queerbaiting doesn't imply that you have to tell them you're queer, it's using a particular group of people for profit
I know what queerbaiting is and I think you’re missing my point.
Fun fact: the origin of queerbaiting is in the entertainment industry (books/movies/shows), specifically “the incorporation of apparently gay characters or same-sex relationships into a film, television show, etc. as a means of appealing to gay and bisexual audiences while maintaining ambiguity about the characters' sexuality.” Not individuals, although people have begun to use the term with respect to people.
My point is that it’s dangerous to apply the concept to individuals because not everyone is out. Closeting still exists. Homophobia still exists. People can queer signal and not be out. So a person can be queer and accused of queerbaiting because they haven’t said they’re queer and are therefore assumed to be straight.
This article explains it better than I can.

This is my opinion on the subject and I’m not here to convince anyone else. If you feel that Harry is straight and queerbaiting for his own gain, then that’s your opinion. But I don’t know why anyone would be a fan if that’s what they thought of him.
what makes it so sure that Harry Styles is not queerbaiting, he seems to lean on this non gender as an excuse but all he ever does is date women back to back and is always madly in l9ve with them
People can believe what they want.
Personally, I don’t like the concept of queerbaiting because it implies that in order for someone to be queer, they have to tell the world that they are. Nobody is required to share their labels (or lack of) and if people could just be who they are without others having to judge how authentic they are, the world would be a better place.
