Don't Give Up On Me (Todo Aoi x Reader)

pairings: Todo Aoi x Fem!reader

summary: After the fight, you were visited by none other than Todo himself.

warnings: MAJOR JJK SPOILERS!! Violence, Language, Implied Sexual Themes (?)

You didn't know what happened after the fight, all you know is that you are in your dorm room with needles attached to your body. You stared at the ceiling for what seemed like hours to you, no one knew that you were awake, and you're planning on keeping it that way.

You replayed what Mizuki had told you during the fight, "You need to let some of us go." You clenched your fist, knowing that if you did, the upper-ups would suspend you. You let out a sigh, closing your eyes. "You're getting weaker." You cringed at Hanami's words, even a cursed spirit can see through you.

"Breathe." You whispered, taking a deep breath, hands relaxing. You let out a small smile, finding a bit of peace even in your situation. That peace was quickly snatched from you when 3 loud knocks were heard from outside your door. You knew who it was immediately- but you were not ready to see just yet.

The door creaked open and you heard his heavy footsteps. You stayed still, breathing evenly as he approached you. Todo carefully walked over to you, seeing how peaceful you were in your slumber.

"Hey," He whispered, trying not to startle you awake. Once he knew you were asleep, he approached your bed, sitting on the edge. He stared at you, in awe at your beauty even in your sleep.

He was about to reach for your wounded cheek when he stopped mid-air, awkwardly putting back his hand on his side. He sighed, taking in the design of your room, and for a minute, your heart sped up when he stood up and went somewhere in your room.

"Huh..." Todo whispered, noticing certain familiar pictures pinned on your pinboard. He walked slowly, smiling a bit when he finally reached the board. He removed one of the pictures and stared at it. "You never burned it, huh?" He mumbled, taking in the picture from your first year.

The two of you were in town, having a date when you noticed a photobooth and dragged him along. He has the same picture on his wallet, though it was hidden.

He pinned back the picture, he then took a glance at you, a smile forming on his lips when he saw your eyelash twitch.

"How low are you planning on pretending to be asleep, huh?" Your heart raced, knowing he caught you. He sat back to the edge of your bed, smirking widely.

"Yeah, totally awake." He reached your wounded cheek this time, and you flinched, eyes fluttering open. "Hey." You were met with dark brown eyes staring directly at you, you could feel the soft pad of his palms covering the scar.

The two of you stared at each other until you spoke, "What are you doing here?" Your words are sharper than you intend to be. He saw the hint of annoyance in your eyes and pulled his hand away.

Regret quickly made its way into your chest- wishing he was holding you softly once again. "Just wanna check on ya." He then stood up, "And by the looks of it, I should call Ms. Shoko."

You quickly grabbed him by the wrist, still lying on your bed. "Wait!" He turned to look at you, eyes furrowed with confusion. You slowly sat up, letting out a soft groan when you tried to kove your sore muscles, Todo in an instant was beside you, guiding your movements.

"Don't call anyone..." You whispered, shaking your head. He thought for a second before nodding his head, not wanting to make you uncomfortable. "I won't, but why?" He asked- you huffed and rolled your eyes.

"I don't really want to see anyone right now." You avoided his prying gaze, knowing that he would see through you if he did see the hurt in your eyes. "It's nothing, really." You shook your head, not wanting to talk about the issue further.

"Ms. Shoko told me why you're so exhausted during and even after the fight." He stated, his stare stern and disapproving. "How many spirits are inside you?" You let go of his wrist as you bow your head in embarrassment.

He crossed his arms, muscles bulging from the tight pressure. "'M fine." You grumbled, cheeks burning. "Yeah? Kamo told me that you were slow on the battlefield, that's not like you." You clutched to your blanket, nose stinging from anger and being upset.

The last thing you want is a scolding from your ex-boyfriend. "What do you know about me?" You snapped, finally looking at him, eyes brimming with unshed tears.

He noticed it quickly and stayed quiet, the question hitting him hard in the chest. "You don't get to just care for me- you don't." You wiped your eyes, angry at yourself for crying because of a small thing.

"Why did you leave me?" Todo asked, his usual cocky and rough tone replaced by uncertainty and regret. You furrow your brows, the question was unexpected- and you thought the two of you were past these point.

"I know that I'm not from one of the most powerful clans like you- but why did you give up on me so easily?" You turned to him, in disbelief of what you were hearing.

"Give up on you so easily? Give up on you?! I fought for you in ways you didn't know. You are here because I fought for you. For us." You raised your voice pulling away your blanket and setting your feet on the edge of the bed.

You stood up, face to face with him as you spoke. "You are still in Jujutsu tech, because of me. Because I fought literal demons of the clan heads. I walked through hell and back to make sure you're safe." You pushed him by his chest, eyes and nose stinging. "So don't give me the crap that I gave up so easily on you. On us."

You finally shed a tear, then another- then another until you were crying. It has been what- 3 months? 4? After the 5 months you were enduring all the pain and suffering from physical and mental pain you are in, you were finally letting it all out.

"You're right- you were not from any clan and that made my parents hate you, but I fought. Even went so far that I almost got disowned. But I always thought of you- I needed to protect you- like you protected me from that grade-1 cursed spirit that day."

You rambled, "Everything I did back then, I did it so you could be strong and protect your own- I avoided you like the plague every time we were partnered together on missions just so I wouldn't come back crying to you.

You were the first person in Jujutsu tech who showed that even after all the power that I hold, I'm still a person." The both of you stared at each other, him trying to process what you had said.

"How could you think I gave up so easily on us?" You asked, lips quivering as you hugged yourself in shame. "I'm sorry, I got carried away-" You didn't even get to finish your sentence when you felt his warm hands on both your cheeks. You stopped rambling, eyes focusing on his.

He always does this back then, when you get so carried away with things and you can't stop. He easily makes you focus on him instead. "Hey." Your eyes stung at the memory, you didn't know how much you missed his presence until now.

"Hey..." you mumbled back, tears on your cheek. "Come here." You didn't have to be told twice, you hugged him by his torso, burying your head in his chest.

He welcomed you fully, rubbing soothing circles on your back as he let you cry your heart out. After crying for long, you finally pulled away, avoiding eye contact. "Feeling better?" You nodded, finally noticing that you'd ripped the needle out of you.

"Look, I know you're parents do not like me but I like you. I love you. I never stopped loving you, so please, give me another chance to prove myself worth it." You would've cried at his words but it was a bit weird and cliché so you chuckled a bit.

"You going soft on me, Aoi?" You gasped when he got on his knees, "I'm serious, I won't stand up until you say yes." He was committed, and it was a bit hilarious and sweet.

"You're not giving me much of a choice here." You shrugged, "but... yes. This time, I won't let my parents pull you away from me." You grabbed his arms and helped him stand up, not expecting him to lift you from the ground.

You squealed, instinctively wrapping your arms around his neck. "Fuck, I missed you so much." He hugged you close, nuzzling his face on your neck. "Aoi, calm down! That tickles!" You tried to push him away with your other hand, laughing at the way he whines.

He finally stopped trying to tickle you but still held you up. The two of you were staring at each other, "You look so tired," he said, squeezing you a bit. "I have been for the past weeks." You confessed, smiling sadly.

"You need to let them go." He let you down, letting your feet touch the ground. "I will, but not until I give them the ceremony that they deserve." You replied, taking his massive hands on yours. "For now..." you tangled your hands together, getting closer to him. "Get Ms Shoko because I'm sure I still need to get treated."

"You really gonna tease me?" He furrowed his brows, squeezing your fingers back. "What are you talking about?" You feigned offence, gasping a bit. "Stop that, I won't hold back." He grinned bending on your height.

"Yeah?" You challenged, leaning closer. "What you gonna do, kiss me?" You mocked, making kissing noises. "Maybe I will. You would want that, would you?" He then let go of your hands, putting it both on the either side of your cheeks.

"Yeah, maybe I do." You breathe out, staring at his eyes. He stared back, a smirk on his face. "May I?" His eyes took a glance at your lips before returning to your eyes. At that moment you knew what he was asking, and you knew what you wanted.

"Yes." It was all the answer that he needed before he pressed his lips on yours, his hands roaming from your cheeks to your waist. Your hands unconsciously snaking to his neck, pulling him closer.

The kiss was full of many things, it was warm and sweet, full of passion and regret from the past. You pulled away, looking at him before kissing him once again, this time, it was more messy, licking his lower lips as he allowed you to explore his mouth.

Let's just say that the two of you have to make up for the lost time.

MMJ do a regular stream segment called "more more internet!" Where they play games, learn more about fan culture ect, with Minori being backed up by their friends like Mizuki and Saki for anime shows, Ichika for fanfics, ect.

MMJ learned their lesson to do some baseline research on games, when Ichika, Rui, and Mizuki independently submitted DDLC, Cooking companions, and Omori. they get competitive so quickly. i can feel it.

theyre also the definition of a ‘ its only okay when i do it ‘ person. like , for example , if you played a +4 card , they’d mockingly let out a loud whine for giggles. but if they have a +4 or +2 too , get ready to see a mischievous grin paint their face. theyd take this as a competition they have to win.

i feel like theyd trick you with their facial expressions and actions. lets say , you switch the color to one they have lots of cards of. theyd let out a surprised gasp while laying down on you a reverse card, two skip cards and a +4 card.

half of it , they’re determined to win. if theyre feeling nice tho , mizuki will play easy for you. that lasts the total of maximum 2 rounds tho , they have a streak to maintain.

most of the time , you cant win for your dear life. if you do get lucky tho , they will jokingly get upset , but is actually pleasantly surprised! guess their talent sticked off to you.

i kind of imagine mizuki remaking the whole decks design when bored. like your own version of uno. the jirai keified version. like those making [thing] coquette.

about how frequently you’ll play tho? i think atleast once a month. even more , if you ask. they mostly play whenever theyre feeling sad tho , one game of uno with you lifts their spirits up and boosts their ego for the day higher than an americans appetite.

ok , that’s exaggerating now , isnt it?

kanade surely played uno before with nightcord in empty sekai. it being , ofcourse , mizukis idea. its not like shes an absolute pro at it tho.

but shes not incapable of not understanding the rules , either. she’d take a strategy and maximum beat you 3 times. maximum. i feel like you’d be the better one.

i feel like you wouldnt play so frequently , only when you so happen to be over while kanades taking a break from composing. so things wouldnt get awkward , you always bring a card deck of uno with you.

if your relationship is established after the ‘ saying goodbye to my masked self ‘ event , mafuyu would oftenly join your game by kanades invitation. if youre lucky enough to catch honami unoccupied , dont be shy to call her too! the more the merrier.

even so , she does not care about the winner at all. kanades just happy to spend some quality time with you, even if its over uno. which leads me to think you’d let her win on purpose sometimes. her eyes sparkle a bit whenever she does get the victory over you , it is a scenery you cannot get enough of.

The whole story of the illegal sale of Candy Candy products by Yumiko Igarashi

What is Candy Candy?

Candy Candy is shojo manga that was published between 1975 and 1981 in Nakayoshi magazine. It was written by Kyoko Mizuki (Keiko Nagita) and illustrated by Yumiko Igarashi. It was adapted to anime between 1976 and 1979 with a total of 115 episodes by Toei Animation.

The dramatic story of the sweet and optimistic Candy was an international success and is today an icon of shojo manga and one of the best sellers.

Evidently, the copyright holders are both Mizuki and Igarashi, and the trademark rights holder is Toei Animation.

Beginning of the conflict: Cancellation of the contract with Kodansha

According to Igarashi, her subsequent works at Kodansha didn't achieve significant sales, so the publisher abandoned her.

Candy Candy's views were decreasing over time and Kodansha did nothing. So Igarashi asked Mizuki to cancel her contract with Kodansha, Mizuki chose her friend and they did so on February 26, 1995.

Toei Animation also had a contract with Kodansha for Candy Candy, which automatically expired when Mizuki and Igarashi canceled their contract. To broadcast Candy Candy, Toei Animation had to sign a new contract with Igarashi and Mizuki. Toei Animation and Mizuki tried to contact Igarashi many times for this but were unsuccessful.

Meanwhile, Igarashi was working with Fuji Sankei (now Qualus), through which she was able to offer licenses to many companies to sell Candy Candy products without asking permission from Mizuki or Toei.

The unmasking: Banpresto's purikura

One of these companies was Banpresto Co., Ltd., which develops video games and makes collectible figures. Igarashi lied about creating a new (fictitious) company in Hong Kong with Mizuki and Toei called "Candy Corporation." Igarashi and Banpresto made a "purikura" (Japanese photo booths) contract. Banpresto asked Igarashi many times if Mizuki was aware of this contract, Igarashi always confirmed it. Banpresto considered it rude to ask Mizuki herself to confirm, so they agreed.

So how did they find out what Igarashi was doing? Candy Candy's purikura was set up at the Tokyo Gulliver Store in Matsudo, Chiba Prefecture, which was a large gaming center managed by Banpresto.

Banpresto intended to install its purikura machines throughout the country, including Candy Candy.

Igarashi stated that she accepted the purikura because it was only "a test case" and that she would have no compensation. She said that she was worried that Mizuki would reject the offer because Mizuki didn't like games at all (which Mizuki never said), so she planned to talk to Mizuki later if the test was successful. News of Candy Candy's purikura spread through the media and reached Mizuki in May 1997. Igarashi says that Mizuki told her over the phone that if she had known she wouldn't have refused, and that Igarashi was trying to keep the profits for herself. She said that Mizuki forced her to cancel the purikura event and that she hired a lawyer to sue Igarashi. Mizuki refuted this on her official website. Igarashi stated that she didn't receive any benefit from the purikura because it was only a prototype. Even if it were, purikura isn't free, so benefits were generated.

The problem is that the idea of creating a purikura was Igarashi's, not Banpresto's. Banpresto, upon realizing that they hadn't received permission from Mizuki, removed the purikura and wouldn't move it until the copyright issue was resolved. That's why Mizuki didn't sue Banpresto. Still, Banpresto apologized profusely for being involved in the scam.

Mizuki comments that she wasn't sure about canceling the contract with Kodansha, her husband didn't recommend it, but she still did it and regrets it. Her husband asked the legal advisor who had drawn up the contract, the legal advisor didn't know. Worried, Mizuki and her husband wanted to talk to Igarashi to discuss what they would do with Candy Candy from then on, but Igarashi kept putting off her request, saying that she was busy and for her to wait until the next month, and so on.

Mizuki became suspicious and finally they found out about the purikura issue, they even went to Banpresto to ask for explanations, to which Banpresto responded that they received the copyright to do it from the (fictitious) company that Igarashi created without Mizuki or Toei. They also told her how Igarashi confirmed to them several times that she had Mizuki's permission. Although purikura was considered a test, they received benefits for it.

As a result of this, everything that Igarashi had been doing in Hong Kong was discovered: she published manga products without authorization through Jade Dynasty Publishing. When this publisher found out that they didn't have Mizuki's permission either, they canceled the contract with Candy Corporation.

To all this, Igarashi insisted that 80% of Candy Candy belongs to her, and that only 20% belongs to Mizuki.

The case of fake original illustrations

In August 1997, the sale of original illustrations (again, without Mizuki's permission) was announced in the Sankei Shimbun. Finally, in September 1997, Fuji Sankei was sued for its lack of sincerity. These illustrations were actually prints made by a printer, they went on sale in February 1998 as a high quality print, but people in the art world warned that it wasn't a high quality print. That is, they were selling reprints at a high price as if they were high quality but they weren't.

An expert commented that these fakes have a real value of 30 to 200 yen ($0.19-1.27). If they were originals, it would be between 8,000 and 20,000 yen ($50.73-126.84) (and framed); but Igarashi and Fuji Sankei sold them for between 40,000 and 140,000 yen ($253.67-887.85). The deceived fans were deeply hurt, if they had known that they were buying it without Mizuki's permission and at a higher price than the real one, they wouldn't have bought it.

Mail order advertisements in newspapers ceased, but they were still distributed and sold in art galleries, for example Atelier Beauty and Prince Gallery.

The problem of selling products without the Mizuki's name

A friend of Igarashi spread the false rumor that Mizuki sued Igarashi without talking to her first. In fact, the decision to report a friend of 20 years wasn't easy for Mizuki, but she had to do it AFTER talking to her. But she and Fuji Sankei refused to have a conversation with her about what happened. Several people told Mizuki to be careful with Igarashi, but Mizuki always defended her.

In the indication © on products, the names of all copyright holders must be added and never omitted without their consent. In the following images you can see which are the official products and which are the Igarashi products.

In this bag we see that the three names are included, it is original.

This backpack is also an official product, it contains the names of Mizuki and Igarashi.

Let's now look at the illegal merchandise. In this product we can see only the Igarashi's name.

This other one used Mizuki's name without her permission.

The impossible broadcast of Candy Candy

In 2001 all broadcasting rights granted to foreign companies expired. So the later copies are pirated copies disguised as official products. This was done, for example, by Power International Multimedia Inc., Igarashi's business partner in Taiwan. Even after Igarashi lost her lawsuit in 2008, Power International released this DVD box set unlicensed from Toei Animation.

When it was discovered what Igarashi had been doing, Toei and Mizuko planned to resolve the situation by ratifying the illegal goods (confirming the counterfeit products and rebirthing them as an official product) if the Igarashi side appealed and didn't fight further after the court's ruling, with the intention to help scammed companies. But the matter reached the Supreme Court. The products spread so much around the world that nothing could be done about it.

On August 23, 1999, Mizuki and Toei signed an agreement stating that Toei Animation could register "Candy Candy" as a trademark so that it can broadcast the anime.

Currently, Toei Animation is wary of digitally remastering all 115 episodes (which would cost a considerable amount of money) only to have it eventually canceled due to the ongoing copyright dispute.

Mizuki allowed the anime to be broadcast. But there are many factors why it cannot be broadcast, even abroad:

The contract with Toei Animation hasn't been renewed.

The copyright dispute.

The problem of infringement of trademark rights by Igarashi.

Igarashi sent Toei Animation to court to invalidate its trademark on July 10, 2001, but this was dismissed.

Igarashi filed a lawsuit against Mizuki requesting consent to remake it.

In short, if both creators don't recognize the copyright and give their consent, the anime cannot be broadcast. But Igarashi didn't want to, she even wanted the trademark rights for herself, but Mizuki didn't allow it. Anyway, it's not fair because the anime version is also the work of Toei staff and voice actors. Igarashi gave Toei permission to rebroadcast it, but without acknowledging Mizuki's copyright, it became a vicious cycle.

Japan Manga Society against Kyoko Mizuki

Igarashi has publicly stated on many sites that Kyoko Mizuki isn't the original author. This is quite questionable because the story was written by Mizuki, Igarashi drew it. The Japan Manga Society doesn't offer Mizuki's presence and instead allows Igarashi to present convenient arguments and dismiss the Supreme Court's ruling. The Copyright Subcommittee of the Japan Manga Society declared that Mizuki's blocking the sale of products produced by Igarashi without permission from Mizuki and Toei was an abuse of rights without justifiable reason, even suggesting that Igarashi file a lawsuit against Mizuki.

During and after losing the case, Igarashi continued her illegal business saying that she had reached a deal with Mizuki (a lie).

Yumiko Igarashi on trial

Kodansha itself attempted to persuade Igarashi to apologize and reconcile with Mizuki by submitting a total of 3 statements to the district court in 1998 by Mitsuro Shimizu, the editor in charge of Candy Candy at Kodansha. Still, Japan Manga Society said Kodansha didn't testify. Mitsuro Shimizu explained that the editorial department selected Mizuki as the original author, the concept of Candy was discussed between Igarashi, Mizuki and Shimizu. Igarashi expressed her wishes and opinions but in the end it was Mizuki who made the final decision as the writer. Kunio Hase, the director of the Japan Manga Society said that these statements were false. Yukio Shindo, director of copyright business promotion at Kodansha, stated in court in October 1998 that manga works written from the original work are always subject to the original copyright of the original author, which to use a work for secondary use, permission must be obtained from the original author and the manga artist whatever it may be (even if they're illustrations) and that Kodansha always considered Kyoko Mizuko as the original author during the 20-year contract. The Japan Manga Society said that the Supreme Court's decision to position Mizuki as the original author is an absurd ruling that doesn't reflect the real situation of the manga industry. Kodansha has always maintained with legal opinions that Kyoko Mizuki is the original author and the manga work is a derivative, the work of the original manuscript. Yumiko Igarashi commented that the Supreme Court ruling naming Mizuko as the original author was unfair and doesn't accept that the person who wrote "just the words" has the copyright. In this situation, neither Kodansha can reprint the manga, nor can Toei broadcast the anime.

February 25, 1999: "Candy Candy" Case (Fuji Sankei)

Mizuki denounces the sale without her permission of false "high quality" illustrations by Igarashi and Fuji Kasei. The court recognized Mizuki as the owner of the copyright and ordered Igarashi to stop publication. Characters can't be used without Mizuki's permission. In November 1995 they signed a contract that established that their consent was required for the use of the characters, but Igarashi breached it.

April 8, 1999: "Candy Candy" Incident (Yumiko Igarashi Museum)

Mizuki denounces that products with Candy Candy's image continue to be sold without her permission, even after winning the first trial. The Yumiko Igarashi Museum had been conducting mail-order sales of Candy Candy products on the official Yumiko Igarashi website.

March 17, 2000: Candy Candy Illustration Sales Case (Shizuka Art)

Mizuki sues Shizuka Art for selling Candy Candy's image without her permission. An interim injunction was granted against Shizuka Art to prohibit sales. Shizuka Art was exhibiting and selling new paintings by Yumiko Igarashi as original paintings.

March 30, 2000: "Candy Candy" Case (Fuji Sankei)

The judge noted that in manga, the illustrations and the development of the story are inseparable and integral. You can't sell the illustrations.

May 25, 2000: "Candy Candy" Case (Kabaya Foods)

Between 1998 and 1999, Kabaya Foods, with only Igarashi's consent, manufactured and sold candy bags featuring the Candy Candy characters. The judge stated that the original author can exercise copyright even if only images are used. The Tokyo District Court ordered the defendant to pay approximately 3 million yen ($19,029.75).

October 17, 2000: Candy Candy Paintings Sales Case (Shizuka Art)

The "Hello Candy Candy" exhibition displayed and sold paintings of Candy Candy, again without Mizuki's consent.

December 26, 2000: Candy Candy Commercialization Case

Mizuki demands Fuji Sankei and Yumiko Igarashi.

March 2001: Japanese anime remake test

Igarashi filed a lawsuit against Mizuki demanding a remake of Candy Candy with Nippon Animation.

August 7-September 28, 2001: Toei trademark invalidation trial

Igarashi filed a trademark invalidation suit against Toei Animation on July 10 but it was dismissed because in 1999 Mizuki and Toei signed an agreement establishing that Toei Animation would register Candy Candy as a trademark.

October 25, 2001: "Candy Candy" Case (Fuji Sankei)

For the third time, the judge explains to her that copyright can't be enforced without the consent of the original author and the manga artist. They granted the copyright to the original author, Mizuki.

February 23, 2002: "Candy Candy" Incident (Lucky Corporation, Osaka)

Lucky Corporation sues Igarashi because it suffered damages of approximately 45 million yen ($285,446.25) from the manufacture and sale of "Candy Candy" products, a right granted by Igarashi but not by Mizuki. Igarashi paid about 10 million yen ($63,432.50) and a settlement fee.

April 2002: Otaru Art Museum Exhibition Test

Yumiko sued Mizuki over the exhibition at the Otaru Art Museum.

May 30, 2002: Candy Candy Clothing Sale (Tanii, Dan Enterprises, Sunbright, Earth Project)

Mizuki sues several clothing sales companies for commercializing Candy Candy characters without permission. The damage claim was for 55 million yen ($348,878.75), but the Tokyo District Court ordered her to pay approximately 29 million yen ($183,954.25).

September 10, 2003: "Candy Candy" merchandise breach of contract case

Toymaker Apple One made Candy Candy puzzles, again, only with Igarashi's permission, not Mizuki's. So they sued Igarashi and other companies that claimed to own the copyrights they granted them to make the puzzles.

July 21, 2004: "Candy Candy" merchandise breach of contract case

The Tokyo District Court of First Instance sentenced Igarashi to pay approximately 1.75 million yen ($11,100.69).

September 2005: Kurashiki Art Museum Exhibition Test

Mizuki against the Kurashiki Art Museum, which held an exhibition of Candy Candy with only the permission of Igarashi, who said "I don't need permission to show it."

甜甜 Lady Lady: The Taiwanese Candy

You may have ever used an image mistakenly thinking it was Candy. That's because Igarashi created a "new original work" called "Lady Lady" in Taiwan that curiously resembles "Candy Candy" (the difference is in the bangs and that she doesn't have freckles). The other two characters also look like Anthony and Terry.

In this way, Igarashi challenges Toei Animation by infringing (again) Toei's trademark rights. As if that were not enough, "Lady Lady" is the title of the animated version of "Lady!!" by Yoko Hide and trademark of Toei Animation. Also, Candy Candy's title in Chinese is "小甜甜" (Xiǎo tián tián), literally "Little Candy Candy". I mean, it's a shameless mix between Candy Candy and Lady Lady. 甜甜 is the Chinese name of Yumiko Igarashi's Lady Lady.

Current situation

Since as of today they have not reached an agreement, the anime cannot be broadcast nor the manga can be published either in Japan or abroad. The authors continued with their professional careers. Igarashi can't create or sell any products related to Candy Candy, something Mizuki can do, without using Igarashi's illustrations.

To date, Igarashi has't expressed any apology to Mizuki or Toei Animation. In fact, she is suspected of still producing illegal goods on the foreign market. Mizuki feels sad, not only because of everything that happened, but also because of the malicious mentality that Igarashi had about her, thinking that she was her friend.

Please, be careful with the products you buy of Candy Candy, try to make sure they're original and not illegal products. Do not contribute to Igarashi's illegal business.

I just found something so huge brained in my notes app you guys

I think Mizuki would enjoy being in Nightcord VCs whenever she's doing something boring, it keeps the executive dysfunction at bay. In this case, it's spring cleaning!

She's going through storage boxes she hasn't touched in a while, informing her circle members every time she finds something interesting, occasionally turning her webcam on to show it off... And then she comes across the box that houses her magical girl toy collection.

Gasp!! She totally thought she lost this particular MiraMagi henshin pact!! She turns her video on and shows everyone her beloved toy. Ah, but it doesn't look nearly as cool as usual when it's not turned on... That simply won't do. She runs off to go get batteries for it, turns it on, and shows her group members every single light sequence!!

... Oh, right, she's supposed to be cleaning!! She gets back on that. For all of five minutes. And then... gasp!! Her MiraMagi deluxe play-and-learn tablet (with 20+ educational minigames included)!! This one, too, is turned on and shown off... As she idly starts one of its minigames, she reminisces on the day she got it. She was a little embarrassed buying this particular toy, it doesn't quite scream "collectors' item for all ages" as much as the simpler henshin items. This was absolutely, undeniably a toy for little kids, and there she was, buying it for herself, about 3 times the age of the intended audience.

She mostly just wanted it because it looked pretty, but upon turning it on and tapping around aimlessly for a bit, she discovered that the minigames were actually pretty fun! And, weirdly enough, sometimes they were even challenging for her. She'd had to hand off the device to her sister in order to finish a level every so often... Jeez, she wishes her sister was here right now, this level is one of the tougher ones.

At this point, every member of the VC (sans Mizuki herself) has gotten a pretty good idea as to the minigames' mysterious spikes in difficulty. It's pretty hard not to come to the conclusion that they have, given that Mizuki's messing up every other word she says, and that the game she's struggling with seems to focus on single-digit addition.

There's some typing from Ena's end, and, a moment later, she asks Mizuki if she'd like to pop over to Empty SEKAI for some help. Kanade and Mafuyu are also surprisingly enthused about seeing the device in person, with the former suggesting that Miku and the others might like to take a look at it too!!

Mizuki is overjoyed at everyone's interest in her cool toy, and she agrees right away, promising to bring over as many toys as she can carry!! Cue several hours of a very happy baby showing off her toys to everyone who will look. No more spring cleaning gets done that day.

Do you have a list of all the people who’ve done the animations for MVs? To my knowledge they’re mostly omu but I’m wondering who else there may be regularly producing MVs

I spent all day putting the credits for every MV into a spreadsheet. stats time

omu has done the motion graphics for the most 2DMVs, with a total of 43 as of posting. This includes 33 event songs that were originally released as a 2DMV (only missing Glory Steady Go!, Tricologe, Metamo Re:born, Parasol Cider, CRaZY, and Purpose), 3 other commissions (Keitai Renwa, Aoiro Enogu, and Hurray), 1 Virtual Singer MV (Just Be Friends), and 6 covers (Inochi ni Kirawarete iru., the Kanade alt vocal MV for that song, Viva Happy, Miracle Paint, Jishou Mushoku and Hello,world!)

It seems they're entirely reserved for event commissions nowadays

The second most frequent animator is OTOIRO, who has done the motion graphics on 18 2DMVs. Their first MV was Otome Kaibou, and some of their other MVs include TONDEMO-WONDERZ, Salamander, PaIII.SENSATION, and three of the 2022 April Fools MVS.

Interestingly every MV they've worked on has had a director and they're usually the animator on MVs with a bigger production team (aside from the traditionally animated ones like Gunjou Sanka and NEO which don't have motion graphics, and also Tokugawa Cup Noodle Kinshirei)

Next would be Lye, who has worked on 11 MVs. The first MV they worked on was Jackpot Sad Girl, but their other works include Traffic Jam, STAGE OF SEKAI, and Twilight Light.

There's multiple MVs made by motion graphics artists from a group called THINGS. One of these animators is Akito Nakayama, who has worked on 6 MVs, the 4th most out of anyone. Some of the MVs he worked on were Shoujorei, IDSMILE, and the April Fools Venom cover

Another member of THINGS has started working on MVs recently, and I've seen a lot of people say they're one of the best editors we've had. That would be NUL, who did the animations for Darling Dance, purpose, and DAYBREAK FRONTLINE

3 other members of THINGS have worked on MVs. Takumi Osera worked on the April Fools MV for Positive☆Dance Time and the vsinger MV for potato ni Natte iku, ZIIEK worked on Amanojaku, and Hano worked on Cutlery

Another editor that's popped up recently is Aoespring, who did the Villain and Fixer MVs. (on Fixer they're credited with (STUDIO KAIBA) which I'm assuming is a studio they belong to, not sure why it's only listed on one of their MVs though)

The only other editors to have done more than one MV are Ikumi (magic number, ray, Doctor=Funk Beat, Phony), Norainu (Glory Steady Go!, Cosmospice, Parasol Cider), Mizuki (Time Machine, Cinema, Chururira) and Guu (Warera Stain Busters!, CRaZY)

There are actually 10 MVs that don't credit an animator. These are Fragile (Bad Dogs cover), Hibana -Reloaded-, Happy Synthesizer (MMJ cover), Bocca della Verità, Sweet Magic (WxS cover), Roku-chou nen to Ichiya Monogatari, Chikyuu Saigo no Kokuhaku o, Positive☆Dance Time (WxS cover), Ren'ai Saiban, and Aishite Aishite Aishite. The last one does credit a text animator and compositor though so I guess one of them edited the rest of the video (the compositor probably would've done it)

All right, this is my best approximation of my Yoroiden Samurai Troopers collection, at least as far as I could find packed away in storage! It was so overwhelming trying to sort through this, oh my god.

DOUJINSHI: Mostly mix/gen anthologies, these are each ~220 pages, about the size of a paperback book, done by various artists.⇩

Mix/gen anthologies, primarily from Tachibana Kaimu/Laim Company, which tended to have a strong Seiji/Touma bent. Paperback size, each is ~100 pages.⇩

Seiji/Touma doujinshi, a lot of V-KIDS and Mizuki Ken, etc. Soft cover, but about paper size A4, like 8"x10", each ~50 pages long.⇩

Ryo/Shin doujinshi, size A4, ~50 pages each.⇩

A mix of pairings, a handful of Ryo/Touma, Seiji/Shin, etc., size A4, ~50 pages each.⇩

Three doujinshi artbooks (first two in the first row + Cotton Color, a Mizuki Ken artbook that has a lot of YST illustrations) + two more doujinshi (Seiji/Shin, then Ryo/Touma)⇩

NOVELIZATIONS + ARTBOOKS: Top row is five of the novelizations of the series (raw Japanese of course), slightly smaller than a manga volume in the US. Bottom row is two smaller pocket-sized artbooks.⇩

The Message series of artbooks, I never was able to track down #4, it eluded me and was one of the greatest frustrations of my YST fannish life. Duplicates of #2 and #5, as you can see, plus two more artbooks. (The second one, iirc is from the designer of the characters, so there's other stuff in there, but a lot of YST art as well.) ⇩

The Memorials books + the various other artbooks for the series. There's a duplicate of the first Memorials book, but the second one and the Memorials Deluxe were my favorite, they were EXTREMELY hard to get your hands on and I only had them because a friend was kind enough to send them. They're all hardcovers and of a hefty size, they're a little bigger than a hardcover book and probably twice as heavy. The other six (last one in the top row + bottom row) are all soft cover books.

In total, the weight of these are: doujinshi 42lb + artbooks 19lb. I'm willing to break up the collection between doujinshi and artbooks, but other than that, I need the collections to stay together because I feel like that's the only way I can part with them. I spent so long collecting these together that they're precious to me, I can't just throw them away, but I can give them away for the cost of postage, so long as all of it goes. Doing my best to calculate media mail (which I have no idea if it would actually come out to that much, because as heavy as these are, it seems like a low price), the doujinshi would be $40 and the artbooks would be $20. (I am skeptical because this stuff is HEAVY, but that's what the USPS site tells me.) Contiguous US only, unfortunately. Send me a message if you're interested and then I'll give you my e-mail, I just want the collection to go to a good home, because it's time for me to let go.

Definitely someone who loves being affectionate

Whenever Rui meets up with you again, he hugs you very tightly (and maybe even picks you up and spins you around if you're short enough)

If you're okay with it, I think he'd be very into PDA

Probably not the type to be too dramatic with it, though. Rui's the type to hold your hand and kiss your cheek occasionally, but he's a little shyer when it comes to hugs and kisses on the lips

In private, though? A whole different story

Very clingy. Rui could hold you for hours upon hours if he was able to

Generally Rui likes being the big spoon, as he adores holding you and making you feel safe

But sometimes he likes being held too, you know?

Please also cuddle him after he's pulled one too many all-nighters, it's one of the only ways to get him to actually rest

Sometimes, Rui gets overwhelmed with cuteness aggression and can't help but kiss you all over your face, stopping with one last long kiss on your lips! He can't help it, you're just too adorable!

Overall 10/10 very affectionate bf would recommend

Also someone who is generally super affectionate

Sometimes Mizuki gets worried about the future and you potentially leaving them, so they decide to kiss you and hug you lots right now, so they'll at least always have the memories

(Please also reassure Mizuki that you're not going to leave them any time soon, though. They appreciate it lots)

Mizuki just loves your concentrated expression! They also love kissing your cheek or neck occasionally so you'll make that cute startled expression, too!

Also someone who adores being the big spoon. It gives them better opportunity to tease you, after all!

Although, Mizuki loves being the little spoon, too. There's something really comforting to them about being held while their hair is gently played with

(Bonus points if they fall asleep in your arms. Mizuki also gets super cuddly when sleepy)

(Y/N) replied with a sorry expression on their face for interrupting Mizuki's sleep.

"Don't worry about it, I'm already getting energized thinking of how I'll be styling you. Anyways do you have all your beauty products ready? I also brought some of my things to make you extra cute 𝅘𝅥𝅮" Mizuki then held up a mini tote bag, showing various clothing's and accessories sticking out of it. (Y/N) immediately went to see the tote's bag contents in it and were surprised to find at least 10 different outfits which led (Y/N) turning their head to see Mizuki smirking at them.

Now (Y/N) was in front of a mirror while Mizuki was coming their hair. (Y/N) learnt a lot about makeup during the time you spent with Mizuki and was really glad Mizuki was available for the day. "Oh (Y/N)? I didn't manage to ask this since I was too excited to style you. However, why do you need this makeover for? I mean.. You already look so cute 𝅘𝅥𝅮" Mizuki questioned (Y/N) while they moved onto trying to braid (Y/N)'s hair.

"Hehe thanks for the compliment. As what I need it for.. I guess you could say I'm meeting up with my crush today." (Y/N) replied. "YOU HAVE A CRUSH?!" Mizuki accidentally blurted their thoughts out due to the shocking news, and realised they stopped moving their hands. "Ah, sorry about that accidental burst. I'm.. just surprised.." Mizuki apologised before going back to brushing (Y/N)'s hair. "Are you alright Mizuki? You sounded a bit.. I don't know, upset?" (Y/N) replied, feeling concerned of Mizuki's feelings due to their friends' sudden outburst.

"Me being depressed? Hah, never! I'm fine really!" Mizuki stated, however they felt their heartstrings tearing apart. '(Y/N)? Having a crush? Why can't I be happy for them but I'm not.. I know they deserve better.. But.. It would be nice to be selfish for once..' Mizuki thought to themselves, before Mizuki knew it, they finished styling (Y/N)'s hair.

"I looks so amazing and cute! Thank you so much Mizuki!" (Y/N) immediately inspected their hair through the mirror in their house. "N-no problem! I'm really glad that you like it" Mizuki replied. 'No.. I can't show them I'm sad. They do deserve better, I should just be happy I could be able to give them a makeover for the day. But at the same time.. Why does it hurt so much? ...'

"Oh would you look at the time! I-I just remembered I got work today! I'm so sorry (Y/N)!" Mizuki spoke.

"Eh? I thought you got nothing going on today?" (Y/N) responded to them. Although looking kind of sad for some reason. "Ah yep! I totally forgot about it since we all had new schedules. See you next time (Y/N)!" As Mizuki rushed out of the house, knowing themselves they don't have any work that day. Nontheless, all they wanted to do is cry when they reach their home.

"Oh.. They left quite fast.. Did I mess up..?" (Y/N) questioned themselves. "It's my fault. I probably should've been more direct that they were my crush.."

As Mizuki was about to leave the room.

"Wait Mizuki!" As (Y/N) rushed over to grabbed their hand. "Is there a way you could probably call to reschedule?" (Y/N) asked. "Don't you have a date to get to? Plus I already took up so much of your time today aha. Don't worry about me, I'm fine really!" Mizuki responded, mustering up all their courage to smile at (Y/N).

"..In that case we do have some time before you work right? From what I know you work fairly close around here." (Y/N) spoke, in hopes that Mizuki had a bit of time left. "Huh? Oh yeah, I guess I do have a little bit of time.." Mizuki responded "Great! In that case how about we go on that small date? Even if it is just a little." (Y/N) asked leaving a really puzzled Mizuki.

"Oh come on! Don't just give me the silent treatment. After all the work I put into preparing myself too" (Y/N) joked sarcastically. "..Eh?" 'Did I hear it right? Man I'm being so desperate my brain is playing mindtricks on me' "But that would mean.."

"Do I have to spell it out for you? Geez, you aren't that dense Mizuki. You are my crush" (Y/N) tried to look away to hide the subtle blush on their face due to admitting it and hoped Mizuki was actually confused instead of trying to tease them.

The moment Mizuki heard those words. They immediately felt warm and went back to their normal self. "Ha ha ha! Got ya to admit it, I knew acting could come in handy one day~ 𝅘𝅥𝅮" helding their head high, though it wasn't acting.

"Why yo-" Before (Y/N) could finish their sentence, Mizuki cut in "Well let's just spend the whole day giving each other a makeover 𝅘𝅥𝅮"

Ena would always include you whenever she is taking selfies as she wanted to show off your looks to her socials. However one day, you decided you wanted to try in her makeup as you found it really interesting. However, is that the only reason?

"Look at this (Y/N)! Our selfie got over 1000 likes!" As your friend, Shinonome Ena, placed her phone in front of your face. "We should take pictures with each other more often. We look super pretty and adorable together!" As Ena boasted while scrolling through the comments of the selfie post.

"I don't mind taking selfies with you, however in exchange for taking selfies with me, could you teach me how to put on makeup?" Ena immediately halted in her tracks after hearing what (Y/N)'s favour. "Huh?! You don't need makeup! You're already so pretty. Who said you weren't?!" Ena replied angrily. "No one, I just want to learn how since I've seen you put it on several times and I've got interested." (Y/N) tried to clarify, although Ena did not fully believe her. However, she accepted the request.

'Whoever told (Y/N) that they're ugly. I'll make them have regrets by making them the prettiest they could be! I'll show them!" As Ena worked really precisely on (Y/N)'s makeup and ensured every foundation, blush, beauty products is applied with most cautious and care on her beloved (Y/N)'s face.

Ena then continued on to do (Y/N)'s hair. Which she found was really soft and smooth and was easy to comb through. '(Y/N)'s hair is really pretty.. Wait why am I helping them again. Is this the right thing to do? If (Y/N) really did get insulted then aren't I making it worse to show that they need makeup?'

Ena, who was focus began to drift away in her own thoughts, debating if this was the 'right' way to help. After all she did learn that she should've helped Honami embrace her own style instead of changing it.

"Ena? Are you alright? You sort of paused a little." (Y/N) spoke up, looking worried for Ena, since she paused her work. "Ah.. I can't help but notice if this was the right thing to do. I know you said it was for interest but I really still think someone is insulting you. Could you please tell me the truth?"

"Alright alright, you caught me. The real reason is.." (Y/N) suddenly paused which cause Ena to be more anxious. "Oi! Don't leave me hanging, is there's actually a person insulting or harassing you.. I'll.. I'll scream at them up for you!" Ena jumped in, hoping that whatever she said would cause (Y/N) to open up. Though what Ena said had shocked (Y/N) a bit.

"You would? Thanks but actually my reason for this is simple." (Y/N) quickly spoke to ease Ena's worries.

"I actually just want your attention." (Y/N) put it bluntly. "..Eh..?" "You being on your phone 24/7 and leaving me attention-less! You know how sad that makes me?" (Y/N) scoffs sarcastically. After hearing this, Ena grew a little red. Feeling a little glad she is behind (Y/N) so they couldn't see her flushed face. She then sighed.

"I'm really glad you're okay then.. Also if you want wanted attention you could've asked me!" As Ena slowly became back to her normal self.

"Really? You would've probably argued saying you're not on the phone all the time, Tsundere." (Y/N) instantly regretted calling her a Tsundere as Ena stroked their hair roughly once because of that.

[Comfort Ending] - Optional to read

"..Was it that obvious?" (Y/N) asked. "So there IS someone out there insulting you?! Jeez, people these days." Ena scoffs. "Aha.. Sorry.." (Y/N) apologised as they knew they made their friend worried for them. "They're jerks, don't listen to them (Y/N). You're already so pretty, you shouldn't need to change for others." Ena retorts trying to cheer (Y/N) up a little bit. Though feeling quite a bit of regret doing (Y/N)'s makeup now as it would be changing her for others. "I'm going to stop doing your makeup now if that's fine. I don't think it's right for me to hide your beauty with it. Plus it'll also be proving those jerks right." Ena responded. "If there's someone bothering you please let me know next time." As Ena hugged you from behind.
