Endlessly tickled by the idea of Akira being a good shot but a shit gamer. I like to think its cause hes got incredible hand eye coordination and super steady ‘surgeon’ hands; hes very good with precise movements, but panics when he has to do brain melting inputs. His brain can keep up but its hard to make his hands follow suit. Its why u can have him be dogshit at arcade cabinets; panicking with the little joystick and button mashing like mad, while having him be a beast at things like darts and billiards.

The only arcade games he can play is house of the dead-esque shooting games (hes literally at the top of the leaderboards for MILES and he draws crowds whenever he plays) and DDR cabinets (hes just very light on his feet)(NOT to be confused with stepmania; he would die if he had to do arrow inputs with his HAND). Its kinda fun to watch him fumble with the other silly gimmick cabinets, but its more entertaining to watch him do what hes good at. If u take him to play darts, and if the darts are super cheap, he will absolutely try his best to split them down the middle each time. Doesnt always work, but its insane to know that he lands the bullseye literally 100% of the time.

Anyways, it’s been a hot minute. I was admittedly skeptical when I first heard about Promare, but I went to see it anyways solely because the animation looked cool. (I then proceeded to watch it 4 more times then paid an absurd amount of money to see it in 4DX). I’m really glad I gave it a chance because the entire movie is SO hype and such a huge serotonin rush!

I drew these about 3 years ago (realizing this made me shrivel into dust), but burnout and quarantine depression made me reluctant to compile any of my sketchdumps, much less draw at all. I’m hoping to slowly get back into the swing of things, but in the meantime, I hope you’re all being kind to yourselves and staying safe.

ugh i hate how much of my type kresniks are. how dare i be this predictable.

i’m here to talk about makiko tonight bc it’s been a minute and i miss my volleybabe <3

piano and track are the most notable bc she enjoyed them the most and had a lot of potential for them, but there’s a bunch of lil skills/hobbies that makiko had growing up that she eventually gave up when the pressure to do well got to be too much. she became something of a chronic quitter tbh

now that i’m thinking about it, her family all probably joked about it at some point not realizing that teasing makiko about it actually hurt :(( her brother yuuta is the most aware emotionally, so he’s probably the one to start putting an end to that

this got a lil sad BUT i thought about this bc i’m thinking makiko’s parents had her take dance classes as a kid! her dad thought ballet would be nice, but her mom said no, put her in contemporary classes 

the reason? her mom just liked contemporary dancing more asdfg they also put her in a few ballroom classes bc why not?? baby makiko was more than happy to go for it!

so grown-up makiko is a pretty good dancer even after she stops taking classes -- she can hold a beat rather well and surprisingly doesn’t look awkward doing it!

she won’t dance without other people joining her, though :’ ) ma’am doesn’t want the attention on her and dancing just isn’t as fun alone

she will absolutely teach you how to waltz if you ask!! and pls know that slow dancing in her kitchen to some quiet music at 2 am is a dream scenario to her <3
