'It's a great idea,' Godric said, eyes closed. He was spread under an ancient oak, bare-limbed and languid, his brown mane glossy on the green carpet of the forest.

'Rowena says she's found the ideal location for it.' Salazar couldn't take his eyes off Godric. The dappled sun threw pleasing shapes across his young, warrior's body.

Godric raised his head enough to give him a sly look. 'You don't need me, though, do you? Rowena and Helga have got the academic side covered. And you, you are more scholar than I am. I am simply the sword by your side.'

Salazar didn't say what he wanted to. Nothing of what he'd felt, not a sliver of the intensity of feelings that threatened to swallow him when Godric slithered to his bedroll late at night, after some mead, or when he was lonely. He said instead, inadequately, 'You're more than that.'

Here's some fun facts about Henry in the Soldered Wires AU (in order of least to most unhinged):

1) Henry and William often spent their free nights at the local disco club. The duo worked listening to the entire discography of ABBA

2) Henry has had a curiousity with how technology works. As a result, if new technology enters the Emily household, there would be a high chance Henry would've disassembled it in an hour (Likely a sign of neurodivergency in his side of the family)

3) As a result, Henry is a savant in repuposing tech to fit his needs (for better or for worse)

4) There is a good reason why Bon's Burgers never made it past the Rocky Mountains.

5) There was one argument that has not been resolved between Henry and William:

BUT...what if I tell you about the Four Founders fandom where Jkr only has her the tip of her little pinky, giving us a LOT to work with. Where it's old magic, medieval fantasy with cottage core aesthetic, discovering Hogwarts, battles, royalty, found family, strangers to hostile friends to friends to lovers to enemies! and as usual pain...a lot of pain. Rambling Kirby #2

my interpretation of game dream team is basically them being close best friends but said they're not best friends and just calls the others close friends/acquintances or etc etc (exception of Kirby, he addressed them as best friends. No, none of them bothered to correct him) when they're actually like the closest friends that they see each other as family/close siblings

Like, they can have the best teamwork dynamic out of all teams in Star Allies. Without even saying anything, just a glance is enough to do a good teamwork attack. Meta Knight going for arial slam and Bandana poke their enemy with his spear and threw it towards Dedede, who'll slam them to Kirby which Kirby ends up be the one to decide on how to end their torture.

Them together is a force to be reckon with. They are the core star allies, they're the ones who formed the 'organisation'. They're the original group in Dreamland.

When one is down, the other fought their way tooth and nail to get to the fallen one and help them up. When one bled, the other bled too. When one rage, the other followed their rage.

They came from different backgrounds but their fates were intertwined from the very start. Even with their differences of view or actions that will shake the balance between peace and chaos, they continued to fight for their home and their loved ones.

And yet, they're the idiots when it comes to one another. Separately, they're very much an idol, a role model for those who admired them. But when they're together, that cool look just disappeared.

Whether it range from Meta Knight and Dedede constantly argued until they settled their arguements with a physical fight (one loses, the winner wins the arguement), or to them being the worst at the most simple mission(stealing is legal in dreamland but not on another planet...); it was bound to end up in chaos.

Bandana who asked the other three if they wanted a snack, which they all politely declined his offer to them being full or busy or on a diet. And yet when he opened that snack, all three pair of eyes just looked at him with their hands outstretched. Bandana was not happy.

Meta Knight and Kirby who have chaos flows in their blood, cannot be in the same room for too long or the room will be destroyed or the world will be destroyed. No 'and' or other possibilities. It's always those two.

So yes, while the four do end up be the light of hope for Popstar and the universe, they're also the ones who will end up make the situation worst due to their chaos nature. (Not really a permanent thing, they always will fix it in the end)

Durmstrang Headcanons: Rules of Admission and Muggleborns

(Those are not canon, but headcanons based on the idea/implication that Durmstrang is an exclusive private school, as well as the name being based on Sturm und Drang.)

Technically, the rules of admission for Durmstrang did not exclude muggleborns.

That is, there was no written down rule of "Student has to have one or two magical parents".

Instead, the rules simply worked in a way that made it almost impossible for anyone without existing connections in the magical world to comply.

Unlike Hogwarts and Beauxbatons, Durmstrang did not send out invitations. Instead, students had to apply many months in advance, which of course required knowing about Durmstrangs existence first.

With the deadline for applications at the end of January, many muggleborns wouldn't even find out they had magic before it had already passed.

Next, Durmstrang taught students from all across Europe, but most classes were held in German. So, the application also required proof that students could speak the language, easily justified as a means to make lessons go more smoothly.

Of course, if you were a witch or wizard with the means to send their child to Durmstrang, you would start those language lessons early and not run into any problems. And while that still left all the German, Austrian, etc muggleborns born between September and January in play, it still excluded most of the muggleborns outside of those countries.

Which is what the general education test was for. Again, officially it existed to make the selection fair and ensure a smooth integration into lessons. But as this test also included some hard questions about the magical world, it was often the excuse used to deny the few muggleborns that made it that far.

And then there was the price point. Durmstrang charged a pricey tuition for attendance, and didn't hand out scholarships. Again, it wouldn't keep out every muggleborn - but it would keep out "the poor", which was probably even more important for the rich elite that send their progeny here.

Lastly, Durmstrang restricted the number of students that could attend each year, which meant the school made a selection out of all applicants.

There was no official rule that excluded muggleborns. But as long as Karkaroff was headmaster, that selection simply never included them.

Day 4 - September 21: Fairytale retelling | Whump Wheel

The direct sequel to Mulan, the story I wrote as part of Founders Fairy Tales, this story is for @kurakura0-0 and @dominaaurum, both of whom encouraged me to write it and helped me to plot it.

I'm sorry that you had to wait so long for it!

Kagami chews on his lip as he laboriously wields his brush.

It's a little bit big for him, father said so, but he'd begged and begged until he'd gotten one from father's own desk. He's determined to be worthy of it and so he bends his head over the paper, copying out his own name for the eighth time this morning.

It's not easy to be the son of an imperial scholar, a man everyone says is learned and wise.

Father sits in judgement over their village, makes notes of the taxes, tells people what to do, and is always sending letters off to the capital. Uncle Itama says that his father even met the emperor once.

That's so amazing!

Kagami can't imagine what that would have been like!

But maybe, one day, if he is good, he will also become an imperial scholar and meet the emperor.

Thinking abt my salmonid ocs again... I need to design them soooo bad but at the same time I have yet to decide what to do with their clothes as while the traditional battle salmon pant would suffice my need to do needless extra work for the sake of worldbuilding is powerful indeed

#rat rambles #oc posting #splat posting #to be clear the main reason that this is a thing Im considering carefully is because these are historical salmonids #they would have lived about 200 years ago give or take a few decades #so comparably modern history but still old enough that cultral differences should be considered #mainly these guys are mostly salmonids from more wealthy tribes and only two of them regularly engage in combat #the other two are a part of off branches of the main tribe that handle trade and nature preservation respecively #the nature reservation being especially important as they have a recently discovered king salmonid which is already a big deal but said #king is also a goldie so its like a once a thousand year sort of event #now of course this newly found king is set to be cared for and as such will likely not drop for several decades at least #but given the importantce of this event making sure that the deep sea ecosystem is ready for it is vital #now one issue is that usually kings are allowed to continue their work until their health declines too much but usually kings are assumed #to be on the battlefield since statistically thats just the most likely job for them to have #but this goldie king is a part of the trading sect of his tribe so he is quite ill equipped to be on the front lines and survive #so theres been some conflicts within the different sects about how this potential issue should be addressed #and thats where the main cast comes in as the main four characters all try to work together to find a solution to appease all three sects #and by that I mean they fail miserably as this is the origin story of eternity's old tribe and its founder is one of the four mains lol #hey on the bright side only one of them die within the main plot but the downside is that she was indeed murdered by her insel ex gf #oh og eternity how terrible you are but tbf she was heavily manipulated into most of her actions and beliefs
