Sooooo, had another idea for my Au....

So Oberon's corruption is darkness/shadows, therefore Cyrus is light. Also, the dark sclera in Oberon's dragon is caused from his corruption. She was not born with it. Dragons form a sort of soul bond that will allow then to share the ability to telepathically communicate with one another, feel each other's pains and emotions, as well as the ability to see through the other's eyes. It's almost like having the other half of oneself with how well the dragons understand their chosen riders/partners. (Partners in this au is to not be confused with a romantic relationship as those are referred to being called "mates" or even just terms like "lovers, spouse, wife, or husband")

I also have some lore for Horror in this au too if anyone is interested...

{DS! APOTROPAIC!: Vesper & Paralysis}

YIPPEE!! Apotropaic art! 😍

Simple Explanation:

A mirror is found in an old storage room of JR. It radiated a magical energy that needed to be determined as “bad” or “good” so they kept it. Little did they know people from a different world would finally have the chance to escape. They used all of the power they needed to crack the glass and free themselves. Black smoke erupted from the creases as the mirror world parallels spread panic across the multiverse. The gas causes intense paranoia, hallucinations, and nightmares. Bunkers got put in order, but some were not as lucky to get there in time. JR put itself on lockdown, but that wasn’t enough. The parallels surrounded them… even if they went into their bunker. The employees got killed one by one, leaving their variants of each other to torment them.

I haven’t decided the true ending but it’s a pretty funky horror au :/

Personality - Kind of intimidating and deadpan. Very tired and stressed. It seems like he's upset all the time, which he kind of is. Still has his formality, but it's less than before. More likely to lash out than usual. Looks out of it more than the others cause Paralysis actively torments more than the other Parallels..

Weakness - his listed fears, the hallucinations, lack of sleep, the bond between him an Paralysis (also Gloom but Paralysis gets beat up more lmao),

Fear - Agoraphobia (fear of leaving the house), Proditiophobia (fear of betrayal), Emetophobia (fear of vomiting or seeing other vomit), Catoptrophobia (fear/dislike of mirrors)

Other - He found the mirror in a storage room, it looked a bit odd so he looked into it. After a while of it just radiating magic that was hard to decipher… he didn't see his reflection, he saw a horrible world with a bad version of him. After that, he wanted to lock it away and study it to keep everyone safe. But unfortunately, the parallels broke out and he thought wasn't careful enough. A small crack doomed their world, and it was all “because of him.” The nightmare fuel gas spread and the parallels escaped. JR was put on lockdown and he feels really guilty.

-Him and Paralysis (the mirror world version of him), do not get along. After all, he gives him nightmares, terrible hallucinations, and doesn't respect his boundaries. They're relationship is quite toxic and is basically fueled by hatred (Ves) and sadistic tendencies (Para).

-This place is very negative so his radiance/magic is weaker than normal. He also gets a ton of headaches/migraines because of this. :,)

-Flinch and Champion are the most important to him because they always help him in times of need. He'd be in a much worse mental state without them.

Because of Nightmare and Dream being based off of blue, do you think that blue sees himself in them both sometimes? Like Dream’s near endless optimism and belief in the good of everyone? Or Nightmare’s ambition and want for power? Just a thought.

Lost in the Deep- The Crew

Hi!! In celebration of Mermay, I’m taking a (short!) break from Horror Dreamtale and Phantasmverse to doodle some of the fellas from my pirates & mermaids AU, Lost in the Deep!

Summary of story:

Dream has the unflinching goal to sail to Thornebreak Island in The Southern Seas to battle the monster that lives there and the pirates it has bent to its will. One problem: he has no idea how to sail. And can’t swim. And is scared of water. He hires retired pirate Geno and rowdy young harpooner Maroon to help him on his journey. Just as they are about to leave, Geno convinces the group to go visit an old friend of his, Blueberry, for some last advice and extra supplies. While Blue was out helping them gather supplies, though, his brother is kidnapped by some of the monster’s pirates, presumably to be dragged back to the lair. A little guilty for unwittingly distracting Blue during the attack, the crew agrees to let him accompany them and help save his brother. Along the way, they bribe convince a member of the Royal Guard’s Navy (Ink) to join them as well.

Oh, and Dream may have forgotten to mention that the monster is his brother, a siren corrupted by a strange parasite. And that he’s a siren, too.

I’m sure everything will go perfectly well.

Geno:

- Ex-pirate

- Lost right eye and left leg

- Pathetic old man /aff

- Could probably still kick your ass

- So tired, somebody get this man some coffee

Dream:

- Based off a koi fish (inspired by @cas-spirit :3)

- He’s trying. So hard. But nothing ever goes right

- Likes to bask in the sun like a lizard

- Insists that the orange scales on his body are just tattoos

- Expending too much energy/coming in too much contact with water could cause him to revert to his siren form (looking like a normal bipedal being is hard work), so he tries to order others around him to do work instead of doing it himself since it’s his boat and he’s the one paying everybody (it does not work he is too nice)

Blueberry:

- big

- Can probably pick you up and throw you 30 ft

- Retired Royal Guard Navy member, fought Geno’s pirate gang and they became friends in between fights

- Started a bakery when he retired- Blue’s Baked Bites

- Sure would be a shame if he bonded with the younger members of the group. In a fatherly way. Almost like becoming a father figure-

- Don’t let his size and appearance fool you, he is a lovable idiot

Ink:

- Just a Little Guy™️

- Easily distracted by shiny objects and hoards them in hidden corners

- His vials don’t help him feel things, but are rather medicine for a magical condition

- Likes to sit in the crow’s nest, obviously

- om nom nom eat all the fish

Maroon:

- Some variety of Fell variant

- Likes playing with sharp objects

- Very high energy, but not necessarily mean

- Insomnia

- Tries to be tough and scary but is secretly precious boy

I had to draw the babies of course. I based them off koi fish. Those guys have interesting patterns and I've been meaning to draw them for a while. It was very fun, highly recommend. There's also a story in which a koi fish turns into a dragon, which is neat.

Edit: I scheduled this for a few weeks out, but have it early for a sneak peak of what I’m doing for mermay!

Jotting down my UTMV AU Ideas because of this guy

No clue if ANY OF THESE can make canon sense but does it look like I care? Lemme have my fun.

AMV!Ink / AMV-VERSE (AMVV?)

The idea is simple. At least, I hoped it was. Rather than the artistic AUs, fanart, and creative writing side of the community, there was an Ink made for the musical side of the community, like the AMVs, themes, vocaloid covers and what not. I’m sure Ink probably looks over ALL of that junk already but let’s be honest when was the last time you saw him doing it? Yeah I didn’t think so. Ink could be an unfinished animation meme or a vocaloid AMV like that Spring Storm one and eventually find a way to leave it and probably protect YouTube or inspire creators or something, gaining access to all the other things and people on the platform. Error could even tag along as some sort of flawed copyrighting system using Error’s body as a means of moving around rather that being confined to STRINGS of text. (Don’t ask me how he does that I don’t know) He would recognize everything as copyrighted or plagiarism or something and try to destroy it without seeing the creativity and originality in the work. Their designs could be based off the AMVs or covers they came from with Ink being from whatever the hell and Error being from…idk, probably ECHO. I wonder if Inks outfit would depend on which videos and content he delves into almost like Hatsune Miku or other Vocaloid.

LONLEY GUARDIAN

This one is just sad. A Dreamtale AU where, during a fight between Dream and Nightmare, Dream reaches out and gets a hold of Nightmare’s SOUL trying to uncorrupt it, sacrificing himself to be able to restore a part of the original Nightmare. Dream dies and the world is cast into absolute darkness, leaving Nightmare stranded in the cold world with nobody to seek comfort from, nobody to help him. Not anymore.

INK <——> NIGHTMARE SWAP AU

Random idea that I came up with after jokingly writing Nightmare getting drunk off of Ink’s vials. Would that actually work?What if the two got into such a dangerous fight that eventually Ink tried to teleport away but Nightmare lunges at him and two get their “goop” mixed together because Ink teleports via INK. And nightmare is made of a INK like substance. If Ink doesn’t instantly die from lead poisoning or something this mixing could mess up his brain while Nightmare just kind of shrugs it off and steals Ink’s vials. Ink would no longer need the vials and rely off Nightmare’s “blood” to feel real negative emotions, slowly craving the stuff more and more than his vials while Nightmare probably gets drunk off the vials or something and takes on Ink’s role. Error and Dream may have to team up to get them back to normal or at least try to.

SHATTERED DREAM BUT SCARIER

So looking at this post made me consider something. What if Dream tried to eat the apples and yknow do what he did in the original AU, but due to the overwhelming and clashing natures of his apple and the dark ones he just…MELTED AND DIED IN FRONT OF NIGHTMARE. He doesn’t even corrupt or anything (well sort of) he just DISSOLVES ALIVE RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM. Imagine trying to prove a point and failing THIS BADLY. Anyways, rather than Nightmare being haunted by his now corrupted brother, he’s just ACTUALLY HAUNTED. I was thinking this could be like Phantom Papyrus and Dust Sans and that this new “Dream” (going by Shattered) is just a horrible manifestation of this traumatic event. It’s design and personality wouldn’t be the EXACT same especially not the design (would look so much scarier) but it constantly make Nighty feel like garbage and all that. People like Swap and Ink would have to find and help Nightmare get past this trauma, where only then can he and his “brother” finally move on.

EVIL INK AU BECAUSE YES

I know, we literally JUST went over an Evil Ink AU but hear me out. Wouldn’t he WANT a soul again? Idk if it’s possible for him to reabsorb and claim a soul, he probably can’t, but what if he COULD? He’d probably go nuts over Error’s or something. Just ANYTHING to fill that void other than his vials.

wow most of these ideas involve characters getting traumatized or turning evil. I ain’t sorry though!

you my friend have no idea what you have just started :)

(nightmare) The Feral nightmare au is kind of a what if to how the corruption might work differently. Essentially The corruption essentially inhibits the mind and erases memory. like thinking through a fog if that makes sense. The corruption also enhances negative emotions.

so instead of just gaining tentacles and going tyrant mode during the apple incident he just goes feral beast mode who is currently powered by fear and anger.

After the incident nightmare doesn't have the same drive most of his counterparts would have. also his memory is pretty much wiped. though he does remember certain emotions based on objects. apples make him feel anxious so he stays away from them while he collects other things such as books because they trigger a positive emotion even if he doesn't quite remember why. or how to read. His mind is much more survival driven and doesn't really care much about multiverse domination or even revenge.

he lives in an underground cave network under Dreamtale which by this time has been transformed into a shadow Forrest full of creatures that have been affected by the corruption and negativity. The place where the village and the tree of feelings was in completely barren though and everything avoids it. The cave network is mostly long twisting tunnels nightmare has made with a few massive natural caves that the tunnels connect.

Nightmare is still well known across the multiverse as he has the ability to travel between au's and he tends to cause a bit of a panic. You see nightmare feeds entirely off of negative emotions, mostly being fear. the usual way he get fear is by finding a random person and proceeding to scare the life out of them. he tries to find people who are alone because groups tend to attack more than a lone individual. Nightmare isn't exactly murderous as... he has no need to be. he doesn't eat people so. after he gets his negative emotions he usually leaves. unless the individual decides to attack then nightmare will probably kill them.

(the gang)

the gang only involves horror, killer, and dust. idk if you could really call them a gang because they are really just... well a group of sanses nightmare has kidnapped and brought to his burrow. none of them know why. none of them know anything about nightmare. they don't even know his real name or that he has one. he just kinda kidnapped them.

Not that they really mind that much. killer and dust where pretty much in an empty world at that point. and Horror had no more desire to go back anyway because his brother had died due to starvation.

Horror was the first of the gang that nightmare surprise adopted. he has been living with nightmare for about two years now. the underground river has a abundant amount of fish plus nightmare regularly goes on supply runs and grabs whatever he thinks the smaller skeleton creatures he shares a home with would like. horror is pretty good at navigating the tunnels by now.

Killer was actually the second one to be kidnapped by Nightmare. he finds living with the equivalent of a demon dragon (minus most of the dragonish part) to be rather cool. he calls nightmare Beasty but not in a bad way. he is the only one who can call him that and makes sure everyone else knows this. spends a lot of time carving wood but nightmare takes him to the surface of the au to make sure he doesn't get to bored. nightmare has to be nearby though so "the shadow creatures" don't attack killer.

Dust has only been in the burrow for about 6 months. please help this man he is so lost. what is this place and who are these people, who knows! why is this weird slimy skeleton creature keeping him hostage? he sure doesn't know. all he knows is that at least he isn't trapped in a loop anymore.

(star sanses)

Dream doesn't know what happend to his brother. he holds onto the hope that maybe he is alive out there somewhere in the multiverse but ultimately has no idea. he made friends with blue and ink and helps them protect the multiverse from all the other dangers to the multiverse because the gang wouldn't be the only one. Dream doesn't really know of his position as guardian... no one knew... he's just the guy that was also that statue Blue found in that weird desolate au.

Blue has been a sort of multiverse guard since learning about all the au's. he always wanted to do somthing like this and finda the travel and protection of the denizens of the multiverse to be quite rewarding. though he makes sure to still spend plenty of time back in under swap with his friends and brother. Dream lives with him and his brother as he needed help adjusting to modern society and stuff. Blue has a bit of a fued against nightmare as he is attempting to figure out where he keeps coming from and why he is randomly attacking people, nightmare has not been much help in this regard.

Ink id just there because Dream and Blue are his friends. and their adventures and "quests" they go on is fun and he likes spending time with them. nightmare doesn't really care about ink. Ink can just sort of watch him do stuff and he could not care less. Ink takes this opportunity many times to draw the weird goop creature. Nightmare is a little intrigued by the fact he cannot sense any emotions from ink.

(other stuff)

this au is mainly focused on how nightmare is able to slowly find himself after the corruption shattered his mind. which he is able to do somewhat. he will never be the same though.

Dream and nightmare have an interesting relationship. neither know at first that the other is their brother. Nightmare doesn't even remember having a brother beyond a vague collection of fragmented memories and sensations. but Dream definitely feels familer... and nightmare wants to know why. Dream can sense there is something familer about nightmare as well.

This is just me having a go at (slightly) redesigning the Dreamtale twins.

These outfits aren't canon. I just wanted to see if I could tweak them a bit based on my interpretation of the two brothers.

Separate pics and thoughts below the cut.

Lots of really minor changes for Dream.

His Cape is a bit more of a standard piece of cloth. The sun emblem is still on the back, but I've removed those long ribbon things, as they seem exactly like the kind of thing that can get grabbed or caught while in battle. Dream relies on his agility - he needs to be able to duck and dive freely.

His clasp is now a simple gold star to match his circlet, and I've taken the 'DS' off his belt, since he isn't technically a 'Sans', so it never felt right to me.

His boots have added cuffs and soles to match the colour scheme on his Cape. The soles are flat again to give him more manoeuvrability on the battlefield.

His bodysuit is now dark brown instead of black. This is partially so that his whole colour scheme is inspired by sunflowers, and partially because the black feels a little too harsh to me. Brown is more warm and down-to-earth, while black tends to be associated with darkness and emptiness.

Nightmare's outfit is the biggest change of the two. I just don't see someone as commanding and theatrical as him wearing a hoodie and slippers!

Instead, I've given him a suit, a turtleneck and some dress shoes. I originally tried to give him a shirt, waistcoat and tie, but it felt a little too "mafia", so I toned it back with the sweater. I was going for more of a "business casual" vibe for him.

Also, Nightmare gets a more modern outfit, because he's been out in the Multiverse for 500+ years, so he's adapted to the trends. Dream, on the other hand, is relatively much newer to the Multiverse, so he's more comfortable sticking closer to what he remembers from his time.

Should i Rewrite Birdtale?

Birdtale was made by grayscales on AO3 but was never finished and was mainly a self-insert of the creator (as frisk). I was wondering if i should do my own take? The AU has lovely designs but sadly doesn't have any... story?? Like horrortale, dreamtale, Undertale- fell, all popular done by lore! But birdtale has nothing other then 2 chapters (if at that only 1 and a half)

Should i base it off the old story?

and if yes how many people would be interested? If you stumble on this give me your take passerby!

(i would be keeping the original designs, unless if not made then i'd try to make my own still following the cannon design) I would also try my best hell even got ideas! :D

(Edit): If your interested in this im working on it! I've actually made my own designs its called underwing and ""chapter"" 1 is out! (its text with images not a comic)

Why is Fatal Flaws JR going after Meme squad?

Is the reason different from Dreamswap?

arthur's trying to catch them, mostly miles, because 1) he knows that miles is a sorcerer, and is therefore a risk, and 2) miles is actively trying to upset the state of the government. to some degree, arthur's pursuit of him isn't as based on blind belief in a higher power as it is in dreamswap. he might even say he's doing it because he's trying to protect miles, which is kind of as pretentious as it sounds.

in dreamswap, arthur was like, in part, trying to catch the meme squad for being criminals, and mostly he was trying to catch them because of some crazy magic balance thing that uh. only makes sense in the context of dreamtale lore. something something he was trying to kill miles or replace his uh, spiritual composition since killing him is impossible?? because magic I guess. it's a bit halfhearted at this point and almost a meme.

anyway, none of that is really the same in fatal flaws. here, arthur's trying to get miles to stop opposing him because arthur has pushed forward a plan that strips magic away from people to make them 'normal', instead of just straight up imprisoning them and carting them off, which was the previous law. because people who have magic have been seen turning into monsters and are understood to be born with parasites that feed on their magic, they're viewed by the rest of the public as dangerous (also the public sucks, of course). and miles is like, hey, that's still super messed up! magic is our birthright, you can't take it away! so yeah. also miles and arthur have a personal feud because arthur himself is a magic user from the same community as him and lied about it to get into a position of political power. so yeah! miles is upset because arthur has the perceived ability to change their country and he's not doing it the way miles wants or fast enough. also he's Angry that his not-boyfriend betrayed him.

as for vick and ellie, he's not so much after vick specifically, except her suspected collaboration with miles, notable history of causing scenes and former affiliation with the guard. ellie, on the other hand, is a powerful sorcerer that appeared seemingly out of nowhere and appears to have a connection with a different underground organization that the government is trying to seek out.
