Annie, do you work out or are you into any sport? Is there some athlet you admire? I've been sedentary all my life, but now, at (almost) 21, I'm starting to feel the harms of this very strongly (like a bad self esteem and compromised health). Ever since I became a fan of the boys (almost 4 years ago), I had, for the first time in my life, this thought of wanting to change that... Seeing them taking care of their bodies and how it also makes them feel good about themselves. But I still haven't taken the first steps. 🥲 struggling with mental issues and being a social phobic really... Not that I'm making excuses tho. You'll probably relate to this feeling of knowing exactly what you need to do to get better in some aspects of your life, but you still can't bring yourself to do it? Like there's a button inside us saying "START", but no matter how much we want it, we can't press it, we just stand there, trying to reach it with shaking hands. I don't know how else to explain. But I hope that someday my fears, strugglea and shames will be smaller than my wish to change my lifestyle.

oh that’s such a critical topic for me too!!! everything you said I can relate to soooo so much 🥲 every like 4-6 months I get this URGE to get fit and work out, and sometimes I do actually start, but only last for 2 to maybe 6 weeks maximum until I give up again. I don’t know, it just brings me no fun, at least not as much to continue regularly? I guess I just haven’t found “my” sport yet. the feeling after a workout does feel nice though, so if you need a motivation to start, look forward to that! you will definitely feel proud of yourself. but be gentle, especially because you said you have health conditions! it would help to have other people that kick your butt and that you don’t want to disappoint by skipping a class/ workout with them, but I have the same problem as you – too much social anxiety and the lowest self-esteem ever for fitness classes or the gym 🥲 I hope we will find peace with that too someday 🤍

I’m not into watching sports or anything either, so I don’t have athletes that I admire. who I do look up to though is my mom. her self-discipline when it comes to working out is truly admirable, she lost so much weight by now (she weighed too much for her height and age before), the cardio she does is insane, and the best thing is that she has FUN with it. it’s lovely 🥺
