Stupid Ex
Summary: An ex of Qi Xiaotian tries to claim his and Red's new baby is his. The flaming calf. The flaming calf that looks just like Red.
“Look at her…”
“She’s so little!” Long Xiaojiao cooed, snapping a picture with visible tears beading up in her eyes. Pigsy and Tang were close to bursting into tears as well, either gripping each other or the frame of the bed that their son lay in. Qi Xiaotian smiled happily, even with exhaustion glazing over his eyes.
Their smiles and tears surrounded the little bundle Xiaotian held. A small scarlet calf slept in the soft gold blanket, nestled safe and close to the baba she had just come out of screaming barely an hour ago. According to the nurses and the doctor, she was very healthy and very adorable, both of which Xiaotian agreed with. Even better, she had inherited Red’s features, including the bull true form. (Hey, sue him, he was still adjusting to his monkey form.)
“Where’s Red?” Xiaojiao asked, breaking him out of his admiration. “I thought he would be here, all over you two.”
Xiaotian felt a snicker come out at the mention of his spouse. “He burst into happy tears when he saw her,” he said. Red had barely been able to hold his daughter, sobbing threats at the Buddha for making something so defenseless so small. “I honestly thought he would pass out with how hard he was crying, so I sent him to get some air and let his parents know Huiying’s here.”
The doors slammed open.
“Oh, speak of-” Xiaotian felt the words die down when he saw the look on his spouse’s face. Sun Wukong and Red’s parents trailed behind, exchanging concerned looks, and Xiaotian could see why.
Red looked pissed. The quiet kind, the kind that couldn’t even light his hair. The set to his jaw and the cold fire in his eyes relaxed, just a little, when they met eyes. So Xiaotian was pretty sure he wasn’t pissed at him.
“Oh, look at her!” Sun Wukong was there, forcing Xiaotian to look away from Red. “Mind if I hold her, kid?”
“Sure!” Xiaotian passed Huiying over. His daughter made a little noise, but settled in the king’s arms easily. “Be careful around Red, we don’t him to pass out from all the tears.”
“Nah, DBK’s the guy you wanna be concerned around,” Wukong chuckled, flashing a grin at his former sworn brother. “Right, bud?”
DBK snorted about how he was a mighty demon king, he didn’t cry over a baby, only for him to see Huiying and have tears bead up. The scene of his father-in-law, the mighty Demon Bull King, crying over his daughter should’ve delighted Xiaotian. It did, but Red’s anger burned at the back of his mind. A warm hand wrapped around his, and he looked away from Iron Fan cooing over Huiying’s little hooves up at Red.
His spouse met his eyes.
“I’ll tell you later,” he said, too quietly for anyone else to hear them. “Once we’re home.”
“...Okay.”
-_-
Red didn’t explain when they got home. At least, not immediately.
Three days passed. To be fair, they were an extremely busy three days, with adjusting to having the actual baby home, greeting guests, and planning Huiying’s 100th day celebration. His family were all great help, but it was still an adjustment. Xiaotian had nearly put Red’s weird expression out of his mind until the fourth afternoon, when he was feeding Huiying. His spouse settled across from him.
“Hey, what’s for lunch?” Xiaotian asked, coming to a pause when he looked up. Red had that same cold fury in his eyes. “What’s wrong?”
“So, I must ask…do you know of a man named Chen Zixin?”
Xiaotian blinked at the random question. “Zixin? The name sounds familiar, yeah, but…” Something tugged at his mind at it. The name sounded familiar, and Xiaotian’s gut twisted unpleasantly. “I think he’s an ex of mine?”
Red nodded. “I figured.” He took in a deep breath. “Now, I need to let you know, I am not accusing you of doing anything. I am not upset at you.”
Something cold shot down his spine. “What…what happened?”
Red pulled out his phone. “He called me while I was trying to call my parents. He texted me when he couldn’t get in touch with me. I did block his number, but I saved the texts in case.” Xiaotian exchanged Huiying, still contently sucking on her bottle, for Red’s phone. He had already pulled up the screenshots.
Unknown Number: Hey, you're Red, right? Married to Qi Xiaotian?
Me: Do you care to explain why you are trying to communicate with me? I am very busy today.
Unknown Number: Okay, easy, dude. My name is Chen Zixin and I'm an ex of Xiaotian's.
Me: I do not see the point.
Unknown Number: I hate to drop this on you, but Xiaotian and I got back into contact nearly a year ago. I swear, I didn't know he was with someone. But I need to tell you that there's a good chance that his baby's mine.
The moment he read the last line, his stomach dropped.
"Red, I swear, I didn't-"
Warm lips pressed against his forehead. "I know you didn't." Red glanced down at his phone and barely managed a chuckle. "He's so stupid. I asked him what his proof was. Go to my files, I labeled the proof as Idiot."
Xiaotian did, barely resisting a snicker at the file name. What popped up were the screenshots that Red had shown him and more screenshots. He felt a brow raise as he looked the other screenshots over. It looked like a few weeks' worth of talking between Zixin and "him." It was all steamy sex talk, including nudes. At the first one, conveniently cut off under his face, Xiaotian felt himself pause, connecting the dots.
"He doesn't know you changed your number, for one thing," Red chuckled, sounding a bit happier. His tone turned sweet and adoring as he looked down at Huiying. "And he doesn't know Baba got top surgery before we were blessed with you, yes, he doesn't know..."
Xiaotian chuckled. "Plus, I am not that skinny." He paused as a thought occurred to him. "Hey, should we tell whoever's picture this is that he's using their picture?"
Red chuckled a little bit harder, sitting down next to him. "No need. I reverse-Googled it. It's an art model picture, and it’s literally the first image that pops up when you Google “art model”."
"Oh, great!" Well, that left one other thing. "What should we do about Zixin, though?" The fact that an ex he barely remembered had popped out of the woodwork to try and claim paternity of his daughter was... worrying. “Did you tell him off or something?”
"Don't worry." Red grinned like a cat who had gotten the cream. "I told him that he was an idiot, and since our wonderful daughter has not inherited your lovely features-"
"Stop it."
"That he was an idiot, that his accusation alone showed that he had no knowledge of who you were as a person, and I pray that he never passed down his genes if he ever actually had a child."
"...Wow." Scam callers alone never bothered them again once Red got on the phone, so Xiaotian's concern was washed away by a wave of relief. "So, since that's dealt with, what's for lunch?"
"I have that handled."
-_-
The next week or two were quiet. Qi Xiaotian assumed that Zixin had gotten the hint and had decided to leave his weird quest to claim Huiying as his child behind. Good for him. Xiaotian was more focused on his family.
Like today!
Pigsy had finally gotten the money and permission to extend the noodle shop. It was now bigger and better but still affordable and delicious. People were gathered around, watching as Pigsy pulled out big scissors. Xiaotian, Tang, and Xiaojiao stood on the side, with Tang beaming and Xiaojiao snapping a hundred photos. Xiaotian felt his chest squeeze tight with pride as Pigsy cut the red ribbon.
Or maybe that was Huiying, rubbing her cheek against his chest from where she was nestled in her sling.
It was probably both.
Yeah, it was both.
As people trickled in, Tang calling dibs on getting the first bowl, Xiaotian found himself next to his Dadsy, hugging him tight. "Oh, I am so proud of you!"
Pigsy patted his back. "Couldn't have done it without you, kid," he said into his shoulder. "You've been a massive help with everything."
"I don't feel like I was," Xiaotian grumbled as he pulled away. "I barely got in a week of helping the construction." The moment Pigsy learned he was expecting, Xiaotian was banned from helping. All he could do from there was help Pigsy make sure that everything legal was squared away, do some marketing on social media, and taste-test Pigsy’s new dishes.
Pigsy sighed, reaching up and patting his head. "You were there for me, son. That's more help than I'll ever need. Plus," His tone turned even more adoring as he reached out, stroking Huiying's little cheek. She made a little noise at the affectionate gesture, and Xiaotian felt his heart melt. "I wanted things to be ready so my granddaughter has something to be proud of!"
Xiaotian chuckled at Huiying's little snort. "Oh, yeah. I can't wait for her to be old enough to help out-"
"MONKIE KID!"
"Oh great." The peace couldn't last this long, could it? Red wasn't even here yet to provide commentary. Xiaotian sighed and turned to the twin demons, striking a pose. Was it just him, or did they look pissed? "What do you two want?"
"We finally have a way to defeat you!" Yin bellowed. "Although I expected better of you!"
"Yeah!" Jin said, and yeah, that was a glare. "Who knew the Monkie Kid was a filthy cheater?"
Wait, what. "I'm not a cheater."
"That's not what this fine gent says!" They moved, revealing a guy. "Remember him?"
Xiaotian squinted. The guy looked familiar, he guessed? He looked like a hundred other guys he saw on the street. "Not really?" Yin, Jin, and the guy all blinked. He glanced at Pigsy, who was also squinting. "Pigsy, do you know him?"
"I...think?"
"Oh, come on, enough of this bullshit!" The guy yelled. "You know me! I'm the father-" Wait. Waaaait. “I can’t believe you’re still lying!”
"You're Zixin?"
The guy paused, blinking. Yin and Jin looked a little nervous, jumping when there was a yell of "YES!" The guy moved forward, but one of the twins grabbed his arm. "And I know that baby's mine, you can't deny it."
"My dude," Xiaotian felt a snicker rise up. "My dude, I barely remember you. Why would I fuck some guy I barely remembered?"
"I don't know! You're probably lying." The guy gestured to Yin and Jin. "But these fine blokes are gonna help me take back my baby!"
The demon twins blinked before exchanging looks.
"Oh, yeah."
"Right!"
Xiaotian blinked, and then, instead of standing on the sidewalk, he stood on a stage. Several people, including Pigsy, Tang, and Xiaojiao, sat in the stands. A big, flashing sign lit up, spelling out WHO'S THE BABY DADDY in neon.
Xiaotian sighed, glancing over at his family. Pigsy had pulled out his phone while Xiaojiao was snickering and recording. Tang just looked amused. Good. He wanted to save this. Maybe he could get some videos from the cameras perched everywhere?
"So!" Yin and Jin appeared, both dressed in suits and ignoring Zixin throwing up in the background. "We have a contested custody battle here!"
"This fine gentleman claims that the Monkie Kid's baby is his!"
"And the Monkie Kid's husband..."
"Isn't here," Xiaotian said before the spotlight could move. "And, I would like to make a point before you three humiliate each other even further." Yin and Jin blinked again. Xiaotian didn’t wait for the response. “My baby,” he said. "You mean this baby?"
Xiaotian couldn't help the smirk that rose up when he revealed Huiying's little face, and Yin and Jin's faces dropped. "This baby," he repeated, holding her up for the cameras to see. Several coos and gasps of adoration filled the stadium- before Huiying sneezed. As people screamed in shock at the flames, Xiaotian stared down Yin, Jin, and Zixin. "This baby," he said. "You're claiming that this baby isn't Red Son's?"
Red snorted, looming over them. All three of them jolted, meaning none of them had seen Red stalk through the audience and now loom, Xiaotian's inner sex kitten purring at the beast.
That was his husband.
That was the only possible father of this and any future children.
"Heyyy Red Son!"
"Look, we just wanted to make sure-"
"YOU STOLE MY-"
Yeah, definitely the only father.

Can I request a fic for Mk, with a female reader who is obviously in love with him- doing stuff for him, giving compliments, just being an overall 'no. 1' fan for Mk- but yet the reader doesn't really realize they actually are in love?

“You don’t see it?!"
Mei had sat you down, saying she had to have the ‘talk’ with you, what kind of ‘talk’ was this?! “What do you mean?” You looked confused. What was she even talking about? She squints her eyes at you. “Mk! That’s what I’m talking about!” That still doesn’t help you understand what she was talking about.
"What about Mk?”
“Ugh..you like, Mk! You compliment him, you cheer him on, hang with him more than anyone!" You blink back at her. “Mk… Well, I don’t think I like him like that. It just feels nice that I’m around  you."She makes a face, like you said something really stupid.
“you think? everyone knows!”  She puts her hands in her hair and starts pacing around, making you sort of rethink your feelings. “Maybe I do, but it’s not like he’d like me back." She stops, and she looks at you again.
“Mk never looks at someone the way he looks at you!”
She says it with such conviction that it’s hard to deny. She grabs your hands, squeezing them. You feel your heart beat faster at the idea of him, and you... you can't; you’re just imagining it! “No way he likes me; Mei, he’s always nice to everyone.”
Hearing those words just makes her snap, let go of your hands, put her hands on your shoulders, and shake you real good. “Damn it, women! He likes. you. Back. You hear me!"
She shakes you again when you nod, and she smiles, satisfied now. “another romance that was going to have miscommunication saved by me,” Mei says proudly of herself. She walks away (so you can think about your conversation) from you, smiling, clutching your chest, and feeling your heart flutter slowly and more as you think about it and get familiar with the idea of you and Mk.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Stuck in your mind thinking about what Mei said while watching Mk fight the silver and gold brothers again for the 10th time this month, which always ended the same way with Mk winning and going to celebrate with you.
Thinking about the times you spent with each other and the things hinting that he liked you, you couldn’t help but start overthinking everything you both did together, how he talked to you compared to others, giving you noodles for no reason behind pigsys back, and many other things.
“I did it! Didn’t I look so  cool?"Mk yelled at you after defeating the two brothers, but looking at him made you nervous and flustered at the same time. “You looked so amazing, Mk!” You cheered back as he ran up to you and hugged you, embracing him with a smile on your face.
You could feel your body tense up from your embrace, seeing Mei watching from the distance, but you could see her face clearly, which was ‘you better confess'. You ignored her; how could she expect you to confess to him so soon?!
You moved back. “We should celebrate! Where should we go?" Mk started asking you while scratching the back of his head, thinking about where to go.
“Wanna go to the anti-gravity arcade?"
"Sure, I would love to." You smiled at him. He grabbed your hand and started running towards the arcade. “We’re going to have so much fun!” those words, which is what he always says whenever you go to the arcade.
You felt your chest explode, your face all red, but you were grateful that you were a little behind while you held hands and ran together. You can’t say it now, not yet! but you’ll tell him in time, just not now.

Yune, the Host of the Lady Bone Demon (TWST x LMK)
this is a little funky crossover thing I did for Twisted Wonderland and LEGO Monkie Kid :)
Tumblr media
kinda spoilers for season 4 in the post-possession part
Yune Pre-possession
Yune is a very kind person, they’re a bit shy too and a bit of a pushover
They like cute things, mainly animals and flowers
Especially likes cats
Took in strays and volunteers at the local animal shelter
They’re unassuming and as normal as you can get in their crazy city
Average grades, a nice group of school friends
Normal
A bit boring, right?
“Come on, Kitty.” Yune grunted as they stood on their tiptoes in some random alleyway, trying to catch their cat to bring them back home.
Their cat, however, seemed to enjoy putting Yune through the ringer in trying to catch it. The tabby got up from where it had loafed and jumped over a wall into the alleyway on the other side of the street.
Yune slumped and groaned. “Come on!”
A blue light caught their eye and they turned, startling when they see a wispy fog rise like mist, then screaming when the fog came straight at them.
It forced itself down their throat, like if they allowed an unwelcome guest into their home. They choked and collapsed, feeling hot and cold at the same time, they shuddered as the mist spread through their veins, then gasped as it was all finished.
A numbness came with possession, they were helpless.
Their mind blinked like a light went off, and the spirit took control of her new host with a maniacal laugh.
~~~
Yune Lady Bone Demon
the Lady Bone Demon took to her new host like a fish to water
Everything continues on as normal in the Monkie Kid canon, except Yune is the one the LBD has under her control
starting with aiding the Spider Queen
she makes the spiders collect all the artefacts she needs
she’s the one making Yune manipulate and torment MK
she’s the one who attacks
she’s the one who holds Macaques life over his head and the one who takes control of Wukong and his powers
all the while, Yune is in a comatose like state in their own mind
of course, everything turns out alright in the end, MK and his team stop the Lady Bone Demon, save the world, and help Yune heal
“So, you thought you had all the pieces right where you wanted them.” Sun Wukong glared at the demon who possessed a literal teen.
A whole new low for the Lady Bone Demon.
“I have so many pieces I’ve yet to play.” She spoke through the child, wearing their face and morphing it into an evil smirk.
Wukong growled as he and the demon initiated a fight, which ultimately led to him being held hostage in the webs of the Spider Queen.
He made a vow that night that he would stop her in any way he could.
~~~
Yune Post-possession
Yune was p passed out for a few days after being separated from the Lady Bone Demon
from beginning to end, the possession lasted a month
but even then, the lack of control they felt during the entire thing terrified them immensely
slowly, they begin recovering
they’re eating noodles at Pigsy’s, taking therapy sessions with Sandy and his cats, and they feel comforted knowing that their new friends have their back
until they don’t
SEASON 4 SPOILERS JUST IN CASE
so azure is casually breaking apart the universe, as one does
and in canon, we see the original host girl watching the chaos unfold
replace her with Yune
and add in the fact that they fall into one of these rifts
yeah, things aren’t going so great
this rift transports Yune to the world of Twisted Wonderland
so travelling to a new world and becoming the unspoken therapist to a bunch of mentally unstable boys, ADD IN THE FACT THAT THEY TOO ARE A MENTALLY UNSTABLE PERSON and they have to deal with other people’s problems, plus their own post-possession mental breakdowns
EQUALS STRESS INCARNATE
YUNE IS NOT HAVING A GOOD TIME
someone give them a hug :(
Grim curled up next to Yune's head carefully, making sure not to wake them up from their sleep.
They were having a nightmare... they were crying.
Grim nuzzled their face and went back to sleeping.
They stopped crying.

Unique Family
Chapter Two
A/n: Hello, I just wanted to thank you for everyone's patience with this chapter. Life has been a bit of a drag but hell or high water i will keep writing. * sorry for some grammar errors
You were dreaming about days before the incident. You were happy until you kept hearing whispers around you. You started to wake up and rubbed your eyes. "They're waking up Pigsy," one of the voices said. You began to open your eyes to the bright sun and saw two people. Well, one person with glasses and a pig demon, both looking at you in confusion. You instantly shot up and grabbed a stick nearby. How long have they been there? You questioned yourself as you stared daggers at them. "Who are you?" You hissed at them.
They put their hands up to show they mean no harm. " Um, I'm Tang, and this is Pigsy. We were here to look for some answers about this spot." The man named Tang shakenly said. "Really?" You said as you looked into Tang's eyes, looking for deception. You only found fear, confusion, and concerns. You turn to the pig demon named Pigsy and see his eye filled with fury instead. You felt your defensive rise and held the stick tighter.
" Your friend seems like he wants to fight someone." You said to Tang before Pigsy spoke. "So let me get this straight, you are a child abandoned in this large place with no one to take care of you." You were shocked by what he said. He was angry, but not at what you are but how you are a kid and alone. "Yeah, so what?" You questioned because you never met anyone who would worry about you and your state of living. Usually, they wanted your head or your heart in their hand.
"So what?!" Pigsy exclaim as what seems to be turning red. Tang saw his husband getting angrier. He looked at him, dose his best to calm him down. "Pigsy, I know you're angry, but we need to be calm if we want them to trust us." He said as he nudged his head at you. You were confused about why he was mad? It made you climb in the tree and carefully watch them. Pigsy agreed with Tang. He realized he made you more defensive and took deep breaths. "Sorry. It's just that you're a child. You shouldn't be alone. Especially when you are in a place like this." He said with sincerity in his voice. He was worried about you, which was unusual. Maybe it's because it's been a long time since someone seemed to care about you. You shook your head and focused on the duo that came to your home.
" Why are you guys here? " You questioned them. "Well, our friends came to this village and heard a tale. We're wondering what was going on? Cause some parts made little sense." Tang said while making you worry a bit and asking. "How many more are you?" Pigsy notices you were getting a bit tense and replies. "There are three more, but they are not here to hurt you. Two teens with too much energy and another that's a huge softie, but all three love to help people in need." He looked at you with honesty and hoped it made you reassure. It didn't help that there were more people, but you could tell he wasn't lying about the others.
"How do I know I can trust you in what you're looking for?" You said squinting your eyes are them. Tang tries to think of an idea, but Pigsy beats him to it. "I may have something. Tang, wait here," Pigsy said before rushing to the van. You didn't understand what was happening and were very confused. Tang grins a bit as if he may know what's happening. "What happening? Where is he going?" You asked the man with glasses as you see the pig demon reach the van. You also see the three people there, seeming to ask Pigsy what was happening. "Making something for you. That may help you trust us," Tang smiled at you while you were curious about what Pigsy could be doing. It was a silence between the both of you.
"Do you mind if I ask who was she?" Tang said with caution in his voice and broke the silence. He looked at the picture of Mimi. You bite your lip before responding to his questions. "That's my Mimi." You said quietly enough for him to hear you. "How long have you been alone here?" Tang asked out of nowhere. You thought about it for a bit before responding, "two years? I think." You said proudly about having survived this long. Tang was surprised by your answer.
Before he could ask you more questions, you saw Pigsy come over with a bowl of noodles. "Here, Some of the best noodles." He said as he placed the bowl down on the shrine carefully. You took a look at the bowl before climbing down. Both men made space for you to feel comfortable. You took one look at it and saw nothing wrong, even trying to smell something off, but it made your stomach growl. You heard a chuckle from Pigsy before he spoke to you. "Don't worry. We didn't add anything that will hurt you. I promise." You thought about it for a moment. They haven't done anything to make you worry about them or doubt their intention. At least not yet.
You took a pair of chopsticks and ate a small bite. Your mouth filled with amazing flavors. You didn't notice your tail wagged around in delight as you ate. The two men were worried about how quickly you were eating and that you could choke. Which you kind of were as you scarfed down the noodles. You coughed a bit before feeling a pat on your back. When you breathed normal again, you saw Tang patting your back. "Woah there. His food is good but don't die eating it." He said you felt safe with them. You didn't notice as they sat beside you as you finished eating. You dashed off as you finished the noodles. You left the duo baffled and about to chase after you. But you came back before they got up. You held some (F/f) and handed it to them. "Here, now we're even," you said as you sat back down. Tang and Pigsy look at the ripe fruit before taking a bit. The couple was surprised by the sweetness and flavor.
"Well, you guys appear to be kind. My name is (Y/n). So what would you like to know?" You said as you turned to face them. Tang spoke up as he finished the fruit, "can we hear your side of this story the village seems to be talking about?" Pigsy agreed with his partner. Both were curious about you and how you lived like this. You pause for a moment. No one ever wanted to hear your side. They just wanted to harm you. You clear your throat before speaking, "well, you guys will be the first. Most people who come here…" You felt a wave of sadness wash over you as you said the last part. "just want me dead." Tang and Pigsy seem to have noticed it. "If your uncomfortable talking about it, you don't have to," Pigsy spoke as he moved closer and patted your back. You felt a calmness as he did, feeling your guard dropping."No, I'm fine…" You said, unsure about how you felt after everything you have gone through.
"I was found by Mimi when I ran away from another demon wanting to eat me. She was the only person that cared about me and kept me safe." You remember the days of being with Mimi and having fun with her. You bite your bottom lip as you continue, "But then those people believed I was hurting her. Controlling her to be my slave. I wasn't!" You didn't notice your tail hitting the ground hard at first but slowed down as you recall the incident. "Then they came to our home. They wanted me… Mimi did her best to stop them, but… But…" You started to tear up and felt the frustration of everything that happened that day.
You tried your best to wipe the tears away but more kept falling. A hand-rubbed your back to soothe you. You turn to see who it was and Tang. He also had some tears as he hugged you. You turn to see Pigsy sniffling, and trying his best not to cry or get furious. After you took a few deep breaths you continued, "They took her away from me. They ended up hurting her a lot, and she passed away… I got mad and hurt them back." You hugged your knees. You were waiting for them to be afraid of you. Because you are that monster, they say you are. You thought as you waited for something to happen.
But nothing. You only felt two pairs of arms hugging you. You were puzzled about what was happening. "Aren't you guys scared of me?" you asked them. They shook their head in response. "No (Y/n), how can we be scared of a kid who lost their family," Tang said, wiping his tears. "You have done a lot for someone your age. I'm sure Mimi would be proud of you, (Y/n)." Pigsy said, smiling as he cleaned his eyes. You felt your heart break in a way. You hugged Pigsy surprising him, but he hugged back, and Tang joined in. Pigsy felt your tears fall on his chef's jacket. They felt like Mimi as you hugged them. You all silence sat for a while as you sniffled and snuggled your face in Pigsy's arm. You didn't realize the emotional weight you carried. Being alone, dealing with attacks daily, and outcasted as the villain. You fell asleep in the warmness of the two. As you closed your eyes, you heard a familiar voice in your ear.
"You're doing wonderful (Y/n)." You shot your eyes open to find yourself in a familiar setting. The place where you both met, looking up at her as she smiled at you. You bit your lip before leaping into her arms. "MIMI! You're here! Please don't go!" Mimi smiled sadly and brushed your hair before speaking. "I wish that could be possible, but it's not, you know that, kid." She grabbed your cheek and stared into your crying eyes. "(Y/n), I want you to live a better life, even if it's without me and this place." She brushed your tears with her thump.
You didn't want to leave this place, your home. "What, why?" You asked her, a bit surprised. "Because it's time to move on and find another family that cares about you." She said as she showed you embracing Tang and Pigsy. "How do you know that they'll accept me?" You questioned her and why them? "Do you trust me (Y/n)?" Mimi asked you. You nodded in response. "Then know that they will accept you." She kissed your forehead before her body started to disappear into light.
~Back with Pigsy and Tang~
Pigsy felt the kid's small body getting a bit heavier and looked down at (Y/n), seeing that they were asleep. "Hehe, the kid fell asleep. We should take them into their home." Pigsy said as he carried (Y/n) back to the group as the sun started setting. Tang smirked as he watched his husband holding the demon child. "We'll stay here and wait here until (Y/n) is awake. Maybe even ask them to come with us." Tang said as they watched the trio thrilled to see them intact. They see the mysterious figure they were carrying. Pigsy nodded in agreement with what Tang proposed. When Mk, Mei, and Sandy saw (Y/n), they were confused but still found them adorable.
Pigsy carried the kid inside to their bed, the group in awe at his action. He gave them a threatening glare before they left the child alone to rest. Tang and Pigsy told them (Y/n) story. The group stood shocked by how (Y/n) lived alone and the things they went through. "So what now?" Mei asked as she turned to Tang and Pigsy. "We wait until they are awake and ask them if they want to come with us," Tang said. "We can't leave a kid alone with people trying to hurt them," Pigsy added to his husband's sentence. "I hope they want to join us," Mk said, unsure about what could happen if (Y/n) didn't want to leave.
Before they think of a plan of what could happen if (Y/n) decided to stay. But the group turned to the hallway when a small yawn was heard. It was a sleepy and upset (Y/n) holding their tail for comfort. They thought that the duo had left them alone. Tang and Pigsy saw them shaking a bit before one got up. "Tang? Pigsy?" (Y/n) whimper before feeling a pair of arms pick them up and carry them. Tang carried (Y/n) to the others while Mei and Mk died from the cuteness. (Y/n) was too tried to have noticed the three new faces in their home. They wrapped their arms around Tang's neck, snuggling into his scarf, and whispered.
"Please, don't leave me." Tang rubbed circles on their back and sat down next to Pigsy. "We aren't going anywhere without you," Tang quietly said. The group saw (Y/n) smile before napping on his shoulder. The gangs had their mindset. They have to take (Y/n) home or sway them to come. Before they knew it, the moon was up in the sky, and they decided to camp for the night. Mei Mk and Sandy slept in the van while Pigsy and Tang slept inside with (Y/n). They were still clinging on to Tang.

🫂 between Wukong and Sandy? Please?
Wukong was cold.
He couldn't remember a time when he wasn't cold, but he does remember that he wasn't always cold. He knew that the cold had gotten worse lately. He blamed it on LBD but it wasn't until more recent events that the cold seemed to be worse.
It was almost unbearable.
He wore whatever warm clothes he could despite it being the middle of summer. Sweaters and sweatpants were his go-to for everything but that just made him uncomfortable. He made his skin fill hot and flush, almost feverish and sweaty, but the inside chill remained.
It was so cold.
"Mr. Monkey King?" Sandy asked, walking over to Wukong who was sitting in the sun, wrapped up in his long warm clothing, and even using a blanket to try to warm up. "Are you sick?"
"No... just cold."
Sandy frowned, "May I touch your head? I want to make sure you're not overheating."
Wukong hesitated, he didn't know Sandy yet. But at the same time he did. He knew his soul as Sha Wujing; healed, repaired, reborn. He also knew him as one of MK's closest friends. A trusted friend and ally present life and current one.
"Sure." Wukong finally said.
Sandy smiled, then reached over and gently put his hand on his forehead with a concerned look. But while Sandy was worrying about - whatever it was he was worrying about - Wukong realized that Sandy was warm. The type of warm that he had been looking for.
"You're overheating a bit. How about we get you into lighter clothes? Or at least get you in the shade and get some water in you?" He asked, moving his hand as Wukong chittered sadly causing Wukong to blush as Sandy frowned. "Mr. Monkey King?"
"You're... you're warm. Sorry..." Wukong said.
Sandy's eyes widened. "Oh! I think I know why you're cold."
Wukong perked a bit. "You do?"
"Yeah. Here, let's go to the shade and I'll help you get warm."
This felt like a trap, but he was so desperate he didn't question it as he got up and walked to the shade. He let Sandy take the blanket from his shoulder, laying it down on the grass before he held his arms out to Wukong.
Wukong tilted his head. "Hugs?"
"Hugs." Sandy said.
Wukong raised a brow, this was totally a trap. But his could hear the others in the distance, they weren't going to jump him or hurt him or anything. Ah, why the fuck not. If Sandy wanted a hug he could have a hug.
Wukong walked over, wrapping his arms around Sandy's middle while Sandy hugged him back, towering over him as he rubbed circles on Wukong's back.
The affect was immediate. It was warm. Really warm.
Wukong let the tension leave his shoulders as he put his cheek against Sandy's stomach, his tail dropping as he just held on. Sandy didn't react and instead just kept hugging him and petting down his hair.
"It's warm..." Wukong whispered.
"I'm glad. How long have you been cold, Mr. Monkey King?"
"I... I don't know." Wukong said, refusing to let go. He was finally warm, he wasn't going to let the warmth go now. "Probably not too long... what's wrong with me? Am I sick?"
"No, you're not sick. You're touch starved."
"Touch...?"
"Yeah. It feels really cold, deep inside. Like a cold pit in the middle of your chest or even your stomach. You don't even realize it's there at first until you feel like the cold is crushing you. But it can be fixed like this."
"Oh... but it won't infect you, right?"
Sandy chuckled, "No, it won't. You can always ask me for hugs though when you feel cold. I also know that MK and Mei can help you. Tang would love hugs, but I know he makes you nervous a bit so you don't have to force yourself to be with him if you're not comfortable with him. Pigsy will be confused but he won't turn you down either." Sandy promised.
Wukong hummed softly, closing his eyes. "Tang only makes me nervous cuz he asks a lot of questions and praises me just a bit too much. Yeah, I'm... I'm pretty great... I guess. But I also don't like being reminded of all that stuff all the time. I get hugs from MK now and then but they're short. Mei and Pigsy though... I don't think they like me, so maybe not them. But... but you feel safe. You feel familiar. So maybe you and the kid will be okay until I get to know the others better."
"That's just fine, Mr. Monkey King. I love hugs."
"Sandy?"
"Yeah?"
"Just call me Wukong, okay?"
"Okay, Wukong, my friend." Sandy said and Wukong let out a slow breath.
Hugs.
Who would have guessed?

Another little late night drabble, more shadowpeach since you guys seem to like the other one :)
Cw/tw for alcohol and mentions of Macaque's death
Sun Wukong awoke, feeling his golden eyes sting as he realized just how bright the room around him had become.
He groaned. Tossing over in the messy covers of his bed, where upon finding he wasn't alone in said mattress. The stone glanced down at the darker furred frame that laid snuggled up against his side, sleeping soundly and rather comfy he might add.
The other frame was Macaque, of course, Sun could recognize that monkey any where.
He sighed quietly, the monkey beside him ears twitching every so slightly at the sound causing him to stir briefly. The sage held his breath, something he didn't need anymore anyway, waiting as the demon monkey shifted closer and lulled back to sleep. Macaque could never sleep through all noise, having six ears made it so he hear from miles away and issue to find quiet time.
Speaking of Macaque's ears, he could see all six of them. The ears that gave the trickster his title, "Six-Earred Macaque." The glamour he used every day had worn off late in the night, putting everything he tried to hide to light. His ears, the scar that went across his right eye, the white fur that was left from Lady Bone Demon. All of it. It took all of Monkey King's strength to not brush his fingers in the other monkey's fur, or across his ears since would surely wake him.
The Great Sage sighed again softly, attempting to be quiet for the enemy he had clinging to his frame.
Though enemy didn't feel right, not after what had happened last night.
He had been drunk, they both had been. The last time he remembered being that sloshed was when he had drank stolen immortal elixir from heaven all those years ago.
Sun Wukong couldn't remember how it had started, whether it was him or Macaque, they had gotten into a contest to see who could drink the most between the two of them.
Soon enough the drinks had been forgotten and the pair had gotten on the topic of the old days, sharing stories as if that had still been as they were when the stories took place.
It had started light. Talking about Flower Fruit Mountain and the fun they had with the other monkeys.
But then the mood changed as Wukong had callously mentioned something that had happened on the journey he had took to the west, with Triptaka and the others.
He had mentioned the time Triptaka and Pigsy had become pregnant when they had stumbled upon the city of women. Monkey King had been chuckling slightly as he was recounting the story when he had noticed his drinking buddy had become silent, his laughing dying in his throat in an instant.
"I had been mad, back then, when you had killed me Wukong" Macaque had stated that night, gripping his glass tightly in his hands which had been barely been touched since they started telling stories; too busy hazely listening.
"But," the darker monkey added sharply, "I had been more upset that you had chosen them over me." The way Macaque looked at him that night had overwhelmed him, his eyes holding an unwavering honesty he hadn't seen in them in mere centuries. Holding all the anguish and hurt the monkey felt for him in those eyes. "You had chosen to protect them, to go against me, and I had wanted to be the one you were trying so hard to protect.." he finished as his voice threatened to crack, tears pooling at the edge of his eyes. He had always been an emotional drinker.
Sun Wukong had sat shocked in that moment, the alcohol not helping him process what was happening, his mouth agape.
"I don't regret protecting them that day," the sage had suddenly, breaking the other monkey from the daze he'd been in. Macaque sort of nervously chuckled at that, "I don't doubt it."
Sun Wukong stared into his mug, his brain mildly buzzing as he had begun to swoosh around an imaginary liquid inside the cup. He had already finished the contents but the motion helped distract him while he stalled.
"I do, however, regret what I had done to you" he had eventually added. He had sighed, "I betrayed you, betrayed our friendship and broken your trust, I'm sorry Macaque... For everything" Monkey had told the other earnestly. He had looked at him as he had said this, and by the looks of it, the other recognized how genuine he was being.
Soon after, the two had made it to Sun's bedroom where they proceeded to crash; limbs tangling with other limbs.
Now here he lays, stuck and forced to remain quiet. His left arm trapped under Macaque as the darker furred being remained asleep miraculously. Wukong wondered about what he must do upon the other waking up, regarding the events leading up to now.
Does he pretend as if it hadn't happened, or does he bring it up? It's not even certain he would remember. Though rather unlikely.
If he does remember, and Wukong were to lie, it would appear as though what he said last night was engenuine. The opposite of what he wanted.
Before he could decide, he felt the shadow weaver begin to stir against his chest. Mumbling something about it being too bright before hiding his face in the blanket.
"G'morning sleepyhead" Sun Wukong greeted softly, might as well start with something. The other jolted slightly, before glancing up towards the stone monkey. The darker of the two monkeys sat up quickly, upon doing so he gripped his head in pain. "Ow- remind me to NEVER do a drinking contest with you again!" Macaque announced, rubbing the area that a headache began to settle in.
"Me too. I haven't drank that much in ages."
The two went silent, just taking in the scene around them. The sun shining into the large windows, the messiness of the room including the sheets, the person that was meant be their enemy laying, or in Macaque's case sitting, right next to them. It felt surreal to say the least.
Suddenly, the demon monkey spoke. His voice was soft, unsure sounding, calling out a simple "Wukong" to get the other's attention.
"Yes," Sun replied, "what's up?" having sat up to better look at him.
Macaque breathed deeply, looking out the window infront of him. "Did you.." he began hesitantly, "...mean what you had said last night, about y'know" he finished as he peeked a glance of the other from the corner of his eye.
The sage shifted his feet against the covers restless, having not moved them for hours probably. "Yes, I did, I did mean it Mac" he admitted wholeheartedly which took the other off guard, for Sun Wukong to admit something so openly was a rarity.
The warrior sighed, scooting closer to Monkey as he rested his forehead against the other's. "Where do we stand now? With eachother I mean.." he asked quietly, barely above a whisper for mortal ears but Sun heard him as clear as day.
The stone monkey mimicked the other's jester, taking a moment to enjoy the closest between them. "I don't know" he replied, just as quiet, "but I hope it's good."
Sun Wukong brushed some longer fur behind the other's ears, brushing his fingers along them in manner had wished to earlier. Macaque's ears twitched but he did swat his hand away, instead he simply hummed at the soft affection.
"Me too.." the shadow weaver added gently, melting as Sun moved to hold his face in his hands.
There was move to say, and more was going to be said, but for now the two were happy to relish in the other's presence.

There’s Only One Thing Worse Than A Child. Children.
Tw: Swearing. nothing serious, but just in case for those who don’t like that kind of stuff.
“Blue berry pancakes...zzsnk....”
The floor rattled below them as they slept.
“-zzznneeffvverrr....-EGHK?!!!.”
A violent boom shook the entire building as they were thrown out of bed and onto their wooden floor, face first.
“What the fucjk. Who the fuck is fucking around???”
They strode towards their window and grabbed the pair of binoculars sitting on the small table positioned to the right of the windowsill. Peering through them, they could see a giant purple bull and golden light beam in the middle of a destroyed downtown.
‘Oh, DBK got out. Good on him.”
They put their binoculars back and went back to bed. They didn’t really have to worry about the chaos that ensued at the moment, as they knew they were well out of the way in the mountains as they lived which also gave them a good view of the city.
.
Hours later they were woken up by a succession of buzzes. At first, they tried to ignore them but then the texts started to turn into calls. They crawled over to their night stand and answered the phone, ready to murder whoever was disturbing their precious slumber.
“Y/NGETDOWNTOTHE HARBORYOU’llNEVERBELIEVEWHATHAPPENED!!!!”
If Y/n wasn’t awake before she surely was now as she held the phone at arms length with Mei’s voice screaming through the reciver.
“Hah?”
“COME ON WE’VE GOT SOMETHING REALLY COOL TO SHOW YOU AND IT’S ALREADY NOON SO GET YOUR BUTT OUT OF BED OR I’LL GET YOU MY SELF!!”
“But...You don’t know where I live??”
“Y/N!!!”
“Okay! Okay I’ll be there in a bit.”
They quickly hung up the phone before Mei could scream at them even more and threw on their in public clothes, before heading out the door. They then remembered that they had to grab their hoverboard and scurried back inside to fetch it, then coming back out and taking off to the city.
In a matter of minutes, Y/n burst out of the tree line and down the highway, before seeing the large blue barge with colorful crates and explosions on it’s deck.
‘Aiyaiyai what’s Mei doing now?’
Speeding up, just as they were about to hit the bed of a truck, they put their foot forward, ran down the bed, and jumped, flying high above the barge’s deck. She then did a triple flip before landing in front of their stunned group of friends.
“Hey guys! It’s ya favorite here!”
There was a second of awed silence when Mei started vibrating from excitement and glomped the girl.
“Y/N!!HOW’DYOUDOTHAT?CANYOUTEACHME? HOW’DYOUGETHERESOFAST?WHYAREYOUSOCOOL??!!!!”
“Hey Mei. Practice, no, won’t say, and I think you’re pretty cool yourself Mei.”
The others just looked at here incredulous that she could understand what the hell Mei just said. While said girl just looked at her with stars in her eyes.
“-So why did you call me? And also why did I see explosions when coming over here?”
Mk then ran over to Y/n as well, holding up Monkey King’s staff up.
“I got Monkey King’s staff!! I’m alsoo INVINCIBLE!!!”
Y/n looked at him for a second processing what he just said before flipping out.
“YOU HAVE WHAT NOW!!?”
“Monkey King’s staff! Cool right!?”
“Did you try to give it back to him? Did you meet him? Did you mention me? Were you the reason that DBK was let out???”
“Uuuhhhh... what now?”
Y/n just face palmed when Pigsy spoke up and tried to talk some sense and responsibility into the kid when Mei interrupted about a headquarters and vehicles.
Next thing Y/n knew she was shoved into a hidden elevator in one of the crates and popped out into a fully kitted and futuristic control room. With mechs, suped-up vehicles, Monkeymech.
“Welcoome~ To our new team base!”
“Mei! When did you make this??!”
Mk asked with stars for eyes.
“HOW did you make this???”
Pigsy questioned with concern.
“CITIZENS! IT IS I, RED SON I HAVE TAKEN CONTROL OF THE WEATHER STATION, AND WILL HARNESS THE VERY POWER OF NATURE TO RETURN MY FATHER TO HIS FORMER GLORY!! This message is, more of a courtesy really. WHEN I’M FINISHED, MY FATHER WILL ONCE MORE DOMINATE THE WORLD!! AND THEN-Oh look, a lighting button.”
Mk and Mei cheered at the appearance of fresh meat while Pigsy and Y/n sighed in exasperation, knowing full well what troubles they were going to get up to.
“You got a lot to learn kid, don’t just dive head first into danger-wait. WHAT DID I JUST SAY!!”
Pigsy yelled at an escaping Mk who was surfing on the staff towards Red Son, cackling.
“I’m guessing I should go with to help you make sure that they don’t kill anyone?”
Y/n asked the poor tired dad of three and half kids.
“That would be appreciated.”
.
“Not so fast Red Son!!”
Mk announced as the rest of the gang took your positions behind him.
“Noodle Boy! I thought I smelled some garbage. Oh, and you have a new loser as well.”
Red Son cackled.
“You’re laughing now, but I’m invincible so, yeah, you’re basically toast. Prepare to get M.K.O-ed!”
Mk swung the staff over his head, but it ended up extending and making it difficult to follow through with the swing. While Mk was trying to swing on Red Son Mei was in the background cheering on her friend.
“Yeah Mk! You show him who’s bos-ahh! Oww....”
Mei dropped to the floor when the staff hit her and a big lump formed on her head. Y/n rushed to her side and held her in her lap.
“Shit! Are you okay Mei?!”
A small green dragon spirit floated up from her body as if it was her spirit.
“-AH SH~HIT!”
‘OF COURSE SHE’S NOT OKAY WHY WOULD YOU ASK THAT???’
“Jeez! Watch what you’re doing!”
Pigsy scolded Mk who apologized, but then the staff expanded again while he was turning to face you guys making it swing around the room towards everyone’s faces. Tang, Pigsy, and Y/n were able to duck in time but Sandy wasn’t so lucky as he was nailed in the face, sending him to heaven as well as he collapsed next to Y/n and Mei.
“Oh no! You’ve killed him!”
Tang cried out for his M.K.Oed friend who’s soul was leaving his body.
“Eh, he’s a big guy. He-He’ll be fine.”
Mei patted her fallen friend’s soul back into his body while still in Y/n’s lap.
“Are you dork done beating each other up yet?”
Red Son asked as he watched the uncontrolled chaos of the group. Y/n repeatedly wonders how the hell she met these goofballs.
“Yes! And you’re next on my list!”
Mk replied and he twirled the staff above his before throwing the staff in Red Son’s direction. Except he didn’t throw it forward he threw it backwards behind him.
‘How..?’
The staff then expanded again, but into Mk’s butt and throwing him up in the room.
‘How???’
It then had the sentience to send him flying around the room a bit more then out the window.
‘How????’
Y/n looked back down to the scene in front of them and saw that they were surrounded by countless bull clones.
“I guess the garbage takes itself out now!”
Red Son cackled as the bull clone moved in for the offensive.
“Mei cover Sandy.”
“Yes Ma’am.”
Mei saluted and hopped off their lap to go defend the fallen ally who was still unconscious.
“Get them!”
Y/n sidestepped a charging clone and ripped off one of its arms as it flew by. She then used the detached arm to bash and hit multiple clones into scrap metal. One of them grabbed and squeezed her wrist which made her drop the arm, but resulted in the bull getting thrown over her shoulder and into several others.
Clones swarmed in to replace the destroyed as Y/n kept dodging, punching, kicking, all while having complete control over the fight. If multiple charged at them, they would use their shoulders to jump off them and they would end up ramming into each other. If they attacked in a quick series, they swiftly deflected their opponent into another bull or flipping and sliding out of the way.
The others who ended up captured watched as the battle turned into a dance of sorts with the graceful offensive defense.
“ENOUGH!! Although you stood against my bull clones with that street rat fighting, you’re no match for me! Red Son!”
“Let’s rumble Fireball!”
Red Son sped towards Y/n who blocked his punch and countered with a roundhouse kick which he jumped back from.
“Oh Red Son~!”
Glass fell from the ceiling as Mk interrupted them and dropped in from the sky,  landing flat on his face. The sudden interruption had made the two fighters stop their...fighting.
“Let’s settle this for real. I won’t let you get away with this.”
Red Son did a spit take at the bold statement from Mk.
“HAH! You’re back to beat yourself up some more?”
“Hey I’ll have you know I can control my powers now. Only downside I’m not invincible anymore so, I could die-”
“MK SHUT YER TRAP!!”
Y/n yelled at him with an incredulous look on her face. Disbelieving that she just heard not only can her friend die, but that he also just said that to someone who wants him dead.
“Ehk- Forget I said that! I got this! Here comes Monkie Kid!”
Mk launched himself forward with his staff, then saw the swarm of bull clones and Red Son coming at him and immediately retreated.
Y/n ran towards her friends and made quick work of the clones guarding them. After releasing them from their binds, Y/n looked back to see a mountain of clones on what they assumed to be Mk, with Red Son standing on top of it.
Red Son mocked Mk for a second before a staff hit him right in the kisser as it extended into the sky, taking all the bull clones with it as well.
“Ooh look, a lightning button.”
Mk said with childish glee in his eyes as he pressed said button, making every bull clone touching the staff explode. The staff reverted to it’s normal size and the screams of Red Son could be heard getting closer as he face planted into the floor. Hard.
“You may have one this round, but you’re still garbage!”
Red Son yelled and he disappeared in a mini tornado of flame.

MK gets cursed - part 2
So this is now a two parter. I don't know if I should post a completed version on tumblr but you can read it on ao3 if it’s easier.

MK gets cursed - part 1
After the very stressful events of the past two hours the monkie kid squad, plus Macaque after Mei spotted him trying to sneak away and subsequently dragged him with them, went to the noodle shop to calm down (they had made an offer towards PIF, but she had scoffed at them and disappeared in a whirlwind). Now that Monkey King had gotten MK to quiet down Mei and Tang were all over the cute little baby monkey. "He's so cute with his little tail and big brown eyes", Mei couldn't help but coo at the small cub as it babbled back at her clearly liking the attention.
Monkey King had used his scarf to make a sling and taken his armour off to properly hold MK; an arm around him and supported on his side by his hip. MK could just get his arms over the fabric and was reaching for Mei when she booped his nose, MK squinted his eyes and pouted while cuddling closer to Monkey King almost like he was offended. The cute little display made SWK laugh. Meanwhile Tang was taking all the photos and videos he could, geeking out over the fact 'thee Monkey King was here in the flesh'. However, Tang suddenly stopped still holding his camera; he was frozen still with a confused expression like he had just realised something. He cleared his throat before saying "Mr Monkey king, sir, I have one question" when Tang saw Wukong nod at him, showing it's okay to continue, he pushed his glasses back up before pondering "it's just, if MK got de-aged, why is he a baby monkey?"
Monkey king opened his mouth before closing it, looking like a fish out of water which got Macaque to laugh from his ominous and shadowy corner. He looked a lot more threatening now that he wasn't wearing his pyjamas (which he changed out of using magic the moment he noticed Monkey King staring at him while stifling a laugh). SWK gave Macaque a side glare before turning his whole body to Tang in order to block out Macaque, a silent 'talk to the hand' being said. "In all honesty I'm not sure, my best guess would be that the curse weakened him to a point his powers took over, automatically transforming him into a more useful form" he started bouncing MK halfway through when the cub whined. Mei gasped insulted "what you mean more useful form?", she had her hands on her hips and leaned towards Wukong accusingly. Wukong tilted back, hugging MK closer before smugly saying "no offense to you humans but your all very... squishy", dramatically Mei grabbed her shirt as her jaw dropped in a silent, shocked gasp.
Abruptly Macaque appeared next to Mei, wrapping an arm around her shoulders "no offense brat but Wukong's right", pinching her cheek for emphasis. Mei whacked his arm away while glaring at his smirking face. In return Macaque backed away with his hands up, in a mock surrender. The interaction made Monkey King laugh and Mei couldn't help but notice the way Macaque stared at Wukong. She's seen him do it a few times, however only when Monkey King wasn't looking. It was this fond and devoted look like he thought Monkey King held the universe in his hands. Mei thought it was adorable at first but after watching Mac repeatedly chicken out the moment Monkey looked over, she was starting to get annoyed.
However, Monkey King's laughter jostled MK and he started to cry. Carefully SWK took MK out of the makeshift sling, then cooed while rocking him to try and calm him down. In a hushed voice, to not scare him, SWK whispered to MK "It's okay kiddo, baba's here". Mk calmed down and was now whimpering into Monkey King's shoulder, answering his baba's coos with tired, little chirps. When he started to yawn SWK looked over at Pigsy and asked "hey, do you have somewhere I can put MK to sleep?" Pigsy grumbled "yeah, I'm sure the kid would be okay with you using his apartment" he threw over, what monkey king assumes, is a spare set of MK's apartment keys. Luckily SWK was able to catch them one handed while still supporting MK and gave a courteous wave to the people in the room as he left.
——————————————————————————
Monkey King had to shove the door with quite a lot of force to get it open. Once it was open it was clear why. The floor was covered in dirty clothes to the point SWK couldn't even see the wood underneath. All the shelves and desks weren't much better, being piled high with rubbish, cups and dishes. SWK managed to climb his way to the bed, swipe off all the clothes on it, then gently put MK on the bed.
Once MK was out of SWK's hold he immediately started making grabby hands towards him, calling and chirping for his baba, seeing his baby like that pained Wukong but he had to clean up the kid's room. "I'm so sorry kiddo but you room is long overdue for a clean-up" SWK soothed while ruffling MK's fur.
Back to business, Wukong started by opening the window by MK's bed, noticing a small plant growing through the frame. Wukong turned to MK, giving him a raised eyebrow "when your back to normal we're going to have a long talk about hygiene". He started picking up all the clothes and throwing them into a hamper before pausing and saying to himself "I'm such a hypocrite, I barely clean myself". From behind him SWK heard a gleeful giggle "I'm glad someone's having fun". Once all the clothes were dealt with, he turned to the dishes, grabbing them and piling them in the sink MK has in his tiny kitchen. It wasn't perfect but it was considerably better.
When Wukong came back into MK's room with pillows and blankets only to see the little cub crawling on the floor towards the door. Wukong dropped what he was holding before picking MK up and raising him into the air while chuckling "trying to make a daring escape, I see" MK giggled, reaching for Monkey King. SWK cuddled MK close to his chest before putting him back on the ground and getting to work. He straightened out the comforter on the bed and re-arranged the pillows, making sure they were soft and comfy. Then went back to the pile of pillows and blankets, which baby MK had been playing with, adding them to the nest. Wukong stepped back and admired his work but couldn't get over this feeling that something was missing. Slowly looking around he noticed a worn Monkey King plush on its side, sat on a shelf. He walked over and plucked it from its spot before feeling his trouser leg get tugged; looking down his cub was staring at the teddy "ah do you want your teddy bear... well technically teddy monkey? -teddy monkey king?" Once MK had his plush Monkey King dragged him over to the nest. Monkey king buried MK under the blankets and tucked the pillows closer hoping the warmth and comfort would get the baby to go to sleep. However, MK kept struggling out of the blankets and reaching for SWK.
Wukong sighed in defeat "Okay fine kiddo you win" before climbing into the nest and cuddling his cub close to his chest. He looked down at MK, seeing the kid yawn and wrap around himself into a little ball. Carefully Wukong smoothed down MK's fur and heard him yawn out "song". Softly SWK laughed before whispering "okay but don't tell anyone about how bad my singing voice is" before starting to hum out the only lullaby he knew.
It was a song the matriarch on flower fruit mountain use to sing to him and the other baby monkeys. She said it was about how the sun and moon fell in love. Macaque use to joke that the song was about them, sadly their story doesn't end the same. After a while of singing, he noticed that MK had finally fell asleep.
...sleep sounds like a good idea.
——————————————————————————
They had practically forced Macaque into the booth, using Sandy to stop him from escaping, of course, Sandy had no problem cuddling up to Macaque. However, Macaque looked miserable until he suddenly kept staring off into the distance looking worried. Mei had spotted his change in attitude from across the booth, where she was sat next to Tang.
Mei crossed her arms and levelled Macaque with a glare "yo dark and broody, what's up with you?" Macaque broke out of his daydream whipping his head towards Mei and staring at her in honest shock for a second before masking his surprise with his signature grin. He laughed mockingly at her and jeered "nothing much, what's up with you, pigtails?" Mei sneered and started growling at the dark monkey, who growled right back. Sandy waved his hands between the two trying to break whatever silent argument was going on. When he got both of their attentions, he calmly tried to reason with them both "let's try to remain calm, maybe have a cup of tea or bowl of noodles".
At the mention of noodles Tang's eyes lit up and he signalled to Pigsy while calling out "darling, four bowls of noodles please" which Pigsy answered with a grumble. However, the promise of noodles didn't seem to cheer Macaque up because he kept brooding in his corner of the booth and Mei was starting to get annoyed. She had learned from her last try, instead trying a softer approach "seriously Mac what's going on you look stressed". He refused to meet her eyes for a second before sighing "it's quiet upstairs... too quiet". Mei leaned back, groaning in annoyance, thinking that Macaque really needed to get over himself and talk to Wukong. Jokingly Mei mumbled "why don't you just go upstairs and check on them if you're that worried" but of course Macaque didn't pick up on Mei's sarcasm.
Suddenly Macaque got up surprising the rest of the table before pointing at Mei and saying, "good idea". Before Mei could clarify that she was joking he had already shadow portaled, presumably, upstairs. Sandy looked at everyone at the table, asking "should we stop him?" Mei leaned back in her seat saying "na it'll be fine... probably".
——————————————————————————
Macaque slowly crept into the room, listening to the silence. When he got to the bedroom, he had to strain his eyes (well more like eye, he could barely see out of the other one) in the darkness. Once in the middle of the room he managed to spot Wukong and MK on the bed. MK was cuddled up to Wukong, his tail wrapped around the arm SWK had put protectively around him. They were both covered in blankets in what Macaque assumes is a nest.
He sat down next to the bed, cautious not to wake either of the sleeping monkeys. He watched as Monkey King snuggled closer to MK in the mountain of pillows and blankets. Macaque knew he was giving Wukong 'heart eyes' as Mei called it, but he couldn't help it. Wukong was gorgeous and when he was asleep, he looked so peaceful and calm. Cautiously he reached out a hand and brushed back Wukong's hair but jumped back in panic when Wukong's heartbeat picked up and he started waking up.
'Shit what do I do?!’ He watched in frozen panic as Wukong slowly opened his eyes and stared at Macaque. Gently SWK raised himself onto his elbow while rubbing his eyes and being cautious of MK. He blinked a couple of times before asking "Macaque, is that you?"; for a second Macaque considered just running but went with just dealing with his fate instead, saying "What's up peaches" which came out a little too croaky to be suave.
Macaque was prepared to be kicked out, however instead he was dragged into the nest by Wukong's tail. He wasn't strong enough to refuse. Once situated he looked down at MK who was sleeping peacefully in between him and Wukong before looking up at Wukong in shock, not expecting to be trusted enough to be allowed (let alone invited) into Wukong's nest. Wukong sleepily laughed at Macaque's expression before snuggling into the blankets and bringing MK closer to him.
"Am I allowed to leave?"
"No"
"Okay then"

Time to christen this blog with some FreeNoodles fluff! Set during the road trip for season 3, so some spoilers. Otherwise this is my first LMK fic of hopefully many more to come, please enjoy!
Through the curtain that separated the front of the truck from the rear, Tang could just about hear the rest of the gang laughing at the movie they'd chosen to stream, the entire group bunched up front so Sandy could have company while he drove. Their sounds of enjoyment filtered through at regular enough intervals for him to follow along with the beat of the story, and even if they were undoubtedly cramped they were also obviously having fun.
Though he was working, he allowed himself a small smile of shared enjoyment as a particularly enthusiastic bout of laughter echoed back to him. Pigsy's deeper voice was one he could recognize at any distance, and he took the moment to be grateful his partner was enjoying himself. As much as he'd have liked to join them, and he had been invited multiple times to do so, knowing they were all having fun was enough for the time being. He had far more important things demanding his attention.
Adjusting his glasses and the light overhead, he tried not to yawn as he flipped to another page in one of his books, checking that the dozen others he had open were also where he needed them to be. Ancient scripts and illustrations stretched out across the entirety of the little table, forming a cluttered mess of organized chaos broken only by the gleaming Samadhi ring in the venter. Watching a movie would have been far more fun than translating and cross referencing, but he needed to plan ahead, and these were the best tools to do that. He'd been playing it cool as always, but he was really quite worried about… every part of this adventure, and this seemed like the best way for him to help. Perhaps the only practical way, if he was being honest…
Grabbing a small reference guide and flipping to the chapter he needed, he kept down another yawn as he searched for any references to the weapon they were pursuing. He'd found a few in this growing collection sourced along their journey, but most were so metaphorical in their descriptions they only posed more questions to answer down the line. Still, even if it wasn't the most exciting work, he knew it was important. In fact, it was probably the most helpful thing he could do.
That being said, it was impossible not to feel a small pang of longing as Sun Wukong made a quip about the film and sent the group at the front into another fit of laughter. It wasn't fun to miss out, as determined as he was to secure their safety in the only way he practically could. Shoving the feelings down, he took hold of the ring again, lifting it to the light to have something more interesting to study.
It was warm to the touch, as always, and an ever present hum seemed to flow through the unnaturally pristine metal. Even now, he could feel a little bit of delight upon holding something so obviously brimming with power and history. If he could decipher its secrets, they could undoubtedly get to the next one that much faster, and all of this work would be worth it. His friends could all return to their lives, and he was determined to make that a reality, even if he had to miss a few movies to make that happen.
Another bout of laughter put a small crack in his confidence, allowing a familiar needle of worry to slip past his defenses and prick at his mind with a taunting and familiar mantra; did they even care he wasn't with them?
Smushing down those thoughts as he always did, he frowned deeply in focus, adjusting his glasses before zeroing in on a few more abstract figures that hopefully held answers. If there were clues to be found, he would hunt them down. Everyone he knew and loved was counting on it…
Though it was a little cold in the back of the van, which was to be expected high in the mountains, he didn't let it bother him too much. Tucking his chin beneath the fabric of his scarf, he settled on a particularly aged book of legends, flipping through the pages of his assembled resources to find his answers. It was slow going, and in his little cocoon it was impossible not to notice the darkness outside the window, or how the snow was falling beyond, or how cozy this little spot was… Tired eyes betrayed him by repeatedly drifting shut. Despite his best efforts, he found his head slipping forward, sending his glasses down his nose every time. Determined not to give up, he listened to his friends for motivation, paying particular attention to Pigsy's voice.
Unfortunately, his strategy had the opposite effect.
He was always comforted to know Pigsy was nearby, and that applied double when exhaustion weighed him down. On more than one occasion his partner had teased him for how he would always be out like a light when he got in their shared bed back home, but that was simply how safe he made him feel, then and now. Sleepiness weighed his head down and encouraged him to lay down his books, his eyes closing without further resistance as the echoes of his friends faded in his ears. It wouldn't hurt just to rest his eyes…
The next thing he became aware of was a gentle touch on his shoulder, like someone securing their hands to carefully adjust how he was seated. Cracking open his eyes, he found himself facing a darkened interior and a familiar smile through his crooked glasses. Pigsy encouraged him to lie back down on the chair as he folded out the bottom to turn it into a proper bed, and he freely complied.
"Burning the midnight oil?" Pigsy asked him playfully, fully aware he was half asleep and not in much shape for a witty repertoire.
"Hrrmmm?" was all he could manage, a hand clumsily rubbing at his eyes as he squinted into the darkness. The adorable antics earned him a chuckle as his glasses were carefully removed for him, something he only allowed Pigsy to do. Yawning, he happily allowed himself to be ushered into a proper sleeping position on the pull out bed, his lifelong partner well accustomed to getting him to bed when he fell asleep whilst working.
"I'm gonna keep Sandy company, alright? We've got a lot of driving to go before we get to the next stop." Pigsy explained, voice low so as not to wake their friends. Tang caught a glimpse of Mei and MK fast asleep on the floor in their sleeping bags and surmised they'd passed out while watching the movie, and been moved just as carefully as he had been. A hand brushing aside a few loose locks of his hair made him sigh softly and eased every remaining bit of tension from his body. "I'll see you in the morning."
"G'morning…" he murmured in barely conscious affection, curling up just as something warm was laid over his shoulders. Pulling it more tightly about himself, he realized it was a very familiar coat just as the soft fur of the collar brushed his face and he caught the scent of the restaurant in the fabric… It was enough to make his heart momentarily ache with homesickness before a quick kiss on his cheek banished them.
One final chuckle in his ears was the second to last thing he heard before drifting off, followed quickly by a barely audible,
"Love you too."

Lei Mu vs the Monkie Crew being Physically Affectionate
right, so. here’s a Lei Mu fic i guess
Word Count: 1.5k
MK wasn’t back yet.
Pigsy stared down at the batch of noodles he’d just finished and sighed. It was to be expected, really, the previous order that came in had been for some event on the other side of town. It would take MK at least half an hour to get there, and another to get back.
But this order was slightly closer to the shop, and if he made them wait, then they’d surely wonder why a place such a “short drive away” was taking so much longer than usual. Pigsy debated, for a moment, if he should abandon the shop for a moment and deliver it himself, the way he used to before MK had started working there.
A blur of purple moving in the corner of his eye had him reconsidering.
He turned to stare in contemplation at where Lei Mu was busy sweeping dirt off of the floor, his hair tied back into a low loose ponytail so that it didn’t get in his face as he worked. It wasn’t exactly like he trusted the monkey yet, but Lei Mu also had truly been doing a good job with the tasks he was assigned…
Decision made (it wasn’t like he couldn’t just make another batch of noodles if Lei Mu fucked this up), Pigsy called Lei Mu over.
“Need me to wash the dishes again?” Lei Mu sighed as he marched over, dragging his feet, not entirely looking forward to putting his hands in warm water filled with dirty dishes again.
“Nope, giving you something different to do for once actually.” Pigsy held up the take out bang for Lei Mu to take. “I need you to deliver this to the building the next street over. The address is written on the paper slip in the bag if you have trouble finding it.”
Lei Mu looked like he had stars in his eyes as he took the bag from Pigsy’s hand.
“You’re letting me deliver something? I mean- of course you would! I am the most trustworthy delivery boy there is! Could never find one that’s better!” Lei Mu did a little bow, his tail wagging in a way that made Pigsy roll his eyes.
“Afraid you’re going to have to fight MK for that title there. Jeez, you’re far too cocky for your own good.” He said, and, without really thinking much about it, reached out and ruffled Lei Mu’s hair.
Lei Mu froze, his tail stilling and fur standing on end.
Pigsy frowned, watching as one half of Lei Mu’s face turned pink while the other turned an almost concerning shade of blue. He retracted his hand, but Lei Mu didn’t move.
“...Are you okay?” He asked, and Lei Mu opened his mouth to answer-
“Hic!”
Lei Mu quickly took a step away from Pigsy, holding up the takeout bag so that it blocked Pigsy’s view of his face. Pigsy raised an eyebrow.
“What was tha-”
“Ishouldprobablygodeliverthisnowk’bye!” Lei Mu said in a rush, barely giving himself room to breathe, before turning and practically running out the door.
Pigsy didn’t even have the chance to offer his car keys.
(Not that he would’ve offered them anyways. He might trust Lei Mu to deliver the food, but there was no way he was trusting him with his van.)
“I don’t understand why you all hate me so much.” Lei Mu said, sitting up on the counter. Pigsy would yell at him to get off, but the other never listened to him, and so Pigsy had given up on it, for now. Lei Mu swung his legs back and forth. “It’s not like I’ve ever done anything to you guys.”
“You trapped Qiu Shi under a tree.” Tang pointed his chopsticks at Lei Mu to emphasize his point. “That’s not a very good starting point.”
“Well, yeah, but it’s not like I’ve ever done anything to you guys personally.” Lei Mu continued, “Like, give me one thing about me that you dislike.”
“Well for one, you don’t listen to anything we say.” Pigsy said.
“I do listen I just don’t always act-”
“You’re overconfident.”
“Hey-”
“You boast almost more than Macaque does, which is not a good thing.”
“That’s more than one thing-”
Lei Mu hopped off the counter, putting his hands on his hips. Tang remained silent, simply keeping an eye on the two of them. Pigsy held up his hands, counting on them as he continued to list things.
“You purposefully irritate MK and Wukong, you leave purple fur and the occasional petal everywhere, you complain about having to do the dishes… Tang do you have anything to add?” Pigsy said. Lei Mu turned to stare at Tang with an expression that was somewhere between exasperated and pleading.
Tang hummed.
“Well, you’re really… cocky.” Tang said, Pigsy nodding his head in agreement. Lei Mu opened his mouth to argue-
(“Jeez, you’re far too cocky for your own good.”
A hand on his head, feeling comforting instead of threatening.)
Lei Mu’s mouth clicked shut, and Tang tilted his head as he watched the monkey’s face change color. There was a brief minute of silence.
“Are you holding your breath?” Pigsy asked, and Lei Mu winced, before shaking his head in the negative, taking a step back away from them, and towards the door that led to the alley behind the noodle shop.
“Hey- where are you going?” Tang asked, and Lei Mu, instinctively, finger-gunned in response, before quickly spinning around and running out the door.
Pigsy and Tang shared a look.
“What was that all about?”
-
“So what are you two doing today?” Lei Mu asked, leaning against the broom he’d been using to sweep the floor. Pigsy glanced up from where he was busy cleaning the counter, to see Mei and MK, who had been trying to sneak out the door without getting seen, freeze. Both Mei and MK sighed at being addressed by Lei Mu.
“We’re going to the arcade.” MK said, feeling drained already as Lei Mu snorted.
“Off to play your silly little games again huh?” He said, “Man, you two sure are- gAH-”
Whatever Lei Mu was about to say was abruptly cut off, as a pair of blue arms wrapped around his waist and lifted him up slightly.
“Rose!” Lei Mu yelled on pure instinct, and it took a moment before he registered that the arms weren’t close to the rose on his chest at all. It took him another moment to register who the arms belonged to. “Sandy- what-”
“Sorry for picking you up unexpectedly but- you just looked really lonely, and I couldn’t help it!” Sandy explained his actions, lightly squeezing Lei Mu tighter.
Lei Mu’s breath caught, and then he elbowed Sandy in the chest.
It didn’t actually do any damage, but Sandy took the hint and set Lei Mu back down. Surprisingly enough, Lei Mu didn’t move, instead looking down at the floor.
Mei and MK watched in fascination as the side of Lei Mu’s face they could see turned a shade of blue.
“Uhhh dude, are you holding your breath?” MK said, after a moment. “Your face is kinda turning blue-”
The blue shade darkened.
“Maybe he’ll pass out.” Mei whispered, sounding overjoyed at the idea. Overhearing her, Lei Mu looked up to glare, revealing to them how the other half of his face was burning pink. Mei squinted her eyes, analyzing. “Wait- are you- blushing?”
Lei Mu let out the breath he was holding.
“No, I don’t blush- hic!” He slammed his hand over his mouth, wincing as the others stared at him in confusion.
It took barely a second for Pigsy to snap his fingers in realization.
“You do that when you’re embarrassed, don’t you?” He said, “That’s why you ran away so fast to deliver that take out, and why you held your breath when Tang and I called you out. You hiccup when you’re flustered.”
Lei Mu, mentally, cursed the pig demon’s power of observation.
“...I don’t know what you’re talking abo-hic! Fuck!” Lei Mu swore, avoiding eye contact as Mei immediately burst out laughing. Sandy patted him on the shoulder comfortingly, but Lei Mu sidestepped out of his reach.
He was going to make his way to the backdoor to leave this situation behind him altogether when MK grabbed hold of his wrist.
“Why don’t you come to the arcade with us?” MK said, amusement in his eyes. “We can show you our ‘weird little games’ or however you said it.”
“Silly little games.” Lei Mu muttered, before raising his voice slightly louder to make sure MK could hear him clearly. “You just want to make fun of me some more.”
“Well, yes. Thank you for catching on so quickly. …I also kinda just want to defeat you at Dance Dance Revolution, though, so- you’re coming with us.”
MK turned, he and Mei walking towards the door once more, this time dragging Lei Mu along behind them.
Lei Mu looked over his shoulder, giving Pigsy and Sandy a pleading glance, hoping for maybe some way to escape out of this.
Sandy purposefully glanced away, pretending not to see, while Pigsy sent the group of three a smirk and a wave.
“Have fun torturing purple bastard number 2!”

warnings: spoilers for S3 if you haven’t seen it? (not the specials just season 3)
———————————————
It hadn’t been too long since MK crashed into the window shield with the first ring of Samadhi, with Sandy and your girlfriend Mei shortly behind. While Tang was observing the ring and taking notes, MK was talking your ear off about what happen after the group got separated. Something about Macaque using magic or something like that. You weren’t really paying attention however. You were focused on Mei, who sat no too far from Tang.
She was looking at the ring that he held, a concerned look on her face. You politely cut MK off, telling him that you are gonna sit by Mei and lazily explain that you missed her a lot (which wasn’t a complete lie, you did miss her a lot). MK, not really caring that you ended the conversation, nodded, and left his spot, possibly to go hang with Sandy and Mo in the front. You get up from your spot, and move to get closer to Mei. Once you are close enough, to tap her on the shoulder, which seems to startle her out of her thoughts. Her head turns in your direction, and her furrowed eyebrows relax as a smile makes its way on her face.
“Hey handsome, penny for your thoughts?” You say in a half teasing manner. She lets out a small laugh, and pats her legs. You take it as an invite to sit, so you sit on her legs, wrapping your arms around her neck as she wraps her arms around your waist. You play with her hair as she digs her face into your (chest/neck). After a beat of silence, she responds.
“Just thinking of how much I missed you.”
She says it very softly, almost a whisper, but you still hear her. Her loose grip on you tightens for just a moment, only for it to loosen once again. You can’t see her face very well, but something tells you that she isn’t telling you the whole truth. However, before you could respond back, someone clears their throat. You both look in the direction, only to see Tang staring at the both of you.
“If you two are going to do couple things, could you please do it in a different part of the van?”
You and Mei stare back for a moment, and then bust out laughing. You stand up, help Mei up and then head to a different section, somewhere where Tang won’t see the two of you cuddling. You make a mental note to say that to him when he and Pigsy are doing their version of “couple things” at a later date.
Once you two settle for a corner in the van, you grab Mei’s hand and look at her. She looks back at you, some confusion on her face.
“You know that if something is bothering you, you can talk to me. You do not have to keep it to yourself.” You say as you move your other hand to hold her face. She looks down at your hands, fingers intertwined, and puts her unoccupied hand over your hand. She closes her eyes and nods into your hand. You bring your face close to hers so that your forehead rest against hers. You both sit like that for a while, comfortable with the silence, and each other, enjoying the sense of closeness.
______________________________________
You were sleeping peacefully next to Mei. The bed was a little cramped, but you both made it work. However, with a cramped bed means that you can tell when the other person is moving, and the other person was moving a lot. You woke up to Mei tossing and turning in her sleep, seemingly having an unpleasant dream, or worse, a nightmare. You gently shook her awake, not wanting to startle her too much. When it didn’t work, you began to shake her a little harder.
Eventually, she woke up, her green eyes being lit by the moon, which was the only source of light. Her eyes move in a panic as her breathing began to pick up pace. Once you two make eye contact, tears formed in her eyes, and she quickly threw her arms around you and held you tight, as she cried into your chest. You hug her back, and do your best to to comfort her and calm her down. After about a minute or so, she stops crying. You two sit in the almost silence, the only thing that can be hear are the occasional sniffling and your own heat beat.
“Do you wanna talk about it?” You murmur as you look at her. Her face is hidden by her hair, but you see the slight shake in her head, before she stops. It seems she is in thought for a moment. After a moment of silence, she whispers, “Just afraid that I am gonna end up hurting the people I love.”
This struck you in a odd direction. Never once has she had these concerns before, at least none to your knowledge. You gently grab her face and turn her head so that she looks at you.
“What do you mean by that?” Your voice a little louder than a whisper, laced with concern. She shakes her head and removes your hand.
“It’s nothing. Just a nightmare.”
“Mei-Mei, it is clearly something if it is affecting you this badly. This is the third night in a row where you’ve had a nightmare.”
“I know… it’s just…” She stops herself from speaking, almost as if she is trying to formulate a response. “I… found something out. That could change… everything.”
While talking, tears begin to well up in her eyes, threatening to fall. A few tears slip and you wipe them away with your thumb.
“I am afraid of how much this will affect me. Of how its going to affect all of my relationships, especially ours.” You take in her words, and process them. All you know about what is bothering her is that it is something big. You don’t want to force her to open up, but you know that if you don’t, she will keep it to herself. You love your girlfriend for all of her flaws, but her biggest flaw was that she rarely opened up to others about her troubles. Always the therapist friend you thought. Even as her spouse, she never opened up to you unless you completely forced her to sit down and talk. But at this moment, you felt she didn’t need that. So you opted to comfort her instead.
“Oh green bean, I promise you that whatever change it is, it won’t affect our relationship. We will work through whatever happens. Take it one day at a time, alright?” You say as you look down at her. She stares at you, seemingly in thought, before she slightly smiles, and nods. You smile back, kiss her nose, and lay back down on your pillow. “Now, lets go back to bed. It’s late and I don’t think everyone is well rested at the moment. Best get whatever sleep we can before we switch.” She nods as the both of you shuffle to get closer, wrapping arms around one another and intertwining your legs. While you fall asleep, you don’t notice that Mei stays awake, too afraid to go back to bed.
______________________________________
Finally at the temple, everyone was waiting for Sun Wukong to arrive before doing anything. At least, that was the plan before the entire place began to glow.
“TANG- WHAT DID YOU DO?!” Pigsy yelled at Tang.
“ME?,” Tang yelled back, baffled that he was being blamed, “I didn’t do anything.”
“Oh- so the piece of paper just magically made a bunch of lights.”
“THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT HAPPEN. AND YOU KNOW IT!” Tang replied, before making a noise of anger. MK cut off their squabble by being attention to the rings, which flew out of his grasp, towards the center of everything. Next thing everyone knew, a beam of light comes from the area where the rings are. You hear Tang exclaim in worry, asking Mei is she is alright. You direct your attention from the light, towards where Mei and Tang are standing. Only to see your girlfriend clutching her chest, a pained look on her face. You don’t think much before you leave your spot next to Pigsy and run to Mei. Once you are next to her, you lean her against you.
“I…I don’t know.” Her voice is filled with an emotion that you can’t point-point, but you know that it isn’t good. Eventually, the beam of light stops, and Mei groans out in pain. You are so focused on making sure that Mei is okay, you barely realize that Tang is freaking out. You snap back to reality when you hear MK, he tells everyone to not touch anything until “our glowy mystic monkey” arrives. Once again to be interrupted by big shards of ice surround the entire place. You duck slightly with Mei in your arms as Tang covers the both of you with his own. You then trip a bit, with Mei almost falling. You steady yourselves, making sure that Mei is alright.
“How are you feeling? Are you in any pain?” Your voice wavering with panic. However, Mei doesn’t answer you. You look towards MK, to see that he his fighting Macaque.
As MK looses his fight with Macaque’s monkey mech, everyone watches in silence, unable to help. You feel your girlfriend tense up in your arms, upset that her friend needs her while she is sitting on the sidelines. You see her signature green lighting, but it stops abruptly as another pained noise comes from her. She falls further into your arms as Tang reaches out in an attempt to help.
“Not another move.” Macaque says as he jumps out the monkey mech. “I’ll give you two options. Option A, I take the Samadhi Fire, you do exactly what i say, and I don’t have to do anything you’ll regret. Or option B…”
Macaque trails off before he disappears into the ground and snatches Mei out of your arms. He remerges back above ground, hold Mei by her throat.
“I cut all of you down starting with the girl.”
You feel your heart drop to your feet once those words come out of his mouth.
“NO-“ You scream about to run towards him. However you are stopped by Tang, who puts his arm in front of you.
“Wait- Don’t do this.” Tang says, in a sense trying to reason with him.
“Tang, do what I’m telling you. Your friends life depends on it. Finish the ritual.”
Tang stands there for a moment. You know that if he doesn’t agree, something bad will happen to Mei. You are so caught up in your thoughts, so wprried about what is happen, what will happen to Mei, that you dont snap out of it until you hear Tang. You look towards Tang, as tears build up in his eyes.
“Alright- You win.” He takes a deep breath, and holds out his hand. His eyes glow as the rings begin to light in flame. You look at Mei, who is looking at one of the rings.
“No- Please- I- I want to get off this ride.” Her voice is filled with fear. You are about to make your way towards her, when a beam of light consumes Mei.
Everything ended up happening so fast, from Sun Wukong arriving too late, to your girlfriend literally bursting into flame. The flame was so strong that it knocked you off your feet, and onto the ground. You land on your knees, and look back up at Mei. You hear MK freak out, in an attempt to help Mei. That was until Nezha arrived and told us that nothing can help her, and that the flame will destroy Mei and everything in its path.
“WHAT?” You, Mei and MK exclaim at the same time. You are so caught up in looking at Mei, that everything around out just becomes background noise.
‘The flame is gonna destroy Mei? But it can’t- She is an innocent victim in this… Isn’t she?’ You think to yourself. You and Mei make eye contact, tears brimming in both of your eyes. You hear nothing but white noise in your ears. This couldn’t be happening. You are snapped back to reality by Tang, who puts a hand on you. You look at him, and nod, telling him you are now present. He nods back and turns back to everyone else. Turns out, the Monkey King made a mistake, and a piece of the Samadhi fire went into the White Horse dragon, which resided inside of Mei the entire time. Making her the fourth ring. This information made Mei angry, understandably so.
“YOU KNEW. YOU KNEW ALL ALONG I HAD THIS.. THING.. INSIDE OF ME.” Mei screamed angrily at Wukong. Mk tries to calm her down, but to no avail. “AND YOU HID IT FROM ALL OF US. WHY? WHAT WERE YOU AFRAID OF? THAT YOU WERE GOING TO HAVE TO TEAR ME APART TO GET YOUR PRECIOUS SAMADHI FIRE?!”
Mei’s anger transfers into the flame destroying the ground under her. Nezha is about to shield us, however Sandy ends up being the one who shields everybody. Next thing you know the fire burst everywhere. You thank Sandy for protecting everyone he could, and he nods in appreciation. While Wukong explained his (horrible) plan, you couldn’t help but try to catch glimpses of Mei.
Seeing her like this hurt you. You can tell that she was in a lot of pain. You can see why she was worried-
It all of a sudden clicked for you. It all of a sudden made sense as to why she was scared. Why she was afraid of hurting everyone, especially you. The numerous tight hugs, sleepless nights, the constant touch. Why didn’t you think of this sooner. You were now wishing that you pushed her for more during those late nights. You wished you just did that little push to get the answer out of her. Fought more for both of your sakes. The tears in your eyes began to slip as you see tears fall out of Mei’s own eyes. Though you suppose it was for a different reason. (Not like you were really paying attention.) Somehow, over all the wind, you hear Macaque say that we need to leave. Once he leaves, you hear Nezha agree about leaving, that we cannot save her.
Need to leave? We cannot save her? There has to be a way to save her. You can’t just leave her to deal with this alone. You just won’t leave her. You run past Sandy, towards Mei. You don’t notice that Nezha had attempted to stop you, not that you would’ve stopped. You try to call put to Mei, to get her attention. Thankfully, she managed to hear you. Her head turns towards you.
“Mei- Please, Bunny you need to stop.” You move closer towards her. The fire hurts as it whips past your face and as it burns your clothes, but it’s nothing compared to what Mei may be feeling. “I know that you are upset. It is completely understandable. While I may not understand what it is like to have a power you cannot control. I don’t know what it is like to feel how you and MK feel, like the world is on your very shoulders. But know that you have supported and helped everyone here, myself included. But we are also here for you. We will find a way to fix this together.” You full on sprint towards her, and wrap your arms around her. “Even if it takes a lifetime. We will fix this.”
The tears that were building up in your eyes slipped as your grip on her tightened. She stands there for a moment, the fire suddenly stops. Not that really cared. You just wanted to hold your girlfriend. She returns the hug, as a sob builds its way into her throat and threatens to overflow. However, something happens, and she pushes you away.
“I can’t. I don’t want to hurt any of you… I’m so sorry.” Mei says as she begins to float.
“Mei- What are you..” You say confusion and denial seeping into your voice. You try to stop her, but no avail. She flys off before you can say anything else. You were left starting in the general direction where she flew. You cry out for Mei, but fall back out of tiredness. Luckily, Sandy was there to catch you. You hear MK talking, however you can’t bring yourself to listen. You just lost your girlfriend, and you don’t know when you will be getting her back. You can only hope that it’s soon. Until then, you going to have to take it one day at a time.

( This is just an AU that i thought of!! Also the ending sucks💀)
He smiled as Mk started assigning everyone an instrument. When Mk picked the last instrument he was sure that it was going to him but to his surprise he gave it to Monkey King. He thought that there would be another instrument so he asked Mk and he just gave him a clipboard. He mumbled "thanks" and watched as everyone else got on the stage and performed.
He looked at them as they performed and noticed how happy they looked without him, maybe he was holding them back. They didn't need him. He was the weakest one out of them after all.
He felt himself tear up and threw the clipboard on the floor and walked out. He walked until he was out of the beautiful City of Lanterns. He took out his notebook and stared at it in anger. He threw his notebook against the ground and walked away not looking back.
He found a secluded spot decently far from there and sat down. He took a while to process everything and started crying.
'This is for the best, they don't need me' We're his thoughts at first but then he couldn't help me be mad. Why would his friends choose someone else over him? He knew he didn't stand a chance against Wukong, but.. Why? He had been there for them for so long, comforting them, helping them, but as soon as Wukong arrived he was even more useless than before.
He noticed someone not far away from him and he yelled at them annoyed thinking it was Mk or Pigsy but then he realized that it was Macaque. He backed away but Macaque only stepped closer talking to him. He called out to Macaque in a shaky voice telling him to go away, Macaque only laughed but he stopped after he noticed that Tang was alone.
Tang looked at Macaque in confusion when he stopped and asked what he wanted. He looked back at Tang and asked where the rest of the group was, Tang only scoffed and told him they were in Lantern City getting the ring without him. He looked shocked at the black-haired man and slowly walked towards him. He sat down near Tang and put his hand on his shoulder. Tang looked at Macaque, who gave him an awkward smile and he smiled awkwardly back.
He started to cry again but this time he had someone to comfort him, even if it was just having his back rubbed while he cried. He soon heard Macaque ask him if he wanted to join his side and if he did, he wouldn't be alone anymore. He felt guilty that he actually thought about joining but he couldn't help it. He didn't want to be alone anymore, sure, he had Pigsy, Mk, Sandy and everyone else but he was always being left out.
He noticed Macaque had gotten up and started to walk away. He wiped his tears and stood up quickly following Macaque. Why was he following the enemy? Why was he going to accept the offer? He was about to call out to Macaque but then he heard familiar voices. He held his changpao and turned around to look at his 'friends' who ran towards him but he stepped back when they tried to hug him. Mk looked at him and asked him what was wrong.
He thought he couldn't cry anymore. That his tears were all used up but he was wrong. He started yelling at them with angry tears, telling them how he's sick and tired of being left behind. The others only tried to prove him wrong. He felt offended? Maybe angry? Or was it disgust? It was probably all of those emotions.
He started to yell even more but a lot of his sentences came with stutters. When Pigsy tried to reach his hand out towards him he slapped it away. He noticed what he had done and backed away even more in guilt. He heard Pigsy yell at him and he just ignored it until he said the words 'i love you'. He stopped and stayed silent before he turned around and walked away. He could feel everyone stare at him. He even heard Pigsy cry a bit.
He stopped walking when he reached Macaque and nodded, accepting the offer. He smirked at Tang and then turned to look at his old group in silence. Tang looked at his 'friends' and smiled warmly and then looked at Pigsy who looked at him while crying and he mouthed an 'i love you' before he had disappeared with Macaque with one of his shadow portals.
He looked down at the destruction of the city. He shifted his gaze towards his 'friends' and he watched them get near, as he got nearer he noticed Macaque was with them and he mumbled something under his breath.
He looked at them once again and it was silent until it was broken by footsteps. He attacked Mk and seemed to land small hits.
The fight went on and on for hours on end as neither of them seemed to give up. He yelled at Mk telling him it was his fault and everyone else's. He began to tell how he felt as he was always the last option and was always left out. He started to tear up.
Tang backed away, putting distance between him and Mk, wiping away his tears.
As he laid on the floor, Tang held his side in pain and looked up at his friends and scoffed.
He mumbled something under his breath and stood up wincing in pain. He stepped back, once he was a good distance away from them he felt something pierce his stomach. He coughed up blood and looked at them, Tang smiled a bit and then closed his eyes as he took his final breath

The Lost Child - Chapter 6
Once, when the land was young and new, the Gods, the  demons, and the mortals lived together. The world shaped by the battles between the Gods and the demons. Mortals attempting to thrive with what  they could, living on the lands created by beings stronger than them. Eventually creating a connection with the Gods through shrines and  offerings, in turn the Gods granted their protection.
When the  number of demons grew, the amount of power diminished. Those deemed too  weak were cast away. A tentative agreement was reached between those outcasted and the mortals. Demons allowed to live in the structures  mortals had built. It was a slow process, but a calm living was  eventually reached.
All seemed well. Until the Gods and powerful demon suddenly disappeared one morning. No reason, no explanation. Those  left behind having to wonder what could have happened. It was  all…strange. Worrisome. It was a clear sign something was wrong. Now it was just a question of when it was all going to fall apart.

This was not how MK’s birthday should be ending.
Tang, absolutely frozen with fear, pressed against the restaurant wall. Desperately clinging to Pigsy’s shirt while the chef tried to remain tall. Wooden spoon in hand like a small weapon that would clearly do no damage. Towering over them both was a large bull demon. One that Tang easily recognized.
In his scrambled mind that was trying to keep himself grounded in some way, all Tang could think was: Why was the Demon Bull King standing in his home?
“W-Who?” Tang asked weakly to the bull demon’s demand. Surprised he was able to get anything out with how tight his throat felt.
“Prince Xioatian, the Eclipse Child, where do you have him held.” Demon Bull King replied.
“No one in this building has that name,” Pigsy said quietly, “Now, please leave before I-”
“Do NOT lie to me!” Tang yelped when a large hand slammed down dangerously close to them. The Bull King’s eyes narrowed as the human hid away further into Pigsy’s back. “The prince’s aura fills this building, I know he is here. So it would be in your best interest to turn the prince over. Now.”
“Tang,” Pigsy whispered desperately, “Do you have any idea what he’s talking about?”
“N-No,” Tang replied weakly, “B-But, I do know that’s the Demon Bull King…and we might be in trouble.”
 “Ah…so this is an issue.”
“Enough of this!” The shout put the attention back to the demon. Growling deeply, as a warning “If you will not tell me here, then we shall see what Macaque says.”
Tang got a quick but short thrill upon hearing the Shadow Warrior’s name before it was washed away with fear. Both mortals suddenly found themselves trapped in a purple orb. It was tight and difficult to see outside as something swirled around them. Tang let out a low groan of discomfort as his stomach protested from the sudden movement, closing his eyes. Pigsy instantly shifted as best he could to cradle the human closer as they were carried out.
“Where the heck are you taking us? We’ve done nothing wrong!” Pigsy shouted.
“Says the being whose home is dripping with the prince’s aura.”
“There’s no prince, you crazy demon! We have no idea what you’re talking about!”
“Pigsy…” The chef turned towards the human. Who’s eyes were still shut tight, forehead pressed into Pigsy’s shoulder. “Would…Would he be talking about…MK?”
Pigsy’s eyes widened. “...Let’s not jump to conclusions. Just let me focus on getting out of here while your stomach settles. Take deep breaths, you’ll be okay.”
“DBK, what did you find?” A new voice sounded. Pigsy facing forward to find a black furred monkey standing before them. Arms crossed, a deep frown on his face. A brow raising upon seeing the mortals. “What is this? Did you…Did you kidnap mortals?”
“The home of these two held the prince’s aura. But, I only found them inside.”
 “...You didn’t find anyone else?”
No. The rest of the building was quiet. These two are not talking.”
Macaque frowns, walking forward to peer into the orb. “Where is my son?”
“Look, I don’t care who you two are. And I don’t appreciate being treated like this. But I’ll tell you what I told your thick skull friend here. We don’t have a prince! It’s just us and our son!”
The last part caused Macaque to falter, turning back to DBK. “You said there was no one else at this place!”
“Well…at least for the moment there was no one else there,” the bull demon said weakly, “But this could just be a coverup. Trying to play on a sympathetic side.”
“You’re both insane, let us out!” Pigsy screamed as he attempted to kick the orb.
“But you could have let the accomplice flee.” Macaque argued back, both demons ignoring Pigsy.
“If this accomplice is as incompetent as they are, we have nothing to worry about.” DBK replied.
The chef shouted, “Would you two idiots please just listen to me!”
“Why are you here and not searching for this mysterious person?” Macaque argued.
“Because I could not find anything to track this third person down. As these two aren’t talking, I decided to take them back to the Celestial Realm. See if we can loosen their lips there.”
“What?!” Pigsy knew he had shouted it. But also heard Tang cry out desperately while Macaque sounded angry.
“We can’t go back, not yet,” Macaque continued quickly, “We haven’t found Xiaotian. I told Wukong I wouldn’t return until I found him.”
“And we will have a better chance of that if we can search through their memories. Narrow down the areas we’ll need to search. We know Xiaotian is in the city.”
 “But Spider Queen-”
“Lost her best tracker years ago, she will never think to look here first, we have a good lead. Those spider demons just know he’s in the mortal realm but not a specific location. We have that, we just need a better list of areas. But we need to get back now, we’re running out of time to make this work.”
Macaque let out a slow sigh, but eventually nodded. “Fine, but we’re going to be quick.”
 “Of course.”
The two mortals were stunned into silence as they watched as the demons began to create a portal. Wincing as a bright light encompassed them. Pigsy tried to shout out on final ‘Wait, listen!’ but it was too late. They could do nothing as the group passed through the newly created portal.
Tang let out another groan as the world shifted around them, swallowing down the sickness that crawled up his throat. There was a small part of comfort feeling Pigsy’s hand covering the human’s ears. Trying to help calm the rolling nauseous in the human. Both were so focused on each other that they missed the grand spectacle before them. All resting on a grand staircase that led up to a white and gold temple.
Macaque was biting his lower lip in worry. “Wukong is not going to be happy…”
“He will when we explain the situation,” DBK replied, “This was our best path to find your son.”
 “That doesn’t mean-”
 “You two did WHAT!?”
Macaque’s attention immediately snapped to the temple’s entrance, a voice echoing out from it. DBK barely got out a ‘Just go.’ before the black furred monkey disappeared into the shadows.
“Where are we?” Tang asked weakly, still curled up against the chef.
“I have no idea,” Pigsy whispered back as DBK started to make his own way up the staircase, “But we’ll be okay, I promise. You’ll be okay.”
The grand hallway seemed to be filled with a number of strange people. Eyes on them as the Demon Bull King entered. His towering form slowly approached the group that was standing at the center of all of it. Dressed in the finest fabrics Pigsy had even seen. He was about to call out, to demand who among them decided that kidnapping was a good idea, when someone beat him to the punch.
 “Dad! Dadsy!”
MK ignored the confused tone of ‘Dadsy?’ from Macaque and rushed towards Demon Bull King. Who looks just as confused by the teen’s actions. MK glaring up at the tall demon, fangs bared, tail lashing as he shouted, “Let them go! What are you doing to them!?”
“MK, kid? What are you doing here?” Pigsy called out.
“Demon Bull King, please release the mortals. There’s no reason to keep them trapped.” Wukong called out, stepping forward. Clearly furious. Which in turn, caused said demon to look fearful for a split second before undoing the spell. Both mortals let out grunts as they suddenly hit the floor.
“Ugh, that was terrible.” Tang weakly commented. But didn’t argue when MK practically flung himself into his parents’ arm. “MK! Oh my goodness, you’re okay! Where are we, what’s happening?”
“I believe there’s been a misunderstanding.” Wukong stated, rubbing his temples. “Please accept my deepest apology for these actions brought against you.”
“Take your ‘apology’ and cram it down your throat!” Pigsy growled out. Tang gripping the chef’s arm, eyes wide with fear. “Someone had better start talking, now. Because my patience is thin as it is.”
“Dadsy-” Mk was cut off when Pigsy pulled him closer.
“You’re not hurt right? What did they do to you? How did you get here?”
“I…they brought me here. I was being attacked by some spider demon-”
“You were what!” Macaque and Pigsy’s voices echoed through the hall. The Shadow Warrior turned to Wukong and said, “You didn’t mention this.”
“I haven’t had time! This has fallen apart so quickly.”
“Would someone be so kind as to tell me why my son is here when he should be home.” DBK demanded, yellow eyes narrowed on Redson and Mei.
“Your child went with Mei to collect our son, apparently.” Macaque ‘helpfully’ provided.
“What! After your mother and I told you not to get involved!”
“Father, please understand, we were just trying to help.”
“Yeah! Back off Bull Demon. Redson did what was best for everything!”
“Not a word from you, Dragon Girl. Your parents will be called here soon enough.”
“I’m sorry, but Bull King, you have no room to talk about people in trouble.”
 “Don’t start Wukong.”
“No, you and Macaque stepped way out of line bringing two mortals here.”
 “That’s an understatement!”
 “Pigsy, don’t-”
“No Tang, I’m done with this!”
MK breathed deeply, panic rising as quickly as the voices did. Fearful eyes darting around, trying to find some form of comfort in the craziness that was before him. Only to see anger and accusations being thrown around. Main players focused on others while the servant and others crowded along pillars and walls looked away. The teen attempted to call out. Even tried to give a few chirps. Nothing came out, feeling as if something was closing around his throat. Covering his ears in an attempt to block out the noise.
This was too much. It was becoming too much.
 It became too much.
Having heard enough, MK stood tall, panic turning to frustration that was growing. Completely missing the sparks that were flying off him, eyes a brilliant white. Frustration was released as a way of power. Foot slamming down, the floor cracking, all the while shouting out, “Stop fighting!”
Those in the room were suddenly pushed back. Not severely, but they had been moved a good distance from where they stood. Large cracks forming in the surrounding pillars and walls. A few beings who had been silently watching the arguments fled from the room.
Letting out a slow breath, the sparks flying down, MK opened his eyes. Normal colors returning, the feeling of frustration gone. The emotion replaced with fear upon seeing the damage around him. “W-What happened?”
“Kid,” Pigsy said cautiously, “you’re okay. Just breathe, you didn’t do anything wrong.”
 “...I did this? H-How?”
Wukong pulled away from Macaque, who had wrapped his arms around the golden monkey to protect. “Kid, you’re okay, you’re the child of a god and a demon, you have powers. Those that are connected to your emotions. You…haven’t been trained. Of course you haven’t been trained. How would you have known to train for this?”
“Wukong-” Macaque winced when the other pulled away harshly.
 “Don’t you dare.”
 “Peaches-”
“You brought mortals here! You were supposed to find our son, not kidnap. You were supposed to explain what was happening if you came across anyone. Why did you let Demon Bull King go alone, why did you leave him alone, why did you let him lead? You were supposed to lead! How…How did things fall apart so quickly?” Wukong fully turned away from Macaque, both looking broken.
MK winced feeling a hand being placed on his shoulder. Quickly turning to find it was only Tang. Looking worried, but trying to convey some sort of comfort to the teen. But it did nothing. The panic grew once more. The room became too crowded again, to close in. He broke for freedom, rushing back towards the entrance. Ignoring the calls of his name as he sped out of the grand hallway.
DBK turned to the guards, pointing to MK’s retreating back, and growled out, “Follow him. Make sure he doesn’t leave the grounds.”
Three guards bowed before rushing out, all disappearing into the slowly darkening world.
Tang, whose hand had raised up as if to pull MK back, retreated slowly. Pressing the same hand close to his chest as he turned to face the group once more. No one was looking up. Eyes on the floor or the walls. DBK and Pigsy looked angry. Redson and Mei looked scared. Wukong and Macaque looked hurt. Now that no one was shouting, or even talking, this allowed Tang a moment to reflect over everything. His mind worked through the situation, going over everything that had been said/shouted at that time.
Squeezing his hands together and setting his face in something he hoped was neutral, Tang stepped forward. Able to dart around Pigsy’s hand. Who was no doubt trying to pull the human back behind him to protect. Heart hammering fearfully when Demon Bull King’s eyes flickered over to him. But the demon did nothing as Tang passed by him. The human only stopped when he was positioned next to Wukong, who was still looking away. Clearly lost in thought.
The Monkey King looked up when Tang cleared his throat, ears flickering. The human faltered upon seeing the emotions flashing through the golden monkey’s eyes. They were similar ones that Tang had seen when Pigsy had a rough day. Ones of determined strength, a front to appear okay and in control, and absolute exhaustion. Lingering underneath it all were the unmistakable marks of anguish.
Tang offered a small smile before gently taking the golden monkey’s hand gently. He heard a majority of small gasps coming from the crowd, no doubt his actions were seen as an overstep of boundaries. But Wukong hadn’t pulled away, so Tang ignored the noises. “I do believe we have gotten off on the wrong foot. Am I to assume, correctly, that you are MKs biological parents?”
“Yes…you’re correct.” Wukong’s voice was choked, the golden monkey clearing his throat once more.
“Well, we are MK’s adoptive parents. We were not aware of any of this. I’m mean, obviously. When does one ever think you’ll find a child from another realm?” Tang laughed weakly, taking a deep breath before continuing. “MK…is a wonderful kid.”
 “He seems like it.”
Tang nodded, gently squeezing the hands that he held. “I’m not sure if my words will mean anything. But I would like to say that we had…no idea who MK truly was. When just thought he was a lost child and took him in. Cared for him, fed him. Helped him use his tail. Goodness, that was an interesting afternoon.”
Both beings gave a small laugh at that. Tang noticed that the sorrow was slowly taking over in the golden eyes. Wukong clearly held on for as long as he could. “He, um, he hates spiders. Which sounds like something that has to do with these spider demons.”
“Ah, yes. The, um, the Spider Queen had…” Wukong took a deep breath, taking a moment to calm himself before continuing, “Our son had become a target by the Spider Queen and her followers. We tried to get him away from here, to safety, until we either defeated her or knew it would be at least safe for him to return. But…it didn’t work… One of Xiao- sorry, MK’s powers manifested early. Causing him and a spider demon to be teleported to the Mortal Realm.”
“Why would he travel there?” Tang asked.
“I don’t know. It’s as if instinctually he knew he would possibly be safer there. But he…left…and with the spider demon disappearing as well, we thought he was…”
“He wasn’t,” Tang took over quickly, “Pigsy found him, in an alleyway. Says the place looked like it had been burnt to a crisp. MK was just…sitting among it all, covered it soot but fine. Brought him home and…I fell in love with that little monkey. Did you know, he would chirp at the sun and full moon?”
“That was for us. We heard him, it was how he knew he was even still alive.”
The human paused for a moment before letting out a gasp, suddenly understanding and laughing softly. “The God of the Sun and the Demon of the Moon, his parents, of course. He was…he was calling out to you. I didn’t even think of that. Goodness, do I feel silly now. I should have known.”
“Well, like you said, how could you have? It’s all such strange circumstances…”
“It is and…I can’t imagine what you,” Tang’s eyes flashed up to Macaque who was looking on curiously, “What both of you had gone through. MK is such a wonderful child and losing him… I’m aware that I had nothing to do with this, but I’m so sorry you had to go through this. You should not have lost your son as you had. I…can’t begin to know or understand how much it hurts. How much you lost from this.”
“...We only got to hold our baby a few times…” Wukog’s voice faltered, wet eyes focusing on the clasped hands. “We missed out…on so much…”
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry that I can’t fix this… But he’s back now and, while I’m not sure what’s happening or what will happen from this point onward, but I want to know MK is safe. That you and Macaque can see him whenever you want. Let him live…live here if MK so wants… That you don’t have to lose out on anything else.” Tang didn’t argue as Wukong rested his head on the human’s shoulder. No one commented as the God began to silently sob into the offered shoulder.
“It was not my original plan to kidnap you.” Pigsy jumped upon hearing Demon Bull King. Not realizing when the demon had inched closer. “I hope I can convey to you the severity of the situation… The young prince had been missing for 16 years. Only believing to be alive for 15. This was the first day we knew that we would be able to reach him. When I came across your shop…”
“You panicked. I get it. This has clearly been an intense situation for everyone. You just thought you were doing what was right.” Pigsy finished with a grunt.
“I was grabbing at what I could to make this right.”
“You should just be happy that my- that the kid was already here before we arrived.”
“Agreed,” DBK’s attention turned to the teens. Who had been watching Tang and Wukong, only to be pulled away when the large demon walked over. Redson looked very nervous. “You two… You’re still in trouble. What you did was extremely dangerous. Especially if you went through with your original idea. Which you can explain when your parents are here, Mei. But your quick thinking allowed yourself  to get the prince out of danger.”
“We understand father.” Redson said softly. Although Pigsy noticed that the teen didn’t seem as relieved as he should be. But didn’t make a comment on it.
Tang didn’t say a thing as Wukong pulled away. The God’s eyes red, fur beneath them wet and matted down. When their eyes connected, Tang offered a bright smile, one that Wukong returned weakly but happily. Now calmer, the Monkey King turned to face Macaque, who hadn’t moved and in fact had returned his attention to the ground. Flinching slightly when Wukong’s hands gently cupped his cheeks. Moving his head so Wukong and Macaque could look at each other.
“...I didn’t mean to shout.” Wukong said softly.
“You had every right to,” Macaque replied, “I…I don’t think I did a single thing right today.”
“You did what you thought was right.”
“But if the kids hadn’t had found Xiaotian-”
“But they did and he’s here and we don’t have to worry about that, we’re going to be okay…” Macaque eagerly pressed closer when their foreheads touched. Shutting his eyes tightly as he let out a slow breath. “We’ll be okay.”
“We’ll be okay…” The Shadow Warrior echoed.
“So, what do we do now?” Pigsy asked after a few minutes passed, “I have a feeling that we can’t go back home. Not if this Spider Queen demon thingy is running around.”
“To true. While she’s running around, all three of you are going to be in danger,” Wukong said, pulling away from Macaque. But keeping the other’s hand in his own. “You both carry part of his aura that’s not going to just disappear after a few hours.”
“It doesn’t help that the spider demon we came across looks like that hunter spider that you talked about before,” Mei said, “The one that disappeared with MK.”
“Huntsman is still alive?” Demon Bull King said in shock.
“Of course he is, this was just going far too easily,” Macaque bitterly commented, “If you two and MK remain here, you’ll be safe. They’re not dumb enough to attack this temple.”
“But the main focus needs to be preparing all of you for the worse. MK would normally grow up with full training. But as it stands, we don’t know what he’s fully capable of.” said Wukong.
Tang laughed weakly. “Uh, yeah, we’re not really a fighting family.”
 “Speak for yourself.” Pigsy commented.
 “Throwing spoons doesn’t count Pigsy.”
“So, we’ll get training, MK will understand his powers…then what?”
“We need to take Spider Queen down, easy.” Mei said easily, with a smirk as Redson shook his head.
Wukong couldn’t help but smile as the conversation now was calmer, more inviting. He jumped when he felt a hand placed on his shoulder, turning to find Tang once more. “Ah, yes?”
“Would it be possible that I could make a request?”
 “Of course.”
Tang sighed slowly before asking, “May I ask that you check on MK?”
“Me? I…would think you would be the best person for this. You…know him better than I do.”
“While that’s true, if he’s in the mood that he is, MK has a tendency to find tall places to hide. I know I won’t be able to reach him and, right now, I want to know he’s talked to someone.”
Wukong was surprised by this, but nodded. “I’ll go talk to him.”
MK panted hard as he rushed into the grand garden he'd passed not so long ago. But it seems like a lifetime ago that he was nervous and in awe of what surrounded him. Now, he just felt small, sick, and fearful. He headed for the grove of peach trees that had enticed him before. Now, he just wanted to use it as a place to hide. He ignored the small white furred monkeys that claimed the tree, already resting there. A little unhappy when MK climbed passed them easily and without pause. The teen not stopping until he reached the tallest branch he knew could safely support his weight. Taking a seat, breathing deeply, trying to calm himself.
The beautiful scene before him, the already awe-inspiring city now having the light from the descending sun shining behind it, was lost on MK. Obviously distressed, the weight of everything seeming to hit at once. The attack, being kidnapped, the discoveries of his lost legacy, seeing his parents (adopted parents?) in pain and trapped, his new parents arguing, everyone arguing, it was just too much.
MK took a few deep breaths, trying to calm down. Only to let out a heavy sob before fully crying. Wrapping his arms around the trunk of the tree to make sure he remained safely, avoiding the chance of falling out with how hard he was crying. Shoulders violently shaking as the tears flowed freely. Minutes passed as he released so much anguish and fear into the darkening sky.
He let out a small gasp when he felt something landing on his lap. Looking down to find one of the many monkeys he’d passed now sitting there. A look of worry on their face. MK sniffed weakly, reaching out to brush his fingers over the smaller being’s forehead.
“H-Hi…” MK sniffed weakly, “S-Sorry, was this y-your spot?”
The monkey shook their head. Instantly inching forward, curling close and pressing against MK’s stomach. The teen resting his hand over the smaller form. Tears were still falling, but MK had fallen quiet. Feeling exhausted from the sorrow that rested in him. Leaning against the tree, eyes staring over to the city.
As darkness started to fall, the sky becoming an inky black, MK watched as the city became more alive. Faint music could be heard, along with cheers and singing. At one point, fireworks started going off. Painting the darkened sky with bright colors.
“Wow…” MK whispered softly as he watched.
“Beautiful, isn’t it?” The teen was startled by the new voice. The small monkey that had been asleep woke suddenly by the movement and took off in fear. Looking around the trunk, MK found a sheepish looking Wukong. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.”
“I-It’s okay… What are you doing here?”
“Checking up on you. Wanted to make sure you’re okay or…something similar to it. Your, uh, dad said you liked to be up in high places when you get upset. Suggested I come find you… You know, ironically, this is the same tree I use when I want some alone time…”
Mk gave a weak sniff as a reply, wiping his eyes. “...I didn’t mean to run off…or break the temple.”
“It’s okay, you’re okay, I get it. It’s…a lot, all of it. I’ll be honest, it wasn’t supposed to turn out like this. I’m not really sure what I was expecting. But I do know that no one was supposed to be kidnapped. We wanted to bring you home. But…not like this. I’m sorry. Some birthday this turned out to be, huh?”
MK laughed weakly. “Yeah, some birthday.”
They both looked back over to the sky as another round of fireworks went off. A calm quiet falling between the two as they watched on.
 “...Monkey King?”
 “...Yeah bud?”
 “What…happens now?”
Mk heard the Monkey King shift, a heavy sigh sounding before saying, “Well, we were able to actually talk through everything after you shouted some sense into us. As it stands, we unfortunately can’t send you back to the Mortal Realm. Not yet anyway, it’s too dangerous.”
“Because of the spider demons, right?”
“Yeah. Mei and Redson told us that you were cornered by the Huntsman. Which means the Spider Queen will have her best tracker back. It’ll be safer for you all to remain here, with us.”
“When will we be able to go back home then?” Mk panicked seeing Wukong suddenly turn away, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean-”
“No, it’s… Your life was not built here. It’s in the Mortal Realm. We can’t expect you to just leave all of that behind for us… That would be horribly selfish.”
“...That doesn’t mean we can’t have…something of a relationship, right?” MK said cautiously.
Wukong looked back over to MK, clearly very hopeful by the teen’s statement. Surprise shifted to a warm smile as he nodded. “We can try, I would love that.”
MK smiled back. Taking a deep breath before shifting himself over to the branch Wukong was resting on. The God happily accepted the teen’s gentle hug, his own arms wrapping around MK.
“So…what are they celebrating? The city. I’m assuming it’s a celebration.”
“It’s more of a day of remembrance, for you.”
 “Me?”
“The citizens wanted to put this on, for your birthday, so your story wouldn’t be forgotten. We would have normally shown up at this time. But, uh, we sent word that we wouldn’t be attending today. None of them knew of our plan.”
 “Oh…so they don’t know that I’m here?”
“No, and they won’t until you’re ready for that. They believe we just wanted to be alone for today. …Now, how are you feeling?”
 “Tired…and hungry.”
Wukong laughed softly. “We can fix both of those easily. But only if you’re ready to go back in.”
“Yeah…I’m feeling better now. Thank you.” MK let out a happy chirp when a kiss was placed on his forehead. Another round of chirps exchanged between the two, gentle laughs following.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SMALLPWBBLES
It took me a while but I finally finished your birthday fic @smallpwbbles ! I couldn’t resist writing a little What If? for Bitty MK and I really hope you enjoy it!
“Well…” Tang started with a strained chuckle as he held onto his chair with a grip so tight that Pigsy could swear he could hear his knuckles straining. “At least we know if anyone tries to attack or something… MK will probably scare half of the lifespan out of them when he picks up a car to chuck it at them.”
Given the way he continued to grip the chair even after the now shrunken Monkie Kid put him and the chair he was sitting in back down, Pigsy wouldn’t have been surprised if Tang had lost a few years of his own out of sheer shock and panic. Even though this was the second time it had happened that day and, really, Tang should have really expected it after MK had said he was looking for one of his markers and needed to see if it was under his chair.
Things to remember for the future, he supposed.
To say the situation was unusual was a massive understatement. How the young adult managed to be shrunken back down into a small child the chef still didn’t quite understand, and quite frankly as long as MK was safe and healthy and would eventually get back to normal size he really didn’t care to know the details. But he did understand that they now had a small child sized MK with the strength of one full grown Monkey King running around without the self realization to notice how terrifying this was to everyone around him.
At least he seemed to be having fun for most of the day. MK has finally wound down, munching on some peeled and cut fruit as an after dinner snack while surrounded by a veritable mountain of art supplies. How any single person, let alone a kid, could go through so much paper and so many markers in one day Pigsy would never know. But, then again, this was MK he was thinking about.
MK had always had a fierce streak for art. Pigsy had him to thank for his own shop’s sign, after all. The kid had skill, and lots of it, and while slightly diminished by the fact his hands barely reached around some of the markers anymore his tenacity had not even been the littlest bit lessened.
What had been lessened as well, however, were his shop hours. The shop has closed a bit early for the day, Pigsy only able to fill out so many orders for dine in only when he was the only employee currently working. And while Mei has been a huge help throughout the entire day with MK, she wasn’t his employee and he didn’t feel right asking her to take over as delivery driver (even if she would have done a great job). Besides, he was almost certain that if Tang was left alone with MK the poor man would have had at least one fainting spell out of sheer terror.
He’d sent Mei back home after she’d finished a meal he’d prepared for her, a full day of making sure that MK didn’t get into too much trouble wiping her out a lot faster than anyone expected. He had to admit… she was handling it better than nearly anyone else. Certainly better than Sun Wukong had. The Monkey King looked like he was holding it together pretty well but Pigsy was smarter than the immortal seemed to think he was.
He knew that other was internally freaking the hell out the entire time and it was even more obvious when he rushed off to find something to get MK back to normal once the kid has presented him with a self portrait of the king himself.
Granted, when Pigsy has been presented with much the same of himself he may have also internally freaked out a bit himself. But that was neither here nor there.
“Pigsy?” MK’s voice broke through the chef’s thoughts, soft and tired. “Do I have to go to bed?”
That was an… odd question to hear coming from anyone in any circumstance.
“Afraid ya do, kid,” Pigsy said with a soft chuckle. He moved around the counter, coming up to stand at the table the younger was currently sitting at. Now that he looked at him Pigsy could tell that MK was exhausted. He’d never seen a kid with such deep bags under their eyes before… which was odd. He was certain that he had taken some kind of nap at some point. “But you don’t have to until you and I get this place cleaned out, how’s that sound?”
“OK!” MK exclaimed as he wiped his face on his sleeves (Pigsy groaned knowing that his jacket would need to be washed as soon as possible), grabbing his plate to rush it into the kitchen.
“WASH YOUR HANDS AND YOUR FACE!”
~
“Softie,” Tang chuckled out as Pigsy adjusted the completely passed out MK in his arms.
“You cried when MK gave you your portrait, you don’t get to say anything,” Pigsy shot right back without even a single note of actual annoyance or venom in his tone. “Besides, kid’s even more of a ray of sunshine now. Can’t help it.”
“Very good points,” Tang said, stretching after he put the last of the chairs back in their places for the end of the day. “But that ray of sunshine is probably going to wake us up at 5 in the morning given what time it is now.”
Pigsy couldn’t help but snort and laugh in response, knowing that Tang was right but also knowing that only Tang would find that a problem considering Pigsy had to get up at roughly that time to prepare to open his shop anyway.
He never got to say that, however, because a distant scream of “PIG MAN YOU’VE GOT A PROBLEM!” rang through the shop before the still unlocked door slammed open to reveal one very frazzled immortal monkey.
Just… not the one he was expecting to see.
“UH…” He managed out, as Macaque shut the door behind himself, looking like he was questioning all of his life decisions.
Then he held up one sleeping and very… very small shrunken child Sun Wukong.
“… well shit.”

I wanted to make a fanfic based on this post
Thought it be fun even if no one reads it XD. And if people do then awsome! This is just for fun! So enjoy!
-------------------------------------------------------
MK was in shock. He had never expected this. Not on this journey. Not ever. He was abandoned. Called useless and if stuck around would just get in the way. Maybe not the Monkey King's actual words, but its sure felt like it. Pigsy and Tang were useful for food and knowledge. Mei had her sword And MK? Well, he didn't have any powers. Not anymore. Not after the LBD took them along with his staff. MK sobbed lightly. LBD was right. Monkey King chose the wrong successor. The rain he was standing in fell harder the water making his hair droop slightly from the weight of the water droplets. He just stood there. Maybe if he stood there he'd come back. Maybe it was a test. Maybe he was dreaming. Monkey King will come back. That's all he thought while standing in the rain. He had to have been standing there for an hour when he hears moving and a voice all too familiar. "Kid?" MK looked over to see Macaque. "Macaque? What are you doing out here?" MK spoke very cautiously. Macaque looked at him sighing. "Kid you have been sitting out here for an hour, in the rain. What happened?" Macaque hummed looking around. "Where's the great sage?" He spoke mockingly. That made MK break and he cried harder. That made Macaque freeze and look at the kid. "He didn't." Macaque hissed. "He didn't leave a kid out here to fend for himself." Macaque was enraged. While yes. He had uses MK to fight Sun Wukong. He was never planning on killing the kid, and to be honest, after the shadow play he performed he kinda got a little more respect for the cub kid. MK just stared at Macaque crying. The rain falling with his tears, that he had hoped Macaque couldn't see. Macaque walked over to MK putting his cape over the kid. "Come one kid. You know he's not coming back." Macaque looked at MK with saddened eyes. He related to the kid's circumstance, but MK only saw it for a second as Macaque tried to look away before the cub kid could see. He held him close to his cape as they walked. MK sneezed. Obviously getting sick from the rain and how cold it had become from the sun setting. Macaque sighed. " You need to worry about you're self more. Ya know that right?" MK looked up Macaque confused. Macaque didn't move his eyes away from what was in front of them. "Why do you care?" MK asked looking at him before looking away and sneezing again. "Because he did the same thing to me MK. Like I said. Good kid. Horrible teacher." Macaque seemed genuinely angry, which was still slightly confused MK. "But why do you care about me." MK rephrased what he said. He could see Macaque's gears turning in his head to find a good response. One that didn't include a soft spot, but one that was still, mostly, honest. He sighed. " I guess-" Macaque paused rephrasing what he was about to say. "Well im you're teacher. Good teachers help their students, right?" He looked down at MK who had sneezed again. "Yeah..." MK smiled up at Macaque which gave the dark-furred monkey a surprise. He had fully expected the kid to yell at him for the awful stuff he had done, but the cub kid was very forgiving. Which Macaque knew already. Didn't mean he was expecting. I guess plus that, the kid needs support from someone. Anyone. Even an 'enemy'. If macaque really counted as one at all. He held the cub kid closer after that. MK sneezed again tears still falling as they walked into a pretty abanded looking home. "Let's dry you off. " Macaque said not looking at MK. MK nodded a small smile. "You know. You're not a bad person Macaque, Thank you is what im trying to say."
