i’ve finished Mark of Athena and haven’t started House of Hades yet!

(*this got rambly IM SORRY but im just so invested in this series*)

obviously i love percy but honestly jason is my fav right now i just wanna dissect his character and also wrap him in a fuzzy blanket and send him to therapy. leo also gets a honorable mention as one of my favs im obsessed. (i thought nico would be my fav but tbh i barely even know him yet but i know once i get more content he will be #2 if not #1)

for favorite scene oh gosh i dont knowwwww. my favs from HOO not in any particular order, but the stress of annabeth and percy falling into tartarus?? unmatched,, annabeth helping frank with the chinese handcuff was too pure. OH and the battle scene in charleston where annabeth called percy by throwing her knife in the ocean i screamed, and then jason and percy combining their powers??? SO EPIC i need more of that pleaseee OH WAIT and the double giant battle with jason and percy and bacchus lifting them into the colosseum??? THE GASP I GUSP i reread that chapter twice that has to be my fav. also with the iceberg battle scene from SON when frank describes how insane and intense percy’s fighting is like go white boy go!! same with jason’s final battle with the giant in TLH like holy fuck! i was scared of him and his powers!! seeing them finally like come to and him unleash them and remember his true strength was so cool!! honestly i need to reread TLH and SON again already i ate them both up.

my fav scenes from the first series were all the underworld scenes in TLO like nico getting sent to his room I CRIED THATS SO FUCKING FUNNY and the river styx scene??? dont even get me started thats my new roman empire I SWEAR. other random moments i think about a lot are bianca killing that skeleton zombie army man in TTC i remember being so shook like ??? 2. Do you read/reread your own fics?

yes! not very often, because ive not been in much of a reading mood lately, but i do! im also really proud of myself for getting to a point where i dont feel embarrassed of rereading my older works, which is super fun!

4. How many WIPs do you have right now?

soooo i had to go through my google docs to find out how many and. its 17 😭 insane, actually.

6. Are there any fics from others you reread all the time?

oh my gosh. YES. i read a few fics that are non-stranger things related over and over again BUT almost paradise by @hawkinsindiana is probably my absolute favorite steve x reader fic series ever. ive been reading it for like over a year now and its just SO amazingly written and in-character - i absolutely adore it and totally recommend it to everyone!! there are others too ofc but my brain is blanking right now haha

8. What project(s) are you currently working on?

the main things im working on are my mom steve month mini fics (im already a day behind rip me) AND a trilogy fic series im gonna write that im SO excited for! its a modern actor steve x reader romcom au!! its so silly and fun and i cant wait to actually work on it again to get ready to post it at some point!!

Gosh, so i read Runaway Max, and before i get into my book report this shit aint canon, it says its an official novel but im taking that with a grain of salt cause the cali backstory timeline doesnt match st3. But this book had so many moment where i was like oh man are they gonna go in depth with the child abuse at Billy AND Max by Neil?? And they just side stepped that narration everytime it came up. Also if i took a shot every time the author called Billy dangerous id get alcohol poisoning. I know its told from the point of view of Max but come on, you can be smarter then this. Anyways this is gonna be long and rambly probably

I just cant get over how many times this story touched base on not just telling but showing litteral child abuse and side stepped it each time, i guess the show does that too tho oop for starters fuck Neil, and also fuck Susan. If i was out on a family dinner and some man i knew for a couple months reprimanded my child for not calling him father, hed be the one being sent away from the dinner table not my child and it makes me so mad and sad that there are actually parents out there who are like that. Your gonna send MY daughter to the car for disrespecting you?? Great, im leaving with her. See you never.

Billy left the reasteraunt to talk to Max at the car and just, look. Let them bond over this awful man being awful. This to me read as Billy making an attempt to warn or maybe protect Max and its just left right here in that paragraph. It makes me so sad any possible understanding between the two starts and stops there. I know this is told from Max's point of view but its very obvious the author made up their mind on how one dimensional they think Billy is. Which is wild casue they kept pointing out signs of abuse in him, like prior to this car moment we have Max having this observation

My guy is out right dissociating, hyper aware of his surroundings and unpredictable moods is a damn trauma response. From the words of my dear friend "you wrote a beautifully wrecked character, dont throw that thing out and teach everyone to do the same" also this aint canon but max thinks Billy is fun sometimes and that has me so soft.

And then this entire last scene in the book with billy is just, so fucking tone deaf. "he was damaged. Broken, maybe" yall i thought we were going somewhere with that but nope, im the fool for believing an abused traumatized character would get properly acknowledged but it was a big "hes just like his dad so he'll never be good and also hes worse then his dad, hes crazy" and im foaming at the mouth.

This author is such a billy anti, i think st4 took notes from her for how to represent Billy. I know its all told from Max, a 12 year old whos just sharing her feelings and observations but so much of this was just. Hhhhhh exhausting.

It wouldve been so easy to have Billy zone out and dissociate with the burning cat instead of forcing him to laugh and act insane (also if you think lighting a dead animal on fire is the making of a sociopath have you never been outside as a kid and found something dead and just, fucked with it. Its dead, i think lighting a dead animal on fire is probably the most tame tampering you could do. Not to call myself out but when i was maybe 8 i found a dead toad and i wanted to know what its skeleton looked like and how it decomposed so i took it apart. Kids are bizarre and teen boys are kinda destructive.

The whole scene with billy coming home halloween night and getting beat was upsetting and how it was never mentioned again was infuriating. Him getting attacked by Neil, punched several time getting a black eye and bloodied lip then beaten with a fucking belt. How do you just willingly write that shit then turn around and go "oh yeah nah this 17 year old who ive just said was verbally and physically abused multiple times is a dangerous monster who doesnt deserve sympathy". Im over it, if aang can put aside a century long fued to help his abused enemy who in turn still chased him off but was redeemed in the end then Billy and Max have the stepping stones to do the same, have max put an ice pack down, let billy Sort himself out, its so easily im going insane

And that bullyshit narrative of saying Neil is racist and how Billy probably is too. fuck that, i cant speak for the racism but when i made my first trans friend i was nervous about having them at the house cause i wasnt sure how my family would react or treat my friend so i opted to keep her away too, my situation was more tame then Max, Billy and Lucas' and my family turned out to not be transphobic so it was fine but im gonna self project that Billy was just manic and worried about Max hanging with a black kid and what Neil would do to lucas and max if he saw them. Seeing as how the man got away with denying Max dinner right infront of Susan who did nothing. But also max says how shes not like her parents so its just unfair to turn around and go neil is awful so billy is also awful and wont ever get better

This book isnt canon but i want a similar book from Billy's point of view. But also all things considered i did like the insight into Max's possibly past in cali, her relationship with her dad and mom was pretty neat, even tho, say it with me, its not canon, i refuse, I'll believe in bigfoot before believing this book was proof read by anyone working on the actual show 🥴 i have more to say but its 2 in the morning and i think my eyes are leaking outa my skull, hope this incoherent lmaoo

top five fish GO!

number one is the coelacanth. really hard to tell with the username isnt it. sorry i just cant deny the appeal of the coelacanth. every interaction we've ever had with them has been so peaceful and watching them move is elegant and godly. they certainly feel like living fossils, its an apt title for them. theyre blue. they have stars in their scales. theyre gorgeous. such a charming fish

number 2 is the epaulette shark!!! this little guy is learning to WALK. they can crawl out of the water into shallower pools on their fins!! they waddle around like if seals only used their flippers to move, instead of throwing their whole bodies around. not to mention theyre cute as HELL. i find them comparable to the dachshunds of the sea i mean look at this widdol guy

number 3 is the ocean sunfish / mola mola!! holy shit getta load of these guys. while theyre insanely goofy looking, and while st first, many people may mistake them for brainless, lazy fish, mola mola are actually quite active! we as humans mostly just see them when they come to the surface to warm themselves back up after hunting in the deep ocean. these guys are also filled to the brim with a shit ton of parasites, and allow a lt of parasitic animals to thrive. mola mola r really cool. and very big.

the next is tricky.. its a total tossup, but i think hagfish take the spot. insanely charming animals to me. their little moustaches really endear me to them!! not to mention they have one of the coolest non lethal methods to shake predators off them! they secrete a disgusting slime from their skin when distressed. whenever a predator may go to bite down or get a mouthful of hagfish, the hagfish will release a bunch of slime, completely filling the predators mouth, and wiggle free. they also tie themselves into knots to position their own digestive tract better!! literally instead of just forming their intestines better they opted to evolve their bodies to be able to tie into a knot to be more efficient at eating. they fucking rule. 10/10 would eat next to at the whale fall

and last isssss....

i mean. look at these guys. theyre absolutely massive! and these arent even the largest theyve gone on record to get!!

sturgeons are best described as the freshwater whales of the great lakes. they are absolutely huge, theyre armored, and theyve even got the cutest little noses to top it all off!! beluga sturgeons specifically, though, are just absolutely humongous fish. they can grow to absolutely insane sizes, as you can probably see. gosh i love em though. unfortunately, they dont get as big due to our affinity for fishing them. they just dont get old enough to get that big.

honorable mentions go to most plecos, those catfish are pretty high up there, and most gourami species. sheepshead wrasse are also really cool, theyve got teeth and can change sexes. and i also like groupers. and electric eels (not eels. theyre fish.), and wobbegongs, and seashorses and ough god there are too many fish to pick 5. i gotta podt this now or else im gonna be arguing with myself over ranking fish for hours

the real honorable mention goes to the giant isopod though. not a fish but literally my fav sea creature

any and all fics glorifying and supporting bigoted or misogynistic ideals will not be tolerated or respected. this is non-negotioable but if the fic has any of this that results in the putting down of or generally recognizing these ideals as negative then that is completely fine!

you are to use the quote prompts in your fic (im gonna be loose on this though so dw!! :DD)

Woohoo, so after X amount of coffee, my brain cells finaly functioned, and i wrote... something(?)

fluff / sweet / something

You straighten your dress and check yourself once more in the mirror. All good, ready to go. You take your purse, throwing your phone in before leaving the apartment. Driving to Thomas and Hannahs engagement party, you feel nervous. Jake will be there, and you really wanted to talk to him. Ever since Hannah was back, you two never discussed your feelings for eachother any more. You never wer alone long enough for it to be mentioned, and you definitely didnt want to talk to him about it over in messages. You had no clue where you two stand at, so you hoped to talk to him tonight, and finaly find out.

„MC, you finaly came!“ Hannah cheerfully ran to you, embracing you in a hug. „Hi, Hannah.“ You hug her back. „Come, everyone is here already.“ She take your hand, pulling you towards the table where everyone sat. „MC! Finaly, I tought you might not show up!“ Jessy chimes, getting up to hug you. „You know me, I'm always fashionable late.“ You tell her teasingly, releasing her from a hug. „ Come, sit next to me, I have soooo much to tell you.“ Jessy pulls you to sit down and starts talking, but your mind was wondering, your eyes looking for Jake. You found him sitting at the other end of the table. He turned his head, and your eyes met. He smiles widely at seeing you, and you smile back, before Jessys words make you turn to her. „Hellooo, are you even listening to me?“ she asks. „Ofcourse!“ you say quickly turning to her „That is very interesting, indeed.“ You tell her, hoping she wont notice you havent really paid any attention to her words. „I know, right!?“ she exclaim, and you exhale relieve that it actually worked. You glance back at Jake, but he was looking the other way, talking to Thomas. Ah, well, I will have my chance later, you think to yourself, focusing back on Jessy.

As the formal part of the evening was over, people started mingling. You finaly have your chance to go talk to Jake. You wer chatting with Dan and Thomas, when you saw him standing alone at the bar. You quickly finish the drink you have in your hand „Sorry, boys, be right back, gonna get me another drink.“ „Easy there, MC, the night is still young.“ Dan teases. You grin at him heading for the bar. „Hello there.“ Jake turns to you „MC, Hi!“ He smiles warmly at you. „Been a while since we talked.“ You smile back. „How are you?“ you ask him. „Huh, i'm better now. It's been a rough few days.“ He says sounding exhausted. You look worryingly at him „ Did something happen?“ „Yes.“ He says thoughtfully „ Hannahs engagement party happened. She was giving us all a 'tough love' regime.“ You laugh. „Hey, dont laugh.“ He says desperatly „ It was terrible. I started hiding from her at a certain point. If it was that bad now, I'm scared to even imagine how she will be with wedding planning. And I'm running out of places to hide!“ „Awww, poor you.“ You look at him with a grin „Well, you can count on me in the future. Just give me a call, I'm sure I can provide you with a good hiding place.“ He looks at you with devilish glow in his eyes „I'll keep that in mind for sure.“ You feel heat coming to your cheeks at his gaze, and he was about to say something more when Hannah shows up. „MC, I was looking for you! Come, I want you to finaly meet my parents.“ You give Jake an apologetical smile and he smiles back, dissapointed look on his face, as Hannah pulls you away.

The rest of the evening wasnt much better. The moment you tought you finaly can go look for Jake again, someone would jump at you. You felt exhausted, and just wanted a few minutes to catch a breath. So when the opportune moment came, you quickly went for the balcony. The night was warm, and a soft breez blowing was welcoming. You lean on the railing taking a deep breath, enjoying the moment of solitude. „I guess we had a same thought“. You turn arround, Jake smiling at you, standing next to te doors. You smile back „Yup. Looks like you're not the only one who needs hiding.“ You tell him coming closer to him. „It's better when you have some company.“ He grins at you. „Definitely!“ you say laughing. „You look amazing, by the way.“ He says, and even in the dark you can see his eyes glowing as he looks at you. You feel your cheeks getting warmer again. “ Thank you. You dont look bad yourself.“ And he was looking good, with black pants and white formal shirt. You tell him teasingly „I never thought I will see you wearing aynthing else then the hoodie.“ He laughs „Neither did I. So don't get use to this look of mine.“ „Too bad, it looks good on you.“ You tell him with a grin. „Huh, thanks, but i still prefere my hoodie over this any day.“ He says grinning back. As you smile, you think, ok, finaly a chance to talk to him. You take a deep breath „Jake, can I ask you something?“ He looks at you intensly „What's up?“ „I was wonder...“ but you fel silent. „MC, you there?“ Your eyes widen at the sound of Jessys voice coming from near the balcony doors. All of a sudden, Jake pulls you to him, and you let a muffled yelp at his chest not expecting it. You look up, him putting a finger to his lips signaling you to be silent, as Jessys head peeks throuhg the doors. But she couldnt see you two , so she continued on with her search. You both chuckle silently. „Gosh, can't I have five minutes to myself.“ You say to him exausted leaning your forehead to his chest. He looks at you and raise his brow „How desperat are you for that five minutes?“ You look back at him „Pretty much.“ „All right, lets get you that five minutes then.“ He smiles and you snort „And how?“ „Do you trust me?“ he asks you. „Ofcourse.“ You tell him back. „Good.“ He grins at you, and in a few swift moves, turns from you and jumps over the balcony railing. „Jake!“ you yell through your teeth terrified, quickly moving to the railing, only to see him grinning at you from below. It wasn't that long of a distance, but still. „Come on.“ He says, extending his hands towards you. „Are you insane? I'm not jumping over it.“ Jessys voice echoed from the inside once more, calling your name. Jake looks at you with a smirk „You sure about it?“ You shake your head at him. „I cant belive I'm actually gonna do this, and wearing a dress no less!“ You take your shoes off, tossing them next to him, before carefully throwing your legs over the railing. „Don't worry, MC, I'll catch you.“ he smiles at you. „You better!“ You warn him, detaching from the railing, falling safely in his hands. „Nice jump. I give it 10/10 for the landing.“ He teases. „Gee, thanks.“ You grin, moving from him to take your shoes. „What now?“ „Now you have your five minutes. It's about how long it will take us to walk slowly back to the entrance from here.“ „And how do you know that?“ you ask him, putting your shoes back on. He grins „I don't, I'm just making it up.“ You laugh shaking your head at him. „All right, I guess we can start walking back then, before Jessy sends a search party after me.“ „Sure, if thats what you want.“ You look at him inquiry „What do you mean?“ „We can go the other way. There's a little park not far from here.“ He looks at you smiling softly. „Really? And what about the party?“ you ask and curs inside instantly, when all you wanted was to say 'yes'. He looks dreamy at you „ I would rather be hiding somewhere with you then go back.“ His words leave you breathles for a moment, the sound of your heart beating faster echoes in your ears „So, what do you say, MC?“ He ask, extending his hand to

you. „Will you hide with me?“ „That sounds so much better the going back to the party.“ You say and smile warmly, taking his hand. „Great! Lets go before someone sees us.“ He grins taking your hand tight in his, pulling you to him to start walking. „You know, we will have to think of a pretty good excuse why we left the party. We can't hide forever.“ You tell him with a grin as you two quicken your pace, murmurs of the party falling more silent behind you. „Mhm, im sure we will think of something good.“ he says, and looks at you with a devilish grin, intertwining your fingers with his „ After all, we have all night for it.“
