Tachibana and Nata Duo
Tumblr media
Gift for @milky-rozen @onnajosshumiwa because I am loving her Ginchiyo 💙💙🧡🧡
The inclusion of Lady Nata came from me vaguely remembering Milky mentioning how my Lady Nata's situation with Sōrin reflects Muneshige's situation with Ginchiyo and inspo arrived. 😳
Working with the orange and blue color palette with Ginchiyo was so fun 💙 And ofc when I saw Ginchiyo's outfit for the first time, the sleeves immediately made me think of European Renaissance clothing with large poofy sleeves like this for example:
https://blog.bridgemanimages.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/Licinio_lady-1.jpg?width=759&height=899&name=Licinio_lady-1.jpg
And ofc I couldn't keep the patterns of Ginchiyo's outfit out because including the patterns pull her sleeves together 🧡💙
I am planning to draw Milky's Ginchiyo again since I found some interesting outfits that are Ginchiyo's concept outfits in Nobunaga's Ambition and that have Milky's Ginchiyo's color palette 💙🧡😳

AHAHA I MADE IT
3 DAYS IN A ROW 4K+ WORDS EACH CHAPTER BB WO!
Chapter 9: Sickness through Young and Old
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chapter 10: Third Brother
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chapter 11: Within the Water
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because all the chapters go through almost the same arc! Let us have the three chapters be talked in one post.
-Let's talk about the first case: Sickness!
Because what literary story set in medieval Japan does not have a tale of sickness and good ol' unknown disease that will only get worse by time~
"Wait wasn't Tanjuro also sic—"
"Shhhhh sh sh shsh....We are gonna cross that river soon... soon."
But really, it seems that while looking through some good old diseases that have plagued Japan in feudal times, I have come across the fact that they also had those kinds of "Victorian era wailing for its last breath" kind of tropes there and I was like "how. Hoho.
Cool story I found was that of Minamoto no Tametomo fighting the smallpox demon, so maybe I'll make a reference to it some day... prob.
Is the disease Yushiro has a real one?
Yes....and no. Basically it's going to be ambiguous as to what it is, especially for the effects that it will come to play later, and most importantly, where the cure is found.
And now that we are talking about Yushiro...
The Idea of the Koucho's having the head being a woman actually was inspired by an actual onna bugeisha in the sengoku period: Tachibana Ginchiyo(1569-1602)
And out of all of the other women Castellans[i.e appointed women officials to lead a castle or command] Tachibana stood out to me due to the fact that her name may have meant (depending on the source) "to listen to the words of a discreet person".
Well, did she listen? did she not? Well the record of the family certainly said that she had the bravery of her father, the titled "Lightning God", and oh yeah, stepped out to become the heiress of the clan despite the her father's retainers trying to convince him to choose another family member from an extended branch as his heir.
And did I forget to say she saw through Toyotomi Hideyoshi's attempt of assault and chose to arm her and her maids with naginatas (and arquebuses too some sources say) while paying him a visit, and he wasn't able to do anything [though the account may be false, I took some ★★inspiration★★ of that too]
She also had an army of women she trained :).
I mean. To be honest there where so many other women out there too, Mitsuri, Daki, Kanao, Kanae Tamayo and Nakime's backstories will also have elements to other popular women back in the sengoku era while also mixing in their Canon backstories in the series.
But my favorite backstory drafts right now are: Shinobu, Makomo, Uta and Amane's
Because
Oh
My
God
Female Warrior Monks
Them. Even just thinking about their backstories make my bones chill bro, like the stories are so good I just wanna write it all down but I CaNT—
Yall I love this period so much I can't breathe. So many things bro I'm dying. It literally brings me Illiad levels kinds of HYPE!!.
Also the fact that Shinobu was trained by Himejima who is a monk like– I cannot NOT take this opportunity to make Shinobu a heiress, this without exactly the legitimate rule since she is still just a de facto daimyo as of now... as of now.
Also the fact that Ginchiyo married her childhood friend but in the end they didn't love each other and beared no children... :)))))
Are the other characters also modeled after famous Sengoku people?
Hell yes.
Though not one one specific person, more like the personalities are set from real people, and their backstory too but they are still, ya know. The same kny characters you know off.
The most obvious have already been seen honestly.
With Yoriichi acting out as the Kampaku, already a strong connection to Toyotomi Hidesyoshi.
And the two compelling forces of the story (AND MY FAVORITE CUZ OH GOD THE HISTORY! THEIR STORY! MUZAN ACTUALLY HAS BACKGROUND! KAGAYA TOO HELL YAS!) The Kibutsuji being a close resemblance to Oda Nobunaga and the Ubuyashiki a connection—especially since I said that the last battle was going to die of that from Sekigahara— To Tokugawa Ieyasu.
And our two new members
Akechi Hairo being a reference to Akechi Mitsuhide who betrayed Oda Nobunaga, while Hairo is just, lower moon 2 Hairo. [I don't sincerely have a few fleshed out backstories towards the Lower moons in this story—just like canon lol— but they still do have a bit of significance and relevance in some plots.
For example: The hand demon that we just say in chapter 11 and his Nii-chan.
And also Shinsaburo, 真三郎
真(Truth, same kanji as Makomo) 三(3, hehe) 郎(Young man/Male) who was a inspired by the poet and one of the government's leading generals in Kyushu, Imagawa Ryoshun(1326-1420), due to two things that will be part of Shinsaburo's backstory: His military achievement, and the tutoring of finest Uta poet of the fifteen century.
Moreover.
Poetry.
Damn.
Pretty good IG, if you know Japanese and kanji. I actually plan having those poetry contests[by myself :")] or making some waka during summer break once I start learning Japanese. I don't know if that'll work but It'll be fun.
I'll be like probably canon Iguro, just writing lovesick poems, but instead of Mitsuri it will be about the Maracuya iced mixed Soju[such a good drink it elevated me] and my ghost bunny.
Now.
WAR SHIPS ★v★
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ESPECIALLY THIS BABY GIRL!
LIKE OH MY GOD.
The upgrades, the fact that they put a freaking house over the whole thing. Just imagine how many row men you would need to build that thing. The wall put up on front with the little holes[hazama]! Just look at how cool that is! It really be an entire fortress floating!
Aaaand of course the first I hear of is from Oda Nobunagabuilding them but with iron in 1578....that's metal, hehe ( ˘ ͜ʖ ˘).
But overall the massive construction for these kinds of things, just to fall :"), damn it's like I'm watching the destruction if most castles in sengoku again.
Of course they were all just Atakebune.
Sekibune and the Gozabune (Kobaya) were also other kinds of ships out in the sengoku period. Respectively:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course they are much smaller than the atakebune because the atakebune was meant to be the largest, even had a turret over it (like the watchtower in which... moments happened ~) equipped with various equipment.
Though, due to their size it meant that these kinds of ships wouldn't be used as much [think they were more used to fight off the others in the Korean peninsula or missionaries, which is why the Koreans have their turtle ship and I have to say that man do I love that little ship, alongside admiral Yi who will appear, as someone else tho, for some crossover content in this fic, since I saw Korea and you know me gotta love those crossovers. So their main ships that where mostly used to fight in where the lighter and more comfortable Sekibune and Kobaya ships. There is also more information from a YouTube here, she talks so calmly about the 3 ships so if you wanna more info- there [sadly I had to put Google translations for this one :")]
As for some English vids, there are just Total war Shogun let's plays (":. Good game tho. It actually helped have an idea of what to make me write for these chapters. Alongside the battle of Miyajima which. For some reason. The only thing I could picture clearly. And it bugged me for most of the whole watch. Was.
What about an underwater kiss scene?
So I did that.
Freaking did that.
Time for some accidental cpr–kiss.
Shouldn't have listened to that cpr song. Now look at me. Trynna put a kiss scene there...
At least it went on in a natural matter.
Supposedly in the drafts it was just going to be a normal battle more focused on Sanemi and Giyuu development, seeing how they both act towards one another especially when they come from different ranks of society yet are going to marry the girls of the same household. So that way I can some Sanemi background explained after the battle. I'm still gonna do it tho, but once again, this was going to supposedly be a small small battle.
However this was Giyuu's debut to being a samurai so I was like NO.
And also had no internet so I rolled with another things which was the Miyajima Battle.
And oh boy I really expected to just be so few chapters not dragging 3 (4k) long chapters. Hopefully it can stop at two more because now we have Shinsaburo and Sanemi backgrounds to add on. Which.
Oh.
Boi.
That like opens up a whole new cast directly.
And because it's also the Giyuu~ Debout~ to a Samurai~
You get what this means no?
It will soon be time for the vows~~~~
Hehehehehhehehehe

"Ginchiyo was personally named by her father, with the name more or less meaning "one who would not listen idly to others". There are many speculations about Ginchiyo's personality, but it is said that she was a severe and rigid figure, a valiant woman, with remarkable communication skills, as strong and determined as any famous warrior of the time.
Ginchiyo succeeded her father and led the clan in a period of difficulty at only 6 years old. She inherited her father's interests such as the status of castellan, territory, belongings and the famous sword Raikiri (雷切, Lightning Cutter). She recruited women to become her elite guard and trained all the maidens of the castle in warfare skills to intimidate visitors and to protect it if other clans attacked her domain. Dōsetsu died fighting the Shimazu clan at Neko'o castle on November 2, 1585. His wishes were respected and Ginchiyo became the lord of the Tachibana clan. Five years after her rule, she married Tachibana Muneshige, who had been adopted into the family and continued Dōsetsu's family line after Ginchiyo."

What are the girls personas and arcanas?
Tumblr media
Mizuki's is Ginchiyo, of the Emperor arcana. Based on Ginchiyo Tachibana.
The others I don't know yet. Though Kuroko might be Death arcana and Miko might be High Priestess arcana. I'll let you know when I figure it out.

Ginchiyo the Kilowattrel
Tumblr media
I had mistakenly thought I remembered something about Ginchiyo Tachibana’s name having something to do with birds, so I thought the name worked all the better, but I couldn’t find anything confirming that, so no idea where that thought came from.  Either way, Ginchiyo is still pretty solidly associated with lightning in the Samurai Warriors games.  This is in reference to her father, whose sword she carries.  Dōsetsu Tachibana, according to legend, was strong enough to have cut down a monstrous lightning spirit by only using one of his personal swords, and was thus dubbed “Lightning God” by his peers.

Warriors Orochi: The Recollective Redux Part 2.2: Shu Side Stages
Some conditions in this have been made easier than in the original game, particularly with Musashi.
Chapter 2-X: Ambush at Nanzhong 南中突破戦 (uses DW5 Battle of Nanzhong map)
Coalition Army and Jiang Wei Army vs. Orochi Army Allied characters: Zhao Yun, Yoshihiro Shimazu, Toyohisa Shimazu, Ginchiyo Tachibana Third-party characters: Jiang Wei Enemy characters: Zhang He, Daqiao
Unlockable character: Jiang Wei
Clear Chapter 1 to unlock this stage.
Hearing that Zhao Yun has escaped Ueda Castle, Jiang Wei offers to join him. They meet at Nanzhong, where Jiang Wei tells Zhao Yun that the road ahead is blocked by the Orochi Army. Yoshihiro suggests luring them out and Jiang Wei decides to follow this plan. Jiang Wei retreats, leaving Zhao Yun and Yoshihiro to act as bait, luring the enemy units from the west and east.
Be careful not to attack the enemy, otherwise the ambush will fail and enemy pursuit units will arrive from Ueda Castle to reinforce the enemy. If the ambush succeeds, Jiang Wei will be unlocked. Defeat Zhang He and Daqiao to win the battle.
Chapter 3-X: Battle of Shizugatake 賤ヶ岳の戦い
Coalition Army and Hōjō Army vs. Orochi Army Allied characters: Yukimura Sanada, Nobuyuki Sanada, Wei Yan, Yueying Third-party characters: Ujimasa Hōjō, Ujinori Uesugi, Ujinao Hōjō, Norihide Matsuda, Ujiteru Hōjō Enemy characters: Pang De, Cao Ren, Jia Xu, Diamondback
Unlockable character: Pang De
Clear Chapter 3 to unlock this stage.
An uprising led by the Hōjō Army was being forcibly suppressed by the Orochi Army, led by Pang De. Seeing the struggle firsthand, Pang De was ashamed at his cowardice.
Nobuyuki Sanada replaces Teruzumi Akashi in this battle.
On the battlefield, the Hōjō Army will be in the east as enemy ambush troops attack them. Ujimasa and his troops are wavering on whether to stand their ground or surrender to Orochi.
To unlock Pang De, the player needs to rescue at least three Hōjō officers before defeating him.
Chapter 4-X: Escape from Chibi 赤壁逃亡戦
Coalition Army and Okuni Troop vs. Brigand Army Allied characters: Wei Yan, Xingcai Third-party characters: Okuni Enemy characters: Goemon Ishikawa, Kotarō Fūma, Musashi Miyamoto
Unlockable character: Goemon Ishikawa
Clear Chapter 3-X to unlock this stage.
Wei Yan’s treasure was stolen by the master thief Goemon Ishikawa. The treasure was a gift from Liu Bei and was valued by Wei Yan. Wei Yan enlists Xingcai’s help and they set off to the Huarong Pass near the cliffs of Chibi.
Shigekata Tōgō replaces Munenori Yagyū in this battle.
To unlock Goemon, destroy all ten treasure boxes before defeating him. Every time one is destroyed, Goemon will slow down. Goemon’s miscreants along with Kotarō Fūma will stop the player along the way. Okuni will also slow Goemon down as he reaches the ships in the south, forcing him to turn back and head to the ships in the southwest. Musashi will also help Goemon, but upon his defeat, Wei Yan tells him that Goemon stole his treasure, leading him to defect and help to stop Goemon.
Chapter 5-X: Battle of Jieting 街亭の戦い
Coalition Army and Gracia Troop vs. Orochi Army Allied characters: Magoichi Saika, Zhurong, Xingcai Third-party characters: Gracia Enemy characters: Masamune Date, Sun Shangxiang, Lianshi, Kojūrō Katakura, Hisahide Matsunaga, Munenori Yagyū
Unlockable character: Gracia
Clear Chapter 4 to unlock this stage.
Masamune Date set up his camp in Jieting, hoping to force the surrender of Zhao Yun. Zhao Yun sends out Magoichi to lead the battle, accompanied by Zhurong and Xingcai. When they got there, Magoichi sees Gracia and goes to her rescue; in return for finding her, Gracia decides to help Magoichi in this battle.
This is one of few stages where the unlockable character is different from the original. This was done to maintain Masamune’s status as a staunch officer of the Orochi Army (and to account for future appearances in other stories).
More enemy officers will appear around the battlefield, with the addition of playable officers Lianshi, Hisahide Matsunaga and Munenori Yagyū. Lianshi appears in place of Dong Xi, while Hisahide and Munenori are in the south and east respectively.
To unlock Gracia, finish the battle with the pincer attack successful. Otherwise, she will farewell Magoichi and continue wandering the land on her own.
Chapter 6-X: Battle of Tetorigawa 手取川の戦い
Coalition Army and Swordsman Troop vs. Orochi Army Allied characters: Meng Huo, Zhurong Third-party characters: Musashi Miyamoto Enemy characters: Mitsunari Ishida, Lu Bu, Zhang He, Ina, Lu Lingqi, Jia Xu, Kojirō Sasaki
Unlockable character: Musashi Miyamoto
Clear Chapter 6 to unlock this stage.
Meng Huo and Zhurong were sent to Tetorigawa to find Liu Bei, but they discovered a band of swordsmen fighting against Orochi’s forces. The swordsmen were led by the mighty warrior Musashi Miyamoto. Meng Huo and Zhurong rush to his aid.
Lu Lingqi appears in place of Yue Jin in this battle. Shigekata Tōgō replaces Munenori Yagyū in this battle. Jia Xu and Kojirō Sasaki will appear with the enemy reinforcements that Mitsunari sends out.
The unlock conditions for Musashi are easier than in the original game. Open the floodgate within 8 minutes of the start of the battle; his allies can be defeated but Musashi must stay alive.
Chapter 7-X: Battle of Xiliang 西涼の戦い
Coalition Army and Honda Army vs. Orochi Army Allied characters: Yukimura Sanada, Nobuyuki Sanada, Peasant (x3) Third-party characters: Tadakatsu Honda Enemy characters: Dong Zhuo, Lu Bu, Diamondback
Unlockable character: Tadakatsu Honda (1/4)
Clear Chapter 6-X to unlock this stage.
Across the land, people were fleeing from Orochi-controlled territories to escape his rule. Dong Zhuo declared that any caught fleeing would be executed. To demonstrate his point, Dong Zhuo launched an attack on Xiliang. Hearing news of this, Yukimura Sanada rushed to Xiliang to defend the innocent people from slaughter.
Nobuyuki appears alongside his brother in this battle.
This is one of four battles required to unlock Tadakatsu Honda. To impress him, allow all three peasants to escape. A good strategy is to follow them during their advance.
Chapter 8-X: Battle of Mikatagahara 三方ヶ原の戦い
Coalition Army and Zuo Ci Army vs. Orochi Army Allied characters: Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Guan Xing, Zhang Bao, Guan Suo, Xingcai, Bao Sanniang, Guan Yinping, Fa Zheng Third-party characters: Zuo Ci, Xiahou Dun Enemy characters: Orochi, Dong Zhuo, Lu Bu, Chen Gong, Diamondback
Unlockable character: Lu Bu (1/4)
In Chapter 7, escape Edo Castle with your allies within 3 minutes (originally 2) after the fire attack starts to unlock this stage.
After the battle of Edo Castle, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei turned upon Orochi to atone for their past sins. Following them were their children, accompanied by the strategist Fa Zheng. In response, Orochi sent Dong Zhuo and Lu Bu to put down this insurrection.
The only allied generic officer on the battlefield is Zhou Cang. With the exception of Fa Zheng, all other generic officers have been replaced with the Guan/Zhang babies and Bao Sanniang.
Orochi will appear in this battle if Chapter 8 has been cleared.
This is one of four battles required to unlock Lu Bu. To impress him, just defeat him without running away from him.

ooc. i'm not gonna lie, tsuruhime does NOT like nobunaga (of any version) despite never meeting him historically.
random facts though. she does canonically admire onna bugeisha like tomoe gozen & hangaku gozen. also perhaps, ii naotora & tachibana ginchiyo, if we're talking about figures within the same period as hers.

After the great Ransei War, it is believed that peace has returned to the region. However, as the 38 Warlords and Junior Warlords suddenly vanish without a trace, peace seems unlikely.
