The Obikin Big Bang is looking for Artists!

Artists will be asked to make one (1) piece of brand new, previously unpublished, finished art for every fic they claim. For this Bang, we will consider one piece of art in the form of promotional art for the work alongside:

✨ 1 digital/traditional illustration or ✨ 30 mins of podfic or ✨ 1 GIFset with minimum 4 GIFs If you’d like to sign up with a different form of art, please contact us with a proposal of what you believe will be equivalent to the guidelines above and we will consider your proposal.

Note: Promotional art can be in the form of SFW cropping or a preview of the finalised art piece with the name of the fanfic. For more information about Artist Requirements, please click here.

welcome to the Spooky Stranger Things Big Bang!!! A Big Bang event for people 15 and up!! I thought it would be fun to run an event that teens can be in, too!

writer sign ups: May 1st-May 31st

writing starts: you can start writing as soon as you sign up!

artists sign ups: May 1st-July 25th

first check-in: July 28th

Art Claims: August 5th-August 15th

Second Check-in: August 30th

Final Check in: September 27th

Posting: October 16th-31st

The minimum word count for all fics is 10k words

The minimum for all art pieces is 1 (obviously)

The minimum word counts for writers through: first check in: 5k second check in 10k final check in: completed and beta-read

The minimum progress for artists: second check-in: 50% final check-in 100%

You can write about anything, as long as it’s just a little bit spooky, this is kind of a Halloween big bang 🥰

Your fics cannot be beta-read by you, because sometimes people don’t notice things in their own writing no matter how many times they re-read the piece, but it can be beta read by someone who’s not a part of this event! (ex. Friend, family member)

If you have any questions throughout the bang, feel free to send in an ask and I’ll answer them as soon as I can! Or DM me in the discord group once you sign up!

All authors and artists (including those who make videos, podfics, other non-written creative works) are encouraged to sign-up! Hello there, Obikin Nation! We've gotten a great response to our Interest Check so far. If you're still unsure about what it means to join this Big Bang, here's a little of what to expect!

What is the Obikin Big Bang?

This event is in celebration of the relationship and unique bond Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker share in every form it comes.

We welcome collaborative fanworks that centre and revolve around every version of Obikin (Clone Wars, Prequel Movies, Original Trilogy, Legends Canon, Disney Canon, AUs, Modern Settings, etc), with no restrictions for dynamics or ratings.

Underage, dubcon, non-con, a/b/o dynamics, hard kinks, and dark content will also be accepted.

The only content requirement we have is that everything is properly tagged and the relationship between Obi-Wan and Anakin is the main focus of the work.

Rules

All works must centre on the relationship between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker.

All dynamics, genres, ratings, and content are welcome. Everything must be properly tagged. If in doubt, ask the moderators or a beta reader.

All participants must be 18+

Please be respectful and kind to one another. Don’t Like, Don’t Read is the golden rule of this event. We will not tolerate any harassment, bullying, gatekeeping or shaming for any reason or in any way, shape, or form. We want this event to be as welcoming and positive as possible.

All participants must respond to mandatory check-ins. If you do not, the moderators will attempt to contact you via the methods you provided at sign-up. If we are unable to contact you, you will not be allowed to continue participating.

If you need to drop out or feel unable to complete a deadline, please contact the moderators ahead of time. We want to work with you, and will try to be as accommodating as possible.

If any of the fanworks have been completed before their respective posting day, we ask you to please have patience and refrain from sharing them until your assigned posting date has arrived. While we're all eager to see and enjoy the works these collaborations will produce, it is crucial to respect the date you will be assigned for the event.

We are currently pretty low on artists. We definitely want to ensure all participants can establish a team. As a reminder, you can sign-up as both an Artist and Author for this challenge. However, you cannot be the sole author and artist for your project.
