just read an interview where emerald fennell says saltburn is "gothic" and like..........no, it's not. it simply Is Not That.

you can't have a man fuck a grave and be like "ooh just like wuthering heights! this is gothic" because guillermo del toro and i are both going to fight you

#like......come on. saltburn spoilers ahead.#horror of love doesn't work because the narrative never decides if he did all this for Felix or for Saltburn #if he killed felix With His Hands in the Heat of the Moment maybe you have an argument. but not with poison in a preplanned murder #if the love was for saltburn then we should have gotten another gothic theme - the house as a character #the house as a character doesn't work because it simply isn't #i don't think we ever learned the actual layout of the house and it never was The Other in any scene #the walls aren't even the colors of his eyes!!!#horror of grief doesn't work because he's never out of control #he doesn't kill the others because he's out of his mind with grief. he was Always Gonna Do That.#and also your protagonist isn't an anti-hero because there is literally no point that you're rooting for him #ms fennell please tell me what you think gothic means #anyway what saltburn needed was - more homoeroticism more blood and more of him being a little sex freak #that probably still wouldn't have made it Gothic but it would have been an improved film

#I was going to reset my second town since all I really had done was terraforming and my main player already did a few HHP houses #and the main thing I wanna do is start HHP from scratch #but I decided to just start a new player instead #and you know what it's kind of nice starting up in a town that already has a neat layout #it's like the old games where you just work with what you've got #even though I'm literally not doing that bc I made the layout #but it was like over 2 years ago that I did that so it feels different #still undecided on if I'll develop the town itself but I might #my main goal here is to get clothes get emotes design every HHP house #but uh don't expect any pics for a while bc I need to go through and 'design' every house to unlock all the furni #and get screenshots of their requests #so I can go back and redesign everything with a full catalogue available #which is what I did with HHD

im moving in a few days and gonna have to buy some stuff for the new house and also i have to get a new computer soon because my laptop battery has started failing (its 7 years old) and a new external hard drive because. i have one but its the only place i store my files and if it fails basically all my art is gone SO i'll make a new comm info post soonish after the move, posting this to make myself STOP PROCRASTINATING ON IT ive been meaning to make a proper comm info sheet for like a YEAR at least. also i encourage people to buy the splatoon emotes or other stuff or just drop me a few dollars on my ko-fi if you wanna be super nice to me thank you :teehee: (imagine that pink splatoon emote from my pack here)

#every time every freakin time I decide to trust the secondary artist to do clean up on my layouts i am punished #i tell them every time 'my work is a guideline for you. you need to go in and fix it for your final art'#and then they send me back a file where the shading layer is the blocks and imprecise lines based on my sketch #so I have to go and clean it myself and redo a bunch of stuff #and then I just get to hear “oh wow their art is sooo good they've gotten so much better!”#staring into the camera like in the fucking office you guys know how much visual information i have to give them im drawing the entire sket #and when they go off my sketch and draw their own stuff it doesnt look right but When I say im going to ask for a revision they are like #'oh youre focusing too much on it'#HUH whAT am I NOT BEING PAID TO MAKE SURE THE ART LOOKS GOOD #i swear #okay deep breaths im fine im normal time do go shade a background i guess #wild ramblings

#logbook #hello im awake and abt t9 get up for my last shift this week #delivery came in ehrn i had like an hr left. when i lefg we had 3 palettes left for today.#delivery camr and guy was like 'we have yo wait for gc sup to c9me back from lunch to drive tomotor' what #i asked abt using a palette jack and hes like. oh yeah thatd work! what. WHAT. what have yall been dping nopw nvm dont care #also b4 that we broke down a table and cleared main aisle display and worked it out with mst and then store manager came and said nope #and to put it back. turns out hes sensible bc when he found out pogs changed he was like oh ok nvm then. but im staying out of those convos #thennnn after long day i drove to ml and helped them for a lil over 2hrs with moving houseplants insidr #im honestly so tired from yesterfay and was tired whrn i drovd there but im glad i did. it was a good lil shift.#and i helped c decide what the layout for the houseplants should be.#after i clocked out i cut my finger shsndmfmg and she freaked on me and 'doing eork off the clock gets you hurt' ok ok 😭#honestly ml was more fun then hl. usually is. broke a rule to do both double shifts tho. idc.#my first opinion is if its actually a problem my boss will say smth #my second opinion is what are they gonna do? fire me again?
