dombaccariâ:
One side of Domâs mouth threatened to curl into a cruel smirk of amusement. He preferred his company sharp tongued and rough around the edges. âI donât have an office lady,â he said, voice almost mocking, even as he tried to figure out exactly who it was sheâd spoken to. All signs pointed to Seanâs little sisterâ firecracker that she wasâ and he made a mental note to get her back for it later. She liked to make it known she didnât appreciate being left out of club meetings and today that apparently included creating a clusterfuck heâd have to sort out.
Her question drew his attention back to her, deadened eyes sliding over her features with boredom. âYeah. I spent it working. Itâs almost like other people exist and drive cars that need fixing.â His bored eyes shifted to the truck she pointed out. Heâd looked the car over earlier, the scrape not so deep that he thought itâd need more than a wet sandingâ maybe a little paint touch-upâ but there was no way he could have it done by tonight. âGonna at least need until tomorrow. Maybe longer depending on how bad it is. Youâre welcome to take it around to another shop who might have a faster turnaround.â Good luck finding one still open, his almost-smirk seemed to say.
-
Scarlett analyzed the man as he spoke. Hoping somewhere in the deep deep pits of her stomach that was lying and she was hoping that he was and she wasnât played for a fool earlier, however, the more he spoke despite his retched tone she believed him, and small ounce of panic set in her fingertips, before it drove upwards. âOh yeah?â She said, brow rose, arms crossed over her chest, âfunny,â she paused, but she didnât give him a chance to speak, âbecause that truck looks like itâs in the exact same spot I left it in.â She maybe didnât drive it in, but she was going to be dramatic until her last breath so why stop now? âOh come on.â The brunette groaned, âitâs not that bad.â She had to fight every fiber of her being not to roll her eyes to the back of her skull, âwhy on godâs green earth is it going to take you until tomorrow?âÂ

Instantly, eyes darted over towards the mysterious girl in the terrible dress. It was so juvenile to gossip about anotherâs fashion sense⌠and yet, Eleanor took the bait with ease. The view was pretty, she had to keep in mind not to start taking the pretty nature for granted. Sometimes she felt like she was back in secondary school with Scarlett, but it never hurt anyone⌠Right? Gossip was harmless. âIt is pretty bad. Do you think she realizes or that sheâs trying to be alternative?â Said with air quotes.
-
âI donât know.â Scarlett said, arms crossed in front of her chest. One hand resting on her forearm, the other holding the stem of a wine glass. Not her favorite alcohol, but beggars couldnât be choosers when it came to numbing the brain. âMaybe she found her grandmamaâs curtains and decided to wear âemâ Who was she to judge what someone else wanted to wear? No one, really, but she did it anyways with ease.Â

âYouâre not actually insane⌠but you know what I mean.â Benji said as he rubbed his eye and prepared for his coffee and protein shake. The sound of the blender was enough to make him wince before he rolled his eyes at the comment about the worm. Heâd heard that one and he could be good at waking up early if he knew the night before. âIâll keep that in mind.â He tacked on, sighing contently when the coffee was ready and he brought it to his lips right away. âI have a tik tok to watch other pepleâs tik tokâs. Iâm not doing anything on it.â He didnât even have an actual photo or name on his profile. He wasnât following anyone but had liked a thousand or some videos. âI donât think thereâs ages but ⌠I donât know. Is it any weirder than youtube or facebook?â He didnât think so.
-
âWhat you actually mean is you think I am insane.â She said, rolling her hazel hues so far back into her skull she could hear her mama screaming from the bayou that they were gonna stick like that and she better fix âem. âSure you donât.â She narrowed her eyes at him, âthat sounds so fake.â She looked on a second more, âI bet you do tik tok dances.â She laughed at the thought. The man before her doing anything even remotely trendy was comical, but maybe he did. Sheâd seen weirder shit happen. âI bet you are trying to be a tik tok like, influencer or some bullshit.â She laughed yet again so go on show me your best move.âÂ

âPeople who wake up at this time are insane.â He said as he looked at her and rose his hands as if he was innocent and it wasnât his opinion but a universal one. âIâm not lazy. I went to bed like a normal human apart from my tik tok binge. But worse than being an early riser, youâre expecting a run out of me?â He laughed then, hand to his stomach with his head tipping back. âOh, donât pull the whole⌠youâll sleep when youâre dead. Thatâs more related to partying, not morning runs.â
-
âIâm not insane.â She said yet again. This time, with her annoyance, a bit of cajun leaked through the syllables as it did when she got mildly emotional. âEarly bird getâs the worm or whatever. You donât even know what youâre missing.â Clearly, because they werenât going to get going anytime soon. He was too busy well-- procrastinating. She could have been running by now. Scarlett would remember to check the, âdonât go ask benji to run int he morningâ box again. It was too much work to get him up and she didnât but this much work into anything. âWhy do you even have a tik tok?â She asked, hell she didnât have one, and yet here he was, binging it. âIsnât that a little strange for a grown ass man?â Maybe he wasnât grown though. A thought fluttered through her mind, maybe thatâs why he didnât wake up early. He just wasnât grown yet. âI actually-- wasnât going to say that so.âÂ

Domâs eyes narrowed in on her as she turned down his music, ears roaring with the missing sound as he flicked his gaze down the length of her, assessing the challenge she might present. âYeah? The sign also says Baccariâs Garage.â Thrusting out a hand between them as though he might shake hers, he introduced himself, âDominic Baccari,â and dropped it back to his side. This was the first he was hearing about a car with a rush order on it and he wasnât about to start making up for a promise he hadnât made. âThatâs not the way it works. Shocking as it may be, I canât control time.â Jerking a hand through his hair and buying himself a few seconds to rein in his mood, he sighed. âWhich oneâs yours?â
-
âNeat.â She said, not reaching for his hand as he reached out. She didnât want grease or oil or whatever else he hand on his hands on hers. She wasnât about the grimy life. But instead he dropped it as he said his name, clearly the owner or the son of him. âGood for you.â She said, not giving her name in response. Not on purpose, but her mind didnât go straight to introducing herself, she was part feral after all. Still, to this day, to her motherâs dismay. âWell maybe then you should tell your office lady to not promise things she canât deliver.â She said, rather annoyed. Maybe it wasnât a promise, but in her mind, the brunette was sure it was. âBut you can control how you spend your time, yeah?â Simple. At least it was to her. But regardless, she pointed to the Chevy Silverado in the furthest bay. The one she might have scrapped the side of, but in her mind it was a simple fix. Just slap some paint on it or whatever.  âThat truck.âÂ

WHERE: baccariâs garage.
WHO: open. [ @providencepeakstartersâ ]
Itâd been a slow day at the garageâ most of the guys spending the last few hours shooting pool and talking shit before Dom had sent them away to close up in peace. Bundy by Animal Alpha trilled from the speakers and echoed off the walls as he lay beneath the car he was currently working on. It was routine alone, the knowledge that someone else would handle it, that had him all but ignoring the sound of the bell over the door. It was only when the wrench in his hand clattered to the floor and he cursed that he remembered he was alone and shoved out from beneath the car. Rubbing his grease-stained hands on his black jeans, he rounded the corner to shoo them off, not even offering a glance up as he said, âWeâre closed.â They werenât, not for another half hour. âCome back tomorrow.â
-
She didnât remember this being a grunge music dungeon when she dropped the car off. Then again, sheâd only seen the reception, and she asked if she paid a little extra if the car could be done today, and the lady there was more than happy to oblige. Now, here she was, impatient, and if you asked the buggy part of her, the tip of her finger was raw from ringing a bell to the tune of no one coming. But seeing a man, she took a few steps forward, siding up to the radio and turning the knob, she lowered the volume to practically nothing before speaking, she wasnât gonna yell, âsign says thatâs not true.â She stated the obvious, âand I was kind of promised my car today.â It wasnât her car but he didnât need to know that. âI kinda need it.â Read, she kind of wanted to not get in trouble.Â

Location: Tour at The Grape Escape
Bighorn Hills was an area of town Eleanor didnât often find herself in. It wasnât as close to her apartment or Glace, so it rarely crossed her mind. As she was sketching up new designs one night, it struck her. She came to Providence Peak for the natural beauty, the stones, the colors. Why not go take a day trip for inspiration? The Grape Escape was the perfect solution: nestled in nature without the roughing it of camping (even glamping was a stretch for her. Being one with the sounds and animals of the outdoors? No thanks!). The beautiful orange hues of the stones, the reds and purples of the wines, the lush green of the vines⌠Perfection.
Arriving at the vineyard, she waited for a tour guide to come by and begin showing them around. Looking at another nearby, she gave a tight-lipped smile. One that didnât reach her eyes. A usual Eleanor greeting. âItâs beautiful, isnât it? May I ask you, what colors are catching your eyes most?âââ

Day drinking was a common spot for Scarlett. Not that she would consider herself a drunk, itâs just, she had a fast mind. It had to go at a million miles an hour at every conceivable second otherwise she felt like she was short circuiting. And maybe that was because she had no aspirations to focus on, or maybe she was just a drunk. But either way, with no direction any time soon, she drank a little, all the time to soothe her soul, and make herself a little more tolerable at work, because god forbid any of them have to meet her raw. âThe view?â She asked, looking over at the other after a deep breath, it was alright. Grapevines were grapevines after all. âThat girlâs horrendous dress.â She tipped the rim of her glass to the girl in question, âshe catches my eye the most.âÂ

Dana stood there it was kind of a loaded question and she knew that it was also kind of a pointless question. She looked over at the girl for a moment and laughed a little looking at her, âI mean finally someone on the same page as me but is there any other reason you are saying that? Are you okay?â She asked as she went to order her drink before she looked at her and laughed, âThe worse, very boring if I am honest and just terrible.âÂ
-
âAre you okay?â She repeated the otherâs question, almost offended. Why would someone ask that? She didnât sit down and ask if the other was okay, but why would she. She expresses an opinion and something was wrong with her? That wasnât a very fair assumption, at least not the the brunette. And as if on queue, she was mildly offended. âYou think Iâm not okay?â She finally said, curious to her answer.Â

Benji turned towards her and laughed when she started. âYouâre insane and youâre early. No one is up at this time.â He said as she busied himself with the coffee that he was adamant on having. âIâm going to be fine. Iâve got a stomach of iron and I need some energy to run because I clearly missed out on another two hours I could have gotten because of someone.â
-
âI am not insane. Jesus.â The brunette scoffed and she moved towards his kitchen, rooting about the cupboards looking for a glass. She found the plates, a few odds and ends, then finally she found cups. Grabbing one, she turned around, âeveryone is up at this time. Youâre just lazy.â She rolled her eyes, almost to the back of her skull, âno one needs that much sleep. Whoever told you that lied, and itâs time you finally admitted it.âÂ

location: holy spirits, university heights
character: open starter @providencepeakstartersâ
Dana was out for the evening, originally had come on a date with someone she met on tinder. The date didnât go very well, it was awkward, he didnât feel too comfortable around her and she didnât exactly like that, she liked someone who matched her energy and was comfortable around her, so they ended the date and she decided to stay drinking at the speak easy for a while because it was a way to socialise and make new friends and take a break from thinking about how yet another date failed. It wasnât really that she was looking for something completely serious but more like someone she could have fun with and see where it went but didnât want someone who wasnât going to want to be around her. She stood at the bar ready to order another drink and laughed to herself for a moment before looking at the person standing next to her and she sighed, âWhy is it that it is so hard to just enjoy a date these days? I mean is it hard to find someone who matches your energy or something?âÂ
-
âUhm.â She started, it was a loaded question, and the person sheâd been waiting on had yet to show up. Classic for him, but for her, it was always annoying. âBecause men are assholes.â She said with a grimace, âand they donât even realize they are assholes,â Scarlett continued, âand when you inform them as such, they get mad about it.â She ended with a shrug, before taking another swig or her drink. âLet me guess, shit date?â Why else would the other even ask that question? A no brainer to her.Â

ââ ⢠OPEN STARTER
ââ @ BASIC KNEADS
Rachel was a foodie since she was a little girl. She loved trying new things, but she always gravitated towards the classics. Pizza was an important meal in her life and Providence Peak had to prove itself. As she found her way to the closest pizza place, she looked up at the menu to see the variety of options. Chewing on her bottom lip as she became indecisive about what she wanted. Plus, who knew how good it could be? She looked over at the figure standing close by, putting a hand out in front of her. âYou should order first, I dunnoâ what I want just yet,â she told them.Â
âAny recommendations?â
-
She might have been waiting there, for like 8 hours. Okay, maybe not that long, but the brunette was anything but patient, and god was she hungry. Sheâd forgotten to eat earlier, when it was actually food time, and now she was sure her stomach was going to eat her as she stood there. Hunger pangs gripping at her torso as the girl in front of her, took well-- a life time to order. âOh thank god.â She said when the woman said she could go ahead. She didnât want to die of starvation behind her. âUh--â She looked back at her, âfrom here, generally food.â Sarcasm in a cajun twang lacing the words, before she turned back placing her order, finally, with a little nicer-- but really not, âI really like pineapple on pizza, even though I know most people donât.âÂ

Emmy rolled her eyes at the womanâs comment on being poor; they were a long way from where they had started in Baton Rouge and she was sure that the dealership building in front of them would have been too fancy for pretty much anyone other than the gated elite who actually lived in Summit Lake. âListen, youâre not poor, if you were you know Iâd give you like⌠five dollars or something. Iâd never let you suffer.â The tease came with a nudge of her shoulder against Scarlettâs and an amused laugh. Surely the only one who thought Emmy was ever actually funny was only Emmy herself. She was partially surprised that the other had managed to stick with her after all this time, but the two never stopped being thick as thieves, even when distance separated them. âWhy? Because people always leave, Scar.â Her tone was light, eyebrows raised jokingly, even though her chest tightened at the thought. âAnd if people always leave, I might as well grieve them in style.â With a flourish of her hands in the direct of the car, she nodded in Scarlettâs direction. âBesides, itâs red, not black. So think Peyton Sawyer, but with my own twist.â
-
âOh my god.â She said almost deadpanned, before half her mouth cocked into a grin, âcan you spot me five bucks?â She asked, âsince youâre like, filthy rich now?â She finished, brow rose, entirely joking, but the brunette was not one to turn down cash. Her mama ainât raise no dumb ass. Someone dumb enough to give the money away, she would take it, with an open palm. âJesus Christ.â She said, a thick cajun accent dripping form the words as it did when she was exasperated, âyou arenât--â Scarlett started before pausing. Deciding she was going to let Emmy have this one. Because well, people always did leave. Even if they both were guilty of being the people sometimes. âThis however,â she shook her head, âis not style.â This wasnât her type of car and it never would be, âremember that bug I had in high school? Now that!â She said, clearly a fond memory passing over her face, âwas fuckinâ style at itâs finest.â Another sigh, âfine, but you have to drive me around forever, because we both know these delicate ankles are tired of walking.âÂ

âOw!â He said when a rock the size of his pinky hit his chest but he was going to milk it enough to get himself a free breakfast this morning. âItâs early, theâŚ.â sun wasnât even up which was what he was going to say until she said it before him. âYouâre insane.â Never would have told anyone else that but he knew her enough to know that it was the truth of the matter. Rolling his eyes, he moved to the buzzer and buzzed her in before heading to his room to put on some jogging pants. When he heard the door open, he called back. âIâm eating breakfast before we do anything.â
-
The brunette climbed the stars, immediately rolling her eyes as soon as she saw him, âone, I am not insane.â She started, holding up her index finger, âtwo, itâs not early, youâre lazy.â She said, her middle finger going up, keeping count as it were, âthree--â she paused, ring finger going up, âthatâs gonna slosh around when were running so I am just gonna say it now. Bad idea man. Bad idea.âÂ

Benji was sound asleep until he wasnât. Turning around to look at his empty room, he paused to listen to the sounds that had woken him up. A voice ⌠and he knew. âWhat the âŚâ Rising up from his bed, he made his way to his window and pried it open so he could look down at the figure he already knew would be down there in herâŚÂ âNo. Itâs too early to go running, Scar. I havenât even had coffee yet.â He moved to the balcony and stepped out on it in his boxers, sending his neighbours a nervous smile to indicate all was well and they didnât need to call the cops on the crazy brunette below. âCanât you just come up and we can eat, get some caffeine⌠chill.â
-
She hadnât realized heâd opened the door. She fully expected him to still be asleep, so she was going through the motions it took to wake him up. So a rock was already in her hand it was already winded back ready to go. And it was in hurling through the air, meeting his chest as he stepped outside. It wasnât until it actually hit him that she realized he was there. âItâs not too early.â She yelled in response, âup before the sun dude, how lazy are you?â She questioned, before sighing, âbuzz me in then, ya idiot.âÂ
