so it’s agreed that Tim and Bern adopted that cat we saw in their cover art right? Right but anyway

Tim doesn’t really feel true happiness and contentness often he always has something else in his mind he’s always doing thing he doesn’t just stop and take in the moment often

EXCEPT

when he comes home to his murder boat from a long grueling boring night of patrol to find Bernard either

a. Testing out a new recipe determined to get it right before he goes to bed (it’s 4 am)

b. Playing video games waiting for tim to get back as cover art cat lays happily purring in his lap as he fights off sleep

c. Is passed out in the couch when he tried to wait up for Tim but finals all nighter studying finally caught up to him and he fell asleep

but either way these are some of the only moments Tim puts away his mind and just takes a moment to soak it all in he brings Bernard to bed (and the cat) puts in a dumb movie to wind Bernard and him down (or just him depending on the situation) so they can actually sleep and just takes a moment to admire his wonderful boyfriend he almost never got to have but is sure as shit grateful he did get to have him

and their weird cat that just showed up one day that keeps bringing Tim slightly worrying items and dead fish as gifts

what are the slightly worrying items you ask?

well babes let me tell you

Small rock with what seemed to be blood (turned out the be a odd mixture of cranberry juice and some form of mutated melted ice cream)

small bird not native to America

but bird that was alive and seemed to be just chill with it

Jason’s favorite cooking knife (cat has never met Jason)

jasons favorite murder knife (cat still hasn’t met Jason)

tuft of fur if unidentifiable animal (Tim out it through extensive testing)

scarecrows mask when scarecrow was in Arkham

dead fish

dead fish but smaller

dead fish that seemed to have swallowed 17 pounds of rocks

Why does Twitter hate Bernard so much??? Like what the hell did he do to them?? 😭😭

They all acting as if he killed their families, I thought we were over the Bernard hate train. Like they don't understand you can still like timkon/timsteph and not pray on Bernard's downfall just for existing -

(This is from someone who loves Timber and also enjoys timkon and timsteph, they're all good pairings but holy shit why can't they accept Bernard is a good character)

this is going to include heavy Topics like sh and I don’t really know how to censor it so I’ll just say ending your life but not succeeding if you know a better way of censoring it tell me it will be helpful I don’t go into heavy detail but it is there

Tim didn’t know why didn’t he know Bernard should have told him. right? Because Bernard trusts and loves him and you tell people when you’re hurting if you trust and love them that’s what he was told it’s why he told Bernard that he was Red Robin. You may be asking your selves what didn’t Bernard tell Tim. well he didn’t tell him that he tried to kill himself. it’s a pretty big thing Tim knows why he wouldn’t. he knows why Bernard wouldn’t tell him why he only wears long sleeve shirts and why he doesn’t take his shirt off in front of anyone. Tim didn’t pry when Bernard didn’t let him go see him get a tattoo on his back. so why does it hurt so bad if he knows why Bernard didn’t. These are questions for later right now he needs to comfort his boyfriend the boyfriend that would hold him through the bad nights and pet his hair while telling him all the reasons he loved him and why in Bernard’s eyes he was the perfect man. the boyfriend who just got outed by his own parents, the parents that made him rip up love letters that he never gave. Tim the same letters Bernard still has in a little box in is closet the letters Tim pieces back together to read when they had their first fight. the letters he wished he was able to read in high school.

He can’t help but picture Bernard in a to big hospital bed. bandages rapped tightly around his wrists and lower back. He can’t help but picture it when he sees Bernard in their bed laying on his side holding his hands to his mouth. Something that Tim noticed he did almost ever night and when he’s upset and crying or sometime just does for seemingly no reason but had never asked about. He knows it started after the incident in high school science they had shared rooms back then and he had not done it back then. He slowly walked over to Bernard near his feet Bernard was starring at the wall across the bed the wall with all the photos they had together some from high school some more recent. Slowly he put a hand on Bernards ankle letting him know that he was there Bernard didn’t even twitch he just stared. Tim slowly began to say “I know you had your reasons and that it felt like it was your only option but” he paused and took a deep breath “ you have more options now you don’t have to tell me why and I wont ask unless you want me to but you need to know that I’m here now and your not alone” Tim didn’t take his eyes off the floor till he was done talking he slowly turned his head to look at Bernard.

Bernard had moved his hands they were now laying limply by his face. the face that was looking at Tim like it had never heard something like that like it was the first time someone had every told him that they cared. Bernard slowly licked his lips and began to say words Tim didn’t want to hear “I tried to kill myself” Tim never wanted to hear that from Bernard but he knew he needed to “I used to hurt myself I don’t anymore I’m better now” can I ask why you did it “ I lost the only people who had ever cared for me my family my true family” Tim almost chocked when he heard that he knew Bernard meant him and Darla and it broke him even more knowing he can only get one of them back. So with a breath he asked “and why you stopped” Bernard paused and looked at him slowly sitting up looking Tim in the eyes now “ I found my family, it didn’t stop right away but it slowed” Tim felt his heart clench hearing that it it was still happening in the early stages of their relationship

“I have been clean for a year for 9 months” Tim and Bernard have been dating for two years Tim slowly wrapped his arms around his boyfriend his Bernard the love of his life. They slowly laid back down Tim rubbing his hand down Bernard’s back whispering praises for being clean for being strong for Simply being him. Tim had made a mental note to force Bernard to be the little spoon more often and more one more to tell him how much he loved him and to sing him praises every single day they would be ok.
