Shitting, crying, pissing myself
I'm never making a Khaenri'ahn oc EVER again
The whole splash art took me 4 hours AND I COULDN'T FIND A BASE OF THE BACKGROUND DAINSLEIF HAD ON HIS DRIP ... SO I HAD TO EDIT IT MYSELF??!?!?!? which took me another hour
Anyway I won't let anyone struggle like I did so if you have an Abyss/Khaenri'ahn oc, feel free to use the base I made below cut (credit isn't necessary but would be appreciated) (it's not perfect but hey, at least it's here)

Freedom or Anarchy? Part 1 of 2 (hopefully)
You guys wanted this you better read it cw: there’s some swears, and allusion to sleep drugs
The air was so crisp, the so grass vibrant, the sun was warm on your skin as you took in the scenery before you. The crystal blue of Starfell lake was gorgeous, and the fish were flipping about in the water; even the squirrels and Crains seemed at peace. Despite this lovely picture you were panicking.
“Heh, POV got sucked into your favorite video game and you don’t know if you’ll ever get home.” you shrug. “Guess I’ll die!” You walk over to a tree and pull on a branch. “I suppose that I should try to defend myself.”
As you say that three pyro slimes appear and chase you down the hill towards Venti’s Statue. “Hehehe, Why are you running? Why are you running?” You walk up to the statue and touch it, but nothing happens. “Wow! Honestly, I thought as a bard you would understand the mentality of “I F’ed my way into this mess, and I’ll F my way out”. Not gonna give me a vision, a shitty knock off of your power, a sword?” As you sat yelling at a lifeless statue (a/n: WTF WERE YOU THINKING? THAT IT WOULD TALK BACK?!) you heard something coming towards you. You looked to the sky and saw Dvalin flying straight toward you. “Oh shit…” You say as storm terror land next to you and rawrs in your face. “Haha, I’m in danger.” He brings his face towards you and you begin to shake  in fear. “Mr. Stark I don’t feel so good.” You whisper to yourself as tears of fear and regret stream down your face.
Dvalin inches closer and you close your eyes only to feel something cold and wet on your face. You open your eyes only to close them again as Dvalin licks you. “Ew! Slobber!” He whimpered. You hold your hand out to pet the poor baby. “Oh it’s okay. Just let me clean up first.” You wipe off your face and go back to Dvalin. You go to pet him and a beautiful light shines from your fingers and flows through his fur.
“Dvalin!” Someone called to him and he picked you with his tail and curled it around you so you’d be hidden and sage as he took to the sky.
“Wait! Wasn’t that Venti? Don’t you like him?” He took to the sky and bounced you around unintentionally.
Tumblr media
After about 20 minutes you were finally released and found yourself in stormterrors lair. “What have you brought back?” A distorted voice echoed as a cryo abyss mage entered.
“She is the special. She can heal me.” Dvalin responded. (A/n: do you guys remember that? Dvalin spoke)
“You fool! Only the abyss Order can save you!”
As the two fight you try to sneak away but you step on a twig and they look at you. Dvalin quickly pulls you by your hoodie back to his side. “I agreed to help you because the Archons abandoned me as they’ve abandoned you. I still will but it doesn’t seem like you all have found a way to cure me. I need to be at full strength to fight for you.”
“Dvalin? I thought you liked Venti.”
“Venti, is that what the barn calls himself now? I used to, I know that he cares for me but he didn’t ever try to help me. I have suffered for 500 years and he now shows his face. Khaenri’ah was destroyed simply because they chose to forsake the Archons. Why should we care for them?”
You looked down, not knowing what to say. “How am I supposed to help?” You finally said.
“You can heal me.”
“But if I do, you’ll hurt the innocent people of Mondstadt. Listen, the Tsarista is plotting a rebellion against Celestia. Celestia’s the real villain here.”
“Even so the Archons still chose to destroy Khaenri’ah.”
“Then take it up with them, please. Those people have nothing to do with it. I’ll help you in anyway I can but please for their sake don’t hurt them. If not for them then for me.”
“If it’s what the adored one desires then I shall deliver it unto you.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” You asked suspiciously.
“Funny. Now heal him if you REALLY can!” The abyss mage, snarked from the corner. You climbed on top of Dvalin and put your hands on his horn. White light erupted and Dvalin’s head fell to the ground as he’d passed out. You fell off and the abyss mage ran out of the room screaming about how the day of reckoning was upon them or something. You fell asleep nuzzled into Dvalin’s side and dreamt of lots of yummy food.
Tumblr media
When you woke up you found a pyro abyss mage, and hydro abyss mage cooking some kind of fowl meat. Over a makeshift campfire. The pyro abyss mage brings it over to your and the hydro abyss mage hands you the food and some water. “Is this clean?” You ask the two and they nod.  You take the food and water and start to eat. “Thanks.” You say after you’re finished.
“Dvalin. Do you want to head out somewhere?”
“Where would you like to go, Adored one?”
“Would you hate me if I said Dragonspine?”
“If that’s what you wish.” He picks you up and flies you over there.
Tumblr media
You direct him to a cave in the side of the mountain.
“Honey! I’m home!” You say as you saunter into the cave. “Albedo? I guess he’s not here.” You say as you turn to leave.
“Incredible. Stormterror sitting right outside of my Laboratory.” He only roars at the blonde.
“Sir Albedo?” You inquire as you step out of his lab. You pet Dvalin to put him at ease.
“Hello, may I help you?”
“Sorry I don’t mean to snoop in your lab, I was just wondering if you were here. I have a bit of a conundrum.”
“You wish to go home.”
“How did you-”
“How did I know?” He cuts you off. “I’ll explain in due time. Please step into my laboratory, I’ll get you some tea. Word of advice though, it can get kinda cold out here so you might want to send Stormterror away before he gets cold.”
Dvalin growled. “I’ll be fine. You can come get me later tonight okay?” He nodded and flew off. It was about noon so you figured that you had a while before the twins would steal the harp and try to take down Dvalin.
“How did you manage to tame him?” Albedo asked, as you sat on a stool near a campfire.
“I healed him somehow.”
“So Gold’s stories were true.”
“Rhinedottir knows about this?”
“Yes, she’s the one who told me. Someone would come down from Celestia and they’d tame the beasts of Teyvat as well as the members of the Abyss Order.” He hands you the Tea and you drink it.
“I still don’t understand how you knew I’m not from here.”
“I just told you Gold told me you’re from Celestia. Unless of course, you aren’t.”
“Dvalin referred to me as the Adored One. Do you know what that means?”
“Adored throughout Teyvat and the realm above. You are the honored one no?”
“I don’t… what…?” You started to get lightheaded. “Albedo?” You sloshed as you fell off your seat.
“I’m sorry Adored One, but I have to put Klee first. Now that you’ve heeled Stormterror you’re a threat to the people of Mondstadt. I’m going to hand you over to the knights for terrorism and endangering the public.”

i’m going feral over a stupid crack theory i had y’all need to hear me out
4.1 SPOILERS AHEAD
childe tartaglia ajax. love em or hate em, mr. worldwide is here to stay despite his,,, current predicament.
we all know how his hydro weapon sword spear things are essentially identical to the weapons found in enkanomiya (picture from ZeroFucc on r/childemains)
Tumblr media
because of this, i’ve come to believe that skirk (his mentor) has some relation to enkanomiya. i know she already has connections to the abyss (obviously) and there was that whole quest with enjou in enkanomiya so it’s not too far-fetched to say that abyssal beings can enter enkanomiya.
(4.1 spoilers below the cut)
and THEN 4.1 HAPPENED AND WENGOT CHILDE FINDING THE FUCKING WHALE AGAIN i never really paid attention to his whale theming tbh, i thought it was just design choice
and then we learn it’s a replica of something he saw in the abyss and then he sees the whale AGAIN after escaping the fortress of meropide. and i was like “man why’s this seem so familiar?”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(pictures from NoxxisGaming on yt and the genshin yt channel)
THATS WHY BECAUSE ITS A PARALLEL TO KOKOMI
kokomi, who has a direct connection to the vishaps, vassals of watatsumi, and enkanomiya as a whole. i know it’s not the same whale they’re seeing (childe’s has some kind of,,, protrusions?? while koko’s is normal)
and normally i’d brush it off but they’re the only two playable characters with a link to enkanomiya. and childe’s link to enkanomiya is through his weapons, and who taught him how to make and use those weapons while he was in the abyss?
Skirk.
which leads me to my crack theory:
Is Skirk a vassal of Watatsumi?
the vassals of watatsumi were orobashi’s familiars. raiden ei killed orobashi, and who directly opposed the archons? the abyss. it would make sense for a vassal of watatsumi to at least work alongside the abyss order, since the archons would be a common enemy.
the vassals of watatsumi also protected the people of enkanomiya. who’s to say skirk didn’t see a young boy, stranded all alone in the abyss with nothing, and those protective vassal instincts kicked in?
now if there was a direct link between say, skirk and kokomi, this would be more than a crack theory. but right now it’s just silly goofy. anyways. hoyo please give us skirk content i’m begging you
if you made it this far i’m sorry you’ve been subjected to my ramblings lmao
ad astra abyssosque! 💫

I am making this post because Fontaine Archon Quest made me go down the theory rabbit hole and I need other people to agree with me that I'm not crazy.
Of course this post will have SPOLERS about the Archon Quest and some minor one about world quests, but I'll try to stay vague about them so everyone can still read this.
First thing off, fontaine is super related to Abyss stuff:
So far we have:
Childe actually finally dropping the things from his character story, giving us some weird Abyss fact that doesn't seem to be important yet (but i bet will become later on);
the whole Primordial Sea thing. I don't know if you saw that, but during the Archon Quest (in Marcel's underwater hideout) if you use elemental sight on the water it's black, just straight up black.
Tumblr media
NOTHING has ever been black before, so that to me just screams ABYSS.
Also, it was flowing upwards, as in, in reverse, which reminds me of the reverse statue, the reverse city in the chasm, and all of that stuff. Then it would also make sense for it to "reverse" the life it created, dissolving people.
the world quests in Fontaine being very Abyss related, as well as the constant mention all over fontaine of the name Jakob Ingold, the one who allegedly first discovered the effects the water from Primordial Sea had on people (this is said during the Archon Quest).
So far, in every Archon Quest we've had the Fatui as main villains (except in Mondstadt, but then Signora kinda stole the spotlight, so we all forgot about the Abyss Mages), and the Abyss Order stuff has progressed independently with Dain, but I think they're trying to reintroduce the topic in the main quest this time.
One of my main theories is that the Tsaritsa is at least somewhat right in whatever her objective is (even if her Harbingers are deranged psychopaths), so when we'll eventually get to Snezhnaya it's gonna be some huge mess, but we're gonna get the key to piece together some facts that they've throwing at us since the beginning with no context, and find some common ground (Are she or Pierro still gonna be bosses we'll have to fight? Maybe. Will the common ground be fighting Celestia or maybe saving it from the Abyss that is, maybe, taking over? Also Maybe. I have some speculations, but no proof whatsoever. Just vibes)
The reason I think that the Tsaritsa is not our enemy and doesn't want the Gnosis to, I don't know, take over the world or some shit, is because then why are all the Archons so chill about giving their Gnosis away?
Many say that, well, Signora attacked Venti in Mondstadt, that means Venti didn't want to give his Gnosis to the Fatui, otherwise why would she have done that?
And maybe that's even true, but
why isn't Venti more worried about it, then?
after knowing Signora's backstory, she probably did it because of a personal grudge, ngl
Also, with every other archon it went very peacefully, especially with Zhongli. Zhongli who literally gave it away like it was nothing: if he truly cared about it he would have found another way to get his retirement, the Fatui weren't the only ones he could ask for help, but since he was already giving it away he probably thought he should get something out of it.
Ei too (and while she isn't technically one of the original Seven she has always been there as Makoto's twin, so she's still old enough to remember the Archon War), she literally didn't even have it on her and wasn't worried at all when Miko just straight up gave it away.
Even Nahida gave two of them away, the only thing that was holding her back was not the fact that she needed them, or what the Tsaritsa wanted with them, just the fact that one had just been used by Dottore to create a god to replace her, so she didn't exactly want to give him two of them.
So far all the gods we've met are: either old enough to know some stuff or the literal god of wisdom, who still knows some stuff thanks to Irminsul.
None of them seem too worried about the Tsaritsa's plan. (even mf Zhongli that literally signed and NDA is just chilling) (like, i know you know what the Tsaritsa is doing, and you're a really good guy who literally wants nothing more than his people to be safe, so if you're not stopping her i can't really think of her as a bad guy)
I made this long ass premise to say that when Lyney says that Arlecchino yes, wants the Gnosis, but also wants to save Fontaine, I-
like-
I think that could actually be true.
Or at least I don't think they're the ones behind all of the stuff that is going in in there (realistically speaking, we don't know if Arlecchino actually cares about Fontaine. I don't think she has plans about its downfall, but maybe she just doesn't give a fuck, whether they all drown or not), I think it either directly the Abyss Order, or just a consequences of abyssal energy on the land and water.
(also there's like, three Fatui tents in the entire map and from where they're placed it could actually be them just investigating what the fuck it's going on with the Abyss. I have 100% exploration, so i know i haven't missed any,,)
(from the official Interactive Map)
Tumblr media
The Abyss being responsible might explain a bunch of stuff, like Childe being judged by the Oratrice guilty even when he's not.
Let's put some stuff together: Childe says that, while in the Abyss, he awakened "something", and that he still carries traces of that "something" inside of him.
The Oratrice is a divine mechanism, as such it is powered by divine energy.
In Fontaine we are introduced to Pneuma and Ousia.
Tumblr media
Each of them is what could be called and "Archè", which (if memories of greek philosophy in high school don't betray me) means something like "original substance", something from which everything else originates (like Heraclitus thought it was fire, Thales thought it was water. I should go back to read it, i might find something there huh).
For Pneuma (the light one) this is easy to understand: after all we know that combined, the seven elements make the Light element, but that is just because the seven elements are actually the spectrum of the Light element broken down, and it is said that the Dragons lived in a realm made of Light. So Pneuma (which means something about life and stuff) is Light, and it is the original substance from which the seven elements derive.
One thing we know about Pneuma and Ousia is that they are opposites, they are both energy sources, and when interacting they annihilate each other, but also become more stable than when on their own.
Allegedly, this is probably also what Khaenri'ahn machines were powered on (because when the Ruin Serpent charges up he does that AoE attack where he shoot these yellow and purple blocks, which reminds me of Pneuma and Ousia; added to the fact that we know the Research Institute of Fontaine has been studying Dhari machines, this is probably some kind of confirmation).
Tumblr media
Ousia literally means something about substance and matter (so on one hand you've got the "divine mind generating life" on the other you've got the matter, which remind me of the whole Descartes's res cogitans and res extensa, but whatever, another thing to look up again i guess).
If we're working on the whole "opposite to Pneuma" thing (so opposite to Light and elemental energy), then all that comes to mind is the Abyss (also referred to as the Void Realm).
This would tie back to Khaenri'ah and the fact that everything that everything that the Abyss touches gets the Mussolini treatment (this is a joke that literally only italians understand, sorry. Basically: it gets hanged upside down. down with the fascism boys)(i need to stop, sorry, i'm just in a silly goofy mood).
So divine things come from the Pneuma archè, that of Light: the Dragons, after them is the Primordial One, Celestia (Paimon??? The Travelers??? you know, the whole battle pass cutscene is hella sus).
The Abyss is a completely different archè: it exists outside of Teyvat and therefore has different laws (time is different there, we know from Childe's backstory), has taken on many different forms (oozing filth in the chasm, forbidden knowledge, etc) because its purest one is incompatible with the other realms.
(Do the Celestial Nails, placed in areas of high abyssal energy, contain enough divine power to generate an annihilation reaction, leading to funky but stable ley line disorders? Ice from Dragonspine doesn't melt, but doesn't spread either. Same for Tsurumi Island, the Eternal Oasis, and the Chasm)
Logically, there can only be one "original substance from which everything is generated", and the Abyss's presence on Teyvat is unnatural (the Abyss is, after all, a completely different world, it was Nibelung who sought out its power and opened the connection), so conflict is inevitable and again with the greek philosophy (still Heraclitus i believe, but i could be wrong): it is the conflict between opposites that generates things (such as energy).
(The first human civilization in Teyvat, the one that saw the conflict between the Primordial One and the Second Who Came, is based on ancient Greece. DO WE THINK IT'S A COINCIDENCE???)
Abyssal and elemental energy being opposites also explains why elemental creatures are so vulnerable against abyssal energy, why gods defeated in the Archon War escaped to die in the "dark sea" outside of Teyvat, and the annihilation that leads to stabilization probably explains why some abyssal creatures can wield elemental energy (Abyssal creatures that we know where humans at first).
If the waters in Fontaine got contaminated when the Cataclysm happened (and previous Hydro Archon died), then oceanids, elemental creatures, would suffer quite a lot and escape from Fontaine and MAYBE even get a little bit corrupted as well.
After all, the oceanid lady in the bottle event was extremely chill and lovely, while Rhodeia is as pleasant as hugging a cactus: is it just different personality or something similar to what happened with Apep (when she became a lot more angry after absorbing Forbidden Knowledge)? Doesn't Rhodeia also mention something about the waters in Qingce once being polluted as well (you know, right where the Chi was sealed? The Chi we know has something to do with abyssal energy from Baizhu's story quest)?
Just throwing these out there, it's very cool to realize how connected the Genshin world really is.
Going back to the Oratrice, a divine mechanism, who, maybe, sensed the Abyss in Childe and either
had a funky reaction
somehow knew the influence of the Abyss on Primordial Sea water (which after the world quests I can imagine how it could have happened), saw Childe's abyss-iness (abyssussy??? abussy??? amogus???) and went "Ah! Gotcha bitch"
the Jakob Ingold thing (because Childe is basically a herald at this point, mf can switch forms like my boy Enjou did back in Enkanomiya, god I miss him).
What would the abyss order have to gain by flooding Fontaine? Yeah, play the world quests. My boy Elynas is taking a nap bro (he chill tho so it's fine)
AND THAT'S MY PREDICTIONS. I guess. I might make more?? eventually??

Kaeya's story would have a pretty big plothole if he's telling the truth (Or in other words why Kaeya is probably lying his ass off) An analysis.
Major spoilers for caribert and Kaeya's character story.
Addendum : This is mostly for fun and to explore Kaeya's character and interactions, I'm not God, I can be wrong about things.
Important things are marked in orange and specific commentary on some elements of text is marked in purple.
Also while I do believe Kaeya is lying in Caribert and is generally an unreliable narrator, if you believe otherwise and can still make sense of his story please tell me, I would like to know other points of view or things I might have missed.
It is first said in Kaeya's vision story, he fought with diluc the day his father died. The reason why is quite simple, he told Diluc he was an agent (or pawn, depending on the nuance of the translation) planted by Khaenri'ah to serve their interests (and by the wording of the text, he had an idea of what the "ancient plot" meant). He comes clean and then fights Diluc as "his true self".
There was a side to Kaeya that he kept hidden from the world: In truth, he was an agent of Khaenri'ah, placed in Mondstadt to serve their interests. His father had abandoned him in this strange and unknown land to fulfill this mission, and it was Master Crepus and the city of Mondstadt that had welcomed him with open arms when they found him.
If Khaenri'ah and Mondstadt went to war, which side should he support? To whom should he offer his assistance: his birth father, who had ruthlessly abandoned him? Or his adoptive father, who had loved him and raised him?-
Quite a dramatic thought, makes it sound as if his mission will inevitably end in a war between the both of them, partly backed by Mona's voiceline
As a brother, he should have shared in Diluc's grief, and yet as their father lay dying on the ground, he had hung back behind his brother, that ancient plot running through his mind.
The use of that ancient plot instead of the ancient plot, or an ancient plot. makes it sound as if there are multiple ancient plots he is aware about, perhaps not the actual intended meaning but it's a fun thought, like how many ancient plots is Khaenri'ah directly involved in??? (probably a lot)
Consumed by guilt, Kaeya knocked on Diluc's door. As the rain poured down, the shroud of secrecy was washed away and all lies were revealed. Kaeya had finally come clean.
This is all fine and makes sense, Diluc feels betrayed and out of anger and residual sadness from his father's death, and strikes against someone he considered a brother, this causes a big rift between them and is a focal point in their relationship. Let's see how this character story is contradicted by the Caribert story quest, probably on purpose.
In Caribert Kaeya claims his father sent him to mondstadt to perhaps find happiness.
Kaeya: My life had less and less to do with Khaenri'ah as I grew up, and so I started caring less as well.
Kaeya: I used to believe that I had inherited some sort of duty from my father..
Kaeya: But then I began to wonder... Maybe my father left me in the peaceful land of Mondstadt for no other reason than simply to give me a happier life...
Then he didn't ruthlessly abandon him or send him to mondstadt to fulfill Khaenri'ah's goals, which contradicts everything previously established.
Kaeya: A happy life sounds good to me, of course. Even if it means being cut off from... certain things.
He sounds unsure, it's unclear If he wants to be cut off or not from those certain things, but what is he talking about?, If he doesn't know about the Alberich's involvement in the abyss order then what is he being cut off of according to him?.
It is implied Kaeya is just sugar-coating things, partly out of denial, partly out of a need to not reveal all his cards to the traveller, so I'm not going too in-depth with this section individually, as I believe it to be a clear cut lie in story.
And then the conversation with Dainsleif happens, and things get even messier.
Dainsleif: Tell me... what do you know about the significance of that name, "Alberich"?
Kaeya: Ah, you've decided to join us? I was wondering how long you planned on listening in. I believe I've seen you before in Mondstadt... Dainsleif, if I'm not mistaken?
Nice deflection buddy, almost as if he knows that If Dainsleif continues with that line of thought then some uncomfortable things will be revealed
Dainsleif: So you remember me (was he in Mondstadt to stalk Kaeya?). Then we are already acquainted, Kaeya Alberich... descendant of the Abyss Order's founder.
This means two things, first while the abyss is older than Khaenri'ah, the abyss order is a direct product of it, the sinners that are all that's left of Khaenri'ah according to Kaeya?
Kaeya: ...
Traveller: The Abyss Order...?
Paimon: What!?
Dainsleif: I take it that you weren't aware of this until now, Kaeya, or you wouldn't have been so forthcoming with your surname.
This is the part that always fucks me up, it makes a point for Kaeya being unaware of the implications of his surname, but also if Kaeya is telling the truth about not knowing anything about his father's motivation or goals for leaving him in Mondstadt, then what is his character story talking about, what the hell did he tell Diluc.
Do the character stories have information the character in story doesn't?, who's narrating the stories then?, Are they impartial?, are those kaeya's thoughts about his father's motivation?, Because that also contradicts what he says in Caribert. Or did he think his father was just working for Khaenri'ah which in his mind was a completely different thing from the Abyss order???, Then why did he have suspicious information explicitly from the abyss order like the title of the leader?, Which no other character apart from Dainsleif has (who would obviously know that)
I generally just take this as Dainsleif taunting Kaeya and trying to make him fall into a trap, because it makes the most sense.
Kaeya: Oh, my... that's quite a lot of baggage for a surname, isn't it? Though I must say, it does confirm an old suspicion of mine. I suppose that was why my father left me in Mondstadt after all... (How does that confirm anything, How does it improve your understanding of the ancient plot your father sent you to fulfill, in text it is said he was aware of the mission and was an agent or pawn, you already knew why your father left you)
Dainsleif: I'm surprised that you take me at my word without the faintest hint of skepticism... (Aka why are you lying you obviously knew this)
Kaeya: Well, perhaps what you told me just happens to answer some questions I carry in my memories. And, in any case... I recognize your eyes...(nice change of topic)
Okay the nicest interpretation I can give is maybe he knew his father was part of the abyss order but not that he was the descendant of the creator of the abyss order, but then what is the ancient plot he was sent to complete and why him?
Kaeya: You're a pure-blood Khaenri'ahn, aren't you?
I'm not even going to get into the, is Kaeya a full blooded Khaenriahn? thing or not because frankly I lack the information of the traits of a full blooded Khaenriahn. And in the best case scenario it just gives extra information on his mission.
Dainsleif: Very clever. (Thanks Dainsleif for actually being concise, even if you are most definitely hiding shit as well) Forgive me for being direct, but I sincerely hope this new knowledge doesn't change anything. If you've already let go of your ties to the past... then keep it that way.
This is just a barely hidden threat, if it's a don't get involved threat or keeping up the charade and clearly stating you are against the abyss order threat, is left up to interpretation
Paimon: Kaeya... You're not involved with the Abyss Order in any way, are you...?
Kaeya: Hey, hold on now. This conversation has taken a rather sudden turn for the deadly serious... and I'm afraid that as someone from Mondstadt, I'm not accustomed to this sort of atmosphere...
Deflection again, and identifies himself as someone from Mondstadt which in this conversation is also a double way of saying, I'm not a threat.
Kaeya: So what if I know my ancestry? Do I strike you as the type who would be bound by that kind of thing?
He changes his position again, "well even If I knew I wouldn't do anything for the Abyss order", which is weird because even by the kindest of interpretations he is terribly conflicted (Mona's voiceline, His character story, the fact this conversation is taking place to begin with)
Kaeya: Relax. I'll be just as delighted to hunt down the Abyss Order tomorrow as I have always been.
And how delighted are you, really?, And does this really make no change to you, almost as if you already took this into account?.
Traveler option 1: I trust you, Kaeya.
Traveler option 2:I think... I guess.
The real problem with the Idea that Kaeya is fully genuine about having no connections to Khaenri'ah or knowing about the Abyss order is that apart of all his info from his character story being wrong or unexplainable apart from the excuse of, well he had absolutely 0 context about anything , which would be strange especially for a character as Kaeya known for always having the upper hand info-wise. But that his fight with Diluc would make no sense. What did he tell Diluc?, That he was from Khaenri'ah and his father left him in Mondstadt to try to maybe make sure his son has a happy life far from the stress of Khaenri'ah (Stress like a mission or an ancient plot)?, How would that be a betrayal of any type, and how would that revelation show a hidden part of his true self?. If Kaeya knows nothing about this, then the emotional core of his story is ruined, because he would have never been conflicted when Crepus died, He would have no reason to be loyal to Khaenri'ah or the abyss order apart from his father being from Khaenri'ah, a father which abandoned him ruthlessly (or maybe not, who knows), The sinner's are all that's left of Khaenri'ah voiceline would just be meanspirited for no reason (because if those sinners were working for the abyss order, then it would make sense that he were critical of them), and His fight with Diluc would make no sense.
So in accordance to this, I believe Kaeya is lying about not being aware of the implications of his surname and the reason he was sent to mondstadt.
Thanks for reading if you have made it this far, and correct me if I'm wrong about something.

"astrea is arrogant and quite mean on the outside, but he's more complicated than that, his heart stays warm and soft for certain things in life. I appreciate his wit... but he's too obvious to certain things sometimes, but that's alright." — Kaeya about Astrea
the mage, lives deeply in the whispering woods, away from prying eyes in his small cottage.
under the mask of arrogance, there is a lonely immortal, who has been cursed by immortality as some individuals as well. feeling hopeless, as he can't remember faces of his loved ones from the past, he's trying his best to remember once again.
He had some... History with the abyss prince/princess as well with the abyss order, that's why he and the abyss order are on rather bad terms.

thats it for not cuz my brain is melting BSBSHHS

About the Machines of Khaenri'ah and how they Replicated Living Beings of the Outside World (TL;DR)
To date, I still wonder how Khaenri'ah managed to replicate the physical form and mobility of living beings from Teyvat.
Tumblr media
As we know Khaenri'ah didn't have flora nor fauna; so from where they obtained knowledge about other beings outside their nation?
I think there are three hypotheses to this question; I'll go from the one that makes less sense, to the one that makes more sense.
(1) Khaenri'ah had access to Irminsul/ley lines that let them obtain knowledge through it.
We know that Khaenri'ah had no deity (nor they wanted to have one as far as we know), and to date, the only beings we know that have the ability to access Irminsul, are Nahida, and Wanderer.
It seems that the Hexenzirkel was able to make expeditions to Irminsul, probably meaning that they also had access to it.
But there's one exception...the Bough Keeper.
Tumblr media
A human with the title of Bough Keeper, a Khaenri'ahn citizen that has retained self-awareness since the destruction of his nation 500 years ago. Technically, he should have lost his self-awareness to date, right? Yet he didn't, and we might have some idea of why this could be.
When Dainsleif met Halfdan in The Chasm, he didn't understand how his fellow comrade still didn't lose his self-awareness without "it"...
Could that "it" be this?
Tumblr media
One of the items obtained by defeating Abyss Mages, it's basically a fragment of ley lines. If Dainsleif is in possession of one of these, then maybe the people of Khaenri'ah were also able to use these to learn about the outside world without the necessity of a deity.
Leaving this hypothesis behind, let's start with the next one.
(2) Flora & fauna did exist in Khaenri'ah but became extinct by them
This hypothesis follows something of the actual world we live in.
Some animals have become extinct because of our careless and accelerated expansion; and maybe this also happened to Khaenri'ah, as they were considered a proud & arrogant nation by some.
When their flora & fauna became extinct, they started to use the Art of Khemia to replicate what they used to have, and because they used to have it, they already knew what their flora & fauna used to look like.
Maybe they had art descriptions of them or perhaps they even had actual recordings thanks to their advanced technology. To be honest, I think that this hypothesis is not likely to be true, for these reasons: there are some beings that are very unlikely that used to be in Khaenri'ah.
Tumblr media
One example is the Setekh Wenut & the Ruin Serpent which look very alike to it. The Setekh Wenut seems to be from a long time ago because the description of its drop item shows that the Setekh Wenut existed long before time even existed.
Tumblr media
This is the drop item: Pseudo-Stamens.
Tumblr media
Hypostasis also are also kinda likely to not have been in Khaenri'ah as far as we know, yet these people still managed to replicate a machine like them: the Perpetual Mechanical Array.
Tumblr media
Going to the next & last hypothesis...
(3) Khaenri'ah sent people to Teyvat to learn more about the living beings there.
In the book Sun & Moon we were taught that while Khaenri'ah still existed, they sent people to Enkanomiya to get the book.
Tumblr media
It seems that when these people of Khaenri'ah were sent to Enkanomiya, they also bring all kinds of ruin machines with them This could mean that Khaenri'ah had the resources and capacity to travel to other parts of Teyvat.
Maybe non of these hypotheses are accurate, but I really hope they are near to the truth we still yet need to know.
