose. She looked at you, shocked, she didn't expect you to actually hit her. You looked just as baffled by your sudden hit. But just as soon as you were shocked you felt the fire inside reignite, the rage filled your body. You knew what you were now capable of and wanted to take full advantage. You pushed her to the ground and got on top of her and let loose. You weren't sure if anything was actually making contact but you didn't care you just needed to keep going.
Suddenly you felt your arms being pulled back so instinctively you jumped back ready to attack them. But when you saw that it was Liv your emotions came down and you huffed suddenly out of breath. You stared a Rhea who was laid out on the floor and you decided to walk towards but you were yanked back Liv muttering to you to let it go and to not push it. You didn't pay any mind to her pleas and gently pulled your arm back to your side she gave you a final pleading look but you turned back to look at Rhea. You stood over her your feet on either side of her body, you squatted down almost sitting on her. You looked down making eye contact once again. You chuckled lightly at the sight, "I hope you missed me, cause I'm not going anywhere." you shouted before leaning in closer just as close as she got before she ended up in this position. "Count your days mami, and get used to this cause i'm coming for you bitch" you loudly whispered in her face, you stood up staring down at her as you made your way out of the ring.
You swiftly made your way to the back leaving Liv to chase after you. "Y/n, Y/n-" she finally caught up to you and roughly grabbed your arm stopping you dead in your tracks. "What Liv" you said in an annoyed tone "what happened back there? what's going on with you? I've never seen you act like this" she said pleading for you to give her some kind of explanation. You sighed " Liv I don't wanna talk about it ok?" you said trying to dismiss the subject entirely. "Ok I get that but I'm just really confused and I need to know that your ok" she said and you understood where she was coming from and you wanted to tell her but you needed to clear your head first, "I know and I want to tell you just not right now, I need some space- I just need to be alone right now" you said begging her to understand even a little bit.
"Ok that's fine how about you take the rental and I'll get a ride back to the hotel, do what you gotta do just let me know if you need me" you sighed in relief tears almost falling. "Thank you for understanding, I'll see you later" you said going in for a hug. "Of course, I got you, your my girl" she said hugging you tightly. Liv made you feel sane, like you weren't crazy for being so hurt, she understood you in a way nobody has before she was like the sister you never had and no matter what you will always back her up and you know she would do the exact same thing.
You went back to the locker room and got changed. You grabbed all your things and the keys from Liv's bag making your way out of the arena you passed by medical. As you walked past you just glanced over and saw her getting bandaged up she saw you and gave you a look that cut right through you and you knew in that moment you fucked up big time. You drove around for a bit, taking the long way back to the hotel. Needless to say you felt a lot better when you got there, You gathered your things once again and headed into the building and up to your room. When you got there Liv was in the shower so you had sometime to relax before you had to face your best friend again so you decided to lay on the bed and stare at the ceiling. You began to go over the events that happened tonight in your head over and over again.
You heard the bathroom door open and her voice was soft when she saw you laying on the bed, in complete silence.
"Hey are you ok?" she asked as she sat beside you on the bed, softly grabbing your arm to give you a reassuring squeeze. You felt so many emotions and just broke down. You sat up so you could talk to her but the words wouldn't come out, she seemed to understand and just wrapped her arms around you as you sobbed. She brushed your hair out of your face so she could see you. "Hey it's gonna be ok y/n" she said just above a whisper you looked at her and nodded your head as your mind started to clear.
"I don't know why- why she has this effect on me" you said through broken cries. "It's just being so close to her- I just felt all the pain she caused me- y'know" you said looking up at her while you were still hugging her. "Yeah I get it y/n, everythings gonna be ok I promise she's never gonna do what she did to you again" she said promising you that she'd never let that happen again. "I love you Liv, thank you for putting up with all this" you said sitting up and finally collecting yourself. "I love you too y/n, and I'm not 'putting up with this'" she said with air quotes around the last part. "You are my best friend in this entire world, I don't think I could've done this return without you." she said making you feel so grateful for her, you didn't deserve her but she was your best friend and nothing is going to come between you two.

"Adam, what do you mean I have to defend my title against Bianca AND Charlotte at Wargames?" You glared at Adam Pearce as you stood in his office, the tension from the brawl last week still lingering in the air.
Adam smirked at your protest, leaning back in his chair. "You're the one who attacked both Bianca and Charlotte over the past few weeks, and now it's time to face the consequences. It's not my fault you decided to take matters into your own hands," Adam replied, unfazed by your glare. "Wargames is the perfect stage for settling these scores, don't you think?"
You shook your head in frustration, clenching your fists. "This is a setup. You're trying to use this chaos to take the title away from me."
Adam chuckled, "I'm just providing the opportunity for a fair match. You've been running wild, attacking everyone in sight. Now, it's time to see if you can back it up in the ring."
Your frustration grew, and you slammed your hands on Adam's desk. "Charlotte is the one who got in my face first, and Bianca attacked me out of nowhere during my match! So it's not my fault that they got a taste of their own medicine.
Adam raised an eyebrow, seemingly unimpressed. "You're not the only one with scores to settle. Wargames will be the battleground, and the three of you will have the chance to settle your differences in a brutal, no-holds-barred match."
You slammed your fists on Adam's desk, seething with frustration. The tension in the room mirrored the chaos that had unfolded in the ring just days ago.
"The only thing that will happen is that you will have two less women on your roster after Wargames," you retorted, glaring at Adam with a fiery determination. He leaned forward, his smirk widening. "I will break both of them so bad that their bones will be begging for mercy," you declared, your words laced with venom. Adam's smirk widened at your angry promise.
"You are not getting out of this, and that is final. Wargames will be the reckoning, and your title will be on the line. If you're as unstoppable as you claim to be, prove it in the most unforgiving match we can offer. You should get ready for that contract signing, because it's happening tonight." Adam's tone was authoritative, leaving no room for negotiation.
You wanted to jump over the table and strangle the smirk off of Adam's stupid face, maybe then he would take you seriously. But instead, you shot him one final glare, and stormed out of his office, frustration boiling within you. The chaos that unfolded in the ring, the internal conflicts within the Bloodline, and now this unexpected title defense in a Wargames match—it was all too much to handle in such a short span.
Jey was waiting for you outside his office, his own frustration evident on his face.  The two of you hadn't exchanged pleasant words since the heated argument in the ring on Friday. The tension between the two of you was palpable, and you could feel the weight of the Bloodline's internal conflicts pressing down on you.
Jey tried to catch your eye as you walked past him, "What did he say?" he questioned, his voice tight with concern.
"What do you think?" You snapped back, the frustration evident in your tone. "I have to defend the title against both Bianca and Charlotte in a Wargames match. Adam thinks it's some kind of poetic justice for me taking matters into my own hands."
Jey rolled his eyes at Adam's idea of justice and your attitude. "So you can't help us against Kevin and his team?"
You halted in your tracks, turning sharply to face Jey. "Are you seriously still on that? We're talking about my title, Jey. If you and the others can't handle Kevin Owens and his crew, that's on you."
Jey's frustration mirrored yours. "You seriously think we can't handle them?"
"I didn't say that." You retorted, crossing your arms.
"But you don't think we need your help," Jey finished your sentence, a mixture of irritation and hurt in his eyes.
The tense silence between you two lingered, both of you grappling with the conflicting loyalties and the growing divide within the Bloodline. The hallway seemed to tighten around you, suffocating under the weight of expectations, rivalry, and unresolved issues.
"Jey, can you please just understand that I've got a lot on my plate right now?" you pleaded, the frustration in your voice giving way to a hint of vulnerability.
"You don't  get it, do you?" Jey's voice was a mix of frustration and disappointment. "It's not about your title. The Bloodline is falling apart, and we need each other now more than ever." He stopped you from walking away by grabbing your arm. His touch was firm, and when you tried to pull away, he held on tighter.
"And now, when we need to stand together, you're pushing us away." Jey said, his eyes intense as he locked onto yours.
Your skin lit on fire at the way Jey was looking at you — all anger and disappointment that made the anger boil in your chest. How dare he be disappointed in you when he was the one questioning your loyalty? The conflict within the Bloodline was tearing at the seams, and you felt the weight of it all.
"You were the one that told me you would choose Roman over anyone else, including me," you shot back, your tone sharp. "I'm just taking you at your word. So don't act like I'm the one tearing the Bloodline apart."
You snatched your arm from Jey's grip, eyes fiery and temper flaring. "So how about you go back to your precious leader and figure out how you're going to deal with Kevin Owens and his crew. I've got a title to defend and no time for your drama."
With that, you stormed way from Jey, leaving him standing in the hallway, frustration etched on his face. The tension within the Bloodline had reached a breaking point, and the divide between loyalty to Roman and the need to address external threats was tearing at the seams.
"Fuck." Jey muttered as he kicked a rubble on the floor, frustration boiling within him.
He needed to get his head straight, and get his girl back. He needed to hurt the cause of  the chaos, and that meant Kevin and Sami. He knew you would be pissed that he was taking matters into his own hands, but he couldn't let the Bloodline crumble.
As Jey stormed off in the opposite direction, determined to confront Kevin and Sami, the hallway echoed with the unresolved tensions that threatened to shatter the unity of the Bloodline.
————-
"What did I tell you to do?" Roman's angry voice made your skin crawl as he confronted Sami in the locker room. The tension in the air was thick, mirroring the conflicts that had spilled out into the hallway.
Sami, sitting on a bench, looked up at Roman, his face a mixture of regret and frustration. "I hesitated for a moment, but I'm still with the Bloodline," he defended himself, the turmoil in his eyes betraying his internal struggle.
Roman's gaze narrowed, his disappointment palpable. "When I give an order, you follow it without hesitation. Loyalty is everything."
You, having followed Roman into the locker room, stepped forward, trying to mediate the escalating situation. "Roman, he's still with us. We need to focus on the real threat—Kevin and his team."
Roman's attention shifted to you, his eyes flickering with a mixture of frustration and authority. "This is an internal matter. Stay out of it."
You went to speak again, but Sami cut you off before you could get yourself into anymore trouble. "Roman, I messed up. I get it. But I'm still with the Bloodline. I just need a chance to prove it," Sami pleaded, desperation evident in his voice.
Sami knew he fucked up by hesitating, and he was fully aware of the consequences. For one second, he had let doubt cloud his judgment, and Roman was not one to tolerate such lapses in loyalty. You sat on the bench next to Sami, a concerned expression on your face. Jimmy, Jey, and Solo were out as per Roman's orders to leave you alone. Why he let you stay was  a mystery. Did he want to watch you squirm as he yelled at Sami, knowing you couldn't ntervene?
Roman's stern gaze shifted between you and Sami, contemplating the situation. The tension in the locker room was palpable, the air thick with the consequences of Sami's momentary lapse in loyalty. Your presence seemed to add another layer of complexity to the situation, but Roman's focus remained on Sami.
"I don't tolerate hesitation, Sami," Roman stated, his voice low and authoritative. "You had a choice, and you chose to doubt. Loyalty can't afford hesitation."
Sami nodded, acknowledging the gravity of his mistake. "I messed up, Roman. I should have acted without thinking. It won't happen again."
Roman's expression remained stern, but a flicker of consideration crossed his eyes.
"Then prove it." Roman straightened up, his aura demanding respect. "You want a chance to prove your loyalty? You'll get it. Tonight." Roman's face was etched with a look that made you wonder what kind of test he had in mind for Sami. The stakes within the Bloodline were escalating, and Roman's decisions carried the weight of the faction's unity.
"You face Kevin Owens, and you prove that you're still an asset to the Bloodline. If you hesitate again, there won't be any room for redemption," Roman declared, his words leaving no room for argument.
Sami's eyes widened, a mix of determination and anxiety flashing across his face. The gravity of the situation had just intensified, and the burden of proving himself hung heavy on Sami's shoulders.
Roman's gaze shifted to you, who was still sitting on the bench, observing the intense exchange. "And you," Roman turned his attention to you, his voice carrying the weight of authority. "Jey and Jimmy will accompany you to handle your business in that contract signing, and then you'll accompany Sami to his match against Kevin tonight. We can't afford any more setbacks."
Great, just what you needed. Kevin making your life 10x harder, and Jey adding to the chaos. As Roman left the locker room, you exchanged a glance with Sami, both of you realizing the magnitude of the task at hand.
"You didn't have to stay and watch that," Sami muttered, a hint of embarrassment in his voice.
"I didn't exactly have a choice," you replied, a mixture of frustration and concern in your tone. He looked at your neck and saw you weren't wearing the pendant he gave you, and realization crossed his face. "I'm messing everything up." The nerves were clear in his voice, and you could sense Sami's internal struggle.
"No, you are not." You tried to reassure him, but he cut you off.
"I hesitated, and Roman is right. Loyalty doesn't hesitate." Sami's frustration was evident, and he seemed to be grappling with the weight of his actions. The locker room atmosphere was tense, and the upcoming match against Kevin Owens hung like a dark cloud over both of you. "And I'm the reason you and Jey are falling apart."
"You're not the reason for everything, Sami," you insisted, trying to calm his spiraling thoughts. Jey made the arguments about Sami, you made the arguments about how you were feeling overwhelmed and torn between conflicting loyalties. Sami's eyes bore into yours, his internal turmoil mirroring the chaos that surrounded the Bloodline.
"It's not just about tonight's match. It's everything. The Bloodline, the title defense, Jey," Sami sighed, frustration evident in his voice. "I don't want to be the cause of all this mess."
"Sami, stop spiraling." You gripped his shoulders, trying to steady him, but he continued to ramble about his fears and concerns. The weight of the Bloodline's internal conflicts seemed to crush down on both of you, and there was no easy solution in sight.
"Sami..." Your eyes turned to the TV that was playing when an unexpected scene caught your attention. It was Jey standing in the middle of the ring, mic in hand and an angry expression on his face. The volume of the TV was low, but you could hear Jey's voice echoing through the locker room.
"...Sami don't belong in the bloodline! And if you can't see that Y/N, then you need to open your eyes!" Jey's words sent a shockwave through the locker room. Your heart sank, and Sami's eyes widened as the gravity of the situation unfolded on the screen.
"What the hell is he doing?" Sami muttered, his frustration now directed at the unfolding drama in the ring.
You couldn't believe what you were seeing. Jey, airing the Bloodline's internal conflicts in such a public manner, was a betrayal of the unity the faction had always prided itself on.
You heard Kevin's music hitting, and Jey's attention shifted towards the entrance ramp. The situation was spiraling out of control, and you and Sami exchanged a glance, realizing that the Bloodline's internal conflicts were now on full display for the world to witness.
"Did you know he was going to do this?" Sami questioned, his eyes searching yours for answers.
"No, I had no idea." You replied, frustration and concern etched on your face. This was not gonna end well. You watched as the  TV screen showed Kevin Owens making his way to the ring, a sly smile on his face as he observed the turmoil within the Bloodline.
"Jey, everything I said was gonna happen has started happening. Sami is falling apart, Roman is pissed, and now Jey is publicly airing our dirty laundry." Kevin's voice crackled through the TV speakers as he entered the ring, the chaos in the arena mirroring the chaos within the Bloodline.
"Sami, go out there and handle Kevin Owens," Roman's voice cut through the tension in the locker room, snapping both you and Sami back to the immediate situation at hand. He must've walked in while you were fixated on the camera. Roman's tone brooked no argument, and Sami, with a nod, headed towards the ring.
You went to get up, but Roman stopped you with a stern look. "You're not going anywhere. I need you focused on the contract signing. Jey has caused enough chaos for one night."
You went to respond, but Kevin's voice resonated again through the speakers, his taunts and provocations cutting through the locker room.
"I told you all nothing but the cold hard truth. And I think the one person that needs to hear it more than anyone is you, Jey." Kevin paused, letting the words hang in the air as the TV screen showed Jey's angry expression.
"I already know what you 'bout to say, uce! You gon' say that you gon' beat us at Wargames, that me and Sami are distracting the Bloodline, that Y/N needs to open her eyes and see that The Bloodline are the real problems in her life. But the only person who causing problems in her life is you, Kevin!" Jey shouted back, his voice echoing through the locker room. The intensity of the confrontation in the ring seeped through the TV, and you couldn't tear your eyes away from the unfolding drama.
Roman's expression darkened as he listened to Jey's words. The tension within the Bloodline was reaching a boiling point, and the external threat posed by Kevin Owens only added fuel to the fire.
"You wanna talk about loyalty, uce?" Jey continued, his eyes locked onto Kevin in the ring. "Loyalty is standing by your family, by your blood, no matter what. You don't get that, Kevin. You never will, cause you betray everyone you get close to. And that's why Y/N and Sami need to get away from you, and that's why I don't want Sami in The Bloodline anymore!"
Kevin sarcastically laughed, but you could see the anger in his eyes at the mention of betraying people. The intensity of the situation reached a new height, and the locker room seemed to echo with the weight of Jey's words.
"I actually wasn't gonna say that Jey. What I was gonna say was that you're a damn hypocrite. You preach about loyalty, but your actions speak louder than your words," Kevin shot back, his gaze locked onto Jey. he tension in the ring was mirrored by the tension in the locker room.
"We aren't blind, Jey. We can see you and Y/N falling apart. Sami hesitating because he doesn't know where his loyalty lies. Y/N caught in the crossfire. Roman trying to maintain control, but the seams are unraveling. And you, Jey, you're at the center of it all. You wanna blame me for you and Y/N falling apart, but you need to take a good look in the mirror. Cause all I told her was the truth, that you will never choose her over Roman. And then what happened?"
You held your breath as Kevin inched closer to an angry Jey who looked like he was about to pounce on him. "You confirmed her worst fears, Jey. You told her that you would choose Roman over anyone, including her."
You could feel Roman's stare on you as Kevin's words cut through the airwaves. You slowly turned to him, your expression a mix of frustration, confusion, and concern. The locker room seemed to shrink as the external conflict mirrored the internal struggles within the Bloodline.
Roman's gaze was unwavering, his eyes penetrating yours. Whether it was a warning or an inquiry, you couldn't decipher. The intensity in the room was suffocating, the weight of the unfolding drama pressing down on everyone.
"You're the one tearing her apart, not me. And you only have yourself to blame for all of this, for Sami hesitating, for Y/N being caught in the middle, for the chaos within the Bloodline," Kevin continued, his words cutting through the air like a knife.
"Shut the fuck up about Sami!" ey roared, his frustration boiling over. The locker room was on edge, and Roman's stoic expression revealed nothing of his inner thoughts. On cue, Sami came out from the back, a conflicted expression on his face. The TV screen split between the ongoing confrontation in the ring and Sami's entrance.
Sami hesitated for a moment, glancing between Jey and Kevin, seemingly torn between the internal conflicts of the Bloodline and the external threat posed by Kevin Owens. The tension in the locker room reached its peak, a palpable feeling of uncertainty and unrest settling over the faction.
"Roman, I need to go out there." You pleaded with the Tribal Chief, your voice desperate as you tried to convey the urgency of the situation. Roman's gaze remained fixed on you, a silent command for you to stay put.
"Not yet," Roman responded, his tone firm. "Let Jey handle this. He wants to be a big boy and go out there to air our dirty laundry, let him deal with the consequences."
You bit your lip, torn between following Roman's orders and the burning desire to confront the escalating chaos in the ring. The TV screen showed Jey and Kevin locked in a heated exchange, the verbal sparring reaching new heights. The weight of the Bloodline's internal conflicts hung in the air like a storm about to unleash its fury.
"Oh, here's your best friend, Sami!" Kevin mocked Jey, knowing his words were like fuel to the fire. Sami hesitated at the entrance ramp, caught between loyalty to the Bloodline and the accusations flying between Kevin and Jey.
"What the hell you doing here?" Jey shouted at Sami, his frustration evident in his tone. Sami glanced between Jey and Kevin, the internal struggle visible on his face.
"Roman told me to come out here to handle Kevin!" Sami shouted back as he walked into the ring, trying to assert his presence in the chaotic situation.
Jey's expression turned from frustration to anger as he processed Sami's words. "Roman told you? This is our business, Sami! We don't need you making it worse!"
"You already kinda did that yourself!" Sami snapped back, frustration clear in his voice. The tension in the ring escalated as Sami joined the fray, caught between the conflicts within the Bloodline and the external threat posed by Kevin Owens.
The TV screen split between the chaotic scene in the ring and Roman's stern gaze in the locker room. The entire faction seemed to be unraveling, torn between internal disputes and the impending external threat of Wargames
Kevin laughed at the growing chaos in the ring, reveling in the discord he had sown within the Bloodline.  Sami pushed Jey away from him and turned to his ex-best friend, a mix of frustration and determination in his eyes.
"Kevin, if you know what's good for you, leave this ring and never come back. This is our business, and you have no place here," Sami declared, trying to assert control over the situation.
Kevin, however, seemed to thrive on the chaos. "Oh, I know what's good for me, Sami. And what's good for me is watching the Bloodline tear itself apart. But you don't belong in their shit, Sami!" Kevin wanted his friend to stop being in la la land and pretending that he is actually in the Bloodline, and he wanted you to stop being torn between loyalties and choose him.
"I actually do belong with them, Kevin," Sami shot back, his frustration boiling over. "More than you'll ever understand. Now get out of this ring before things get uglier than they already are."
Kevin smirked, enjoying the chaos he had ignited. "Oh, you do? Then why do they always turn their backs on you, Sami? Why does Jey want you out? And why is Y/N caught in the middle, torn between loyalty to the Bloodline and whatever the hell she has with you?"
Your heart dropped at the last words that came out of Kevin's mouth. He's such an asshole, you thought, and you watched as Jey automatically tried to charge at Kevin, but Sami held him back, creating a chaotic scene in the ring. The split screen continued to show the escalating tension in the locker room, with Roman's stern expression contrasting with the turmoil outside.
"Get the fuck off of me!" Jey yelled yelled at Sami, trying to break free from his grip. The chaos in the ring mirrored the internal conflicts within the Bloodline, and you could feel the weight of it all pressing down on you.
"He's lying to you!" Sami tried to reason with Jey, but his words seemed to fall on deaf ears as the chaos in the ring intensified. The situation had escalated beyond control, with Kevin Owens reveling in the discord he had stirred up within the Bloodline.
"That's it!" Roman's authoritative voice cut through the tension in the locker room. His stern gaze locked onto you, a silent command for you to take control of the situation. The TV screen split between the unfolding drama in the ring and Roman's unwavering presence in the locker rooms.
You heeded his command and quickly made your way to the entrance ramp. The chaotic scene in the ring intensified as you entered, drawing the attention of Jey, Sami, and Kevin. The split screen showed Roman watching closely, his expression revealing nothing of his thoughts.
Kevin laughed even more at the sight of Jey's fury, Sami's frustration, and your entrance into the chaos. He was finally so close to bringing you and Sami out of the Bloodline, and he reveled in the disarray he had caused within the faction.
"Jey, you need to calm down," you shouted over the chaos in the ring, trying to assert control. "Sami, let go of him!" Sami reluctantly released Jey, and you stepped between them, facing Kevin with a determined glare.
"Kevin, I know what you're trying to do, and it's not gonna work," you declared, your voice cutting through the tension. Mind games were what he excelled in, and you weren't gonna let him manipulate the situation any further. "Jey, Sami, let's go, Sami can beat your ass later." The TV screen showed Roman's stoic expression, his eyes narrowing as he observed the unfolding drama.
Kevin chuckled, unfazed by your defiance. "Oh, Y/N, always the peacemaker. But the truth hurts, doesn't it? Jey's loyalty lies with Roman, not with you." He wanted to show you the truth, even if the truth hurt.
Your eyes widened in hurt at Kevin's provocation, and you turned to Jey, who was seething with anger. The weight of the Bloodline's internal conflicts bore down on you, and you knew that Kevin was intentionally trying to exploit the fractures within the faction.
"Shut your mouth! Jey went to lunge at Kevin, but you stood in between them, and Jey stopped to look down at you, his chest heaving and eyes blazing with frustration. He could see the hurt in your own eyes, and his heart ached at the sight. In his mind, it was Kevin's fault that you herein this situation, and Jey wanted nothing more than to pummel
"Enough!" you shouted, trying to diffuse the escalating tension. "Jey, Sami, we have bigger issues to deal with. This is exactly what Kevin wants – to see us tear each other apart. We can't let him win."
“Yeah, listen to the woman you claim to love but won’t commit to.” Kevin snapped at Jey, and Jey went to attack Kevin again, but Sami held him back. Jey seemed angrier that Sami was the one that prevented him from taking a swing at Kevin. The chaos in the ring and the escalating tensions within the Bloodline seemed like an insurmountable storm.
"Sami, let go of me, damn it! This is your fault!”
Jey growled, still seething with anger. Sami released his grip, eyebrows furrowed in confusion and frustration.
“My fault?!” Sami yelled back, his own frustration boiling over. The ring was on the verge of erupting into chaos, and you stood in the middle, desperately trying to maintain some semblance of control.
“Yeah, your fault! Cause you always tryna push up on my girl, and now look at the mess we in!” Jey scowled at Sami, going to sucker punch him, but you pushed Sami behind you, grabbing Jey’s fist and holding it back.
Jey automatically looked at you, his anger momentarily replaced by surprise as you intervened. Your smaller hand held back Jey's fist, the struggle evident in both of your expressions. Your eyes locked with Jey's, a silent plea for him to calm down and not let the chaos consume the Bloodline.
“Baby, let go!” You shook your head at Jey’s wirds, and he glared at you,  torn between frustration and the realization that the situation had spiraled out of control.
"Why you protecting em, huh?" Jey's voice was a mix of frustration and hurt. You were exasperated by the same pattern of jealousy and possessiveness from Jey. "I'm not protecting anyone! You need to calm the hell down!"
Sami watched as you and Jey continued to exchange heated words, the tension in the ring escalating with each passing moment. The split screen showed Roman's expression, his stoic demeanor revealing little about his thoughts on the chaotic situation.
"Calm down?! How about you calm down and pick a side, babe!" Jey's frustration reached a boiling point, and he shoved you away, breaking free from your grip. The tension in the ring reached a critical level, and Sami, caught in the middle, looked torn between the escalating conflict and the desire to diffuse the situation.
You looked up at him, hurt that he shoved you away like that. Like you were nothing. "Pick a side?" You frowned at Jey's words, feeling a mix of anger and disappointment. "Are you blind? Are you acting dumb?"
"Oh, so now I'm the one acting dumb?" Jey retorted, his frustration evident in his tone. The split screen showed Roman's stern expression, his eyes narrowing as he observed the unfolding drama.
"I didn't say you are dumb. I asked if you are acting dumb," you clarified, your frustration mirroring Jey's. "Cause it's pretty clear I'm on your side. I've always been on your side!"
Sami stepped forward, trying to mediate the escalating conflict. "Guys, let's just calm down."
But his words fell on deaf ears as the tension between you and Jey continued to escalate. The chaotic scene in the ring reflected the internal conflicts within the Bloodline, and  as Kevin watched, ready to intervene if Jey got in your face, Sami found himself caught in the crossfire.
"Oh really? Then stop acting like you're all cozy with Sami, and maybe I'll believe you're on my side!" Jey shot back, his frustration reaching a breaking point.
You glared angrily at Jey, disbelief and hurt written all over your face. "Cozy with Sami? Are you serious right now? This is about loyalty to the Bloodline, not some ridiculous jealousy!" The split screen showed Roman's expression darkening, his patience wearing thin as the internal conflicts within the faction threatened to unravel everything.
Sami, caught in the middle, tried to reason with both of you. "Guys, please calm down!"
But now you weren't just hurt. You were angry. Extremely angry. How dare Jey, your boyfriend, the man that claims to love you, accuse you of being cozy with Sami on live television.
Your eyes hardened at Jey's accusations, and you took a step closer to him, the frustration radiating from your face. All you heard in your head was to put Jey in his place. No man is gonna disrespect you like that, especially not in front of the entire world.
"Jey Uso, you need to get your head out of your ass and stop accusing me of things that aren't true!" Your voice was firm, anger lacing every word. You were scary when you were angry, and Jey could see it in your eyes.
The tension in the ring was palpable, and Sami, caught in the middle, looked torn between trying to mediate and the fear of worsening the situation. "You really think I would betray you like that?"
"I'm not accusing you of anything. I'm just telling you to pick a side," Jey retorted, ignoring your question, his own frustration fueling the heated exchange. The split screen showed Roman's stern expression, his eyes narrowing as he observed the unfolding drama.
"I told you, his loyalty will always lie with Roman." Kevin stepped up, wanting to convince you of  the truth he believed in. Sami whipped his head to Kevin, frustration etched on his face.
"You need to back off, Kevin. This is none of your business," Sami snapped at Kevin, his frustration evident. He needed to get rid of the problem, and Kevin was the one causing problems.
"Oh, it's very much my business when it involves Y/N," Kevin replied, a sly smirk on his face. "I'm just pointing out the obvious, and she deserves to know the truth."
You shot Kevin a venomous glare, your patience wearing thin. "I don't need you to tell me anything. Stay out of our business!"
Jey, still seething with anger, turned his attention back to you. "You need to stop playing these games! I can't have someone who's not fully with me."
You scoffed, not being able to take his accusations any longer. "Games? You're the one starting this whole mess on live television, accusing me of things I haven't done. If you can't trust me, then maybe you need to figure out your own priorities."
You had pushed Jey too much, and he couldn't handle it anymore. He was a hothead at his worst, and his insecurities and your anguish had reached a boiling point.
"And if you can't handle the truth, maybe you need to reconsider being a part of the Bloodline," Jey shot back, his frustration turning into a cold determination, but he regretted the words as soon as they left his mouth. The weight of the silence that followed hung heavily in the air, a tangible tension that seemed to echo through the entire arena.
Your brain shut down at the weight of Jey's words. The shock, hurt, and anger collided within you, creating a storm of emotions. Everyone else seemed to fade away, and  all that remained was the harsh reality of the words that had just been spoken.
The man you loved just told you that he questioned your place in the Bloodline, and in his life. The realization hit you like a punch to the gut, and for a moment, you felt the world around you blur.
Jey's declaration hung in the air like a heavy cloud, and the split screen showed Roman's expression darkening, his eyes narrowing at the unfolding chaos. The tension within the Bloodline had reached a breaking point, and the fractures within the faction seemed irreparable.
Sami's hands on your shoulders steadied you as the weight of Jey's words sank in, but you brushed his hands away, needing a moment to process everything. Jey's face was a mixture of regret and frustration, and he tried to reach out to you, but you stepped back, putting some distance between you and him.
"You really think that?"  Your voice was shaky, a mix of hurt and anger lacing your words, and Jey's heart hurt at the sight. He thought airing out his feelings on  live television would make things better, but it only seemed to have made everything worse.
Jey's regret was evident, but he struggled to find the right words to mend the damage. "Y/N, I didn't mean it like that. I was just angry, and I—" Jey began to explain, desperation in his voice, but you held up a hand to stop him.
No, Jey. You said what you really felt. Don't try to backtrack now." Your voice wavered with a mixture of emotions. "You wanna act like a big strong man and air out our shit on live TV, fine. But  don't expect me to just forgive and forget when you question my loyalty and place in the Bloodline."
Your words were sharp, each one laced with the hurt and betrayal you felt in that moment. Jey stepped closer to you, his eyes pleading for understanding, but you took another step back, the distance between you growing.
"No, you wanna question my loyalty? Fine, then maybe I need to reevaluate my place in the Bloodline and in your life," you declared, your tone resolute.
"No, no, no you do not." Sami tried to step in, his frustration evident. "Y/N, don't let this moment define everything. Emotions are high, and Jey didn't mean—"
You cut Sami off, your eyes never leaving Jey's. "No, Sami. He needs to face the consequences of his words. If he questions my loyalty and my place, then maybe it's time for me to make a decision." You've been angry at Jey dozen's of times, but you've never disrespected him like that. Ever.
"I ain't mean it like that, Y/N. You know I—"
"No, Jey. I don't want to hear it right now," you interrupted, your voice firm. "Maybe you should figure out what you really want and what's important to you. Because I won't stay where I'm not fully wanted or appreciated. This argument has been gong on for far too fucking long, and I'm tired of it!"
Kevin observed the chaos unfolding in the ring with a satisfied grin. The disarray within the Bloodline was exactly what he wanted, and it seemed like his plan to sow discord among them was working better than he could have anticipated. He was gonna have you and Sami back with him in no time.
"I told you, Y/N, that this would happen. I know a snake when I see one, and Jey is proving me right," Kevin's voice echoed in your mind, his words taunting you as you stood face to face with Jey, the tension between you thick with unspoken words and unresolved emotions.
"I told you too, Sami. Why do you think Jey hates you and wants you out of the Bloodline? He sees you as a threat to his relationship with Y/N, and he'll do whatever it takes to get rid of you."
Kevin faced Sami, sympathy on his face. Sami, frustrated and torn, glared at Kevin, his internal struggle evident in his eyes. "Why do you keep fighting for people who don't appreciate you? Why do you let Jey treat you like this?" Kevin's words lingered in the air, planting seeds of doubt and frustration.
Sami glared at Kevin, but couldn't deny the turmoil within him. "Kevin, just leave it alone," Sami snapped, the frustration evident in his voice.
"Why? I told you what was going to happen, Sami. The Bloodline is falling apart, and you're caught in the middle of it. You deserve better than this, and deep down, you know it —"
Before Kevin could finish his sentence, Jey lunged at Kevin, unable to stand his taunting any longer. The chaos in the ring reached a fever pitch as Jey's fist connected with Kevin's jaw, sending him sprawling to the mat. Sami rushed forward, trying to intervene, but the damage had been done.
You watched as Kevin dodged a counterattack from Jey, and Sami trying and failing to push Jey off of Kevin. The chaotic scene in the ring mirrored the internal conflicts within the Bloodline, and the split screen showed Roman's stern expression deepening.
"Get the fuck off me!" Jey yelled at Sami, trying to break free and deliver another blow to Kevin.
"This is what he wants, Jey!" Sami yelled, desperately trying to reason with Jey. The split screen continued to display the chaotic scene in the ring, and Roman's patience seemed to be wearing thin.
You were frozen in the corner of the ring, watching as the chaos unfolded before you. The tension was palpable, and the fractures within the Bloodline were now on full display for the world to witness. Your mind was a whirlwind of emotions, torn between the hurtful words Jey had uttered and the chaos that had erupted in the ring.
You snapped out of your stupor as you saw Kevin hit a Stunner on Jey, taking advantage of Sami and Jey's argument, leaving him sprawled on the mat. You took off your title, running to hit him with it while Sami after a half-second tried to  run towards  Kevin, but Kevin swiftly rolled out of the ring just in time, avoiding the potential attack.
You stood there, your title in your hands, and the camera captured how you stared down at Jey, a mix of frustration and disappointment on your face, while Sami watched Kevin with a conflicted expression. The split screen showed Roman's stern gaze, his unreadable expression revealing nothing of his thoughts on the chaotic situation.
"I'm gonna get you both back where you belong!" Kevin shouted from outside the ring, a grin on his face as he reveled in the chaos he had unleashed within the Bloodline. "And that's with me!"
You watched as Jey stirred, and you felt a surge of conflicting emotions. The chaos in the ring, the hurtful words exchanged, and the internal conflicts within the Bloodline had reached a breaking point. Sami stood by your side, torn between the escalating situation and his loyalty to the faction.
You moved towards Jey, checking on him to make sure he was okay before extending a hand to help him up. Jey looked up at you, his expression a mix of pain and regret, and reluctantly took your hand.
"You alright?" you asked, your voice softer than before, the anger giving way to concern. Jey nodded, avoiding eye contact, and you helped him stand. Sami watched the exchange, a conflicted expression on his face as he processed the events that had just unfolded.
"Go back to the locker room, both of you. Tell Jimmy to stay back too. I'll handle my business." You let go of Jey's hand, and Jey's face turned hurt at your words. There was a moment of tension between the three of you, the weight of the situation hanging heavily in the air.
"You've never asked me to leave before," Jey muttered, a hint of vulnerability in his voice.
"And you've never spoken to me like that before." You replied, your voice steady but laced with the lingering emotions from the confrontation. "I need to handle my own business, and you need to handle yours. We'll talk about this later, but for now, give me some space."
Jey looked torn, caught between the desire to argue and the realization that he had crossed a line. Sami watched silently, unsure of his place in the unfolding drama. The tension in the arena seemed to intensify with every passing moment. You and Jey were locked in a stare, the unspoken words echoing in the air.
"Whatever you want, baby." Jey said finally, his voice subdued. He turned away, making his way towards the locker room with a heavy heart. He looked at you—eyes filled with love, regret, and uncertanity — before leaving the ring. Sami hesitated for a moment, torn between following Jey or staying with you. After a lingering glance, he chose to accompany Jey, leaving you standing alone in the ring.
You licked your lips as the screen's logo displayed the contract signing for you, Bianca and Charlotte would start in 5 minutes, your eyes never leaving Jey's, your eyes locked in a silent exchange of emotions. The arena was buzzing with the aftermath of the confrontation, and as the countdown for the contract signing began, you took a deep breath, trying to compose yourself.
You could only hope that the wounds inflicted on the Bloodline, and especially on your relationship with Jey, could heal over time.
————-
You sat in a chair across the ring from Bianca and Charlotte, a bored expression on your face as Adam Pearce began the contract signing. The tension from the earlier confrontation still lingered within you, making it challenging to focus on the upcoming match. Your mind kept replaying the hurtful words exchanged with Jey, the chaotic scene that unfolded, and the fractures within the Bloodline that were now more apparent than ever.
Bianca and Charlotte exchanged heated words, their rivalry evident even in the formal setting of the contract signing. You, however, remained detached, your thoughts elsewhere. All you heard was 'I'm the EST of WWE', blah blah blah, 'I'm the queen of the WWE,' and it all seemed like background noise. You perked up when you heard your name mentioned, snapping back to the present.
"Look at her! All she's focused on is her little Bloodline drama! She's not even focused on the match!" Charlotte sneered, pointing a finger at you. "That's where I thrive, when people are distracted. I'll take advantage of that in the match, and neither of you can stop me."
You looked up, meeting Charlotte's icy gaze with a steely resolve. "Oh please, Charlotte, save the theatrics for the stage. I may be dealing with some personal issues, but when that bell rings, I'll be more focused than ever. You might want to worry less about me and more about surviving the match, considering I already beat your ass a few weeks back."
"Both of ya'll ain't gonna be able  to handle what I bring to the table," Bianca interjected, her eyes filled with confidence. "You thought you was real slick attacking my man and my friend a few weeks back, but I've been patiently waiting for the right moment to make my move." Bianca leaned forward, signing the contract with a smirk. "Come Wargames, I'ma show everyone that both of ya'll are just fake little queens compared to the EST. "
You snatched the contract from Pearce's hands, signing it with a swift and determined motion. "Like you showed how to lose in less than 26 seconds?" You shot back, reminding her of her lose to Becky, your old ex-friend, your words laced with a hint of sarcasm. The tension in the room escalated, each participant in the upcoming match locked in a verbal battle.
You finished signing, throwing the contract in Charlotte's face. Charlotte sarcastically chuckled at your gesture, and the tension in the room seemed ready to explode.
"Typical Y/N, always trying to overcompsenate for her personal problems by talking big. But talk is cheap, sweetheart. And actions speak louder than words. You can talk all the shit that you want, but once that bell rings, I'll prove why I'm the queen of this division. And  you're gonna be left with no title,"
Charlotte finished signing the paper, giving it to Pearce without breaking eye contact with you. "No friends or stupid Bloodline," You knew she was gonna say something stupid, and starting taking off your earrings, glaring at her, ready for whatever she was about to say.
"And you're gonna be left with no title, no friends, and no man, considering he just walked away from you." You didn't let her finish before you lunged across the table, taking her down. The both of you fell to the floor, the contract signing descending into chaos. Security rushed in to separate you and Charlotte as the arena erupted in cheers and jeers. Bianca joined the fight when she saw an opportunity, throwing punches at the both of you, adding to the chaos. The three of you were a whirlwind of fists and fury, and the security team struggled to control the situation.
You managed to kick Charlotte off you, getting back to your feet. Bianca was resting on the ropes from a big boot by Charlotte,  and you saw an opportunity. With a burst of energy, you charged at Bianca, delivering a spear that sent her crashing to the mat. The crowd erupted in cheers as you stood over Bianca, reclaiming control of the situation.
You breathed heavily, your chest rising and falling with a mix of adrenaline and frustration. You looked at the ramp, wishing it was Jey , but he was nowhere in sight. The realization that the fractures within the Bloodline had widened, and the wounds inflicted on your relationship might take time to heal, hit you hard.
You turned around right into a surprise attack from Charlotte, who had recovered quickly. She tried to capitalize on the chaos, delivering a Natural Selection that left you sprawled on the mat. The arena buzzed with a mix of cheers and boos as Charlotte stood tall, the chaos she had incited achieving its desired effect.
Bianca quickly recovered, and both women stared each other down, a silent understanding passing between them that, despite their differences, they needed to focus on the common threat – you.
They hauled you up to your feet, looking to inflict more damage. "You can't handle the truth, can you, Y/N?" Charlotte taunted, her voice dripping with arrogance. "Your little Bloodline is falling apart, and soon, so will your reign as champion." Bianca scoffed, joining in on the taunting. "You're nothing without your so-called family. The EST is going to prove that at Wargames."
They both grabbed you, wanting to throw you into the table, but both of them wanted to be the one to inflict the final blow. Bianca tried to pull you, but Charlotte pushed her off of you, claiming her dominance in the situation. The tug-of-war continued, and you waited until they let you go and started getting in each others faces.
"What are you doing?!" Charlotte snapped at Bianca, her frustration evident. "I had her right where I wanted her!"
"I had her first!" Bianca shot back, refusing to back down. The two women were now locked in a heated argument, completely forgetting about you for the moment.
Seizing the opportunity, you gathered your strength,  grabbed your title from next to you, and charged at them with your title in hand. You swung the championship like a weapon, catching both Charlotte and Bianca off guard. The impact echoed through the arena as you laid them out, making a bold statement that you weren't to be underestimated.
You picked up the contract from the ground, a glare on your face, holding it high in the air as if you had won the entire match, stepping over the fallen bodies of Charlotte and Bianca, picking up your title and standing on the table, raising your championship high above your head. The crowd, now a mix of cheers and boos, acknowledged the chaos you had just unleashed. You savored the crowd's reaction, feeling on top, despite everything that happened. You were on top, you were in control, you were the best.
And nothing and no one would take that away from you. Because your title meant everything to you. Even more than the turmoil within the Bloodline or the wounds inflicted on your relationship with Jey.
————-
"WHY DID YOU GO OUT THERE, HUH?" You winced at Roman's volume of voice as he yelled at Jey for his earlier promo where he aired out the Bloodline's grievances. "ARE YOU THE TRIBAL CHIEF NOW? YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST DECIDE WHAT'S BEST FOR EVERYONE?"
Jey stood in the locker room, head bowed, absorbing Roman's verbal onslaught. The air in the room was thick with tension, and the other members of the Bloodline exchanged uneasy glances, unsure of how to navigate the storm that had erupted within their faction.
"I was just trying to set things straight," Jey mumbled, his voice barely audible.
Romans sarcastically chuckled at Jey's response, the tension in the room escalating. "Set things straight? You embarrassed us out there. You brought our family drama to the entire world. You think that's setting things straight?" Roman's eyes bore into Jey, disappointment and anger evident in his gaze. "You think you can just make decisions on your own, without consulting me? You think you're the one who gets to decide what's best for the Bloodline?! You're the reason people think Kevin actually has a chance at beating us!! That loser thinks he's got an opening because you can't keep your emotions in check."
You sat next to the corner of the room, Solo and Sami on either side of you, Jimmy sitting next to Jey, watching the intense exchange between Roman and Jey. The atmosphere was charged with hostility, and you could feel the weight of the recent events hanging heavily in the air. You knew this was in the making, and you knew Jey would pay for his impulsive actions. Roman continued his verbal onslaught, each word cutting through the room like a knife.
"You think you can just question Y/N's loyalty like that on live TV? Make her question her place in the Bloodline?  Because the only person who can question that is me, Jey. I'm the one who decides who's loyal and who's not. And you just made the whole world doubt us. You made the whole world question the unity of the Bloodline!!!"
Jey remained silent, the weight of Roman's words sinking in. The locker room was tense, everyone holding their breath, unsure of what would happen next.
"You disrespected Y/N, you disrespected me, and you disrespected the entire Bloodline." Roman's voice was cold, his disappointment turning into anger. "You need to understand your place, Jey. This is my show, my empire, and you will not jeopardize it with your impulsive decisions. Do you understand me?"
When Jey didnt answer, Roman grabbed Jey by the collar of his shirt, pulling him up to eye level. "Do you understand me?" he repeated, his tone demanding.
"He understands, Roman!" Sami was quick to heed to the defense of Jey, despite their differences. "He knows he messed up, and he won't make the same mistake again. Right, Jey?"
You watched the confrontation unfold, a knot forming in your stomach. The tension in the room was suffocating, and you felt a mixture of emotions — anger at Jey for causing this chaos, frustration at Roman for his authoritarian approach, and a deep sense of sadness at the fractures within the Bloodline.
Jey nodded, his eyes cast down, a mix of regret and submission on his face. "He's right, Roman. I understand."
Roman continued to stare at Jey for a moment, the intensity of his gaze unwavering. After what felt like an eternity, he released his grip on Jey's collar, letting him drop back into his seat. The room remained silent, the echoes of the confrontation lingering.
"You need to fix this, Jey. You need to make things right." Roman's stern warning hung in the air, a clear directive for Jey to rectify the damage he had done. "On Friday, you will publicly apologize to Y/N, and make it clear that the Bloodline stands united by taking out Sheamus. You will address the accusations, the doubts you cast on Y/N's loyalty, and you will do it in a way that reinforces the strength of the Bloodline."
Jey nodded again, this time with a deeper sense of determination. "I'll fix it, Roman. I promise."
Roman's gaze shifted to you, his eyes piercing through the room until they met Sami's. "You need to understand one thing." He moved closer to Sami until their faces were inches apart. "Never question my authority or the unity of the Bloodline again." His voice was low and threatening, and Sami nodded, a bead of sweat forming on his forehead.
"I won't, Roman. I'm just here to help," Sami replied, his voice shaky but submissive. Roman held his gaze for a moment longer before turning away, the tension in the room slowly dissipating.
You remained seated, the weight of the recent events settling heavily on your shoulders. The fractures within the Bloodline seemed deeper than ever, and you couldn't shake off the feeling that things might never be the same again.
Roman walked out of the locker room without saying another word, the door slamming shut behind him. The remaining members of the Bloodline exchanged uneasy glances, the aftermath of the confrontation still lingering in the air. Jimmy tried to place a hand on Jey's arm, but Jey pulled away, still processing the dressing down he received from Roman. The room was filled with a heavy silence, the tension palpable.
"Bro, you gotta chill out." Jimmy tried to comfort Jey, breaking the silence. "Roman's just looking out for the family. We'll get through this."
But Jey didn't acknowledgee Jimmy's words. He was looking at you, who was packing up your gear silently. The room felt like it was closing in on you, and you couldn't shake off the heaviness in your chest. Solo put a hand on your shoulder, offering a supportive squeeze, but you shrugged it off.
"Y/N, where are you going?" Sami asked, concern etched on his face. You didn't respond immediately, still processing the events that had unfolded.
"I need some air," you finally replied, your voice sounding more tired than usual. You stood up, slinging your bag over your shoulder, and made your way towards the door. Jey went to follow you, but both Jimmy and Solo grabbed his arms, holding him back. "Give her some space, Uce," Jimmy advised, his voice calm. "Sami, go with her. Make sure she's okay."
Jey wanted to glare at Jimmy and Solo for holding him back, but he knew deep down that he needed to give you the space you requested. He watched as Sami got up and followed you out of the locker room, leaving Jey alone with his thoughts.
You were halfway through the hallway when Sami caught up with you. He reached out, gently grabbing your arm to stop you. "Hey, Y/N, wait up."
You turned to face Sami, your expression a mix of exhaustion and frustration. "What, Sami? I just need some time alone."
"I know, I know," Sami said, his voice gentle. "I'm sorry for you and Jey going through all of this."
You shrugged, trying to maintain a facade of indifference, but Sami saw the genuine emotions beneath the surface. "It's whatever. Jey's a hothead, and we've had our fair share of arguments. But this... this feels different."
Sami  nodded in understanding. He watched as you fiddled with your gear, unsure of what to say. The weight of the situation hung in the air, and he knew that words alone wouldn't be enough to ease the turmoil within the Bloodline.
"I just want to make sure you're okay," Sami finally said, his concern evident. "For what it's worth, I don't think your loyalty should ever be questioned. You've been with the Bloodline, through thick and thin, and have been an amazing support to Roman and Jey."
You cleared your throat at his attempts to comfort you, feeling the tears threatening to spill over. It had been so long since you allowed yourself to feel vulnerable, but the recent events had taken a toll on your emotional resilience. "That's not true, Sami."
Sami scoffed at your self-doubt. "Oh please, without you they probably would be falling apart by now." His eyes widened at his words, and he nervously bit his lip, realizing that he might have crossed a line. "Please don't tell them I said that! Even if it is true."
You couldn't help but let out a small chuckle at Sami's awkward attempt to lighten the mood. "Don't worry, Sami. Your secret's safe with me." You looked up at him, your eyes glassy with unshed tears.
"Why doesn't he just trust me Sami? After everything we've been through, why does he have to question my loyalty on live television?" You broke down into a sob, and Sami automatically wrapped his arms around you in a comforting embrace.
The hallway seemed to echo with the weight of your emotions, and Sami held you close, offering the support you needed in that moment.
"I don't know, Y/N," Sami whispered, his voice filled with genuine empathy as he soothingly rubbed your back. "The pressure gets to him sometimes, and Roman expects a lot from him. It's not an excuse, but maybe he just doesn't know how to handle it all."
He pulled away slightly, wiping away the tears from your cheeks, his touch so soft that it felt like a gentle breeze. "But that doesn't excuse his actions. You deserve better, and you deserve to be treated with respect. If he can't see that, then maybe he doesn't fully understand what he has."
You leaned into Sami's arms on your own, finding solace in his comforting presence. The warmth of his embrace contrasted with the cold reality of the situation, but for that moment, it offered a sense of comfort.
"Will you be good against Kevin? I don't think I can be out there for the match." You spoke in a low, shaky voice, the emotional turmoil evident in your words.
Sami held you at arm's length, looking into your eyes with sincerity. "Don't worry about the match, Y/N. I'll take care of Kevin. You focus on yourself and what you need right now. We'll handle the rest."
You managed a weak smile, grateful for Sami's support. "You sure you don't need me with you out there?"
Sami nodded, offering reassurance. "I've got it covered. You just go rest, and I'll take care of Kevin." He knew if he lost, Roman would be furious, and he couldn't afford to let that happen. He needed to prove his worth to the Bloodline and, in a way, to you.
"Okay," you whispered, your voice barely audible. "Thanks, Sami."
Sami gave you a gentle smile, squeezing your hand before letting go. "Anytime. Now go take care of yourself, Y/N. You've been through a lot today." He watched as you nodded, offering a small smile before bringing him into a tight embrace.
Sami held you for a moment longer before releasing you, allowing you to take the time you needed. He watched as you walked  away. Sami remained in the hallway, his mind racing with thoughts of the upcoming match and the turmoil within the Bloodline. But for now, his priority was making sure you were okay.
He wished that he could be the one to offer you the support you needed, but he wanted you in his life, even if it hurt his heart. As you walked away, Sami took a deep breath, steeling himself for the challenges ahead.
You were worth the pain.

--
Peter hadn't meant to avoid your calls — he'd just been busy all day. Being a TA, taking classes, being Spider-Man all left him exhausted by the time he collapsed into his apartment.
And as he scrambled in the window, ripping off his suit and hurriedly changing for the dinner with Aunt May he was late to, his phone buzzed once again. Despite hopping on one foot to undress, he was unable to ignore your name popping up on the screen. Part of him worried whether you were in any danger.
"Hello?" he grunted into the phone, dragging his pants down and searching for a pair of jeans.
"Peter! Hi, oh– are you okay?" you asked, hearing the heavy breaths coming from his side.
Wrestling on the jeans, he said, "Yeah, yeah. I'm good." He didn't stop to think about whether that was a lie. "What's up? You okay?" He put you on speaker as he pulled on a shirt and searched for his shoes here... somewhere.
"Yeah! Well, better than okay. You'll never believe what finally happened. So you know how I was trying for months to get this job at–"
Peter clenched his jaw tight, realizing you weren't in danger at all. With his shoes on, he ran out his front door as he said, "Look, that's great, but I'm running late. Whatever it is, tell me later, okay?"
He knew his words felt short, maybe even annoyed, while weaving through the crowded sidewalk to Aunt May's place. But he had a million things going through his head, all trying to get his attention.
He barely heard you respond. "Oh, yeah. Good luck."
The call ended before you let out the last word, his hand shoving his phone into his pocket.
But you sat there on your bed, holding your phone between loose fingers. Staring at the call ended screen, a breath that felt like a gut punch left your mouth. Next to you was a small cupcake you'd gotten yourself for landing the job you'd wanted — one that went uneaten as you laid in bed.
His words repeated in your mind over and over again, the way you could practically see him rolling his eyes. It twisted your stomach, making you sure to not annoy him again.
After that, Peter hadn't heard from you for a few weeks. Calls often went to voicemail. Though you answered his texts, it took hours for you to respond — and with few words. He wasn't the fastest texter either, but this felt unusual for you. And any time he asked what was wrong, you said you were fine, but the feeling at away at him.
It sat in his chest, even when he was supposed to be teaching a class or stopping crimes. Your face flashed behind his eyes when trying to fall asleep. Was he losing you?
He was the guy that's supposed to save everyone, but you seemed to be slipping between his fingers right in front of him. It wasn't as easy as webbing up the bad guy... especially if that was him.
Late one night, when Peter couldn't take it anymore, he showed up at your door. His fingers shook with each knock, his weight shifting side to side with each passing second. Time felt a million times slower than his racing heartbeat pounding in his ears.
Any little bit of hope he still had sunk to his stomach when you opened the door, your smile falling at seeing him. "Oh," you said, "Peter, what's up?"
You looked tired, your shoulders sagging. He silently begged your eyes to light up the way they did when you two were together, but they stayed dull. You just silently took the flowers he offered to you, silence falling between you two.
Shaking his head, he pushed past you into your apartment. "What's up? Where have you been?" he asked, unable to keep his voice from sounding strained, thin. I miss you, is what he didn't say.
You sighed, crossing your arms as you shut the door and looked at him. "I've been here. Where have you been?"
His mouth tightened into a straight line, a good enough explanation dying in his throat. He reached a hand toward you, but his chest caved in when you pulled away.
"I got the job, Peter. You know, the one I'd been looking at for months? I got it."
And he hadn't been there to celebrate — to even hear you tell him the news. The look on your face, biting onto your lip to keep from tearing up, made his heart ache.
"Congratulations," he offered, but the word fell flat. "And I'm so sorry."
You couldn't stop yourself from plowing on, the feelings falling out of you. "It feels like you never have the time anymore. And that's okay, for the most part. But... just tell me. Blowing me off like that hurts. Again and again."
This time, with watery eyes, you let him approach. Let his arms wrap around you and hold you tight. His hand felt like a comfortable weight rubbing up and down your back. "You're right. I was– am, a dick. And you deserve every right to be angry at me."
"You got that right," you sniffled against him, bringing out a small laugh from both of you.
Peter pulled back, looking at you and thinking of only you. "I'm here now. I'll grab some snacks and you tell me all about it, okay?"
Slowly, you nodded, giving him a soft smile. He kissed the top of your head before going to the kitchen. He had nowhere else to be — nowhere else he wanted to be than with you.

A Damian Priest x Reader Fluff Fanfiction
Damian Priest was preparing for his upcoming wrestling match, but the thought of you was never far from his mind. He had been living on the road for the last couple of months, and the only times he got to see you were fleeting moments. He had been looking forward to this match for weeks, but as he looked around at the other wrestlers, he couldn’t help but feel a pang of longing for the company of the woman he loved.
It had been weeks since you both had been together and as Damian thought of that night, his heart ached with longing. He had gone home with you that night, feeling like the luckiest man in the world. Now, here he was on the road, wishing he could be with you again.
For you, the longing for Damian was just as strong. You had been anxiously looking forward to seeing him again, but it seemed like eternity until then. Even though you were determined to stay hopeful, you could not ignore the emptiness Damian's absence brought you.
Desperately wanting to express his feelings, Damian struggled to think of any words that would adequately let you know. Then, an idea struck him: why not flirt with you? A smile spread across Damian's face as he began typing out a text message to you, hoping it would make your heart light up like his.
“Hey babe,” he texted. "I miss you like crazy. I can't wait to see you again."
He hit send and waited anxiously for your response.
Your response was everything he'd hoped for and more.
"I miss you too, baby. But you know what they say: absence makes the heart grow fonder."
Damian smiled to himself. You were so clever, and he loved the way you make him feel. He quickly texted you back.
"Yes, it does. But I don't think the heart needs to grow any fonder than it already is."
Again, he waited for your response and was pleasantly surprised when it came back almost immediately.
"You're so sweet. But I think it needs to get even fonder."
Damian couldn't help but chuckle. You were really pulling out all the stops, and he was loving it.
"I'm sure it can get fonder," he texted back. "But how?"
He knew he was pushing his luck, but he couldn't help it. He was feeling playful, and he wanted to see how far he could take this game.
The response came back almost immediately.
"I guess you'll just have to wait and find out when you get back," you wrote.
Damian smiled to himself. He was really enjoying this. He quickly texted you back, wanting to play along.
"I guess I'll just have to wait then. Looking forward to it."
Your response was just what he'd been hoping for.
"Me too. I can't wait."
He smiled to himself, feeling a warmth spread through his body. He was missing you, but this was helping. It was almost like you were here with him.
He quickly texted you back.
"I miss you so much. It's never enough with you."
Your response was just as passionate, if not more so.
"I feel the same way about you. Nothing ever feels like enough when we're apart."
He felt a surge of happiness course through him. He'd missed you so much, and hearing that you felt the same way made it all the more special.
"I can't wait to see you," he texted, feeling a wave of anticipation wash over him.
Your response was just what he'd been hoping for.
"Me too. I miss you so much. I can't wait to be in your arms again."
"I miss you too," he texted back. "I can't wait to feel your lips on mine again."
"Me too. I can't wait for us to be together again." You texted.
Damian couldn't help but smile. He quickly texted you back.
"I'm counting down the days until I can hold you in my arms again."
Your response was the perfect final touch.
"I'm counting down the minutes."

Until Another Richie Comes Along...
(UPDATE: For anyone who didn't see the live show or digital ticket and are wondering what the fuck I'm talking about, they actually changed the lyrics from the original show for the album and proshoot. This post is about what Max originally sings.)
Well folks, we’re a couple of weeks into the digital ticket run, and I can’t stop thinking about the “who will pray for me” section of “Nerdy Prudes Must Die." Aside from just sounding incredible, it's a vitally important moment for Max’s character, especially as it comes right after “Go Go Nighthawks” and the scene in which Richie finally befriends the popular kids. As much as he claims to be above revenge, Max’s pain clearly shapes Richie’s torment in a very specific way. And it almost…makes me really feel for our literal monster?
Just look at the lyrics.
“Who will pray for me when my body’s gone?” is bad enough. Max has been gone for two weeks, and we get this whole sequence about how his classmates and “friends” just… don’t care. If anything, they’re happy he’s gone. As valid as their response is, there’s something incredibly lonely and horrifying about someone’s disappearance eliciting nothing but a shrug and a “fuck that guy” from those who knew them best. The people Max spent his childhood alongside have no grief to offer, no prayers for the vanished body. And then…
Well, and then we have “until another Richie comes along.” Obnoxious, nerdy Richie with his overactive sweat glands, who is so “unimportant” that Max kept him ground into dust for mere idle amusement. But suddenly Max is gone and all of his “friends” fill the vacancy by literally bringing Richie into their circle (football huddle). They befriend him because they can, they are kind to him because they want to be, they accept him with open hearts. As the person stepping into space left open by Max, it’s almost as if Richie is “another Max” who's come along, one very different from the first, and Max’s people really like the replacement better. That has to hurt.
And so Max puts Richie into his shoes, demanding that Richie wrestle with the same idea of insignificance that Max himself has just encountered. Will those who failed to pray for Max take time to pray for Richie? Who will be the next person added to the huddle in his stead? It’s interesting that Richie receives the most brutal and drawn-out death of anyone—he’s being punished not just for Max’s death or for being a “nerdy prude,” or even for defying Max’s social hierarchy, but for doing so in a way that makes him the face of everything Max has just learned he never really had.
Max spent his life tormenting classmates to make up for being tormented at home. The other kids deserve to feel the way they do about his absence, and the far kinder, gentler Richie deserved to live a long and happy life. But just like Max’s gleeful speech before his fall, like his attempts to protect Steph from the haunted house or his offer to carry Grace’s books, Max’s Act 1 finale moment of monstrous apotheosis ironically recalls the real, hurting person who lurks underneath.
And part of me can't help but just think “this poor kid.”

"Ohh yeah yeah
You smile
You smile
Oh and then the spell was cast"
Tumblr media
You sighed happily as you wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him closer to you as you felt his hands leave your cheeks, sliding down to your waist where he held you. Your tongues gently wrestled, neither of you wanting to dominate the kiss, simply bask in the other's presence. You felt his grip tighten as you softly sucked his bottom lip, a quiet moan leaving him before he began the kiss again, this time more eagerly while pulling you closer. You'd be lying if you said that Ralph and yourself hadn't been in this exact position many times in the past week, after that night he would ask to kiss you at any chance he could, even though you told him he didn't have to ask, the sweet boy still always waited for permission. The kissing had been clumsy at first, passionate but clumsy, to which he profusely apologized before explaining, while completely flushed, that he had never REALLY kissed anyone before either. You were each other's first on everything it seemed, including…
"Ah!" He whimpered when he felt you grind down on him, your position in his lap making the movement easier, it also made it easier to feel what you could do to him with just a simple kiss.
"Ralphie" you whined, repeating the motion.
"Darling…we-we can't" he panted, yet his hands did nothing to stop your hips…In fact he helped move them.
"But Ralphie, surely there are other things we could do?" You pouted, Ralph had told you that he wanted to wait until your wedding night for the two of you to give yourselves to each other, he said it was romantic, becoming truly one on the day you promise yourselves to one another.
"We-we should wait" he moaned, hips pushing up to meet yours, dragging a moan from your lips that had a whimper falling from his, you knew this was hard for him, waiting, just like it was hard for you. You had to give him an A for Patience though, because yours was running thin.
"Ralphie" you sighed, leaning in to kiss him again just as you heard the door open.
"Ugh really?on the couch?" Lauren asked in a voice full of disgust as she came into the room, followed by the other's. You quickly scrambled off of Ralph while he grabbed a nearby pillow and pressed it over his lap. Both of you were flushed and breathing quickly as you righted yourself, Jason snickering at the two of you.
"Oh it's young love Lauren" Victoria stated before looking at the two of you.
"But really please not the furniture, at least not in here" you both nodded, slightly jumping as she let the large folder fall to the table with a loud 'thud'.
"Now, we already have the venue, and the food, we also have the band" Victoria started, looking over at your friends who had happily agreed to play at your wedding…well…Horace and Jason had happily agreed, Lauren thought this was crazy but was happy you were happy, and Nick tried to talk you out of it but after you explained the whole "perhaps your past life was actually where you were now" he went on a rant about how that could possibly me true and then he was ok with the idea.
"But we still have much to do. We still need an overall theme, I'm thinking glitz and glamour" she smiled excitedly, of course that's what she was thinking. You looked over at Ralph, your hand coming to hold his and bringing his attention away from the large folder.
"What about you Ralphie, what would you like our wedding to be?" You asked, watching as he smiled at the simple sentence, you had noticed it a few other times, the way he would get both giddy and completely melt at the words "our wedding".
"Oh no my love, anything you want, this is your big day" he told you, and you leaned over to kiss him, him happily returning it.
"No sweetheart, this is our big day, both of us get a say" you explained, you knew he wasn't used to it, you knew Victoria usually planned everything and ran everything, but she wasn't about to do that for your wedding. You appreciated her helping, but her brother would have a say in this.
"I think glamourous would be a wizard idea" he started, making Victoria clap, though his eyes never left yours.
"But instead of diamonds covering everything…we have the colors be black and gold? With a few crystals and pearls maybe" he finished, you could easily see his vision, and honestly it was beautiful.
"That sounds breathtaking," you smiled.
"Why black and gold?" Victoria asked, kind of upset he didn't share her vision.
"Because it's elegant," he started
"And because…the first night we danced together…the first night I fell in love with (y/n), she was wearing a black and gold dress" he smiled…Oh how this boy could make your heart flutter.
"Oh Ralphie" you smiled, cupping his cheek and kissing him gently, a kiss that he happily returned.
"Very well, black and gold it is" Victoria stated, slightly disappointed, but also slightly happy her brother had found someone to marry.
"Well now that we have the colors we can work on the venue decor, the flowers, the cake, the invitations. (Y/n) dear we need to shop for your dress and the bridesmaids dresses, Ralph sweetie you need your tux and the groomsmen tuxes" Victoria rambled. Victoria took her job as future sister-in-law, and maid of honor very seriously. You remember asking Victoria to be your maid of honor, she was pressing you to know who you'd choose, and though originally you were going to pick Lauren, the look on her face said "pick me and I'll kill you" so you quickly chose Victoria, earning an excited cheer and rib crushing hug.
"What shall we check off today?" Ralph asked, slipping his hand into yours, gently running his finger against your engagement ring.
"As much as possible" Victoria started.
"Why don't we go see about the cake, flowers, and invitations, and then we can all meet at the Ritz for lunch, afterwards Victoria and I will shop for dresses while Ralphie, you and the group can shop for suits" you suggested.
"That's a marvelous idea!" Victoria exclaimed, already standing with her folder.
"Wizard idea my love" Ralph smiled, leaning in but pausing for a moment to look at you, after your small nod he gave you a quick peck before standing, pulling you with him.
"Alright, what time should we meet up?" Jason asked Victoria, who then looked at the clock, it was already seven a.m…their sleep schedule was another thing you had to get used to.
"How about one? Should give us ample time to get done" Victoria told him, earning nods from everyone before quick goodbyes were exchanged and you were whisked out of the building. The first stop was the florist, who, after telling your vision to, suggested white Peonies, white Anemones and a beautiful flower he called a black velvet Petunia. A combination which paired with some branches and ribbon he said he could get in black and gold sounded amazing. Pleased with your ideas for the centerpieces and bouquet you all moved onto the invitations. Which surprisingly didn't take long, after telling the colors the woman happily showed you a few options, saying she could get them in your colors and Ralph absolutely fell in love with the script and beautiful envelope, so of course you happily chose those. Next…The cake. You knew this part would take a bit, and it was at this, as you all sat down you realized you didn't even know what Ralph's favorite flavor of cake was.
"What is your favorite flavor Ralphie?"
"What flavor do you prefer, my love?" You both asked, pausing for a moment before laughing.
"I suppose we had the same thought," you smiled.
"I suppose we did," he smiled, leaning over as you gave him a quick kiss, his hand taking a hold of yours.
"I quite like (f/f)" you told him, watching as his face lit up.
"And here I thought you couldn't be even more divine, that's my favorite as well" he told you, watching as your face lit up as well. Ralph enjoyed every time your face did that, light up with happiness due to him, he was quickly finding himself becoming addicted to it. He was pulled from his thoughts though when the baker who they must have went to for their lavish parties walked over.
"My two favorite clients" she smiled, before looking over at you.
"And who is this?"
"This is (y/n)" Victoria introduced before Ralph added excitedly.
"My fiance"
"Oh my God" she gasped, quickly sitting down.
"You're getting married?! Oh Ralph I'm so happy for you!" She exclaimed.
"Your mother would be so happy" she told him in a calmer tone, taking his hand in hers and earning quick nods from him, he didn't speak though, and when you looked at him you could see withheld tears. You gently ran your thumb along the hand that still held yours, earning his attention as you gave him a gentle smile, he smiled back, a small tear slipping down his cheek that you quickly wiped away.
"Mother would have loved you" he whispered.
"I would have loved her too, after all, I have her to thank for bringing you into this world" you told him, hand still cupping his cheek.
"Ok now you are going to make me cry" the woman sniffled, letting go of Ralph's hand and gently wiping her eyes.
"Lucile was a friend of our mother's," Victoria explained.
"She was practically my sister, we grew up together, and I can tell you right now that the love I just saw displayed…she would be overjoyed by" she told you, making your heart clench while you looked over at Ralph. You smiled and leaned in, him quickly following your lead and sharing a quick kiss.
"Ok, before anymore tears are shed, what are we thinking for the big day?"
"Our colors are black and gold" Ralph explained, and you were shocked Victoria hadn't answered, looking over you saw her smiling at her brother as he happily talked to Lucile and you wondered how often they saw this woman as children, she sounded like she would have been a sort of aunt figure to them, maybe that is why she sat back and let him talk…maybe this whole time Victoria cut him off with strangers as a weird way of protecting him?
"Oh, so elegant, do we have flowers?" She asked, looking over at you to bring you into the conversation.
"Oh yes, White Peonies, White Anemones, and Black Velvet Petunias" you told her.
"That combination and color palette are already giving me ideas" she smiled, looking down to sketch out a design. When she finally showed you all the picture, all you could think was how perfect it was. A six layer cake, the first white with a gold filigree at the bottom, the second a black layer with gold interwoven cross hatching, the third a layer covered in gold sparkle, the fourth another white layer with gold at the top and piped white petals, the fifth a black layer with draped gold pearls, and the very bottom layer would be black with gold lacing at the top and bottom. It would also be decorated with your flowers.
"Oh my" you gasped, Ralph looked over at you just as struck by the image and with a shared glance you both knew, that was your wedding cake.
"We love it!" Ralph exclaimed.
"Wonderful!" She said just as excitedly
"Now do we have a flavor in mind?"
"Well (y/n) and I both enjoy (f/f)" he told her.
"But we were thinking about perhaps making each layer different- for our guests" he added
"I do believe Victoria enjoys chocolate, don't you?" You asked, a slight teasing smile on your lips as you looked to your soon to be sister, who for the first time since you've met him, blushed.
"I do enjoy a good chocolate" she smiled back at you, earning a giggle from the both of you.
"We can definitely do that, we can have the top layer as well as the bottom layer be (f/f) and then the rest be different" she told you, before excusing herself to go grab some samples of their other flavors. After trying them and choosing the flavors you wanted she told you she would have it in time for your chosen date, a few shared hugs later you were just about to head out when she stopped you, asking if she could talk to you alone. You nodded to Ralph and watched as he walked out with Victoria.
"I just wanted to have a word. I've known those two since I was young and they were babies, Ralph is like a nephew to me"
"I can definitely see that" you smiled.
"It makes me so happy to know that he's found someone who loves him, I saw it in the way you looked at him today, and the way you interact with him…I know Ralph can be a handful, he's always been a very eccentric boy, but you are patient with him, you let him talk and get his thoughts out and I just wanted to tell you that I truly appreciate that dear. I know that he is in good and loving hands, and I hope you know that you are as well" she smiled, her words making you blink back tears, this woman who had seen your Ralphie as a baby, watched him grow up, was thanking you for something that came so naturally…Loving him.
"You don't have to thank me, I'm just happy I found him. He's unlike any man I've ever met, he makes me feel so seen and…Honestly he makes me feel like a princess, he really is my prince charming" you smiled.
"Then dear, I'm so happy to provide the cake for your fairytale" she smiled, leaning in to hug you, a hug you happily returned before she ushered you out.
"Don't make him wait" she smiled, and with that you left, and sure enough, as soon as you left Ralph's hand was in yours.
"What was that all about?" Victoria asked as you all began to head to the jewelry store since some things had gone faster than expected so you had time, and both you and Ralph needed wedding bands.
"She just wanted to tell me how happy she was, and how she was thankful Ralphie and I are together" you smiled, earning a smile from the both of them.
"She has always been like an aunt or even a second mother to us" Ralph told you.
"Do you remember when you got into the garden at her house, you tore up all her carrots and she disciplined you. Ralph wouldn't stop being upset about it for a week, he thought she truly hated him" Victoria told the story and you looked over to see Ralph blushing as she revealed his secrets.
"Awe Ralphie"
"What about when she caught you kissing the boy down the road behind her garden shed?" Ralph replied quickly, making Victoria gasp, not only at the fact that he brought up the memory, but the fact he stood up to her.
"What about when you put on that play in her living room? The one you wrote yourself and you insisted on playing every part, even the girls, you kept changing between a suit and a dress"
"Are there pictures of this?" You chimed in, causing Victoria to smile and Ralph to look over at you, a small whimper coming from him at you being happy about the embarrassing story.
"Oh you were probably so adorable though, being so happy to play out your story" you told him, looking into those puppy dog eyes, that was what you had come to realize Ralph slightly reminded you of in the time you had been with him, a very happy and loveable puppy.
"It's embarrassing" he whined, looking away from you.
"But it was something you were passionate about, and therefore that makes it adorable" you told him, leaning up to kiss his cheek and watching as he beamed at you, quickly leaning down to capture your lips. The two of you shared a brief kiss before walking into the jewelry store.
"Hello again" the man smiled, after all it had only been a little over a week since you were in here buying jewelry on your shopping trip.
"What can I help you with?"
"We're looking for wedding bands, well, they are looking for wedding bands" Victoria explained, the man looked over at the two of you and smiled.
"Ah yes, the Ruby engagement ring, I'm glad to see it was accepted"
"Happily so" Ralph beamed as you both walked towards the counter.
"Well you are in luck my friends, the engagement ring actually came with a matching wedding band" he told you, pulling out the tray and showing that there was in fact a matching band. A beautiful band with oval shapes that had two Rubies and four smaller diamonds in each. In between five larger diamonds.
"Well we most certainly have to get that" Ralph smiled at you.
"Now we just need to find one for you," you replied.
"I'd be honored if you picked it out" he told you, his eyes gazing into yours with complete seriousness.
"Oh Ralphie, are you sure?"
"Completely, knowing you chose it for me makes it all the more special" he smiled, watching as your gaze softened even more, a look of pure love in your eyes before you leaned in and captured his lips.
"It's me who would be honored" you whispered, your breath fanning against his face and making him dizzy, truly the wedding couldn't get here fast enough for him. He watched you slowly look through all of the wedding bands, giving each one a thorough inspection to find one you felt really fit him. He watched you with such love, getting lost in every detail of you that he slightly jumped when you finally spoke.
"Ah ha! That one" you smiled up at the man from your crouched position, having gotten down to get a better look. He watched you point to a tray and the man pull it out for you, you happily standing before looking over at him.
"This one" you smiled. He looked over at the ring and gasped, it had oval shapes as well, though these ovals were pure diamonds, with triangles pointing up and down in between each oval, and each of the triangles has a smaller diamond. Truly it was a beautiful ring.
"It's beautiful" he spoke still in awe, this was what made you think of him? It was so beautiful and elegant and surely this was too much right? Surely you didn't see him as a diamond?
"A beautiful ring for a beautiful boy" you smiled, his face flushed completely as his eyes snapped to you, beautiful doe eyes wide at your words.
"I think it's perfect," you smiled. Watching as he swallowed, trying to collect himself after your compliment.
"If you think it's perfect than so do I my love" he smiled.
"I'll wrap them up" the man smiled at your little scene. After that you all were off to the Ritz for lunch and to meet up with your friends. The lunch was great, you all chatted happily while you ate, though the one thing you didn't care for was how one of the waitresses kept staring at Ralph. You leaned over and kissed his cheek just as he took a bite, causing the boy to quickly look over at you, to which you simply smiled at him.
"Just cause" you told him, watching as he leaned forward after swallowing, you happily gave him a quick kiss on the lips before hearing your friends pipe up.
"Alright not while I'm eating" Lauren told the two of you, causing you both to laugh. But Ralph slid his hand across the table, taking yours in his before bringing it up to his lips.
"I can't wait to marry you," he smiled.
"Neither can I Ralphie"
"Is there anything else I can get you?" The waitress asked, well, asked Ralph who didn't even bother to look at her, figuring she was addressing Victoria as most people did.
"No thank you, unless you all are ready to go?" You told her, looking around at everyone.
"Yes I think we better go if we want to find you a good wedding dress" Victoria smiled, having seen the woman eyeing her brother as well.
"Oh! You're getting married?" The girl asked, eyes now on you.
"Yes" you smiled, holding up the hand that was still grasping Ralph's but still able to show the ring.
"My, that is a lovely ring" she gasped.
"Thank you, my Ralphie does love to spoil me" you smiled at Ralph, leaning in to give him another quick kiss that had the boy beaming.
"Anything for you my love" he mused. And you watched the girl slightly huff.
"Right, I'll be back with the check" she stated before quickly leaving.
"I think you just broke that poor girl's heart," Lauren laughed.
"Her heart and eyes were in the wrong place" you shrugged.
"What do you mean?" Ralph asked, looking between you and Lauren before looking over at the waitress, completely unaware of what just silently happened between you two.
"She…it's nothing" you laughed.
"The girl was eyeing you, and (y/n) was not so subtly telling her that you were off the market" Lauren explained. Making you look at her, and Ralph to look at you, wide-eyed. Ralph had his own worries in the back of his mind that you would one day wake up and change your mind, saying you didn't want him. But to hear that you were telling other women that he was yours, it made his heart flutter…and his pants tight. Coughing he subtly slipped his napkin onto his lap and leaned forward to try to hide himself from your view.
"Love, you don't have to worry, I'm all yours" he smiled, leaning in to kiss you, lips just inches away when he heard the voice of the waitress again.
"Your check" his eyes opened, noticing yours staring behind him, he quickly closed the gap, hand coming to rest of your cheek as he kissed you, an unspoken "I'm yours". When he pulled away the waitress was gone, and all of your friends were smirking.
"We better go then" Victoria laughed while standing.
"Yes let's" Ralph nodded, standing as well and taking your hand to help you up. You all walked outside and into the busy street.
"Well, this is where we part ways" you told him, watching as he looked at you, the sadness showing clear in those amber eyes.
"You can't see the bride's dress before the wedding, it's bad luck" you told him, cupping his cheek.
"The wedding can't come soon enough" he told you.
"It really can't" you smiled, before quickly kissing him as you let go of his hand. You back away to stand next to Victoria, Ralph still looking at you.
"I won't keep her long"Victoria told him, placing her hands on your shoulders.
"She'll be back in your arms by the end of the day Ralph, she needs to get her dress, and you all need to find your suits" she explained, hooking her arm through yours.
"Now off you go" she shooed him and began pulling you away. You look back at Ralph just as he looked back at you. You smiled and blew him a kiss, watching as he caught it and held it to his chest, smiling as well.
"I hope you don't mind, I invited some friends to help, I figured we could make an event out of this special moment" she said once you both reached the dress shop. You didn't know any of Victoria's friends, but it did make you nervous, Victoria came from money, and most likely so did her friends, you on the other hand did not, you were from very different social classes.
"Oh no I don't mind" you lied, walking with her to where three other girls sat.
"(Y/n) this is Florence, Josephine, and Lillian, my three best friends" Victoria beamed, gesturing to a redheaded woman with a bright red dress on, a blond woman wearing a gray dress with a fur shawl, and lastly a black haired woman with a gold dress.
"Ladies this is my soon to sister-in-law (y/n)" Victoria introduced.
"Hello" you smiled, shyly waving at the women.
"Hello dear" the one named Josephine smiled.
"Hello" Lillian nodded.
"So Ralph actually convinced someone to marry him?" Josephine asked, looking at you then Victoria…oh…this one was going to be trouble.
"It didn't take much convincing, her and my brother are madly in love" Victoria explained.
"Really?" She asked.
"Yes" you piped up, earning her attention.
"Ralph is everything I've ever looked for in a man" you told her.
"Except for the man part" she mumbled, earning a slap to her leg from Josephine. Ok this one was already pissing you off.
"Let's start looking shall we dear" Josephine smiled, standing up and taking your other arm as she and Victoria led you around the shop. It didn't take Victoria long to find a dress she loved for her maid of honor dress, but by the time you went into the dressing room both Victoria and Josephine were holding five dresses each for you to try on.
The first one you tried on was not your style at all, but it was very much Victoria's the slim white dress was completely covered in silver beads and jewels with a matching headband and gloves, you knew this wasn't the one but you came out to show everyone anyways.
"Oh that is absolutely beautiful! Completely not your style dear but beautiful on you" Victoria smiled.
"I think this would be much better suited as your wedding dress Victoria" you laughed but admired yourself in the mirror.
"Victoria getting married? Now that would be a sight to see" Florence laughed.
"I could see her in it though" Lillian added, causing Florence to roll her eyes.
"Let's try on another one" Josephine clapped, you simply nodded and tried on the next, which was a much longer gown, no jewels this time but it did have a lace overlay. Overall it was a very simple but elegant dress, and your crowd thought as much.
"It's a little…Plain" Josephine stated.
"Yeah I thought that too" you said.
"Not sure if it would go with the theme" you added.
"Oh what is your theme?" Josephine smiled
"Victoria probably picked it out since Ralph usually just sits in the back and lets Victoria run the show" Florence laughed..ok why was she here again? She didn't even sound like a friend to Victoria at this point.
"Actually Ralph did choose the theme" Victoria defended her brother.
"Oh no" Florence started before turning to you.
"I would say I feel sorry for you but you did sign up for this"
"The theme is Black and Gold" you stated, turning away from Florence to face Josephine.
"Ralphie picked it because of the dress I wore on the first night we danced together, he said that was when he started falling in love with me" you smiled, hearing a snort from Florence, but Josephine was beaming.
"That is so romantic!' she sighed.
"We definitely need to find you the right dress," she quickly added.
"Definitely!"
The next few dresses were ok but still not the one, though one you did like that was kind of fun was one that was more of what you think of when you think of a "flapper" style dress. Different layers of beads that moved when you danced, there were also crystals on the bodice down to the hips.
"I think that would be more for the reception, more fun to dance in" Victoria smiled excitedly.
"Oh Ralph would love that, and paired with my tap shoes" you smiled back, twisting back and forth to watch the beads swing.
"Oh he'd fall in love all over again" she laughed.
"I say we get it as a party dress then" Josephine clapped excitedly.
"I agree, we are getting that one too" Victoria nodded before shooing you back into the changing room. A few more dresses and a few more nos, until the very last dress that you slipped into your body. A long fitted dress that flared at the bottom, the neckline was a deep V, showing off your collarbones and the top of your breasts. The sleeves were short but long enough to deal over the tops of your arms, and the best part, it was bejeweled. Not in an obviously overly jeweled sort of way, but in jewels that didn't even look like they were there until you moved and they caught the light. Walking out you knew you had a smile on your face that simply screamed "this is the one". All the women looked shocked, even Florence and Lillian. But it was Victoria who spoke up first as you admired yourself in the mirror.
"You look beautiful" she breathed, you looked at her through the mirror, her hand placed on her chest and held back tears in her eyes.
"Awe, Victoria" you turned, walking over to hug her.
"I'm fine dear but you…This is the one" she whispered.
"It really is" you smiled at her, turning back to the mirror, and suddenly, suddenly it all began to sink in…you were in the 1920's…Getting married to a man you had only really known for a little over a week but were already completely in love with…This was crazy, the few friends you had back home would say you were completely insane, and yet…You couldn't be happier.
"Oh wait!" Josephine jumped from her seat, running off excitedly before quickly returning, she helped you put on the full length while silk gloves, putting large crystal earrings in your ears and placing a jeweled headband on your head, a headband that had a long veil attached to it.
"I'm getting married" you breathed, honestly you didn't think this day would ever come, not for you,not the second choice.
"You're getting married" Victoria spoke behind you, fixing the veil before placing her hands on your shoulders, looking at you through the mirror.
"Ralph will be so in love" she smiled.
"Do you think she's found a dress yet?" Ralph asked as he straightened his suit in the mirror.
"Not sure, you know how women are with dresses," Lauren replied, fixing her tie.
"Lauren, you are a woman" Jason laughed.
"Fuck off" she huffed.
"No she has a point, she's with my sister, she's probably had a mountain of dresses to try on, especially if my sister brought any of her friends"Ralph told Jason.
"Your sister has friends?" Jason asked, instantly intrigued.
"Down perv" Lauren scolded.
"Yes…Well…I suppose you could call them friends. They are more of the, how do you put it"
"Talk shit about you behind your back?" Lauren fished.
"Yes, except they don't wait til you can't hear" Ralph explained.
"Oof, who needs friends like that?" Horace asked?
"Victoria I suppose" Ralph shrugged
"They've never quite cared for me, so I do hope they aren't taking their displeasure for me out on (y/n)"
"I'm just shocked is all" Florence stated, all of them were whispering but we're still loud enough for you to hear.
"We love you Victoria you know that, but your brother is a bit…" she started.
"Overzealous, hyperactive, easily excitable" Lillian listed.
"Honestly…we thought he was…You know" Florence added. You knew what they were referring to. Simply because Ralph took care of himself and presented himself well they took it as him being a "dandy", it couldn't simply be because that's just who he was.
"My brother can be a bit…Much. But yes they are getting married" Victoria defended.
"Does the poor girl know what she's getting into?" Lillian asked
"He'll follow her around like a puppy dog, she'll have no peace"
"If she didn't know him do you think they would be getting married?" Josephine questioned, at least her and Victoria were on your side.
"I'm just questioning her sanity is all…unless" Florence stopped.
"Unless what?" Victoria asked, sounding slightly annoyed.
"Unless…she's only after his money"
What?! How dare she think that was what you were after, sure both he and Victoria both spoiled you, and every time you felt bad about it, but you would never be with someone simply for money.
"Florence!" Josephine started, but you cut her off, having come out from behind the curtain.
"You know nothing about me and yet you sit here and call me a gold digger? I wouldn't care if Ralph didn't have a penny to his name, I would still marry him. Why? Because I love him! Yes he can be intense, but that's just how he shows his love, and yes he can be hyper but only when he's passionate. Yes he is like a puppy dog at times but I'm fully ok with that because I adore him, he makes me feel loved and seen for the first time in my life. I'm not like you all are, obviously, I'm not wealthy, or overly beautiful, I've never had men falling at my feet from a simple look. I know this, and yet even if I had all of that, I would trade it all for him. Because honestly…He's everything I ever wanted, but never thought I deserved" you finished, before quickly adding.
"And having good hygiene, and taking care of yourself and your looks doesn't make you gay! I'm sorry that none of the men you have met have cared whether or not they look like shit" and with that you turned and walked towards the counter, leaving a stunned Florence and Lillian, a laughing Josephine, and a smiling Victoria.
"Well ladies, it's been a pleasure as always, I do hope you show up to the wedding" she smiled.
"I wouldn't miss it" Josephine smiled, but Florence and Lillian stayed silent. Victoria nodded and met you at the counter. She quickly paid and grabbed your arm, leading you outside.
"Can I just say," she started as you walked down the street towards home.
"That that little speech was the bravest and nicest thing anyone has ever done for my brother" she smiled.
"I'm sorry I was probably out of line"
"Oh heavens no, no they needed that…and getting to see Florence and Lillian be completely stunned was absolutely perfect" she laughed.
"Was all of it true?" She asked, looking over at you.
"Of course, every word" you answered, causing her to pull you closer.
"Then I am so happy my brother found you"
"There is the love of my life" Ralph said as soon as you stepped through the door, his arms around you as he pulled you to him.
"Ralph we were only gone for a couple of hours" Victoria sighed, taking the dresses upstairs.
"A couple hours is far too long" he told her, you couldn't help but giggle and lean in to kiss him, a kiss he happily accepted before tucking his face into your neck.
"I missed you so much"
"I missed you too Ralphie, my sweet little puppy"
"Puppy?"
"Yeah, it came up today, the comparison…I can see it" he gave such an adorable confused look before simply smiling, leaning back into your neck.
"As long as I'm your puppy" he sighed.
"You are, my sweet puppy"
The following weeks were a flurry of finalizing everything and getting things prepared. You all knew that weddings should have taken months to properly get put together, but you all also knew that you and Ralph didn't necessarily want to wait that long…So a month it was. Everything felt crazy, a whirlwind of events leading up to the big day, but here you are, sitting inside a lavish room trying not to cry and ruin your makeup as Victoria finishes your hair.
"This doesn't feel real," you breathed.
"None of this does" Lauren stated from her seat on the couch, you caught her eyes in the mirror and knew exactly what she meant, and your mind flashed back to the day you had told Ralph everything.
"So it's all real" he breathed, looking at your passport that held your birth date.
"Yes, I know it sounds completely bonkers," you laughed.
"But everything I told you was the truth" you stated, waiting on bated breath for him to speak, it was unusual for Ralph to be this quiet.
"Ralphie?" You asked hesitantly
"It doesn't matter where or even when you came from" he stated while looking over at you.
"I'm just simply glad you came into my life" he smiled.
"I think you're ready dear" Victoria smiled at you through the mirror, you stood, going behind the screen to change into your gown and earning a small gasp from them both when you stepped back out.
"Now the gloves and jewelry" Victoria nodded, blinking back her own tears as she hurried to grab your things. Your eyes met Lauren's and you smiled.
"You look beautiful," she nodded.
"Thank you, and thank you for messaging me that day, all those years ago…if you hadn't, we wouldn't have become friends, I wouldn't have come to visit and….I wouldn't be here right now" you told her, truly grateful for your friendship.
"Yeah you do really owe it all to me huh?" She smirked, causing you to laugh.
"Yes I do"
"Well, my payment is you and Ralph going anywhere else for your honeymoon yeah? I don't need to hear…that" she told you, her face scrunching up in disgust.
"Oh don't worry, they will in fact have a honeymoon spot far, far away from us all" Victoria noted, handing you your gloves to put on before helping you with your veil. You slipped off your engagement ring to put it on over the glove.
"I love you and my brother dearly but I don't exactly want to hear you taking my brother's virginity" she told you, causing Lauren to laugh.
"Ok that's fair" you giggled.
"Though it would be a mutual taking"
"Either way dear…there…now you're ready" she told you, and you turned to look at yourself in the mirror, willing yourself not to cry because this was it…You were getting married.
You met Horace at the main doors, you had asked him to walk you down the aisle as he had been your comfort many times in the past when you became overwhelmed or sad, a request he happily agreed to.
"You look beautiful (y/n)" he smiled
"You look quite dashing yourself" you smiled back and straightened his tie.
"Are you ready?"
"Shockingly…I've never been more ready for something, this is where I'm suppose to be, I know it" you told him, taking his arm and waiting for your que. You heard the music begin, signaling it was time, and with a deep breath, you both entered the room. All eyes landed on you with a gasp, but those eyes weren't the ones you were searching for, the ones you sought out were at the end of the aisle. That beautiful amber gaze, glossed over with tears as he watched you walk towards him, you saw him gasp, and try to calm himself as you neared him, his hand quickly coming up to wipe away the tears. By now you were already shedding a few yourself, and you hope you hadn't messed up your makeup.
"You look so beautiful" he breathed, voice shaking as he took your hand from Horace, smiling at the man.
"You look so handsome" you smiled, taking him in, his black and gold suit nothing less than you expected from him.
"I can't believe I get to marry you" he smiled, another tear falling, one which you quickly wiped away.
"I can't believe it either Ralphie"
"Shall we begin?" The officiant asked, without looking away from each other you both nodded.
"Welcome, loved ones. We are gathered here today to join (y/n) and Ralph in holy matrimony." They said to the crowd while you and Ralph held each other's hands.
"Ralph, we'll start with you, please repeat after me" they spoke, speaking and waiting for Ralph to repeat.
"(Y/n), I promise to cherish you always, to honor and sustain you, in sickness and in health, in poverty and in wealth, and to be true to you in all things until death alone shall part us." He told you, eyes gazing into yours with the most seriousness you had ever seen from him, you knew he meant every word he said.
"(Y/n)" they spoke, and you repeated the words.
"Ralph, I promise to cherish you always, to honor and sustain you, in sickness and in health, in poverty and in wealth, and to be true to you in all things until death alone shall part us" you told him, with just as much seriousness, hoping that he knew your words were true.
"The couple has also prepared poems to read to one another, who would like to start?"
"I would…If that's alright?" Ralph asked, looking at you, you smiled and nodded, already trying to hold back tears again.
"I'm so sure that you're the one, with you I feel life's just begun. I feel it when I touch your skin, I feel it in my heart beating within. I look in your eyes and I know your story, I melt for your voice and it's glory. So many smiles, but I live for yours, you're my magic, my heart soars. I can't lose you, you are she, she who makes my life lovely. She who mends my broken pieces, she who smooths out my creases. I just know it, understand, I feel it when you hold my hand. Your laughter truly saves my life, and I wished one day you'd be my wife. I want to wake up in your hair, tangled up with you in there. When you're sick, I'll hug you tightly, and I'll remind you when we're fighting. That you're my princess, and I love you, that I'll do whatever it takes to keep you. That life goes on, that we are strong. That no matter what it seems, that you and I, we are a team. Just kiss me, make me feel young forever, let's laugh, and dance, and live together. Spend your life with me, it'll be fun, let me show you you're the one.So I swear to you, this is real, I promise you it's what I feel. You make me believe that love is true, I have a soulmate, and she is you." He finished, having to take a moment every now and then while reading to clear his throat and hold back tears, you on the other hand, were openly crying.
"Oh Ralphie" you whispered, and he wished he could lift your veil and wipe away your tears. But he watched you wipe them away yourself, trying to compose yourself so you could read your poem, he also took this moment to wipe his own eyes.
"It's funny, we both wrote soulmate poems" you laughed lightly, earning a giggle from him.
"You came into my life unexpectedly, and everything took a turn for the better. Your warm eyes, your laugh, the sincere way you speak. And the kindness you showed me all became a part of my life. As you unfolded yourself to me, I discovered more and more beauty. I have never seen so much gentleness in one person. Without even knowing it you were slowly making a place for yourself in my heart. It used to seem so hard at times, to feel so close in a relationship. But it's so easy to feel close to you, I can't tell you how nice that feels. I realize now that I had never known what it meant to be loved…until I was loved by you." You told him, your voice shaky and breaking at the end.
"My love" he breathed, reaching under the veil to cup your cheek, wiping away the tears.
"Mine wasn't as long, and it didn't rhyme but" you laughed, causing him to laugh as well, both of you trying to blink away tears.
"Shall we move onto the ring exchange?" The officiant asked, wiping their eyes as well. You could see Jason, Horace and Nick all trying to wipe their eyes and faces, and you knew the two women behind you were probably no better.
"Let's" Ralph nodded, Horace handed him your ring and he repeated the words told to him.
"With this ring I, Ralph, take you, (y/n), to be no other than yourself. Loving what I know of you, and trusting what I do not yet know, I will respect your integrity and have faith in your abiding love for me, through all our years, and in all that life may bring us." With that he slid the ring onto your finger, resting it against your engagement ring. He lifted your hand to his lips, kissing the rings before looking at you again.
Victoria handed you the ring for him before you repeated as well.
"With this ring I, (y/n), take you, Ralph, to be no other than yourself. Loving what I know of you, and trusting what I do not yet know, I will respect your integrity and have faith in your abiding love for me, through all our years, and in all that life may bring us." And with that you put the ring on him, deciding to mimic him and kiss his ring as well.
"I love you" you smiled.
"I love you more" he smiled back.
"By the power vested in me by the city of London, I now pronounce you husband and wife! You may kiss your bride" and with that, Ralph happily and hurriedly lifted your veil and leaned in to capture your lips, sealing your union, a union that you were more than happy about. You held his face as you two continued to kiss, the sounds of the claps and cheers dying out in your ears as you could only focus on him.
"My beautiful wife" he smiled once he pulled away, eyes staring deep into yours.
"My handsome husband" you smiled back, earning a heart stopping smile from him..husband…he would never get tired of hearing that.
The two of you walked back down the aisle hand and hand, officially married, but you knew the night was far from over.
You quickly excused yourself to change, telling Ralph that you'd only be gone for a moment as his arms wrapped around your waist, his lips capturing yours again.
"Don't wanna part" he whined against your lips.
"Finally have you"
"And you'll continue to have me, I just need to change so I don't trip over my dress while dancing" you giggle against his constant kisses.
"I'll hold your dress" he giggled.
"Two seconds, that's all I need" you told him, your back pressed to the door of the room you were in earlier.
"Two seconds" he nodded, lips catching yours again.
"Two seconds" you confirmed, breaking the kiss and quickly running into the room. You got out of your wedding dress as quickly as you could, hanging it back up before quickly getting into your party dress and tap shoes. You came out just in time to see him emerging from a room down the hall, his suit the same but now there was a distinct tapping when he walked.
"Seemed we had the same idea" you smiled, catching his attention and watching as his eyes widened and mouth opened.
"You like?" You asked.
"You are absolutely stunning my love"
"Wanna see the best part?" You asked. Watching as he excitedly nodded. You stepped further into the hallways, watching as his eyes darted to your shoes upon hearing the tapping, his smile growing even bigger.
He watched you twist and show the layers of beads that swung along.
"Absolutely wizard!" He beamed, coming forward to catch your waist in his hands, a blush spreading to his cheeks at his own actions.
"Shall we go show everyone?" You asked, he nodded, though really Ralph wants to keep you all to himself at that moment. You two walk to the reception area, being greeted with more claps and cheers when you walk through the doors. Everyone is already seated and food is being served. You walk up to the main table, taking your seat between Victoria and Ralph, while Horace sits on the other side of Ralph. All of you eat, playful banter being thrown back and forth as you all laugh. You and Ralph go to cut your cake, absolutely marveling at the beautiful masterpiece that Lucile made.
"I don't want to cut it, it's so beautiful" you gasped, but alas you knew you had to, so you did, each of you feeding a piece to the other.
You tossed the bouquet and watched as Victoria caught it and Jason caught the garter, making you and Lauren both bust out laughing. Finally, after everything it was time for the first dance. The two of you came together just as your friends began to play.
"At last, my love has come along
My lonely days are over
And life is like a song"
You held onto Ralph, just as you had the first time you danced, still not believing this was all happening.
"I can't believe you're mine" he whispered, forehead resting against yours.
"I can't believe you're mine either" you whispered back.
"Ooh yeah, yeah
At last, the skies above are blue
My heart was wrapped up in clover
The night I looked at you"
"I never thought I would find anyone, I never thought someone could actually…deal with me" he stated, face coming to rest in your neck as he wrapped both arms around you, your own coming up to wrap around his neck.
"I found a dream, that I could speak to
A dream that I can call my own
I found a thrill to rest my cheek to
A thrill that I have never known"
"Oh Ralphie"
"I would never say that I am dealing with you my love. I love you, and I'll show you that everyday" you told him, causing him to untuck himself and look at you.
"I never thought I would find someone either, but I am so thankful to have found you" you smiled, earning a smile from him in return.
"And I'll show you everyday how much I love you in return" he told you, leaning in to capture your lips.
"Ohh yeah yeah
You smile
You smile
Oh and then the spell was cast
And here we are in heaven
For you are mine
At last"
After that the party got a bit crazier, everyone was on the dance floor, and with drinks flowing you all partied until the late night hours. You couldn't stop smiling and laughing as you danced with Ralph or Victoria or both. Even you and Josephine danced a few times. But the night slowly died down, everyone thanked you for an amazing time and you thanked them for coming. Giving an extra long hug to Lucile who confessed she bawled while you two got married. She told Ralph that she knew his mother was smiling at the union and that made both you and Ralph begin crying again. Once everyone was gone you and Ralph looked at one another.
"S-Should we head to our h-honeymoon?" he asked, suddenly very shy,and you knew exactly why.
"We do have to consummate the marriage" you smiled shyly, earning a darker blush from him while your own cheeks were tinted lightly.
"Yes we do…after you my beautiful wife" he nodded, holding the door for you.
"Thank you, my beautiful husband" you smiled, leaning in to capture his lips for a moment before walking towards the waiting car.

Shameless Self-Promotion: Comments Requested
Tumblr media
So, this fanfic universe kinda feels like my magnum opus of wrestling fic... I've written others, mostly AdaMJF/BTYBB fics (and I'm more than happy to share those links as well), but I started this CMJF verse with what was supposed to be a one-shot set in a world where Max is the heir to a rich New York family's business and fortune, and Punk is the older, poor as fuck, guitarist in a band who turned Max's life upside down. The first piece I wrote was Max drunkenly calling Punk after being abandoned a week before his wedding to Adam Cole, the guy his parents had approved of. But it grew... and grew... and grew.
Unfortunately, I've put in a lot of work, but haven't gotten much feedback on it. My AdaMJF stuff gets a decent amount of feedback, but CMJF not so much... maybe because they don't actually interact anymore, so the ship fandom is dying? IDEK. But I know there's a lot of AO3 writers on the old Tumblr, so I figure worst case? Nobody sees this and best case? I get some feedback!!
Anyways... without futher ado, let me link ya.
Toxicity Is a Virtue... or Something: A CMJF AU Universe Description: Maxwell Jacob Friedman is the golden son of a wealthy New York family. CM Punk is his parents’ worst nightmare.
Part 1: Watch Me Turn Your Mind Into My Home Summary: Max is slumming at a punk rock club with his friends. Punk is playing that club with his band. Worlds collide and shit gets messy. In Progress
Part 2: Why Are You Here? Summary: It's been a few months since Maxwell Jacob Friedman and CM Punk broke up, and they've both moved on. Or so they both think. Complete - One-shot
Part 3: Pretty When You Cry Summary: Max thought he had finally found the person who would love him forever -- who would never break his heart -- in the person of Adam Cole. But as usual? Max thought wrong. -or- 5 times Adam truly smiled at Max and 1 time he tried to but failed. Complete - One-shot
Part 4: Sick Like Me Summary: Maxwell Jacob Friedman is the son of one of New York City's richest families, and as such, his parents have been planning his life for a long time. CM Punk is the much older, much poorer guy he dated 5 years ago. Adam Cole is the charmer Max's parents loved until he left him a week before their wedding. Larry just wants a treat. In Progress

Title: My Wife, the Teacher
no intent to offend anyone
Dominik Mysterio was a WWE wrestler known for his in-ring ability and his wrestling legacy, but to you, he was so much more than that. He was your husband and the person you had decided to spend the rest of your life with.
You, on the other hand, were an elementary school teacher. You loved your students and enjoyed teaching them new things every day. You also loved your husband and supported his wrestling career, but sometimes you worried about his safety.
One afternoon, after a long day at school, you came home to find Dominik working out in his home gym. You approached him and told him that you were worried that he would get hurt during his fights.
Dominik smiled at you and told you that he was fine, that he was training hard to be in the best shape possible. Then he asked you how your day at school had been. You told him about a student who had trouble concentrating and how you had found a way to help him.
Dominik listened carefully and then hugged you. "You are an amazing teacher," he told you. "I'm proud of you".
That made you smile. You knew Dominik supported you in everything you did, but it was always good to hear it from him.
That night, while they were having dinner, Dominik surprised you with some news. "How would you like to join me on the road?" he asked.
You were surprised. You didn't know if you were ready to give up your teaching career, but the idea of being around Dominik all the time was enticing.
"I'll think about it," you told him.
Over the next few weeks, you thought a lot about Dominik's offer. You talked to your friends and family and finally decided that you were ready to take the plunge.
You told Dominik and he was excited. You started traveling with him and being in his matches, which gave you the opportunity to see him in action and support him from ringside.
You also started helping him with his training and he helped you stay in shape. Even though you missed your students, being with Dominik made you feel alive and excited for what was coming next.
One night, after a fight, Dominik surprised you with a romantic dinner in your hotel room. He told you that he loved you and that he was grateful to have you in his life.
"I love you too," you told him. "You are my husband, my best friend and my life partner."
That night, as you slept in his arms, you realized that you had made the right decision to join Dominik on the road. Despite the risks and challenges, you were happy to be by his side and support him in his career.
End.

After getting multiple requests for more soul crushing angst by multiple people, I have finally obliged. While writing, I was listining to Two by Sleeping At Last, and although the story isn’t based on the song, the line “I will love you without any strings attached” gets me every time so I had to make it a theme.
No Strings Attached// John
Tumblr media
⚠️WARNING⚠️ Mentions of being attacked, blood, and violence. The people have spoken and this is what they want.
For as long as she’d known John, everything came with strings attached. She wanted to join him and James on a trip to the docks? Only if she gave him half her lunch. She wanted him to bring her extra leftovers from Salome? Only if she helped him with his chores. That pretty much meant doing them all herself while he goofed off.
And when it wasn’t favors, it was contests.
“Hey if you beat me in a staring contest, I’ll give you this cool rock I found. I’ll probably get to keep it.”
“Oh, you’re on!”
“I just beat Andrew in arms wrestling and I think I can beat you.”
“What? No you couldn’t. I’d bet my lunch on it.”
“Hah! And I’d bet my dinner.”
No matter the circumstance, there was always strings attached. It’s how it had always been between the two. Deal after deal and bet after bet. It made their lives more interesting, more fun.
Even when Y/n began to follow Jesus along with her fishermen friends, their friendship never changed. It wasn't selfishness that kept these deals going. Y/n would've done anything for him, and she knew he would not hesitate to do the same. It was just a habit for the both of them. By now it was practically their love language.
And speaking of love, the contests really helped cover up her crush on him as well.
So never in a million years did Y/n ever imagine something would change that. Especially not something as simple as a walk.
...
"How about these? They look edible enough." Y/n picked a few berries off a branch, presenting them to Mary. Her friend shook her head, a small smile on her face. "Not unless you want to vomit for a week. Let's keep walking."
Y/n's shoulders slumped as she tossed the berries onto the ground. They'd been searching for too long now and she was starving. She could only imagine how much worse Jesus and the disciples felt after such a long day. She silently prayed they would happen upon something to eat.
Mary stopped in her tracks, pointing to a small tree in the clearing a head. "Look over there!"
Sure enough, the fruit of the tree looked ripe. If Mary was happy, they must've been edible. Y/n thanked Adoni for answering her prayer and hurried over to the tree.
After a quick inspection, the women began to fill their baskets. Y/n had to hold herself back from eating it all right there.
"It smells so sweet, I don't know how long I can wait."
Mary laughed, reaching for a taller branch. The larger fruits grew higher. "I know! I'm very excited to get back to camp."
"The boys will be happy we actually found..." Y/n paused halfway through her sentence. Mary froze as well, her hand lowering slowly.
They had heard a noise coming from the road.
Hesitantly, the two turned toward the sound. It was one both Y/n and Mary were familiar with, but they hoped they were wrong. But no matter how much they wished, there was no mistaking that noise. It was a horse clad in metal armor. A Roman horse.
Sure enough, a soldier came riding around the corner. Mary dropped her basket in fear.
Y/n's heart hurt for her friend. She only knew bits and pieces of her story, but enough to assume the trauma a Roman had caused her.
Without moving, Y/n whispered at her friend. "It's alright. Maybe he won't notice."
Not a second later, the man turned his head, staring straight at them. He had noticed.
Mary's breath hitched and Y/n stepped closer to her. She knew she had to do something before he came over. She needed to protect her friend. Slowly, Y/n faced the raven haired girl, placing her hands on her shoulders. "Mary, you need to get out of here. I will distract him."
The poor girl never tore her eyes off the man. She was horrified at the sight of him. Still, she managed to get a few words out. "But... but you'll be here-."
"No buts. I'll be fine." Y/n took a quick glance at the soldier. He had hopped off his horse. "Go back to camp and I'll catch up with you."
She nodded quickly and as soon at the Roman began to walk towards them, Mary took off in the direction of camp. Y/n watched as she disappeared into the trees, then began to walk quickly in the opposite way.
To her terror, the plan worked as the man ran after her. She sped up even more, hoping he would give up.
"Hey, woman!"
She lowered her head, beginning to sprint.
"Don't ignore me!"
His footsteps sped up.
"I command you to stop!"
At this, Y/n ran as fast as she could. Her feet kicked up dirt as she dashed toward the denser part of the woods. The trees were so close. Just a little further...
A harsh shove caused her to tumble forward. The Roman man towered above her, but she would not let herself freeze. Y/n scrambled up, ready to somehow fight off this stronger, more skilled man. He was a soldier, for goodness sake! She was just some kid from Capernaum.
"Why do you keep running, woman?" The Roman sneered. "I don't like being ignored."
Y/n backed away, but he followed. He reached out, grabbing her wrist. "There's no use in making me angrier."
So Y/n shoved him back with a strength she didn't know she had. The Roman flailed his arms, stumbling backward with a shocked look. It was so out of character, that had Y/n not been in a life threatening situation, she would have found it amusing. Before she could make her escape, his shock turned to anger.
"Well now you've done it." He sneered, gripping her arms so that his fingernails dug into her skin. Y/n gave him the nastiest glare she could muster, stomping on the man's foot.
He let go of her , quickly reaching for his injury. Y/n took this chance to sprint, this time in the direction of camp.
As a child, she and her friends would often race, whether it be to win a bet against John, or just to spice up a walk. Unfortunately, she had never been the best runner and usually ended up next to Simon in these competitions. So Y/n couldn't bring herself to be surprised when the soldier eventually caught up to her once more. The act of defiance had only made him more infuriated.
He grabbed her arm, shoving her up against a tree. Y/n's head hit the trunk and stars danced in her vision. The Roman brought his face so close to hers, she could smell his vile breath. "You are dead, woman."
With a swift movement, his hand was around her neck, squeezing the air from her lungs. Y/n panicked, unable to breathe or even think. Her chest was burning from the lack of oxygen. She clawed at his arm, but he didn't let go. Her head was screaming with voices that weren't her own. Under different circumstances, she would have been confused, but now was not the time to question. The absence of air was making her crazy with fear.
Just before she thought she'd black out, the soldier was ripped off of her. She dropped to the floor, gasping like a fish out of water. She drank in the fresh air desperately, putting a hand to her chest in an attempt to slow her racing heart.
Looking up, she saw a few of the disciples and relief flooded her body. Her friends were here and she would be safe. Those voices in her head were not from insanity after all.
The ringing in her ears eased enough to hear James and John pouring out their passionate, "Sons of Thunder" rage toward the Roman. For a moment the man didn't know what to do.
But he was still a soldier. A ruthless killer.
So with a skilled swipe of his hand, he unsheathed his dagger, pressing it to John's chest. Y/n felt her heart drop.
"Step back!" He ordered the rest of the men. With a nervous glance, they stood down, moving away. The rage in Big James's eyes nearly made the Roman falter.
"If you touched her, I will burn you to the ground." John hissed at the man, ignoring the knife completely. He was not afraid.
But the Roman wasn't either. He sneered, barking out a harsh laugh. "You're hardly in any position to be threatening me."
He lifted his head toward the other disciples, gesturing at the dagger, still pressed against their friend's chest. "None of you are."
When none of them replied, the soldier smiled. "Good." He looked back to John. "Now you're coming with me."
Y/n stumbled to her feet in horror. She knew exactly what the man would do. He was going to imprison her friend for attacking a soldier, but not for long. Those who crossed Roman officials never survived for more than a month. Their supposed "life sentences" were always cut short.
So without thinking, she launched herself at the man, tackling him from the side. Not for a bet, not to win a contest. This was for John, no strings attached.
Y/n hit the ground hard, bringing the soldier down with her. His helmet rolled off completely as the two wrestled to pin the other. What Y/n didn't realize was the Roman had not let go of his weapon.
Before any of her friends could step in, the soldier pierced the knife through her side, just below the ribs. Y/n pushed herself off of him in shock, her hands flying to her stomach.
It took only seconds for blood to seep through her fingers.
For a moment, John could only stare. He didn't even breathe. Everything that was happening... it wasn't possible. But when his eyes locked with Y/n's, he felt reality sink in.
A pained whine caused him to tear his eyes away from the girl he loved. He spotted the Roman on the ground, the one responsible for this.
In that minute, all he could see was red.
If anyone ever asked him to recall that moment, he wouldn't have been able to. It was almost as if he'd blacked out. All he knew is that one moment, he was staring at the man on the ground, and the next, the disciples were dragging him off of the Roman. He didn't know how long the gap in his memory was, but it had been long enough to beat the soldier to a pulp.
With rage filling his veins, he tried to go back, but his brother stopped him with a hand to his chest. "Don't."
John's eye twitched as he watched the soldier writhe in pain. James spoke again, catching his full attention. "Y/n is hurt, brother. Think of her."
Just like that, the soldier left his mind as quickly as the anger. He turned to see Andrew leaning Y/n against the trunk of a tree. Her jaw was clenched in pain as he sat her down.
In an instant, he was kneeling in front of her, cradling her face in his hands. His eyes searched her for any other injuries he didn't know of. Of course, the stab wound was most prominent. The more he looked at it, the quicker his heart raced.
“No no no, Y/n you‘ll be okay.” She had never heard John’s voice sound so soft before. His words were gentle, but the panic shone clearly in his eyes. He was holding himself together, but it wouldn’t last long. “Just stay with me, please.”
"Hah, I saved your life." She let out a light laugh, half delirious. "Guess you really owe me one."
Under normal circumstances, John would have laughed too. He even would have joined in on their little habit of favors and bets. But now was not normal, not when his world was crashing down around him. He glanced behind him at the group of a shocked disciples, gesturing at one in particular. “Matthew, I need one of your handkerchiefs.”
Keeping his eyes away from the injury, Matthew fumbled for the cloth, quickly handing it to John and backing away just as fast.
Y/n hissed as the handkerchief was pressed over the wound. She knew the pressure would slow the bleeding, but it only made it hurt more.
“I know it hurts. You just have to trust me, okay?”
She did trust him, that much was true. She trusted him with her life, but the searing pain made her push his hand away. “Okay, you can stop n-.”
Another agonizing pang shot through her as he ignored her words. “Stop.”
“But Y/n we need to-.”
“No.”
“You’re bleeding out!”
“There’s nothing you can do!” Her shout caused a silence to fall over the group. They knew she was right. None of them were even close to being doctors. Y/n shook her head, bringing her voice back to normal. “We can wait until Jesus comes back. He can heal this.”
Her eyes met with John’s and her voice dropped to barely a whisper. “Until then, can you hold me?”
Without hesitation, he gently pulled her to his chest. She gasped as the wound sent a jarring shock to her body, but it was worth it. Hearing his heartbeat soothed her.
John, on the other hand, was not comforted at all. His heart ached as he cradled his best friend in his arms. It should have been him. He should have gone with the Roman. Any prison sentence was more bearable than this.
Glancing back at the others, he grew angry realizing they were doing nothing. Now was not the time to stand around in shock. Y/n was right, they needed a miracle right now. "You heard her! Go get Jesus!"
Big James nodded, masking his worry for both his friend and his brother as he led the group back to camp.
The two were left alone in the clearing. All that was left to do was wait. John knew he couldn't do anything and it drove him insane. He gently brushed the stray hairs off of Y/n's face.
“I’m sorry, Y/n.” John choked back a sob through clenched teeth. “I’m sorry I wasn’t there to protect you.”
A ghost of a smile crossed her lips as her hand cupped his cheek. John leaned into the touch, placing his own hand on top of hers.
“Please… don’t apologize.” Y/n’s voice was airy and light. “It’s not your fault. Promise me you’ll never think that.”
He didn’t understand this. It was his fault. He hadn’t been there for her. He should have been there. And now it was too late to take it back. He knew this was the truth, but how could he say no to Y/n? John owed this to her, to keep at least one promise. He throat tightened as tears sprang to his eyes. He moved his head to the side, placing a soft kiss on her palm.
“I promise.” He whispered, his voice still muffled as he pressed his lips to her hand once more.
“Good.” A real smile crinkled at the edges of her eyes. The sight sent knives into John’s chest. He knew she was in agony, yet she smiled for him. Her selflessness baffled him.
With a shaky breath, allowing herself lower her hand. “I’m so tired. I need to-.”
“No.” The rough edge to his voice surprised her. He almost sounded angry, a complete change from moments earlier. She knew that anger was not directed toward her. For the first time since she’d known him, John was scared. Purely, inexplicably terrified. “You need to wait until Jesus gets here.”
“I don’t know if…” Against her will, here eyes fluttered shut. She wanted to keep them open, but it was so difficult. Her eyelids had grown heavy and she couldn’t bear it any longer.
“Don’t close your eyes, love.” Yet another change of tone. His breath came out shaky from the effort of holding back his tears. “Keep them open for me, yeah?”
She hummed in response, but couldn't bring herself to open her eyes. John shook her gently, which should have hurt but she felt nothing.
"I can't lose you, can't you see that?!" He buried his face into her shoulder, shutting his eyes tightly. "I'm not strong enough for that."
The sudden absence of pain allowed Y/n to move. She carefully wrapped her arms around him, gently patting down his messy curls. "John, you're a son of thunder! You can handle anyth-."
"Not this." His shoulders shook with silent cries.
A few moments of silence passed, aside from John's muffled sobs. All Y/n could do was run a comforting hand through his hair. After a second, she spoke up.
"John?"
"Yes, love?"
She breathed deeply, but she still felt nothing. "The pain is gone."
"The pain...?" He lifted his head, worry etched on his face. He glanced at the wound which hadn't stopped bleeding. In fact, the handkerchief had long been soaked through. "But that doesn't make any sense."
"And I feel..." She tried to think of the words to describe it. "I feel like I'm floating almost. Everything is hazy."
John's heart sunk to his stomach. She was getting worse by the second. He prayed that Jesus would come soon.
With tears staining his face, he pressed his forehead against hers. Neither of them said a thing. Y/n was slowly loosening her hold as she grew weaker by the second. John was determined to take in her presence as much as possible. He so desperately didn't want this to be his last moments with her, but that wish was foolish. Jesus was still nowhere in sight.
"Y/n, I have something I need to say."
He could feel her light breath on his face as she answered with a soft hum. The response was the only indication she was alive. Her body was completely limp in his embrace. He knew time was running out. It was now or never.
Before, he would have been nervous at the mere thought of confessing. Now, it could be his last chance. The thought terrified him to the core. She had saved his life, so she deserved to know.
“I love you, Y/n."
All bets were off. It was the honest truth.
"I love you without any string attached.”
He sat up straight again, opening his eyes to see her face. Despite the tears blurring his vision, he could see the small upward tug of her lips. No words were said, but he didn't need any. He knew the smile meant she loved him too, no strings attached.
Right then, John heard his name being called from a distance. He looked back to find his brother running toward him at full speed. For a moment, John felt his hopes were lifted. But Big James came near, kneeling before he gave him the bad news. "We searched everywhere. We can't find Jesus.”
“What do you mean you can’t find him?” John felt a pang of dread hit him again.
“I mean exactly what I sa-.”
“Well you can’t mean that.” John cut off his older brother with a hiss. “We need Jesus now!”
James shook his head, trying to keep himself together. He wanted to scream and shout, but his little brother was in distress and needed him. He was the oldest and had to keep his emotions in check. For John, he had to.
“Let’s get her back to camp, brother.” Big James stood up, clenching his jaw to keep his voice steady. He had to look away, knowing that the sight of his dying best friend would break him for good. “Maybe He will be back by then.”
John nodded, slowly at first, but faster as his hopes were raised once more. It would be more likely that Jesus would be near the camp. He shifted Y/n carefully in his arms so she wouldn’t fall as he stood.
James put a hand in his brothers shoulder, giving him the most hopeful look he could muster. “She will make it.”
The two brothers prayed the words would be true.
Back at camp, the disciples were in disarray. No one could find Jesus anywhere. Mary had been gone for quite some time as well. After telling the disciples about the Roman, she had disappeared completely.
John rushed Y/n into the women’s tent, setting her down gently. Mother Mary gave him a reassuring look, promising to do everything she could. Despite her kind words, John still had to be dragged out by his brother.
So there the disciples sat in deafening silence. Simon had suggested doing something useful to pass the time, but no one had the strength in them to move. The weight of stress was crushing, an exhausting burden to carry.
John eyed the tent, unable to tear his gaze away. Every bone in his body told him to rush in and make sure Y/n was okay. But he knew there was nothing he could do.
In that exact moment, Mary came out of the tent. The group stood up, their hearts racing. Her face was sullen as she looked at each of the boys. She locked eyes with John for a moment, then glanced away. Slowly, she gave the disciples a small shake of her head, and casted her gaze back toward the ground.
For a moment, no one dared to move. No one even breathed. No words had been said, but they understood Mary as if she’d spoken clear and loud. A simple gesture set their world on edge. No one wanted to accept the horror of it all, the meaning of her gesture, the truth behind the tent’s curtain. Y/n was gone.
Then John broke the silence, letting out a humorless laugh. “You’re lying.”
They waited impatiently for the punch line of this horrible joke. Surely, it was all a prank. Any minute now Y/n would walk out, her smile glowing in the evening sun.
Any minute….
But that minute never came.
“You’re lying!” The younger disciple’s blood had run cold. For many, the weight of reality hit them like a rock, but for John the horrors slowly dawned on him one by one. It was not a single moment of realization, but many moments. He was frozen as the truth tortured him from inside until it was no longer fiction.
Mary could not look him in the eye again. “I’m sorry.”
With that, he rushed forward. Toward the tent, toward his beloved. He needed to see her.
But the strong arms of Simon and his brother held him back. He strained against their hold, heels digging into the dirt as he tried to push himself away from them. “I have to see her. Let me go!”
They did not let go.
“Please I need to see her! I have to-.”
The words died in his throat as he fell to his knees. His body shook with sobs and his fingers dug into the ground. His heart burned like he had been stabbed himself. She was gone.
Then there was Big James, kneeling directly in front of him. Without a second thought, he pulled his younger brother into his arms. The sound of John’s cries were muffled in his shoulder.
There sat the Sons of Thunder, holding onto each other so tightly in their grief. The silent tears of the older brother were vastly different than the weeping of the younger, but they felt the same pain.
“I should have been there.” John gasped through his tears. “I should have been with her but I- I wasn’t… and now…”
He couldn’t bring himself to say it.
His grip tightened in his brothers shirt as he let out a strangled cry. “I was going to ask for her hand.”
Big James shut his eyes, more tears falling in the process. “I know, brother. I know.”
“I loved her so much, James. I still do.” He finally lifted his head from his brother’s shoulder. Grief was etched into his face. “No strings attached.”
At that moment, Simon walked up behind him, placing a hand on John's shoulder. Andrew came up with tearstained cheeks, doing the same. Slowly, each disciple followed, comforting each other as they mourned their friend.
...
As evening turned to dusk, a familiar face came into the camp from the woods. Jesus of Nazareth had returned from a long day of praying and preparing. When He saw the disciples in their circle, He took a breath, preparing Himself for what was about to happen.
John heard His footsteps before He had come near. With a broken voice, he spoke to his teacher. "Where were you?"
"I was preparing."
"Preparing?" John stood up, his voice growing louder. "We needed you here!"
"John-."
"You were the One who could heal her!" The disciple continued, taking a step forward. It was foolish to be angry at the Messiah, but he couldn't help it. Jesus could have fixed this but He hadn't. "How could you let this happen!?"
James put a hand on his chest to stop him, but his younger brother continued. "The Messiah is supposed to bring good to Israel! Well, this isn't good! If you were here, you could have healed her. But no, you were away and she had no one to help. Now she's..."
The burning in his throat cut him off. For the first time that day, he really looked at his teacher's face. Just like him, there were tears in His eyes. Just like the rest of them, Jesus wept for the loss of a friend.
John bit his lip to stop it from trembling. What was he doing? This was the Christ, the Savior of the world! How could he be angry? How could he chastise the Son of God?
Jesus shook His head, placing His hands on His disciple's shoulders. "John, didn't I tell you there would still be heartbreak? That there would still be suffering?"
He lowered his face to the ground in shame. "You did, Rabbi."
"If I told you that there would still be trials, then why do you doubt My goodness? Why do you doubt that I cannot use evil for good?"
"I'm sorry, Rabbi." For the hundredth time that day, John cried. "I'm sorry for my lack of faith."
Without hesitation, Jesus pulled him into an embrace. John was in awe at His compassion for a sinner like him. He had just rebuked the Messiah, yet he was in His arms.
"I forgive you, but in your suffering, remember the goodness of God. For I turn sorrow into joy."
John sniffed, nodding his head. Jesus stepped back, holding John's face in His hands.
"Now that won't always mean raising a loved one from the dead..." A smile tugged at Jesus's lips. "...but perhaps this time it will."
Without another word, He promptly made His was toward the tent. John was frozen, unsure if he had heard his Rabbi correctly. Jesus turned back before entering, addressing Ramah and His mother. "May I?"
Mary nodded, a knowing smile on her face as Ramah watched, her mouth open in shock. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. Neither could any of the disciples.
When Jesus disappeared into the tent, all was silent. No one knew what to expect. The Messiah's words had been plain as day, but they were miraculous. They waited, for what seemed like a lifetime, for their teacher to return.
When He finally did, Y/n was at his side, smiling as brightly as usual. She was standing in front of them, completely alive. No one dared to moved.
There she was, the love of John's life, the girl who had nearly died in his arms. She was right there. He blinked slowly, like he was in a dream.
It wasn't until Jesus gestured for him to come over that the miracle finally hit him. Y/n was alive. She was dead and now she lived. Jesus, the Lamb of God, had done this.
John ran forward, pulling Y/n into his arms and spinning her. The impact of the embrace left to two breathless, but their smiles were as bright as day. He touched his forehead to hers, holding her face in his hands as he soaked up the fact that the was still here.
After a moment, he let go, looking back at Jesus. He stood behind them, watching the scene with misty eyes. John immediately ran and hugged Him tightly. "Thank you, Rabbi."
"You don't doubt that I turn sorrow into joy now, do you?" Jesus laughed, patting His disciple on the back. He then nudged John back toward Y/n.
"Forgive Me if I'm wrong," said the Messiah who was never wrong, "but I believe you two have something to talk about."
John raised a brow in confusion, but Y/n grinned sheepishly. "He's right. I think there's something I owe you."
"You? Owe me?" John blinked incredulously. "You sacrificed you life to save me. What could you possibly owe me?"
"The truth." Y/n answered so quickly, she nearly interrupted him. "I heard what you said before. I couldn't speak then, so now I owe you the truth. I love you too."
She loved him too.
He didn't know what to say in response. It was everything he'd ever dreamed of. So instead, he took a step closer. "May I kiss you?"
A smile tugged at the corner of her lips as if she had been waiting for the question. "You may."
And so without a second thought, he pressed his lips to hers. He poured out the love he had felt for her for years, the pain and and anguish of losing her, and the overwhelming relief of getting her back into that kiss.
When the two parted, John's heart was exploding with joy. His arms were still wrapped tightly around her, like he was afraid to let go. He closed his eyes again, his face so close to hers that their noses touched.
“I will love you forever.”
“No strings attached?” The grin was evident in Y/n's voice. John's smile brightened to match hers before kissing her again.
“No strings attached.”

Writing/Art Update 01.23.2024
Me, Oct 24, 2023:
This is the sort of thinking that leads to 100k fanfic. I will try to come up with things to fill the space and then I will have too much stuff. That's just how it is, I guess. Wouldn't it be nice if this could just be, like, 60k, and I could be almost done?
Me, Nov 28, 2023:
I think that once I figure this out it will either be a clear path from now to the end and probably be like 8 or 9 chapters + an epilogue OR it will spiral wildly out of control, some other fucking subplot will sneak in, and it will go 12+ chapters and I will cry a lot.
Me, Jan 9, 2024:
Either that, or I'll just keep writing chapters, like Zeno's fanfic. I sincerely hope that doesn't happen. I will die.
Me, today:
Fuck.
So the good news is that I have finally finished the scene that I have been wrestling with since early December. It's two scenes now, because I wanted to swap narrators halfway thru, but it's really the same scene.
The less good news is that this came out 🎵8721 words🎵 and I still have three more scenes budgeted for this chapter in the outline. I mean, on one hand, at least I produced a significant amount of something for as long as that took. On the other hand, I feel like this dumb thing is now growing faster than I can write it. I've only made it up to roughly 11am on Saturday (the fanfic ends early Monday morning). Maybe it's not as bad as I think. I still haven't decided if Chapter 7 is just going to be super long, or if I am going to bump the other three scenes to the next chapter. I am putting that decision off until I actually write them and probably also most of Chapter 8. Mostly, I am just hoping I don't to add another chapter to the outline (I strongly suspect I am going to have to add another chapter--#11-- to the outline).
None of this will matter when it's done! I don't actually care how long the thing comes out (that's your problem, reader, I simply love big numbers). It's just that I want to be done, and the longer this gets, the further away that feels.
I haven't done a top level word count in a while because I've been working in messy temp documents, but I finally pasted my new scenes back into the main doc. Part B currently stands at 27,724, for a running total of 64,597, which makes it my fifth longest fanfic at roughly 2/3 done. There's kind of a ways to go before it overtakes Between Tides, but I think it might just happen.
Gosh, y'know, it's honestly kind of surprising I got as much writing done this week as I did, considering my kids were home nearly the whole week between snow days and a planned asynchronous day. Am I back on my groove? I sure fucking hope so.
I kept up with my drawing reasonably well, too--it was baked goods week. I did one tutorial, two one-day scribbles, and I drew last week's cake in the style of a GBBO illustration, which took me 3 days, but I'm really happy with the way it came out (so, 6 out of 7 days, I guess). I have another fanart (or possibly two) that I'd like to do in time for Byakuya's birthday, so that's probably what I will focus on this week.

Touch Starved
@febuwhump
Fandom: Avatar: The Last Airbender, Pairing: Zukka Modern AU in which Zuko is the captain of the fencing team
You can also find this on AO3 by clicking here.
The one thing that bothered Sokka about Zuko, the fencing team captain, was just how…touchy he was. It seemed like he couldn’t keep his hands to himself for two seconds. During practice, he was always going around and correcting people’s forms and stances by just…pushing their limbs into place, or gently taking their wrists or hands to show how the technique should look and feel. After practice, he would clap people on the shoulders and tell them good job, or go for side-jabs or ass-slaps. He once tickled Aang into total submission right in the locker room, both of them bare as the day they were born. Sokka, of course, was not exempted from this treatment, and he didn’t really so much like it. He craved it. It took him weeks to admit that he envied Zuko and his easy familiarity with the other members of the fencing team. He wanted to be able to just…let loose and not care what people might think of him. But that’s not how he grew up. He’d always had to be the man of the house, and that meant he had to put on a tough face and take a firm hand. Yeah, he was funny—hilarious, even—but he drew a line with others and rarely let them cross it. But Zuko just sort of skipped right over it on day one, and ever since then Sokka wrestled with an unpleasant, coiling sensation in his gut whenever Zuko was nearby. That sensation which told him that the happy chemicals his brain made whenever Zuko touched him were shameful and wrong, and that he should not want to put his hands on Zuko’s tense shoulders, or wrap them around his narrow waist, or ruffle his hair. Men didn’t do those things, they put each other in headlocks and bumped fists or chests. They didn’t hug each other or drape themselves across another man’s lap. They didn’t cuddle. Which was all to say, Sokka didn’t do those things. But becoming friends with Aang and being on the same team as Zuko made him long to change. To reach out. Holding back was agony, some days. “Hey! Good job today,” Zuko said, putting his hand gently on Sokka’s shoulder as they walked back to the dorms from the gymnasium. Zuko’s smile was bright and genuine. Sokka’s fingers twitched. “Thanks,” he said, instinctively brushing off Zuko’s hand, then hating himself for it, then hating himself for hating himself. “I think I'm finally getting the hang of the saber.” “When you remember to loosen up your wrists,” Zuko said with a cocky eyebrow quirk, clearly enjoying having spent the last forty minutes disarming and humiliating Sokka in front of the rest of the club (he hadn’t been the only one). Moments like these reminded Sokka that Zuko was a man just like him, that maybe he could reach out like he was used to. But then Zuko snaked his arm over Sokka’s shoulders, leaning into him just a bit too close. Crossing right over that boundary. Sokka’s fingers twitched harder. “Don’t stress about it. I started on saber, and it took me ages to get the turn right. I think you’re better than I was when I was a beginner.” “You really mean it?” Sokka asked, skeptical. Zuko nodded. “I do,” he said. “I wouldn’t just gas you up, Sokka. I think you have a lot of skill and potential, you just lack training. How about attending Piandao’s workshop over Fall Break? The club will sponsor it.” He was too close. His breath was in Sokka’s ear, and his body was pressed up to Sokka’s arm. They would be tripping over each other if they weren’t accustomed to automatically correcting their balance. Sokka sighed ruefully and gave in to his twitching fingers. He wanted Zuko’s touch, and he wanted to touch Zuko in return. He reached up and clapped Zuko on the shoulder, giving it a firm squeeze. Zuko blinked in surprise as Sokka moved his hand down to his waist, pulling them closer together. “I’ll think about it,” Sokka said, and then jerked his head towards the student union building. “Now come on, let’s grab something to eat. I’m starving.”

Rookie Moves (MJF x Reader)
This was requested by @okadaizoirl, sorry this took so long to post haha, but it's finally here! I hope you enjoy it!
Warnings: degradation, humiliation, shower sex
Word Count:
10. "looks like we'll be trapped for a while"
20. "touch them again and I'll kill you"
23. "did you hear all of that?"
As a rookie in the wrestling industry, I have been mostly just a jobber my whole career, but after finding myself signing up to join AEW, life has been getting better and better. Everyone has been so kind to me, well, most of them. There is Max, who is pretentious as he is gorgeous. He is the rudest person I have ever met. Though somehow, I can't help but think about him. I push thoughts away all the time with ease, but he just seems to stay on my mind more than I'd like.
Though when Tony Khan called me into his office and told me I would be having a match with him tonight my heart sunk into my chest. I did not want to wrestle that dickhead, but at the same time if I pin him it would absolutely destroy him.
The time came for the match, which was set in the middle of Dynamite. The first two matches were completed and my walk-out music was about to start playing. I have only had a couple matches on Dark, but I am happy to have any matches. I walk out and do my entrance before stepping into the ring. Doing some last-minute stretches I could hear his godawful walk-out song playing and he walks out as self-entitled as ever.
The match lasts for about ten minutes. There is tension, and we both can tell. I manage to roll him up and pin him. I smile big as the referee raises my hand. Max looks as shocked as I feel and I roll out of the ring and make my way up the ramp. I flip him off before going to the backstage area and going to get some water from my dressing room. I tidy up a bit and take a little break before getting ready for a shower.
But of course, I don't have a towel.
I walk out of my room and go down to my friend Anna Jay's dressing room and knock on the door. She comes out and greets me with a hug.
"Hey! I see you won the match, how are you? And how is Max taking it?" She asked.
"I'm good, I have no idea how Max is, he seemed pretty pissed off when he realized I had won. But I mean oh well, what he gets to be honest but anyways, can I borrow a towel? I don't have any in my dressing room." I asked.
"Of course, I got you covered." She said walking back in and grabbing a towel. She comes back out and hands it to me.
"Thank you, you are a whole lifesaver," I said.
I head back to my dressing room before getting stopped by one of the staff members.
"Hey, great match."
"Thank you," I say, giving them a friendly smile.
"How about I take you out for a drink or two?" They said, leaning up against the wall.
"Thank you for the offer, but I'll have to pass," I say politely declining the offer.
"Oh come on, just one drink. It'll be fun." They persist.
"I said no," I say.
"Listen, all you have to do is have one drink with me, it's not that fucking hard." They said trying to grab at my wrist.
"Touch them again and I'll kill you," said someone with a familiar voice.
I look behind me and see Max. He seems even more pissed than before, and I can't tell if it's because of this or the match. I suspect both.
"Look dude, I don't want any trouble."
"Clearly you do, they said no. Respect that."
"Don't you hate them?"
"Did I ever say that? No. The only one who can touch them is me."
I widen my eyes.
"Excuse me? No one can touch me." I say replying to him.
Max gets the guy to leave. And it's just the two of us.
"You could say thank you," he says.
"I didn't need your help," I say rolling my eyes.
He smiles and nods. He's about to leave and my mouth moves before my mind could tell it to.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome."
"Why did you do it? I thought you hated me." I said, not looking at him.
"Did I ever say that?"
"No, but you always act like it. I mean the last few weeks, the frustration between us. Explain that then."
"I don't hate you. In fact, I'm pretty fond of you. But we are at different points in our life, I need to get over this feeling, but I can't."
I make my way into the shower after a conversation with Max. To think he is feeling exactly what I am feeling. I get in and turn the water on warm. I bask in the warmth of the water hitting all the right places. I hear a knock on my bathroom door.
"Who is it?" I yell, getting my hair wet.
"Me."
"Max?" I asked surprised.
"Yeah."
"Sorry, I'm kinda preoccupied," I say, starting to lather the shampoo in my hair.
"Come on, I gotta use the bathroom." He said.
I roll my eyes. It is always something with this man.
"Fine, the door is unlocked."
I hear the door open and close behind me. I get finished washing my hair a few minutes later. His presence lingers, so I know he isn't gone.
"Can you hand me my loofah? It's sitting on the sink." I ask.
I look and see his hand extend in the shower with my loofah in his hand.
"Thank you," I say grabbing it, and seeing his hand leave.
I hear the toilet flush and all I can think is 'shit.'
"MAX!" I say turning off the water.
"My bad," he said.
I grab my towel and wrap it around me, stepping out. I was almost done, but clearly, I'm gonna have to get back in when the water cools. I reach for the handle to grab some of my other skincare. I go to open the door. It won't open.
'Oh, come on," I think, giggling at the door handle to try and make it open.
"looks like we'll be trapped for a while," he said, unamused.
"Great," I said rolling my eyes.
I could feel him staring at me. I look over as he pulls me into his kiss. His kiss was soft and passionate. I gave in and kissed back.
What felt like ages, were only seconds. Soon enough his clothes were on the floor and my towel was thrown off my body. He grabs me by the hips and pulls me close. Leaving kisses on my jawline and down to my neck. One hand rested on my thigh, and the other on my waist.
"You want my dick, you dirty slut." He said, slapping my upper thigh.
There was pure bliss flowing off the steam and the rough kisses he was planting on my body.
He pulls me up on the top counter and slid into me slowly. I throw my head back, running my fingers through his hair. His hand runs up to my cheek and pulls me to face him. His eyes told everything. He wanted it just as much as I did.
He went faster and faster as his lips crashed into mine. I felt my climax come slowly, and then all at once.
"Fuck Max!" I yelled, letting my body go limp against his skin.
"For my enemy, you sure take me well."
"For my enemy, you sure do it good."
Sorry if this isn't very well! And also again would just like to apologize for the lack of posting, and how long it took to put this out!

MILESTONE 15.0
V! 🤗 Tyvm for participating in my event (and giving me another opportunity to write for Nemi 😉)! 🤍 Hope your 🌹 day went alright. 🥰
Song Inspo: Bonfire Heart by James Blunt
CW: explicit language, implied alcohol, mild sexual content
After a day, what will you think?
The softness in your eyes makes Sanemi balk inwardly—Maybe I should've buttoned more of my shirt?—creeping tendrils of intrigue and pity spilling from your stare; wrapping around his wrists, along his arms, caressing the scars across his chest and torso; your mouth opening then closing then opening again.
"What?" he snaps, stalking toward you, "You are [y/n], right?"
Fucking blind dates as he struggles with the buttons of his shirt; Fuck Tengen and his wives the closer he gets, buttons still uncooperative; Fuck Obanai and his worrying watching warmth fill your cheeks; Fuck their colluding wondering how on earth they thought you'd be a match for him.
"You know, I was warned you'd be underdressed," you finally remark, faint humor and light awkwardness in your tone, "No need to make yourself uncomfortable.
They got a warning? he nearly snarls, promptly giving up on the buttons Why didn't I get a warning that they'd be severely overdressed?
"But you look nice," you offer a small smile, holding out your hand, "[y/n]," compliment tumbling from your mouth before you can stop it, "And you smell good."
I smell good?! his glare sharpens, rough hand practically smacking yours as he grips your fingers, "Shinazugawa Sanemi. I'm hungry."
Your skin feels... polite. Kind. For a fleeting moment, he imagines your fingertips cool and gentle against the tautness of his back.
"And, uh," swallowing thickly, avoiding your gaze, "You look nice too," sighing loudly, "Nicer than me."
After a week, how will you feel?
"No way, a second date?!" Obanai exclaims, enthusiastically punching Sanemi's shoulder.
"I'm offended," Sanemi scowls, fixated on his phone, scrolling diligently for the perfect gif.
"And I'm surprised," Obanai retorts, snatching Sanemi's phone with a sly grin, "What's occupying you, buddy?" grin widening when he realizes exactly who Sanemi's texting.
"Fuck off," Sanemi groans, not even bothering to wrestle for his phone.
"How long have you been searching for cute cat gif?" Obanai cackles gleefully.
"Fuck. Off."
"Dinner and drinks on me tonight!"
"The fuck?"
"Tengen thought you wouldn't survive five minutes. I thought you'd fall head over heels."
"Head over heels?"
"Dude, you are the world's driest texter, and suddenly you're interested in cute. Cat. Gifs?"
"Whatever," Sanemi mutters, resisting the urge to toss Obanai through the wall, "You're driving," and I'm getting wasted.
After a month, what will you want?
"Nemi," you murmur, carefully poking his bicep, "Did you hear me?"
Oh I fucking heard you.
"Are..." you inhale deeply, thumbs stroking smoothly over his calloused palms, "Are we dating?"
What else would we be?
"Like, is this casual? Are we official? Monogamous? What..." trailing off as his breath catches, "... what are we?"
Blunt as ever, he grits out, "What do you want?"
"I want to date you, officially, nobody else involved," your wry smile seeping through his stiffness, "But you seem, upset?"
Shit he blinks Maybe Tengen had a point exhaling lowly I'm hopeless.
"I'M NOT UPSET!"
"But you're yelling?" your eyebrows furrowed.
"BECAUSE I LIKE YOU!"
Oops Sanemi blushes, embarrassment promptly melting as your arms fling around his neck, forehead knocking into his Oof, your joy so radiant he has to consciously stop himself from shying away The hell is this?
"I like you!" you squeal, lips squishy and determined as you kiss him once, twice, until he's noticeably red, "You're so fucking dumb," biting playfully at the tip of his nose, "And I really like you."
After a year, why will you stay?
"Sanemi?"
"Hm?"
"Do you still like me?"
"Babe," deadpan, "I love you."
"Buuut you still like me too?"
"More than anything."

Extended Stay
Pairing: Liv Morgan x Reader Prompt: "Have I told you that your arms are looking especially good today?" "What do you want?
You loved your job working as an athletic trainer at the Performance Center. Wrestling hadn't been one of your big interests growing up, but you had worked at a training camp during college one semester and sort of fell in love with it. Truthfully, you had more specifically fallen for one wrestler in particular, but it had taken years for the two of you to finally get to a place where a relationship was possible. You had to finish college and wait for the official offer from the WWE came, and Liv was busy clawing her way to the top. Now, years later the two of you were finally happy, both in a career sense and in regards to your relationship.
"Good morning gorgeous," Liv greeted as she stepped into your office. Your days looked a lot different than hers, but you didn't mind too much. You were home by yourself a lot, but your hours at the PC allowed for you to get a lot of free time when Liv was home. It was rare that she had the entire week off while you were booked for overtime. You knew that your schedules were bound to conflict a little more like that since she was no longer doing appearances as champion.
"Hi Liv," you said as she sat down on the side of your desk. You could feel her staring at you as you tried working, but you tried to ignore it so you could finish what you needed to. If you were lucky, then you'd be out of the office by the time that Liv was ready to go back to her place. You had been wanting to spend more time with her at her home, where you also got to spend time with the animals. More importantly, you got to see Liv interacting with her pets, which always made you fall a little more in love with her.
"Have I told you that your arms are looking especially good today?" Liv complimented. You smiled bashfully as Liv placed her hand on your arm and traced along the inside of your forearm.
"What do you want?" You knew Liv well, you knew that she flirted like this whenever she wanted something. Usually it wasn't anything big, so you doubted that you would mind whatever she wanted from you.
"I've got the whole week off, so I was thinking that you could stay at the farm with me. I know the drive kind of sucks, but I can totally take you these next two days. It's kind of a lot to ask, but I want to get used to having you in my home more often," Liv said. You couldn't have said no to her even if you wanted to. Liv wanted to integrate you into her day to day life, which felt huge to you. You had gotten used to sharing your apartment with her whenever she stopped by for a couple days at a time, and now you had the chance to get used to being at her place for prolonged periods of time. It was scary, but also exciting. You couldn't have cared less about the drive.
"I'd love to. I get out of here at 4, can probably pack quickly, and be at your place around 6 or so. Does that sound good?" you asked. Liv grinned as she leaned forward to kiss you. "I'll see you tonight?" "Well, I am going to get some training in while I'm here. If you wanted to supervise me, I wouldn't say no," Liv offered. As tempting as that sounded, you really did have a lot of paperwork to catch up on, so you had to pass. However, you knew that Liv would find some excuse to hang out in your office whenever she was done training. She rarely spent less than an hour in your office with you whenever she came to the PC for visits.
