ANON ILUSM FOR ASKING this is such a wonderfully sweet prompt i just had to take it the extra mile and it got away from me once again :’)) so this is waaaay too long for a ficlet LOL but i hope you enjoy it anyway!

quick summary: Emil and Lalli meet up in a a dream. The night sky is too beautiful to ignore.

Lalli knew the colours spilling around him as well as he knew himself. He blinked once, twice, watched the familiar forest and lake take shape, molding slowly into a place he called his own. Then came the gentle noise of water, the rustling of branches and chirping of birds, and he could smell the pine surrounding him. He could sit here in silence, look into the water, wait for a sign and hopefully receive none. And so the mage sat up, arms resting on his knees and head hung low, listening to the sounds of forest, waiting for-

Someone else was here. Not a spirit, he could feel that much, a someone.

He stood up quickly, hoping to all the gods that it was neither braid guy nor Onni- he wanted nothing more than to be alone tonight- which only left the category of ‘things that want to kill him’ open. One hand reaching for his dagger, the other pushing his fur coat away, he spun around, looking for the source of the disturbance.

Emil was standing on the shore, glowing in the speckles of light passing through the branches, confused but smiling, and the moment he saw him, the ground opened up under them.

Once the dust had settled, he found himself on a grassy cliff with a steep slope, overlooking nothing but darkness, one of thousands around the world, yet somehow still familiar. Emil was a few feet away from him, looking around frantically. It dawned on Lalli that it was probably that hill they climbed in Reykjavik, that long day in the pouring rain, but he couldn’t think clearly enough to wonder why they ended up there, why it seemed to have been split in half, why it was the dead of night. The shock still hadn’t quite worn off. Emil had never appeared in his dream before, not like this, not in his dream. They’d always end up in a place like this, in-between together. Never in his space.

When he turned to Emil again, just to make sure they were both still in one piece, his friend was looking up for some reason.

“Your dream has a sky?” he said, and it sounded less like a question aimed at Lalli and more like thinking out loud, as if he were trying to get to the bottom of a problem.

“Of course. Everything has a sky.”

“I guess I just never thought about it before,” Emil said, still craning his neck, still in that distracted tone, his eyes wide in a strange sort of wonder. Lalli didn’t get it, really. He could see the real light-speckled veil covering the Earth any time he wished, and there was nothing special about the one appearing in dreams. The stars, glittering gold forged by the sky-smith, were now a mere image in their minds, dream-approximation, not worth dwelling on this much.

Lalli looked into the distance instead, trying to make out the shapes- houses but no lights on, a village, indiscernible layout, shifting in the darkness. He couldn’t tell if it was the Icelandic village, or his own hometown, or something else entirely, perhaps a fragment of Emil’s memory. It was like the houses were in the bottom of a murky lake, roofs submerged, waves distorting everything, and by the time it reached his eyes they were unrecognisable. He didn’t dare to peer over the edge of the cliff, didn’t want to look straight down at whatever may be there. The wind whipped around him, against his face, and for a moment he felt completely alone.

A rustle coming from behind startled him out of his thoughts- Emil, sitting down on the grass, still looking up with that smile on his lips. He said something about knowing ‘a thing or two’ about the stars, pointed upwards at nothing in particular, and Lalli decided to join him. It seemed that there was nothing to look at beyond the dark plunge beneath the cliff, which he’d already scrutinised, and the stars in the sky. He sat next to Emil. He waited.

“See that one? That’s the big dog. Those three stars are the head, and then these are the tail,” Emil gestured, eyes fixed on the night sky.

Iso koira. The easiest to spot, with the brightest star at its head. Emil’s struggle to point it out was a little pathetic and a little adorable, depending on whether Lalli was looking at his fumbling outstretched hand missing the mark or his excited expression, squinting to see better. And then he turned to look at him and that excitement was gone, replaced by a frown.

“You can’t tell where I’m pointing at from there,” he said, fake-upset, “look here.”

Emil’s face was suddenly right next to his, an arm around his shoulder and the other still pointing at the sky, and Lalli froze. Perhaps it was the unexpected touch, the closeness, but something about it made him jump. To his credit, Emil noticed, letting go and moving away, an apology already on his lips. But before he could get to it Lalli inched closer, at his own pace, wanting to say that it’s okay, just let me, hoping his expression would do the trick instead. He just needed to ease into it, and soon enough they were close once again, so Lalli looked up, pointedly avoiding Emil’s gaze, in order to urge him to do the same. Back to the stars.

“And the little dog- huh, shouldn’t it be somewhere around…”

Pieni koira, just a little off to the side, trailing behind Orion. Kaksoset, Härkä, Yksisarvinen. The stars were his constant companions, by his side every night when no one else was. Köli, Ajomies, Virta. His gaze swept across the sky. He knew them by heart.

Not that he’d say a word of it to Emil. It was much more amusing waiting for the realisation, that moment he stops talking and lets the cogs in his head turn: hey, what if that silly Finn who spends all night outside, where the stars are, maybe knows a couple things more about them…

But this was fine too. He didn’t have to think as long as he kept talking. Emil’s hair looked grey in the moonlight but with that same shine, messy from the wind, and Lalli couldn’t help but reach up and tuck a lock behind his ear, just so that it doesn’t bother him. No other reason. Emil turned to look at him for a moment, not enough to read his expression, and then quickly looked away.

“Orion is also, ah, somewhere,” his hand was now flitting between several constellations, none of them the one he was looking for. “This sky is weird. Did you ever notice that? That the dream sky is weird. But you probably already know, because you’re… you know. And I’m so new at this. Not at dreaming! Just, this whole...”

He decided to let Emil ramble nervously until he tired himself out, ending his rant with a frustrated little groan. It was strange that he couldn’t quite focus on the sound of his voice, how he could feel that lilt all Swedes had to their words but still understand him- another peculiarity of dreams he never really noticed until he and Emil became connected like this. Then they were quiet for a couple of heartbeats, taking in the view.

The corner of Lalli’s lips twitched into a smile, as close to softness as he could get. Emil was too busy staring up at the sky to notice. Lalli was too busy looking at him to care.

But something changed moments after. He could feel it in the air, creeping in slowly. Emil’s expression turned melancholy, resigned, and when he finally spoke, he echoed a statement he made a long time ago. This time, he said it with a smile, almost sad, mostly distracted, like he didn’t know the words would come out until he said them: “Makes me not want to wake up tomorrow.”

In the resulting silence, Lalli could hear something from the depths, from the village, and when he looked down, he saw a sliver of orange in the distance, like the stroke of a brush, a splatter. Fire. Emil’s fire. An uncomfortable feeling settled in his gut, a pain for someone else, something tugging at his heart.

“Why? You’re safe now. You have food and shelter,” he said instead, trying to keep him occupied. Steadying his voice took more effort than he expected, but he didn’t want Emil to notice anything was amiss. It was Lalli’s fault that his dreams were no longer silly meaningless thought-leftovers that played during the night. It was Lalli’s fault he was here in the first place.

“But I’m not… like this. With you,” Emil sounded distant, and he was looking away now, not at the stars and not towards Lalli, but at the ground next to him. Like he was trying to hide his face, but didn’t want to go too far, move too much. Like he was counting the blades of grass beneath them.

Lalli knew that he probably wasn’t talking about… whatever it was that they were. He was surely talking about the feeling of safety, the freedom of dreaming- the fact that they were in it together was simply a byproduct of an accident, his own mistake, surely not something Emil looked forward to, surely-

Lalli bit his tongue. He had to force himself to say it while he still could, before the connection that kept them here crumbled again. Before he had to deal with pouring his feelings into words, then forcing those words into the confines of a language he barely spoke. The wind whistled around them and he knew this was his last chance. He put his hand on top of Emil’s, caressed it with his thumb, not quite knowing what he was doing.

“You could be, if you want to.”

And then the world was plunged into darkness and he could feel reality looming in the edges of his consciousness. He’d deal with the consequences when he woke up.

Hello! First of all, love your blog and your art! Second, I've tried to get into The Untamed (have been interested in it for a looong time and a friend wants me to get into it) but I don't know what to consume first: the drama or the book (tried the webcomic but wow I did not understand a thing). Just wanted to ask for guidance, oh great one ! Thank you ❤

The webcomic leaves out kind of a lot from what I remember. But it is very nice to look at. I would say consume that one last.

If you prefer reading over viewing I would say read the novels But there are 125?? 126??(Roughly 115 of the main story and a bunch of extras) Chapters of the novel None of them are extremely long.

If you prefer viewing over reading then you can watch either the donghua (anime) or the live action which is on netflix. The donghua is closer to the novel story than the live action. The live action takes some liberties with the story here and there and obviously omits things like kissing and actual confessions etc. Everyone on the set and crew knew they were making BL tho so all you’re really missing is that. They’re both 1000000% in love.

I tried reading the novel first. Couldn’t get into it. Read the manhua (webcomic) and like you was a little confused but it did give me a good idea of the story. But I think the easiest to get into might be CQL (the drama).

Again it’ll be personal preference but I find having it on netflix allows for binge watching which is a lot harder on youtube for me or at the time I think it might have been on Viki (I mean I was watching the donghua at the time) or some piratey site that I’d still have to actually navigate to the next episode.

I also kinda have pretty bad information retention (lol adhd) so I watched the live action twice. Read the novels, a little slow paced at first but then once I got hooked I couldn’t do anything else but read the novel lol. And went back to the drama to see all the stuff that I either forgot or didn’t make sense at first.

I’m going back to the webcomic now because I think the art is really pretty.

If you happen to understand Chinese there are also audio dramas but ....I’m not quite there yet lol. Though some people have made cute animations on youtube (and I assume weibo??) to it which is also fun

Hi Ellie! I really don’t want to bother you with these things while you’re on your vacation, but you really seem to have a nice understanding of it and I kind of wanted to read what you think. I’ve read so many things about how creating art can be great for mental health. I’m at a point in my depression in which I can tell I need something like that to pour my thoughts into like painting or writing and the idea excites me, but I don’t have the mental energy to do it. How do you handle this?

Hey dear anon ! Those types of questions never bother me don't worry, even tho I might sometimes take a little time answering but I'm having a bit of a solitary time out today so here goes.

I think this is a very important question ; I don't have a clear cut answer though, this is also something I often struggle with. But here are a few considerations :

- First of all, are you blocking yourself with stuff like perfectionism, super high expectations of yourself/what 'art' should be ? Because that can be a huge drain. I think it's important to offset that by taking a 'playground' approach. Or whatever works. And think that whatever you manage to do, it's always better than the blank page. It's training, and it's a healing process. Don't be afraid to try stuff, stop if you're not into it anymore, and see it all as a beautiful process...and to try to have fun, even if it feels silly at first.

- Another thing : mental illness can often create this void in your brain and life, where you close yourself off and creating only from your inner miasma can be so painful. So I think it's important to know what feeds and recharges you creatively ; what spurs your need to create in an easy, fun way. These are going to be times where you're not actively creating and yet, you're still working on it. For me it's stuff like walking in the woods, finding myself in foreign places, modern art exhibitions, reading fun and fast fantasy YA and social science articles, and simply good music...but I think everyone has their own. Stuff that makes you excited to create, and curious about the world.

- So yeah, also don't be afraid to be a little derivative. Find your role models and copy them a little (not directly and for profit of course lol) - write fanfic or meta, try to imitate a certain style...I find this is a good way to let go of your fears and ego and let yourself be guided by the genius of others. It can be very freeing and fun. And maybe you understand more why they did this or that in that way. And learn a lot about yr own voice.

- Just do the fun parts. Know what they are for you and when you are feeling down, skip to them. I write fanfic abt lawyers without researching much about the legal system lol bc it annoys me. I sketch too without really bothering about clean up. You can be picky or harsh w yourself another day. I didn't come up w this but I think it's also important to let yrself create shitty things and see it as part of the process. And on days where you are really not feeling it consider the easiest possible ways of doing stuff like doodling on a page, making collages, or speaking into yr dictaphone app. It's important to take breaks also of course.

- Another key thing is to start considering creating as part of your mental health routine and self-care. For me I know keeping a diary is essential, otherwise I go all antsy. I've been trying out to write more letters to vent about my emotions and tearing them up too. I know drawing works wonders for a lot of people. You can say this may not be art but actually I really practiced my (self) observation skills, ability to describe emotions, I found interesting metaphors and ideas...but also I think to create you need a sort of...flow of emotions, and familiarity with them. Even the ugly parts. I think creating requires a sort of radical (self) acceptance, so you can truly see yrself and others without wanting to set everything on fire.

- I find it really helps to find other people who are into creating the same type of stuff as you and are creative in general and make them into "accomplices" - I have a friend who is super into making zines so I've been working on one of my own, I found sb to write fic with, a really good beta, someone who loves to go to museums as much as me....that gives me extra energy when I'm lacking.

- Become more observant of real life around you. Watch ppl, listen how they talk. Observe how light falls. The patterns of nature. Try to notice new smells, new sounds, new tastes, little details (this is also a good exercise to deal w anxiety/dissociation tbh). Think about what they imply. Become a sort of poetic detective. Try to find new metaphors. Practice mindful openness, but also sharpen your skills, and decide what place to give what you perceive.

- Also I'm finding the "try to do sth for 10 min" thing is really useful. Sometimes I think I'm tired as in "I don't have the energy" but really I'm tired in a "I have an emotional block and I'm letting it sit on me" way. So having this idea of just starting sth for 10 min, often I find it liberates me and then I want to keep going. And if I really don't feel it I stop but having tried does give me a good feeling.

- Finally I think it's just...fall in love w yr own creative process. Your characters, the story you love, the things you want to depict, the irrepressible need that drives you...your own "symbolic culture". To get a bit woowoo for a minute I really believe that we all have this sort of...unconscious cauldron of creative stuff in our deepest selves, made of memories and experiences and core questions and sensory memory-triggers and fears and hopes and thought patterns and stories. It's always shifting but the more we engage w it and feed it the more rich it becomes. You can do stuff like write down your dreams, think about what your favorite characters have in common, try to do creative meditation, freewrite/doodle, go on "creative dates" w yrself ala Julia Cameron...and whenever it responds I think you'll know. It always gives me this feeling of...groundedness, satisfaction, but also openness to mystery and a powerful urge to create.

Dating Tamaki Headcanons

I’m going to try to start actively writing again! Hopefully I get a few requests instead of writing my terrible ideas lol. Hope you enjoy!

- Oh boy, dating Tamaki Suoh is a joyride.

- He’s a big cuddler.

- Even if it’s the hottest day of the year, he’ll still find a way to embrace you

-Even when you’re mad at him

- Of course, you always end up giving into his puppy dog eyes; they work every time

- He’s either the easiest or the most difficult person ever to wake up.

- Though he isn’t NEARLY as scary as Kyoya or Honey, his dramatic antics make it pretty difficult to get him up sometimes

- Even though he would never admit it, he likes being the little spoon

- He definitely loves to cook with you, no matter how messy it may get

- Your favorite meals are his favorite meals

- If you cook something for him, he’ll make sure to eat it, no matter what

- Even if it tastes like hot garbage

- If you’re having a bad day, he always plays the piano for you.

- Before, he’s even gone as far as to try to teach you how to play.

- You two probably play together often.

- He is super. Freaking. Protective. Over. You.

- If somebody hurts you and Tamaki finds them (which he undoubtedly would), it would be the worst (and possibly last) day of their life.

- Literally everything you do is the best thing ever in his eyes

- No matter how many times he boasts about his looks, he’ll always boast about yours more

- “Did you see them though?? Did you see _____?? They’re like.... the most adorable and attractive person ever!!”

- When he does this it embarasses the hell out of you, but you love him for it

- Seriously. This dude’s daddy game is strong.

- Tamaki could totally be a switch tho and you cannot change my mind

- He’s probably really into roleplay

- He’s literally down for anything

- You wanna try something kinda risky? FUCK YEAH

- Always makes sure you’re alright and asks permission for e v e r y t h i n g

- Literally spends more time making sure he has consent than anything

- Aftercare is the best thing since sliced bread

- He loves kids, but he always makes sure to stay wrapped up

- When you two fight, it’s usually over something really stupid

- Like who get the last piece of cake

- Or who has to wash the dishes

- He gets jealous extremely easily, so there’s that too

- But when you two have a big fight

- Everyone is affected

- You’ll both stop talking to each other until one of you decies to stop being petty

- Therefore, Tamaki probably acts a little bit colder towards the guests, surprising everyone else

- When you two make up, neither of you stop apologizing

- And guess what

- You both get extra cuddles that night

who hogs the duvet

luke, bc he’s just a cold human being. lol not like in his heart or soul, but his body runs colder than most, so he’s chilled like all the time

if he’s not acting like an octopus, he’s hogging the duvet. tori doesn’t mind a whole bunch, since she runs warm (thanks apollo), but sometimes, on really cold nights (heating is so expensive and if they can keep it off, they will), it’s v annoying so she’ll forcefully pull the duvet back, which forces luke to turn into an octopus

who texts/rings to check how their day is going

i’d say tori is. she worries a lot abt luke, esp bc he can kinda hole up inside his mind when he’s having a tough time

those little text alert noises and rings are actually quite comforting for luke. he appreciate them a lot, which he’d never say out loud, but he doesn’t need to since they can read each other pretty well

who’s the most creative when it comes to gifts

you might be surprised, but luke actually is. it comes from his creativity for pranks

who gets up first in the morning

tori does! thanks apollo, but only during the summer lmao

it’s super bad in the summer too, bc the days are longer and it gets light around 4 or 5 in the morning lol

but tori generally gets up with the sun (thanks apollo), so during the winter she gets up later than in the summer and luke is generally up before her

who suggests new things in bed

i mean, honestly both of them do!

tori does more often, but luke will if it’s been a long day, and an even longer night bc either/or both of them can’t sleep bc of nightmares or what have you

wait, i’m just realizing this might be a sexual question??? lmao, i read it like one of those philosophical talks you have with your best friend at sleepovers at 3am (same energy anyway)

well, if it is a sexual question (i’m honestly not sure, my ace brain is seriously just That ace), i would say neither of them, honestly

like they’ve been through so much in their lives. role-play doesn’t do it for them. tori hates being held down/restrained, and they’ve both incurred enough injuries from monsters for a lifetime so bdsm is also out

they’re also both tops, so that complicates things sometimes, but “““““vanilla””””” sex is fine for them

who cries at movies

lol tori does. no question.

who gives unprompted massages

luke, for sure. and tori loves it

but tori will sometimes do so if she sees luke’s stressed and tense

who fusses over the other when they’re sick

totes luke, he turns in to like a mother hen (but don’t tell him i told you that) and worries over tori whenever she gets sick

obvi tori takes care of luke when he’s sick, but luke’s the one to really go those extra 500 miles

who gets jealous easiest

lmao, can’t choose on that one bc both of them get supremely jealous

it doesn’t help that luke is bi and tori is biromantic, so anyone is technically fair game and they’re both very good-looking ppl

who has the most embarrassing taste in music

tori! she’s a hopeless romantic, and so like all those cheesy, gooey love songs and will listen to them all day every day

and i mean i wouldn’t strictly classify that as “embarrassing” per se, but that’s the best answer i have for ya

who collects something unusual

hmmm, luke.

you could argue most things are “unusual” to collect, but luke collects journals filled with entries. like he fell out of it after thalia, and then that whole thing happened with kronos lol, but after that (this is the everybody lives!au if you couldn’t tell) he picks it back up again

so he just has stacks of journals, all filled, many from tori–its therapeutic and he finds it’s something he actually quite enjoys. in the quiet of his shared bedroom with tori, of course

who takes the longest to get ready

not really either of them. i mean, i guess tori just bc if she wants to do something with her hair, it takes longer

but tori doesn’t wear a lot of makeup to begin with, and just as well she doesn’t have to try That hard to look nice (thanks apollo)

luke is already good-looking, and even tho he doesn’t have any divine blessing, he doesn’t have to do a lot to look good either

who is the most tidy and organised

luke, he hates clutter

he can’t think, and it only reminds him of the crowded hermes cabin

who gets most excited about the holidays

tori, bc she’s making up for all she missed out in childhood

luke indulges her bc he’s secretly making up for all he missed out in childhood, but he often doesn’t like expressing he’s excited for the holidays, except for quietly when he’s in the privacy of his and tori’s apt. he doesn’t mind showing tori how much he’s enjoying himself

who is the big spoon/little spoon

they switch constantly

tori loves being the little spoon, but so does luke. even if tori is kinda tiny lol

when it’s cold at night and luke is hogging the blankets but tori is still warm enough, but her nose gets cold, she’ll roll over and press her nose into luke’s back to share what little warmth he can give her. he’ll often reach back for her arm and she’ll put it around him, lacing her fingers with his, letting her hand rest against his chest, where his heart is

more often then not tho, tori is the little spoon bc luke has turned into an octopus seeking warmth at night

who gets most competitive when playing games and/or sports

like the jealousy thing, they both do

you don’t want them on opposite sides

likewise, you don’t want them together, bc they’ll pulverize you

so it’s really lose-lose either way

who starts the most arguments

oh man, i mean i guess both of them

they’re both worried abt each other’s safety, so that’s mostly what they argue abt

tori probably starts them a little more often, if only bc luke often jumps in front of her when they’re in danger just out instinct and before tori can jump in front of him, which annoys her

not just bc she can take care of herself, but also bc luke does so with reckless abandon and she doesn’t like that he could potentially be wounded/hurt/killed bc he was protecting her

who suggests that they buy a pet

tori, but only bc they were passing a pet shop one day and she noticed luke’s eyes lingering on one of the kittens inside that had taken a liking to luke

it was december, so v cold. and they were on their way back to their apt when they passed a pet shop

and as they’re passing, one of the kittens leaps up and paws at the window, following the couple as they continue pass

this catches luke’s attention, and he finds the little kitten’s persistence endearing as they walk past

the kitten’s also meowing, but obvi they can’t hear it. luke can see it tho bc its little mouth keeps moving

even tho luke insists it’s okay if they don’t get the kitten, tori drags him inside anyway and they go to the pen, and the little kitten is waiting for them on the other side

it’s a calico and it’s not until they’re inside that they notice this little kitten’s eye is injured on its right side (bc of glare from the window outside)

luke is only able to stare, too in shock to really move or think, but tori picks up the mewling ball of fluff and coos at it. then she holds it out for luke to take. and he’s hesitant at first, bc its so small and fragile, but tori gently coaxes it into his arms. and he rests it on his shoulder and it falls asleep, the precious bby

luke panics at that, though, bc he doesn’t know what to do lol. tori is not help, she just laughs and smiles at him

one of the workers goes over to them then and says that injured animals are always tough to sell, so tori, of course, immediately says they’ll buy this kitten

anyway, her official name is jiji, but her nickname is kitty bc that’s what luke referred to her as when they first brought her home and it kinda stuck.

what couple traditions they have

idk if this qualifies as a “tradition” per se, but, since we’re in the everyone lives!au, this is also the au where luke surprises tori with a song for her b-day one yr

and so after that their “i love you” turns into, “did i mention?”

after long days/after a monster attack while they’re out trying to be normal, and after they’ve cleaned up and are relaxing in bed, they’ll softly sing duets together (since luke can sing now lol; also from linked post). but tori’s still trying to get luke to sing a duet with her in public, to no avail so far

i’ve mentioned before that they like to shower together (again it’s not ever sexual), it’s more meditative and still v much intimate

valentines day is a BIG thing. and it feels so cliche for me to say, but tori LOVES that holiday and luke would do anything for that woman. so he’ll do as much cheesy, romantic stuff as he can and that he’s gleaned from movies (and like actually romantic stuff, not the White™ version of romance where the man stalks/forces the woman’s hand)

i mean most of the big holidays–valentines, halloween, christmas and new yrs are p big things in the williams-castellan household

most of the time, they spend it alone together (lol if that makes sense) like the week or day before, they’ll go out with friends and what family they have left lmao i made myself sad ;_; but on the day of, they’ll spend it together in the comfort of their apt bc going out is too overwhelming for both of them

every sunday, they’ll bake together and every monday, they’ll make a meal together. it helps them enjoy the end of their weekend and the beginning of a new work-week more, being able to spend that time together and looking forward to it at the end of those dreaded mondays

adult cartoons like bob’s burgers, rick & morty, and futurama

episodic comedies like parks & rec, the office, b99, and scrubs

they’ll sometimes chance it with crime procedurals and the like, but if the show gets too heavy, they’ll stop and not really go back bc they’ve dealt with enough

same goes for sci-fi/fantasy shows (tho they chance these even less bc they deal with enough mythology shit just being demigods)

what other couple they hang out with

they’ll sometimes hang out with like percy and annabeth (and maybe the other couples from the seven JASON IS STILL ALIVE I SAID EVERYONE LIVES!AU + nico and will, etc.), but it’s more in a mentor kind of way, since luke and tori are so much older than all of them. they’re good to go to for advice abt relationships, and also life in general

i like to think they are able to make friends with couples their age through places like the waystation that are hidden throughout the mortal world, but they’re wary abt new ppl bc they’ve had so many bad experiences, just in general (not necessarily with ppl)

so if you do manage to become a friend and they ask you to go on a double date with them with your partner, it’s ride or die for them (and it better be mutual)

quiet nights in, mundane date nights out–anything a normal couple would do bc they’ve been through enough already, they don’t need more excitement/trauma

that, of course, doesn’t stop monsters from attacking them when they go out. but after a battle, they’ll go home, clean up, and cuddle on the bed with lofi music playing in the background and scented candles lit around the room

Heyo, fantasy friend here! Oh roller skating at the park sounds like a lot of fun, how did it go?

Yeah... a pretty big chunk of the groups I'm into are getting to an age where the members have to start enlisting 😔 I've temporarily lost three biases to the military already and the time is coming when another (Youngbin) is going to have to go as well :( this is what I get for biasing mostly older members... At least enlisting earlier means they'll be back earlier though 😭 small comforts

It is super neat to figure out how things tie together! I love seeing the connections between things that seemed entirely different before and how they affect each other, it's really exciting 😄 ooh what kind of project is it? I imagine you use programming quite a lot especially with the AI stuff so good luck on that 💕 I'm cheering you on!

Ah I see you have a mindset kind of like mine 😂 I love learning so much and I would study everything if I could, it's too bad there's not enough time to learn about everything (not to mention the amount that would cost in tuition!) I think that's the one thing that would tempt me to seek immortality... imagine having unlimited time to discover more about the world and how it works, and people and how they work, and to explore places and ideas and skills... man it would be so cool!!

Omg that picture is so pretty!! It sounds like it was really awesome 😄 now I'm remembering the time I went camping in a redwood forest with my family and we hiked up to a waterfall, I had a lot of fun on that trip and the forest was beautiful 😌

There are a few tricks I use to stay cool but I think the easiest one is to take a cold shower and then not dry your hair afterwards (obviously dry it enough that it doesn't drip everywhere, but like... as little as possible), the water will cool you off and then since your hair is wet it won't act as insulation to keep your head warm, and as it evaporates that will also keep you cool! Another one is to use ice packs, those can help a lot.

Tbh I think the fires are a lot more dangerous than the earthquakes at least in my experience, I've never been in an earthquake big enough to cause any damage but there have been some really serious fires in my area that affected a lot of people including ones I knew so that feels like a more immediate danger to me - idk though, every place has its risks and benefits and I'm willing to put up with it haha

Hm I think I'm most excited for the music but also the MV, it seems like it's going to be really cool! I'm obsessed with aesthetics so I can't wait to see the whole thing 👀 and I bet the gifs and edits everyone's going to make will be amazing as well!! If there are any particularly awesome shots in the music video I might even draw something based on it, I haven't really drawn in ages but maybe this will be the thing that gets me out of my rut 😌 I'll almost definitely be making edits and/or moodboards though so I'm excited to do that as well!

it went okay! i was scared i was gonna get caught in the rain bc the sky was kinda gray on my walk over there but it didn't, and the weather was pretty nice overall! i'm still learning so i was pretty much just going around in circles the whole time 😂 but it was fun ^^

exactly!! i think thats what i like about math like so many things are connected, and it branches out into other disciplines like art and science it can be really cool to see the endless possibilities & connections 🤩

the project is about truecasing, which is basically (to my understanding) getting the program to return the proper casing (uppercase, lowercase, etc.) of a given word based on context and probabilities. it's helpful to use on text that might have misspellings or things that are typed all uppercase or lowercase (like texts/messaging). it seems pretty interesting! tho i did almost fall asleep when I was doing the reading last night, but i'll blame that on the fact that i was tired out from skating 😂😅 and yeah there's a lot of programming and i told myself I should do a lot of practice over the summer at the end if the semester and yet..ive barely done anything. which is why I was excited when my professor mentioned this project bc I really need to get back into things. thank you for cheering me on!! im rooting for you as well 😚❤❤

there's soooo much out there i really wish there was more time to study all the things we want freely (and without the pressure of doing it for a grade) and ugh yeah tuition costs...imagine how many more people would have degrees and just more knowledgeable about anything if higher education didn't cost so much. i feel like it really comes down to money 😭😭 like people don't get the highest education they want bc it costs so much, even if you want to study on the side you might not have time bc you have to work and earn money like.. we are not living in a society that properly promotes self-enrichment im so sad</33

The white sands of Boracay (Part 1)

Hey there, I’m here again trying to continue on sharing memories. The year is about to end, and I’m trying to squeeze in as much as I can to post all the backlogs that I have in my drafts folder. So here’s another very late blog post from my last vacation from the Philippines.

I’ve been traveling quite often than what I’m supposed to be (thank God) but I haven’t got to see the best travel spots in the Philippines yet. So, now that I got a 3-week vacation I made sure to visit one of the best beaches in the world, which is Boracay.

I love planning our trips and itineraries or just being spontaneous to avoid spending extra for travel agencies so I went ahead and made a DIY family trip to Boracay.

This one was very special because I got to be with my family. We’re not complete (as usual because of my brother’s hectic schedule) but still, I’m so happy that I was able to spend time with my loved ones and that I was able to bring them to Boracay and have a great vacation.

I bought our tickets from Air Asia and I was so happy that I did. They were so accommodating. I was so stupid that I keyed in my boyfriend's last name the same as mine. I just saw it a few days before our flight. Supposed to be you will be charged for any changes with the name or flight details but they were so helpful. I didn't pay for anything at all and for that, I am forever grateful. I love Air Asia and I will always fly with you. :D #naks

Ladies represent. :D We went island hopping as we do not what else to do. We saw a lot of activities but there’s a lot of reasons why we can’t do it; for one is that they were afraid, next is, my mom is already a senior citizen, third is that we need someone to look after our little baby girl so we can’t go on any activity entirely together and lastly, is that my sister is pregnant. Therefore, we only opted for easiest which is island hopping and snorkeling.

Had free dinner at Astoria Boracay. We got free stubs from their agent and we really didn’t know why but then again who are we to resist a FREE DINNER. Haha! Anyway, the food was fine and we were able to save but the catch was, they will invite for a seminar. It lasted for more than an hour and we wasted our time.

The good thing tho was that I told my family that only me and my boyfriend (then) that we’ll be the ones to stay so that they can still enjoy.

There are still more pictures from our Boracay trip so I’ll be posting this one first and if I have time (hopefully) I’ll upload the second part.

So I feel good with my standing in this tribe tbh. I feel like I have made meaningful contributions to the tribe in challenges and have a good rapport with a few tribe members. Keaton and Marie might be the easiest too get out, even though I am aware that it makes me a threat but we been used to that feeling. Having the idol as extra security as well makes me feel good so eeeek. I just want too survive to merge and link up with new people and people who i know as well, and play off that. im super nervous but also excited, i just hope to god we win this immunity

At first I thought this Alice and wonderland challenge was going to be super fun an exciting. At first it was. Now its getting a little frustrating and annoying seeing Not Found (something along those lines). I'm hoping that our 28 items is higher than the other tribe's or at least being a tie. I want to avoid tribal still because still feeling sketch about this tribe.

Anna announced a "live challenge" after this tribal (oh yeah we are safe again woo), but since we would be down to 12 I wouldn't be surprised if that "live challenge" is actually the merge announcement? If not. I think EVEN IF WE LOSE i should be in a decent position? Because Keaton couldn't keep his mouth shut and when it came to sitting someone out and called out Marie in the tribe chat. Bad move for him, good for me. Because even if we go to tribal unless someone really wants to target me for some reason it should be between those 2

Okay so we've come up with a slightly complicated plan. Looks like I'm going to lose Charlie this round which makes me kind of sad because I really get on well with him. But it's what i have to do to get further in the game. We're going to split the vote so The Dinah Dudes vote fro Nick. The OG Absolem people vote Charlie. Anna tells Nick he needs to use his Legacy Advantage so we get rid of that from the game. I just hope I come out of this without hurting Charlie or pissing off Nick.

So now he wants to flip his vote so worst case scenario it goes 2-2-2 and we can fix things on the revote. Ugh I hate scrambling. I prefer my tribals over easy.

I think I've "clicked" on what exactly is wrong with this show... I'm not a shounen "fan", but I've seen shounens I've enjoyed before. they all were... at least basically good, right? If you had a scene where character A calls out character B for an ass-kicking, there'd be a reason for the extra tension between them, not just... no reason, as with Beku and Icyhot. If you have a scene where a character's supposed to get serious they both actually change how they act and have an actual reason to both get serious and change their actions that way. I've seen people say BHA is "generic", with much discussion over whether that's a bad thing or not, but I think the main problem is tangential to that- it's not that it's generic, it's that those generic things are *meaningless*. The show feels like it's just mindlessly executing tropes for the sake of executing them, because that is what is done in the shonen show. And that's baaaaad, no matter which way you cut it. A generic show can at least be well-executed. This is not.

3 everyone just stands around dumbly as the designated important characters go through one by one. not only is this telegraphing who we're supposed to care about, it's boring

I like Beku actually being able to do things, using the chunk of robot debris, but I still think it would be better and more meaningful if he could at least use his powers, not to mention more interesting. (even if the land mines thing was pretty cool) This is just him... well, swinging around a hunk of debris. Honestly I'm not even sure he should be able to do as much as he did with just his normal muscle strength- problem is, even if it's illogical he has to be able to do it because he's not allowed to advance his hero powers even a smidge etc etc. Imagine if with each major battle he got control over just a sliver more of his own powers, so each time his capabilities changed a bit along with his strategies... he might pick up the hunk of debris anyway, because it's still useful with the amount of power he can control at the time. ... Except AM just wants Beku to get to the next round. Might want to just have said that, instead of making him think he has to ace it?...

Come to think of it, the business students' musings over Beku's sell-ability poke yet another hole in the first-years-costume thing. I don't like that those three heroes that happened to be in the area when shit went down in the first episode (or at least I think it's them? one of them might not be) are all acquaintances. It makes the "world" feel smaller, it's really artificial, it reduces interest, etc. What you'd expect from those first episodes is that those heroes are simply instances in an ensemble of a whole wild world of heroes, ships passing in the night, who knows who we'll see next... but instead we just see the same people again in exactly the same formation. And Woody is pointedly upset about Biggril sniping his win that one time, even though it shouldn't have been that notable of an event to him. It was a significant event to the audience because it introduced us to these characters and that part of the hero "system", but that doesn't make it significant in-universe, and mixing up the two is really awkward. It's basically weakly pandering to the audience by going "hey remember this thing that happen ha ha", with a side of excel spreadsheet writing- you go back to these characters and the only thing written for them is this little bit of interaction, so their entire characters are hung off of that. I don't like it

as expected, only the million point headband matters, beku wants it back immediately. you know what mighta been a cool strategy- in like the last minute of the game throw the headband into the middle of the field and steal a few normal bands in the chaos. Some rando gets first place (if the band doesn't end up destroyed or on the ground when time runs out) but you probably get an easy second. But instead we get... what I said before, about because muh heroic passions we need to be as dumb and unstrategic as possible. there's a difference between those who aim for the top and those who settle, and it matters, we're told. is there tho? You're just telling us these things and not showing us anything to support it. And it's conveniently a statement that perfectly patches over most if not all of the holes in the show's ethos if accepted. I'm just not convinced. wow, Beku finally did something without breaking a bone! but it was just nothing. he just swoosed the air. Did he not break anything because his powers have actually advanced, or just because he did nothing? If it's the latter he could just become a bootleg airbender and get a lot more use out of his powers... but I doubt it's the former and I doubt he;d actually do that. Meh. - what why only grab the one band? there's... just no reason. There's no reason for shuffling the bands to even be a strategy, because Beku could just as easily have grabbed a random band, or tried for the top one and missed and grabbed another... or just, you know, fucking grabbed all of them. If he'd just grabbed all of them there'd be no need for the asspull of birdguy having grabbed another band at some point. Just end the game with Beku seeing Icyhot still has the million point band but then looks at what he has and it's enough for fourth place.

there’s actually a museum on campus, but the thing is, a lot of the museums around here are more of modern art feel? like obscure abstract sculptures, minimalism, and a lot of photography. i really adore paintings and the older art styles, like renaissance, surrealism, photorealism, impressionism, etc. of course, all art is beautiful, but it’s more enjoyable for me personally to be drawing inspiration from realistic paintings.

So, my car is valued at 7400, and repairs just from visual inspection, are 7015. So they are going the totaled route as its cheaper for them. After they buy the car from me, they will sell it to salvage, expect to get 2k from it, and only be out 5400 instead of a full cost of repairs. So I've had the car for a year and half, taken out on a 5yr car loan. I still owe 12k on it. After they cut a check to the lean holder, I'm still responsible for 5k on that loan. The bank and my insurance at the time didn't offer gap insurance. Stupid of me, I let my current policy expire to search around for a more affordable policy. I kept procrastinating, and the accident happened with me having no insurance. Lucky he hit me and is at fault. I'm trying to see what my options are. I've gone to the liable company's website and see their basic plan for my state, law requires 25k in property liability for at fault accidents, plus medical etc. So I'm wondering what should I expect from the lady handling this claim. I'm not fooled when she called me yesterday and said that she is here to work with and for me. Saying that there is probably a lot of talk about lawyers, just know they will take 30-40% of you settlement. Know that I'm here to work for you, try to work with me I'm thinking my head total bull crap. 1, she works for her insurance company first, and will have their interest first, 2, she works for their client and to protect them from me in a suit. In the end, I'm not stuck with a car that they will not fully pay to have repaired, and will still owe 5k after they pay the loan holder the value of the car. My credit is damaged and getting a new loan is probably not going to happen easily. I really don't want to get a lawyer but I now have a car sitting in my driveway that I can't use plus a balance in the end. Anyone got some suggestions as to what I should realistically expect. The lady mentioned a liability settlement, repair settlement, medical expenses settlement, and personal injury settlement. I'm not out to make money on this as that just will not happen. But I have no car and will owe 5k still. I'm just like...f**k""

I'm trying to get health insurance for myself since I have been to my doctor last week and he looked at my swollen cheek and said that it might be cancer tumor, but they're not sure about it and running a biopsy and will know by end of the week. Now, the health insurance companies are denying me coverage because I told them about the doctor's appointment and now considering the tumor as preexisting condition. I was wondering if I didn't tell them about the tumor and got the insurance and got admitted to a hospital, and the insurance company sues me later on; would that a valid sue or could I actually fight it?
