Bestie Meetup!!!

So as I'm sure most of you are aware by now, me and @calcium-cat are very close best friends. We first started talking to one another when she was was finishing her first fic A Little Bitty of Hope a few years ago and we've basically been talking to each other on an almost daily basis ever since haha.

However she lives in the US while I live in Ireland, which are quite far from each other as you probably know, so we've never seen one another face to face before...

But finally, next Thursday after over one hundred days of counting down and planning, me and her are at last going to meet and hug and do all those things besties do when they get together X3.

Both of us will be travelling to London to attend MCM Comic Con for the weekend and to say I'm excited to see my bestie and attend the con with her would be a huge understatement. Thursday seriously cannot come fast enough (though the Con starts on the Friday I am meeting her the prior day so the jet lag will hopefully be gone by the time it starts haha).

As a fairly shy, quiet adult, I still cannot get over the fact that someone is willing to travel several hours overseas on a flight just to see me (attending the con is a nice bonus tho) ... Especially as bestie has never been on a flight before like, girl what? Are you sure about this XD? I still can't get over it honestly, but I'm hugely grateful for it <3.

Rest assured Bestie that I'm going to make sure that this is the best weekend ever for both of us :3! You're super duper awesome once again and I can't wait to meet you at the airport... Even if we'll both be slightly out of it from both tiredness and jet lag XD.

And I promise one day I'll come see you in America!

I'm not sure how much we'll really be posting about the trip on here, since I'm sure there's things we both wish to keep private but we still wanted to let our followers know what we're up to, especially since the UTMV fandom is what brought us together as friends and is one of the reasons we're so close. So yeah thanks UTMV fandom for letting me find my best friend :3! I appreciate you all very much <3!

Fanders Sides Season 3 is complete

I finished writing it and in the last couple days I read it all: I can confirm that now everything works a lot better than before, I am satisfied wit hteh conclusion and I hope you will be too.

So, what happens now?

First of all, the episode analyses: they are all written, I just have to proofread them. Once they will be ready to go, I will post them - so you can expect frequent updates from now on.

After the episode analyses will be over, I will start posting the episodes of FSS3. They will be available on AO3 too, so you can save them here on Tumblr or on AO3.

And that's all for now. After all of this is over, I will write another post to explain what happens next, but let's not get too ahead of ourselves: this adventure is far from over.

Childe being the boss of a bank while being Absolutely Feral

The Tsaritsa sending Childe, A Boy From The Countryside Who Never Had Any Formal Schooling, to run her bank: This is going to be the funniest thing ever

In Childe’s head, accountants cover everything to do with numbers, so when he’s in doubt, he just assumes someone’s job is “accountant”. This is almost never true. Vlad is a bodyguard, he literally stands outside the bank doors, WHY WOULD YOU THINK HE WAS AN ACCOUNTANT--

Childe: Haha yeah I’m an accountant! Ekaterina, exhausted: You are not. But points for trying.

Childe, very proud: I work at a BANK! Nadia, who knows that Childe basically just fights people without Actually Working and is the office’s baby: That’s right, honey 😊 

Every night Childe gets tutored by someone who does work in the bank on various financial matters and he becomes ridiculously financially savvy even for a twenty-something working in a bank

Childe is crazy good at understanding money if you give it to him in terms of fighting-related things. “Wow, ten of these are worth one Dull Sword!”

Childe who doesn’t understand why people can’t just fish for a living. It’s simple. You find a good cave, set up a fire, and catch fish whenever you’re hungry. His employees are horrified. Childe, is this why you’ve been eating so much fish lately. Childe, are you just catching your own fish despite being one of the most well-paid men alive. CHILDE--

Someone shows up for an appointment with a bank advisor, and Childe, who is HORRIBLY disappointed after learning this truth, pulls them aside and is like, “You know they’re not a fiduciary, right? Banks just want to make money. They don’t actually care about you.” His employees are like. You literally are the boss of this bank can you please stop chasing away business

Childe watching a fisherman about to buy mutual funds or something: “You need to understand that they take a 2% management fee off this, which doesn’t sound like a lot, but in fact if you compare it to products from places that aren’t our bank, you could lose a lot in the long run--”

“Childe banks aren’t a scam” “Okay then explain why Andre the accountant taught me to always be careful about mutual funds with high MERs and then immediately tried to sell that same bad example mutual fund to a client HMMM”

Childe who honestly thinks the concept of money is a scam. Why can’t we just all fish and hunt meat together and share food.

Childe’s employees are ALL scrawny paperwork office job people so they’re like. Childe we can’t. Just hunt down wild boars. That’s primitive and we don’t have muscles.

Childe backseat driving to other people’s financial decisions and they’re like can you please get this twenty year old out of my face while I decide on mortgages. Childe doesn’t even give good advice he’s just really freaking annoying

And so it is done! Praise be our bird lady Hylea, even though she was a dick to me while making it.

I tried getting multiple different lighting situations, but unfortunately none are great. If we're getting some sunlight tomorrow maybe I'll post another one in natural light.

Now, eagle (hah) eyed viewers might notice that there are two different shades of pink in this banner. This is definitely on purpose and not cause I ran out of the first one and bought a wrong one to stock up and then only noticed when it was too late.

You might also notice that wings don't look like weaving. That is cause they aren't. While the egg and the top part honestly went amazingly well on the round loom, the wings unfortunately bend into the wrong direction for the most part so it looked garbage when I tried to weave it the way I do usually. I then tried to weave it on top of the background, using the weft as another warp, but didn't look great either. Then I got the idea to maybe use the fact that I branched out in textile arts recently and just try something completely different. I ended up using a backstitch basically, but through the string itself to make it stick in one line. Honestly I'm kinda proud of that thing, cause it did come out pretty good. (Except that the one top line somehow got too long which meant I had to staunch the right wing so it wouldn't look too off kilter but at that point it would have been ludicrous to try and fix it so I did my best to work around it.)

Tbh I was too lazy to look up proper rim techniques but hey it works, so whatever.

The next project will take a while for sure, because I have about 5 million Christmas ducks to crochet, so we'll see when I get back to it.
