I get the point they're trying to make, but posts calling being unsure and concerned about voting for someone who is currently committing genocide "having a tantrum" are not only grating but condescending and offensive to his victims. And why yes I'm also concerned about signalling to the rest of the world that Genocide Is Okay Actually, Even If You Do That Americams Will Just Vote You Right Back Into Office.

Thanks for 100 followers, take these as a gift :) My silly goofies.
First, aircorn being cute lol. Airy is strong, it's a given he's made of metal. Popcorn by physicality should be weaker, but she's not of this world sooooo f logic. Also, gurl be careful cuz if you drop him it's so over.
Ugly ass gijinkas.
Some old interview things I made a bit ago. Basically, me summing up what they see in each other and someone (probably Liam maybe) explaining why it's a poor choice in a partner. (Liam don't know the Popcorn lore yet >:) ).
There's gonna be Popcorn lore and more doodles below the cut.
[TW for creepy eyes ig???]:
For those who don't know, this is based on that one post about brown and blue eyes. It fit them perfectly, so here's a shitpost about it.
Also yeah, when I was developing my Popcorn lore, I knew she was gonna have scuffed eyes, but I wasn't sure what (I considered the current ones at first but I wasn't sure.) Then I saw some posts of him having Algebralien eyes and I thought "what if I made it scary?" Hence this.
Here's more bullet points about Popcorn to think about (I think I wrote too much oof):
She's not an object. She just feels most comfortable in the body she has right now (he's had some serious dysphoria in the past).
Although she has no real "sex", he goes by she/he.
She does not have a "real" name either. She just goes by whatever object (or other creature) she happens to be.
She is a shapeshifter, but it has limitations. Violent limitations. Her current body? He killed an empty bucket of popcorn and is basically wearing his skin. All her other morphs (including the non-object ones)? Killed them too. Her plethora of voice imitations? DNA takings, usually through violence.
She stole the 3D glasses from a store during her first week on Earth.
She has two very different personalities when he has the 3D glasses on and off.
When the glasses are on? Silly goofy. A ball of chaotic sunshine with little to no consideration for her or others' wellbeing.
When the glasses are off? She is incredibly angry and full of anxiety. He is incredibly violent and super unapproachable for the most part. Only a very small amount of people can see him with her glasses off and be okay. *cough cough* Airy *cough cough*
The only thing that remains consistent about all their morphs are the eyes.
Speaking of eyes, she's scared of eye contact because she loses control of her body when staring at someone. It's like a conscious form of sleep paralysis. She can only control her body when staring at someone if they're scared of her and actively trying to flee.
Also, since Airy really likes her eyes, they stare at each other a ton (even if Popcorn is sometimes uncomfortable). Airy gets good at reading Popcorn's eyes after a couple of times of that and learns when to look away for her sake. Airy probably stared at her for 10 minutes the first time he saw Popcorn's eyes and made her not want to look at him for a while after that.
If any of these intrigues any of you, feel free to adopt these headcanons into your own. I'm open about that 👍
Have a nice day fellas :)

Oh fuck the Hades game is gonna reignite Aphrodite and Hephaestus’s marriage discourse huh?
Ah well as Hephaestus’s divorce lawyer I’ll have to tell everyone that Aphrodite was in the wrong over and over.

i think so often about the fact that grant says he doesn't have feelings but he also . Thinks he is at fault when he does. And i think about this a lot bc it is basically reaffirmed over and over because his love Does end up hurting people and. And.
i think of this specifically in the context of him killing terry. Because his instruction is just to stop them. and the most efficient way he can think to do that is killing one of them. And he is BLAMED for that and i think. I think That is where i disagree. because i think when u look at it in perspective of grant's own feelings it Makes Sense.
Like. This specific instance? That is born out of the part of him that DOES feel, the part of him that loves and protects.. and i think that makes it So Much Worse. because grant doesn't stop at anything really. He can get hurt, he can hurt other people, he doesn't have trouble with it. there is very little that could be done to Him Personally that would make him give up on his mission.
but if it came to someone he loves getting hurt? Well. That might stop him.

Question: what’s your source on the phytoestrogens? Bc the only times I’ve ever heard that claim, they all source back to this one study on sheep in like the 40s, which… well it’s not very well supported
(Although maybe you don’t care about that, which would be fair. These are fictional cats after all not clinical studies)
You're probably coming from Hbomberguy when he was specifically addressing lunkhead chuds, who pass around the claim that phytoestrogens lower human fertility and sex drive. The "soyboy" claim.
Human studies on the effects of phytoestrogens are pretty lacking overall, but what does exist doesn't back up that claim-- because humans don't graze on red clover in west australia like a sheep. What that means is that it doesn't impact human fertility the way a terrified conservative brain stem thinks it does.
(ESPECIALLY not in a plate of soybeans, which has significantly lower levels of phytoestrogen than red clover.)
But what it DOES do is bind to the estrogen receptors in your body (and acts as a really good antioxidant but that's neither here nor there) which can mean it can act AS estrogen... or as an antagonist.
If you want to know more (especially if you have a background in chemistry, this source talks a lot about the structural similarities between estrogen and phytoestrogen and the mechanism of action) then go dive into PHYTOESTROGENS IN FUNCTIONAL FOOD by Fatih Yildiz, which collects together many of the studies that we do have on the matter and omits controversial ones.
(Plus it's an easy read for such a science-heavy publication imo)
Though I have to stress that my HRT guide is, y'know, fake cats! Nothing in nature replaces modern medicine***, but I wanted to make a good resource for WC fans with trans cats who wanted a little bit of scientific accuracy, wanted to cut herbs that cast Liver Failure 1000 on felines, and could reasonably be found in a temperate environment
***= Except medicinal maggots. Medicinal maggots are literally magical. Nothing debrides necrotic tissue like green bottlefly larvae and as far as I'm concerned they're the closest thing to divinity we have on this earth. And medicinal leeches I love you leeches im so sorry that anyone has ever called you a pest you're cherubic angels and she doesnt deserve this </3

no bc deadass the rescue bots are straight up mean as hell. like, they arent evil or immoral they’re just rude. to the point where they’re meaner than the decepticons ok like megatron kept avoiding actually gettind rid of starscream despite the constant murder attempts but heatwave was willing to get rid of two of the other bots (blades after he abandoned a rescue bc of an avalanche and blurr bc blurr). heatwave is more ruthless than megatron which is so damn funny. blades keeps insulting people for no good reason (sometimes it makes sense but like quickshadow’s accent and how she talks made him so upset). chase is harder to see but he’s willing to do anything to follow the rules and he tends to repeatedly bring up other people’s issues (i dont think i have to explain but like example is little white lies. that whole episode). boulder is very sweet most of the time but the instant heatwave gets in on it he does too. multiple times in the show this has happened (off the top of my head when blades got the scoop claw hw and boulder were laughing at him and when hw made fun of blades boulder laughed, also heatwave was saying blurr was super annoying and boulder agreed).
to be clear this is a good thing. i wanna see more complex characters who are still fundamentally good people!! you can be callous, have low empathy, be egotistical, get angry, make fun of ur friends and still make good choices and still help people. you at your worst and you at your best are still both you, but your worst being bad doesn’t mean your best isn’t good. especially because morality wise the rescue bots are the best people. i mean, they aren’t war criminals (or regular criminals), they don’t physically harm others, they don’t put others at risk (at least not intentionally), and they literally had to pretend to be actual machines while risking their lives every day. these people who treated them as essentially slaves were who they had to protect. and they did it, over and over again, without hesitation. and i think they deserve to be a bit rude for that, and because their meanness comes from caring. if they didn’t care they wouldn’t bother to speak up and be heard, even if it’s in a disrespectful way. but they do.
anyways idk rescue bots brainrot and the concept of a fundamentally good society have been eating away at me.

... it's just hit me that lister describes the bathroom kiss as assault and even when jimmy reassures him that he doesn't see it that way and doesn't have a problem with it, lister refuses to accept that it was anything other than objectively assault
while two days earlier jimmy insisted that a 32-yr-old having sex with lister at age 16 was wrong, despite lister not seeing it that way and not having a problem with it
does that mean that lister took that conversation on board but only as far as "the person on the receiving end of an advance can't accurately assess whether or not it was wrong" and is now equating himself to the woman that took advantage of him . because i will weep

The whole time I've been reading Flatland I've tried to picture what a comparable version of it would be for a 4 dimensional being visiting a 3 dimensional being. I've been picturing 4d vision as being able to see the entire surface area of a 3d object all at once, but now I think that might be comparable to a 2d person thinking that 3d vision only means being able to see all of the exterior edges of an object at once, without picturing any of the planes that connect the lines. I think a more accurate description of 4d vision might involve being able to see *every single* cross-section of a 3d object all at once, from *every possible* angle at once, as one coherent visual whole. And the idea of someone being able to see every single cross-section of a body all at once, brain and guts and everything, laid out all together as if on a flat plane, is a horrifying mental image

Discussing the NCR (Fallouts NV's Military Industrial Complex)
Fallout regularly discusses the idea of the military, its faults, its strengths, and most importantly, the psycho-social aspects of it regarding those who are members. We have seen a direct critique of the military generalized through the Enclave's overt nationalism, the hoarding of resources and indoctrination through the Brotherhood of Steel, and an almost eerily modern critique of the whole military-industrial complex through the NCR in New Vegas. In these series of posts, I will be focusing primarily if not exclusively on the last one.
The NCR we see in the game is strictly the military side of things and the depiction of active occupation during a time of eminent war, conflicting factions, and resource scarcity. It is in this we are missing a major factor that negatively affects the view of the NCR in the game and out: Civilian life along with citizen opinion on the military. While we do get Mojave civilian opinion on the military (often neutral or negative) we do not get those who are New California Republic citizens, not those who actually discuss the military more so not understanding the importance of the occupation and the President's choices.
We do not see how life is regularly lived by the average citizen as we have not seen New California in New Vegas, though, we get words and glimpses that the people are relatively content in the growing country minus the fact many people are not happy with the choice of encroaching on the Mojave. This most similarly reflects it's real-world application that many civilian citizens reject acquisition and war due to the economic effects it has on the country and the general violence/loss associated.
In this, we come to an issue of losing a perspective that is unique to the NCR as a military representative. The Brotherhood is notably a place where its active members are intertwined with its efforts, the young are raised to be scribes, paladins, etc... To where even if one is not fighting for The Brotherhood, they are still intertwined, it's propaganda is the life. The Enclave is even more cut n' dry in that it is mostly made up of government representatives. It is a group even smaller than the former, even more selective and intertwined that their propaganda IS a form of Eugenics. The NCR is unique in that there is a clear distinction between what is the military force, the civilian population, and the choice if one wants to be a part of the former.
There is a distinct difference in the cultures of the factions you are born into and those you must enlist or join (forcibly for some). While this is a long-winded way to get into the actual discussion I want to facilitate throughout these posts I wanted an initial background post to understand the aspects I am and am not exploring and explaining along with a hub post to link everything I intend to discuss in the coming days and weeks, starting with:
Why Do People Join the NCR?
...which will be discussed and linked back here like everything else regarding to this topic.

Merlin has infact scammed the knights out of their money more than once over the years to the point where he was banned from gambling with them by Arthur due to the amount of complaints he got from the knights
well of course this makes perfect sense, its just a bit naive that you'd think money was the only think merlin was scamming the knights for

no offence but this is kinda wild to me given that all the examples given of tumblr staff “disrespecting” core/legacy users are just staff reps being like “We have no money. We repeat: We have never turned a profit and we have no money. We have a very small overworked staff we cannot afford to bend to your whims and our only option to continue actually running this place is to desperately throw shit at the wall to maybe maybe hopefully attract new people because WE HAVE NO MONEY AND WILL SHUT DOWN IF WE CANT MAKE ANY!!!!!” and the response is “so you hate us? you want us to fucking die?” This is not reddit they are not doing this for obscene profit margins they literally dont make any money they have to literally beg us on their knees to buy their stupid goncharov tote bags and custom shoelaces because if we dont the whole house of cards topples forever. omg

When ranking a Dragon Ball movie, I use the four Cs method
Listed in order of importance:
Characters (how much I like everybody in the movie + their dynamics. This includes heros and villains)
Coolness (how're the fight scenes? How hyped am I? Am I going to be quoting it until the day I die?)
Concept (Is something new and fun introduced? Or are they just gonna reveal some new space dickhead/Frieza is back and the solution is 'Punch Harder')
Coherency (does it make sense? Does previous DB lore back it up?)
So for instance, a movie that is very cool and fun to see (subjective) with characters I like to watch do stuff but that makes no sense literally at all will rank higher than a movie with a well-put together plot but with characters I've seen do shit all the time
It's why I have a fondness for Bio-Broly even though it sucks. I like when background characters get to fuck around and I think the idea of a fucked up Broly clone rules.
Concept basically measures 'is this just a worse version of a canon arc?' eg Cooler, Android 13, Tree of Might, that one DB movie I can't remember but also ends in the panty wish; else it measures how many times has dragon ball done this before, like 'there is a guy from space and he is strong' like Broly's Return
