Happy new year, everyone! Welcome to 2024, the year that will mark the 10th anniversary of Thanks Ken Penders. I'd like to go over my plans for the blog for this year.

First of all: in the very near future, I'll have a post with my thoughts on Sonic Dream Team, and I'm sure I'll write one last Sonic Prime review once the final episodes drop on the 11th. I've also been sitting on an unfinished piece about the Sonic LEGO sets. I wanted this to be longer and more detailed piece that not only reviewed the sets but also went into the weird disconnect between homogenized image of Sonic the Brand and the actual fiction it's based off of, but it'll probably end up getting cut down a lot just so I can put something out. Let's just say I did a fun little thing with one of the sets.

Second: yes, I would like to return to regular TKP updates this year. As I've said many times, I wanted to do this in 2023, but I've been suffering from creative burnout after finishing SLARPG and have generally been unable to focus on any of my creative goals this past year. I'm hoping that this year will be better and I'll be able to get back into the swing of covering Archie Sonic issues. Even doing one issue every week or so would be vastly preferable to continuing the hiatus. I'm still only halfway done!! But aside from burnout, my other main hurdle is that I need to reread my own archive to refresh myself on all these things after nearly three years away. This will take some time.

The thing is, though, this year I'll have an extra incentive to go back through my previous writing and brush up on all things Archie Sonic. Because you see...

I've decided that I want to make a video essay about Penders. The comics, the copyright battle, The Lara-Su Chronicles, everything.

The why

I've thought about doing this before, but I never committed to the idea. I was too busy with gamedev, or I thought it'd end up being too long, or I figured that there were already enough videos on the subject, or I just lacked confidence in my ability to put together a video essay. So I told myself it wasn't meant to be, and let the multiple YouTubers who have cited me as a source on their own Penders videos fill that void.

Recently, though, a few things have happened that have convinced me it might be time. For one, YouTube video essays/media retrospectives/etc. are just getting longer and longer. When Quinton Reviews is out here doing 21 hours of videos on Sam & Cat, a subpar Nick sitcom that only lasted one season, I don't feel so crazy for wanting to make a video about several hundred comic books and two lawsuits that'd be at least an hour or two long lmao. Admittedly, I've also been self-conscious about doing a long video essay like this as a trans woman who has yet to do any vocal training. But these days I feel like I see a lot more transfem YouTubers who have done little to no vocal training, and that's given me more confidence on that front.

But the big one was Hbomberguy's recent plagiarism video. As I sat there watching it, I kept thinking about the time I found a CBR article that was just a crude 800 word summary of my two previous articles on Penders, published by a CBR writer who's put out over 4000 articles since 2019. If I've already been plagiarized before, and my writing is so frequently passed around as a go-to source on Archie Sonic drama, then I wouldn't be shocked if there were YouTubers out there straight up just plagiarizing me. I don't watch other peoples' videos on Archie Sonic, so I'd never know! So if people are just gonna paraphrase me when covering these topics anyway, why not take matters into my own hands and make what I would consider to be the definitive video on the subject? If hacks like James Somerton and iilluminaughtii can churn out these shitty video essays and people will still watch them, surely it can't be that impossible to make my own, right? (And also, uh, Hbomb literally told me I should make the video lol. If you're reading this, thanks for the encouragement.)

The what, how, and when

So here's the plan.

Part of this video essay will be an adaptation of my Medium article on the recurring themes of Ken's Archie Sonic run, with its content touched up and expanded upon. There were a few things I skimmed over in the article because I didn't want it to get too long, but again, people are out here watching ten hour videos about bad Nickelodeon sitcoms now. I can get away with elaborating a little more. I can add a few paragraphs talking about the Chaos Knuckles arc, or throw in a little more historical context I've discovered in the years since.

After covering the comics, the back half(-ish?) of the video will be dedicated to the copyright battles and their ensuing controversies, trying to give an accurate picture of what actually went down, the sheer scale of how bad Archie fucked up, and what our takeaways should be. This will have some similarities to my New York Magazine article on the subject, but I'll be rewriting it from scratch. I REALLY had to keep things short for that article because I was already way over the expected word count, and my tone was a little more straight-laced than normal because I was trying to keep things Professional. I can riff more and insert more of my own opinions this time, like I normally would.

I'll inevitably have to touch on some of Ken's Bad Tweets when discussing things that have happened after the lawsuits, but I don't want the video to just devolve into a list of times people got mad at him on Twitter, so I'm gonna try to keep that to a minimum in favor of focusing on his actual work. Things like the Scourge the Speed Demon incident and his continued statements on certain characters' copyright statuses probably warrant mentioning, though. And finally, assuming that the book really does come out this summer, I would like the grand finale of the video to be about those first couple chapters of The Lara-Su Chronicles.

I don't currently know when this video will get done, but it'll probably be in the back half of the year, especially with me waiting for the book to either drop or get delayed yet again. But I've actually already started writing a bit of the script, and will keep chipping away at it for a while.

Now my natural reaction to not assume the worst (shocking, I know) is that what Rachel's actual intention behind making Leto a sun god was due to her being Apollo's mother and her clearly having a stronger relationship with him rather than Artemis. I'm abiding by Occam's Razor here, it's the simplest answer and it keeps my brain from getting too riled up right off the bat LMAO

There's a lot of emphasis put on Apollo being the god of the sun in LO, despite the fact that Apollo is one of the MOST prolific gods in the Greek pantheon, Rachel only ever really focuses on him being god of the sun with some loose references to him also being the god of music (as we see with him playing his lyre). There's really no real referencing to him being the god of medicine though (aside from that scene of him condom-bandaging Persephone's hand in Episode 22 ?? which is silly now in hindsight because she's a fertility goddess who can heal herself but ok lmao and the fact that Rachel established him as a LITERAL DAD with his doctor son Asclepius which ... just feels weird to have in LO tbh) and there's absolutely no referencing (from what I can find or recall) of him being a protector of the young, god of prophecy (for some reason he just magically gives Kassandra the ability to read prophecies... just so she can read his prophecy ??) or archery. Like, he's shown doing a lot of these things but they come across more as just side hobbies or extensions of him being Artemis' brother (like his archery) rather than aspects of his godliness or domains that he presides over. It's just like yeah, Apollo can shoot arrows and bandage people's hands I guess LMAO

All that said, I can see Rachel deciding to make him primarily the god of the sun and then going "oh! let's make his mom a sun god! then she could be a common enemy for both Persephone and Hades!" because Hades doesn't like sun gods yadda yadda.

But... we know Rachel has used front page Google sourcing in her comic before.

(literally the 'source' was copy pasted from a 2004 study guide for Princeton.edu. And we KNOW this was taken right from the first result because it just says 'www.princeton.edu' with no slug attached, which is what showed up back when we first looked into this, the princeton version was deadass the first result with this definition word for word. She didn't even remove the typo where there's no space between Xenios:"Zeus !!!).

And while a bit more into sus territory rather than outright confirmed like the xenia thing above, there's the whole Metis / Métis theory, that has us wondering if Rachel seriously googled "Metis" on its own and accidentally used Indigenous Métis cultural depictions in her version of Metis, the Greek God.

The fringe in her outfit, finger wings, and dark orange/red color really got my attention the first time I saw her design years ago, because she set off so many, "Wait a minute, is that an Indigenous woman???" bells in my Mi'kmaq/Cree brain LMAO And not even in a bad way, but now it feels a little :/ because of how much her character has been assassinated and how clearly accidental it was for her to look like that.

Of course, there's still a more likely explanation that her design was based on this vase:

But IDK y'all. That vase is very distinctly orange while the character itself is depicted in dark garbs and with light skin, so Metis being distinctly red-toned with finger wings and fringe?

While the Xenia thing is definitively copy pasted from the first search result on Google (literally there's no denying that at this point, Rachel's REALLY bad at doing research and then pretending like she was being smart by sourcing it from a university website... completely ignoring the fact that that website literally hasn't been updated since Rachel was working on The Doctor Pepper Show) the Metis and Leto depictions are definitely a lot more up for debate as to what 'research' Rachel did and whether or not they got confused with something else during her searching.

And really, the whole thing with Leto being a "sun god" doesn't make sense really when you think about it. Why is Leto a sun god? It's not even like you could argue there are "some versions" of the myths where she's a god of the sun, or other translations out there, or whatever vague source that could be used like what has been used for other gods like Hades and Persephone. Leto is not affiliated with the sun in any shape or form. Remove Apollo, her eventual son, who didn't exist when she was born and given the title of 'sun god', and it quickly falls apart as to why she would be a sun god in the first place.

She is a goddess of motherhood though, and that's NEVER mentioned in LO. If anything, Rachel makes her a terrible mom on purpose. Because god knows we can't have anyone in this comic be a good mom except for Persephone and Rhea (who are literally just carbon copies of one another). Basically the only thing Rachel gets right with Leto is the fact that she's a Titan and that she had Apollo and Artemis after sleeping with Zeus. That's it.

Unfortunately, unlike the xenia thing, there's no outright proof of what Rachel's reasoning was behind these designs or sources. So I'm not gonna accuse or outright state it as fact that Rachel confused Metis for Métis or ripped the idea for Leto being a sun god from an anime, because the odds of that being true in any way are fairly low.

But they're never zero.

Sorry I ended up rambling.

It's so funny to me people who liked FS for years enjoy it considering I got into it back in March/April. XD (Read Akira's other works as a kid but as far as I know the first time I ever picked up FS was cause I got it as an early B-day gift.)

I really wanted to make smth that felt like a sequel.

The tone is much darker but I think that fits considering Link's older and the reason behind the split is, depressing lmfao. Diving into the mentality and how it affects on the wielder of the four sword has been fun.

My biggest question was "How did Link cope with his adventure" how would ANYONE go back to normal after being torn into 4 parts?

How did the four sword mechanics REALLY WORK?

I love media analysis and I've got SO MUCH TO SAY about the OG Four Sword manga I really wanna make a video essay on it one day just because I have a LOT of takes. A lot of outside of the box ones I guess considering nobody's really tackling the stuff I wanna see. (To not get too deep into it: fan FS content doesn't appeal to me 99% of the time, OOC shit/ONLY focusing on vidow and not doing them justice when focused on, tend to be the main issues to me in a lot of fan work. That genuinely was a huge part in what spurred me to make FSR I think hah. There's a HUGE untapped gap in FS manga fan content around an idea for a sequel/the four heroes TOGETHER despite...ya know. the messaging of the manga, in general while NOT having an "Anti vidow" bitterness behind it, at least imo.)

So I did it myself haha.

Really in a way SU future is the only thing I can think of as a comparison in terms of the idea of it? XD (Yes the Link fusion monstrosity was based on the force gem fusions/mini clusters/Learning with Pibby just as a fun fact.)

I'm glad I'm expanding on stuff people want to see from the OG story tho. It's really a project that's seen in the way I want it to. (Which, hasn't been the case for some of my past comics oomf. TTuTT')

Smth I've been enjoying thinking and planning for is just making characters who never got to speak to each other 1 on 1 talk more. XD We were robbed of more volumes of FS and I'll stand by that.

Dark Link was a huge curve ball as he was BARELY In the OG draft, and he actually replaced Vaati in the scene he first appeared in. XD Which is why his dialogue is kinda OFF compared to his other appearances. I'm kinda flabbergasted I basically snuck an OC into the mix and people like him lmao. It's hilarious.

Anyways I got derailed and blabed that's a lot of words to say:

((At some point, I’m going to properly put into words why I think Scott is such an interesting character. Granted, I don’t follow his story line very closely, I just know things about him from reading X-M//en comics in general, so take everything I say about him with a grain of salt because it’s a little headcanon based!! BUT I’m just so freaking interested in his character development. The shift in his character and his ideals from aligning with Xa//vier to becoming more... militaristic as opposed to hoping for compromise and acceptance of his people by humans who continue to scorn them at every turn. Hell, even the Av//en//gers and such have, time and again, proven that they’re not interested in mu//tant politics and actually helping them! There have been times when some of them have even referred to mu//tants as “you people” or “those people”, or “your type”, things like that (I’m looking at you Ma//rc Sp//ect//or during the Av//X event). I’m just so invested in Scott’s shift to being the kind of leader that Mag//neto sides with, that half of the team turns away from and the other half walks alongside. I mean, when the X-M//en split, Scott and Logan take opposing sides and it’s... not necessarily what you would think it would be based on the kind of stereotypes of who they are. People think of Scott as a boy scout and, to a degree, they’re not wrong. Especially younger, more idealistic, Scott. But as he gets older, as he watches the world burn around him despite his best efforts to save it, as he witnesses how ungrateful and cruel humanity still is towards his people despite everything they’ve given and sacrificed to keep them safe... of course he grows disenchanted with the idea of co-existence. He starts to grow bitter. And he loses a lot of that hope that there’s a chance of peace between mut//ants and humans. His people are still being attacked and killed and hated and feared and he’s spent most of his life trying to change that to no avail. I mean, when Le//gion loses 6 of his personas and Xa//vier, Ro//gue, Re//my, and Le//gion go to find them... Scott sends Mag//neto with them (Fren//zy joins too, but apparently of her own accord lmao). And they’re like “Why? Why him?” but then Sus//an in Suns//hine (one of Le//gion’s missing personas) heightens their emotions and Mag//neto decides to move to kill David because, according to him, that’s why Scott sent him. Because if they couldn’t get David’s personalities back, if they couldn’t get everything under control in a timely manner, or if things seemed to be unfixable, then Mag//neto was there to KILL him to put an end to it all. It it comes to saving Le//gion or saving the world, Scott would choose the world. Obviously. And so... he sent Mag//neto as the kill switch. And that just... it feels so unlike the Scott that people generally know? The one in the movies or even in the cartoons. The one who once told Logan that the X-Men don’t kill, that there’s always another way. And idfk I need to read more to actually talk about this because I’m missing a lot of pieces, of course (I mostly read Ro//gue’s stuff because she’s my fave lol) but, my god, it’s so interesting to read him going from your generic, mostly optimistic, leader to... a man who is shouldering the burden of realization that every goddamned thing he’s been through, though it’s saved lives, saved planets and so on (which is important and he doesn’t dismiss the importance or gravity of that, mind you!), hasn’t amounted to any real change for his people. Xa//vier preached that they would use their powers for good and, through that, they would eventually find acceptance in this world that hated them. But it’s been years, it’s been decades, and NOTHING has changed. He and the people he cares about have lost so much, and sometimes it feels like so little has been gained. Again, he’s not dismissive of the ways that they’ve helped people, but... it seems like, time and again, no one is on their side. Not unless it serves a purpose for them. And that’s not to say that’s the truth, necessarily. But that’s how it must feel to him. So he throws himself into his work- not with the thought that it’ll someday create a brighter future, a bond between humans and mutants... but just because being a hero, being a leader, is what he knows. It’s what he’s good at. He was created for it, in a way. And so he carries on. He keeps helping. He keeps sending his people out to fight battles on behalf of the people who still wish them dead, because he’s a good person. But he’s also reached the point that he feels that he needs to put the survival of his people first in a lot of ways. And ANYWAY I’m gonna keep reading because this is just from, like, a glimpse at him, so to speak, and chances are that these thoughts are gonna change as I keep reading Le//gacy and such, but for now. important note:    i currently have very minimal comic knowledge for scorpion, and will primarily be insomniac-based.    that being said, i am still a bit divergent from insomniac’s canon, and have taken Many liberties with scorpion’s characterization as a whole — i’ve taken this character hostage and he’s mine now.

macdonald “mac” gargan was simply an alias used by dallas while working for jameson and is not at all his real name, he has used many aliases over the years, this is just one more being added to the pile.    the papers included this alias in their publishings about him, and so it is possible that others may refer to him by this name, and he’ll answer to it, but he’ll probably wrinkle his nose at it too.

jameson bankrolled the whole thing (somehow, lol) but the actual experiments were carried out by norman osborn/oscorp in an effort to further norman’s genetics research, and in exchange for denial of oscorp’s involvement/silence from anyone that was part of the project. note:    this is canon with taurus’ norman (@gr-27​) and will in turn be the only norman referred to should he come up in posts/threads.

these experiments involved splicing dallas’ dna with that of a scorpion’s, in turn making him stronger, faster, and all around pretty fucking hard to kill. note:    my scorpion IS stronger and faster than spider-man, like in his original canon, but of course still capable of being defeated.    however, due to the artificial way in which the dna was introduced to his body, dallas’ own dna has become somewhat unstable, and the suit he wears stabilizes it.    when not wearing the suit he is easily fatigued, incredibly ill, and slowly dying.

the cyborg tail (affectionately named ‘maryanne’) is physically attached to dallas at the base of his spine but can be removed for repair or whenever his ass gets thrown in jail.    should his tail be removed improperly the pain is akin to having a limb torn off.    in addition to this, the tail is roughly five feet long, but capable of extending up to ten feet in length, barb not included, which adds about another foot.

his suit and tail are not green.    here is a visual reference for the coloration.    also he doesn’t have???    three fingers???    insomniac has unfortunately stopped taking my calls on this matter smh my head.

the literal nightmare fuel that is the hallucinogenic neurotoxin is actually 10/10 though and does not need changing at all lol.

Odd.    he’s The Weird One(tm) of the six lmao.

1) What made you ship it?

i remember thinking throughout the entire first season that bolin and asami both deserved better after the way they were treated by korra and mako respectively. the ship kinda hit me out of nowhere after the last two episodes of season 1, where bolin and asami were paired together a lot and bolin even saved asami from her father's mecha tanks. at first i shipped them in a pair the spares sort of way, but during the hiatus between s1 and s2 i realized i really liked their dynamic - and the fact that after everything in the entire season, they looked happiest around each other. s2 gave me So Much Vindication and So Much Content - and then they introduced opal in s3 and everything went downhill from there.

2) What are your favorite things about the ship?

bolin makes asami smile!!! asami respects bolin's opinions and feelings!!! he doesn't have to be the Token Comic Relief around her and can be more serious!!! the entire 'a natural assistant' scene!!! they have fun together!!! he comforts her when she needs it the most!!!! i'm STILL livid that their dynamic got phased out as the show continued just so the writers could push endgame korrasami and bopal. like you built this great friendship and then pushed it aside for zero reason???? @ bryke turn on your location i just want to talk.

the fact that i am a proponent of its existence is probably the most unpopular boasami opinion ever lmao. even in its heyday during the pre-korrasami years the fandom consisted of me and like two writers tops.

Steven Universe!Seussian Au: Ideas

So I had an idea for a Steven Universe!Suessian Au, so here are some character descriptions for the main characters.

May include heavy topics such as depression and self image!

takes place 1 year after ‘future’ and after the events of ‘Seussical’ (not exactly tho)

Steven:

Crash landed on the mysterious planet after a ship wreck, which will most likely be explained later.

he helps the seussian creatures deal with their problems

uncovers a secret abandoned diamond base that belonged to pink diamond, which will be explained later.

unable to express his own feelings but is good at getting others to express theirs

gets help from other seussian creatures to overcome his fears of his mother.

Lives temporarily with the cat + the other residents of the cats treehouse

Mayzie tried to mother him but fails miserably

is depressed but no one knows till later on.

has nightmares about pink diamond a lot, which will be explained later.

misses Connie and the crystal gems dearly, and is determined to find a way to contact them so they can come get him.

singing is his way to cope, and cat realizes that. he sings to the little cats and the things daily.

also is considered a ‘thinker’

Cat:

tries to be a father figure to Steven.

saved Steven from the crash, and is still traumatized from the crash and has nightmares a lot.

he tries to be a good role model and good friend to Steven, but he never feels good enough, which makes him depressed.

he represses his feelings to make himself look happy, until one day when he just falls apart.

father of the 3 little cats and considered the adoptive father of thing 2 and thing 1.

rhymes a lot when happy.

Steven reminds him of his dead lover, which is why he feels obligated to take care of him.

Steven helps him turn his mother’s lyrics into songs, which makes the situation a lot worse.

Has a flaming crush on Spinel.

Spinel + Rose Quartz (Rosie):

Crash landed on the planet and are reunited with Steven when they show up near hortons nest.

Rosie is the childish Rose Quartz from ‘Rose Buds’

Rosie begins to develop a crush on Mayzie and Spinel begins to like the Cat.

They end up living in a cave near the cats treehouse

They stay close to Steven until the 3 are finally rescued.

Spinel is very flirtatious, mean while Rosie is very childish.

Spinel gets angry very easily, so Steven and Rosie need to calm her down ever so often.

Thing 2 + Thing 1:

considered the cats ‘adopted sons’.

they are twins and both male.

they are taught to express themselves by Steven, we learn that thing 2 is very optimistic and very energetic, while thing 1 is very shy and comedic when he wants to be.

serve as the cats sidekicks and help cat whenever it’s needed.

both become very loyal to Steven, and thing 1 becomes very close to Steven.

Thing 1 always wants to talk to Steven, and Steven serves as a role model, such as Fred Rogers.

3 Little Cats:

Named A, B and C.

A and B are girls, while C is a boy.

They are the kids of the cat and they are farely young and farely innocent.

Little Cat A begins to develop a crush on Morton.

B and C become very close to Steven and view him as a big brother.

A keeps herself distant from Steven, because he reminds her of their dead mother. (Her death will be explained later on)

A begins to accept Steven.

Morton:

Half Elephant, Half bird.

cries ALOT.

Begins to relate to steven on a personal level since they are both hybrids of two totally different species.

Begins to develop a crush on Little Cat A, who he calls Piper, and our precious boy Steven.

He is facinated with Stevens powers, and wants to study and learn more about gem kind.

He likes to sing with Steven and Gertrude.

Horton is his Father and Mayzie is his bio-mother, but she was an unfit mother so Gertrude took her place.

Horton:

Protector of the the planet of ‘who’.

Considers a ‘thinker non-stopper’.

Steven is brought to his attention when he is caught crying near his nest, after sneaking out of the treehouse during the night.

Steven goes to him for advice, Horton tries his best but he feels that he is failing Steven.

He is married to Gertrude and is the father of Morton.

Gets along with Mayzie, even after what happened with the egg.

Close to the cat, they are considered non biological brothers.

very angsty.

Gertrude:

Hates Mayzie.

insecure about her one feathered tail, but is helped by Steven.

She mothers Morton even though Mayzie is his Biological mother.

Wants to be a musician, but is mocked by the bird girls and Mayzie.

pissed off at Mayzie for abandoning her child to go on vacation.

Gets in a fist fight with Mayzie and causes Morton to interve.

Mayzie:

Tries to be a good mother figure for Steven.

Wants to prove to Horton that she can be a good mother if she tries.

She tries hard but it is never enough. she just can’t get the parenting thing right.

Makes fun of Gertrude to make herself feel better.

she begins to isolate herself as she becomes suicidal.

Cat, Rosie and Steven begin to become worried about her.

2)drawn by peanchie on Instagram, it's an au where steven is pink diamond and connie is a zooman that he takes a liking to.

there's a power imbalance there, and just a quick scroll has the idea of steven being some sort of "cutesy yandere". it wouldn't be that bad if Connie wasnt a main girl or color being controlled by some dictator white boy. and the weird discomfort/rapey vibes that this specific comic gave for "angst". it sucks bc steven and connie in show r equals, and the zoomans in general were a huge ass controversy

i still don’t know how much of a Thing(tm) magfest is but as far as i can figure it it’s No Comic Con (like, thank god :| ) but still kind of a thing. anyways i learned of it cuz i saw there was gonna be a couple su panel thingies & i looked it up & we were less than an hour away and so it was like midnight but i ask my brother like hey wanna swing by this thing on this one friday. and he was like Sure. so i made it happen and he was 17 so we had to drag our dad to the bank to Notarize a form that he was allowed to be there accompanied by me. it was a big place and it also took us a while to find Registration or whatever and when we tried getting sandwiches later it cost like $7 each go figure. anyways but we were just there for the one Event & there was a room like filled with arcade games and a bunch of other consoles (also Retro though. like old computers n stuff) and they had Galaga, thank fucking god. we 2 playered that shit and wandered around and also 2 playered a game called toobin, which was funny. real gamers know. 

when we were in the (pretty long) Line to get into the Panel, i actually like. spotted a then-mutual who i (was pretty sure i) recognized from her occasional selfie lol and who i guess had travelled all the way from the west coast for the weekend. when we were actually Seated she happened to be a couple rows back and both of us on the end of the aisle and i asked my brother if he could read her nametag (to verify lol) and i bopped over to have the cringe and fail exchange of “hey do you have a Tumblr” and then i was like “haha i’m milo i’m ummmwine” and she got up to hug me and then i had to scamper back to my seat cuz shit was starting lol

like my life was not changed by this event but we had fun and. the Hilarious story is that it was also partially a Q&A and i had a Q and my brother encouraged me by again whispering “go go” as soon as the first syllable was spoken implying Line up For Questions.....i was in like, the last idk, haaalf dozen or so ppl who made it to the mic? and look i knew i was gonna be asking a niche question that like 3 other people of the hundreds in the room would care about but So What. deal with it gang, let’s have some Variety. but i was still nervous. and when i’m nervous, i a) Have A Script and b) get even chattier. and right after the person Right In Front Of Me got their answer, i guess it was noticed that it was getting down to the wire so they were like “haha okay lightning round :)” and i was like NO.......GOD..........lmfao like too late im sorry i Can’t make it lightning round. i was muy anxious.....just that, again, hundreds of people there, i have the floor, nobody’s gonna Like my quastion......and they didn’t know the answer (which i figured was v possible lol) so i was like oh no sklfjd hope this entire room doesn’t hate me. i mean of course i didn’t care if they did too much but, Nerves....also im valid, but were the like half dozen people who asked prior to me about shit that would CLEARLY be too spoilery to answer valid????? no lmfao. cmon. that’s what’s Really cringe

well here we ffw a bit b/c Mid To Late 2015 is certainly a time for me and it doesn’t really make for an interesting story so just to tldr it lmao like, got some beautiful moral support from someone as i was makin a Lifestyle Change lol and continued to get beautiful moral support from that same person and i continue to benefit from it....You know who you are!!!! tyvvm....and it occurred to me that the reason i am where i physically am is via someone i met thru su-posting.......which is true of the You Know who you are person too, which is why i brought it up lmao

uhh god not as many Stories after that lol.....def got to engage in “i’m ___ i’m gonna [draw the same character i always draw] so i won’t be so ___” during interesting times lol. love that for me

tbh the uh. Wanted arc was truly one of the best Serial Arcs, just dramatic & solid af and also it’s lars time and for a second i go “god well at least maybe now ppl will acknowledge lars is a gr8 character” and then a second later i go “Oh No they’ll only say he’s a good character *Now*” and that’s exactly what happened lmfao but well we still got as much lars fanart as we ever got outside that couple weeks aftermath... l o l . . . i had to wait One Zillion Years for my little brother to catch up to this b/c. he was watching via hulu i think where like, a full season would come out a good while after the finale. seriously i think it took him almost 2 years. im like dammit lmfao this is What Matters dfslk....fond memories when hulu was free / no login req’d / shit would be available like the day after airing

uhhhHHH crazy how this show muscled through the weird scheduling change where it was like “no weekly eps Only Erratic Hiatuses”......ppl were so foolishly Into the first “5 eps in a row” release and i was like “no i don’t like this” and then a year later i was like “you see. You See.” rip

well i like lars’s [last outfit we see him in] and i feel like it only backs up the bi agenda. another epic gamer moment had been when it became a Popular Hc that lars is trans b/c he is lmao. and everyone was all “why is everyone sayign this why would you want him to be trans he sucks” like get good grandma!!!!!!!! it’s too late. well that’s the end of my post. me in 2014 being like “wow way to have something to keep up with b/c now i have to outlive it to get all the dnads content i guess” and here i am. but it’s almost April 2020 so. haha

I have dithered about this! I think it’s one of those things where it’s kind of the same, kind of not. Like, everyone knows Iron Man is 100% based on Tony Stark, they have the same facial hair for gods sake, but his name in the comics is like, Robert (Robbie) Strong, and they changed his eye colour to avoid being sued.

Also, Steve totally gets a job at Marvel Comics when he grows up and is like: you know that underused archer character?  I have some ideas, so you know my buddy Clint? Well he worked in the circus, and…

He is also 100% responsible for introducing the new fan favourite straight-laced but secretly funny secret agent man named Cole Phillips. (Phil is not amused, but his underlings at the shadowy secret agency he works for are. Like, does Steve KNOW? Does he know-know? It was just an inside joke that Phil’s not really an accountant right? Dammit he needs to call Fury.)

Oh man, I'm just imagining that there's so many close brushes with kiribaku almost realizing or almost being in positions to find out that the other is a vigilante-- an injury and no way to get into contact with Jack or Mina-- a rainstorm washing Kiri's dye away on the job. I think it'd be especially funny if he thought for a minute that Kiri was bleeding but then Kiri is like "UH GOTTA GO ITS NOT BLOOD" and he realizes it's red hair dye

Oh Kirishima sort of already suspects it’s Bakugou - more or less? He’s in the process of starting to suspect it, at least lol for being someone who really doesn’t want to be found out Bakugou’s more carefree in his disguise than Kirishima is (his hair is a pretty obvious giveaway, for example, thought Bakugou relies a lot on the ‘attacking and running’ strategy, so in his mind all he gotta do is just not be seen by anyone at all lol) compared to Kiri he gets bruised and beaten up way more too (Kiri’s hardening makes it easy for him to avoid that in general) - Kiri’s noticing Bakugou’s bruises and his vigilante friend’s bruises match up a whole damn lot, so he’s starting to figure that one out

Bakugou’s a dumbass tho (read: he doesn’t really look at people he isn’t particularly interested in) so for him it’s gonna take a while haha

They’re best friends, and sometimes when your best friend is going through a real rough heartbreak and he’s in literal tears over it, you might be nice enough to offer your back for him to hide his face in and let him pretend he isn’t currently breaking down on you. Sometimes, you like a person in a platonic way enough to emotionally support them as best as you can when they’re at their lowest. It. Sort of happens between best friends, now and again. You don’t really need to want in someone’s pants to care about them.

They live together cause they started working together as vigilantes when they were in high school, and once they moved up to college they found it a good idea to have someone back home who knew about what they were doing to treat eventual wounds, since they can’t go to the hospital! Also the rent is cheaper this way

Ahhh I’m really happy to hear you like it! For personal reasons I’ve decided that making a cohesive, coherent succession of comics isn’t something I want to do, but I think I’ll draw more of that AU soon enough, snapshots and things like that! I hope that’s good enogh for you~

Ah, in the vigilantes AU he’d probably think it’s for the best even if he’d hurt a lot over it, but in canon and most other AUs I like to think he’d try to fix it somehow? Unless he has other reasons to not act on his feelings for Kirishima… gosh this is a vague question, there are so many possibilities really!
