Working on a creative project while studying a completely unrelated uni course is actually way more soul destroying than I thought it would be

I'm sitting here, mid Finance lecture, not a single word registering in my brain and the FUCKING VOICES JUST WONT SHUT UP LIKE WHAT DO YOU MEAN MY OC SHOULD BE PINING FOR A DEAD LOVER PLEASE PAY ATTENTION

"But if college was free, then people would abuse that and get useless degrees" hell yeah I would! If I could go to college without debt I would make it my job to get a degree in every little thing that interested me. I'd get a doctorate in film studies. I'd have a bachelor's degree for every science I like. I'd try to learn at least 5 languages with varying results. I would learn something "useful" like coding and then follow it up with a ""useless"" degree like art history. I'd be the world record speed run holder for getting every degree possible.

But I can't afford college without going into massive debt, so instead I spent the last 5 years trying to figure out what I am passionate enough about to consider going into debt over, because unfortunately being passionate about everything is extremely expensive to pursue.

i got laid off 5 weeks ago, i applied for unemployment the same day i got laid off but for some reason they are taking forever to process my case. i just keep waiting for weeks and then getting sent more paperwork to fill out. yesterday they told me i'll have to wait another 2 weeks to hear back again. ive been applying for every job i can find and getting nothing so far

i have $1533 in outstanding rent, i just barely avoided being taken to court, i have a payment plan with my landlord but thats entirely dependent on what happens with my unemployment

i also have to make an 80 dollar payment on my student loans by monday or it'll be sent to collections. that sucks but not being homeless is my priority

(also my grandfather is dying and im dealing with my homophobic family if for some reason you want to know the specifics about that i have complained here)

i am really greatful to have had comms to keep me afloat, this has been a huge help with everyday expenses + keeping me and my dog fed. but yeah i cant do this shit anymore. if you can help or boost that is lifesaving!!! thank you so much

hey i'm trying to help fund laser+electrolysis treatments for my fiancée and my sister. they're a couple of trans women who also happen to be very important to me. and i could use some help!

i can front a lot of the cost with my own money for a while but these are gonna be long-term weekly/biweekly treatments and realistically i know it's gonna be tough to cover the total cost on our own.

it depends on how their treatments go but i'm expecting it to total anywhere between $2000-$3000. but i'm not looking for anyone to give me that much, even just a couple hundred bucks would help immensely.

sorry, boring answer but i think its completely dependent on context, almost all good-faith art advice, even 'just practice' can be valuable in the right situation. I dont like people talking in absolutes or stuff delivered in a way that seems condescending. There are no technical tips that come to mind when discussing favourite/least favourite advice, its all about delivery

I’m sorry but the best Jon Snow AUs are those where he is some sort of civil servant. I always see people headcannon him as ROTC/soldier or cop but I think they kind of miss the mark. GRRM has steadily been moving away from the traditional warrior archetype with Jon and more into the counts-pebbles ruler type. So the cannon compliant AUs are the ones where he ends up as some sort of government official. Maybe he could be a city hall manager or an ombudsman. He could be a state representative or maybe even a senator. Let me remind people that he’s the only elected leader in the series. AU!Jon Snow would totally be the extremely competent but also extremely depressed congressional representative from like, idk, Alaska.
