Most locals still don’t give a damn about social distancing, masking or vaccinating against COVID-19 and influenza. All of us at Unititled.Net are vulnerable to infection and one of us is extremely vulnerable to the point where catching COVID-19 Omicron in it latest variants may well kill her. Yet we have no choice but to be out in the world whether to purchase supplies, attend interminable…

If you live in the U.S. and you’re 12+, you’re eligible for the updated bivalent anti-omicron booster shot, and it should be available in your  local pharmacy.
Please reblog this post, as there’s been very little news coverage and shockingly little propagation of information about the availability of updated boosters.

Aaaand Wife has tested positive for Covid after five days of symptoms and two negative LFTs.
She will have been contagious before she had symptoms.
We could never wholly rely on LFTs for safety screening, but from Omicron onwards, they've been all but useless because you can be both symptomatic and contagious for days before they warn you.
We need to use our brains. I intend to self-isolate until it's run its course even though I'm not legally required to and I don't have a positive test yet, because I'm not a TOTAL SELFISH FUCKWIT. I may have to argue with work about this. So be it.
The pandemic isn't over just because people are bored and out of stamina.

Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R) has signed a bill that bans state and local governments from mandating COVID-19 vaccines for workers after a similar ban expired last month.
The legislation signed Thursday is aimed at defending citizens’ “individual liberty,” Sanders said at a press conference prior to its signing.
The legislation also prohibits COVID-19 vaccinations from being required as a condition of education, or for obtaining a service or licensure, permit or certificate of some kind. Any potential risks and harms associated with the shots must also be recorded and published by the state.
The bill is different from the state’s prior ban on vaccine mandates, which first went into effect in 2021, in that it covers vaccines or immunizations for any subvariants of the coronavirus, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
The latest COVID-19 vaccine, which was federally authorized for use this week by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration, is specially designed to reduce major illness and illness from omicron virus variants that are currently circulating.
In total, Sanders signed 11 bills on Thursday.
A separate bill she signed restricts the public release of her travel and security records. That bill, which went into immediate effect, shields details about the security that the Governor and other constitutional officers receive.
These details include who travels on the State Police airplane and the cost of individual trips. Sanders argued that it was needed for her and her family’s safety, though some critics said it eliminates government transparency.
State Sen. Bart Hester (R), who co-sponsored the bill, said at Thursday’s press conference that all of the state’s elected government leaders are still able to see the travel receipts through audit. The law also requires the state to file a quarterly report listing the monthly costs of protecting the Governor.

Reblog for results and tell me more in the tags!! If you haven't had COVID, don't vote—just reblog it with a reference tag so you can see the results when it closes.
This is NOT a remotely scientific poll, so please don't take it too seriously or get too technical with it. I'm just curious whether smelling smoke/fire that isn't really there is a common symptom for COVID survivors. Since I had omicron in June 2022, it has happened to me several times.
(Also, please forgive me for making the poll USA-centric—I chose the timeline I was most familiar with as a US American myself. If you're not American, absolutely feel free to vote.)

Daily Comic Journal: December 2, 2021: "A Virus From Another Planet?"
For those of you who’ve never seen the animated show “Futurama” (and if you haven’t, why not? It’s great!) Lrrr is the bombastic villain who rules the planet Omicron Persei 8. Lrrr is voiced by the voice actor Maurice LaMarche and every time Lrrr appears on the show he announces who he is. “I am Lrrr! Ruler of the planet Omicron Persei 8!” I’ve heard that so many times it’s burned into my brain.…
