The Three Generals
Whenever a Vani mission is detected to be in motion, the Holloan Omni are not far behind. They try their hardest to combat and control the situation, preventing the Vani from carrying out their deadly plans.
On Earth, three main Generals lead the fight against the Vani, though they currently seem to be laying low and not causing too much noise at all.
Cherubim
Tumblr media
Cherubim is the General in charge of Interspecies Public Relations. Or, in other words, she's the one who makes sure that their public image to the native life forms is positive yet minimal and non-disruptive. She is the most approachable and friendly of the three. Usually.

Icarus
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He is the Communications and Tech General. His duty is to oversee all technical and communications usage, as well as any tracking and surveying they do when it comes to the Vani. He's rather shy and nervous, and his anxiety leads to him mentally stuttering a lot. Due to this, he prefers to send analog and digital messages more than mental ones- of which Holloans typically do instead.
-
Seraphim
Tumblr media
The tallest and most intimidating of the generals is Seraphim, the Combat General and the leader of all Earth-sent Omni militia. Her duty is to oversee all of the soldiers and weaponry, as well as make sure any captured Vani stay captured.
-
Many more Holloan Omni follow their commands, and who knows how many are on or around Earth. And are they the only generals?

I mean, it's Godbrand; what didn't he say? I just want the specifics.

The Roman legions were probably the main reason the Roman Empire was so successful. These incredibly organized military units marched all over the ancient world and remained in key colonies of the empire long after the last battle was fought. Roman legions, however, developed over time and as they evolved they became finely tuned parts of the war machine.

APRIL FOOLS YOU IDIOTS I HAVE ACTUAL REAL ART TO SHARE
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Remember that announcement I made about turning the units from Command & Conquer Generals into ponies??
HERE’S FOUR OF EM
These are units from the USA faction! Which, in this alternate timeline, is known as the “EUS”, or “Equestrian United States”
Palisade is a Paladin Tank, a heavily armored tank featuring a projectile-destroying laser system
Forward Momentum is a Humvee, a lightly armored, fast-moving scout vehicle sporting room for five infantry and a top-mounted machine gun
Glitterbeam is an Avenger, a Humvee variant specializing in anti-air laser defense, with one forward-facing laser system and a turret sporting large twin laser cannons; no room for passengers
Stitch Kit is an Ambulance, able to clear away radiation and chemical spills, while at the same time having space for three infantry to safely heal on the move
I plan to show off more for the other factions! I want them to be together in sets of four at a time, so there’s a little more substance to the posts. With any luck the next set of four will be for the GLA, and afterwards the AU version of China (which I still need a new name for).

Where Have I Been?
Tumblr media
For the last few months I kind of over-committed myself with the dance studio.  I’d planned to take two classes (one with each of our amazing teachers), but ended up asked to join a third.  My costumes all turned out to have some nightmare or another (an expected risk when you’re just over 6 feet tall and you’re doing Chinese dance), and I am NOT a seamstress. Yesterday was our big show, and I am basking in the opportunity to back off to just one class for the summer.  I will get to dance with my daughter, who has been dancing roughly 6 years longer than me, and I’m very excited about that.
The other thing that has kept me from being able to really write is also related to that daughter.  She has mad ADHD and her school was not interested in helping her be successful (which is illegal). Between fighting the school, looking for a replacement school that would suit her, and looking for other options to help her develop coping strategies I’ve been pretty drained. We will be doing credit recovery (make up for failed classes) via homeschool this summer, so it won’t be months of freedom.  But we’ve done homeschool before and I’m optimistic.

As promised the second of two small contributions for FQMonth23. This time it is the finished FengQing idol aka “Idol of the Lovers”.
Once upon a time, there was a small village divided by two things: a wide river and the belief in the Generals of the South. Each side believed in one of them. Nevertheless, the two sides were in vigorous contact with each other for trade, protection, and infrastructure, even though faith separated them.
One day there was a big storm that caused a lot of damage in the village. Among them was the only large bridge that connected the two sides. Since this had to be rebuilt, both shores of the village started building at the same time, firmly believing that their general would take them faster and further to finishing the bridge than the other side. However, it turned out that the two halves of the bridge met exactly in the middle. It was measured over and over again, but the fact remained: It was precisely the middle and both parts of the bridge were the same length. So the townspeople began to wonder: Had they wronged the two Generals all this time? Were they in reality not enemies at all, but even striving to be connected with each other? Thus, the village on both sides began to worship both generals as an inseparable unit. The old statues and idols were left standing, but many new ones were added, representing both of them together. And as the belief evolved over the years that the two were a couple, so did the depictions become warmer, more intimate, and more loving. Today the village has become a thriving town. People from all over come to see the town "where the generals find peace", the "City of Lovers". And they also come here to ask the gods for their blessings in their relationships and to escape from the condemning world themselves.
This small idol here is quite simple, but one of the most common depictions on small altars that were additionally placed in the old shrines of the two.
