there’s this rush and this pressure, sometimes, for huge, mind-blowing numbers on ao3. thousands of kudos and comments and ppl obsessing over ratios, but like - there’s something so incredibly wonderful about, idk, even ten kudos. ten? you mean ten people, TEN total strangers, found something I wrote and clicked on it and read it and liked it? ten comments: you mean ten people took the time to tell me what they thought about my work, took the time and energy to write about MY WORK in their little comment bubble? ten people?? fifty?? one hundred???
but even just one - if one single person took the time out of their day to tell me how much they appreciate the little bit of my soul I just put out into the world - idk, it just means everything, doesn’t it?

MatPat’s leaving ?????
Like I know some people don’t like him “Tumblrs going to be happy about this” blah blah blah
But. You do realize how big of an impact he’s had on theories/looking into lore. He’s one of the biggest reasons so many people look so deeply into different ransom elements. People have always done that, yes, but he gave so many people that first step into it, and gave a platform to some of the best parts of the internet.
The game theory collection of channels played one of the largest parts in me becoming so involved in caring about the stupid things I care about. It helped me grow as a critical thinker and allowed me a space to explore the silly things that no one else wanted to talk to me about.
I’m glad MatPats doing what he needs to, and I hope he has an amazing life. I thank him for his dedication to the channel, and thank him for changing my life.
So long, MatPat ❤️❤️❤️

I feel like Lucy Gray’s fashion sense had an influence on the Capitol. It’s mentioned in the book that she’s wearing makeup, which is notable to Coriolanus and he wonders where she got it from since it was barely becoming accessible again in the Capitol. In the movie one of his classmates mocks what she is wearing, asking if she thinks she’s a clown. It isn’t common to dress like her, but she owns her own style and the Capitol LOVES her. Coriolanus, as he tries to get sponsors for her, makes the case that since she is Covey perhaps she isn’t really district at all, in fact she’s really more Capitol than anything… and perhaps it rubbed off. Perhaps her sense of extra-ness, her fun makeup even at the reaping, her colorful dress at a dark occasion….perhaps that’s one part of her legacy that never truly goes away, even when the name of Lucy Gray Baird is erased from the memories of the people of Panem.
