i tried to make a more sentimental post but as someone with the weather (and by extension space weather) as my special interest i am so so so so happy seeing all the posts from people who got to experience this rare solar storm <3 it makes me so happy when people get to witness how beautiful (space) weather can be!!!
#i had a whole anecdote ready about how i got a book about the weather in 2003 in the netherlands bc a hot air balloon knocked over our fence#and how i have been fascinated by the pics from that solar event#(and also by the description of a tornado that hit a farm 1km away from ours in june 2003)#but i am too fried from my job today bc the island shifts are always around 12 hours#but trust me i love the weather and i want to share it with others.... reverse gatekeeping etc etc#i have also been thinking i should make more weather posts probably so that people are aware of the funky things happening in their area#but that might be more EU centered#ALSO wow photography really got miles further since 2003 bc the pics from this solar storm have been soooo much better

#ask#raidendotcom#jack im so sorry i wanted to send like 9 images of possums i have saved to my phone and i was SO tempted to do so#but this specific one in particular..........#i dont have any pets though.... :(#my last pet was a cat we had named Fatso (we didnt name him that. it was the name he had when we got him)#but we had to give him to another family. im sure hes doing just fine today :)#before him we had a guinea pig named Munchy that i took home from the woman who'd cut my hair#the first animal i thought was our pet was a golden retriever named Rusty#he was actually my uncles dog (he lives close by) and hed always hang around our house and we also kept dog treats that my brothers ate#he was a golden retriever - poodle mix. but the only poodle part of him was his ears. he had curly fur on just his ears :)#we have a photo somewhere of Rusty and me with my aunt playing in some leaves#shoutout to Rusty... fucking loved that dog even if my perception of who owned him wasnt correct as a 3-5 year old...#also yes i remember a memory of being on my front porch and my brothers were eating dog treats out of the box#i feel like they were scooby doo branded or something.#it was between the years of 2001-2003#i also have a memory of them just throwing some CDs around outside like frisbees#like i remember broken disc bits in our front yard#i also remember drawing treasure maps a lot and me and my middle brother would light the edges on fire to make it look authentic#i also remember putting rocks in the airhole to the tornado shelter we had in our front yard#listen the doors to it were big logs so we werent in need of using it any time soon. plus tornadoes dont occur around here#its still there. but ive never been inside it so i have no clue what the inside looks like#its just a hill with two doors aimed 70 degrees towards the sky. and theres an airhole hidden at the top of the hill#or it was an airhole until i shoved some rocks in it#🤗✨ oh well#anyway thank you raaiden for the ask :)#sorry i was too committed to the bit to send more opossums :( i hope you can forgive me :) >:)

Why are you not watching Weather Channel 1993 through 2004 1-3 hour unedited broadcast with commercials right now? Are you sick? Sick in the head? Are you completely out of your mind? What the fuck is your fucking problem? There was a severe weather and tornado outbreak in May 1999 and you don't even fucking care. You don't give a shit about the current local conditions? It was 56° in your area with partly cloudy skies on September 18th, 2003 and it really just seems like you don't fucking care at all. Grow up.

Have you heard of Kinzua Bridge State Park in Pennsylvania? It has a bridge that collapsed in a tornado in 2003 and the destroyed supports look very cool! They aren’t quite pylons but they have similar vibes, i think

What If I Had Never Tried It [English/Italian/Spanish/German/Japanese/Chinese, etc.]: Vale’s only autobiography to date, translated into a lot of languages (so many that it’s hard to keep count). The English edition is notoriously rough - think spelling mistakes and some lost-in-translation moments. Despite this, yellow fans absolutely shouldn’t miss out on this gem. Published in 2006, during Vale’s zenith with five consecutive championships under his belt, the book radiates his happiness and confidence. The narrative is casual, with chapters loosely connected, but you will still find pleasure in reading this book.
MotoGenius: the Valentino Rossi biography by Mat Oxley: Oxley remains my all-time favorite Rossi author! Initially published years ago, the latest edition is available on Kindle. It’s a treasure trove of Vale anecdotes and Oxley’s unique insights, offering a glimpse into how Vale captivated his generation.
The Valentino Rossi Files: Everything I’ve ever written about VR by Mat Oxley: Available on Kindle, this collection (in two parts) encapsulates all the articles Oxley wrote about Vale for magazines and newspapers before joining Motor Sport Magazine.
Valentino Rossi: The Definitive Biography by Stuart Barker: A comprehensive biography of Vale, chronologically organized.
Valentino Rossi: Il Dio del Motociclismo by Fabio Fagnani [Italian]: Not recommended as the author’s fan-like admiration making it read more like a love letter than a biography. The only saving grace is the interview with Aldo Drudi.

When asked about a movie about himself, Vale said, “If it’s a bad movie, I’d rather it didn’t exist.” He holds a similarly cautious stance towards documentaries, and has never personally produced a documentary about himself, though perhaps that might change at some point in the future.
Faster (2003) : Premiered at the Festival de Cannes during MotoGP’s golden era, this documentary intriguingly portrays the rivalry between Vale and Max Biaggi.

Ohohohohoho i will >:) i always need an excuse to talk about this made up little show >:)
So i dont have all day so I'll definitely do each season in its own post but heres a more in detail description:
I'm going for a vibe somewhere between Teen Titans (the 2003 show) and The Owl House if that makes sense, very true to the comics. The show starts with the team already established (not just the core four or the six from the first part of the run, all eight of them) The series premiere opens with Red Tornado yelling at them for being stupid while they are completely ignoring him and Traya is the only one kind of listening while drinking a juice box (yes shes here too im a sucker for teenagers having a fourth grader following them around and not being mean about it) Then in the middle of the lecture, the Justice League comes in and gives them what they think will be an easy mission. It is, but in typical yj fashion it doesnt end up that way. Over the course of the first three episodes, they fail to complete the mission and instead end up in space, in a dance dance revolution tournament against hermes himself, fight each other at least once, Kon brings up his ttk thirty four times, and they set at least one thing on fire.
I will elaborate more in a little bit once im on my computer, i just woke up and my phone is a nightmare to type on. Anyways does anyone have a billion dollars to give me so i can produce Young: Just Us

I’m realizing, that I have a lot of ‘daddy issues’. Pretty fucked up, to be 40s, a wife, mom and heath provider, to just process this, but there it is.
I don’t know if I’ll ever want to talk on it more than to say, to all my dad friends out there (some I’m jealous of your kids for the dads they have), paying attention to your daughters is CRUCIAL. Ignoring her, sets her up to think a whole lot of shit, that is not cool/healthy, is not only ‘fine’, but also expected. It’s not a great path to get started on, and not all are lucky enough to meet people who set a new bar as to expectations.
I think the epiphany of where my head is at on this might actually be enough for me. This space is a damn journal for me anyways, a window into my soul, and why my content fluctuates through a space time continuum, then onto Bigfoot. So 💁🏻♀️
Dad did get out of the hospital last weekend. He spent 15 days there. The chemo wiped out all his blood cells, he received a variety of blood products, I shared more on a previous post, he finally regulated. We are starting the immunosuppressants this Wednesday. I’m scared. It’s a raw, gaping place of thought and feeling. Coupled with the realization, I don’t really know my dad, I know OF my dad, and I’m not sure he really knows me either, it feels monumental and heavy. Saturated.
Alas, he’s home. I’m doing his meds. Cooking some meals for ease, by brother is close. My uncle has been incredible. It goes.
My moms brother had a tornado hit his place this past week as well -
I called my uncle and asked what he needed. He couldn’t process. So I asked C if he would be willing to roll and dedicate our day, it was a lot. I then called my brother, told him. Then my cousin.
I’ll tell you what. The emotion that engulfed me; when my hubs, my brother, my cousin, all said they were coming, then they did. My uncle, man, he and my aunt, it was another barbaric weight. hell, even my dad came and got the kids. Then my SIL came and some more extended cousins.
That’s the reason I’ve never wandered too far, for too long. That support? You can’t match it. It’s neighborly. It’s comfort. It’s home. I thought I lost that when I lost my mom.
I was drinking too much too compensate. It’s not been a healthy place. I’ve been sober for 2 months? I’m taking my supplements/vitamins, I’m drinking my water. I’m eating healthy. I’m sleeping. It’s been positive. The right thing. I’m not sure I will ever drink again. It gets me to a really dark place, it’s most defiantly a depressant, it numbs me, it takes me away from being present, and I am not ok with that.
C and I are slogging through. We’ve been much better with communication, connecting in a real way - let’s be honest, in marriages, sex is important, so also is talking, hugging, touching base throughout the day in thoughtful ways, trying to find similar interests - and we are being mindful of that. All of that. It’s better than it has been in a long while, we still have some hurt feelings and bruising to address, we will though. That’s for sure a better place, to know you are staying together not because of a promise, but because you really want too, and give a shit - it’s just better that way. To know that. To feel that.
Work is good. It’s been complex (?), with layered issues, expansion, all in a positive way. In a way I’m involved and want to stay that way? Also, I feel steeped, in the support I’ve received over the last several years. I’ve been there since ~2003/2004, and that means A LOT. Plus I get compensated, have good benefits, time off, et al. It’s a good gig.
So now, the house is cleaned - by me, top to bottom and outdoor spaces too. I’m in the bath on an extra day off - thanks 4th! - and then we are headed up to visit my dad, shoot off fire works with my cuz and his family.
It feels that I’m digging out, of another layer, just seeking the light.

I want to read the dc comics, but I have no idea where to start. Which one do I read first?
I gave recs for what I started over here and they’re mainly what I started with so you can understand what I draw, but here are some more :) when I first started reading comics I went for shorter ones but as you read you get exposed to characters and you’re like “I wanna read more of them” and then it all spirals from there. I think it helped me get used to reading comic bullshit lol. I only started reading this year so there’s a lot I haven’t read out there.
1. Supersons 2016 (very cute and more lighthearted, three series, finished so it’s about 30 ish issues in total i think, Damian Wayne/Robin and Jonathan Kent/Superboy are the sons of Batman and Superman and they get into shenanigans and have a cute friendship. I really like these ones😊)
2. Young Justice 1998 (older so dunno if you wanna start with it, but it’s fun and wacky and I love it, 55 issues plus some crossover/tie in issues so probably like 60 ish issues, features Tim drake/robin, superboy/Conner kent, impulse/Bart Allen, wonder girl/Cassandra sandsmark, greta Hayes/secret, arrowette/cissie king jones, plus more like empress/anita fite, slobo, and red tornado.)
3. Graduation day (mini comic that is 2 or 3 issues about breaking up yj and the titans smh smh) then the core four (Tim, Bart, kon, cassie) join the teen titans
Teen titans 2003 (grittier and edgier than yj but has it’s nice character moments here n there, about 100 issues, but I’m not gonna lie if Conner isn’t in the issue I kinda zoned out or skimmed it ummm >_>)
4. Batman urban legends. ( ongoing, anthology of several stories and characters, good if you wanna meet a lot of Gotham based characters. This was like my first legit exposure to dc comics specifically so I’m putting it here)
5. World’s Finest 2022 (ongoing, Um I think there’s 5 or 6 issues out rn. It’s revisiting Batman, Robin (Dick grayson), and Superman’s first years together and it’s reallyyyyy cooooooool. I love the vibes and art. Feels very authentically comic book-y. Dan mora is my favorite dc artist Honestly . Lots of others show up too like Supergirl and Doom Patrol 😊Actually this is Probably my fave out of the new comics)
6. Batgirls 2022 (ongoing but there’s like 9 issues out I think??, features Stephanie Brown, Cassandra Cain, and Barbara Gordon, who have all held the mantle of batgirl. Also the art slaps.)
7. Batgirl 2000 (70 issues, about Cassandra cain’s run as batgirl, I haven’t finished it but Its like a really lauded run and is well written so go read it)
8. Batgirl 2009 (26 issues I think, this is about Stephanie brown’s run as batgirl, she is my beloved I love her so much and her jokes are so😖💜)
9. Red Robin 2009 (26 issues I think?, runs parallel to Batgirl 2009 and Batman and Robin 2009, I put this one last bc I feel like it needs a Lot of context unlike the others where you can just jump into it but it is short and It was also one of my first comics so 🧍🏻♀️. Basically Tim drake had a solo run (Robin 1993) but it’s over 100 issues and I haven’t even read all of em bc there’s. So much. So if u wanna read more tim drake stuff I’d suggest looking up a reading list bc he debuts in the Detective Comics issues and then gets his own solo. Anywaysss so basically a lot of shit happened lots of friends n family died or “died” leaving Tim in a pretty bad place. Bruce is assumed dead, so Dick becomes Batman and makes Damian his Robin, and Tim takes up the Red Robin mantle. okay actually you can easily pick up the context when u read so nvm😗✌️)
I was gonna put more but I’m on mobile and hit the photo limit ☹️ Kon and Bart have their solos, I started reading The New Teen Titans from the 80s, Damian has a recent robin run, and I’m planning on reading more supergirl/superfam comics and green lantern corps comics so yeaaaaah there’s a loooooot.
