If you’re not aware, Hiroshima and Nagasaki were deliberately not bombed with the firebombs that destroyed most of Tokyo and other Japanese cities in 1945 because they were two of a number of cities deliberately selected as locations for atomic bombings.
They wanted a “pristine” test of their new weapon on a previously undamaged city.
The US knew those cities were full of civilian refugees when they bombed them. They had herded them there.
it's always funny to go back to some like heavensward dungeon and realize how much the ensuing expansions have finely honed my expectations and reflexes for mechanics without me even realizing it. like oh. i could do this in my sleep. there's only one or two aoes at a time. everything is telegraphed for so long before it goes off. where's the 18000 aoes all stacked on top of each other leaving one single sliver of safe space in the corner furthest away from me that all go off after half a second while the boss steals my identity and ruins my credit bc i was looking in the wrong direction
I don't really have an strong opinion about this but it really is something hard not to empathize with to some extent. Like, I feel this is something that is so normalized in the west, whereas like, any mention of a comparatively bad event within that society, like 9/11, is a completely no go in mainstream media. And it's just taken as self-evident that one is inherently more toxic to joke about, even if it's just alluding to a similar event, than the other. Like if you marketed a comedy film with a plane intentionally crashing into a building there'd be a million fucking americans incensed about it calling for a mass boycott, and they'd inspire similar sentiment across the west just because it's taken as a objective fact that that's a cruel thing to make light of, even though it's a very broad concept. But we're almost geared to take the Japanese being very sensitive to the portrayal of something mostly only they have been subjected to as being hysterical and overreacting
Ran into another ad for Nexus War: Origins while browsing YouTube, which combines the two other Nexus War ads on this blog and the return of our favourite heroine: Crime Robot Girl.
Seeing them back to back shows even more how much the two of them are the exact same model with different skins and very probably AI-generated.
Anyway, this ad provides us with useful information because now we know the agility is stored in the butt.
(Ad for Nexus War: Origins a.k.a. Nexus War: Civilization, Phantix Games)
