Super super fun that I found a reference to one of my dad's favorite YouTubers in Gotham Knights by the way
Wish I was playing right now
#the void screams#gotham knights#i saw that tim had an email from skeletons cease fire or whatever the spoof name was and i was just like...#...this isn't a coincidence right? it's not. one of the developers has the same taste in youtubers as my dad<3#that was soooo fun to see#ALSO CLANCEY#man i loove seeing all the little references and details in the game<3 characters who we don't see too often their various subscriptions#and the gnn email that had a direct reference to the beginning of nightwing vol 2#there's just. so much!#and it's a universe where there's an obvious passage of time!! jim is dead. leslie is retired. lucius has his own company now.#just. there's so so much and the developers obviously love the game soo much and that makes it even more amazing#and like. of course there are elements that i don't like or are strange.#key being the map but i always hate the maps of gotham because no one wants to use the map we've had since the 90s but that's#a topic for a different time#but. yeah! all of what i've seen in game so far has so clearly been the product of people who love and cherish the characters#and the universe and everything added into the game is clearly with a loving view and i am so so happy about that#and it's so interesting to be able to tell what media they've taken inspiration from as well.#like there are clearly people on the team who really love b:tas and the surrounding universe#specifically with foxtecha and whatever is going on between nw and hq here.#and like. even the handful of jokes there have been re: nw's ass have been done in such a way that it's more#eye roll funny jab than annoying and awful which is uncommon! usually i am waaay more uncomfortable about them but this was handled well#anyway

Ok so people have been asking the (most recent) FS AU simmering in the metaphorical kitchen, so buckle up y'all:
Tumblr media
The Knights' Lodge is a small quaint hotel in Castletown, a small seaside town on a small isle at the outskirts of Hyrule. It's owned by the elusive elderly Sir Clancey, a country gentleman who these days rarely leaves his property.
For the most part, the Lodge is ran by Mr Arn Irvine, the General Manager, and his son, Link Irvine. Due to the many Links employed at this Lodge, Link Irvine is mostly known as Irvine Jr. He has grown up as an only child, with no mother, and due to his father's working hours, the Lodge feels more like home than their actual home.
Irvine Jr.'s closest friend is Link Douglas, nicknamed Les. Les is a few years older than Irvine Jr., has studied cooking, and is the feared Head Chef of the Lodge. Outside of rush hours, Les is fairly amicable. He currently lives in a small flat over the local bakery, and tends to bring in left-overs for the managers and receptionists.
The receptionists are Link Corcoran and Link Dunn (nicknamed Cor and Dunn, respectively). Cor mostly manages the Lodge's online presence, while Dunn welcomes guests, keeps track of day-to-day finances, and handles enquiries. Cor and Dunn have been living together since Dunn's mother died some months ago, and nobody is entirely sure if they are dating or not. They doubt they would get a straight answer, even if they asked.
Into this arrives Link Clancey, Sir Clancey's oldest grandchild. Link Clancey is a city-child, has recently finished a degree in arts, and isn't entirely sure what to do with his life. To get away from his mother and step-sisters for a bit, he goes to stay with Sir Clancey for a few weeks during Christmas, and gets a job as a receptionist at the Lodge. A slow romance blossoms between Clancey and Les, though Les refuses to admit it and Clancey is somewhat oblivious.
Because Clancey has greater things to worry about.
In addition to being a recent graduate and receptionist at the Knights’ Lodge, Clancey is also one of the five Heroes of Hyrule, commonly known as Red. Together with Blue, Green, Vio, and Shadow, Red protects Hyrule against threats from the Dark World, but he can only do so with the help of his Moon Pearl. Through a powerful enchantment, his Moon Pearl makes him unrecognisable to even his closest friends and gives him the power of fire. Sometimes Red wonders who his fellow Heroes are, but revealing their identities to each other could place their individual friends and families in danger if one of them is compromised.
So Red tells himself that he is perfectly happy risking his life for Hyrule, alongside people he only knows the basics about: Green is quick and witty, and has the power of wind; Vio is sharp and intelligent, and has the power of earth; Shadow is clever and tricksy, and has the power of time; Blue is short-tempered and protective and brave and prefers summer showers over winter ice and —
Alright, so maybe Red has a crush on Blue. A big heart-wrenching crush that refuses to go anywhere. But he can't do anything about that, because he can't know anything about Blue — not even his real name.
So Red doesn't think about it. He works at the Lodge, befriending Les, Irvine Jr., Cor, and Dunn, and when he's needed, he slips away and becomes Red, a Hero of Hyrule.

I'm curious, would your headcanons about post-Dulvey Clancey change if he was Molded in the same way Ethan was? According to a thread from a notable leaker, Clancy was intended to end up being infected and able to survive—and even be the final boss in Not A Hero. I guess he ended up dodging a bullet there, but how would he live with that?
Well, if he was the final boss in Not a Hero he'd be dead pff. (Though I'm glad they changed it to Lucas because Clancy doesn't really deserve that fate. Lucas on the other hand.... I have opinions on pff)
I'm assuming you mean Clancy was meant to "join the family", not... become mold like Ethan.
I think, were that the case and he still survived, he would be incredibly hard on himself. Similar to how I think Mia feels, he would carry this overwhelming guilt with him. Knowing that he hurt people--killed people--even if he wasn't really in his right mind would put a huge strain on his mental health. It wasn't his fault, Ethan, Zoe, and Mia would all tell him it was never his fault. He had no way of knowing what would happen when he walked into that house.
But it doesn't bring much comfort. It doesn't wash the blood from his hands. It doesn't change what he did.
And the guilt he feels over Pete and Andre on top of it all. Like I think that's something he has to deal with regardless, but it just adds so much more hurt. Even if he wasn't the one that killed them, he should have said something. He should have suggested another haunted place to film. They never should have gone into that house and he could have stopped it if he just said something.
Overall, he's probably not as... bubbly as I think he would be normally. He does find comfort with Ethan, and he most likely still ends up going to therapy for it all, but the things he did at Dulvey will always haunt him.
I also think he would blame Mia a lot more. Like.... Full on "This is your fault my life is ruined because of YOU", because he would know Mia had more involvement with Eveline than in a world where he was just captured and surviving like Zoe. And as a result he's more cold towards her, which is fair. Though it's also funny because Mia is kind of the only one left who really understands the whole "being trapped in your body with no control" thing.
Him and Ethan are still generally domestic and soft. Clancy just has way more emotional baggage and he's not as camera happy.

Ben 10: Playlist swap season 1
Inspired by @lunar-comic art, what if the oringal ben had the UAF playlist
The Playlist
Swampfire- Replaces Heatblast and Wildvine
Spidermonkey- Replaces Wildmutt
Chromastone- Replaces Diamondhead
Jetray- Replaces XLR8 and Ripjaws
Brainstorm- Replaces Upgrade- Could also give Upgrades role to Jury Rig -and Grey Matter
Rath-  Replaces Four Arms
Big Chill- Replaces Ghostfreak and Stinkfly
Toe Pick (on accident)- Replaces Ghostfreak for Last Laugh
And then there were ten
Ben transforms into Swampfire, but doesn't set the forest on fire
He leaves the campsite as Spidermonkey
He fights Vilgax’s robot with Chromastone
He wedgies J.T and Cash as Jetray
Washington B.C
Uses Swampfire to save the mother and child from the burning building
Uses Brainstorm to figure out which Cereal box has the golden sumo slammer card and is able to avoid being caught without Gwen’s help
Uses Rath against the Mammoth
Saves Gwen and stops Animo with Big Chill
The Kraken
Uses Rath or another alien to scare gwen
Gets another alien instead Jetray
Uses Big Chill to save Captain Shaw
Uses Jetray to help the Kraken also gets caught by Captain Shaw somehow
Permanent Retirement
Uses Brainstorm to stop the atm theives
Uses Big Chill to escape Vera’s home, steal a golf cart, see the “ninja old people” and spy on marty
Uses Spidermonkey to move the trashcan and fight off the “old people”
Uses Swampfire to fight the Limax and I think would do better
Uses Jetray to get the old people back to their condos
Hunted
Uses Chromastone or another ranged alien in his “training?”
Uses Big Chill against Krabb
Uses Chromastone to deal with the bounty hunters but is still saved by Tetrax
Uses Brainstorm to deal with the other bounty hunters
Last Laugh
Uses Jetray to stop the thieves (to much greater effect)
Uses Spidermonkey to deal with the circus freak trio, but is scared by Zombozo
Uses Brainstorm to deal with the Circus freak trio
Ben accidentally unlocks Toe Pick and scares Zombozo
Kevin 11
Use Big Chill to sneak into the Sumo Slammer Kiosk
Uses one of his aliens to deal with the teens messing with Kevin
Uses Jetray to escape the SWAT
Was going to turn into Rath, but turned into Swampfire instead and Kevin absorbed some of Swampfire’s power
Uses Rath to fight Kevin, kevin absorbs Rath’ power and I’d feel like this would start a screaming match between the two
Tourist Trap
Uses Brainstorms against the kid making faces
Use Rath for the giant rubber band ball
To those reading this far you already know I’ve been using Brainstorm as a substitute for Upgrade (Alternatively Jury Rig) and Grey matter but I don’t know how effective he’d be against the Megawhatts
Uses Swampfire against the Megawhatt mech- swampfire doesn’t learn how to fly- sealing the dam and sealing the megawhatts in the glass
The Alliance
Uses Rath against Rojo’s gang, but I’m unsure if he’d defeat them. Rath changes Ben’s personality but does he change Ben’s beliefs
Meant to use Rath but uses Swampfire to deal with the falling rocks and Rojo
Uses Jetray against Rojo, and I don’t know how effective he is
Uses Brainstorm to finally defeat Rojo, but doesn’t meet Vilgax
Lucky Girl
Uses Jetray to save everyone and deal with Hex
Uses Spidermonkey to help with the falling construction worker
Uses Rath to fight the gargoyles and I don’t know if he’d use that stone sword
A small problems- N/A unless someone figures out how to do this with goop
Side effects
Jetray stops the robber
Spider monkey is a little bit congested so he’s unable to use his webs (don’t ask the logic)
He uses Rath in Clancey’s apartment
He uses Big Chill- mostly because I don’t know the logistics of how Swampfire an alien that sounds like he's congested would get sick - against Clancey and the reactor
Secrets
Uses Chromastone against the bank thieves
Uses Jetray to get to the city and deal with the Vilgax's robots
Uses Spidermonkey or Big Chill to deal with the robots that were chasing the Rust Busket
Get’s brief “master control” so whoever is reading decides the aliens order for this moment

Welcome to WEST-13: Session 0
A new MOTW campaign, set in a small and isolated mining community on Syn, a planet in the Dis-37 system in the far away WEST-13 galaxy, where the VHS (Vivid Holographic System) technology became obsolete long before the inhabitants of Syn could send the first shipment of prismatic glass which was their mission purpose.
Now the people of Syn live a simple life in which everyone knows everyone else. They fish, they farm, and on the weekends they explore the system and/or go to church, either by sitting in on Cinema Reformist VHS showings or taking a rocketship up to attend the Avant-Catholic Satellite Mass.
Join us for session 0, in which we get the gang together, receive some unexpected letters, go on a non-hostile hike and become the VOAT (victims of all time?). Let's just ignore what that little goth kid said about "survival rate of 1."
Featuring:
DISCOVERY SOLIS (they/he/any): The Flake
FLEETWOOD NOX (they/them): The Jury-Rigger
KUROSAWA CLAXON (they/them): The Professional (that's me!)
BLUES-JAZZ DANGO (he/they): The Spooky
SISTER MARY BLESS BOWIE (she/her): The Expert
And a variety of delightful NPCs played by our dear Keeper @saequis, who also drew some of the PCs so far!!
Tumblr media
[ID: pencil sketches of the characters. On the left Kurosawa looks down at a document. They're wearing a bomber jacket and a spiked choker, with their hair in messy space buns. On the right are busts of Sister Mary, a dark skinned old woman in a habit with an eyepatch, looking serious, and Fleetwood, who looks up inquisitively. They have light skin and a lean build and are wearing a vest and gloves, and their long hair is shaved on one side, with headphones over it. In the middle are full body sketches of Sister Mary, standing in her habit and holding a huge laser gun. Next to her Fleetwood squats, elbows on their knees, holding a massive wrench. End ID.]
Phew! This is a long one! A lot of setting up to get through. Please enjoy at your leisure.
DISCOVERY SOLIS (they/he/any): The Flake.
On Monday we meet Disco, a grandparent in their 60s with dark skin and long, braided grey hair, usually under a yellow sunhat or a headscarf while they work in the garden. Today they're taking care of their gaggle of grandkids and two dogs, Bao and Pierogi, when the phone rings. His wife Hartley is on the other end and says that he has a letter from the House of Accords:
Congratulations on your successful application to the Venture Office. You have been selected from a pool of literally dozens of similarly unknowing individuals to be a part of the new Venture Office Away Team. Bang! Please report to Rashomon Noa at the VO on Saturday next at wanetide for your mandatory induction. In the event that this telegram reaches you after Saturday next, please report to the VO last Saturday. Yours by mandate, Rashomon Noa, Venture Office Administrator
Disco is somewhat suprised as they never applied for this new position. But later in the week, at the Yesterwhile Museum where they work as an archivist, their colleague Gravity Song admits that she signed him up, since it's such an important job, but one she can't do herself as she's "frail as fuck." Disco, although upset that Gravity didn't ask, agrees to go along so long as Gravity takes on more responsibilities around the museum, particularly the training of Aldrin Rasputin, the new apprentice.
FLEETWOOD NOX (they/them): The Jury-Rigger
On Tuesday we meet Fleetwood Nox at their work at the rocketyard. They have long neon-green hair that's shaved on one side, and wear a white vest top, blue cargo pants, fingerless gloves - and headphones. All the time. After an uneventful day (except for their colleague, Rover, sticking a rivet through his hand), they head home to find the postwoman, Clancey Feng, sitting on their step with 63 "i-fucking-dentical" messages, which all came in yesterday. When they open them, they find each one the same: a successful application to the Venture Office. Except they didn't apply either. They fling the letters down on their workbench.
Later we learn that it was Fin Leppek, their supervisor, who applied on their behalf, among other colleagues, since Fleetwood has a reputation for the things around them exploding. It's never their fault, apparently, but it does make them a little bit of a liability when you're working in a rocketyard.
KUROSAWA CLAXON (they/them): The Professional
On Wednesday, Kurosawa Claxon walks home from their work as a location scout for the Syn Dramatic Society. They have long black hair in twin ponytails, and wear all black t-shirts, cargo pants and gun and knife holsters (it's a dangerous business) - but their bomber jacket and heart shaped sunglasses are pink. Their dads are playing ping-pong with the neighbours and their little sibling Cuaron is playing Pong in their room. Kurosawa convinces them to come out for lemonade and they point out the letter for Kurosawa: an invitation to the VO away team on Saturday night. Funny, because Kurosawa's been applying for a lot of stuff, all in the Dramatic Society, but not this. They assume it's another bid from their dads to get their life together, and decide to go along since maybe they'll spot some good spots for shooting on the way.
The next day, they meet their boss, the location manager Bruce Man, outside the foley studio where they're recording for a cyborg vampire romance. Bruce gives them a script for Snake Apocalypse 2 [a bare-faced reference to our old D&D campaign], tells them they can't read it but need to find 40 locations by next Tuesday. Kurosawa tries to play off the concern by saying they could use the weekend gig with the VO to find locations. Bruce reveals that he signed them up, because the VO have a spaceship - one that they can use for the benefit of the Dramatic Society.
BLUES-JAZZ DANGO (he/they): The Spooky
On Thursday evening, Blues-Jazz sits in their house in the middle of nowhere, making his daily broadcast which, today, is about gardening. They have hunched shoulders, shadowed eyes, bitten nails, long and tangled hair, and they wear cloaks and loose, patched clothes. After he finishes recording, he hears a yelp outside and gets a terrible premonition: something awful is going to happen. They hide under the bed.
There's a knock at the door and eventually Blues-Jazz opens the half a dozen locks to Clancey, the postwoman, who checks their identity before handing them a telegram just like the others. Clancey asks what he's doing all the way out here and tells them their family was asking after them. Blues-Jazz shuts the door.
Later, while he walks around the house and garden watering plants, he hears a voice. Jeeves, a man with a bushy mustache, appears sitting in the windowsill, at a kitchen chair, lying on the ceiling, and asks if he's going. Blues-Jazz says no, it's dangerous, they got a premonition and they don't know who signed them up for this, and throws the letter into the fire.
SISTER MARY BLESS BOWIE (she/her): The Expert
On Saturday morning, Sister Mary wakes up to the call to prayer of the Avant-Catholic church. She claims to be 42 but looks extremely elderly, and dresses in a full velvet black habit and a sequinned eyepatch. She's well renowned in the community for her actions during the UFO incident 30 years ago. She and her unwitting host, Ghibli Keller, eat breakfast before heading up to the satellite church.
The service is held in part of an old spaceship which orbits the planet of Syn, with fortified-stained-glass windows and a wall of amps for the band and choir. After the ceremony the Other Superior (Janet) approaches to exchange passive-aggressive insults and give Sister Mary a lettter, like the ones the others received, and one Sister Mary herself has gotten more than once over the years. Janet has signed her up to let her see more of the world and do more good in the community.
On Saturday at wanetide, Disco, Fleetwood, Kurosawa and SMBB meet at the Venture Office - all of them are late. When Disco raises his hand to knock, several miles away, Blues-Jazz gets a horrible feeling, another premonition of something awful [aka Bats got a snake-eyes on the first roll of the campaign].
Rashomon Noa, a tall lanky guy with a ginger combover, invites the four of them into a room full of precarious metal cabinets creakingly full of paperwork. This is where people file forms when they explore on the weekend, so that they can be rescued if necessary. This search-and-rescue is our new side gig, since we're the "most competent, most available people on the planet!" according to our colleagues. Rashomon says we have access to the Moondog, a small spaceship, strictly for emergencies only but open to modifications, with a look at Fleetwood. Kurosawa implores them not to blow up the ship, to which Fleetwood says "People don't really die on these things, none of us are going to die."
[I, X, want it on record that they said that in session 0 when it all inevitably goes south.]
Rashomon also mentions that a letter was sent to Blues-Jazz Dango, who none of the rest of the party know - unusal in a town of this size. They head out to track them down and get them onboard too, the more the merrier.
Speaking of Blues-Jazz, he's panicking about this intuitive bad feeling and calls home. Their mum picks up and reveals that she sent the application: "It needed someone who's willing to be a good person, who's thoughtful and considerate." They reply, "I don't want to hurt anyone again... this might lead to more of that." His mum says, "Bluejay, you never meant to hurt anyone." [half of the players are crying at this point.] Blues-Jazz hangs up, but not before agreeing when his mum asks if she can call again.
Meanwhile, the rest of the new VO Away Team take the tram out and trek through the forest to find Blues-Jazz's house/radio station, out in the boondocks where Fleetwood often scavenges and experiments.
When the team calls out, Beejee panics, looking for an escape route. Jeeves says he'd help, but he's "about as useful as a figment of your imagination." Beejee insists they aren't interested, but eventually the team talks them around, with the idea that they can at least make some fun mistakes in this line of work.
As Beejee steps out of the house, a young person with a red mohawk mullet, goth clothes, huge clompy-stompies and a bajillion piercings jumps from the roof: Oddity Ng, the field journalist of Black Body Radio, the pirate radio station, asks for an interview: "how do you feel about starting a job which has a survival rate of one person, ever?"
The Venture Office Away Team are finally united in trying to discredit this dipshit.
That's all for this time! Bonus dogs as a thank you for reading this far:

Herbert Mundin, Diana Wynyard, Clive Brook, and Una O'Connor in Cavalcade (Frank Lloyd, 1933)
Cast: Diana Wynyard, Clive Brook, Una O'Connor, Herbert Mundin, Beryl Mercer, Irene Browne, Tempe Pigott, Merle Tottenham, Frank Lawton, Ursula Jeans. Screenplay: Reginald Berkeley, based on a play by Noël Coward. Cinematography: John F. Seitz. Art direction: William S. Darling. Film editing: Margaret Clancey.
There are lots of forgettable best picture Oscar winners: Who today watches The Great Ziegfeld (Robert Z. Leonard, 1936), The Life of Emile Zola (William Dieterle, 1937), or Gentleman's Agreement (Elia Kazan, 1947)? But Cavalcade may be the most forgettable (and forgotten) of them all. Based on a play by Noël Coward adapted by Reginald Berkeley and Sonya Levien, it's the saga of 33 years in the lives of a wealthy London couple, Robert (Clive Brook) and Jane Marryot (Diana Wynyard). Its portrait of their lives and the lives of their servants may have inspired the popular British TV series Upstairs Downstairs, and through it the even more popular Downton Abbey, both of which cover pretty much the same time period. In Cavalcade, as in the two TV series, the families suffer losses from the sinking of the Titanic and from World War I, and experience the social upheaval of a changing class system. But Cavalcade tries to cram it all into less than two hours, and tends to be more blatantly nostalgic about the passing scene. Unlike the creators of the later TV series, Coward and his adapters didn't have the benefit in 1933 of seeing what effect the events of the first third of the twentieth century would have on Britain and the world. It settles for a bit of prophecy in the form of a montage in which various talking heads rant about disarmament, communism, atheism, Christianity, and other ideologies, including a rather corny scene in a louche night club where same-sex couples seem to be on the verge of making out. (The film is pre-Code, so the strictures against depicting homosexuality haven't kicked in yet, though it's clear that the film -- despite Coward's own sexual orientation -- disapproves of it.) In addition to the best picture Oscar, Cavalcade also won a second Oscar for its director, Frank Lloyd, who had been the first director to be so honored, for The Divine Lady (1929). Wynyard also received a nomination for best actress, losing to a newcomer, Katharine Hepburn in Morning Glory (Lowell Sherman, 1933). Wynyard had a more successful career on stage than in movies. In Cavalcade she tries to register emotion by staring meditatively into the middle distance, often seeming like she has spotted something troubling on the wallpaper. The rest of the cast includes Herbert Mundin and Una O'Connor as the Marryots' servants, and Frank Lawton as Joe Marryot, the younger son, all three of whom would be reunited in a much better movie, David Copperfield (George Cukor, 1935). For the record, some of the films that Cavalcade beat for best picture include 42nd Street (Lloyd Bacon), I Am a Fugitive From a Chain Gang (Mervyn LeRoy), and Little Women (Cukor), all of which are more highly watchable today.

Thoughts from my Classic Who watch, the second half of season 6.
Tumblr media
Like the previous Ice Warriors story, The Seeds of Death has some neat sci-fi ideas behind it! (And some iffy ideas juuust visible, but in this case it’s nothing that impacts the plot). The premise of space-travel being obsolete is a fun one (and it’s kinda similar to how I think of Gallifrey, except they treat teleportation that way. Sure they can do it, but it’s so gauche). The way the moonbase segments of the first episode are filmed so as not to reveal the villains works really well. It was nice to have a boss character who was a bit more friendly and even likable- at least, until his boss turned up. And also, look, I really enjoy ‘60s Who for a lot of the way it does things differently to modern television, but I breathe a sigh of relief when I’m given a female character who’s actually presented as competent. So Gia Kelly was a nice character for that. All in all the Ice Warrior stories haven’t really grabbed me like other episodes have, but I think this one was an improvement on the last.
The Space Pirates might be the Doctor Who story that I knew the least about going into this watch-through. And I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. One of the few things I knew about it was that one of the characters (Milo Clancey) had an outrageous accent- so I was afraid I was going to watch something horribly racist, but instead it was just horribly American, which I can deal with. It really felt like more grounded sci-fi than most Doctor Who stories (though I’m certain there are bits that wouldn’t hod up to much scrutiny), and it was a nice change of pace. The space western plot was fun to follow along with, and a lot of it felt pretty realistic. Space bandits hyjacking beacons and the government trying to stop them with limited resources, looking to pin the blame on those who fall through the cracks. At some parts, the Tardis team seem almost irrelevant to the plot, but I didn’t really mind. Like I said, it was a nice change of pace.
Tumblr media
Oh but when the gang discover Milo’s old partner is alive and hiding under the table, the recon I watched had a nightmare-inducing image of the raggedy man staring out from under the tablecloth. Imagine seeing that in a room you’ve been hanging out in for several minutes. Jesus.
The War Games slaps. The War Games rocks. Hey, The War Games is great. This might be partly nostalgia talking because it was one of the first Doctor Who DVDs I owned, but no I do actually think it’s the second Doctor’s best story. It’s 10 episodes long and it feels like it earns it! The concepts behind it are fantastic, the action keeps you in suspense, the Tardis crew gets lots to do, and the villains are enormous fun. And just when any other Two story would be slowing down to a (sometimes awkward) close, you get up to the Time Lords! The War Games is one of the biggest lore reveals of the show ever, certainly in its first decade, and it’s so great! The way Time Lords are shown with truly god-like power is different to the more down-to-earth, behind-the-curtain-disasters of how they’re presented in almost any other story. And I do love humanising (so to speak) the Time Lords, but seeing their influence on another planet by heralded the sounds of hellish gale-force winds, and them reducing the major villain to screams only with their thoughts is. Extremely cool. But the rest of the story is great, as are its characters. The Doctor and Jamie and Zoe are always some of the best parts of the stories they’re in, but they feel more incredible here. Maybe it’s the knowledge that it’s their last story, but I do love watching them do what they’re good at. Two marching into a military prison and having Jamie released purely with bluster is just so quintessentially him. Lady Jennifer and Carstairs aren’t especially deep, but they’re incredibly likable. And I’d never before really liked the idea that the War Chief is the Master, but watching the story again this time made me think that actually it would make a lot of sense. It does always make me laugh that the War Chief has the special necklace and the coolest look and absolutely wicked side-burns, and then the Actually villain in charge finally turns up and just looks like Steve Jobs jdsklfjsdf. He does have a cool voice though. One more thing- the cliffhangers in this story are absolute bangers. You’d think with 9 (or rather 10) of them to fill they’d run out of good ones, but pretty much all of them feel like they’d be the most memorable part of an average story, they’re all just really tense or particularly baffling. Love the one where the gang get ambushed by a Roman army, and you’re left thinking “oh, this might not be an Aliens Invade World War I story after all...”
So that’s the end of the second Doctor, Jamie, and Zoe- as well as 1960s Who, and monochrome! Big changes, and I think the show was lucky to have such a phenomenal story leading up to it (and coming out the other side, too). I don’t think I need to say how much fun each member of this Tardis trio is, I’ve probably gushed enough in this post. I’m sad to see them go. I have to say, their comedy (and physical comedy in particular) is something I always love EU authors picking up on and running with, and something I wish the show did more often!

2023 UCI Track Champions League Recap
As the leaves turn orange and the weather gets crisp, where do folks go to get their cycling fix? Not to cyclocross, but to the UCI Track Champions League. Bikeflights partnered with the international track cycling event for the second year running as its official bicycle shipping service to facilitate the safe transfer of over 60 track riders’ bicycles across five rounds of fierce competition.
Tumblr media
The bicycles were moved first after Round One in Mallorca, Spain to Round Two in Berlin, Germany, followed by transfer to Round Three in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France, and were finally delivered to Rounds Four and Five in London, England. Bikeflights International Manager Brenna Clancey led event preparation and oversaw transportation while Delivery Manager Kent Sanchez facilitated on-the-ground operations, assisted by Bikeflights Guest Staffer Nadia Gbané throughout the first three rounds.
Bikeflights International Team Lead Sam Quijano received a last minute call-up to assist with the final two rounds in London.
“It was a phenomenal experience to be able to see and work on the operational side of the event after being involved on the planning side over the past two years,” said Sam. “The riders were a lovely group of folks who are immensely talented, and it was a privilege to help safely transport their bicycles.”
Tumblr media
The riders competed in two primary categories across the series: sprint and endurance. The event program alternated between sprint events, such as the match sprint and the keirin, and endurance events like the scratch race and the elimination, with riders performing the overall best in each category across the series earning the title of series winner.
Congratulations to the 72 riders who competed in the event and to the series winners:
Women’s Endurance - Katie Archibald (United Kingdom)
Men’s Endurance - Dylan Bibic (Canada)
Women’s Sprint - Ellesse Andrews (New Zealand)
Men’s Sprint - Harrie Lavreysen (Netherlands)
Tumblr media
Our responsibility at Bikeflights was to safely and quickly transport the athletes’ bicycles between each velodrome location so riders wouldn’t have to worry about bringing their bicycles on airlines or on public transit between rounds. For the second consecutive year, we pulled this feat off without a hitch! Once the event series came to a close in London, we also helped ship many of the riders’ bicycles back to their desired locations in the European Union.
When not directing the organized chaos of packing, labeling and transporting dozens of athletes’ bicycles, Kent and Sam were able to take some time to see the sights around London. They were able to visit famous sites such as the London Bridge, Borough Market and Hyde Park and got to attend a West Ham United home game.

The label's name is rooted in the olden cry of a scrap man collecting metal with his horse and cart, and also hearkens to Clancey’s family scrap metal business which was founded in 1872. “Any Old Iron,” is also an Old English music hall song which references a young man’s sartorial dandyism – a quality that is distinctly English, and, ever-present in the brands aesthetic. In October of 2014, Any Old Iron moved its store to Nashville, Tennessee from NYC looking to dress the city’s musicians and fashion forward locals. Now a store on Music Row, Any Old Iron’s clients include Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Cher, Ozzy Ozbourne, Kate Bosworth, Taylor Swift, Elton John, Miranda Lambert, Cardi B and the Jonas Bros to name but a few. . . . I’m so sorry to tell you all I had to cut this section out of Ch. 2 of Every Day is Christmas if the Vibes are Right:
———
“Ah, finally,” Cor said into the phone, his gaze shifting to one of his armrests as he spoke, “were you still in bed?”
The voice at the other end was not pleased.
Mildly, Cor said, “I thought you were a good driver.”
That seemed to be the wrong thing to say. Dunn looked like he was biting his tongue hard to keep from bursting into laughter.
“I understand you may be somewhat on edge this morning —”
“FOR FUCK’S SAKE, COR!”
Cor held the phone away from his ear. “Yes, yes. Try not to become too well acquainted with the hedges, and tell Irvine we’ve got good news.” He hung up before the other could answer.
Dunn buried his face in his arms and shook with laughter.

Morning Pages 1/29/2023
I am feeling really grateful this morning. Yesterday it got kinda dark but im happy i was able to feel those feelings in a safe space. Right now i’m listening to a frankenstein-song that Jordan’s Song teacher made from one of their projects. Im really grateful to be in thighs creative space. Im grateful to be in this space with them. I feel so creative and so motivated to create. Its like i forgot this person and jordan is reintroducing me to myself. We were talking about being able to see our own light, and i’m grateful to meet jordan because so much of our experience together has been a mirror for me. Well. every experience i have with everyone is a mirror of some sort, but with jordan there are just so many synchronicities its just really hard to ignore. I sometimes have to remind myself that the synchronicities do not mean we would have a great relationship if we were together. But i think that the way we are open to learning about ourselves and open to working on our shit is what makes a great relationship. Also our willingness to communicate honestly.
As im getting into a new relationship i am now becoming more aware of my boundaries, or the lack there of. Or even when there is a boundary in a place that no longer needs to be there. I can feel the boundaries that i had up starting to soften. As the boundaries soften it allows me to experience the pain so much more. The boundaries i had up were to prevent pain, but now that my boundary has softened i am able to feel the pain so much more. I think because i softened the boundary with my mom it hurt me a lot when she didnt believe in my. It hit a chord in me that felt true. I feel like i cant make money or that i dont deserve to. There is still something in me that says i dont deserve nice things so i dont allow myself to have the money for nice things.
I’m still working on this money stuff. Still trying to figure out what i learned, still integrating. I think there is still more of the ballet experience that im unpacking. I discovered yesterday that i feel very unsafe accepting money from my mom. Maybe i need to just stop depending on her. It feels like if i create this boundary its me running away. But i know i need time to process what happened. Im very hurt. I wish my mom could just listen and let me process. I guess i still have to accept that my mom is just not where i’m at and i’m better off telling her half truths. I dont owe my mom the whole truth, but i feel so inauthentic when i dont. I feel the scared part of me still walking on eggshells with her.
I hate that feeling of walking on eggshells. That codependent feeling. If i want to end codependent relationships then i need to stop being codependent with people. What is my relationship with my mom? Thats what im really trying to unravel. I feel like clancey caught in the soul bird’s string in the Midnight Gospel. There are so many narratives that i need to unravel. I wonder what would happen if i just approached my mom as another human person in this world. She is my mom, but even the word mom had narratives wrapped around what is expected in the relationship. Maybe i need to stop trying to make a better relationship with my mom and just accept where its at. Maybe i need to be hopeless, not hopeless of change for the future, but hopeless for changing the wat things are right now. Right now i am still hurt and so is my mom. And as much as i can hold space for the pain my mom has experienced, there is pain that i have attached to past experiences with her that i need to hold and tend to, because she is unable to, im really tired when people are like “you know your mom is just not equipped and blah blah” and all that. Like im still fucking pissed off. Im angry. Sure, i know all that, but im still fucking angry. This was a feeling that came up with Kate during the nourishment retreat. I logiced my way to a reasonable reason to why the adults in my life couldnt show up, but that did not address the anger i felt when the adult did not show up for me.
Feeling this anger is an interesting experience, especially with this spooky music playing. Im so angry. I am angry. There no narrative except the feeling of anger. I wonder if i just feel the sensation. I cant feel it now. Its like the sensation on my come sup when i speak the narrative i wonder if thats what spells are. You say words and feel them in your body and that creates an energetic output that attracts things to you. The anger that I was feeling has now morphed. Angry doesnt usually stay long, it quickly goes to sadness and pain and hurt.
Its interesting coming into my body and experiencing sensations and seeing what kind of narratives i have attached to them and what feelings come up.
Passive aggressive. I can see the times where i am like that. And the habit of wanting other people to feel my feelings. I need to ask people for their consent if they have space to hold what i’m going through. I feel like ive been better at that. I can recognize the growth i’ve made and im really proud of myself. Im still sad and grieving for the little me that didnt have parents to hold her so well. I need time to process and grieve and for some reason the people around me want to push things. I get it, that what i was like in order to gain control. Thats how my mom gains control, by shaming, guilting, and pushing. Thats how i gain control. We can choose to be different. I can choose to be different. My first step is to accept and be hopeless. Accept that i project my shame in order to gain control. In order for me not to identify it. Wow. by brain and body are very clever to try not to feel the pain of shame.
Honestly, let me shower in that shame. Let me dance in it. Let me rub it all over my body and drag it across my face like war paint. I want to be able to wear my shame and move through this world bearing it like the cross. The shame i felt growing up in the church and in a religious house hold. The shame i felt for wanting to be myself. The shame i felt for believing in magic, and ghosts, and spirits. The shame i felt for feeling my feelings. The shame i felt for touching myself. So mcuh shame. Shame for tending to myself. Shame for getting what iw anted. Shame for spending money. Lots of this shame isnt mine. I dont even know what shame is mine.
Let me look at the shame around money. The higher me doesnt feel shame for spending money or making large amount of money or even having money. But there is a part of me that does. A part of me thats afraid of it all. A part of me that is still attaching its worth with money. Worth and money was attached growing up in the 90’s. And in my household. We were taught that you were more worthy or better if you had more money and if you were good with money. But “good with money” is subjective. The “good with money” created this disorganized attachment with money. Money was a thing we wanted, but then it would be so bad to spend it. I understand that i need to invest in my home and in my self if i want more money to come back to me ten fold.I understand this because i am not attached to money. I have no attachment to money, because i have no attachment to money i am not desperate for it so it does not cause suffering in my life. But now it is. Its like this past year i’ve experienced all forms of this disorganized attachment and i can see the ways where this still feels disorganized. I think i need to bring this into my body. But i'm not feeling it right now. May i be more aware the next time i feel activated and bring it into my body.
Yesterday i felt the pang in my chest and immediately hung up. And the my brain went on this wild ride into the pit of despair. I wonder what my body does when im in that pit. I'd like to be aware. There's something but my wearing the shame like a badge of honor that feel kinda good. Like i wanna be able to walk around with the shame and say “Yes, i have it, yes it bothers me, but not so much as it used to. This feeling will only have as much power as i give it. But it will do what it wants to do and i get to observe until i find a healthy relationship with it.
I’m happy to be building these relationships with these different parts of myself. I wanna be able to hold my shame and unworthiness with love and strength. I see the ways where ive tried to rid myself of the shame and rid the things in other people that triggered my shame. I wanna hold my shame’s hand and show her life and say “you see. Its not that bad.” maybe my shame is my 5 year old. Ohhhhh i felt bad for wanting to be a ballerina and i felt bad that my parents didnt have enough money and i felt ashamed that i had expensive tastes. I felt ashamed to be my messy self. I shamed myself for being messy too. I wonder if ive just identified with that shame and its been my base line. I havent been feeling it so its been stuck. Its hasnt moved out of me. Its ok to feel shame and its ok to not feel shame. Both states are accept here and every part of me is welcomed.
