I mean, I think I’ve been taking care of my health pretty well?? Hugh’s been on my ass about it since I have so much work going on haha
anyways thanks for the advice. I’ll try the tea thing and see if that helps at all
okay I’m starting to think it’s not the weather anymore. I literally got so cold I couldn’t get out of bed earlier and had to postpone a match. then I check the temperature on my phone and it says it’s literally 80 degrees out??

oh! in case some of you were wondering how the Opelucid cleanup is going: a few weeks back Blake and Reshiram helped thaw out the rest of the homes, and now the city is almost completely ice-free! there’s still a few spots of it here and there, but it’ll probably all melt away for good come summer.
today I went to help cheer up some of the kids whose families’ homes are still being repaired. I put on my Riolu-Kid costume and took pictures with them, signed some autographs, and even set up a little scavenger hunt for ‘em! some of the cast members hid around the city pretending to be Brycen-Man’s hostages and had their Pokémon be the “guards” we had to defeat in a battle. everyone had so much fun! I think it really helped ease the nerves of their parents, too.

okay phew, a more lighthearted one lol. this story leans more towards funny than embarrassing
one time, when Auberi’s mom was letting me stay at their house during my first days in Kalos, we went to this big festival in Lumiose that also happened to land on Auberi’s birthday every year. Turns out they also had a mini tournament as part of the celebrations! and the winner got this fun lil trophy as well as a huge discount on food and gift shops for the duration of the event.
I decided to participate to try and win the discount coupon as a gift for Beri, but at one point I faced an opponent with a Mega Heracross. it was a small arena, and at one point Jeanne dodged a Close Combat that hit me instead. I got fuckin BLASTED into the wall. people were freaking out, and were seconds away from calling an ambulance. but my Ex-Galarian Champion ass, who has nearly gotten flattened into the ground by Max Moves on multiple occasions, got up and walked it off like nothing happened. I’m pretty sure half of Lumiose’s population is scared of me now
anyways, I ended up winning that tournament! I still have the trophy somewhere in my dorm I’m p sure.

fun fact, sometimes Loki’s antics work out for us. there’s been times in productions where when he decides to go off script it actually ends up looking better than what we originally have planned.
you know that three minute sneak peek that was released of Brycen-Man and Riolu Kid’s first encounter, and the scene started off with Riolu jumping in and using Force Palm to prevent Brycen-Man from hurting some civilians? yeah, that was improv. Riolu Kid (that’s me) was originally supposed to just shout from atop a building and grab his attention, but during filming when Loki decided to leap in and steal the show we decided it felt like a far better and more exciting introduction for the heroes! also, Brycen was fine- we’re required to wear protective gear under our costume that can withstand most Pokémon moves.

Contrary to popular belief the hardest films to make aren't big budget action flicks with crazy stunts and lots of CGI but feel good films about the bond between a human and a Pokémon. The best case scenario is hiring an actor who has the required Pokemon as their partner but sometimes that's not an option so you need to rent out a Pokémon specifically for acting and it's really hard to create a believable on-screen the bond between a trainer and Pokémon when they barely know each other and will probably never see each other again after filming is complete.
What's more, if the actor and Pokémon do end up forging a real bond the fact that they'll never see each other again becomes a problem and usually ends with the rental company or studio losing a mon.
#this is sort of happening with the rental Riolu I’m using for Brycen-Man#we call him Loki and the lil guy does whatever the heck he wants half the time#but he’s the only properly trained Riolu available for this role that we have around#thankfully my experience in raising a Riolu is helping us work around that a bit
