Yk in horse with no name when they said the heat was hot. They were right

read a fic recently where the author was talking about lethal injection as a particularly humane death penalty and i totally get where people get that conception (it is very much on purpose) but it took just about everything I had not to go into the comments and info dump about how, actually, lethal injection is just designed to *seem* humane but in reality, there is no humane method of murder

#a big part of why is that actual doctors refuse to be involved because if the whole 'do no harm' thing #so there is no actual medical expertise and botched executions are super common #the people who are executed are given a paralytic so they cant move but those who have survived the botched ones?#they say that it feelslike being on fire #and can last up to 2 hours maybe more #so like. its just designed to make us looking at it from the outside in feel better about it #not to actually help them die 'humanely'#anyway #bug posts #not dp
