oh, of course!! :D

i'm using krita, which is a free art program :) it's got an animation feature that covers what i'd consider all the essentials [layers, onionskin, timelines, etc.]... anddd you can export the animation straight from krita so that's a big plus to me who doesn't have a proper editing software

it's not perfect perse [the animation playback is a bit laggy and the audio feature is sadly busted] but i think it's still really good for being free so i'd suggest trying it out!

and sorry if you're a mobile person i really don't know anything good for phones :')

#also should note - krita isn't my usual art software i only use it for animation #my usual art software is a 12 year old version of adobe elements which is a bit of an odd choice for drawing i know #i think it came with my first drawing tablet so i've been using it since i was 9 and i keep trying new things but i keep coming back #like i'm trying clip studio but fellas i don't think it's going to stick #so uh. yeah. don't ask me about my usual art program because i think i'm the only person using what i use in this day and age #and i can't in good conscience recommend an adobe product because. yeah #ask response

Quahaug Concept Art

Quahaug's concept/reference art! Translation notes and image id under the cut.

Translation notes:

"OP sort of powerset" was literally translated as something like "cheat-like." I feel like OP is the more common English term for that sort of thing, so that's what I used, but some of the meaning was probably lost there.

"Older-tween-ish" was specifically a reference to a particular middle school year for children who are about 12-13 years old. Since grades and names of grades vary a lot from country to country, I just went with "older tween."

[Image id: Several images displaying different parts of 2 pages of the Triangle Strategy artbook, with both the original Japanese as well as versions with English translations. There are several disclaimers noting that the translator doesn't speak Japanese, and that there are likely many mistakes.

On one page, there is a large colored version of Quahaug's canon portrait, along with a smaller, uncolored version. There is an illustrator's note at the bottom that translates to read, "'Manipulating time' is an OP sort of powerset, so though he looks like a child, I aimed to create a look for him that conveyed a sense of unknowable power. On the second page, there are many drawings of Quahaug, including a closer bust-up portrait in which he's compared to Lyla, with an arrow and label reading, "Mother." There's also several notes that explain the construction of his costume. The costume is labeled as a Greek "phelonion" (a priest's outfit with no real sleeves, just draping fabric). There is a small drawing of this version, with an arrow leading to another drawing that does have sleeves, with the note, "If you can't display this in pixels, use this one." There are several notes that explain how this draping cloth should be considered his everyday clothes, while the ceremonial decoration that goes around his neck is placed over it. There is a close up of the ceremonial dressing's fastenings underneath the metal decoration. Some more notes highlight details on his staff, emphasizing the hourglass on top and the small wheel to the side that can be turned to flip the hourglass. A larger piece of text underneath one fullbody drawing reads, "Character Who Manipulates Time."

On the second half of the second page, there are drawings of some beta designs for Quahaug. He looks much more punk-ish. On one bust-up portrait, there are the captions, "The burden of the time demon caused some of his hair to go gray…." and "All-natural highlighted tips." On the same portrait, he is snapping his fingers, and there's a note that reads, "Manipulating time is as easy as snapping your fingers. You just have to want it or whatever." A speech bubble near his head reads, "I don't think of Anna as a mother." A caption pointing to some green markings on his arm reads, "Demonic time seal on body." In a fullbody drawing of his beta design (which is made up mostly of chains that barely cover him as well as a long roughed-up cloak, there is the note, "Almost naked cloak."

At the bottom of the second page, there is another note that reads, "Initially when we hadn't quite figured out the setting, we had an idea for a more older-tween-ish character as displayed here, but after discussing it with the producers and Mr. Ikushima, we went with his current form. As a boy who manipulates time, I placed an hourglass at the tip of his staff, and his face resembles that of his mother, Lyla. (Tatsuaki Irushibara)". /end id]

I have made

the rough

of an improv card game

#It's late and I'm feeling impulsive it's fine #My subconsious offered a story-driven randomized roleplay game in a dream last night #The dream version was obviously fancier but for a rough draft it is cute as fuck #Made with two pieces of paper (I just realized I can make more cards from the scrap of one of them heeheehoohoo)#I've made the board and 12 cards as the starter pack and they're all adorable #The board is just a simple L-shaped grid with seven spaces - the dream version had something close to double that #I think making it modular/with expansions similar to card packs (lol) would make it infinitely replayable and expandable #Not that a longer game with more players would necessarily be more fun but it's still something you could do! Lol #Recommended number of players on the current model is 3+ with one of the players acting as the GM #The full version is also 3+ but with a little more wiggle room for early game - I think it could comfortably host 5+ including the GM?#Anyway the plot is a whodunit where the third player (including the GM) plays as the murderer - their goal is to get away with the murder #While the other players' goal is to find out who did it and why and then apprehend the criminal #It's not as set in stone as Clue - like there's no murder weapons or necessary locations - all that part is improv #The cards are all either Character or Location cards - Characters are easy to understand archetypes that the player has to embody #But depending on the order players draw cards determines what role they play in the story - so say they pull the Mad Scientist card #If they pull first then the Mad Scientist is the host of the party that the murder occurs at - if they pull second then the Scientist dies #And so on #So anyway I finished all the art for the Characters (9) and Locations (3) and they're all adorable I love them #I tried to make most of them gender neutral or at least open to interpretation but a couple of them lean a bit more one way #It'd be silly but the idea of special edition cards with alternate art to lessen the disappointment of getting a double sounds fun haha #Anyway - I'm gonna see if I can playtest it tomorrow :)

What is the most recent thing you've written or drawn? Do you like to share sneak peeks of your work, or do you prefer to post finished pieces only?

I'm currently working on a follow up on that comic I posted recently where Donnie sneaks to April's school, so here's a peek of that. Kendra also shows up in this part of the story, so I wanted to draw a reference image for her (Kendra and April are around 11-12 years old here btw)

I took some inspiration from Angel when coming up with her outfit and hair. Fun fact, for a short while I thought Kendra WAS Rise's iteration on Angel. I watched Rise first, but I'm bad at names so I immidietly forgot that her name was Kendra, but I still remembered that she existed so when I watched the 2003 show and read the IDW comics and both of them had a girl with purple-dyed hair who had ties to the Purple Dragons I just assumed Kendra was Angel as well but... I guess not? Anyway, canon be damned, I still headcanon that Kendra is Rise's version of Angel lol

Anway, I do like showing sneak peeks of my WIPs, but I mostly tend to do it when work on longer projects like comics and animatics, otherwise I usually don't really feel the need to show it off until after I'm done with it.

This is my magnum opus! A GIANT photo manipulation of at least 12 source images, painstakingly taken apart and put back together in Photoshop. at one point this beast had over 80 layers! I am surprised my computer didn't crash!

Inspired by the Iron Man 3 and Thor: the Dark World posters wherein the love interest is posed like a Damsel in Distress.

Since Bucky IS CapSteve's damsel in all 3 movies!

^ my original digital sketch (featuring my FAVORITE Bucky drawing OF ALL TIME by @evankart!) and first attempt at a digital drawing using adobe illustrator (to be fair to 2021 me, I had been using illustrator less than a year at that point and would have just done it in Photoshop originally if it wasn't a project for one of my Graphic Design college classes) I used it for a magazine spread in my capstone (My paper was about queerbaiting in the MCU click to read on Ao3!) A Shitten situation...

Ok so, joking aside... Let's explain what happened here: At first I was just designing another Lamb, I wanted to do something a little aggressive and different to Avana... But somewhere in the design process Narinder's genes came to light and for some reason I can't explain he ended up looking like the son lost from Narilamb (a shitten)

Anyway... meet: TAO! (two versions)

Protagonist version: This was my original intention. In this universe Tao takes the place of the Lamb of prophecy, being only a child (approximately 12 years old). He is obedient and constantly seeks approval... So at the moment of the final decision he prepares to die... but at the last second the fear and anger of the betrayal consume him and he ends up destroying the red crown.

He immediately wakes up to discover that he has not actually died, and makes it his personal mission to hunt down the god who has abandoned him.

Oh but wouldn't it be interesting if I told you that sometimes the gods do want to care for and save their warriors? Yes, in this universe Narinder does intend to save the Lamb after his sacrifice, he just never says it directly which is why things get complicated, you know.

In this AU (still unnamed) Tao becomes Narinder's hunter, he is constantly angry and aggressive, he is immortal but sometimes his younger and more innocent side returns to the surface making him act again like a sad and scared child. Fortunately mom Forneus is there to hug him. At the same time Narinder (who is trapped in a mortal body) is constantly running away from him and looking for a way to repair the crown and also explain to Tao what really happened.

Narilamb version: in this "universe" Tao takes the role of the son of Narinder and the Lamb. He was summoned through a ritual (you can read the recipe in my doodle heheh). The original intention was to discover if it was possible for Avana to resurrect her species with her new powers, but in the end she ended up creating a family member with some eldritch god touches.

Bonus me trying to define how I wanted to draw him and at the same time realizing the accidental mix I made

Lupin Canon VS Headcanon

Saw this template on twitter a while back and had to try my hand at it! It’s very fun style matching, especially since I’m doing that for my day job right now. I drew my version first then tried to match various Lupin styles that inspire me and put the characters in the same pose/expression. Give it a try, it’s a fun challenge! The Smiling Critters Headcanons

Here are some of my personal headcanons of The Smiling Critters, cartoon version. Why I did this? Because art block.

Warning though: CatNap x DogDay ship mention

All eight of these critters have the tendency to act like their animal species or do things that only their animal species are known to do. Examples below:

DogDay can bark, he just rarely does so. But he sometimes pants like a dog, especially after a long, vigorous exercise or play. And sometimes he does the play bow when he wants to play. He mostly play bows in front of CatNap.

CatNap loves boxes, grooms himself like a cat, and will play with cat toys and laser pointers. He will knead DogDay’s belly or anything soft. And he can vocalize like a cat. Even hiss, yowl, and chatter (aka when the cat goes “ekekekekekek.”). If he does not like you, expect to get scratched.

Bobby BearHug sometimes uses trees to scratch her back. She also can climb trees with no problem!

Bubba uses his trunk when taking a bath and he sometimes trumpets.

Hoppy tends to stomp when annoyed.

Kickin can crow like a rooster, since he’s a male chicken. He crows when he is excited though or as a victory cry. He rarely clucks, but he goes “BA-GAWK” when startled/scared.

Picky squeals like a pig when she gets scared. She rarely snorts and oinks, but she does it.

Due to being a mythical equine, CraftyCorn’s ears pretty much work like the ears of a horse. The ears show her mood. Pinned back means she’s angry, annoyed, or moody. When her ears are up and moving about, she’s listening to the environment around her. Since she’s a unicorn, sometimes Crafty points her horn when she feels threatened.

CraftyCorn is shy and often draws alone. She often hides her artwork immediately someone asks what she’s drawing. She will, however, become angry when someone purposely messes up all her hard work.

PickyPiggy avoids eating chicken and pork.

Hoppy and Kickin have a friendly rivalry, especially when they’re playing sports or doing parkour.

Bubba is the nerd of the group and loves to learn new things. So much so he becomes curious a lot and asks a lot of questions.

Bobby BearHug loves hugging people, but she always asks someone first if they want a hug.

Bobby is also the love expert and is very observant once she sees that someone has a crush on another someone.

All eight of the critters can breathe their own gas like CatNap, but their gas is their respective scent. CatNap can breathe out the lavender scent instead of the poppy gas, but only when he is calm. Bobby loves to use her rose gas/scent to blow kisses.

The Critters sometimes use others’ scent as a stress reliever and not just as a way to sleep.

The critters often times get nightmares of what happens to their BBI versions.

DogDay and CatNap are best friends, but CatNap has a crush on DogDay. DogDay likes him back, but both he and CatNap are idiots. They don’t know that they both like each other. They are always coming up with excuses why they think the other doesn’t return their feelings.

All 6 other critters are aware of this and tend to tease the two when the other isn’t present.

Have any of y’all seen Barbie: The 12 Dancing Princesses? Have you seen that part where the sisters tease Genevieve for her crush on the cobbler? Yeah, imagine the Critters teasing DogDay for his crush on CatNap like that.

Since the group is 4 boys, 4 girls, the groups often have their own nights where they can hang out and chat. Boys Night and Girls Night!

THEY ARE DONE!!!

I finally finished drawing the mercs of the MlpTf2 AU of @homkamiro, but first, im sorry, cuz i accidentally made heavy too diferent form the original design. as i was doing him my brain just got stuck with the idea of a percheron horse heavy and well... it ended up looking like this.
