i love creature batman. no body just his pointy ears and eyes. he’s not even human. he can probably fly. he makes no noise when he moves. how he procures a seemingly endless supply of human children is a total mystery, but they seem to love him, so rescue efforts are usually ignored.

Amphibiuary 2024 Day 16: Swim

When I finished yesterday's drawing, I thought 'I should have done an aquatic frog, that would have made more sense' and I saw the prompt for today and realised it wasn't too late!! This is a Cape Platanna, or Cape clawed frog, which is an incredibly rare aquatic frog that you would NOT find in domestic aquariums!

This guy has been cooking for a while, colouring by hand is such a time consuming process lol. But I finally finished!

Here he is from other angles! I'm really happy with how he turned out, especially that mask! That thing is layered.

i've seen vampire bruce stories, and i've seen bruce is not actually a vampire but everyone else thinks he is stories, and now i'm just thinking a human bruce with his very batty(Iliterally) vampire children hanging around under his cape like adorable little terrifying shadow creatures whose eyes glow in the dark

#just lil tiny claws gripping onto his cape that can deflect bullets #or maybe he has perches on his back his children can hang onto when they go under the cape #he flashes people in the sense that he typically curls his cape around him and then just opens it up randomly to show off his children #kind of like a drug dealer but like look its friggin bats #i just think bruce w his children as bats is adorable #bruce would pet and cuddle the shit out of his floofly lil gremlin children #they probably scare tf out of the JL lol just dark shadows with glowing eyes peeking out at them from bruce's cape during meetings #everyone in the JL probably think hes a vampire but he's just a guy that coincidentally adopts a lot of vampire children #batkids love their human father as much as they fear for his mortality #haha just thinking about if bruce gets close to death batkids would probably freak tf out and try to turn him #but other batkids would remind them that bruce wouldn't have wanted it so they just wait to hear updates instead #well damn things got a bit dark there #bruce wayne #batman #batfam #batfamily

really not beating the brainrot allegations but genuinely this line has been haunting my brain for ages

#rolling with difficulty #vrla rwd #mrsn rwd #well not technically but close enough #asto stop drawing the same two goddamn characters challenge (difficulty: impossible)#technically the original line was 'i see mr-sn' but this way .. works better? flows better? its 4am words are failing me #also took some artistic liberties with the hypnagoug design bc i think austin's intention was that only its face changes #to match your nightmares #but everyone started describing stuff thats much more elaborate and he didnt stop them so #specifically he says the clawed arms and 'a large gaping mouth' stay constant but i am just gonna Choose Not To See that part #look theres no way for me to fit that into the design and make it work. its just not happening #i mean thank god for mr-sn's cape or else id have to figure out the logistics of attaching bony clawed arm to robot torso #(also why i strategically placed the rips on the cape so you cant see the arm underneath LMAO)#yeah after a certain point i was just like. ok how can i make the mr-sn hypnogoug as nasty and unpleasant to look at as possible #so please let me know if this made you upset/lh bc im the one who drew it and *i* was very upset when drawing this #in hindsight hypnagoug mr-sn has lowkey nightmare animatronic from fnaf energy and i've been fully over my fnaf phase for like 6 years so #not sure how to feel about that #art I made

i've been playing through the leaked N64 prototype build of Dinosaur Planet (that rareware game that got turned into Starfox Adventures on the gamecube later) over the past couple nights and i gotta say... i think people gave the gibberish alien voice acting in Adventure a bit more hate than it deserved? like don't get me wrong, it WAS hilariously awkward and impossible to take seriously, but i'd take that shit ANY day over having to listen to... a handful of british people doing the most inscrutable attempts at racist accents i've maybe EVER heard in a video game??? like holy FUCK it's bad y'all. in fact the entire chunk of the game in Swapstone Circle is pretty much fully unsalvageable. the music, the iconography, the way the NPCs talk and are dressed, the literal most basic tropes of the storyline itself in that area... good grief, it's no wonder that entire chunk of the game was cut from the final product. absolutely wild that anyone at Rare thought that shit was okay to include, even 20+ years ago

#buny text #dinosaur planet #the game itself IS like. incredibly impressive for an N64 title #even in its incomplete and janky state #and i AM having fun for the most part (when it's not crashing/softlocking/etc)#but i am also very glad to be done with that area #i was like 'oh boy i get to play as krystal again yay'#and then i saw the totem poles and went 'uh oh'#and then i got close to one and the dynamic music changed to a shitty sampled chant and i was like 'OH NO'#and THEN i came back from cape claw and met the lightfoots and it was like i was being hit with a sledgehammer repeatedly for 20 minutes #turns out some things left on the cutting room floor are there for a reason #rare made some of the best games of that entire decade but it sadly still couldn't save them from being painfully british game devs #with everything that entailed in the late 90s (random bursts of casual bigotry inserted for humor)#sorry these tags got away from me. hello. i hope your day is going well
