AITA for removing “minor” from my bio?

there’s been a lot of posts about this, wondering about my situation. so i turned 16 fairly recently. this does make me still a minor, but the age of consent in my country is 16, so i don’t feel like i’m being sneaky/misbehaving/a freak (lol) when i’m lurking in nsfw stuff anymore.

i still don’t interact with it (i’m lurking, no liking, reblogging etc) so there’s no connection at all to my blog. i probably wouldn’t feel comfortable doing that anyway, since most ones (justifiably) require an age in your bio which i just have not put. i understand why blogs require this, but i don’t think i’m putting anyone in danger because

a) not interacting, so again there’s no link to my blog

b) according to the posts this is relatively common? there would be cases about it all the time otherwise

anyway, a lot of blogs that had “minors dni” in their bio followed me when i still had minor in my bio (technically it was actually in my pinned, but again not hard to find). i don’t think they were being malicious, just the nature of the circles i’m in on tumblr means there’ll be a lot of kinky people (think d&d) and they just didn’t check.

i don’t think it’s my responsibility to block them, they’re breaking their own DNI, not me, and not everyone goes through their new followers blogs.

however now with the minor part gone, they won’t know if i break their dni or not.

i’m not planning to and haven’t interacted with any primarily nsfw blogs anyway (some of my friends do “hornypost” and i just ignore it) because to be completely honest doing anything nsfw on my main is kinda a turn off lol.

lurking feels safer and more comfortable so i think i’ll stick with that.

but yeah, i’m worried people won’t be able to uphold their boundaries when interacting with me directly anymore, but i also feel like i’m maybe not obligated to disclose that? i get id be in the wrong if i was Lying about my age to get into nsfw spaces, but i’m not doing that.

i don’t feel comfortable disclosing my age on my blog anyway, minor was a blanket term i was comfortable with to get nsfw blogs to stay away but i feel like i’m in a weird in between space atm (i know. i know im still a minor. but i’m in an adjusting period and i’m trying to get comfortable with the idea of being an adult in two years.)

a lot of this info is probably irrelevant, but maybe i am an asshole for other reasons, so. mod if this gets deleted for being too long/weird/rambley i understand 👍

This account posts daily facts and trivia about Project SEKAI! I occasionally do longer analysis/content overview posts as well as some event speculation.

This account is currently operated by one mod and is scheduled to post daily at 4pm UTC. Bonus facts may be posted if I find something interesting in newly released content.

Rules:

Must be canon or otherwise official - Content from any server of the game (including cards, stories and songs etc), music videos, Petit SEKAI, official artwork or 4komas is OK! I will also accept content from the anthology mangas and magazine articles. In other words everything is fine except fandom stuff/unofficial fanworks.

If the fact is related to Vocaloid/Virtual Singers, it must be relevant to Project SEKAI in some way.

No leaks - Leaked content is usally low quality and I will not be able to post the fact until the content has been released officially, so I'd rather you didn't submit it at all.

Please submit a source for your fact - a screenshot, image, video or link is OK! If you don't have any then that's fine, but please at least tell me what story/card/etc is the source so I can get the screenshot/image myself.

If the source is not available on the EN or JP server, or is not available online, please attach an image/video! - I only play on the EN and JP servers, and will only be able to get screenshots and recordings of content available on those servers. If your fact relates to content exclusive to any other server or is from a physically published source and you do not provide an image/video, I will not accept the submission.

Asks are also open if you have any questions about a fact or if you have any general questions for me. Due to the incredibly overwhelming amount of asks I get nowadays, it is impossible for me to answer everything. Sincerest apologies for that. I still try to answer as many as possible but it could take a while for your ask to get a response. Also please do not ask me about shipping.

Tagging

Characters are tagged Firstname Lastname (excluding Vocaloids). For example, facts about Ichika will be tagged as Ichika Hoshino.

Events will be tagged using the translations from the Project SEKAI wiki, rather than the official English names. This is just for consistency so I don't have to go back and redo tags whenever EN changes a title.

The media will also be tagged (e.g: Hatsune Miku: COLORFUL STAGE or Petit SEKAI)

Send me an ask/comment if you need anything trigger tagged. Triggers will be tagged "trigger tw". Flashing lights is the only thing I actively tag atm.

So what you're saying, Sid, is if I wanna see your movie, the closest thing I can watch atm is Deadgirl?

Okay short answer yes but also I do need to give a warning about this movie because there is a LOT of fucked up content in it including necrophilia and rape and abuse towards women, the whole premise of the movie (that I was unaware of going in) is that two guys find what is essentially a zombie girl in an abandoned hospital, and one of them wants to use her as a sex slave while the other has common sense and tries to talk him out of it.

I promise my movie isn’t like that lmao, mine is about a group of guy friends who find a dead girl in the woods and agree not to tell anyone about it but the ghost of the dead girl haunts the main character as he tries to find out what happened to her so he can help her out of guilt, but also it’s the catalyst for the friendships between these guys falling apart, including the two main male leads and just how close they are. The reason I like Deadgirl so much is because a lot of the imagery was what I was imagining for my movie, and there’s a lot of focus on the male friendships while the titular dead girl is mostly a prop character who you are meant to feel sympathy for and are meant to feel bad for what these guys are doing to her, which is kind of similar to my story. Mine just has less corpse-fucking in its premise than this movie does.

Once again I’m very serious about the content warnings, don’t watch it if that kind of sexploitation stuff upsets you or grosses you out (I already mentioned in another post that one of the guys finger fucks the dead girl’s bullet wound) but if you can handle that kind of shock and disgust then I’d say give it a watch. Personally I’m only halfway through it but it’s just sunk into my brain so much that I can’t stop live blogging about it lol

Things I write: I typically favor M allergies, but do write F/NB characters, colds, and fevers too (equal snz rights bc snz is snz)! I eat up hurt/comfort, so whump and very minor injury are often applicable to my stories. Again, keep an eye out for the TWs if you have concerns!

Things I DON’T write: I’m NOT an emeto person at all (I’m phobic IRL), but personally won’t turn away if it’s mentioned in a fic. You’ll never see a full fic from me where emeto is central to the story, but it could be mentioned (check TWs to be safe). I am also NOT into writing about real people or making furry content (sorry)! I’m self-conscious about writing OOC, so I don’t typically write characters from series I haven’t seen or am at least vaguely familiar with.

HEHEHEHEHH OF COURSE!!! and the reason for that is probably bc i haven’t posted very many details about them!! most of my rambles have been contained to dms with two of my friends and a currently 2.4k word doc of word and idea vomit 👍

anything posted before the most recent ask hasn’t been tagged correctly either, iirc i had a brief summary of the group a while ago though, tagged with “nightcord wxs” i think?? cause i didn’t have a name for them yet at the time. not changing it cause i’ve figured out more stuff since then so it’s sort of outdated. there’s probably a few posts lost in the marlo’s stuff tag, though that i didn’t tag properly but it’s okay those rambles are probably somewhere in my google doc.

anyway, since you didn’t rlly specify something in particular i’m probably just gonna ramble about whatever comes to mind. once again under the cut cause i can tell this is probably gonna get a bit long:

hollow ☆ wonderland is an online music group, and their videos are like kikuo style ones. but not necessarily ones like you are a useless child and aishite, more ones like and then you became the moon, welcome to the star inn, don’t look at me in that way, etc. pretty cutesy and happy sounding with a cute art style and then the lyrics tell a pretty dark story. that’s their general vibe. there’s a few songs i associate with them like judas by abuse (like i mentioned before) but i can’t confidently say it’s the kind of music they’d make. maybe that’ll change though we’ll see.

the group is composed of hoshi (tsukasa) the main lyricist, koki (emu), the artist, tako (rui) the animator and eventual co-lyricist, and kurage (nene), the composer.

they’re all silly online friends who like making music videos together and while none of them really talk about their issues pre-main story given that they’re not super close/don’t know each other super well yet, they still enjoy doing this together and care at least a little bit about each other.

i’m still figuring out how exactly the main story goes, but i’ve definitely made more progress now so HOPEFULLY i figure out a coherent story soon. i rlly do want to write a fic for them but don’t get your hopes up too much.

a few basic ideas i do have currently are some stuff like tsukasa, despite also being on his last hopes like the rest of them, is going to be the one to really encourage them all to start theater again. their sekai is a rundown theme park with lots of fireflies around, all the plushies are still there but they’re also worn down and have lots of patches and stuff on them. wonder stage has been closed down already, but it hasn’t been like torn down or replaced with a new attraction or anything. will it make a comeback? will hw be using it? we will see :)

i think the world hasn’t even started yet is still gonna be their untitled too. i’m thinking for their unit fits it’s gonna be something similar to the circus jester set cards? or at least the face paint thing. i’m absolutely giving them the face paint thing. and then there’s some other plot ideas i have but i’m not totally sure about them yet and i dunno how much sense they make on their own so i’m not gonna add them here.

uh. tsukasas name is hoshi since it means star iirc? so obviously he gets that name. koki meant something like to glitter, to shine, and i think emu would have liked that enough to choose it. and i already mentioned why rui and nenes names are what they are 👍

hi! i'm obsessed with your royal AU but i've only come across it recently, is there like, an organized/cohesive place where i can see all of the stuff that you have put out to the public?? or is there a certain way you have tagged them?? i'm sorry, im kinda new to fandoms in general and i dont know how things work in regards to WIPs, is the end result going to be a full story or do you just like making "drabbles" (i think that's the word) and do you put them on ao3?

Hello! This is a great question, I’m happy to answer 😊 this is what I have as a collection/master post atm, I didn’t feel like going through and linking/organizing every single drawing and ask I’ve posted about it but it has the important posts and all of the writing I have available!

As of right now, I don’t plan for this to become a fleshed out, full story fic (because I don’t know how to do anything in small batches, it would be another hefty novel length fic that takes a year at least lol and that’s with it being my main focus) so yeah, I love putting out drabbles! When I have enough I might put them onto ao3 in order and link/add the drawings between, we’ll see if it gets to that point :D we’re building this story together slowly though!

The best way to see all of my royal au stuff, at time of posting, is just scrolling down my blog. I have everything tagged as “#royal au” and usually tumblr does a good job of finding all the posts when you search tags on my blog, but be warned (if you haven’t already) of tumblr’s fun little search system - it can be broken and unusable 🥲

(Re)introduction post

I seem to be gaining a lot of new followers atm (migrants from langtwt, I’m guessing! In that case: hello and welcome to langblr!) SO here’s a little bit about me and my blog!

About Me

I mostly go by Victoria online and it's what I prefer

In my 30s (yes I am a Real Adult with at least some of my shit figured out)

UK born and raised (East Midlands), although I'm moving to Japan soon!

I currently teach English as a foreign language on italki to students of all ages (current age range is something like 5-60), but will be teaching at an Eikaiwa from January

I'm also an aerialist (pole and hoop), which I teach and perform, a stilt-walker and fire performer (you can go visit my sideblog @jo-jenova if you're interested)

I'm also a fan of gymnastics, dance, writing (fantasy/sci fi/general fiction), baking, buying and owning books (and occasionally reading them), vikings (not in a weird white supremacist way), corvids, cats, Star Trek and, of course, linguistics

I’m currently awaiting an ADHD and autism assessment. I’m 99.9% sure I have ADHD and have pretty much no doubts that I’ll get a diagnosis (autism I’m less convinced of, but we’ll see what the experts say)

Languages

My native language is English (British - close to modern RP)

I also speak Norwegian and it is my main love/target language. This year I took the official B2/C1 exams and got C1. I write bokmål and speak a variety of Oslo dialect.

I'm also learning Japanese (current level: not quite N5). My goal is to reach a comfortable N5 level before I go there.

I largely understand Scots (more written than spoken), Danish (more written than spoken) and Swedish.

Languages I love and have some experience with but am not learning right now include: Finnish, Icelandic, Ukrainian, Tswana, Spanish

Wishlist: Korean, Cornish, Irish, Old Norse, Old English, Chinese

I can speak/understand a bit of French because I learned it for like 12 years but I've forgotten most of it (I do appear to be dabbling in it a little again though whoops lol)

I post primarily about Norwegian, Japanese, other Nordic languages, Celtic languages (Scots included as an honorary member) and linguistics, but occasionally I'll post about other things too.

About My Blog

My blog focuses primarily on my own personal language journey. I'm not really about aesthetics (you might get an aesthetic picture once in a blue moon) or pretending to be more advanced than I am. I mostly try to reflect where I am.

Sometimes this means I come across as bragging when I’m proud of myself or attention-seeking when I’m feeling down. That’s not my intention; I mostly just aim to be honest with myself and everyone else.

I post language logs once a week. These are so I can keep a track of what I've been doing and how I feel from week-to-week. They're not to show off how much I did or make anyone feel like they should be doing more. But if they make you feel that way and need to unfollow me because of that, then I understand.

Other things I post may include vocabulary lists, grammar posts, things related to linguistics, challenges and links to things related to my target languages that I find interesting.

I don’t do drama or discourse. I feel no obligation to respond to inflammatory asks and usually delete anything that I think is contentious. This is a language blog and it’s pretty rare that I deviate from that (I have a side blog for all my non-languagey stuff). But of course you can ask me questions about me and my life!

My blog is absolutely a safe space for people from all walks of life regardless of sexual identity, gender identity, ethnicity, nationality, colour, religion, size, IQ, background etc. If you consider that to be an issue, then you know where the unfollow button is.

I’m kinda terrible at replying to messages, so please don’t take it personally if I never respond to you.

My ask box is always open and anon is always on, so please feel free to send me any questions you have! (But uhh like I say I’m bad at replying sometimes so please just give me a nudge because honestly I may have just forgotten)

The Diary [Mark/David]

(ao3 is back up but I might as well finish uploading all my fics here as well. proof of how extensive the Elder brainrot is atm)

Where a store-bought anime themed notebook which David turned into his personal diary turns out to be an actual book with ultraviolet hidden text of the official epilogue of an anime franchise. Nerd problems.

The blinds were drawn over rain-drizzled windows. Three pairs of feet and an empty popcorn bowl were set on the table of David’s living room, where the Elders just finished watching the animated masterpiece of its genre, a mahou shoujo classic, Super Glitter Mew.

It was a journey. They finished the last season all in one day, a goal rarely achievable at the Elder Rock where they were constantly interrupted by children, and distracted by all the other anime merch they squirrelled into their dungeon.

But maybe it was for the better that they’ve been stretching out the run for distractions, taking it one arc at a time — they wouldn’t have come to face the ending that soon. They wouldn’t feel so invested and eager to see the finale.

It wouldn’t feel like such a stab in the guts that many questions were left unanswered.

Like, seriously! Was no one gonna answer what will happen to the remaining glitter warriors after they sacrificed their superpowers to defeat the evil?

The three friends shared this sentiment of disappointment, bouncing headcanons off each other while they let the ending credits roll.

“The final lines made it super clear that evil will make its return! What are they gonna do then?”

“I think Ichigo becomes a scientist to, like, figure out how to restore their powers.”

“Didn’t they hint in the second season that these aren’t the only glitter warriors? It will be someone else’s turn to save the planet…”

David trailed off when something on the screen caught his eye. A post-credit scene in which the main character, Ichigo-chan, held up and advertised what looked like a merch notebook:

“Don’t forget to pre-order the special epilogue book that follows our heroes on their final adventure! Comes with an ultraviolet light and a Glitter Mew Mew random charm. Not suitable for kids under…”

Barry sprung upwards. “We need that!”

In seconds, the screen was paused, and Mark’s phone was pulled out to start hunting down the item.

The first few searches brought him to sold out shops in japan and tumblr blogs showing their old merch collections.

The anime finished airing in 2016, which feels like it was three years ago but is somehow actually closer to ten, and so, unsurprisingly, the stock has run out since then. And even less surprisingly, the few resellers there were on Amazon took the opportunity to price their copies in hundreds of dollars.

Frustrated, Mark threw his phone between the couch pillows.

“Whose fucking idea was it to make an epilogue only accessible through these vintage priced books?”

“It probably wasn’t even that good.” Barry tried to comfort him, his big hand landing on Mark’s shoulder. “Besides, we already agreed how it ends in our hearts! What do you think, David?”

“I think it’s funny.”

That wasn’t exactly a response that made sense. It prompted both of his friends to turn towards him.

“What do you mean–” Mark began to ask when he didn’t elaborate further. It was like David was in a trance, still looking at the frozen screen.

Suddenly, he jumped to his feet. “Give me a second. I’ll be back.”

Then he was gone, loud footsteps running up the stairs.

Mark and Barry exchanged confused looks—sure David was prone to getting distracted and running off the road a lot in the creek but it was usually clear what his attention was drawn to. What could he possibly be looking for?

“Yeah! It’s here!” David exclaimed after a while. He sounded delighted. “I knew it looked familiar!”

“What did you find?”

“My old diary! It looks just like the Glitter Mew book!”

That’s all Mark needed to hear to spring onto his feet and sprint upstairs. Barry heaved himself off the couch and followed behind him.

Already from the doorway to David’s room Mark could see the undeniable resemblance to the item on screen. It had the heart planet logo of the show and everything. He could barely keep his excitement in. “Wha– give me that!”

David backed away when Mark reached out. “Wait— Mark no! Let go!”

Mark wasn’t just going to let go of the valuable merchandise item, hell no. But he wasn’t going to rip it out of David’s hold either, although he probably would have had the strength to. He needed David to stop making a scene.

“Please—! I told you it’s my old diary—”

“I don’t care about the diary part, I just want to see the epilogue!” Mark reassured him. He had no interest in reading about elementary school field trips and booger competitions and whatever else that they found cool at that age. He didn’t need to hear about middle school drama either.

“But it’s underneath!” David insisted, like that wasn’t clear. He sounded almost guilty. “I had no idea there was hidden text on the pages!”

Barry took the bait, turning into his overprotective mode like he so often did when David got whiny. Mark couldn’t exactly blame him for that instinct, he was more than ready to punch anyone for his shorter friend, but he didn’t consider it justified right now.

“Yeah, Mark, stop butting your nose where it doesn’t belong. A diary is too personal to share.”

“We’ve been best friends for a decade, what possibly could there be that I don’t already know about!” Mark didn’t relent.

By focusing on Barry for a moment, David gained an advantage in their wrestling competition, and before Mark knew it the sparkly book slipped out of his hand. He reached towards it, but David halted the attempt with his free hand. Then, following a series of conflicted facial expressions, he threw the book across the room.

That right there felt way too dramatic for the situation in Mark’s humble opinion. He sighed, pulling onto David’s arm instead of running after the diary. Maybe there was one more thing to clear out. If David was hiding anything it must be this. “Sit down. I already know that you’re nonbinary.”

“Ah—!” David squeaked in panic.

“You have that pin on your desk that sometimes shows in video calls,” Mark rushed to explain. He didn’t mean to fluster him. “The point is, we don’t treat you differently for it.”

“Mark! We agreed we’d let David share that when he’s ready!”

Mark covered his mouth when he realised. “Oh sh— I’m sorry.”

They figured it out about a year ago. Barry pointed it out on a random funny screenshot of one of their skype calls, the one where Mark was holding up his hair to make a little fountain on the top of his head. It was pixelated, but it showed up on a later call with more resolution that made no room for debate.

Barry had no idea what it meant. Mark, on the other hand, for no particular reason if you’re wondering, had the variety and history of LGBT+ flags well-researched. He spent the following evenings reading up on all information the internet provided about being non-binary.

“I… I was gonna tell you eventually… I just… needed some time to figure things out for myself,” David explained, rubbing his arms self-consciously.

“We tried to respect that, we really did,” Barry spoke gently. “Because that’s your story to tell. Or to keep locked in a glittery pink diary. It’s none of our business. Right, Mark?”

His voice rose at the end of the sentence in challenge as his eyes flickered towards Mark.

“Right,” Mark agreed reluctantly. He didn’t exactly agree it’s none of his business, but he was in favour of letting David take all the time he needs to come out. It was very much their business to protect David from anyone’s hurtful words before and afterwards.

“It’s okay though. That isn’t in the diary anyway,” David shrugged. He tried to appear much more nonchalant than he felt, but at least the nervous tension was already gone from his voice.

“It isn’t? Then?”

“Mark, come on!” Barry groaned.

“Barry! It’s the limited edition epilogue book we’re talking about!”

“No! It’s the privacy of our best friend we’re talking about!”

“There’s no need for secrets!” Mark shouted. This was getting on his nerves. He doesn’t care about the contents of the diary, he made that clear! “Not because I’m nosy. It just shouldn’t matter. We’re gonna be friends no matter what.”

David eventually relented, walking up to the diary. But. Mark had to stay out of reach and not peek while he read the text hidden underneath ink.

“It’s efficient. At least we won’t have to be squeezed on each other.”

Mark agreed with that. And he was gonna stand on his word. Except…

Except at some point, at the dramatic part, David can’t properly see the words anymore. He trails off a bit too often, and at some point admits that he’s just made up what the last sentence probably means because it’s so scribbled over. It’s frustrating.

They finally have the epilogue in their hands…!

And that’s when Mark makes the mistake of walking over, squatting next to David to look over his shoulder and letting his eyes roam over the ink—and the mistake is that he sees his own name. Followed by a heart.

“Cheating! Not cool, Mark!”

He only looks long enough to understand that this must be what David was so reluctant to show. David has a crush on him. Or had, at some point in time when he wrote the diary. That piece of information makes him forget about the epilogue story altogether.

He coughs and looks away. “Right.”

He pretends he didn’t read it, and that he isn’t currently losing his mind, because Kami-sama that’s a lot to process.

He doesn’t dare to look over to David even when he puts a hand over the diary to gently close it. “Sorry. For pushing you to read it. It’s illegible at this point.”

“But we appreciate you were still willing to try,” Barry adds. He pats the place next to him on the bed, where Mark should still be sitting if he wasn’t so impulsive before. “Come here. We’ll look up if it’s spoiled on Reddit.”

Mark follows suit, carefully sitting down next to David close enough to see the screen but not enough to touch. He suddenly doesn’t know if that’s appropriate.

It probably isn’t a big deal. The diary must have been written a while ago, so chances are David doesn’t even see him that way anymore. Everyone had an embarrassing crush at some point, be it an anime waifu of your lifelong best friend.

Yeah. So he doesn’t have to act any differently to how he’s used to.

But what if…

What if David still likes him like that?

He’s still dead spirited at home, admitting to Elder Mark the Second that he saw something he wasn’t supposed to and that now he has to consider whether he likes David back before David tells him. Otherwise he’ll hurt him again. He doesn’t want to hurt him.

He doesn’t even know if he wants to let him down. He hadn’t ever really thought about it—about liking people who aren’t printed on manga pages.

And he doesn’t even know if David still likes him. But the more he thinks about it, the more time they spend together, the more he finds himself fond of the idea.

He wonders if he should have seen it coming. If all that affection he now feels when spending time with David was always there just unrecognised, or if it slid into his inventory like the annoying dog from undertale while he was stunned by the contents of the diary.

And he concludes that he doesn’t know, but that if he wants to keep further records of its development, maybe it’s time to get a diary of his own…
