I just saw you also write for PJO, and I was wondering if you were willing to write a crossover oneshot with Moon Knight (no pairing, purely platonic) where Marc comes across a teen who seems to be being attacked by some thug. And when Marc goes to help her (despite Khonshu insisting that he shouldn’t, because he knows the kid is a demigod and the thug is actually a monster, and since he’s apart of the Egyptian pantheon, he doesn’t want to get involved with the Greek/Romans), and it revealed to him that the girl can handle her own, and with his help, kills the monster. She then reveals herself as a daughter of Demeter when Marc persists on knowing what that monster was and why Khonshu was so persistent in not getting involved. Depending on how you’d want to end it, after learning more about demigods and their lifestyle, maybe Marc can be like “I’m taking this kid in.” and just shows up at his and Layla’s safe house with the teen in tow, much to Layla’s confusion. Cause you cannot tell me Marc wouldn’t feel bad for this kid and would want to take them in.
If you’re not okay with writing this, totally understandable. It’s just that this crossover premise has a bunch of potential, and it’s a shame that there aren’t many stories with these two fandoms.
Hey anon! I know it’s been literally MONTHS since you sent this in but I just wanted to let you know that I’m working on it! Giant writing slumps have been kicking my ass but I’ve decided to force myself back to it! I can’t promise it’ll be out any time soon but as soon as I publish it I’ll update this post or reblog it with the link attached :D
also I do themed borders for all my stuff and I want to show u the one I made for this crossover cus I’m so insanely proud of it

This what I mean 👇🏻

Dear (returning) Bitchy Anon,
I wrote this answer yesterday, but I am posting it today, because I did not want to give you any satisfaction. Your coming back in here proves there is not an ounce of humanity left in you: just a #silly obsession for an actress who does not even know or care you exist. I promise you she doesn't. Confidently so.
But then, onwards to your 'evidence'.
You thought you would give me the creeps on Christmas Day with a controversial picture allegedly taken at the Weinstein (yes, that Weinstein!) and Netflix Golden Globes afterparty, on January 8, 2017?
No, seriously now: you actually did?
Crikey. As we say in Romanian (and yes, it is very rude, but also dementedly funny): mi se umple fundul de lacrimi/my arse is in tears. Perhaps the equivalent of I don't give a flying fuck, btw.
If you did read me before posting your laughable shite, and I think you did, you should know by now how I usually work, at least for those things I choose to make public (the rest is none of your business, I am afraid). You found this pic on Pinterest, originating from a Tumblr blog: @clairebeauchampfan. Since this person started blogging one year later than the moment this picture was taken, she probably found it chez Contemplating Outlander. You know, that pseudo-social scientist-cum-shrink, who thinks people are machines and adds a shitload of footnotes to her rantings, because she truly believes it makes her biased crap more credible (it doesn't, and this comes from an academic researcher: it is legit pathetic). So Claire Beauchamp Fan shared it and forgive me, but I did not bother finding her post, I just looked for her source (*urv's fetish):
Tumblr media
This took me to CO's really nasty blog and you could have spared me that ordeal, Anon: it's literally akin to severe constipation. And then, onwards to Instagram:
Tumblr media
A further search revealed she was wearing a Romanian designer (Maria Lucia Hohan) dress and Amrapali earrings. And then, I read the comments on that Insta post. Maybe you'd read them too, they are enlightening - for someone who's 'been around since 2015', people are rather confused about his real status in her life, don't you think?
Tumblr media
But Internet is really forever, no matter how you try to hide your trash, Anon. Here is a copy of O'Callaghan's post which was, indeed, deleted: maybe *urv was too insistent? It wouldn't surprise me:
Tumblr media
She should have won the Golden Globe in 2017, that's true. And it was S, not McIdiot, the one who told the Internet she should have won all those prizes, if memory serves. How odd McIdiot is never mentioned in that particular post (y'all would have paraded it for YEARS, if it were so) - but household staff, no matter how promoted, never really is. And before you screech, tell all the damn truth Anon, and put this pic in its right context:
Tumblr media
How odd the 'successful music producer and entrepreneur' (he is not successful, nor a music producer and much less an entrepreneur) was not tagged, by someone who is active in the industry, who clearly knows C and who attended that Golden Globes gala!
Just a last word on that pic. C was obviously smiling and talking animatedly with O'Callaghan and then McIdiot (who looks malnourished - but hey, humble beginnings, eh?) got dragged in the middle, for the convenient pic. I sometimes wonder what kind of social life you people have and sadly, I have to say - next to 0, for some of you. I never fuck the dozens of men with whom I do have similar 'just because' pics, interrupting my conversation in the middle of an event.
Also, check this very warm & fuzzy pic with one prominent member of her own, personal and very, very gay Circle of Trust. Because I am sorry, but what straight man wears lipstick, as McIdiot clearly does (and no, it's not because they were smooching in the lavatories, what are you, 14?):
Tumblr media
She looks happy, doesn't she?
I mean: really, honey. Get a Real Life and stop trying to persuade me with ye olde Pinterest pics you clearly are completely clueless about, ok?
And before you open your mouth to vomit CO's trash again, please carefully do your homework about McIdiot. But as carefully as I did. Then you can talk, share your interesting findings. Merry Christmas and....

Ok so this is about to be a very incoherent suggestion for a poll because I have 0 idea how to explain it but I shall try.
So if Dean or Cas was to watch a action/drama/horror (that's not that horrific) where to fellas had a relationship as (un)subtle as destiel would they think the two of them were platonic or romantic.
Basically if Dean or Cas were to watch a show with a ship similar to destiel would they ship it.
Thanks and love your blog ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
thank you for the love :) i see what you are asking here, which is essentially: do dean and cas have gaydar (HARD NO) and can dean and cas recognize their own dynamic when shown to them (unlikely)
to be entirely fair, i think they are confronted with this scenario quite frequently in the canon of the show, their dynamic is mirrored in front of them by other characters and they either learn the "lesson" that is to be gleaned from the mirror relationship and apply it to their own relationship or they don't (they mostly don't). It seems like they can recognize when people have a "profound bond" that might be relatable to their situation, so long as that bond is not queer, given how frequently dean is shown just being unable to identify queer people (ex the cupid scene holy shit)
so i'm going to modify your question a smidge to: what happens if they watch brokeback mountain. because 1) it's a notable movie with a similar dynamic to destiel, which is the root of your original question 2) it's an explicitly queer relationship 3) it has cowboys in it. i think that might be the easiest shorthand for what we are trying to ask about here.
so enough of my rambling, here's the poll:
hopefully this gets to the root of your question anon, if not pop back in my inbox :)

different anon! but i 100% upvote other anon's comment of you being the professor of hoshino-aiology 😎👍 your posts about her give me a newfound appreciation for her and imo you should be the one writing 15 year lie frfr 🤧👏✨️
and if you haven't written anything abt it, could you share your thoughts abt the spica ai chapter? i liked ai and saitou in it but i was shocked at how intense the b-komachi bullying was :0 poor ai 😢
THANK YOU ANON…….. god can you imagine what this manga would be like if i had been given that kind of creative control. you're going to read my 15 volume hoshino ai backstory flashback and you're going to love every single chapter of it!!!
When it comes to Spica, I have pretty mixed feelings on that first chapter. For transparency's sake, I broadly dislike the novel overall and I think it takes away from the relationships it depicts more than it adds. Like I mentioned in a previous ask, my issue with Spica (and its depiction of OnK's world and characters) is its tendency to flatten and simplify many of the interesting interpersonal wrinkles that characterize these central dynamics in the main story. This is much more evident in the GRSR chapters (as outlined in that post) but you can absolutely see it in Ai's chapter as well.
POST-WRITING CLAIRE EDIT: So while this post initially started as me broadly skimming some of the issues I had with chapter 1, it has ballooned into a much, MUCH longer essay about what it is about Spica that I disliked and why, broadly, I think it fails to work both as a standalone piece and as an addition to OnK as a canon. I'm pretty negative about the book in this post and very critical of the writing so if you really liked Spica and it would bum you out to see me take it apart, feel free to skip this post.
On the surface, Ai and Saitou's dynamic is pretty true to the main story and I will admit that I do enjoy their rapport in this chapter and just that we got a chapter focusing on this relationship full stop. Ai and Saitou's relationship is one I've always been particularly soft for and getting a whole chapter that was basically just exploring its early days was really nice. But it's also a very rose tinted view of that relationship in a way I think does it a bit of a disservice. I discussed this in my OnK anime rewatch but Spica's take on Saitou (and thus on his relationship with Ai) frames him as a wholly positive and supportive figure whose desires for money and success in the entertainment industry are explicitly, textually said to be secondary and unimportant to his uncomplicated kind desire to support them as they succeed. There's almost this sense of "wow, isn't it so noble and cool that saitou is kindly allowing these tweenage girls to work themselves ragged making money for his company!!!" that's a bit icky to read.
This is in line with the bizarre ways Spica portrays idol culture, in particular the 'oshi'/fan dynamic. This is another thing I've discussed before, so I'll borrow my previous words on the topic:
The Japanese text of [chapter 137] takes this dehumanization a step further: Rather than the wasei-eigo term アイドル (aidoru), when calling [Ai] an idol, Gotanda uses the word 偶像 (guzou) - an idol by its original definition. It goes beyond just reducing her to an animal - it’s objectification in the very literal sense. Ai is an idol, a ceremonial object of worship, an inanimate vessel for the dirty desires of the people around her. [...] Spica [...] depicts the moment that Ai starts down this road, committing herself to being an idol who will love and support everyone, even people who hate and scorn her. This is framed by the novel as being something of a breakthrough for her and being liberating for it but I came out of it feeling deeply unsettled in a way I don’t think the novel wanted me to be. [...] Spica depicts the moment that Ai goes from アイドル to 偶像 without seeming to realise that’s what it’s doing and thus does so in a way that is not just uncritical but wholly celebratory. In a lot of ways, this makes sense - Spica, broadly speaking, is about the “oshi” part of Oshi no Ko: the emotional fulfillment of not just receiving support but in the act of giving support yourself, in cheering someone on and seeing them succeed. Spica depicts these sorts of relationships in a straightforwardly and uncritically positive light, even in cases of parasocial relationships between fans and celebrities.
There was a lot on that topic that I left out just because that chapter review was already getting so fucking long and unhinged but Spica's entirely uncritical and celebratory view of idol culture in general always leaves me feeling deeply uncomfortable every time I engage with the text. There's a degree to which this can be excused, because Spica takes place in the POV of characters who have drunk the industry kool-aid and thus would not necessarily interpret some of this stuff with the same critical lens as a reader. A charitable interpretation of the material is that, like Viewpoint B and 45510, the story is choosing to refrain from commenting on these troubling elements for the purposes of allowing the reader to have their own take on it.
This would be nice… except it's just not how Spica handles emotional beats at all!
When talking about Spica in the past I have jokingly referred to it as being written like 'the emotional equivalent of the Superdictionary' and by that I mean that it has absolutely no restraint or subtlety when it wants you to Feel Something. When Spica has an emotional beat, it hammers it in until any organically resulting resonance with the material has been reduced to a fine paste. When it has Thoughts and Opinions about a topic, it will explain them to the reader in excruciating detail so there is no risk of the reader taking away anything that wasn't intended by the author.
My point is that there is every indication that Spica's straightforwardly celebratory portrayal of idol culture and the way fans respond to idols is something intended to be taken at face value with no further interrogation. Spica is, by and large, entirely uninterested in acknowledging the ugly underbelly of exploitation, dehumanization and misogyny that drives idol culture and idol fandom.
I think the best way to illustrate this is to look at the scene near the end of the chapter where Ai finally sits and reads her fan letters. The first two are genuinely warm and sweet but the third always jumps out at me in a way I don't think was intended by the author;
“Hello, Ai-chan. I'm a devoted listener to your streams. B-Komachi's songs and talk shows have honestly become my sanctuary. I'm currently stuck working to the bone at a terrible company. They hardly pay me anything, and every day I just want to die. But what keeps me going is knowing I have your streams to look forward to every week. I’m not even kidding. Ai-chan, you're my reason to live!"
The story does not for a second pause to linger on this letter but I want you to stop and really take it in. While we know nothing about this letter's author outside of what's written here, but given that they have a job they can be presumed to be an adult. In addition, the final line of the letter in Japanese is 『アイちゃんは俺の生きる希望!』, using the masculine first person pronoun 俺 (ore), implicitly gendering the writer as a man.
An adult man writes to Ai to traumadump on her uninvited about his suicidal ideation and telling her in no uncertain terms that she is the sole, singular reason he is alive. Ai is a twelve year old girl.
Spica frames this as an entirely good, wholesome and affirming moment for her. It's one of many similar moments where Spica's celebration of idol culture clashes so strongly with the main story's that trying to make them tonally cohere is almost impossible. In fact, mild tangent, but I was working with the Spica TL team on chapter 1 right around the time chapter 137 dropped, and reading the ending of this chapter back to back with 137's tearing down of Ai's exploitation at the hands of the idol industry was some real injury-worse-than-whiplash inducing shit.
To be clear, I don't need Oshi no Ko to have a huge UM ACKSHULLY THIS IS WHY THIS IS BAD!!!! digression every time characters have positive interactions with the concept of idols. It is fundamentally dishonest and lacking in nuance to portray idolhood as something entirely and unrelentingly negative or to act like idols hate every single second they spend as idols. Sarina and Gorou's POV chapters do a very good job of highlighting what I talked about earlier - Spica's ruminations on the 'oshi' part of Oshi no Ko and how a relationship of support can be emotionally fulfilling both for the person being supported and the person unreservedly providing it. But that's purely from a fan perspective and I think it would be really interesting to Spica to take the opportunity afforded to it by being in Ai's POV to properly interrogate what Ai enjoys about being an idol.
But the way it chooses to do so just feels atonal both with Ai's arc and relationship to idolhood as portrayed in the main story and ways the manga has talked about 'oshi' culture in chapters published before and after Spica's release. It clashes with Oshi no Ko in ways I find difficult to satisfyingly reconcile.
This sense of clashing with and contradicting Oshi no Ko is an issue Spica has more broadly, in big and small ways. Some of this is just small, incidental details but other issues are larger and added all together, it results in a sense that Spica was not written by a person fully keyed into Oshi no Ko's world and characters. Like, just off the top of my head, here's some things that stuck out to me just from chapter 1:
Ai notes that she was separated from her mother a long time prior to the story's timeframe but given the ages give for her in 131 and here in Spica, it cannot be more than three years max since she was removed from Ayumi's care.
B-Komachi's formation and Ai's joining the group are both said to have happened 'three months ago' as of chapter 1's timeframe and thus to have happened more or less at the same time. This contradicts the Akasaka written material that consistently frames Ai as being one of the senior members, yes, but as having joined the group after Nino, Takamine and Watanabe.
The portrayal of Ai's bullying by the other B-Komachi members in no way matches Nino's account of it in 45510. This isn't even in a way you can put to Nino being an unreliable narrator. The details are so different that the only way to reconcile them is to assume these are two separate instances of bullying and that Nino just. Didn't mention the first time it happened for no reason.
On the subject of the bullies, the two girls targeting Ai are implied by their physical descriptions to be Takamine and Mei. While we don't really know anything about Mei yet, the vicious and unapologetic hostility Takamine displays clashes with her 'tough love' roughness that we are shown in the main story. In addition, this contradicts 45510's very explicit statement that Ai's bully was IMMEDIATELY fired from B-Komachi, no questions asked, the instant Saitou knew who she was. There is no indication in Spica that Ai's bullies so much as get a slap on the wrist for their behaviour.
Spica attributes B-Komachi's current success almost entirely to Ai and portrays her as working very hard on set and communicating with every other member of staff almost excessively to the point of annoyance. Not only does this contradict the early manga's portrayal of Ai as being antisocial and uncommunicative on set prior to her being sent to Lala Lie, it also contradicts chapters that were released following Spica that explicitly credit Nino as the key figure for B-Komachi's initial boom of success and states that Ai joined the group after Nino had cemented their popularity.
There are absolutely ways that you can handwave these contradictions and sew up the internal logic but to me, the nature of these contradictions matter to me less than the fact that they exist in the first place. This implies, especially given that some of these are in material written by Akasaka after Spica was published that he and Tanaka were, to some degree, not on the same page about the book's material.
There's some other things scattered about that aren't necessarily direct textual contradictions but nevertheless feel really out of step with OnK's takes on these characters. And like… I have tried to be relatively measured and good faith in my critiques so far but there is a part of chapter one that makes me so just bees buzzing around in my brain flames on the side of my face blood boiling in my veins insane that you must allow me to just uncharitably tear into it.
[Ai:] “Ah, now I get it. Are you buying a gift for your girlfriend, President? You like them young, after all…“ Finally, it clicked. The president, being considerably older than his girlfriend, needed the insights of a girl closer to her age in order to pick out the perfect gift. If that was the case, that explained why Ai had been roped into this. [Ai:] “Well, not that I should be getting into your business or anything, but…President, be careful when you mess with underage girls, okay? Nowadays, you’ll seriously end up in jail.”
I'M SORRY. WHAT THE FUCK AM I READING RIGHT NOW. SHE WOULD NOT FUCKING SAY THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This moment actually makes me so angry that it is difficult for me to clearly and calmly articulate what I find objectionable about it. I understand that it sounds very dramatic, but this is the first in a very consistent line of Spica bringing up the idea of adult men engaging in romance and/or sex with underage girls with this blithe, jokey and dismissive tone that entirely undermines everything Oshi no Ko itself says about CSA. The fact that it starts off this trend by putting these words in the mouth of Ai, WHO IS HERSELF A FUCKING CSA VICTIM, and treats the entire exchange as a throwaway joke honestly makes me feel a little bit sick.
This is part of a much broader and more troubling trend in Spica of Hajime Tanaka simply not being able to write young women in a naturalistic and human way. It's difficult for me to express exactly what it is that feels so off other than to say that it's Covered In The Fucking Ooze in a way typical of Men Who Can't Write Women. Ai's bullies in chapter 1 are so cartoonishly and stereotypically catty and mean that they barely feel human and they are written with all the distinct individuality as Thing 1 and Thing 2. The more complicated, two-sided conflict between two flawed people as seen in Ai and Nino's relationship is totally absent here. It's just the most vapid, stereotypical depiction of Teenage Girl Bullying you can imagine.
On top of that, there is a consistency with which Tanaka puts the topic of sex into the mouths and minds of these young women that fees… icky and offputting to me in a way I find difficult to articulate. In general, the voices of these young girls feel off and inauthentic in a way the main series never struggles with. For all I've criticized Oshi no Ko for in the past, something I think Akasaka is consistently and surprisingly good at is writing female characters who feel just as distinctly well realized and fleshed out as his male characters and that he does so in a way that does not rely on completely degendering them - their experiences as women are important to and inform that their characterization but does not entirely rule it. Despite overwhelmingly centering girls as the heart of its narrative, Spica barely feels capable of writing them as people.
All this together gives Spica this really strong sense - to me - of not really fitting in with the spirit of Oshi no Ko as a story. It's not just that the narrative voice is different but that there is an underlying flavour to Spica's takes on this world and its characters that clashes with the original. The cast as a whole just feels off, not blatantly OOC in a way you can directly point to but just enough to feel uncanny and give me a THEY WOULD NOT FUCKING SAY THAT!!!!! moment for almost every single person with a speaking line. It feels, as I put it on the Oshi no Brainrot server, like a thing that exists not because there was a part of the OnK narrative that worked best as a light novel but because somebody, somewhere thought a Oshi no Ko light novel would make some money and decided to have one churned out.
oh my god anon I'm so sorry lmfao you did not ask for this GIGANTIC ODYSSEY OF A POST!! This was just one of those asks that tapped into a topic I had already been having extensive conversations with myself about in my brain (I have a very boring job with a lot of time spent alone lol) and the more I typed, the more of those thoughts spilled out. I think a big part of why I am so compelled (derogatory) by Spica's missteps and mishandling of its material is that there is so much potential here and so many points where the material really comes close to just being flat out good.
A moment in chapter 1 that I think about a lot is Ai thinking about why she hasn't been reading any of her fan letters - because the last letter she got was her mom's lawyer telling her that Ayumi had gone missing after her release from custody, thus confirming for Ai that she had been abandoned to the system by her. Because of her association between those emotions and the act of reading a letter, she simply can't bring herself to open any of her fan letters because of the lingering anxiety.
Not only is this an entirely human and believable traumabrained anxiety kid fear for her to have but it's totally in line with Ai's flaw of avoidance and unwillingness to engage with or confront things that make her anxious or uncomfortable. It's also paid off wonderfully and in spades when she does finally confront that fear and is rewarded for it by an avalanche of love and support from her fans. It's one of the few moments in Ai's chapter where I think Spica really does well in conveying what a person like Ai gets out of being the 'oshi' in the oshi/fan relationship.
But this otherwise great moment is ruined by like… all that shit I said up there lmao. Spica is just laced through with this issue where moments that come so, so close to working and being really good are just marred by other issues in the text around it or trip themselves up in other ways. It's frustrating both because it comes so close to doing fresh and interesting things with the characters and because… I didn't want to dislike Spica! I was so, SO excited for it to come out and so willing to give it the BOTD even as summaries leaked and I was put off by the plot beats. But the more time I give to it in my brain and the more I try to engage with it in good faith, the more I come away frustrated and feeling like my time has been wasted.

I was reading through your Jacob meta, and came across one ask that really intrigued me - I COULD write it but your perspective is literally a drug to me. Let’s say Jacob WAS a woman (I think a cute name is Jocelyn), and she did imprint on Edward, wouldn’t he have…’imprinted’ back? Or at least felt a connection he doesn’t have control of?
What if Bella refused to intervene/forced Edward to give her chance or at least spend time with Jocelyn after seeing what it did to Sam and others? How would that go?
Anon's referring to this meta, written by @therealvinelle, actually but that doesn't matter.
This meta's also relevant.
Wouldn't Edward Imprint Back?
No.
By all accounts, imprints seem to be one way. Emily, while attracted to Sam, was horrified and confused per his actions towards Leah and initially rejected him.
Claire is a toddler who does not seem to be acting anything unlike your usual toddler who gets a somewhat regular babysitter once a week.
Kim was delighted her crush noticed her, but didn't seem to be any different than before and just thought this imprint thing was cool.
The only person who thinks imprints are a two-way street is Bella Swan, who finds the idea of soulmates to be very romantic, and convinced herself that being imprinted on means that your imprinter must be the person best suited to you in the whole wide world. They'll become whatever you want!
(And Jacob says what he says because he's imprinted and needs to not look like a pedophile to the Cullens who could in theory ditch him at any moment.
I'm her friend! I'm whatever she needs to me! We're meant to be together, Bella! Forever!)
Edward, who has less than 0 interest in Jocelyn here, is not so easily won over by "I'LL BE WHATEVER YOU WANT! TAKE ME, EDWARD, TAKE ME!"
What if Bella Insists?
Bella, in weeping terror, realizes that this means that Jocelyn is Edward's true soulmate. Bella will never be able to do what Jocelyn can, in becoming whatever Edward wants and needs in a particular moment. And no one wants or needs Bella Swan.
Bella, to preserve Edward's happiness, tells him to give it a try with Jocelyn. She clings to the hope that Edward might just need her as a friend but she knows deep in her heart that Jocelyn will always be the most important person to Edward.
Well, Edward doesn't want to break up with Bella at this point (we're post New Moon) and is infuriated that he's losing her because of stupid Jocelyn Black who he barely even knew existed.
...
I imagine Jocelyn has 'an accident' and Edward in 'his grief' turns to Bella for comfort. "Oh, my love, it seems my imprinter is gone. You must comfort me now. Somehow, we will get through this."
Otherwise, Edward frankly tells Jocelyn that what he needs from her is to get fucking lost and never bother him again. He has this thing going with Bella and she's just getting in the way.
Edward then tells Bella that Jocelyn went to live on a farm and found trule love with, er, someone else. Yes, Bella, she imprinted again/never imprinted on Edward. Funny thing, imprinting, isn't it?

How you met:
You were just a normal student at Nevermore.
Well… thats using “normal” loosely.
Most students fit into four categories: Fur, Fangs, Scales, Stoners.
You were nowhere near any of those.
You were a fairy walking around with mesmerizingly beautiful wings. (Thank goodness Weems special ordered your uniforms to have the slots in the back for your wings.)
As expected, this causes you to stand out… ironic how many outcasts there are in the school for outcast (but I digress).
Just about everyone knew you because of your extraordinary being. It’d be a surprise if someone didn’t know you.
But just because everyone knows you doesn’t mean everyone is automatically your friend. For you, those are few and far between.
It’s because of that reason exactly that you dreaded partner work in classes.
Thornhill had just announced a two-person project and you were among the many groaning and griping about the project.
As luck would have it, she assigned partners before hand.
“…and lastly, Xavier with y/n,” she finished reading off the pairings
You looked over to Xavier only to find him already looking back at you.
The two of you exchanged small smiles before turning back to Thornhill as she finished explaining the project.
The rest is history✨✨✨
Tumblr media
How you got together:
It had been a few months since you and Xavier got paired for Thornhill’s project.
Much to your surprise, he continued talking to you and hanging out with you when the project was finished.
“Y/n!” Xavier called out to you after Thornhill’s class one day. You two had just gotten your A for the project and you had figured Xavier would leave you behind the second it was done.
“Oh hey Xavier,” you said, a little surprised with him joining you in your walk to lunch. “Everything okay?”
He lightly laughed as his brow scrunched ever so slightly. “Yeah..? Why do you ask?”
You shrugged your shoulders. “I didn’t think you’d want to still be my friend after finishing the work.”
He went from having a scrunched brow to a completely confused look. “Why wouldn’t I?” You looked down in slight embarrassment as you failed to find a good reason, opting to shrug your shoulders again. He laughs a bit again and puts his arm around your shoulders, leading you towards a different table than you usually sat at. “We’re eating with my other friends today, I think you’ll like them.” The former part of his words sounded more along the lines of a demand than it did a suggestion but you went with it anyways.
From that day on, you had gotten close to Enid, Wednesday (of course she wouldn’t admit it), Ajax, and Eugene.
All of that eventually lead to you and Enid (and consequently Wednesday) having a sleepover in their dorm.
“We should play truth or dare!” The energetic werewolf suggests the game suddenly.
“I don’t find the need to indulge in such childish games,” Wednesday says monotonously, continuing her typing at her desk.
You laugh a little as you respond to Enid, “I don’t see why not.”
She squeals as you move to sit with her on her bed. “Okay, I’ll ask first: truth or dare.”
You considered your options, also thinking about what Enid has the potential of making you do if you chose dare. “Truth.”
She smiles sinisterly. “Do you have a crush on anyone?”
You feel your heart drop to your toes. Had she caught on to your recent changes in behavior? Seen the small glances you had tossed across the room? Been able to hear your heart beat louder when you were near him?
“I don’t-” you start only to be interrupted.
“Just admit your oh-so-obvious feelings for Xavier, y/n. Everyone can see it, no sense in hiding it,” Wednesday interjects.
You feel your face flush and your wings give small flutters at the thought of you with Xavier.
You hadn’t realized when it had began. All you knew was that one day you started smiling at every text you received from him, looking forward to seeing him laugh at another one of Enid’s silly gossip stories, feeling your heart as well as your wings flutter every time your name fell from his lips.
You sigh in defeat. “Fine, I do like Xavier. But what am I supposed to do about it?”
”SO glad you asked,” Enid says getting up and reaching under her bed. She pulled out a poster board that says, “The Simple Plan of Getting Xavier and Y/n Together.”
You almost laughed seeing the cheesy decorations surrounding the board.
“I have been waiting for the perfect time to set my master plan in motion,” Enid smiles. “When better to start than now?”
She explains the plan, telling you about the party some other students were holding the coming up weekend.
“If we can get enough people to join in and play spin-the-bottle, I already found someone with telekinesis that can make the bottle land on you and Xavier every time one of you two spin!” she finishes explaining.
“And you’re sure this will work because..?” you ask skeptically.
“I may or may not have overheard Ajax talking to Xavier and Xavier may or may not have admitted to having a crush on you and he may or may not have used your name when admitting his crush,” she says, failing to control her smile.
Your heart and wings flutter how they do every time you imagine you two being together. “Are you- are you sure it was me? I mean I’m sure there’s plenty of other girls with the name ‘y/n’ in this school. He could’ve been talking about anyone for all we know.”
”I’ve heard the names of every student in this school, you manage to be the only y/n I’ve heard of,” Enid assures you.
You continue to hesitate as you think over everything that could happen. Finally, you decide the risk would be worth the reward. “Fine, I’ll do it.”
Fast forward a couple of days and you, Xavier, and a good bit of other students were sitting in a circle, an empty bottle in the middle of you all. You sat next to Xavier, the telekinetic student Enid was paying to control the bottle on your turns sat across from him, and everyone else was dispersed about.
After a few minutes, your turn has come. With a shaky hand, you spun the bottle as best you could.
As Enid told you, the bottle quickly stopped directly pointing at Xavier.
Xavier must have seen the nervousness on your face.
“You don’t have to if your not comfortable-” he starts, only for you to quickly cut him off by slamming your lips against his own.
He wasted no time in returning the action, lips pushing against yours as much as you pushed against his.
“Get a room!” one of the various students exclaimed jokingly, making you two quickly pull away from each other with slightly heavy breathing, eyes not leaving each others.
The game finishes eventually and Xavier had offered to walk you back to your dorm, an offer you quickly accepted.
Standing outside your door, Xavier begins to speak. “Can I tell you something? If you say yes, you can’t let it change anything between us if you don’t… ‘agree’.”
You feel the flutters once again, turning towards him and nodding for him to continue.
He takes a deep breath and gently grabs your hands. “There no point in tip-toeing around this so I’ll just rip the bandaid off: I like you. Like, really like you. And tonight… well tonight just made my feelings so much more intense. If you don’t like me back that’s fine, but I needed to tell you before it ate at my heart anymore than it already has.” His eyes never leave yours as he admits his feelings to you.
You stood there staring at him in shock. He takes your silence as rejection, smiling sadly as he nods and lets go of your hands.
Right as he turns to leave, you snap back to reality (oop-there goes gravity-).
“Wait!” you exclaim as you grab his hand and pull him back to facing you. “When I didn’t respond, I didn’t mean it as me-not-liking-you-back-and-I-don’t-know-how-to-tell-you silence. I meant it as holy-crap-the-guy-I-like-likes-me-back-and-I-don’t-know-how-to-tell-him silence.” He let’s out a small laugh at your ramble of a confession.
“So… what does this mean?” he asks after a moment of quiet between the two of you.
“What do you want it to mean?” you ask back.
The smile that follows makes you feel butterflies in your stomach, them increasing in rapidity as he places one hand on your cheek, pulling you into another sweet kiss.

Stuff for while you’re dating:
PAINTING DATESSS
If you know how to paint, you both spend time in his shed painting different scenes and portraits with each other. If you don’t know how to paint, you often hang out with him in his shed, doing your own thing while unknowingly being his model for slot her masterpiece.
Dude’s love language is gift giving and quality time, no I will not elaborate.
idk about y’all but mine is biting when I’m super comfortable with someone so if you’re just like me, he probably tends to have random bite marks wherever you decided to strike and if someone asks he just 🤷‍♂️ and moves on.
Steal his hoodies (tucking your wings into them to they’ll stay on), he will love seeing you in them💕 (bonus points if you’re way smaller than him, it’s adorable)
Naps? Yes. Elaboration? No.
You’re probably his date to all the secret parties he attends.
Please play with his hair after he has another less-than-pleasant vision, he will sleep so much better.
I feel like he’d probably be really good at makeup since he’s a really good artist so let him do your eyeliner every now and again.
“Can I touch your wings?” is a question you’ve often heard in your life, annoying you just as much. But he asks every now and again and you can’t help but let him.
Is amazed with your abilities.
Winter-based powers? Naturally cold? Perfect, let him warm you up. Plant-based powers? Grow him a flower and he’ll press into a bookmark. Electric-based powers? Nothing can shock him more than the night you started dating him hun, rest assured you won’t hurt him.
Idk what nicknames he’d call you but they’d probably be based around your abilities.
You go to his house on holidays, especially when his dad can’t be bothered to stay home with his son for a few days.
Give him any amount of affection and he’ll return it ten-fold 💙

I have a theory as to why Toby was chosen and why it didn't call for Jim or go to Draal like in Unbecoming.
What if it wasn't bound to timelines and remembers those two being Trollhunters, remembers being destroyed by the Arcane Order and sort of put back together by Douxie and Krel?
What if, because of these things, it chooses Toby this time because he sacrificed himself to protect both humans and trolls? Jim undid EVERYTHING and was willing to let those who died to save the world mean nothing. Hell Toby's last were was "I didn't think, I became." (or something like that I dont remember its been a few weeks since I watched it)
Toby was willing to die to protect everyone and Jim was unable to honor that, so the amulet chose Toby as its successor. Jim was alright with bringing back Bular, Gunmar and evil Morgana for one person. He was even willing to let Enrique, who Claire loves A LOT, get kidnapped by goblins again but not be the one who has the power to save him from the Darklands!
idk the ending bothered me but I had this thought last night before clonking out from whiskey but its what makes sense to me as to why Toby was chosen instead of Jim
this... is actually a really cool theory, damn! :0 the amulet "remembering" timelines could totally make sense!! i also was very bothered by the ending tbh, that shit was wack-- but this!!! is something i very much like, hella good theory anon!! (i doubt such careful thought was put into it by the actual writers lmfao but that's what we have fanon for at least wjdjssdejwsrtkih--)
jim: *reverses time*
the amulet of daylight: and i took that personally

Note
The wildest thing to me about the Justin/Claire engagement is that this kid just turned 18, has literally 0 world experience and is expected to be the head of a whole family. I know he's been indoctrinated into the cult so they've been teaching him what he should and should not do but the little everyday things I don't think they'll be ready for. I know the Duggars don't care and just want more grandchildren in the cult and one less mouth to feed at home but it's still crazy to me.
In the fundamentalist world, getting married is a symbol of adulthood. For them, being a spouse equals being taken seriously as an adult in their church and in their social circles. It’s not that young relationships can’t work, (there are always dozens of comments on the Duggars’ facebook posts with their specific exceptions telling us this) it’s that marriages have a much better shot at being healthy and fulfilling when two mature adults - who truly know who they are, and who truly know who each other are - commit to being life partners.
Justin and Claire will probably be fine as long as they stick to their fundamentalist script.. no need to really know yourself if you’re most committed to finding contentment with fulfilling a role (wife, husband. It’s sad to see for those of us who have been in relationships within religion like this, and especially for those of us who have found more fulfilling relationships and self love outside of the confines of religion. The Duggars definitely believe their way is most fulfilling... and Justin and Claire don’t know anything else and have no reason to think they’re not making the best choice for the most fulfilling life.
But these young couples who barely know each other make vows to play their role for better or for worse rather than love that other person for exactly who they are. What the fundamentalists take from their children is the gift of being able to look someone in the eye, knowing the best and the worst of them, and committing to love them, with the other person doing the same for you. That is the most sad part of it all to me.
Thanks for inspiring my ramble, anon!
-Em
