Soziale Angebote wären wirksamer

Mussten wir gestern berichten, dass die Mitarbeiter der Deutschen Bahn mit Bodycams ausgerüstet werden, so übertrifft die heutige Meldung das bei weitem. Die New Yorker Gouverneurin Kathy Hochul will mit dieser und weiteren Maßnahmen Verbrechen verhindern, die statistisch gesehen gar nicht zugenommen haben, schreibt die NZZ.ch. Über ihre Parteizugehörigkeit sagt der Artikel nichts, es ist aber anzunehmen, dass im Bundesstaat New York keine Republikanerin Gouverneurin wird.

Neben der Stadtpolizei sind 1000 weitere Einsatzkräfte im Dienst, das sind Polizisten des Bundesstaats New York sowie 750 Nationalgardisten. Alle zusammen dürfen sie stichprobenartig Taschen der Reisenden kontrollieren und sollen einen martialischen Eindruck hinterlassen.

Auch diese Aufrüstung wird nicht zu mehr Frieden und Sicherheit - in diesem Falle in der New Yorker U-Bahn führen ...
