And I don't care what canon says (primarily because I'm 99% certain the writers don't know what they're talking about). I cannot* be convinced that either of them would be fine with forever erasing their parents' names from their birth certificates.

*Okay, technically, canon could convince me on this point, but it would be difficult and I would be very skeptical, but it is possible. Tim would potentially be an easier sell than Dick.

ooc: My Thoughts on Victim Blaming Bucky

So when I reblogged that post about Bucky apologizing, yes I do think it would be hard for Tony to forgive and someone who killed his parents might want to apologize but he didn't do it of his own will. It's like someone else took the wheel of the car but he was driving and hit someone. Yes he was still responsible as the one in the drivers seat but the who took the wheel was the perpetrator. He was just in the seat.

Mainly I reblogged that because what the Russos did by fridging Bucky in Civil War was said to be a way for Bucky to atone by them. He hasn't got anything to atone for. It's not his fault he was aimed at someone. He was treated as a weapon.

Yes if someone killed my parents, I would be angry but he didn't have a motive. Essentially he killed because he was being forced to. He had no agency. There was a case in True Crime where this girl was lied to and told by her father at a young age that if she loved him she'd kill his former girlfriend or whatever and she was manipulated into killing her. She would be more to blame than Bucky and even she's not the mastermind. She's just being manipulated. But she had more of ability to say no than Bucky did. Bucky had no agency. No ability to stop.

I wholeheartedly believe that given the large amount of children stuck in the foster system/orphanages, someone's first child should always be adopted.

Oh what's that? Foster kids often come with complex needs & you're not ready for that? Your own flesh & blood child could be born with or develop complex needs. You're not ready to be a parent full stop.

Foster kids are often older children and you don't think you can handle an older child yet? Then you're not ready for a baby either, they grow up incredibly fast. May I instead interest you in one of these:

There's probably other reasons that people want a genetic child over an already existing child I am missing here, but I do think its worth really thinking about the why behind your thought. There are people who will go through surrogates to get as close to a genetic child as possible before they'd consider adoption. Why? Is baby breed really that important?

Oh and I even have a catchy slogan inspired by pet adoption.

Posting this kinda like a think piece. I really do think its worth considering, especially if you are someone who desperately wants a child. Why is it more important to you that it be your own flesh & blood? I want people to sit down with their prejudices & really think them through.

Oh and I'm not saying people should be forced to adopt because I wouldn't want someone adopting a kid then despising them, thinking of them as the thing they had to do to get to have their "own child". Its more of a call to think about whether or not you're actually ready to have a kid if you can't handle the thought of the complexities which could (but might not) come from adopting a kid.

y'all can all cancel me (again) for this, but if there's even a SHRED of 'who should I pick?' from Penelope in season 3, I am tuning out SO fast because like. . .sorry not sorry, there IS no choice. Debling is some crusty OC suitor she barely even knows and Colin is a man who she has been so supposedly in love with to the point where she'd ruin her entire family's reputation to have a potential love story with him. Penelope and Colin have background, years of knowing each other, intimacy that few people in the Ton can boast of having (letters, conversations about purpose, fights and arguments and makeups) and her and Debling have. . .a dance or two at a ball because he's a rebound for Penelope's broken heart. he means nothing. he has no nuance, he has no weight to the story, he is such an afterthought to me. either I wanna see Penelope going 'you know what? I don't even LIKE this dude. he's. . .fine, but I don't care about him even a shred as much as I care about Colin' or the INSTANT Colin's like 'you know what? we should get married' if it's not an immediate 'say less, you're already my husband, try returning me without the receipt, Debling whomst?' then I don't want it!

like. . .it's just so frustrating to see all the 'I hope Debling sweeps her off her feet and she rejects Colin's proposal and she makes him work for it and and and-' nonsense from the fandom and it's always tagged and no matter how many times I block it, it just keeps popping up. I go into the Polin tag for POLIN. I don't give a SHIT about a male love interest other than Colin. Not one. Not a shred. Not an iota.

and also. . .Debling has the 'benefit' of not having depth, or character traits, or HISTORY, so peeps can project onto him however they want, but I'm calling it now, there is NOTHING he could do or be that would make me like him more than Colin. Colin will always hit different, and I will always love him more. and if Pen's not on that same page? lol bye

you want me to believe Penelope and Colin are soulmates and it's romance for her to hem and haw about how difficult a decision it is for her to marry a stranger who knows barely anything about her. . .

when Marina was out here dropping banger lines like 'You were the only man with which I could see myself being happy' and 'I do not care about any of these men, where is Colin?'? like hello??? and she wasn't even fully in love with him!!!! but we'll demonize her until the cows come home in our fandom and make her the villain in Polin's love story for DARING to get in between Polin, yet Debling, a white man, is a darling dear perfect prince for getting in between Polin? existing in our fandom solely so Penelope can be like 'lol, Colin ain't shit, let me entertain any and everyone else'?

Controversial Opinion Time: I genuinely like Iron Man (MCU not comics, never read any Marvel comics, don't know anything about the comics). He may, in fact, be my top favourite.

(I mean. He's like joint with Captain America & Spiderman (&Bucky, if Bucky counts). But if I had to name only one, I'd probably go with him.)

I do. I know some people think either he wouldn't have or he would've missed so that's why the writers had him shoot Dorian instead, but mmmmmm no, I don't personally think so. I like to think that if he had taken the shot, his shaky hands would've caused him to shoot her fatally.

Mostly because I'm already so normal about the fact that of the Ericson crew, Marlon and Louis are the only ones with a body count. Well, that we know of, but shown to us in the game, at least. Plus, we know it's Louis' first kill.

Like yeah, Clementine and AJ become part of the crew and they have bigger body counts, and if we're counting indirect kills caused by actions, then Tenn has a count... and I guess everyone has blood on their hands for blowing up the boat... but I'm talking about killed directly with a weapon like....... I lied, I'm not normal about that at all, Louis and Marlon are the ones who have killed someone in Louis' route. I'm also not normal about the fact that Louis kills Dorian and then even as he's clearly in shock, he tries to go with Clementine to get AJ, and then later on when they talk about it, he says it feels like bile but not quite and he's glad he has it in him to do it.... listen, listen, listen... I'm obsessed with that.

Anyway, so if Louis shot Minerva, I think he would've accidentally killed her and can you imagine? He's already enough of a mess after killing the woman who pinned him down and tried to cut his finger off [or succeeded] but he knew Minerva, they were friends before the twins were taken. Even Violet couldn't kill her even though that would've been the smarter thing to do, and we know thanks to meta knowledge that killing her would've saved lives, but Violet couldn't, and I don't think Louis would intentionally either.

Speaking of Violet, if Louis killed Minerva, I hate to think about what that would've done to Vi. I think she might've actually left at that point, like what was planned before it got changed to her being burned. I don't think she would've attacked Louis over it, though, like yeah she attacked Clementine in the cell but Louis? I don't know, but I don't think so just because it's Louis and he'd be a mess about it anyway.

Though if he did kill her, it would be a neat parallel to draw... y'know, because Louis forgave AJ for killing Marlon even though he was pissed and heartbroken, and Violet was annoyed with him the entire time... but could she ever forgive Louis for killing Minerva? Y'know? We already have a similar parallel with AJ shooting Tenn, but still.

If Clementine killed Minerva in that moment, though, then I could see Violet attacking her since in her eyes, Clem proved her right.

So yeah, I get why they added the Dorian kill to his route. It adds another compelling element to Louis as a character, but we also need Minerva alive for episode 4; Louis can't kill her, he can't miss, and he's not going to stay with her because we need Violet to stay on the boat and him to be on shore for all routes.
