- Kouyou started dressing in traditional clothing in an effort to seem older/inspire more respect when she first became an executive, and it stuck. now instructs all the people under her wing to do the same

Exhaustion was weighting onto you like nothing else. Your eyes were hurting at this point from having to look at the same screen for weeks now, only taking breaks to go to the toilet or either drown yourself in energy drink or coffee.
Your boyfriend would often be absent because of his work and he'd support you as always. You saw the worry in his eyes and he would ask if you'd like his help or if there's anything he could do for you.
But you kept refusing him since he had already enough on his shoulders in your eyes. He was probably even more tired than you yet still managed to shine so brightly whenever he'd look at you with so much adoration in his eyes for you, no matter how horrible his day went.
Slowly but surely felt something bubbling up inside you.
"No... I can't deal with this right now." you tried to convince yourself as you swallowed the lump inside your throat.
You looked at the time on the screen of your PC, trying to see through the blur infront of your eyes.
3:47am
Fuck, you were tired. You just wanted to quit everything, cry yourself to sleep and finally be at peace but no. This shitty exam just had to be one of the most important events in your life and you really couldn't fuck this one up.
As you buried your face in your hands, you could faintly hear keys rustling outside the door.
No! I can't let him see me like this!
Yet your tears just wouldn't stop and soon enough you heard him enter.
"Hey, doll. What the hell, you're still awake? I told you to just go to sl-!"
You didn't want to answer him. No, you simply couldn't even if you wanted to.
Only mere seconds passed before you felt gloved hands grasp both of your hands.
"Sweetheart... Listen to me."
You merely shook your head as he watched your shoulders tremble.
Clicking his tounge, he lifted you up with ease, pulling a sudden yelp out of you.
"No, Chuuya. Please put me back, I have to g-"
"Y/N, just listen to me for one damn time."
How could you refuse him? When you could feel his warmth so close to you.
Yet your guilt was frankly consuming your whole being. You could hear it in his voice.
Was he angry? Annoyed?
Because of you?
You just wanted to get through this exam by yourself. How could you burden him when he had already enough on his own plate. He didn't need someome like you just adding more onto it.
"I'm sorry, Chuu..."
You felt him sit down onto the couch, the soft light of the screen illuminating the space.
"For what?" He whispered to you as he began to rub circles onto your back.
"It's just..."
A sigh escaped as you felt his hands grasp yours, finally letting him see you fully for the first time and yet the sight made your heart clench.
"No, none of that shit anymore, alright? If you want to rant about it then rant. If you want to cry about it then cry. But no way in hell can you expect me to sit back any longer. It already went on for long enough these past few weeks. You need a break, Y/N. "
There he was.
The love of your life, wearing his heart on his sleeve for you as he poured it out.
Always being honest with you and laying himself bare.
Its what made you fall in love with him but you couldn't deny that you envied that part of him too.
Yet he always managed to make it a part of you too with words alone.
"But I can't. I'm afraid, Chuuya. Afraid that I'll fail this. Because then what? I don't know what I'm supposed to do if the worst would happen. I just-!"
You couldn't see anything anymore. Eyes so blurry as you tried your best to look at him.
And he still managed to leave you breathless as he wiped your tears away, feeling as if you'd be looking at the sunrise itself.
Always giving the energy to let you see the next day.
"I just don't want to burden you. Anyone. Even myself. But what am I supposed to do? I feel so useless everytime I memorize something and I just keep forgetting it because I just don't want to fail. What should I just d-"
Soft lips met yours, a slight tinge of the cherry chapstick you had gifted him on your taste buds.
"You are not a burden, Y/N. Not to anyone, you or even me. I meant if for every time when I asked if I could help. Yet you would always tell me you'd want to do this yourself and if my girlfriend wants to do that then why shouldn't I let her? But everyone has their limit and you need to understand that. I know you've been crying yourself to sleep these past few weeks and I hated myself for letting something like this happen. "
He let his lips linger on your right cheek.
"It's okay to be afraid."
Linger on your left.
"It's okay to cry.
Linger on your forehead.
"But the last thing I'd let you do..."
And lastly return back to your lips.
"Is you feeling like a burden. Feeling useless and everything that comes with it because you are none of that."
You gently took his face into your hands, letting your shaken eyes gaze into his firm ones.
"But what if I fail?"
"You won't. I know you can do it. I've seen how you are, Y/N. Hell you're one of the strongest people I know. You'll stand up for what's right. Every time I come battered, bruised and everything else, you'd always be there to comfort me, tend to my wounds, even feed me when you have to. Your presence alone would make the weight vanish on my shoulders, yet you always carry it without any complaints. So let me do the same to you and help you. "
You tightly wrapped your arms around him, burying your face into his shoulder.
"But it's just an ex-"
"You better not fucking tell me that its JUST an exam. I'm not listening to any of that for tonight."
You felt his lips stretch into a smile as he buried his face into the crook of neck.
"Let's just go to bed and I'll help you rehearse everything, okay?"
"Are you sure about that? Is your patience gonna hold out long enough?"
You let out an "acK!" as he suddenly tightened his arms around you.
"Don't underestimate me, doll. You've seen what I can do so rehearsing for a puny exam won't be a challenge at all. So let's-!"
He lifted the both of you up with his ability, floating towards your bedroom.
"-just sleep already because we both deserve it after tonight, alright?"
You couldn't help but chuckle at his sudden silliness.
"Oi, what are you laughing at"
"No, nothing. Just appreciating my boyfriend, his handy power and the love he'd always give me."
"D-Don't be so sappy. Rest and save that energy for tomorrow."
"Hmm, oh well. But I still wanna say that I love you though."

First Impression: hes like. okay? funny definitely. chuuyas my favorite concept wise because hes what i was introduced to bsd for and ranpos my favorite characterwise. dazais just there like everyone else i guess! ←he did not know
Impression Now: GRGRGEGGEGHSJJRHRRHHRGGRGRGRGEJSHSHRHRHRHRHGRHR BITES YOU BITES YOU BITES YOU i want to take him out on a nice date and then take him home and watch tv and make dinner and and and cries sobs explodes
Favorite Moment: DUNGEON SCENE- (i am assassinated immediately). to be normal though god i really love the 15 LN fight. i am not immune to that. his conversation with kyouka at the end of the guild arc, when shes on the moby dick. thats so everything. any time hes with atsushi. does that count. entirety of hoshikawa 15 adaptation. if you let me keep talking i will literally list every time hes on screen.
Idea For A Story: usually i would have many but actually thinking about things on purpose shuts my brain down fhfbdndn recently ive been thinking of persona 4 style shadow confrontations and i think sending dazai into one of those would be insane for him. otherwise uhm reaction fic. I love reactions. well detailed reaction about dazai in his entirety not a moment left uncovered.
Unpopular Opinion: everything i say about him is unpopular going by the shit im exposed to via YouTube. everyone but me and my mutuals are wrong about dark era and mori and chuuya and akutagawa and atsushi and the ada and his mental health issues and- actually speaking on that i dont think hes ever WANTED to kill himself. especially including pm dazai, who joined to find a Reason To Live. and i dont think hed have like. very obvious panic attacks??? which is smth me and the ao3 and gacha girlies very heavily disagree on apparently. he feels like the type to pace around for an hour on the edge of one. he absolutely can and will cry also. the stage plays understand me in this.
Favorite Relationship: wow i wonder what itd be hm checks list ME X DAZAI THATS RIGHT YOU'VE BEEN BAMBOOZLED ‼️‼️‼️ TRICKED ‼️ okay but actually yeah obviously very clear soukoku girlie here but i have a VERY soft spot for souheki but only in my specific way. nobody else gets them.

BSD season 4 intro analysis
ok. i havent actually watched any of season 4. this is mostly because im not caught up with the anime and dont care to catch up because i dont want to see how theyre going to butcher it. but i saw @dazaistabletop ‘s posts with all the character frames from the intro and i realized hey theres symbolism going on. my favorite. so here we are
PART ONE: the Armed Detective Agency and the Guild
(this is going to be really long because i have to put in the images individually. thank you desktop)
hey, you’re probably thinking. theres some people in here that shouldnt be here.
1. Aya. i think this is mainly symbolising that she’s on the agency’s side, the side of “good”, but it could also mean shes going to join the agency.
2. Poe. poe is in the Guild, right? sike. not anymore! although i believe the yellow lines of text in his picture could allude to him being in the Guild previously.
now some other weird things.
3. I’m not sure if its just visual effects, or the color changing as it goes along (as i said i havent watched s4), but Dazai especially seems a lot more faded out. this could be something related to how he doesnt feel like part of the agency. not sure. (ranpo’s also seems a little faded out, which could point to how he doesn’t play as big of an action role this season?)
4. Kyouka and Yosano both have prominent splashes of purple in their screenshots. I think this is reflecting how the Mafia/Mori have had such effects on them, which is important considering we’re getting Yosano’s backstory this season. This would beg the question why Dazai doesn’t have any purple, but this could have to do with how completely and easily he changed allegiances due to his lack of actual attachment to the Mafia or morality.
5. Tanizaki. Oh boy. Tanizaki has some purple in his, and also lines of red text(?). i think this is symbolizing that Tanizaki is going to be the one who takes the deal to join the Mafia.
ok on to the guild.
this threw me off a bit because i forgot about them but fitzgerald and alcott and the eyes of god are in fact important. also mitchell, despite being in a coma, is a catalyst for hawthorne’s whole thing. and we can’t forget the masked assassin himself. cant wait to see this loser in the skyfall arc. and lucy is practically a main character at this point.
i think the orange/pink accents are just there to complement the yellow as a color thing, not for symbolism. although the bit of aqua in fitzgerald’s picture likely symbolizes how he’s thrown his lot in with the agency.

kunikida is a commie for sure, probably an anarchist and the theory reading kind too. he's probably involved with local initiatives and tried to radicalize his coworkers at least once. he got unreasonably exited when kenji joined bc the kid is definitely a commie as well. kenji is still a little young (plus he barely knows how money works) so he's been actively explaining what capitalism is to him
kenji basically lived in a commune all his life and wants everyone to be happy, learning what capitalism is and how it works made him incredibly sad, but he's also really determined and so he's been talking about communism to everyone he meets when running around the city
ranpo is a centrist, thinks people who are legitimately invested in politics are stupid and foolish and always brings up the horseshoe theory, doesn't help that poe is crazy rich and works for capitalism incarnate
dazai, when asked, will claim whatever political ideology he thinks is the funniest in given situation, which in practice means he talks abt being an anarcho capitalist just to piss kunikida off (he's been very succesfull so far, almost convinced atsushi that the whole thing made sense). for real though, he think politics is stupid and doesn't really have that much impact, but he also only thinks of politics as the direct actions of the government, rather than ideas, and he's met enough politicians in his mafia days to consider the whole thing corrupt and not worth his time (also mori used to canonically make his read theory which i think is so so funny)
atsushi was generally cut off from the world for the majority of his life, so he only started getting interested after joining the ada. he likes to talk about it and tries to watch the news and read theory trying to develop an informed outlook. he's very left leaning and partial to communism too (except for that one time dazai almost convinced him anarcho capitalism makes sense. he doesnt like to think about it)
yosano is a marxist feminist, vehemently anti-war, she used to come to feminist reading group at a local uni. her and kunikida talk abt politics a lot in their free time and recommend books and articles to each other. she's been trying to push kyouka and naomi to look into feminism too (succesfully)
chuuya is a libertarian and i refuse to believe otherwise. he really hated rich people when he was still with the sheep but after joining the mafia and spending too much time with mori and kouyou he decided that being rich was fine, actually. also he commits tax evasion bc why not, it's hardly the worst thing he does tbh, free market enthusiast
mori is a classical liberal, also canonically seems to be pretty well versed in economic theory (he mentions henry kissinger, thomas shelling and john forbes nash during the guild arc, funnily enough). his utalitarianism really comes through when he talks about politics, they're very kill or get killed (literally or economically), believes in free market
fukuzawa is kind of weird, he doesn't really subscribe to any ideology specifically. overall he's left leaning socially (all his kids are gay, so is he) but he's never actively questioned how the world works, or looked for an alternative. worth mentioning, he used to be an assasin for the government, and the only reason he stopped was due to personal disguist with how he was starting to enjoy it, he never seemed to wonder who and why is he killing, he just did his job completely uncritically, actively benefiting the state
as ive said before, fukuchi could be a commie if he wanted to, but instead of taking initiative in publicly speaking on the horrors of war and his hatred for national states he decided to become a cop, literally the worst he could have done

okay soooooooo.
well, firstly, beast is super well written and really good and like you should just read it because on its own its a powerful story about good and evil and sibling love and friendship and its fucking fantastic as a story completely separate of the bsd timeline. its funny but its also the most heartbreaking thing ever - its self aware but it doesnt take you out of the story - it is So well put together.
BUT. then theres considering it alongside canon. and thats where its fucking insane. beast's existence has you not only appreciating it as its own story but it has you being grateful for and thinking about the tiny little things that change everything and overall makes you so grateful for what the other series has - THIS IS HARD TO EXPLAIN OKAY I THINK EXAMPLES MIGHT HELP BETTER. for example, in canon kunikida is so much more reserved and afraid of being vulnerable because she had dazai as a partner and suffered through the whole azure king stuff. but at the same time, shes a lot stronger and more resilient. whereas beast kunikida is a lot more open and loving because she doesnt have a partner who pushes back against her nor does has she been through that same trauma. while her vulnerability is beautiful it also Literally makes her more vulnerable - she is even more uptight, she is even more fragile and she is so much more likely to break and not be able to come back from it. then of course theres oda who gets to LIVE but at the same time, he was never friends with dazai and so that entire beautiful and life changing relationship they had is non existent. theres akutagawa who got to join the agency and start a much better life with people who love him, but as a result, atsushi is in the mafia and he is Suffering. he doesnt have fukuzawas ability to keep his tiger under control so he has to torture himself to stay in control. kyouka never got to see the light, the only light she has is atsushi and she has to watch him suffer constantly. what beast does is give us insight into the fact that there is no perfect world. it may be the only world where oda lives and that may mean that dazai would give up everything to preserve it but it means we see so many people suffer in a new way. the parallel selfishness and selflessness that governs dazais choices in beast are so fucking interesting. because yes hes hurting himself as well but it is to preserve something that He wants to be preserved. theres just such a bittersweetness about everything in it thats so enhanced by it existing alongside another universe. knowing that akutagawa is making his first friend while at the same time atsushi is enduring constant physical pain. to know that while oda lives dazai lives knowing his best friend, the one who changed his entire life for the better, has no idea who he is (okay i just realised shiki and nayuta core oh my god you have to read it).
ANYWAY. I HOPE THIS MAKES ANY SENSE. PLEASE READ BEAST. ITS SO GOOD

BUT! You can consider your interaction after Koyo's conversation with Dazai, then she reconsidered her attitude towards you and it would already be more like a healthy relationship. Of course, she would continue to follow you, give in, help, indulge. It's just that it's all part of the consequences of her psychological trauma. She wouldn't want to lose you.

Anyway first is the hc that i have,its a small one
But i hc that atsushis hair was originally black,and it turned white during his days in the orphanage and thats how the orphanage knew he was a monster (they didnt know what he was,but child with 'magic' in a toxic church?) probably a demon
They didnt know he was the tiger until later on
The next hc is a huge one :D
and it has to do with religious trauma,Im not going into detail but basically Atsushi has some severe,like some severe religious trauma,not only was he physically abused, The Orphanage's religion was used as a vice of punishment not only for atsushi but all the Orphanage kids,his was just the most severe(like cult typa shit,maybe ot was actually a cult)
Now for the O!bsd x B!bsd au
,l like to imagine for my ver of the au That theres technically 2 headmasters of the orphanage, The original headmaster and his son, when atsushi was a child he was a teenager Atsushi kills the original headmaster and its the son that gets into a car accident later in the bsd series, or you could switch it to atsushi killing the son and after he dies the father repents bcs he knows it was technically his fault.
[This is when shots starts to go downhill and starts to mention timelines]
Atsushi's orphanage bg is exactly like beast au,up to when mori finds him {i think mori might have gone to retrieve him} (this is as someone who nevee read beast tho,so im not sure if shes there but) atsushi escapes the orphanage instead of being kicked out,he roams the streets for awhile mostly sticking to alleys and he eventually finds himself close to ig one of the many bases that the PM has (idk ive never read or watched bsd or beast bsd) and elise is out running an errand(or something IDK WHAT SHE DOES SMH), we all know ellise knows shit she shouldnt,and she recognizes atsushi (idfk maybe she doesnt recognise him,she just finds his hair pretty.) but she takes him to mori and mori takes care of him for some time bcs why not (idk why i made this but,im now realising it makes no sense...) but mori gives him the decision of the port mafia or the ada (this is after a large timeskip btw,atsushi works in rhe shadows and noone,not even dazai knows he works for the pm,everything is essentially like cannon) and he decides he wants to take a break from the mafia for abit {this sounds like a wattpad fanfic,kill me now
and goes to work for the ada,just not in the usual sense, since noone knows who he is and he still works for mori (Queue Cannon) Atsushi basically is a hella good actor. [fuck this idea,all my homies hate this idea. Atsushi is an actor yes but he actually quits the pm instead and goes i to his found family arc.] he decides to join back the pm after the ada goes down Idk but the (current?) arc with dazai and fyodor passes and the pm somehow ends up unscathed but relocated and dazai goes missing [Last i heard he disappeared down an elevator shaft or sumn]

In the original spirit of bsd x genshin crossover I often think about how Teyvat has different "laws" (both world physics wise and legal wise) and Bsd characters would be so fucking ?????? Learning about it
-Jean, Diluc, Lisa would technically count as war criminals
-the archons too
-mondstatd is a country who's government and military are both the same thing and it's not a democracy either (only the members of thr Knights can vote on who becomes Grandmaster and stuff)

The main character is pretty relatable. Theres another character who has family issues and may be trans (or genderfluid? it isnt confirmed but she was born male, currently dresses feminine and hates it when people uses her dead name). Another one who was born a 'Genius' but doesnt really understand art, hes only doing it bcs its basically wat he can only do. Another character who'm gets compared to her older sister and so on. Even minor characters have well written stories
