synopsis: Shion comes 'round to get patched up, but it seems he forgot what day it is today. (surprise it's his birthday!!)

As the warm orange sun set behind him, Shion dragged his feet up the metal stairs leading to your apartment. It had become a routine after every gang fight to come back to you. Always welcoming him with a roll of your eyes, and a face mixed with annoyance and pain, but nonetheless you never hesitate to patch him up.
Today was no different, as a cool March breeze swept through his blonde hair. Shion knocks on the door, hearing shuffling from within before a small click of a lock reveals you. A simple, but comfortable fit adorn with an apron tied around your waist.
Your eyes quickly scan over Shion, and sigh, “Really? Weren’t you just beat up a couple of days ago?” He lets out a little chuckle pretending not to hear that as you step aside to let him in.
“It ain’t nothing major. Just some scratches.” Shion calls over his shoulder as he slides his Tenjiku jacket off, laying it on the couch armrest. The comforting scent of fresh chocolate cake hits his senses, “You good? What’cha baking?” He calls out.
Being met with silence he considers going into your little corner of a kitchen to see, but after another second you break it, “Don’t come back here! M’ a mess, just getting stuff to clean up.” He complies without second thought, examining his hands which he notes are a little bloody and bruised even with the use of his brass knuckles.
You pop out of the kitchen, no longer wearing the apron but carrying a little first aid kit. The couch dips down as you sit beside him, resting the kit on your lap. You met his gaze on his hands, before digging up some antiseptic spray, “Give me your hands.” Mumbling out as Shion extends out his hands.
The difference between you two is night and day.
Skillful and dainty hands work at his scuffed up bloody ones. Shion hisses as the antiseptic spray meets his cuts, “C’mon don’t be a baby.” Mumbling out, as you rummage around for some wrapping. “It stings y'know!”
Your eyes scan over his hands, deeming them to be taken care of. Glancing up at him you notice a small cut and dried blood on his cheek, just edging below his tattoo. “How do you even manage…” Words trailing off as you dig around looking for something to clean the dried blood.
Shion only humming in response, watching your focused eyes dart around. He can’t help but smile inwardly at how, even if you act annoyed with him, you never fail to take care of him after a gang fight. Though he would never dare to say that out loud, in fear of losing this.
In fear of losing you.
Losing you? It’s not like you're his to begin with. Just friends. So why would he be so worried about losing you?
He’s brought out of his thoughts as he realizes how close you’ve gotten to his face. “Oi! Damn jumpscare.” Pulling back to put some space up, clicking your tongue in response. “Shion, just hold still, will you? I gotta get this stuff off you.” Leaning forward you raise a hand to his cheek, keeping him still as you dab a cotton ball against his cut.
Still as a statue, he prays you won’t notice how much his face is heating up. Have your hands always been this soft? Did your eyes always look that pretty? Shion couldn’t help but stare, not even noticing the slight sting of the cut. It wasn’t until you smoothed the band-aid out on his cheek that he broke his stare on you.
“Honestly Shion. Weren’t you once the captain of a gang? How is it you’re always coming over beat up and bloody, huh?” Quietly talking as you pack up the kit, he can only chuckle at the recall of his time as the Black Dragons’ captain.
Shion got lost in his thoughts of those times, not even noticing the lack of your presence. But even if he isn’t captain anymore, things are better. He’s got you. He’s got Tenjiku. Being a ‘Heavenly King’ sounds a lot cooler than ‘Captain’, doesn’t it?
The only thing that draws his attention out of his thoughts is the click of a lighter. Since when did you start smoking? As he opens his mouth to question it, his words stop, caught in his throat.
You carefully walked over to the couch, a plate balanced in your hands. A single cupcake with a fondant crown placed on top, holds a lit candle. “Do you even know what day it is dumbass?” Shion’s eyes dart from you to the cupcake and back.
“What..day it is?” He mumbles out unconsciously trying to put the pieces together. Cracking a smile as you look at Shion who’s still trying to figure out the date.
“Happy birthday Shion, make a wish.”

The case of the Kidnappings (QSMP)
There we go again!
Ok, this time I’m searching for more answers than I’m just sharing my opinion on something, again, QSMP related.
Couldn’t watch a lot of streams lately, something, something, rush of things to do before the holidays and stuff. But I’ve heard from my servers about the list of kidnapped people (who seem linked to going to Purgatory 2: Electric Bugaloo)
Now, some will expect the question, but I’ll ask it still.
Are Tubbo and BBH back in canon, or out of canon?
Let me explain my confusion since I saw people defend how nothing happening is canon and yet praising the things happening like canon.
The Back in canon
Now, take this with a grain of salt, I do not know if they talked with the admins to have a last moments with the eggs or something, but let’s go with not since many are mentioning that they showed up without being canon.
The server is amazing, a team helping to make cool content and player’s Lore happen, there’s the eggs who stole everyone’s heart, there are so many reasons to spend as much time as possible on it. But if they were taken out, kidnapped, just as Pac was, just as Etoiles was… Just as many were. Why are they back? Showing back just because they want to hang out on the server feels flat and a bit… off? No one is THE protagonist of the server, that’s why there are rules in group server, so everyone has the same restrictions, no matter how wide they are, so someone doesn’t get all the spotlight or look like the favorite child…
Therefore, I am hoping that it is the second option (out of canon) or that they had a deal with the admins for this.
The Out of canon
Ok, so this one is the one I saw stressed on the most. Therefore, the one that made me rant. Because if it’s the case, then all that happened since the kidnapping isn’t canon anymore. Sunny’s safe room and birthday, BBH hanging out with Pepito, the Eggs unwillingness to have them leave, the code attack… Everything is now supposed to be wiped, then? If the thing was indeed agreed upon to not be canon I won’t just blame the players, the admins didn’t have to make the eggs log on or interact with people announcing to be out of canon, they shouldn’t have sent a code to attack. People cannot be “out of canon” then interacting with their eggs on the server (they can chat with the admins on discord, but there is not really any out of RP way to interact with the eggs)
So yeah! Which is it? Because I cannot fully enjoy lore if it is just fake, nor can I enjoy it fully if it’s done by breaking server rules that others abide by.
I hate when people loudly go out of RP in other people’s cool RP scenes, I hate when people glitch through walls or doors to get more information/test the limits, I hate when people try to find loopholes in puzzles with cheats or glitches. I am not a fan of unfair play, no matter if the ones doing it are CCs I do not vibe with or my favorite blorbos. And, right now, I am not sure where the ball is and if I’ll like where it’s falling.
BBH/Tubbo watchers PLEASE tell me what’s happening because I cannot follow what the line of canon is anymore on their stream.

Today is Chrysalis's one year anniversary. It's also Lottie's canon birthday! (Yes, I did this on purpose - her birthday was chosen long before I got the balls to post the fic lol.)
I am feeling some type of way about it. On the one hand I was hoping I'd be further along, and lately I've been honestly feeling a bit saddened watching commenters/readers drop off bit by bit. I am trying to remind myself it's more than likely just people losing interest in RE8 itself and not a reflection on me or my writing quality, but man it's weird sometimes. Especially given how popular Check Engine was, it's hard not to take it personally! I know it's got the double whammy of OC fic and child fic and for some people that's just intolerable but I don't think I'm wrong for feeling that way and I won't apologize for it!
On the other, and more overwhelmingly, I am so proud of myself. I work full time. I volunteer. I am going to school. I have many non-fandom related hobbies I keep up with. Friends. Family. An insane dog. To have written as much as I have is really cool! And crazy! And something I was terrified to do for YEARS, well before the game gave me the inspiration to actually go through with it! I spent the first part of my life unapologetically being a weird little girl, and then when I grew up and went to college and got a big people job I tried to play a part, an acceptable "role" that I thought I had to fulfill in order to meet some nebulous definition of success. Slowly but surely over the last four years I've been reconnecting with the person I tried to smother, and it's been amazing, incredible and just.... I dunno. It's weird when things go so right for me.
Anyway. This story represents a whole lot more to me than just "teehee put the blorbo in situations." I mean, it's partly that lbr, but it's also a gift to myself. It's a way to soothe a lot of agonies I've carried, a way to laugh. I'm going to keep gifting it to myself until it's done, whether I'm the only one around still reading it or not.

I haven't drawn anything (except for loving doodles in my letters to my wife but those are for her specifically) in so long, i couldn't figure out how to get my arm and hand to work right.
(and the first thing i drew is Moon because fuck my self-esteem, I wanted to draw my blorbos for @twinanimatronics birthday because I love their fic and now my fingers hurt because I am incapable of drawing without death gripping the pencil)
I liked staring at various fan art and deciding what joint structure would be good (i collect ball-jointed dolls, so this feels like a very normal thought process), and I find it funny in game he has bells on that alert you to his presence, and I was thinking about how cats adapt their hunting around their bells, and now headcanon is that Moon purposely rings the bells to up the hunt factor.

yay i’ve been wanting to talk about these silly guys :D (also adding Sawyer in cuz he’s Dew’s best friend, just not his roomate)
also this got long so i’m putting it under the read more :3
i’ll start with personalities:
so Layla is just overall very silly but also extremely smart and a genuinely nice and caring person. she’s the embodiment of quirky weird girls but doesn’t let people’s negative opinions of her affect her life. she loves animals and nature, especially insects and plants (also frogs and cats). she also really likes astrology but idk what her star sign is cuz i haven’t figured out their birthdays yet. she likes watching cartoons and anime with Dew and Sir Bonkles. she’s also a programmer and video game developer i think, her and Hayden wanna make a game together :3
Layla’s pronouns are she/her, she’s 23, autistic (because i can’t write a neurotypical character for the life of me), shes trans, bi, and 5’4 (one inch taller than Dew HAHAHA)
Hayden is my blorbo i love him. he’s a super nice and playful person, often goofing around and trying to make his friends laugh and have fun. he’s very hyper a lot and def has golden retriever energy. he loves reptiles and will not stop talking about them to anyone who would listen (same) and spends lots of time with his snake Mars. he loves to play video games but also likes being active outside and plays some sports. he and layla are definitely the two extroverts of the group lols
Hayden’s pronouns are he/they, he’s 23, he’s also autistic and has a special interest in reptiles, he’s got ADHD, he’s asexual, pan, and he’s 5’6 (my height)
Sawyer’s a mystery. he’s very closed off and reserved, doesn’t like talking to people much and doesn’t have much friends. but he’s really really nice when you get to know him, it just takes him a while to open up to people because of his social anxiety. he loves to play video games (his special interest) and is overall very introverted. but he loves his dog Rufus more than anything and spends a lot of time taking him on walks outside. he’s also kinda punk rock and has some piercings and tattoos, and he likes playing guitar and making music with Dew :)
Sawyer’s pronouns are he/she and she’s bigender, he’s 22, autistic, has OCD, she’s pansexual, and is 6’1 (the youngest AND tallest of the group)
alright so now their dynamics with each other and Dew:
Sawyer is Dew’s childhood best friend, they’ve been through everything together. Sawyer also has a crush on Dew, but has been too scared to tell him for years. after Dew’s parents died and he moved in with Layla and Hayden, he and Sawyer kinda started drifting further apart. this is because Sawyer didn’t know the other two that well, and she’s just a really socially awkward person and is scared talking to new people. also some other secret spoiler stuff i can’t say, but yeah.
Dew also likes Sawyer but he also likes Hayden and Layla (who are in a relationship) and is scared to tell any of them. i should also probably mention that they’re all polyamorous because i’m on the aroace spectrum and don’t know ANYTHING about romantic relationships, and monogamy just seems boring to me (/lh). so yeah Dew has a crush on all his friends but is a literal CHICKEN (they also like him back but don’t mention it to him. it’s also super obvious i mean Dew is a terrible liar).
Hayden and Layla are the gayest straight couple ever LOLL they’re silly!! (also not straight cuz they’re both bi/pan) they love each other!! i’m happy for them :) don’t know much else to say about that haha. like i said, Sawyer isn’t super close to them or anything but they like to have video game nights together so that’s fun.
Rufus, Sir Bonkles, and Mars all get along with everyone. Hayden doesn’t really let Mars near the cat that much because he can get the zoomies sometimes and go crazy (talking about Sir Bonkles but Hayden is also like that), but yeah they’re chill :) they get along and don’t try to kill each other!! (also not a good idea to introduce a snake and a cat irl)
i thiiink that’s about it about them? there’s probably more but those are all the main things!! OH YEAH Hayden is a huge sci-fi nerd and he sometimes desperately wishes he could be abducted by aliens and go on fun space adventures (same bro). and i’m making an alien abduction au with him being a main part of it, so im excited about that :3

I love all big animal statues, but Otto is very special to me. I've brought him up in conversations with friends to let them know how cool he is. (We do not live by him). I just think he's so neat and cute.
The Furious Five and master Shifu:
i am a kung fu panda media connoisseur. i have seen the kung fu panda movies so many times i am not sure how many times it's been anymore. shifu was my fav as a kid and one day when i looked up content for him i found an amv of him set to womanizer that haunts me and that is STILL THERE last i checked. after the first kfp movie came out (when i was like 6) it became so well known as a thing i loved among my family that three separate people surprised me with taking me to see the sequel on like my birthday i think i don't even remember, and i told none of them this so i could see it 3 times in theaters. i was ELATED to receive that gift thrice. i own the series and secrets of the furious 5 on dvd. i have seen all the specials, including kung fu panda holiday, which i watched on youtube as a kid in like those weird 5 minute snippets marked part 1, part 2, etc. going to watch all the kfp media i know in chronological order (excluding the multiple tv series and possibly secrets of the masters because i am just not as invested unfortunately) before seeing the fourth movie in 2024. dreamworks truly has me by the balls forever if they ever make more kfp movies or short films like i will show up no questions asked. i have a google doc called kung fu panda headcanon corner that is 6 pages long
this is the same person as last time i just wanted to add that when i was younger i had the entire scripts to both kung fu panda 1 and the secrets of the furious five memorized such that i could repeat them verbatim whenever i wanted to and would try to get people to reenact them with me in preschool during recess

Percy has only one. Vex got it for him during their year in Whitestone, just as a joke. It's a brown bear with soft fur and a green bow around the next. She doesn't expect him to like it, much less sleep with it every night, but he does and it truly brings him so much comfort. It's also named Bauble.
their first kiss
He was thirteen years old and it was during a ball. He wasn't enjoying himself much when a girl from a neighboring city walked over to him and asked him to dance. Half an hour later they were making out in the gardens. No matter how many times Vex asks, he refuses to tell her who it was.
the item of clothing they've never worn
When he moves back into Whitestone Castle, he goes into his old bedroom and opens the closet. Inside are all of his clothes from when he was fourteen years old, including the suit he was supposed to wear to the Winter's Crest ball. All of his family died not even two weeks before it. Percy burns the suit.

blorbo - I mean. It's gotta be Evie. She's my everything. My right hand arm. My silly rabbit. But also just like… She's a person who's been extremely performative for her whole adult life and let all her traumas and cognative dissonance impact like an untreated wisdom tooth until she could barely tell her own genuine desires from ironic self-destruction, and her entire arc is about sorting that out and becoming a version of herself that she genuinely likes, which is why she's main character coded.
scrunkly - Candi…. She's such a gremlin who's also a fancy lady who's also a gross dude. He is creating another new gender every time you complain about her gender. Also, I really fucking love my design for him. The unfixed broken nose, broad shoulders, cheap wigs or lazily spikey 2000s hair, heavy makeup… I just love drawing them.
scrimblo bimblo - Are any of my own ocs underappecitated? An interesting question. I could be doing more with Carol and Lily, because in the story as it exists in my head, there's a lot to them besides being "the other girlfriends" but also. There's so many self-indulent cul-de-sacs in this project of roleplaying and drawing for the sheer pleasure of creation and that particular one's quite far away from the "haha theme park sitcom with undertones of overcoming trauma."
glup shitto - purely based on the fact that I never draw or talk about them, but they are dear to me: Dakota, who's a dry petty bitch but also just a little guy and it's their birthday, but also cryptid vibes.
poor little meow meow - For me, it's Mal, but also I love a sad emotionally complex dad character who doesn't easily boil down to "unendingly virtuous" or "selfish asshole who's allergic to admitting fault," and they are wildly polarizing even without there also being an older man/younger woman age gap relationship in the mix as well, but their my ocs and I get to pick the tropes.
horse plinko - ….it might be Mike. He literally has. So many diseases (AND disorders). I really do be tormenting that man. But you can't have a sad little ball of regrets without doing that first lol, and the arc there is more like… slowly and painfully, with no real expectation of reward, trudging through the work of betting yourself after having been a huge fucking asshole due to a lot of internal pain that also needs to be treated, and then finally landing in a good situation and not being able to fully believe it and feeling like you'll fuck it up.
eeby deeby - there's a handful of people who made my guys into the sad little broken dollies that they are today, and they all get the superhell goop

This is... harder than I thought it would be? I don't know it off the top of my head, but when I'm there, I recognize the feeling. Sometimes when it's with certain people, regardless of the physical location. Other times, I can just be alone and relax whatever has knotted itself in my core.

“Just ask,” she whispered in Sara’s ear in a husky voice as they stared down at the blue and green ball that was Sara’s home planet. “Just ask, and I will spare them all.”
A shiver ran down Sara’s spine as she looked at the planet, spinning on heedless of the danger. Even though she knew she wasn’t looking at her planet, large windows were a ridiculous risk on a spaceship. The screens that surrounded them, however, were so realistic that she couldn’t help the flutter of fear in the pit of her stomach. Her breath caught as Chlo gently trailed the backs of her fingers over Sara’s cheek.
“Aren’t you supposed to offer something else?” Sara’s voice trembled as she turned her head to study Chlo, who gave a soft chuckle as she walked over to lean on one of the screens. Sara resisted the urge to pull her away from the endless black that surrounded them.
“What would I offer that I haven’t already done for you? I have killed and died, making those meaningless sacrifices to prove my love. But to spare a life? To let those live that I think should die is a gift I have given no one else.”

Maybe it's because I know that my Tumblr is a tiny corner of the internet where few dare to tread but here is where I feel I can write something.
My brother's birthday is coming up, and with everything that has been ongoing for everyone globally and me personally, the date has been hitting harder this year.
My brother would have been 46 years old on the 15th of this month. What would our relationship look like? Would we have bonded, like my sister and I managed to do once we started to get away from my parents? Would we have lost all touch?
I get a little down when it comes to the anniversary of his death because it's a terrible thing to remember. It's a time period that's engraved deep in my core. But what's worse, in some ways, is coming up to the date of his birth and thinking about all the birthdays I didn't get to celebrate with him. All the happy things I didn't get to share with him.
It's been years, and the grief gets smaller and mostly I'm ok - but it never really goes away. You always miss them, no matter what anyone says.
