ooo I don't have time to write it now but thinking of a jamikali AU... A few months after winter break they get called back home seemingly out of nowhere. Turns out: someone told Kalim's parents about the overblot. Kalim makes every excuse he can think of, because if he can't Jamil will 100% be dead and eventually pulls the "I love him" card. His parents try to call his bluff and basically go "ok, prove it. Do this magic ritual that will bind your souls together and will make you unable to physically harm each other." Kalim knows Jamil's gonna resent him [for real this time] but it's the only way to keep him and his family safe...

Kalim clings to his father in a way he hasn't since he was a child. He's never been particularly tall, but he'll use every extra centimeter he has to keep the man from leaving and alerting the guards. He scrambles for something to say that he hasn't already. "If you woke up and mama was pressing a knife to your throat, would you stop her? Would you tell anyone what happened? Report it to any authority?" His father stops. "Kalim..." His voice starts firm, but quickly trails off. "Baba, please, you can't-" Kalim buries his face in his father's shoulder. He's out of options. Hopefully Jamil won't be too mad at him for this. "I love him." The man sighs.

He probably has a degree in every science and engineering and that just makes me want to die. I can't even handle one bachelor's. bro achieved things so high that he's got that licence to say we're stupid.

The fact that. Real people like this also exist scares me too. Like I remeber once i was at an event and they were holding a panel for recruiting ppl to top unis in the world, and like. This guy had 6 different bachelor's degrees from Harvard.

i brought my wii u to college this past weekend so i could play splatoon before nintendo shuts down their servers and i realized that a lot of the grafitti is reused as stickers and other hotlantis items in splatoon 3

#i also beat all 25 levels of squid jump while timing out from lobbies :’)#i’m sure the splatoon team made new stickers just for 3 but i wonder what the ratio of new/old actually is #i also noticed that a LOT of splatoon 3 kits are pulled straight from 1. even the kits on launch #dual(ie) squelcher splat bomb echolocator/wave breaker #squiffer sensor (big) bubbler #s1 ttek ==> s3 splattershot suction zooka #just to name a few #like i knew s1 returning kits was a problem on the second kits and we have very little s2 refs (i miss my enperries…) but like. wow #splatoon #splatoon 3

For a show that's supposedly about female empowerment, it's odd how every major female character is heavily influenced by men

Women whose fighting styles are based on men: Ruby (Qrow), Yang (Tai), Cinder (Rhodes)

Women whose ideologies are based on men: Weiss (opposition to Jacques), Blake (same as Ghira)

Women whose stories are almost completely intertwined with men: Nora (personal arc was figuring out who she was without Ren), Pyrrha (almost every scene with her prior to V3 was with Jaune), Emerald (almost every scene prior to v8 was shared with Mercury), Salem (motivated by Ozma's death, cursed by idiot brothers)

If the writing cast reflected the character cast, we probably wouldn't have this problem

#rwde #dont give me any drivel abt qrow basing his style on maria. she didnt exist until v6 and it shows #meanwhile in the v first episode ruby states qrow as the one who trained her #if maria had existed prior ruby wouldve gushed abt having a similar style as THE GRIMM REAPER #this problem tends to escalate w side characters. most groups outside our main protags/antags have a 1:3 woman to man ratio #and ofc every major person in power is a man bc why not #real tired of shows that have a majority x cast being handled by majority y people #this goes for race. sexuality. religion. any demographics w a clear hierarchy #if you wanna have a diverse show it has to be behind the screen too or else you are going to fuck up immeasurably #like writing that you should roll over for your oppressors and hope that theyll just give you your basic rights #ugh #also clarifying major characters as ones that span most the show not ones that center in specific seasons #but p sure even those stories wouldnt function wo men taking some center stage

— Kurenai : She's not close to them but they are mostly fine. Except for the Hyuugas. She holds an active grudge against Hinata's dad for the way he has traumatized his daughters. Or in other words, he can go fuck himself, Hinata is an amazing kid. In Shino and Kiba's case, she sometimes go to talk. In Hinata's case, avoids them like the plague.

— Asuma : In good relation with all of them and actually enjoys talking with them about the kids. Best case scenario. He's like their uncle, being honest. Still he's amazed at how much they don't know about their children sometimes. Not that they are bad parents, but there's so much about their kids they don't understand...

— Gai : Passively sits to listen to Kurenai when she complains about the Hyuugas, which says a lot about his own opinion of them– you know it's serious when Maito Gai stays silent. Otherwise, he is Rock Lee's dad (for all that matters anyway) and Tenten never talks about her family, so he doesn't really care. Those are his kids. It's all that matters.

— Kakashi : Refuses to give his opinion, it's clear to everyone that's not a topic to be discussed with him. First, he won't get caught saying what he really thinks of Hiruzen after seeing where Naruto lives, (never has he ever been so enraged on the behalf of his sensei). Second, it does not take a genius to hate the way the Uchihas used to operate and treat their children. Third, he is still convincing himself there's nothing wrong with the Harunos. It's not working, so he opted to forget their existence, just like Sakura conveniently does.

man ok so you know the spiciness scale on menus that show you how spicy a dish is so you can order based on your tolerance. can we have that for sauces too please

#im being serious btw. the sauce to rice ratio is very important and sacred to me #whenever i eat at home i get to choose how much sauce i can have with my rice because i dont like absolutely dousing it but i still wanna b #able to taste it yanno. i dont do well with slippery/saucy foods and ive given up trying to understand it. it might be a sensory thing #i am so sorry to admit this on the soup website but i cant handle thick/chunky sauces or curry. forgive me #the worst part is that i actually can handle and even enjoy some like caldereta and congee. but its so hard to tell people ill eat this but #not that.. its embarassing because it feels like im making exceptions. which i am!! because its preference!! but alas #but anyway with the sauce scale. i was thinking it would be nice to include a scale for how much sauce you want with a dish #rather than just skirting away from a food because you feel like you cant handle the texture or feel unsure about it #sauce could be adjustable without completely changing the recipe so it would be more like a matter of quantity or serving size #also i feel like i can make cool names for the scale. like “light drizzle” to “sauceageddon”#im asian so when i eat sauce i pair it with rice and it works because the rice kind of cancels out or makes the sauce more tolerable for me #with caldereta i make it an even 50/50 because i can taste it in the rice without the texture getting in the way #but with pasta and sauce its normally 1/3 sauce because the pasta normally isnt enough to cancel it out #i also grew up with relatives making fun of my eating habits and i really really hate eating at restaurants and gatherings because of it #maybe its because they want to make sure im eating right but!! you dont have to call me out for my 1/3 portion of spaghetti sauce!! damn!!!#anyway im not sure if anyone feels the same abt this and maybe its just me. but it would be really nice to have this a normal thing #without judging ppl for their eating habits and preferences. on god #yapping #food ment #EDIT: ASKING FOR SAUCE ON THE SIDE.
