Can I just say how much I LOVE YOU for this? I had so much fun writing this prompt so THANK YOU a million times!

This includes an oc from my long multi-chapter (actually Damen/Laurent) fanfic Linger. So, for all my Fabio stans out there: enjoy girlies.

Apologies for any grammar and/or spelling mistakes, this wasn’t edited.

London in December was overwhelming, yet not unforgiving.

It was cold and yet warmer than Laurent had expected, considering Christmas was around the corner and winters, in his experience, were seasons to be feared and dreaded and hated. Back in Marlas, the skies would turn low and perennially gray with the first snows, and he would wake up to the quietness of a muffled world covered in white.

In Italy, the world was just wet and the air achingly wrenching of humid and moss. Shops and restaurants closed early and some would lock up entirely until the spring. Without tourists, or with a wave significantly smaller, it wasn’t worthy to keep open and endure it. Laurent couldn’t blame them, really. Had he the chance, he’d decide to live in spring for the rest of his days.

London, however, was entirely different and pleasant in a way he hadn’t expected. He’d been to England before, maybe twice and during the summer, when it was hot enough for it to be suffocating and everyone was always useless and drunk.

It was his first time to go for the holidays, and it was Fabio’s first time entirely. Nevertheless, in spite of having seen it all before when the crowds were bustling with heat and beer, Laurent found that he liked this charm the better. He liked the blue skies and early nights and walks through Hyde Park while drinking hot chocolate with Baileys.

And of course, he liked the company. He liked the way Fabio enjoyed everything he did from morning to evening and never complained about being too tired or bored or hungry, the way Nicaise usually was.

He liked it when they went to museums and Fabio talked animatedly about what he knew and wondered even more cheerfully about what he didn’t. A city like London was the source of energy of artists and poets and musicians – it only happened that Fabio was all three combined.

And so, Laurent loved it, really. He loved not caring one bit that Christmas was around the corner and he was a million years away from home. He loved going to Oxford Street and seeing the lights adorning the shops and buildings, making it seem both cliché and fantastic. He loved taking Fabio’s hand as they tried to pass through a mass of people walking in and out the tube station.

They’d spent the evening shopping presents for their respective families, Fabio doting on every person that he loved, as per usual. His list included three older sisters, loving parents and uncles and cousins. Nephews and nieces, two brothers-in-law and a future sister-in-law. The sister of his grandma who’d remained unmarried and treated him like the child she never had.

Anyway.

Laurent only shopped for his mom, Clementine and his two best friends. He was done in half an hour.

By the time they’d been in and out of Selfridges, a semi-luxurious department store with it’s own chocolaterie section, they were carrying too many bags for two people and felt the exhaustion on their legs following a pang of hunger.

“Allora?” Fabio asked him as they stepped out the door, breathing in chilly air. “Andiamo a casa?”

Laurent nodded. He smiled, “We can order takeout.”

Fabio made a face and Laurent’s lips curved even higher into a grin, knowing the words that were coming, “Please no more british food.”

“What’s wrong with scotch eggs and breaded fish?”

Disgusted, Fabio shook with goosebumps at the memory of a disappointing dinner during their second night in the city. “Let’s just have pizza or burgers like normal people.”

Laurent laughed, then took Fabio’s hand as they walked, following the directions of the map in his phone. It would take a thirty minute bus ride to get to Nicaise’s house –that he’d kindly let them use for their trip– somewhere between South Kensington and Chelsea, but both of them had taken a liking to the double decker views, so they didn’t mind it much.

Or wouldn’t have, except it started to rain, out of sudden, as it happened often in London. Suddenly they were walking faster, almost running.

The bus stop was packed with people sheltering under, so they had no option but to open the cheap umbrella they’d gotten from a street vendor earlier and stand close together as they waited.

“Are you cold, Lori?” Fabio asked, holding the umbrella with one hand, then taking Laurent’s freezing knuckles with the other one.

“Only a lot,” Laurent replied, head coming to rest on Fabio’s shoulder.

With a glance to the screen of the stop, Fabio said softly, “It’s only four minutes more.”

So they waited. More people came to the stop, unbothered by the rain or hiding under umbrellas like them. Comfortable silence was one of the things he’d only found in Fabio. Laurent could stand there leaning against him without saying a word, and Fabio would only kiss his head, let him be.

Peace. Laurent looked up, saw Fabio looking somewhere ahead, lost in thought.

“Found something interesting?” he teased.

Fabio turned back to him, smiled, “Not more than you.”

“Interesting is quite a word to describe me.”

“It’s only accurate, amore. Another of many.”

“Such as?”

“Dolce,” Fabio said, caressing his cheek, “Bello.”

“Kissable?”

Fabio closed his eyes for a second, delighted as he chuckled, “Let me find out.”

Underneath the umbrella, Fabio leaned down to kiss him softly, sweetly, and Laurent cherished it. He wanted to bottle up the moment, put it inside a snow globe he could shake alive again.

“What’s the verdict?” he whispered, pulling away slightly.

“Kissable.” Fabio said before kissing him again.

London in December was rainy, foggy and yet extraordinarily magical.

Word is that July will have a wedding every week that will lead to a funeral. Allie Horton is all grown up and heading back with a secret. Will she be like Mom, Sami?? Brady thinks that ruining Titan will get back at Victor. Sonny and Will may get a chance at another child. Eve may be back later in the summer. And, C’mon Xander, do something wonderful to get your woman back. Lucas may be on the way back and Orpheus is leaving. ** Judi Evans (Adrienne) had a serious horseback riding accident on May 16. She had broken ribs, a collapsed lung and 2 chipped vertebrae. The good news was in the hospital they discovered a blood clot so the whole thing saved her life.

More than 1000 were arrested and it continues.** In Flint, Sheriff Chris Swanson and other police put down helmets and joined the protestors. Police in Schenectady took a knee and joined the march. The behavior is spreading and look what a difference it makes, could they be starting to get it?

The market facilitation program has been helping small farmers over the last few years in a $28 billion bailout. Trump’s sanctions brought this on and the corona virus has made it worse. Mostly the money has helped bankers and bigger farms. Much like the stimulus $ that was earmarked for small business, there are loopholes that screw up the ‘rules.’ The cap is not being followed like they may say because the $ is going to “investors” in the farm and often not the actual farmer who works on a smaller scale. A small farm run by family members may not get the bailout. It seems to be more important to get a good lawyer who can manipulate the paperwork. Sad that taxpayer $ is used this way.

Jeff Gibbs and Michael Moore are upset after Youtube pulled their doc, Planet of the Humans. After 8.3 million views, there was a copyright claim by Toby Smith of about 4 seconds of footage. Now , this is not the first time that Moore has had problems with content in one of his movies. Many have claimed there is a lot of fiction in this latest venture. I think I would just remove the possible copyright infringement and move on. It can now be seen on Vimeo.

A Florida law that restricts felon voting is found unconstitutional by a federal judge.** The RNC filed a lawsuit against California to stop mailing ballots to registered voters.

as a lot of ppl, carley is one of my favorites from s1 ( still love doug, though. ) she gives me huge chloe decker vibes, a character from 'lucifer', for some reason lmao. idk she's just like one of those characters you'd see in a show, and their personality is just so likeable ?? god, i miss her. she would've been a great mother figure to clem and aj. i still feel like there should've been proper goodbye after she died, y'know?

I’ve never watched Lucifer, but I agree that Carley’s personality is just so damn likable and that she would’ve been a great mother figure for Clementine and AJ if she had lived that long.

It really bums me out that she didn’t make it past season one.

Do you ever think about how characters like her or Lee didn’t even survive the first year of the apocalypse? Because I do and it bums. me. OUT.

Random Lucifer fic scenario: the classic “oh no we got exposed to something potentially fathal and now we gotta stay in a decontamination room and hope we won’t die” episode. And it’s Lucifer and Pierce. They hate it and they can’t escape it, everyone saw them clearly getting contaminated. Pierce can just die and come back and then heals very fast from the leftovers and it wouldn’t even stick on Lucifer if Chloe wasn’t close, but in case she’s close now that he’s got wings again he can literally die for real and just fly back up (at least that’s what I think happens to angels here if they don’t get obliterated with Azreal's Blade? They just keep respawning in Heaven or Hell and can freely come and go as long as they have wings?). Not pleasant but they could deal with it. But now they’re quarantined in a tiny ass decontamination enclosure entirely made of plexiglass and plastic so everyone passing by has their eyes on them and everyone is fretting and checking on them.

And I want to put it before Lucifer and Pierce’s fallout so Lucifer is still trying to pester him about finding his vulnerability and.won’t.stop.talking. Chloe checks on them and Pierce looks like a broken man, the first thing that comes out of his mouth is “Decker. Decker please shoot me. I can’t take this anymore, I don’t think he’s even breathing anymore it’s horrifying.” (and Lucifer is still running commentary in the background and trying to hold separate conversations with both Chloe and Pierce at the same time). And at night he’s just swinging between cursing and pleading God like, is this his final punishment, one of his sons is just gonna make Pierce loose his goddamn mind? Wasn’t the Mark already punishment enough you sick fuck?? The worst thing is that Lucifer can go long times with little to no sleep so night isn’t even that safe anyway. There’s just gonna be a few minutes of silence then “....So... About th-” and Pierce yells into his pillow. He hasn’t cried in like 6 or 7 hundred years but he gets pretty close to just curling up in fetal position and sobbing in that moment.

He ends up talking with Lucifer out of sheer exasperation. If he talks Lucifer shuts up. He doesn’t see how talking about his countless husbands and wives and partners and the bajillion children and pets and friends he’s had over the millennia or wether he prefers peacher or clementines will help their case but he’d do just about anything to shut him up, like whatever, this is gonna turn in History Time with Cain and Lucifer (Lucifer waggles his eyebrows and leers “Anything, Lieutenant”, Chloe’s there this time too, Pierce tells her “I changed idea, shoot him Decker”). They end up doing some back and forth about where they were over the ages and Lucifer finally settles a little (he produces a tiny notebook and a pen from somewhere and starts writing things down, Pierce tells him if he takes out the glasses again too he will punch him). Someone maybe overhears something but it looks like Pierce is just humouring Lucifer’s Devil thing. Lucifer then does have some tiny moment of introspection where he admits aside from the ‘Holds a grudge against God’ thing he’s also worried about him too being an immortal among mortals, “I can’t imagine becoming an insufferable sack of miserableness like you. But they too will go where I can’t follow so....”. It’s probably one of the first times after the undercover mission Pierce has seen Lucifer somewhat serious about something. But it’s not like Pierce has any advice. His own method has been 1) obsessively try to find a loophole 2) never get close to anyone ever again 3) cling to literal rocks because they last a lot and won’t leave him. So uh, they’re kinda both fucked.

Parents stick a Post-it bow on their baby girl's head after daycare staff says she should dress more 'girly'

When dropping off your little one at nursery school, you might expect childcare workers to check if you’d remembered to bring diapers, a spare set of clothes, and a sippy cup.

What you might not expect is for them to advise you that you need to dress your child in more gender-stereotypical clothing. But that’s exactly what happened to these parents when they dropped off their infant daughter at daycare.

Steve Rold recently took to Reddit to explain that he and his wife, Jessica, had been left surprised when the staff at his daughter Clementine’s nursery school suggested that they should think about dressing their little girl in dresses or put bows in her hair to help the other kids understand she was female.

Their response? To stick a Post-it note with a drawing of a bow on their child’s head.

“How my wife dressed our daughter the day after the teachers at daycare told her we should really be dressing her more like a girl,” he wrote alongside a picture of his daughter sporting her “bow.”

Unsurprisingly, Reddit users loved the couple’s jokey response, with many sharing similar stories of gender judgment.

“Why do they think they should even suggest what your child wears? Weird people,” one redditor commented.

“My 4-year-old loves pink,” another explained of her son. “All his friends are girls and they all love pink, MLP (My Little Pony), and princesses… so my son loves to wear pink (he has exactly one pink shirt that he wears the moment it is clean), he begs to watch MLP the moment he gets home from school, and he talks about princesses all the time. I see our family visibly cringe. It’s great.”

“I have a 5-year-old girl,” added another parent. “She loves Pokemon, Minecraft, and has said she wants a Hot Wheels track set for Christmas. She also loves MLP, Barbie, mermaids, princesses, and unicorns. … Sometimes we buy her T-shirts and PJs from the boys section … because it’s easier to find stuff that doesn’t have those annoying little frilly things on the sleeves that feel scratchy and bother her. Just let kids have fun and enjoy what they want.”

“My 2-year-old daughter is misgendered often by strangers,” read another comment. “Like we’ll be grocery shopping and someone will say “isn’t he a good little helper.” It doesn’t bother me. Her hair is still quite short and she generally just wears a T-shirt and pants. … But if someone made some other comment, like muttering something under their breath about how she should be wearing a dress, that would rustle my jimmies.”

In a statement to Yahoo Lifestyle, Rold explained that the daycare staffers were likely just trying to be helpful.

“Maybe they thought that it hadn’t crossed our minds to dress our daughter any differently or perhaps they just didn’t want to answer a million questions from the other kids at the daycare as to why our baby isn’t dressed in pink and flowers,” he said.

“The suggestion was actually pretty mild but it was piled onto a hundred other similar ones that I’m sure all parents get, so my wife just felt the need to push back a tiny bit. My wife was just trying to expose the humor inherent in the situation.”

And it certainly hasn’t put the family off the nursery.

“It’s an absolutely amazing daycare,” he said. “They focus on early education and outdoor play. We both feel like we’re extremely lucky to have our kid in that kind of place.”
