Cal Upsets Reigning Champion USC 3-2

Golden Bears Break Program Wins Record

PALO ALTO – It was a historic day for the third-seeded California beach volleyball team (27-8) as the Golden Bears upset second-seeded USC (28-4) in the second round of the Pac-12 Championship 3-2. Cal remains in the winner's bracket with its first 2-0 start in program history. Just the third win over the reigning national champion Trojans in school history, Thursday's victory was also the Bears' first win over a top-two seed in the conference tournament. If that weren't enough, they broke the program wins record with their 27th of the season and saw a handful of individual milestones reached as well. No. 3 Cal 3, No. 2 USC 2 A coin flip earlier in the week determined that the match would begin with the even pairs in the first flight, and they were near perfect. The court two pair of seniors Ainsley Radell and Ashley Delgado took down the Trojans handedly in the first set 21-14, and the court four pair of senior Lexi McKeown and sophomore Ella Dreibholz grinded out a tight 21-19 win to give the Bears the first two sets of the dual. The second set on both courts would go the Bears' way too, and aligned so perfectly that they earned the first two points of the dual within a minute's time. The four pair ran away with it 21-13 and the two pair earned another convincing win 21-16

This first flight saw three Bears reach career milestones as Radell picked up her 80th career win to move into second on the program's wins list and both McKeown and Dreibholz earned their 50th win. With their backs against the wall, the Trojans responded in the only way they could – winning their court one and three matchups to tie the dual at 2-2. It would all come down to court five. On five, junior Brooke Buchner and sophomore Alex Young-Gomez won the first set 21-19 but fell in the second 21-14 to force a tiebreaker. The two teams traded sideouts through the first ten points, but the Bears managed to hold serve a few times late to gain the advantage. Up 14-13, Cal held off USC on its sideout attempt with Buchner finding the dig and the kill to seal the dual. 1 Megan Kraft and Laynie Maple (USC) def. 𝑺𝒆𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝒈𝒂𝒎𝒆

Bokuto

You were running a bit late to your boyfriend’s game, fighting a bunch of people just to enter the gymnasium and get next to the court. This was the very first time you will see him play in a official match against other school, and even if you knew that there were lots of people, it still surprised you seeing this crowd for a high school volleyball game. However, you were more than happy that they were coming to cheer Bokuto on, everyone deserves to see him enjoy something so brightly, but man they were making it hard to arrive there.

Once you came close you notice that Bokuto was uncharacteristically quiet, just jumping up and down before stretching his arms. Everyone in the team seem worried about it, until Akaashi notices you, pointing in your direction as he talks to his captain.

“BABY! YOU ARRIVED!” he came sprinting in your direction, visibly happier now

“Hi babe” you chuckle as he pulls you into his chest

“I’m so excited right now!! Since this is your first time in a tournament, I’m going to be extra awesome today!!”

“You’re always awesome babe” you caress his cheek lovingly, seeing how his hair magically starts going upwards “Are you nervous?”

“A little, its Itachiyama, they are too good. But now that you’re here I feel invincible!! I CAN DO ANYTHING RIGHT NOW!” he then looks at you, his smile growing bigger once he saw what you were wearing. Not even the sun was as bright as he was right now “Baby!! Is that my spare jersey?”

“Well, I need to let people know that I’m supporting such an amazing player that happens to be my boyfriend. You don’t mind, right?”

“Me? Minding seeing you in my clothes? Never! Can you wear it all afternoon?”

“Of course I can”

“YAY!” he takes you in his arms, spinning both of you around and causing a lot of eyes turn in your direction “Gotta go now, can I have a good luck kiss?”

“Since when you need luck for volleyball? You are good” you tease him, making him smirk at you

“True, I’m amazing, aren’t I? But I still want a kiss” he suddenly grabs your waist and pulls you into his body, pressing his lips on yours. After a few seconds he pulls away, smirking even more at your red face, the kiss was passionate enough to make people uncomfortable, but not too much to be a full make out “That´s better, gotta let people know that you’re mine. See you after the game. LOVE YOU!”

Akaashi

Today was the first official game with Akaashi being the captain of Fukurodani, the first official game in where Akaashi was going to play without Bokuto and the rest of the third years by his side, the first official match that he will have to play without having you as his manager and help him to calm down. These past days you have notice that he was getting much quieter and fidgety than he has ever been, but you just let him be in hopes they were just some random thoughts.

You arrived with Bokuto by your side, both of you made a promise to not tell Akaashi that you were coming to cheer for him, you blaming the chaotic university life while Bokuto said to have a try out for a pro team just that day. You could tell that he was sad by the news despite him telling you that it was understandable, and even if it broke your heart (and Bokuto´s) seeing him so nervous, you still went through it. That was until you saw him in the court with a blank facial expression, not listening to a single word people were telling him; so while Bokuto went to the bathroom, you decided to end your boyfriends misery

[You] “Hey” “You look like you’re about to pass out” “I’m right below your cheering section”

[Kei <3] “Don’t move, I’m coming”

And a few seconds later he was right in front of you, immediately putting his head in the crock of your neck. If it wasn’t clear that he was nervous before, the sudden PDA was more than enough to worry you. You play with the hair in the back of his neck as you hug him, making your breath slower so he follows it to calm himself down.

“Overthinking again babe?” you ask once he calm down

“Yeah, I never thought I would miss Bokuto-san so much, every practice went smoothly” he answers as he pulls away

“Well, the pressure is bigger now. Are you better now?”

“Yeah, what are you doing here? I thought you had extra classes today”

“It was a little white lie, I wanted to surprise you. I didn’t know you would react like this, I’m sorry” you say making his face scrunch in a slight annoyance, so you went to hug him as a sorry

“You made me worry for nothing”

“Sorry…you know that you’re just as good whether Bokuto is here or no, right? You are an amazing setter”

“I’m not outstanding or anything”

“But you still are good. If it helps, Bokuto came with me too, so we are here to cheer you up no matter what happens” you hear him sigh as he mutters something, clearly much calmer now “I’m always going to be here if you need me, no matter what”

“I know, thank you for the surprise, even though you lied to me for it” he chuckles when you hit his arm “Thank you for calming me down”

“Of course, go to be amazing, ok?”

“Ok, see you and Bokuto-san after the game”

Kenma

You were looking at Kuroo annoyed as he talks to one of the ex-third years of Karasuno, someone called Daichi according to his scream, while you were waiting for the Nekoma match to start. He had offer himself to come with you to your first tournament so you can watch your boyfriend play; since you just started properly dating him a few weeks after his first Nationals, you didn’t particularly care much about seeing the sport before. Kuroo however, was making things harder for you by talking to a bunch of old players and starting conversations with them, leaving alone in the mass of people screaming.

“If you wanted to surprise me, having Kuroo come with you wasn’t the brightest idea” you hear the calm voice of your boyfriend behind you. You turn around only to find him smiling softly at you, a teasing look in his eyes

“And why is that?” you ask pretending to be offended

“Well, he´s the tallest person here, it’s hard not to notice him. Besides, I could hear his scream for the ex-Karasuno from the bench, he completely revealed your position” he chuckles at your face

“Well, I didn’t want to come here alone, you know that I’ve never been here before! Plus, he wanted to come too!” you pout slightly “I wanted to surprise you”

“I’m still happy that you’re here, even if you plan completely backfired you”

“KENMA!” you whine “I should have expected it, you’re playing against Karasuno, of course someone from the team will be here”

“See, you just needed to think a little more” he jokes squishing your cheek

“You´re the worst, and here I am with your jersey and all” you scoff playfully too

“You know I love you”

“You seem pretty calm, is it because of Hinata-kun? You always tell me how you like playing against him”

“Yeah, it’s fun playing with him. But now that you´re here I feel way more excited” he smiles at you once more before Yamamoto screams his name, calling him to get started “I´ll come here as soon as the match ends, gotta go to be a captain, I guess”

“Go cap, maybe we can have our own fun after” you tease him, making a blush appear on his ears

“We definitely will, see you”

Suna

Walking out of the bathroom you are trying to find your way to where Kita and Aran are waiting. You didn't knew if he expected you here, considering that the tournament this time was happening on the other side of the country; and while you have been dating for a while now, he still was knew to this whole relationship thing and didn't want to force you to come.

Everyone who looks at you will immediately notice that you were his girlfriend, considering that you were wearing the only Inarizaki t-shirt that only he had access to. You have already encounter lots of annoyed stares from other girls

“You are here?” you hear from beside you, finding your boyfriend looking at you up and down

“I am”

“I didn't knew you were coming”

“That was the plan babe”

“And you are wearing my t-shirt” he says still surprised

“You have working eyes, well done babe!” you joke getting close to him “What's going on?”

“Sorry, I'm a little shock right now, you look great with my name on you” he quickly recovers, looking at you with a mix of shyness and playfulness

“Thanks, I wanted to come and see you win”

“Nah, I think I will lose. You can't just come here, wear my clothes and expect me to not just look at you. Atsumu will kill me and it will be your fault” he says pulling you closer

“You are such a drama queen, I'm sure you'll be fine” you roll your eyes, making him chuckle

“I might need a good luck kiss, maybe like that I won't miss a spike and make Atsumu piss off” he says getting closer to your lips, suddenly both of you forgetting that you weren't alone

“Well, I want you to stay alive” you finally bring him in, closing the space between you in a deep kiss. Once he was satisfied with it he pulls away, smirk appearing

“While I love how you look with my clothes on” he gets closer to your ear, whispering “I think I will love it more with them on my bedroom floor”

“SUNA RINTAROU!” you scream as your face get beet red, him laughing happily as he walks away

kageyama hadn't been too considerate about others, that is until he met you. everybody thought it was because of hinata and the team he became kinder but the credits were all yours. love really changes people.

he first saw you shopping with your friends at coach ukai's shop after school. he recognized your uniform, after all it was his school's - he ought to have noticed it, but couldn't remember your face. of course he was too shy to go up to you, so he preferred to admire you from afar. when one of your friends nudged you and pointed at him, he immediately turned his back and started running away with bright red cheeks.

of course you knew who he was, and how much of jerk he can be (at least that's what people said.) after you caught him staring, you decided to talk to him later that week. it was hard to catch him alone, always busy with practice or dealing with hinata but you managed to find him next to the vending machine, drinking his milk.

"are you really drinking plain milk?" you asked with a smile and he definitely looked surprised to see you. he quickly nodded his head and turned back to most likely escape again but stopped when you tugged at his jacket.

"i saw you staring that day, you know? why?" his cheeks had grown a pinkish colour already, not used to someone giving him so much positive (he'd like to think so) attention.

"i just, thought you were... you're really pretty and i saw you were from karasuno so i..." he couldn't put words together because of your intense but kind gaze, which made him feel warmer on his cheeks. his hands felt sweaty, he wasn't used to feeling like this.

"i'm y/n, if you'd like to meet." you smiled and reached your hand out. he looked at your hand for a few seconds, trying to register a response.

"kayegama tobio." he shook your hand and finally smiled, even if it was very little. you saw it and that's what mattered.

after that interaction, you were always around him somehow. you tried out for the volleyball team but failed, so you asked him to teach you volleyball after practice. you always asked him to eat with you at lunch and eventually became friends with hinata and the rest of the team through tobio. yeah, you also started to use his first name with him after a few weeks. he loved hearing you say it so casually. he never thought that you liked him or anything. you were just being friendly, that was all.

"tobioooo!" you squished his face after calling for him too many times. "you keep zoning out, have you been sleeping well?" you actually sounded worried about him. having someone that seriously cares about him felt great.

"yeah, i was just thinking about something." he mumbled under his breath.

"was it about how much you like me?" you grinned. his eyes widened, "no! why would you think that?!" he said louder than he would want to and closed his mouth with his hand.

"haha!! look at your cheeks! you're so red right now, i was just kidding. relax." you patted his shoulder and giggled at his reaction. see, only a friend. that's what you thought of him.

"were you, really just kidding..?" he asked, not looking at your face and choosing to look at the floor instead.

"yeah? why?" you furrowed your brows.

"because, i don't want to ruin our friendship but, i think i like you. like like you." he talked, voice barely above a whisper.

"what?" he was already reggetting his decision. "did you mean that? are you serious? that's not something to joke about." he didn't see a reason for you to blush right now. hinata was right about calling him oblivious all the time. he nodded his head, still staring blankly at the floor.

you touched his chin, making him flinch a little at the unexpected contact and pushed his face up to look at him in the eyes.

"i like you too." with the way you said it, so calm and straight, he thought you were the one joking.

"really?"

"yes, really! you're so stupid tobio." you smiled and pinched his cheek. "don't say that.." he pouted, making you smile.

"i was kidding. about calling you stupid, not about liking you!" he put his hand on yours that was still holding his cheek and pulled it in front of his mouth to plant a little kiss on the back of it.

"i really like you." you chuckled, "i really really like you too." his grin was wide enough to reach his ears at this point. and you both were too busy to notice hinata watching you two from afar.

"kageyama!! you finally confessed? well done bro, i'm proud of you!" he shouted happily. he had been rooting for you since the first day tobio told him about you. he was also happy he won the bet with tsukishima. (the latter didn't believe he actually confessed until he saw you two hand in hand and still grinning at each other.)

Cal: Set up the tent, bbq station and tried to join Mare cause she looks really nice in her swimwear. (Got bullied out of the court by Evangeline)😔

Kilorn: Swimming with the fishes, only resurfacing when his hungry. Comforted Cal when Evangeline bullied him out of the volleyball court. 🐠

Farley: Played volleyball with Mare and Evangeline, never came back when the food was ready.🥙

Shade: Wanted to play volleyball, but realized no one was cooking the food. Had a great time with Farley and he kept sneaking the best portion onto her plate.👨‍🍳

It’s one of the rare times that the Negotiator (The law students) and the Resolute (Anakin’s band of STEM majors) are able to meet in the same area, and have time for a shared meal with their hectic schedules. The y’re in the mess hall of the Law College because Obi-Wan swears it has better tea (and really, it does). Obi-Wan chose one of the tables in the middle with enough space for Waxer, Boil, Rex, Fives, Anakin, Ahsoka, and Cody to sit at. It was nice to be able to catch up with his fellow siblings and cousins, face to face, rather than through the group chat and TikToks.

Ahsoka was a freshman physics major that Obi-Wan’s adopted younger brother, Anakin, had become a mentor for her in making sure she wasn’t getting stressed out with her new workload. Cody later learned that Ahsoka had a girlfriend, Barriss on the volleyball team that they both played for. It was sweet, and reminded him of Bly and Aayla.

“So the homework from professor Ti is driving me up a wall,” Ahsoka said, through a bite of salad to Anakin.

“Did you ask Cal for help?” Anakin responded, looking up from his Mech-E textbook.

“He was busy helping another student with the homework and, well, Barriss and I had scheduled lunch…”

“Have you emailed Cal about it then?” Obi-Wan asked.

“No…”

“Ahsoka, I can’t be the only one that helps you with your physics homework, that’s what the TA’s are there for, right Obi-Wan?”

Obi-Wan hummed, “He’s right, you know.”

Ahsoka sighed, “Fine.”

Cody watched out of the corner of his eye as Ahsoka pulls her strawberry pink laptop out to write an email. He took a sip of his evening coffee, sighed, before getting his own laptop out. Cody was working on a paper for his Ethics of Arts, which focused on the potential implications of A.I. when he heard Obi-Wan speak.

“Well, I need to get to a meeting with a pre-Law student, so I’ll see you in a bit.”

Cody looked up to see Ahsoka get kissed on the forehead, Anakin’s curls, and then himself?

He froze.

“Ah.” Obi-Wan, face flushed and ears pink, before looking at his watch, “I better get going.”

Cody blinked. ‘What just happened?’

“Did he just?” Boil said.

“So it would seem…” Waxer replied.

They watched as Obi-Wan ran from the hall.

“Should I…?” Cody started.

“Run after him?” Anakin replied, “Then yes, yes you should.”

“I’ll be right back, guys.”

Cody slammed his laptop shut and bolted after Obi-Wan, the ginger’s forest green sweater still visible in the distance. He knows his best friend is worth it, and if he gets a new boyfriend out of it, then it's worth it, right?

UCSC's mascot is the banana slug (specifically, Ariolimax dolichophallus). In 1970, volleyball team member David Van Cleve created the mascot "Banana Slugs" for the UCSC volleyball team. He was concerned that, as sports began to gain in popularity at the institution, a team name or mascot did not exist. His roommate, Bob Grindeslug (no relation), silk-screened uniform shirts for the entire volleyball team in preparation for the All-Cal tournament that year.

omfg ok so last year we'd stay up all night (like to 5 AM) just watching movies. I think we've seen every DC movie/tv show( animated and live action), M:I movie and MCU movie up to NWH. Also I am NEVER testing her speakers again I swear that damaged my hearing or something lol

#7 Cal Advances to NCAA Quarterfinal

Bears Defeat No. 10 Long Beach State 3-1

GULF SHORES, Ala. – For the second consecutive year, the Golden Bears are moving on to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Championship. The No. 7 California beach volleyball team defeated No. 10 Long Beach State 3-1 for its second NCAA Championship win in program history. The Bears also defeated Long Beach in last year's opening round, and to draw an even further parallel from 2023, Cal will now face No. 2 UCLA in a quarterfinal rematch. With all five pairs playing at the same time, the action moves quickly at Gulf Shores. Cal (22-13) claimed three first sets in a span of five minutes to swing the momentum in its favor. Soon after, the Bears had a 2-0 lead with wins on courts five and two. Playing on court five for the first time together, junior Ella Dreibholz and graduate student Lara Boos earned the first point of the dual in dominant fashion, 21-11, 21-6. Dreibholz posted a double-double with 19 kills and 13 digs. Her kills mark paced the team and her .720 hitting percentage ranked second. The rookie/veteran pairing of freshman Emma Donley and graduate student Kendall Peters succeeded in its NCAA Championship debut, earning a 21-17, 21-9 win on court two. Donley had an errorless, 10-0-16 performance for a .625 hitting percentage to go along with a team-high five. Peters swung at a .722 clip with 14 kills and seven digs. Despite the Bears taking a 2-0 lead, the momentum began trending towards Long Beach (28-10) after it took the first set on courts one and three and forced a third set on five. Long Beach State quickly cut the lead in half with a win on court one. Needing to win one third set, the court four duo of Jenna Colligan and Portia Sherman jumped out to a commanding lead. The two sophomores got to dual point with a powerful cross-court attack from Colligan and a wide attack from the Beach on the following rally to seal the victory for California. Colligan finished with 16 kills and eight digs and Sherman added 14 kills, five digs, and a pair of aces.

bro I over ate again... Except this time I'm gonna gain a lot of weight because instead of doing PE my class won a donut party so instead of playing volleyball I sat around and ate a donut! As well as school breakfast and lunch! Then pizza for dinner! And Starbucks, croissants, and ice cream from dessert! Total cals around 2k and only like 1.5k burnt ummm... Tomorrow is Saturday so at least I can bedrot and starve :/

Iwaizumi is in a predicament.

When a bored Oikawa called him to ask if he wanted to go see a movie this afternoon, he agreed. When Oikawa had asked if it was alright if he invited some other people, Iwaizumi agreed to this as well and assumed that it would just be Hanamaki and Matsukawa.

What Oikawa had failed to mention is that, in addition to inviting his teammates, he had also invited you.

And this is how Iwaizumi ended up sitting beside you in the dark theater.

See, over the course of your three years at Aoba Johsai, you managed to become friends with the third-years on the school’s volleyball team. But, lately, the way Iwaizumi looked at you started to change.

A few weeks ago, on a random Monday, the ace thought you looked particularly cute. Immediately, Iwaizumi commenced panicking over the fact that he thought you, his friend, were cute. This led to a downward spiral and Iwaizumi eventually came to the conclusion that he had developed a crush on you. And this realization resulted in him acting bashfully whenever you are in the vicinity, which Oikawa has unfortunately picked up on.

As he sits shoulder-to-shoulder with you, he cannot help, but glance over at you every few minutes and each time he sees how entranced you are by the film. Your eyebrows are scrunched together, and your soft-looking lips are slightly parted. Iwaizumi begins to wonder how your lips would feel against his. How it would feel like to leave a trail of kisses across your jaw down to your neck…

As soon as this thought enters his head, Iwaizumi can sense his face growing red and he is grateful that the room’s dim lighting would prevent you from noticing this if you happened to look over at him.

After the movie finishes, you all head outside and the sun is shining brightly, a stark contrast to where you have all been sitting for the past two hours.

“Hey, a new cafe opened up a few streets over,” you remark as your group loiters at the entrance of the cinema. “Do you guys want to check it out?”

“Sorry, I can’t. I have plans,” Oikawa responds without hesitation as his eyes briefly flicker between you and Iwaizumi.

“I thought you didn’t have any plans for today?” you point out with a narrowed look.

“Well…” Oikawa trails off, seemingly at a loss for words. Then he suddenly snaps his fingers and proclaims, “It turns out that my sister needs someone to babysit Takeru in like an hour, so I volunteered.”

You shrug at the captain’s excuse before turning to face the others. “Are the rest of you free?”

“Actually, Matsu and Makki are helping me babysit,” Oikawa blurts out, throwing his arms over the shoulders of his fellow third-years.

“All three of you are babysitting one kid?” Iwaizumi inquires, his knowing glare directed at his childhood friend.

“Yes?” Makki says, but his response sounds more like a question than a definitive answer.

“Kids…” Matsukawa chimes in, though he looks somewhat confused. “Just one can be a handful.”

“I know that Iwaizumi doesn’t have any plans, Y/N. Why don’t you go together?!

You cast your gaze over at the wing spiker and quirk an eyebrow at him, as if silently asking if he is fine with this.

“Y-yeah, I’m free to go with you, Y/N,” Iwaizumi affirms, trying to come off as calm and collected as possible. It seems like forever since he last hung out with you one-on-one, and the prospect of spending some alone time with you excites him.

“Alright! You two have fun on your date!” Oikawa loudly exclaims with a roguish smirk. Before Iwaizumi can chastise the setter for his comment, he quickly scurries away, while simultaneously dragging Hanamaki and Matsukawa with him.

Iwaizumi watches the receding figures of his so-called friends, and he cannot believe they would do this to him. Well, that’s not true. A plot like this is obviously something Oikawa would scheme. And Makki and Matsu occasionally enjoy witnessing Iwa lose his cool. But this doesn’t prevent Iwaizumi from feeling betrayed right now.

How can they call this a date in front of you and then ditch him? Don’t they understand how awkward they’ve made this moment for him?

Fortunately, your light laughter pulls Iwaizumi back to reality and he gawks at your reaction.

“So, are you ready for our date?” you say with a playful gleam in your eye, which causes his heart rate to rapidly increase.

Your friend doesn’t know how to reply to this, so he ends up shyly answering your question with a question, “Is it a date?”

“Do you want it to be a date?”

Iwaizumi can assert with certainty that he wasn’t expecting the words coming out of your mouth to be accompanied by a scarlet blush and it gives him a glimmer of hope. He has been so scared to confess to you these past few weeks, but it seems that perhaps his feelings for you are reciprocated.

Therefore, despite still being a little nervous about doing so, he finds the courage to firmly state: “Yes.”

Summertime Silliness

Summer is around the corner! Which is why I created this fic! This fic is the sequel to @kayssweetdreams's birthday fic for me and my Easter fic called Eggs-celent Entertainment. Anyways, hope you enjoy!

Ah, summertime. According to Kaylo, this season was the perfect time for her to throw a party. Not just any party, but a beach party. And she made sure to invite all of her friends. She watched as everyone was already having a good time, the music playing loudly.

"Wow, I've never been to a beach before," NiGHTS said to Kaylo as they gazed at the waves. "It has an incredible view!"

"I know, right?" Kaylo replied with a bright smile as she licked her strawberry-flavored ice cream. "Fiona loves coming here! This is the same beach where she could visit her dolphin companion."

In the water, Fiona and Haoyu swam together. Sana and Eis also happened to be in the water as well, playfully splashing one another while laughing. Iben and her husband were watching their two children attempt to build a sand castle. Jose, Yuri, Cass, Attilio, Cal, and Lucy were all playing volleyball. Jackle and Debbie were lounging underneath an umbrella, enjoying popsicles.

Balan and Lance were both enjoying pina coladas while watching everyone. Mei applied sunscreen onto herself. Trisha Jane, Rebecca, and Bruce sipped on lemonade. Marina, Leo, and Emma were busy getting ice cream for themselves.

"Say, I could use a refreshing drink," NiGHTS said. "Where should I get one?"

"Try asking Balan and Lance," Kaylo suggested. "They can offer suggestions on what to drink."

"Great idea!" NiGHTS flew over to their two cousins, Balan and Lance. "Hey, you two? I'm in the mood for a refreshing beverage. What's on the menu?"

Balan removed the shades from his sunglasses. "We have plenty of options for you to choose," He said. "Lots of cold, refreshing drinks you can't refuse. You can have water, iced tea, or soda, if you please. Or you can try one of our refreshing smoothies. Though, do be mindful about the alcoholic beverages like the martini. If enough is consumed, it can make you tipsy."

"Hmm… I think I'll have the martini!" NiGHTS said.

"Do consider Balan's words, dear cousin," Lance advised. "We've all seen, under the influence, Reala has been."

"I think I'm better at holding my alcohol," NiGHTS assured as she watched Balan prepare them a glass of martini. "What can possibly go wrong?"

Sitting underneath a parasol, Aria saw her Nightmaren lover, Reala, approach with two smoothies, one for him and one for her. "I'd figured that I would give you something to drink," He said, handing it to her.

"Thanks," Aria said, taking her smoothie. "So how are you liking the beach?"

"It does have an impressive view of the sun," Reala said. "And the waves do make such relaxing—," He was then interrupted by the sound of…NiGHTS giggling. Aria and Reala turned to see the purple jester flying toward them…only to stumble onto the sand.

NiGHTS got up and slung an arm over their sibling's shoulder. "Awwww~! That proposal was beautiful!" They slurred to Reala, hiccuping. "Don't tell Reala this, but I drank threeeee martinis! The world is full of a bunch of bald, colorful sounds!" They sipped onto their fourth martini.

"NiGHTS, are you drunk?" Aria asked, amused. Reala facepalmed at his sibling's silliness.

"No, even better~!" NiGHTS giggled. "I'm reeeaallly tipsy~! Saaaay, when is the wedding happ'ning~?"

"We are not getting married," Reala said.

"If—hic—you saaaay sooo~!" NiGHTS giggled as they stumbled off.

Reala sighed. "I'd better get to them before they cause trouble." He then flew off to follow NiGHTS, leaving Aria to watch with curiosity and amusement.

"Pass that ball right over here," Attilio called to Jose, Yuri, and Cass. Jose nodded and hit the volleyball over to the other side. But before Attilio could hit, NiGHTS drunkenly flew in front of the clown, causing the volleyball to hit them on the head. "NiGHTS, are you okay?" Attilio bent down to look at the Nightmaren.

NiGHTS, however, giggled. "Looookiiiieeee," They slurred, pointing at Attilio. "A-A clooowwwnn-! Do a trick, pllleeeaaasssee~?"

"What's going on here?" Mei, Trisha Jane, Rebecca, and Marina asked as they approached where NiGHTS was.

"I think NiGHTS might be drunk," Yuri said. "They stumbled upon our game."

NiGHTS laughed while pointing at the seagulls that flew above. "Birdies~! Look Sana! They're ssssooooo silly~! That reminds me! Let me raise a bread!"

By then, everyone was listening to everything. Jackle, however, was bursting out laughing while Debbie was holding back laughter.

"Soooo, I wanna congrad'ate my brother on his plan to marry Aria and have dozens of babies with her!" NiGHTS said. "He looovveeesss her~! I know he does~! Sooo, to make this interesting, I hid $100 in Wizey's robes!" They giggled while everyone started to giggle. "If Reala can find it without making Wizey grouchy, he can keeep iiit~!"

"How many martinis did NiGHTS drink?" Iben asked Aria, amused.

"That's their fourth one," Aria replied. "They've had three."

"Goodness me," Balan said with a chuckle. "Tipsy already, I see."

Reala eventually flew over to NiGHTS. "I'm taking you back home," He said, grabbing them. "You've had too much to drink."

NiGHTS fell to the ground and began to sing:

"Nightmare is so stupid

Wizey is so stupid

Nightopia and Wonderworld

Both are not stuuupiiid!"

Everyone bursted out laughing. Reala resisted the urge to roll his eyes as he dragged NiGHTS home…

….

…On the plus side, Reala did start thinking about the idea of proposing to Aria…
