California voters will decide next year on a referendum that could overturn a landmark new state law setting worker conditions and minimum wages up to $22 an hour for fast-food employees in the nation’s largest state.
Chipotle, Starbucks, Chick-fil-A, McDonald’s, In-N-Out Burger and KFC-owner Yum! Brands each donated $1 million to Save Local Restaurants, a coalition opposing the law. Other top fast-food companies, business groups, franchise owners, and many small restaurants also have criticized the legislation and spent millions of dollars opposing it.
The measure, known as the FAST Act, was signed last year by California Gov. Gavin Newsom and was set to go into effect on January 1. On Tuesday, California’s secretary of state announced that a petition to stop the law’s implementation had gathered enough signatures to quality for a vote on the state’s 2024 general election ballot. (via Ohio Chick-fil-A owner allegedly drove 400 miles to abuse teen)
An Ohio Chick-fil-A owner - Stacy Lee Austin, 49 of Belmont - has been arrested after authorities say he drove more than 400 miles south to North Carolina to meet a 15-year-old he met online, reportedly broke into the family's home and allegedly molested the child.
Inside the home where the child lives, deputies reported, they found Austin’s underwear in a bathroom trash can along with some of the child's clothes.
A preliminary investigation by detectives revealed and while the suspect was at the victim’s home, he performed sexual activities with the child, the sheriff's office wrote in a news release.
if you’re keeping track...
Oh never mind, it’s always the same thing. The religious zealots that want to “protect the kids” are actually seriously harming the kids.

Conservatives turning on Chick-Fil-A for "going woke" is literally the funniest fucking thing I have ever seen, oh my god.
Friendly reminder that this is the same company that regularly donated to anti-LGBTQ "charities" until 2019

(via Chick-Fil-A Restaurant Required To Pay Workers In Legal Tender, Not Chicken Tenders - Wonkette)
In July of this year, a Chik-Fil-A franchisee in Hendersonville, South Carolina, tried to save some money by asking "volunteers" to come work at their store directing customers to their new Drive Thru Express in exchange for chicken dinners.
"We are looking for volunteers for our new Drive Thru Express! Earn 5 free entrees per shift (1 hr) worked," a Facebook post read, "Message us for details."
then
Now, instead of saving a few bucks, franchise owner Joel Benson will be required to pay all of his "volunteers" in actual, non-edible money. The Labor Department ordered him this week to pay $235 in back pay to seven workers — on top of, we can assume, the five chicken entrees they were given at the time — as paying them in chicken was a violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Imagine that!
and
In addition to the backpay, this particular Chick-Fil-A is also being fined $6,450 in civil penalties for violating child labor laws by allowing three minors to operate a trash compactor, which is also illegal. While people under 18 can work, there are laws regulating what kind of work they are allowed to do, and operating a trash compactor is not one of the things they are allowed to do.
don’t go there - this entire company sucks in every way

The storefront of a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Toronto was recently tagged with graffiti that calls out the family-run chicken chain for its history of supporting anti-LGBTQ+ groups.
The Chick-fil-A located at 336 Queen Street West was the site of the vandalism, in which the message "gay conversion camps" was sprayed across the exterior of the restaurant.
Chick-fil-A has notoriously come under fire for its support of anti-LGBTQ+ groups in the past, and is no stranger to controversy surrounding its philanthropic practices.
The opening of the first Chick-fil-A restaurant in Toronto in 2019 received widespread criticism and was marked by protests primarily led by local organizations like The 519. [...]

Fox News thinks a Trump visit to Chick-fil-A is just as newsworthy as the GOP Arizona Supreme Court re-instating a near total ban on abortion from 1864.
Of course MAGA media would prefer that voters not think about the half century of Republican anti-abortion activism which led to the unpopular 2022 Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization decision by the Republican US Supreme Court which allowed states like Arizona to impose extreme restrictions on abortion.
Fox News is barely covering the Arizona Supreme Court’s decision to enforce a near-total ban on abortion in the state, a move that could have a dramatic impact on the 2024 election and is widely seen as “politically harmful” for Republicans. In fact, the network has deemed former President Donald Trump's stop at a Chick-fil-A in Georgia a comparably newsworthy event, devoting slightly more coverage to Trump’s fast food visit than to Arizona’s draconian abortion law ruling.  [ ... ] In total, Fox News has devoted 26 minutes of coverage to Trump’s Chick-fil-A visit, 2 minutes more coverage than the network has given to Arizona’s abortion decision. The comparison in coverage is even more notable given the abortion ruling happened Tuesday while Trump’s visit to Chick-fil-A was on Wednesday — theoretically giving the network more time and opportunity to cover the former. Fox figures heaped praise on Trump for his visit, highlighting his “mingling with an adoring crowd,” while an on-screen chyron read “Trump’s ease with voters on display at Chick-fil-A.”
If you're at somebody's place and they're watching Fox "News", ask if you could instead watch The Weather Channel so you can get a weather update on the 2026 solar eclipse in Iceland. Almost any interruption of MAGA media would contribute to a decline in the level of far right brainwashing in the US.

Hello customers. Owner of the blog here. Little serious post regarding the asks about if I support Chick-Fil-A's homophobia. No, I do not support that. Yes, I am religious, but I am also non-bianary and pansexual. I understand the confusion, I just wanted to be silly and make a gimmick blog of a popular fast food chain. Thank you and have a nice day,
- The Manager
