No because I’m so sure we’re gonna have Buck realizing his feelings for Eddie in 7.04 only to get him longing for Eddie in the next episode. We know 7.05 is called “You Don’t Know Me” and if it is in fact based on Ray Charles’ song, then that episode will have a theme of knowing and loving someone who only considers you a friend. A friend who doesn’t know about your feelings for them. So if Eddie does reassure Buck that no one will ever replace him in his life and mentions the term brother, that could very well put an immediate damper on Buck’s feelings. He will immediately realize Eddie won’t feel the same way because he considers him to be family. Then we can very well see Buck trying to deal with the aftermath of discovering these newfound romantic feelings for Eddie only to have to mourn the loss of being able to confess to him about said feelings. Eddie’s in a relationship so clearly it’s not the right chance to come clean about it. He’s also probably not even remotely close to considering Buck in any romantic aspect that Buck knows of. So it’s a missed opportunity on Buck’s behalf and now he has to navigate how to deal with having strong feelings for someone he’s very close to, who doesn’t reciprocate those feelings. At least to his knowledge.

Eddie’s going to be the last one of the team Buck comes out to and he’s going to be supportive because of course he is. He loves Buck, he just wants Buck to be happy and fuck Buck looks so happy - so free - now that he's figured out this part of himself.
But it’s also going to hurt like a bitch feeling like Buck trusts him least. Even though it isn’t that at all. It’s that Buck is terrified because what Eddie thinks of him matters so much, because he doesn't want Eddie to think he's been lying to him about such a huge part of himself.

Something something Bobby talking to Eddie about how Athena was there for him when he was struggling and Buck also defining love as never giving up on a person when they are at their worst which is so similar to what Bobby is getting at
And hmm who has been their for each of them when they are at their lowest? Let’s look at some examples:
Eddie being the one to drag buck out of bed when he was depressed after the bombing and pulmonary embolism
Then he shows up for him again and reassures him when Buck was dealing with the guilt he felt in the aftermath of the tsunami
Buck being the one to breakdown the door and help Eddie deal with his mental breakdown
Eddie being Buck’s safe place to go after everyone showed up at his loft to check in after the lightening
The lawsuit era and Eddie’s fighting and how they both just spiralled further because they weren’t able to be there for eachother
Eddie being the one buck went and talked to after that cursed dinner with his parents
Eddie being there for buck (hospital jail scene) when maddie was kidnapped by Doug
Eddie being there to rationalise and talk to buck after chimney punched him and left and maddie left before that
Buck admitting to Eddie in the graveyard scene that he is very much not okay and just feels the need to pretend to be the same old buck
I’m pretty sure this isn’t even all of them but yeah I feel like it’s so weird for them to keep including lines about love being so interlinked with this concept of being there for someone at their lowest and then consistently showing us that when buck and Eddie are at their lowest they are each others person to turn to
Like oh my god I actually sob like they trust eachother with the most fragile, the most painful, the most dark parts of themselves and are so vulnerable with eachother time and time again

Okay I’m emotional but I didn’t realise how much of a sucker punch the end of season 2 and start of season 3 was for Eddie until now.
First you think your wife is pregnant but she’s just late, and then she asks for a divorce right when you think you have your family back. And then she dies, right infront of you. And then to top it all off your best friend gets crushed by a ladder truck and almost dies.
And at the start of season 3 said best friend starts vomiting blood when you think everything is better. Then you let him take your son for the day and he and your son get lost in a tsunami that you don’t even know about until your friend is staring you in the face telling you he’d lost your kid. Only he didn’t because Chris found his way back to them both.
And then your best friend is cut off by a lawsuit and you get into an illegal fight ring
And that’s just over 6 episodes. God they put him through the wringer.

The threat Eddie’s hands imposed didn’t last long. Buck took them both in his before they reached his neck and rapidly maneuvered them behind the shorter man’s back, pulling him in as a consequence. They were suddenly very, very close.
Eddie would be lying if he said his heart didn’t immediately jump. He could practically feel the heat coming off Buck’s skin from under his own shirt. Still, he wasn’t at peace, so he struggled. Hard. “Let go of me.”
“Tell me what’s going on with you first” urged Buck, his voice soft for the situation. It was maddening, but it was working. No matter how much he moved, he somehow ended up farther into his arms, like quicksand. “You’re acting like a lunatic and I deserve to know why.”
He grunted and scoffed, opening and closing his mouth several times, a bit of a reality check washing over him. “I- uh, I plead the fifth.”
Buck’s grip became tighter, and he was forced to look at him, swallowing. Staring into anyone’s eyes was easy for him, but he wouldn’t win against these.
“For someone who came in here banging on my door and demanding to come inside, you sure seem like you have nothing to say.”
Again, he had no option but to swallow. Truth be told, he wasn’t really thinking. There were few moments in his life where his vision was completely red, and this was one of them. If only he hadn’t listened to her.
His muscles tightened, an uncomfortableness setting in his every fiber. He felt like he was coming down from a very painful high, and he wasn’t ready to face anyone about it, especially not Buck. “Let go of me” he ordered. “Now.”
Instead of stepping back, the blond man moved closer, letting go of Eddie’s arms but cornering him against the kitchen aisle. “Not until you calm down.”
But how was he supposed to? Everything she told him was real, and the proof was right before his eyes. He had marched in here with a purpose, but that purpose was misguided. He was everything she told him he was. “I can’t.”
It could have been the uneasiness in Eddie’s eyes, or maybe the fact he owed him, but before either could do anything about it Buck was leaning down and capturing his lips with his own.
It was one fast kiss, touch and go, just to calm him down, he told himself. It quickly became hungry.
Eddie’s hands pushed on his chest almost desperately, trying to fight him off, but Buck kept him steady by the hips, overpowering him until he relaxed under his touch. No less than three minutes.
“Eddie” he pleaded, his voice breaking as he put some distance between them. “Please tell me what’s going on with you.”
Thing is, Eddie’s brain had stopped working around the same second he felt Buck’s tongue. He had desired this for so long, and now that he had it… he didn’t deserve it. “No” he finally said, pushing Buck away softly. “I’m not gonna let it happen like this.”
“Eddie” insisted Buck. “It’s just you and me.”
A spark of something lit up inside him. So Buck was alone. Simultaneously and unwillingly, the pit in his stomach deepened. “You didn’t- did you- well did she-”
“There was no date, Eddie,” said Buck, stopping his train of thought rather violently. “Did you really think I was gonna go after you kissed me? You kissed me. Have you thought about that? You kissed me.”
“You keep repeating it like it’s the worse thing that’s happened to you” he barked, hitting him on the shoulder. Honest to god, he had no idea how to dig himself out of this situation and he was starting to panic.
Buck took one step closer and Eddie’s breath hitched, his heartbeat raising. He couldn’t stop staring. “No, Eddie, it wasn’t. And if you had asked me to stay, I would have.”
