#honkai star rail #dr ratio #veritas ratio #aventurine #aventurine hsr #cherallart #as you can see i forgor i wanted to draw his glasses til like. last second #i can’t believe it’s been like 2 whole months since I last did a whole like. watercolor illustration #part of that’s been bc I’ve been having a bit of a rough semester bc adhd med issues (which are resolved now)#but I really wanted to draw aventurine and ratio. my boys #i’ve been LOVING penacony so far so I needed to get something nice out #anyway I did this while my s/o and I alternated between reading a 500 pg long history book out lout to each other #it’s called ‘the inheritance of rome’ and kinda covers what happened after the collapse of the western roman empire #and tries to identify and explain all the cultural echoes and reverberations and transformations that rose from its ashes #throughout europe north africa and the middle east. anyway it’s super interesting and I highly recommend it #the late antique period is not something often covered/talked abt in public ed hist classes. at least not when I was goin through em #or the transitory period between it and the early medieval period at least #i still got 150 pages left and a final paper due on it in like 4 days but it’s only a 5 pg minimum and I’m a wordy bitch so #i think i can make it #anyway back to that I go

I'm rapidly becoming a huge audiobook stan like especially as a lover of many books that I have a hard time reading and keep track of (looking at YOU high fantasies and certain more academic texts) now whenever I'm like "I want to read this book but IDK if I'll be able to process a damn thing" I go ough..what if..there's an audiobook...Like Hell Yeah slap some character voices on those motherfuckers and I suddenly Get It

#literally i read about half of dracula daily last year #and processed IDK like 50% of what I read #im having a MUCH better time with Re:Dracula #not that I dislike reading a book visually don't get me wrong #but certain books i know my eyes arfe gonna be bouncing around the page #and retaining very little #aka ones that are dense or were written with older language or just real fuckin long #if ur book is over 500 pgs please read to me #anyway excited to finally actually read the LOTR books via audiobook

#like before people have given me random lines to include or stuff #technically we’ve already got one of those since I didn’t write the first line #also like yes I know no pressure to update just whenever it’s fine I’m good I’m just having a good time #I generally don’t feel pressure to write #I either feel like it or I don’t do it that’s the life of a bitch w 3000 hobbies ukno #anyway like I can’t let y’all name the ch #so like line suggestions is an idea #or you can ask me questions and I can answer with either blatant lies or half truths or be infuriatingly vague but truthful #what is the fun in fic writing if not annoying a small audience of people with whom I share a vague distant parasocial relationship #anyway covid kicked my ass so that’s why I was just not doing shit month of July #I say halfway through but that’s a vague guesstimate I make based on pg number #not because o have a required pg number like it could be 1 pg or 500 I don’t care #but cuz I generally tend to write 7-15 pts per ch without noticing? like I’m not normally counting it just happens #anyway we’re at 5 so that’s like… maybe halfway idk I’m writing the whole ch all at once #also for …. reasons …. I’m going to write ch 25 before ch 24 so it might be like a long break and then two in quick succession #ch 24 is like technically mostly written tho so it’s not a big deal

i wish so badly i did not have to go to class tomorrow i am like not feeling it in a MAJOR way like i am REALLY not feeling it. like it’s not even bad i have my easier classes tomorrow but they make us stay over an hr after classes (although we might be able to leave earlier tomorrow) and i signed up to talk abt a case in my first class like 3 weeks ago that i was supposed to do 2 weeks ago but class was cancelled so now it’s been literally 3 weeks since i read that case but 😭 anyway to sum up how my day has gone here is some texts i sent to my friend earlier today

#michelle speaks #had an unfortunate incident today where i was supposed to submit smth & i submitted it exactly one sec (LITERALLY) late & it didn’t go thru #which is like. not the end of the world but i spent my entire spring break working on it & now it is not going to be looked at at all #it’s not graded it was just to sign up for smth. but we had to read over 500 pgs for this & i was one sec late to submitting not even the #paper i wrote but the preference form that i realized after i could have submitted at any point which makes it worse #so yeah. i wish i didn’t have to go to class i want to lie in bed & also my period has made me way more tired than usual 😭

finished The Whalebone Theatre and i have my first 1-star read of the year, a book that made me angrier the more i read it but somehow also compelling enough for me to bother completing it, if only out of grim curiosity to see how badly it was all going to play out. i don’t mind books without a plot, where it’s just about the lives of a family - the previous book I read was just that, and it did it so well! But this book was so half-arsed about everything, and refused to dig deeper anything that happened that it felt really hollow and trite. i want my time back
