Update for November from the upcoming Good Omens Graphic Novel! :) ❤

Apparently I’m a demon and I lied: we won’t be doing more frequent updates, split between information and reveals. We had heard feedback that the updates were too long; then last month, we heard even more feedback that people liked the comprehensive updates after our last one, so instead of promising a particular amount, we will mostly stick to monthly, but play it by ear if anything special comes along…

We did say we’d be back with some exciting things: we’ve already shared with you Rachael Stott’s beautiful alt cover featuring Crowley and Aziraphale, but here is Bookshop Blaze, the print included in Loot Box #1 (Serpent Tier+). Isn’t she a beauty?

What we’re also hearing, every time Aziraphale is illustrated alongside ducks is, “More ducks”, so meet the duckling enamel pin (Demon Tier+). Any angelic duck names welcomed.

As for the mystery packs, we promised more pins and more pins you shall have. These mystery packs are add ons, and these five are just a sampling of what is to come. To keep track of the enamel pins, you can visit goodomenshq.com.

We’ve had sample pins showing up and while most that we have in person we’re yet to reveal, here is the fearsome hellhound Dog in all his glory:

Some eagle-eyed fans spotted another pin cameo: Sir Terry Pratchett pins appeared at Neil Gaiman and Rob Wilkins’ event at the British Library, which celebrated the Worlds of Terry Pratchett, just in time for the 40th anniversary of Discworld. You can watch that event here.

PledgeManager

Onto more logistical updates, while PledgeManager is closer to being ready, we will now be launching this in March. We’re working on some additional versions of items based on your suggestions, ensuring everything is locked in for shipping everywhere, dotting the is, crossing the ts. This is a busy time of year for everyone, and so it seems best for all, rather than to rush the process, we instead give everyone a decent bit of notice with a much firmer date, and hit 2024 with some gusto.

On that note, as a reminder, PledgeManager is where we will process shipping addresses and payment, so don’t worry about not supplying addresses yet, or indeed moving in between now and the graphic novel's release. There’s still plenty of time before this is needed.

Cameos

We are working through cameo admin at the moment. Note that Archangel Tier backers have their survey with a deadline of 30 November, the higher level cameos should expect to hear more in December. If you have purchased a cameo and have any questions, please drop us a message.

here's the concept art for each of them btw. i dont really have a singular colored concept sketch for MTT, when i made him i made an entire page (and its kind of old, sorry) so i added notes to (hopefully) make it easier to navigate??

Speaking of Karin and Sarada theres a tweet going around comparing Karins first manga appearance (chapter 348) to Saradas cover page in TS Boruto chapter 2, that's why the Sarada (Sakura) fandom is desperate to make RTN Hinata parallels, bc they tried so hard and even with hundreds of alt outfits they couldn't make any with Sakura, yet if you look at the above images I mentioned she looks like Karin without trying.

I know what you mean like seriously I honestly think Kishimoto wanted to through the Karin is Sarada's real mother route, but got shut down to avoid Sakura fans backlash.

Of not to nitpick but it was Ryan Adams who did the cover of 1989, not Bryan Adams. Easy mistake to make! But they’re different generations. Ryan Adams is Mandy Moore’s ex and is sort of alt rock.

His construction is unknown, even for Fedelis himself. But given he was a street urchin for the first few million stellar cycles of his life in Kaon, it's safe to assume it was not high on Fedelis' needs, even today at the ripe age of 27 million stellar cycles (In his mid-fifties in human terms).

After a good 8 million in the inner city, Fedelis's decided to get a stable way to have the fuel to live another day. So he went to the city's gladiator pit. Initially wanting to be a warrior, he's fit and survived for a long time- until he witnessed that many bots were warriors to the point of being comical. Many faceless rookies to the astonishing amount of famous visage. He was not that educated, but even a street rat desperate for income could see he did not have a chance. But he wasn't going to give up the pit. He noticed an opportunity, a shocking lack of doctors for the wounded warriors. He took the chance and never looked back. Worked as a Gladiator medic for an impressive 10 million cycles before being recruited as a war medic.

Despite the bright red medic symbol on his shoulder and the bright yellow visor, this mech is not a flashy dude. A muscular but not pageant muscle build, a tan, grey, and black color scheme. And a mask covering the lower half of his face. He's practical, telling folks he's a medic from a glance, firm but cushioned from adrenaline-induced fight response from patients, preventing his face from getting stabbed again. He only removes the mask when he's absolutely pissed. The medic's dodgy knee won't save you.

Despite his simple looks, he's still good-looking, and everyone recognizes him because this mech is blunt as hell, reputable for keeping Gladiators alive, and he has time deceleration. He fires a blue electric blast from his cannons that slows a medium-range area's time to a crawl for ten minutes, with everything affected but him. He primarily uses this ability to help extremely critical patients and, in the time of war, help with the evacuation.

During his time in the war, he has seen the worse. Even with being used to the wounds the bots he repaired from the gladiator pits. And it was hard to keep the younger member of his team (Flow) grounded and focused. Then one day, Ghostwire came into the picture.

Fedelis is not the kind of mech who would not stay silent about how poorly the Decepticons or Autobots handle things. He proudly punched a scummy councilman once, and he'll gladly do it again. But he was rightfully upset that someone in the Decepticon hierarchy allowed a TEENAGER to join during the twilight years of a long grueling war. He does not care that this young femme has an impressive mod or is willing to join. They should know that recruiting someone this young during this time of the war is a death sentence!

Despite his evident concern, the scrappy femme was still on time, and fast forwards with the rest of the team almost killed off. Fedelis is very over how Decepticons' deviated from their beginning goals. And now, with the Allspark gone, all cybertronians will suffer. The old medic, by now, adopted Ghostwire and then decided enough is enough.

With what's last of the squad and later a few pets and Ghostwire's sister, somehow alive after all these vons, the clan traveled across the universe and occasionally Alternate Universe. Thanks for a fascinating quirk with old space bridges Flow exploits.

It’s wild to think that I’ve been a mod on this blog and answering your questions since I was 16 years old, pre-everything, and still closeted at home.

Now here I am, 6 years later, and as many of you know, I’ve recently had ALT phalloplasty.

Unfortunately (and also fortunately?) being well-endowed means I need a little extra support, so the only underpants that are comfortable for me to wear are the kind that have a separate pouch. And those tend to be more expensive than the cheap underwear I had been wearing when I was pre-op.

So if anyone wants to buy me a birthday gift (and has enough disposable income to do so— if you can’t afford it, don’t do it!), I’m basically trying to rebuild my underwear drawer from scratch now that none of my old trunks fit me anymore. I’m also hoping to get some thigh sleeves to cover and protect my donor site, and some silicone scar reducing sheets.

I’m going to continue making my post-op phallo supplies list posts discussing the things I got for my recovery and what I found useful, and I would be happy to review any of the items on my wishlist if anyone gets me something!

hello! i recieved an ask yesterday asking how i made and coloured these five hargreeves gifs and i’ve had some people ask me in the past how i make gifs + my colouring and sharpening settings so i thought i’d put together a guide to how i make my gifs!

note — there’s isn’t just one correct way to make gifs as so many gif makers on this site use different techniques and software to make their creations so there’s no such thing as doing it wrong! each person has a style that’s suited to them ✨ this is going to be a fairly long and image heavy tutorial so most of it is going to be under the cut!

what this tutorial covers — how to make gifs — how to sharpen gifs — how to colour gifs / strong colours, vibrant colours and pale colours

what you need — photoshop cc / i use photoshop cc 2017 and you can either buy it or you can download it illegally because in 2021 we are eating the rich — a screen recorder / i use screenrec which you can find here! it’s free to use and you can record hd videos!

— first you need to find a high quality video and i’d recommend 1080p! otherwise you’ll notice patchiness in your gifs especially in different coloured spots — if you’re making gifs of kpop stages, then .ts files are the best to use however you will need an additional program such as vapoursynth to deinterlace the videos to make it clearer — for my purposes, i just use youtube simply because i want to save data and not download entire episodes!

— i’ve found the part of the video that i want to gif and just paused on it!

— for screenrec i press alt + s and it comes up with a small window where i can select the screen size that i want to record! i recorded the small clip and it comes up with a small pop up at the end to save the file as an .mp4 to my computer!

— now we can move to photoshop! i first clicked file then in the dropdown menu i selected import and then video frames to layers. photoshop then opens a file window where you can find your saved clip and select it by pressing open!

— once the file has been selected, a small photoshop popup appears again and it’s titled import video frames to layers where it shows the clip with options on the side and a small timeline with ‘clips’ at the bottom!

— you can use the large inverted triangle to search for a particular scene and then use the smaller halved triangles to bracket the scene you want to clip! so in this instance, i’m creating a gif for whatever is between those two boundaries! then you click ok!

— make sure you have the timeline open in photoshop and you can do that by clicking window in the top bar and then clicking on animation although in some versions of photoshop, the animation option is just called timeline! this is the timeline below!

— this is where gifmaking can vary for different people! my understanding of this part is not that brilliant so i just follow the simple method i learnt when i first started making gifs! there’s a small symbol that looks like three bars with a line through them and i click them!

— now that i’ve clicked that, the individual frames have been converted to a timeline! and this is what it looks like now!

— now i’m going to turn my attention to the sidebar where the layers are all visible and i’m going to select all the layers before right clicking and hitting convert to smart object!

— all the layers have become one smart object which i can apply filters and colouring on to! this little red line and blue marker helps me slide through the gif and trim the gif down even further to the exact moment i want to keep!

— now i’m going to crop my gif! the dimensions and ratios of your gif depends on how its going to be laid out on tumblr and there’s a general guide for gifs:

one gif per row is 540px width

two gifs per row is 268px width

three gifs per row is 177-178px width!

— you can keep the height as much as you want but remember larger gifs have larger file sizes and they may exceed the tumblr upload limit of 10mb! quality often decreases with larger gifs as well! i’ve cropped by gif to a 540px by 326px gif! this is all personal preference <3

— technically, that’s your first step done! if you’re happy with your gif and how it appears, then it’s ready to be saved! click file then export and then save for web! these are the gif saving settings that i use!

— and this is the final gif! there’s no sharpening settings on it nor any colouring but it’s ready and working! you can choose to leave it at this!

— on tumblr, people like to sharpen their gifs! it makes the gifs seem cleaner and smoother and of a higher quality. there are many programs which you can use to denoise and clean gifs such as topaz, vapoursynth, or avisynth! — for the sake of tutorial (and my sake, since i’m no expert in those programs) we’ll stick to the sharpening that you can achieve with photoshop!

— there are different types of sharpening settings and today i’ll show you three settings that i’ve seen on tumblr and that i mainly use! — i’ll add that you see a variety of sharpenings in different fandoms on tumblr! in my experience, kpop blogs like smooth, denoised gifs with more of a matte finish and for example, netflix shows and marvel gifs have more defined, grain finish! but of course, anything goes 🌈

— i go to filter and then sharpen followed by smart sharpen!

— the first sharpening setting uses 500% amount sharpening, a 0.3 radius and it removes gaussian blur! this is what it looks like:

— the next is very similar to the previous sharpening however it softens the sharpening just a little! once you’ve done version #1, you duplicate that layer and go to filter then blur and then gaussian blur and make the setting 1% which really does blur the gif out but THEN you change the opacity of the duplicated layer to 30-40% and i use 35%!

— the final version is the one i used the most often, it’s similar to version #2 except the sharpening in the first layer is NOT 0.3px but 0.4px and the duplicated layer has a gaussian blur of 2% instead and the opacity is 50%! it creates a very soft and glowy finish!

— there are many different ways to sharpen but these are my main settings! now you can compare the three ways, in the end, it’s up to personal preference!

— so you want to colour gifs? well there’s many different ways on how to colour gifs and once again, there’s no correct or right way! its your creation so you can have as much fun with it as you want! — when i say strong colouring, i mean the type where hues get changed greatly such as blues to aquas, yellow to orange or deep red lips! — i have one psd that i made myself that i use and it is made up of selective colours, gradient maps, channel mixers, vibrance sliders and colour balance! — you can probably find many psds like this on deviantart and slap them on! — there’s not much guidance that i can offer with strong psds as they vary so much and it’s up to you! but here’s an example of the one i use where you can compare the before gif to the after gif!

— vibrant gifs are a personal favourite of mine! there's so many options and they're fun to make!

— i'll be using the same gif as above for the vibrant tutorial! a major step is curves where you can adjust the brightness and the lighting of the gif with more depth than a simple brightness/contrast layer!

— after the curves i adjusted the selective colouring and turned the reds and yellows up to highlight his facial features and skin tone! imo its a very good step especially if you're giffing poc!

— the next step is very important for vibrant gifs! if you have a major colour and in this case, blue, then go the hue/saturation and turn the saturation up for that colour! be sure not to over do it until it becomes grainy!

— as you can see the blues have become a lot more prominent!

— with another selective colour layer, i changed the cyans until they were less of an aqua and more of a deeper blue!

— and now this is your final vibrant gif! this is a very simple method i use and this was an easy gif to colour however there are brilliant tutorials on tumblr where people explain how they coloured harder scenes/scenes with reds and yellows!

— i’ve always adored pale gifs! they’re so aesthetic and clean to look at and there’s been a resurgence of pale gifs on tumblr lately! — in the past, pale gifs, and especially for fandoms, were always extremely whitewashed with poc being lightened so much that their hands are pale :/ or even more so, there were no poc in pale gifs at all! but luckily in the past year or so, there have been brilliant gifmakers who have proven that there is no excuse for whitewashing poc in pale gifs and @fadenet have a brilliant tutorial for making pale gifs with poc that i truly recommend!

— this is a very basic look into making a ‘pale’ gif and i will update this section later with another gif that shows a subject with darker skin! but for now, this is just how to take away colours such as blue!

— this is the gif without any adjustments made (except for sharpening!) please ignore the terrible timing of this gif!

— first i’ll use the curves layer and tweak it slightly! but as you can see, it changes felix’s skin tone and makes it a bit too pale!

— i brought back some of the red of his cheeks and the yellow skintone as well! altho this music video is already pretty whitewashed but we’ll do our best here! :/

— next we go to hue/saturation and completely draw back the saturation on felix’s hair by using the cyan sliders! there’s a major difference and we haven’t touched the lightness setting yet! it may look like the colour blue is gone but it’s not! go to the blue sliders and turn the saturation up!

— as you can see, even though we got rid of the cyan, the blue undertones are still there!

— so we’re just going to draw that out entirely! you can see if the blue tint of the background is gone now! unfortunately he looks like a vampire and we’re going to try and bring some colour back by adding another hue/saturation layer again and drawing up the red and yellow saturation!

— in hindsight, this felix wasn’t the best version to use for pale gifs so i’ll update this version with a different gif! but this is the difference between the original gif and the pale gif!

Summary: There was a limit to everything, but Thomas hadn't yet realized that there was a limit to prioritizing others too. That's why Janus had to step in, but first there was someone else's consent he needed to get.

A/N: Hello how are you feeling I am destroyed in both good and bad ways. So, I put this little headcanon of mine where the sides get physically worse too as the state of Thomas's mind worsens. Other than that yes there are obviously spoilers and hope you enjoy, I don't know what I did I just let the words keep going out of my mind. That said, stan Janus. Have a good day!

Enough.

Enough was enough and Janus was sure none of them could take it any further.

He knew he'd been awake when he marched towards his door at almost four in the morning, the dark of the night hardly a villain against his memory of Thomas's apartment's furniture position.

There was no way he would have turned Janus down. Not in his state, anyway.

Deceit knocked on the door to Virgil's room and only heard a muffled, almost choked noise coming from it.

He ignored his heart sinking in his chest.

« It's me. I'm coming in. » he announced himself, not prepared but not surprised either by the scene laid before his eyes.

The room was a messier mess than usual, Virgil was contorted between his own blankets with the darkest shade of black under his eyes, starting to to expand in the shape of veins on his face, like tiny thunders had begun spreading across his cheeks.

It had been so dreadful ever since the choice in favour of the wedding had been made, seeing Thomas's mental health gradually decreasing every time the thought of the callback crossed his mind as well as the horrifying possibility of hurting his friends.

The dilemma replayed in his mind over and over again, unanswered questions rose and were shut down the moment they surfaced.

This is the right thing, he would think, I am being a good friend.

And yet it hurt so he would brush it off, increasing his dismay by the second.

Janus couldn't sit and watch any longer.

Not when they all were starting to break down. Not when … when that doleful sight of Virgil was displayed in front of him.

He swallowed the alarming feeling away and stepped closer until he was sitting on Virgil's bed, his hands folded in his lap.

One last furrowed glance to the rug on the ground before he finally spoke.

« I need your cooperation. »

« No- » Virgil's voice came out as a lament, strained and slurred.

« Please. » that was the first time in a long while that Janus had put his hand on his arm. « Do you believe I bare seeing you in these conditions? Seeing Thomas constantly fight with his subconscious with no resolution? » the need in his eyes prompted the other to listen.

Virgil fell quiet and Deceit saw his half lidded eyes barely able to stay open.

« If you want to hate me so much I'd prefer you do it in good shape rather than not being able to stand up. »

Virgil bit the inside of his mouth, partly because he kept himself from retorting something, partly because he had been wanting to cry for so long and it was getting too hard to keep it in, too impossible to fight down a urge he couldn't control.

« Listen. Next time I confront Thomas, don't show up. » Janus looked as the other's expression immediately changed.

Virgil surged up the best he could, eyes squinting and wary.

« What? »

« I need you to trust me, okay? » Janus put up his hands in front of his chest. « Just. Trust me. »

« Trust you? How. How do I not know- How can I be sure you're not going to twist their thoughts? How- »

« Thomas is destroying himself. » he shook his head in a slow motion. « You're one of the sides that should know this better than anyone else. We all see it, but we don't speak about it. We don't bring it up because changing the whole way of how you thought of your values is terrifying. »

« But the truth is we can't keep this self-destructive behaviour up until it disintegrates Thomas's health, both mental and physical. You don't take medicines only after a week of fighting with your high fever because you think you'd be able to bear feeling awful and now you're on the verge of going to the hospital. »

Virgil's stance got softer, more relaxed.

« The same way you shouldn't suppress your emotional pain until you break down and you're forced to take that metaphorical medicine for your mind, too. » Janus watched as his interlocutor finally nodded, Virgil knew deep in himself that everything with how Thomas was feeling was wrong.

Maybe … maybe he could allow letting Deceit …

« What I'm trying to get to is self-care is important as well and as much as it seems like the most obvious thing, we tend to brush it off for the sake of our reputation. Thomas doesn't understand it either and he needs to know he can't keep sacrificing his needs. »

« He's going to burn out. » Virgil's eyes were fixated on an unspecified spot, focused and filled with realization.

« Exactly. » Deceit nodded and Anxiety followed his reasoning.

« I … I don't know, I think I understand, but how are you going to tell him? I don't think he's going to listen with how strong his moral dilemmas are. »

« I talked to Logan. He's going to lend me a hand so I'm not alone in this and prove the integrity of my argument with stable facts. »

Janus stared into Virgil's eyes and still found uncertainty.

He turned his head away from him.

« I am going to twist their thoughts, Virgil, in one way or another this is going to affect their way of thinking eventually and I can't prevent it. It's not wrong, it's not evil or anything, it's a start. The entrance to the healing path. »

« It's not … it's not easy. »

« Oh, believe me, I know. » he let out a melancholy short laugh. « But this is the reason why I'm asking you to trust me. I know what I'm doing, Logan has my back too. If you don't trust me, trust him. I don't plan on ruining anything for you, okay? »

Virgil would have shot up if he weren't in the worst state he'd ever been, but his eyes still widened and his head turned to Janus in an instant.

Seeing that he got his attention, Deceit took the opportunity. « I don't want to step onto a podium and show that I'm better than everyone else here. I don't want to put any of you in a bad light. I just- I just want Thomas to be okay so that we can all stop tearing ourselves apart. And this is going to require me stepping in. »

Virgil's gaze fell down again and his bangs covered his eyes.

« I … Okay, I- »

« Virgil, one last thing. » Janus breathed in and focused on his glowing yellow gloves. « I don't want to change anything for you. I recognize you feel better with this new family you found and I don't want to take you from them. I don't want to prove I'm better in a “told you so” way so you can come back to us. » he took another breath and closed his eyes so the tears would stop forming. « I simply still care about you and it would shatter me more if things didn't work out with them either only because Thomas's mental state affected all of us. »

It was getting really hard to breathe for both of them.

Really hard.

Virgil wanted to respond, he wanted to let him know that he hated the fact that he was still mad at him but he couldn't prevent himself from feeling that way.

He wanted to say he still cared for him too but he hadn't yet realized and it still hurt too much.

« I just don't want you alone the way you are right now. » he murmured, then got up and paced towards the door.

He turned to give him one last glance and await his response.

Virgil was internally devastated and still didn't let others pierce through that.

« Okay. I'll be quiet, but you … please be patient with them. »

Janus nodded. « I will. I'll try to be as cautious as possible. » he turned and now the door was coming to a close.

« Take care of yourself, Virgil. »

There was a clicking sound and he was gone, with that old usual catchphrase he used to tell him.

Virgil fell back on his bed, unable to fight back the heavy breathing rising in his lungs.

One time. One time to trust the last person you'd trust on earth.

But this time he would let him.

This time, he'd let him save them all.

This is an interesting article and I think it covers some really interesting ideas. It’s well written, insightful. But I do have one bone to pick-and that’s with the choices of certain voices included as representatives of inclusive Heathenry.

You see one of them is my former Kindred. A kindred I founded, served on their leading Council for 3 years, and who I resigned and walked away from because of relaxing views about people with white supremacist ideas.

And not just me, but most of the queer community did the same. And it galls me to see them quoted here when they wouldn’t support the multitudes of kinfolk that complained about the growing alt-right element present in the kindred.

I guess this is a bit of a call out. But I’m just so pissed off right now I don’t even care...
