Sorry but am I the only one that thought that episode…sucked? Like it was straight up bad. Horrible pacing, no wrap up of all the random characters and plot lines they’ve thrown around all season (the tuskegee airmen, Westgates spying, literally all the guys beside like the main 4). (Seriously it makes me so mad that the three redtails got all of 5 seconds of screen time, almost no lines. Literally what was the point of introducing them other than to pretend the show was iNcLuSiVe) Even at the end of BoB and the Pacific you get a much better idea of what happened to all the remaining guys. In this they’re like what happened to DeMarco or Hambone or Brady or (insert character here) we don’t know! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The concentration camp scene felt shoehorned in compared to how it was done in BoB. Unless that actually happened to Rosie (which i haven’t heard anything about) but it was just like.. ok? It all felt so rushed and emotionless to me. Maybe I’ve just fallen out of love with MoTA but it’s been downhill for me since episode 6 or so.
i already made a little (read: long) post-finale write-up here, where i talk about the use of the tuskegee airmen, l'sandra, and overall editing/pacing issues i felt the show had. but i don't agree with the notion that adding the redtails was in any way insincere or trying to halfass being "iNcLuSiVe", i just think they suffer from this show's obvious time constraints. and to summarize what i wrote in my linked post, there's a limit to what white writers/directors/producers can do when creating a story about black people. there are some stories i'd feel uncomfortable with them telling on their own, truth be told. dee rees wasn't the sole nonwhite director, but she Was the only black one. i think she did her job well given the limitations and i appreciate that they let her direct those episodes, rather than leaving it up to a team of white people trying their best to tell a black story.
the worst i can say about the finale is that it didn't feel like That strong of finale, tho i wouldn't go as far to say it "sucked" or call it "straight up bad". i liked it plenty, it's just the weakest of the hbo war finales imo.
as for the concentration camp scene, artistic license was taken with both shows. unlike what's seen in the BoB, easy company wasn't the first to arrive at kaufering, and there's 0 mention of the all-japanese american 552nd who helped them liberate it). similarly, rosie rosenthal did assist in liberating those camps, though it would've been after the events shown this episode. idk if he saw one in that up-close way seen in this episode, but he could've (i should research this when i have time). plus, it would've felt weird Not having him acknowledge them at all. "shoe-horned" is an odd term to use here imo, as both scenes more-or-less center a jewish character (BoB's liebgott and MotA's rosie). the former show has survivors the characters can help, the latter shows no one left to help. the former has all of easy company there, the latter has rosie there all alone. rosie's scene felt deeply personal in that way. at the end of the day, both scenes are communicating different things. that doesn't make one better than the other when they aren't trying to be identical. (disclaimer, i'm not jewish, so i'd be interesting hearing from the perspective of someone who wrt whether or not they felt it was "shoe-horned")
i can understand if you've disliked the show post-episode 6 (and episode 6 was a very strong episode i'm ngl). eps 7 and 8 were weaker in many ways, even to me, so i get it. everyone's entitled to their own opinion (i'd be a hypocrite saying otherwise). just understand that this blog is run by someone who overall enjoys this show despite its flaws! basically, i encourage you to take this energy and make your own posts.
#masters of the air#hbo war#e9#asks#long post#masters of the air spoilers#mota spoilers#all the hbo war finales are different. i don't think MotA's is as strong but like#my fav hbo war show is still BoB and even Then i don't think it has a better finale than TP. and i dislike a lot of TP! like A Lot!#and Even Then we don't get a good idea about what happens to a lot of the minor-er characters in TP once they leave#anyone who isn't sledge or leckie (rip basilone) is hand-waved-'they went home'-away#not every show needs a sandlot ending w/ a voiceover going:#'[NAME] got really into the [INSERT DECADE] and no one ever saw him again' like they did to webster (rip webster)#and again! i'm mixed about the redtails. but i can Very Clearly See this show getting released without including them#which wouldve left many people (justifiably!) upset that they weren't shown when they were Literally there in the same pow camp#i'll give the hbo war team a lot of shit about a lot of things (despite the enduringly positive energy i try to keep up here)#but i Have to give MotA props for Trying. i don't see faux inclusion i just see it as not quite hitting the mark but an attempt was made#and i think that's worth Something given neither BoB or TP bothered trying#(like i think there was a missed opportunity in TP not mentioning what's happening to japanese americans on the home front)#this got away from me (i'm also opinionated) but while i can agree with you about how the show feels rushed#i do take issue with the idea that they were pretending to be inclusive. i'll blame money time and covid19 before i blame bad intention#maybe that's controversial here but it Is my blog. so.

I literally :((( don't even know what to add to this its so prosecco and sweet:( his summer girl:( she doesn't always feel comfortable to lay out and play in the pool at the one at her apartment complex so she lovessssss that h lets her lay out like that at his house where she has all her privacy:( and he loves finding her bikinis in his laundry and ofc finding her out in the backyard w her little book and sunglasses and shes so warm and pliant from the sun and :( and I LOVE the idea of him getting her a little pool tp play in and getting in w her and them jsut :( having their little moment together in the water kissing and cooling down and h is finally getting to relax after work:( BUT OMG :(((( HIM TAKING HER OUT FOR ICE CREAM AND THEIR HAIR IS STILL WET FROM THEIR SHOWER AND SITTING ON THE HOOD OF HIS CAR JSUT :(((((( literally going to start crying this is so sweet

Humans are Space Orcs, “The Admiral’s Children.”
This is also in response to a request someone made, so hope you you guys like it :)
Eris floated through the darkness. She had seen the memories of sunrises and sunsets in other people’s heads, but she had never really seen one herself. Noctopolis was a terraformed world kept artificially livable by a great deal of technologies. It didn’t require the warming heat of the sun.
The warm musty breath of Noctopolis’s metal mines washed up into her face, and not for the first time she regretted inheriting that particular sense from her human donor. She turned, long dark hair flowing around her body in great swirling wisps as she floated back into the hybrid compound.
It was mostly quiet around here, and it had been for a while since the news. She knew it was unrealistic, and hardly fair for Commander Vir that the had collectively accepted his DNA role in their existence. After all, he had not been a willing donor, but out of all the people her hybrids had chosen to emulate, they could hardly have picked a better man, though she recognized her opinion was rather biased.
Still, she had seen inside his head at one point, and seen what thoughts lingered there.
While there were some pretty horrible thoughts, harbored in the back of the head and hidden under the conscious folds -- like every other human -- his greatest urges had been nothing more than kindness and duty to upholding what he believed to be right.
She respected that, and was glad to share his genetic signature.
She hoped that the others would take the opportunity to learn from their surrogate. His sacrifice would hopefully push them towards greatness in the future.
Her long flowing locks brushed against the back of her thighs as she floated inward.
The hair mixed with her sparse ribbons, and hid the strange and useless vestiges from view.
She floated inside smiling reassuringly at her hybrids, who spend their time in various stages of study and play. Play that they were allowed only after all their work was done.
She would not have uneducated hybrids.
Eris herself knew all that she needed to know, as she had the collective memory of anyone who stepped into her circle of thought. It was both a curse and a blessing. A blessing because she had all the life experience she needed to have without ever having to experience it herself, not to mention all of the knowledge that came with it.
On the other hand, she had all the pain and memory of suffering that came with the same, sometimes making it hard to be in the presence of others for too long lest she be overwhelmed by their memories.
Today she sensed sadness and followed its trailed to the next room, where four large figures sat brooding, three of them curled up together and one of them curled up alone in the corner.
The spiderlings were big now, probably as big as they were going to get somewhere between human size and the size of the adaptids. At the shoulder Glados was nearly five and a half feet tall with her ten spidery appendages and doglike head. The soft peach fuzz of human hair that had grown atop her skin had thickened in recent months giving her a light coating of hair so the skin was no longer showing. It was a more pleasant look now that it had been before.
Eris floated over and rested a hand on Glados’s back.
Glados tried to pull away, but Eris kept hr hand there.
She knew what the spiderling wanted despite the spiderling not wanting to admit it.
“I know you miss him.”
“Go away.”
“I know he would miss you too.”
Glados snarled, “No he doesn’t. He left us here to rot.”
She didn’t mean it, but Glados often said things she did not mean in the heat of the moment, so eris did not take it personally.
“He knew what was est for you, so don’t even give me that. And we both know that he loved you.”
“I’m not human.”
Eris sighed inwardly. She sure thought and acted like a human if her raging mood swings were anything to judge by. Eris scooted closer and cradled the large soft head in her arms resisting when Glados tried to get away, “He was unprepared, no more than a child himself when he was asked to take care of you. And he did love you.”
“Then why didn’t he come back?” She wondered softly, her strange robotic voice filling the room with it’s forlorn echo.
Eris went quiet, “I am sure he tried his best little one.”
The news of his memorial had reached them weeks after it had all happened. Granted there were plenty of ways in which the information could have reached them, but somehow things always seemed to come slowly to Noctopolis.
Eris remained there, stroking a hand through Glados’s hair as she sat in contemplation.
His absence had been hard on the entire galaxy. Things had happened that no one had expected to happen following his disappearance including, but not limited to a sudden slow in commerce between worlds, a drop in interstellar tourism, and increasing tensions between specific nations.
The only reason she knew they were managing to hold together had something to do with the burg war.
It was funny how the universe seemed to hinge on the ability of one man to keep himself alive, and one rather dumbass man at that. The thought sort of mad her smile in a sad way, because she knew her thought process wasn’t the truth. It was hardly giving him as much credit as he deserved.
She had chosen to accept him after all.
There was a soft scuttling at the door and she looked up to find the spiderthing walking into the room.
He had grown up quickly, and aside from having a lower half that looked like an adapted, his upper half looked like a gangly tweenage human boy.
“Eris, a ship is coming. They want to talk to you.’
“Do you know them?”
“No, their name is the Omen.”
She had never heard the name before, but she assumed it was her job to go and greet them despite not wanting anything to do with other people at this current moment in time.
She got to her feet patting Glados’s ears before hoving into the next room with a sigh.
She couldn’t sense any thoughts yet, though her range was actually way more limited than she would have liked to admit.
The spiderthing followed along with her as they walked outside and watched the slow descent of the ship.
She floated there adjusting her long, dark tresses.
She liked them long, and hoped that one day she could grow it down to her ankles, despite knowing that was probably a bad idea.
A sharp clattered allerted her to the shuttle touchdown, and she moved forward, barely listening to the inner voices of the people inside. She was sure she would be able to read their intentions when they stepped out.
Eris was not often surprised, but when she was, she really was.
Because she recognized those thoughts the moment they stepped out onto the tarmac.
-I wonder how Glados is going to react to me being alive…. Lets be honest, she is either going to kill me or hug me…. Or totally both-
She froze on the spot, and the spiderthing turned to look at her with great confusion and concern.
-And Eris, she can read minds so she will totally know about how me and Su- no no, don’t think about that, don’t think about that, don’t think about that. Conn already knows, that twinkly bastard, and the less people who know right now the better-
Eris still did not move as another voice intruded on her thoughts.
-I wonder how happy they will be to see him. Will they be angry because that is something I can completely understand…. Still he is rather adorable, it is hard to be mad at him for more than five seconds-- an internal sigh of frustration followed -He is a great exercise of my patience though, if things between us continue to advance this slowly, I am going to be old and desaturated by the time he figures himself out-
Eris shook herself staring forward at the figure who walked up the little walkway towards them.
He had on a beaming bright smile.
When she didn’t move, he simply walked forward and folded his arms around her. He was warm and inviting.
--I hope she is ok with me hugging her. I probably should have asked--
She hugged him back in response, so tight she thought maybe she was going to break him and half hoping that she would.
She pulled back blinking in shock as Adam smiled back at her.
Memories came rushing into her head, and she had to blink a few times to figure it out.
“Wow, a lot has happened to you since you last visited.” She said breathily.
Admiral Vir tilted his head, “Didn’t you know I was coming, I would assume the entire universe would have known by now.”
Eris sighed in frustration and mild anger, “No one tells us anything on Noctropolis, and even less people come and tell US what is going on.”
Behind him, a young woman stood staring wide eyed and nervous at her.
Her thoughts were everywhere -- who is this! The admiral never mentioned a starborn with hair, or a starborn that isn’t wearing clothes…. Am I supposed to look away? I don’t know. And is it just me or do they sort of look alike in some weird way….--
Eris chose to ignore her for the moment. She touched hands on his shoulders and hugged him tight again, “I am so glad you're alive. Everyone was devastated when we got the news the first time…. Glados has been… well she…”
“I missed her too. I missed all of them.”
Eris continued to beam in disbelief.
His radiant smile seemed to lighten up her day as he took her by the elbow, hand resting comfortingly over hers. He was more comfortable with that that he had been before and the reaction made her heart beat just a little faster. For a moment she could almost pretend like she didn’t have the needs of so many people resting on her shoulders
With him there it felt like everything was going to be alright,
She could hear it too, echoing in his own head, the need to take care of everyone just like she felt.
Maybe it ran in the family.
“This place looks amazing, Eris. I can’t believe what you’ve accomplished.”
His compliment spread warmth through her insides like he was pouring warm water down through the tp of her head She beamed, “It’s all thanks to you.”
“You always give me more credit than I am worth.” He laughed
They turned the corner and Admiral vir paused just outside the room looking in, not sure how he was supposed to feel about that was to come next. He wasn’t entirely sure if he should be expecting to get hit or not.
Eris smiled, “I think you are ok to go in.”
***
Glados lay by herself staring at the corner wall her legs tucked underneath her. It just wasn’t fair.
It just wasn’t fair that everyone else was finding all of this so much easier than she was.
Everyone else had always found everything so much easier than she did,
They weren’t so angry all the time like she was and they didn’t miss dad like she did, and no one seemed to see how annoying it was that he had gone and left them here to learn and do school things without even coming to visit, and no one else seemed annoyed that he had stupidly gone off and died without even really thinking about them in the first place.
She thought it was selfish of him.
She hated him for it, but even thinking about hating him just made her want to cry which made her even more angry. None of the others could cry, none of the other had inherited tear ducts like she had. None of the others had to deal with all the stupid human problems than she had inherited above them
None of them got it,
She just wanted to scream in frustration and rage because no one understood her, and even when they did understand her, lke Eris, and sai all the things sh wanted them to say, that didn’t mean she wanted to hear them say the things that she wanted them to say.
Eris was cheating anyway. She didn’t have to try and figure things out like everyone else.
It wasn't hard for her, but it was for Glados.
“Wow, you…. You’ve all gotten big. I remember when you guys hatched you were no bigger than my ifst. Now you might as well be taller than me.”
Glados paused in her musings just long enough to be angry, and then she went back to her brooding.
Another annoying person that she didn’t care to talk to
Behind her the others began to squeal and shout which just made her even more annoyed on top of all the annoyance that she already had. She just wanted them all to SHUT UP.
In anger she turned around, waiting to chase anyone out of the room who dare intrude on her anger and solitude, but as soon as she did that, she froze in place, eyes wide and staring at the figure who knelt on the floor Next to Hal and Cortana.
Before she knew what she was doing, she rushed forward bowling the other two to the side and then mashing the third figure into the floor.
The familiar smell was overwhelming, comforting, and she hated every second of it.
“WHERE WERE YOU!”
She shrieked.
He grunted, “Wow, you talk better than I remember.”
“You were gone FOREVER.”
“I am really sorry about that, but I didn’t mean to.”
Glados snarled, and host pulled back hands raised, “I’m sorry Glados, I am sorry. I didn’t mean to go missing and I am sure you have to know that.” Her hearts were hamming inside her SHe didn’t know mother, and she didn’t know father, but she did know host, and he had left her alone here thinking that he was dead, and now he just turned up
“I hate you.” She snarled
His single green eye softened slightly, and she could see that she hurt him, and though she didn’t want to care, she very much did
She wanted to run away to go feel bad somewhere else, but he sat up tightening his arms around her body until she couldn't move, “Well it doesn't' after if you do hate me alright. I just want to say i am sorry and I love you and there isn’t anything you can do about it.
Her anger melted after a moment ans she gave in in frustration. He was so small now, she could probably rip Host’s throat out with her teeth though the thought made her physically ill to think about. The others scooted forward and pushed at her.
:Move over Glados.”
“Yeah you remember what they said about sharing.”
She snarled but knew that she would only get in trouble if she tried to tell them what she really thought. She tired to move away but Host grabbed her foot and she was unable to move anywhere.
He hugged the others while still keeping her pinned in place, “I missed you all, and wow have you gotten big, what has Eris been feeding you.” Glados finally gave in at some point, knowing there was nothing that she was going to be able to do about this
He had won.
She lay down on the floor and rested her head in his lap as he stroked a hand over her ears.
She listened to him talk without really paying attention.
Humans had such nice voices, and Host had the nicest voice of all.
This was not an opinion, it was a fact and anyone who disagreed with her could take it up with her teeth.
***
Off on the  other side of the room Sunny leaned back against the wall arms crossed over her chest smiling internally to herself as she watched Adam reunited with the spiderlings. Glados didn’t like her much so she decided to stay back, but it was a pretty endearing reunion all the same.
The young lieutenant stood wide eyed off to the side clutching her holo-pad in front of her chest.
Sunny smirked.
“What…. Is all this?” the young Lt asked.
Sunny shrugged.
“Oh those are the spidelrings.”
“The who?”
“The spiderlings. They are the product of an adapted using his body to hatch eggs not long ago.”
“What!” her voice went up a few octaves Sunny reckoned, and she hissed slightly through the breathing holes at the base of her neck. A deep rumble of amusement broke through her chest, “Listen most of the hybrids here are technically his children if you want to mince about with words I suppose.”
Lt Simon just stared at her, “Is this a problem that occurs often?”
“Yes,, you will likely have many alien hybrid children.”
Simon stared at her, and Sunny stared back determined not to let simon know if she was bluffing or not.
It was probably mean to do this to the kid like she had, but it was still kind of funny, and she left her stewing as she walked over to speak with Eris.
They were going to stay for a week or two to make up things to the spiderlings, but then they were going to have to be off again.
Space, wile ancient, waited for no one,

“The gym was a bit empty, not as empty as last night, but thankfully it wasn’t crowded. You scanned the gym for the sight of Jungkook and you spotted him in the ring again with his coach. You weren’t even sure if seeing him was going to make anything better for you, but you walked towards the ring anyway.
‘Oh, Jungkook, your girlfriend.’ His coach said out loud.”

“No. Way. Makoto is the best girl! Did you not see how she held onto Joker when they were in the house?”
“I beg to differ! Futuba is the best girl and the ultimate waifu!”
Lunch was more lively than usual that day. Instead of just Namjoon, Seokjin, and Jimin sitting with you and Jungkook, Jennie and Taehyung joined as well.
Jennie took part in a playful argument with Seokjin and Taehyung about Persona 5’s romance options. Namjoon, Jimin, and Jungkook just smiled along, trying to keep up with their conversation. You, on the other hand, stared at your math notebook at the practice problems you copied from one of your textbooks. Maybe trying to study at the moment wasn’t such a good idea.
“Okay, yeah, yeah. I bet we can all agree that Ryuji should have been a romance option.” Taehyung added.
“Oh, totally! Joker and Ryuji is one of me and y/n’s favorite bro-tps, besides Yosuke and Yu from Persona 4. Right, y/n? Jennie mentioned. “Y/n?”
“What?” You whipped your head up, dazed about whatever conversation just took place. “I’m sorry, Jennie. I’m just swamped right now. I didn’t realize the math competition was at the end of this month until I looked at my planner in first period.”
It was honestly stupid of you to forget about something as important as the math competition. You had it written in your planner, on your calendar in your room, your whiteboard, and on a post-it note on your desk in some sort of red ink. The past weeks were filled with thoughts about the history project, tutoring, and having to keep up with your fake relationship Jungkook. This morning took you by surprise; Jungkook coming over and having breakfast with you and your mom. Plus, you were still having an internal battle about having to initiate physical contact with him.
“You need some help? I think I should know how to solve it because I have a killer math tutor!” Jimin winked at you and you smiled, pointing finger guns at him.
“Alright, I think I got this.” Jungkook scooted closer towards you and lifted your notebook for him to have a better look. “Mhm, mhm. I knew it.”
“What?” You questioned and everyone stared at Jungkook in anticipation.
“I actually do not get any of this.” Jungkook slid your notebook back in front of you and everyone scoffed, Namjoon even tossed a crumpled napkin at him.
“My God..” You laughed and naturally leaned towards your right to place your head on his shoulder. On impulse, Jungkook chuckled along and draped his arm around you.
Jennie’s facial expression didn’t go unnoticed by you and she gently nudged your leg underneath the table. You didn’t tell her about your determination to initiate PDA first so you were preparing yourself for an uplifting speech about how proud she was of you. Honestly, you were looking forward to it. This was pushing your comfort zone, but deep down, it felt nice.
“I’m going to safely assume you’re going to attend the math team’s meeting today?” Jennie asked.
“Yeah. It’s for the best--sorry Jimin, Seokjin. I can’t tutor today.” You pouted and flashed puppy eyes towards the two boys who enjoyed the look you gave them.
“Y/n, it’s okay.” Seokjin squeaked in laughter. “Jungkook, she’s so cute.”
Jennie leaned towards you to cup your cheek. “Yeah she is and she’s mine first, Jeon.”
Jungkook pressed his cheek against the top of your head and squeezed your shoulder. “Don’t worry, Jennie. Y/n is all yours--oh, so do you want me to wait for you until after your meeting?”
Before you spoke, Jennie poked Jungkook’s hand that sat on your shoulder. “It’s alright, Jeon. I’ll wait for her. I haven’t seen her mom in a while, so I think this is the best opportunity.”
“Oh, of course. Okay.” Jungkook smiled and held you closer to him. “I’ll just walk you to the math lab, so wait for me by your fourth period y/n.”
“Okay.” Your eyes were still trained on your notebook and you scanned your eyes across the table, towards the other side of the cafeteria and accidentally made eye contact with Chaeyoung who was staring you down with daggers in her eyes. In a state of panic, you kept your head down and tried to focus on your math problem.
Making Sehun jealous was one thing, but making eye contact with a jealous Chaeyoung was something else.
↠↞
Third period was the same routine: work on the day’s lesson and if there was any free time, work on the history project.
Fourth period flew by and you could barely focus. You had a lot of homework stacked on your plate, making you instantly overwhelmed. The math competition was at the end of the month, the history project was due next month and you were nowhere near assembling the visual aid.
If anymore stress were to be added into your life, you were so sure you were going to cry on the spot.
“Junior year can suck my ass.” You pinched the bridge of your nose and blew out an angry sigh.
“Are you sure you want to attend the meeting? You could always take the day to do homework. I’m pretty sure your teammates would understand.” Jungkook suggested.
“Yeah, I’m sure. It’s important that I go. I don’t think I can afford to miss anymore meetings.” You spoke sadly. “Wait here.”
You took a minute to take your belongings from Jungkook to place inside the math lab. Hani’s face lit up seeing you in the classroom and mentioned how much she missed you. A weak smile appeared on your face and you asked her to wait a moment before catching up with her. Chanyeol was in the corner of the classroom, making copies of some sort of worksheet—you made the decision to greet him later.
As you make your way back to the door, you spotted Jungkook and Sehun standing face-to-face with Sehun’s arms across his chest and Jungkook’s hands stuffed inside his pockets.
Oh no.
“U-Um.” You choked out.
Sehun turned his head and stepped back at the sight of you. “Hey, y/n.”
“Hi, Sehun.” You took your spot next to Jungkook and he automatically wrapped his arm around your lower back and settled his hand on your waist. “Uh, Jungkook? I’ll text you when I get home to let you know I made it safe.”
“Okay, babe. Be careful not to make your head explode.” Jungkook spun you around to have you in a hugging position where you face was buried in his chest. “See you around, Sehun.”
“Yeah. Whatever.” You couldn’t see his face, but Sehun pretty much spat out his reply.
It was quiet for a few seconds and you tilted your head to the side and caught a glimpse of Sehun walking away.
“What happened?” You asked, looking back up at Jungkook who had an obvious crease between his eyebrows.
“Nothing important.” Jungkook stroked your hair before letting you go, and nudging you to go into the classroom. “I’ll talk to you later, y/n.”
You felt uneasy because something definitely happened and Jungkook wasn’t telling you anything, but he smiled sweetly and poked your forehead.
“Everything is fine, y/n. Go on, you have math problems to tackle.”
Even with an assuring smile, you couldn’t shake the tension between Jungkook and Sehun. But Jungkook was right, you had actual problems to solve and you needed to be as focused as possible.
/
“Ohhhhhhhhhh. See, I was trying to use the shortcut formula to figure this out but I guess sometimes you have to take the long way to reach your destination.” Jaehyun, another teammate who arrived later, sighed.
“Yeah, I made that same mistake too, but once you get used to the long version, it’s just as short as the short formula.” You underlined the answer on the whiteboard and took a sip from your water bottle.
To your surprise, you were figuring out math problems with ease. Considering how frazzled you were, you expect yourself to be a complete mess throughout the entire session.
“Okay, let’s pick up here tomorrow. Saero High has a whole bunch of brainiacs this year, but we have to do our best to keep up our streak with them.” Chanyeol spoke. “Plus, we still have community service with the elementary school next week Wednesday, so clear your schedule that day too.”
Although he was speaking to the entire team, if felt as if Chanyeol was speaking directly to you. Come to think of it, he was being short with you the entire afternoon. You greeted him, asked about his day, but his replies were quick and he didn’t even bat you an eye.
Was he that angry with you?
“Y/n, you’ll be here tomorrow right?” Hani asked.
“Yeah I am. What’s up?” You replied whilst organizing your things.
“My sister came back from her trip and she has a lot of packs of those wasabi almonds you like! I’ll bring you some.” Hani’s warm smile melted away some of the exhaustion you were feeling.
“Thanks, Hani—oh! Mingyu, when you see Eunha in your second period tomorrow, can you tell her that Ms. Song gave her the ‘okay’ for the history project? She wasn’t in class today, but she’ll know what you mean.” You called over to Mingyu who was ready to leave the class.
“You got it!”
The class began to empty out but it still felt stuffy, only because it was just you and Chanyeol left in the room. The tension was apparent and it felt like you were about to suffocate if you didn’t leave anytime soon. You had to get out of there. Especially because Jennie was still waiting for you in her car.
“O-Okay, Chanyeol. I’ll see you tomorrow.” You stuttered.
“Wait.” He replied and you froze up. “I need to discuss something with you.”
Chanyeol was finally looking at you with ice in his eyes and all you wanted to do was run away. You hated confrontation with every fiber in your body. You especially hated arguing with people because even if someone raised their voice at you a little, tears would form in your eyes.
Weak? Yes, very weak.
“Where have you been these past weeks?” He asked coldly.
“S-Sorry, Chan. I’ve been extremely busy these days. Homework from other classes, projects, tutoring friends—It’s been draining.” It was your turn to avoid eye contact with him.
“I understand that we all have other classes we have to focus on, but the competition is at the end of this month! You can always use this time for study hall, just be here.” There was a hint of annoyance in his voice. “And tutoring? Who are you tutoring?”
“Oh, um, Jungkook and some of his friends. They’re having trouble in their trigonometry class, so I offered to help.” You spoke softly.
“Ugh, seriously?” Chanyeol scoffed and squeezed his eyes shut. “You have responsibilities here too. They can always find another tutor.”
What the hell is he even saying?
“H-Hey, I actually enjoy tutoring them. It’s always a great time.” You spoke a bit louder this time.
“You’re having a great time tutoring them or having fun spending time with your boyfriend?”
Chanyeol’s comment took you by surprise.
“Why do you even go out with guys like Sehun and Jungkook? For your information, this happened last year too. You skipped weeks of meetings to watch Sehun practice out on the football field.” Chanyeol bluntly said.
“Ex-Excuse me?” You furrowed your eyebrows.
“What’s the point of dating someone who’s not on the same academic level as you anyway? They’re just going to slow you down.”
Your blood was boiling at this point. Was Chanyeol seriously judging you? Was he that angry because you’re dating someone who isn’t as “smart” as you were? He had no right—
You clench your fists and angrily grabbed your backpack off the table. “You know what, Chanyeol? You’re in no position to judge me right now. I’ll see you tomorrow.” In a huff, you left Chanyeol in the classroom ignoring his requests for you to stay.
There were tears stinging your eyes.
Weakness.
What the hell was his problem?! Where did those words even come from anyway? God!
You didn’t need this right now. You were already stressed and frustrated as is and Chanyeol just made everything worse.
With heavy footsteps, you reached Jennie’s car and you spotted her laughing to tears staring at her phone. You smiled and knocked on her window.
“Oh, God, hey.” Jennie said in between laughter as she rolled her window down and unlocked her car.
“Funny video?”
“Just catching up on some vlogs, oh man, I have to show you some videos when we get to your house.” Jennie waited for you to get settled in the passenger seat and watched as you raked your hands through your hair. “You okay?”
“I’ll tell you at home.” You sighed. “Can we get some things for a coke floats and kettle corn popcorn?”
Jennie started her car right away and pulled out of the school parking lot with determination. “Say no more, y/n!”
↠↞
The trip to the supermarket to your house felt like three seconds as Jennie was anticipating for you to spill the tea. Your mother was in the kitchen when you got home and Jennie was delighted to see her. As they caught up, you began popping two bags of popcorn and poured coke over two tall glasses of vanilla ice cream.
Before you vented to Jennie, you spent thirty-minutes watching the videos Jennie wanted you to see. In the midst of frustration, the vlogs were a ray of light, making you laugh until your stomach hurt.
Jennie pulled up another window on your laptop and showcased the outfit one of the girls in the video wore. “Girl, you would look hot in that!”
You scrunch your nose. The outfit was an off-the-shoulder crop top paired with light denim high-waisted shorts; totally out of your comfort zone.
“It’s cute.” You admitted. “But I think it would look better on you.”
Jennie shuffled on top of your bed and sat up. “Ugh, y/n, come on! You would turn heads of both girls and boys! Let’s go to the mall next week and look for something like this. Plus, I need a whole new outfit for my sister’s dance recital.”
“For the cute high school siblings of your sister’s friends?” You chuckled.
“You know me so well!” Jennie laughed. “So, please?”
Your stomach turned at the thought of dressing up in an outfit like that. “O-Okay, I’ll give it a try.”
Jennie practically jumped on you, suffocating you with a hug. “Yes! Love you! Okay, now it’s your turn. What the hell happened during the meeting?”
Ugh.
You explained how tired and stressed you’ve been and that getting into an argument was the last thing you needed. Then, you dropped the bomb and told her about how Chanyeol was pretty much pissed off about how you weren’t attending the meetings.
“What the hell? You have your own responsibilities dude.” Jennie huffed.
“I know, but I’m doing the last questions for the math competition this year like how he did last year.”
“Oh fuck, so you’re doing the hard questions?” She sighed. “But still! You’re allowed to do your own things.”
You sighed. “I guess...but that’s not all..”
You then explained how Chanyeol also blew up about your choice in boys.
“He said what?!” Jennie tossed your pillow off the floor. “You want me to kick his ass? What the fuck is his problem?! He’s judging you about your choice in guys—fuck out of here!”
You flopped onto your back and grabbed another one of your pillows to scream in. “I don’t know what’s his problem, like what did I do…” your voice began to falter.
“Y/n. Can I be honest?” Jennie pulled the pillow away from your face and waited for you to nod your head. “I think Chanyeol is jealous.”
You sat up at an instant. “Jealous?! No, no, no, no, no.”
“Yes! Jealous! Y/n, you need to open your pretty dark brown eyes and realize that guys find you attractive!” Jennie put her arm around you and leaned on your shoulder.
Chanyeol? Jealous?
You’ve known him for a while and spent a lot of time together through the math team, but he was nothing more than a friend to you. Of course, you were dating Sehun last year, so you didn’t notice any signs of him liking you. But it seemed too weird. There was no way Chanyeol was jealous.
↠↞
Jennie left your house around 8 pm and took a pack of popcorn with her. You sat at the dining table with a fresh glass of coke float in front of you. Traces of the jealousy conversation still lingered in your head and it made you plant your forehead on top of your table.
“Everything alright, honey?”
You peeked over to your mother who was heating up leftovers from the previous night for her dinner.
“Yeah, mom, just...stressed.” You said quietly.
“Want to talk about it?”
There was no shame in talking to your mom about your problems, but you didn’t feel like speaking to her about it at the moment.
“Not right now mom. I’ll be fine though.”
Sigh. You felt uneasy.
“Mom, you can have this.” You pushed the glass away from you. “I’m going to go for a drive. I need to clear my head. I won’t go far, I promise.”
“O-Okay, hon’. Just be careful.”
Where were you going? You just started your car and began driving, feeling the fall breeze against your cheeks. If you kept thinking about everything, you were so sure that your brain was going to start melting inside of your skull.
After driving around for fifteen minutes, you pulled into a parking stall.
“What am I even doing here?” You breathed.
In front of you was the gym Jungkook trained at. It was definitely deja vu because you were just here last night but under different circumstances. For a second you weren’t sure if Jungkook was going to be there, but you spotted his car parked near the entrance. You had the choice to turn back around to lay down at home, but you opened your car door and darted towards the entrance doors of the gym.
The gym was a bit empty, not as empty as last night, but thankfully it wasn’t crowded. You scanned the gym for the sight of Jungkook and you spotted him in the ring again with his coach. You weren’t even sure if seeing him was going to make anything better for you, but you walked towards the ring anyway.
“Oh, Jungkook, your girlfriend.” His coach said out loud.
Jungkook let his stance down and whipped his head around to find you several feet away from the ring. His coach gave him the okay to take a quick break to have a chat with you. He hastily took off his boxing gloves and exited the ring.
“What a nice surprise.” He chuckled. “I’d hug you but I’m all sweaty.”
“No, it’s fine.” You hesitated at first, but followed through with the hug you planned on giving him, ignoring the dampness of his t-shirt.
“Hey,” Jungkook leaned you back a bit and held your face with one hand. “You alright?”
Instantly, you cheeks flared. Wha-wha-what is he doing!
“Sorry,” you panicked and let go. “I’ve just been stressed out since this morning, I guess.”
“Nothing got better?”
“No, worse.” You accidentally blurted out. You had no plans on telling Jungkook about your altercation with Chanyeol especially because he was slightly involved.
Jungkook nodded and stroked your hair. “Have you used a punching bag before?”
“U-Uh, no?”
“Okay, Just wait like ten minutes and I’ll get you set up with a punching bag.” Jungkook gently touched your cheek with his fingers and walked back into the ring.
What the hell is up with today?
↠↞
After patiently waiting for Jungkook to finish up, he assisted you in finding a perfect fit for boxing gloves, he even let you borrow one of his t-shirts from his gym bag so your shirt wouldn’t get sweaty.
At first, you were self conscious; you had no idea what you were doing and plus there were people around. You were going to make a fool out of yourself, but Jungkook encouraged you and promised to beat the shit out of anyone who laughed at you.
“A little too extreme, but okay.”
With each punch you threw, Jungkook praised you and encouraged you to hit harder to let out all of your frustrations. It was difficult, but little by little, you were feeling bits and pieces of relief. Your idea of stress relief was five cups of coffee and netflix, but using the punching bag gave the exact same feeling.
Jungkook taught you how to throw an uppercut, how to block, and even a quick lesson on kicking. You were grateful that he took the time to teach you some of the ropes almost like how you tutored him. It was different, but it was exhilarating.
“Here you go.” Jungkook handed you his blender bottle filled with water and protein powder.
You sparred with the punching bag for about ten to fifteen minutes before you threw in the towel. Now, you were in the same spot as last night, sitting on a parking block near your car.
As soon as you are done making his protein shake, he offered you a sip but you quickly rejected it remembering how gross it tasted last night.
“You’re drinking chocolate grass.” You squirmed.
“Trust me, you’ll get used to it after a while. Come on, just one sip.” Jungkook loomed over you and gestured his blender bottle near your lips.
“Fine, but if I die—” you threatened him with your finger pressed on his chin.
You stared up at him with disgust before taking a quick sip of that god awful protein shake. On the other hand, Jungkook looked satisfied.
“So, what happened today?” Jungkook took the bottle out of your hands and sat beside you, barely leaving an inch of space between you two.
“Uhhh, well,” you started off nervously. “I uh, I got into an argument with Chanyeol.”
Jungkook tilted his head. “Chanyeol? That guy is so quiet, I can’t imagine him getting into an argument with anybody, let alone you.”
You chuckled. “I know, but he was just angry about me not showing up to the meetings. I can’t blame him though.” It felt as if this was the thousandth time you were explaining this, even if the only person you told was Jennie; having to admit it to yourself is what gave it extra numbers.
“I-I’m sorry, y/n. I think that’s my fault.” Jungkook dropped his head.
“No, it’s not your fault, Jungkook. I chose to help tutor you guys, it’s fine.” You boldly shifted your body to rest your head on his shoulder. It was a cold night, so even the littlest body heat felt nice.
It was quiet for a moment and within that moment, you were debating if you wanted to tell him about part two of the argument. He had the right to know, right? At the same time, he wasn’t actually your boyfriend so it technically didn’t matter. But ugh. Why were you feeling so damn guilty?
“Um, there’s more actually.” You said quietly.
“Hm?”
“I think Chanyeol was judging my taste in guys.” You admitted sadly.
“What?” Jungkook adjusted his body and you lifted your head to make eye contact with him.
“Y-Yeah.. he pretty much said I should be dating smarter guys..” Your voice grew softer and slower towards the end of your sentence. “And I’m sorry, but I pretty much stormed out instead of defending you or myself because I was enraged about what he said.”
Jungkook sighed and bit the inside of his cheek. He wrapped his arm around your shoulders and rubbed it. “Don’t apologize, y/n.”
“But still…” you lowered your body to rest your head near the crook of his neck.
You felt horrible. The least you could’ve done was defend Jungkook, boyfriend or not, Chanyeol’s words were hurtful. God, you felt like crying. Nothing was going right today.
“Ugh, I want to crawl under a hole!” You exclaimed.
“I’ll join you, then.” Jungkook said and held you closer. “I know I’m not as smart as you are, but I think I’m getting better, thanks to your tutoring and being on my ass about my classes.”
You laughed knowing he was trying to make you feel better.
It got quiet again, but the silence was comforting in a way. You noticed that your friendship with Jungkook was beginning to grow.
In the beginning of high school, you could barely say a word to him. Then junior year rolled around and you saw Jungkook sitting in the corner of the classroom with two of his friends. The first thing Jennie said to you was, “look it’s Jungkook, the guy who put that stupid gum in your hair.”
Nowadays, it was easy to breathe in the same room as Jungkook. Texting and talking to him was always a great time, plus you expanded your group of friends by getting acquainted with his own. It was a wild ride so far, but you were beginning to see the good things flourish from it.
“You know, y/n.” Jungkook started off. “It kind of sounds like Chanyeol is jealous.”
You immediately pulled yourself away from Jungkook. “Oh, please don’t say that because Jennie said the same thing.”
There it was again, the stupid jealousy thing.
“It’s true! I mean think about it, Chanyeol is just as smart as you. He’s pretty much saying ‘hey, you should be dating me instead.’” Jungkook nudged you and chuckled.
You shake your head and facepalmed. The idea of Chanyeol being jealous seemed too out of the ordinary for you and it was even weirder hearing it come from other people.
“You sure have a lot of guys after you, huh?” Jungkook said.
“Guys? After me? Wha--?” You snorted which turned into a full-hearted laugh. “There are no guys, Jungkook.”
“Sure, y/n--hey, you’re going to your team meeting tomorrow right?” He asked, quickly changing the subject. You nodded your head waiting for him to continue. “Would it be alright if I came too? I won’t bother you guys, I’ll just wear some earphones, sit in the back and do my own work. It’ll be like I’m in study hall or something.”
Having Jungkook in the same room as Chanyeol seemed like a risky idea. You were afraid Jungkook was going to say something to keep up his boyfriend-act and more arguments was the last thing you needed. But Jungkook was asking so nicely and being who you were, you couldn’t say no.
↠↞
“Just text me if you need me for anything. I’ll be able to hear my phone vibrate against the desk.” You set out your history and math notebook in front of Jungkook.
“Alright. Just let me know when you guys are going to clean up soon.” He stuffed his earbuds in his ears and winked at you. “Have fun, babe—oh, hey, Chanyeol. Don’t worry. I’ll just be back here.”
You looked over to the side where Chanyeol was grabbing a few papers from the printer. He pressed his lips together and gave Jungkook a small nod.
Could this be any more awkward?
Thankfully, Jungkook remained calm and collected. He kept his nose in the books and checked his phone a few times; he even sent you a few memes, so you had to stifle your laughter whenever he did. However, you could tell there was obvious tension and you were so sure the rest of your teammates could feel it too.
You thought about wanting to apologize or running out of the classroom as soon as the meeting was done, but apologizing seemed like the best choice. Even if you already said it, maybe it would be best to say it again in a more formal matter.
“Y/n, did I do this right? Because if a problem like this shows up during the competition, it’s going to be over for me I know it—I can feel it in my bones.” Eunha buried her face in the crook of her arm as she handed you her paper.
“Let’s see…” you muttered.
Hmm…she got the square root…okay, she remembered to keep the parentheses...hm?
You looked up from the paper and made eye contact with Jungkook who seemed to be in a daze. His elbow was on top of the desk with his chin settled in his palm. Studying for an hour was probably deep-frying his brain, so you shot him a sweet smile to encourage him to keep going for a little while longer.
Jungkook reflected the same smile and went back to scribbling away in his notebook.
“Ugh. You guys are so cute.” Hani whispered.
“Th-Thanks.” You muttered realizing your cheeks were starting to feel warm.
After a few more exercise problems, Chanyeol called the meeting to a close and added that tomorrow’s meeting will be canceled so everyone can catch up on school work or extracurricular activities. You waltzed over to Jungkook and instructed him to put your guys’ things in his car for the time being because you wanted to print out a few articles for the project.
“Okay, I’ll come back though so we can walk together.” He gathered the bags, but left your binder so you could keep the papers nice and tidy.
You scrolled through social media as you waited for the last of the ten pages to be printed out. It was a good thing the printer sat near the door so you could just turn on your heel and walk out when it’s done printing.
“Alright, that’s it. That is the fifth photo of iced coffee I’ve seen—maybe Jungkook won’t mind going to a coffee shop before dropping me off home.” You muttered to yourself.
“Y/n?” Chanyeol approached you, keeping a two-foot distance.
“Y-Yeah?”
He tugged at the end of his sweater and stared at his toes before looking at you. “I’m uh, I’m really sorry for my behavior yesterday. I shouldn’t have said those things. I don’t know what’s gotten into me lately. I guess I’m exhausted as well.”
“It’s okay, Chanyeol.” You smiled, satisfied that he apologized first. “I’m really sorry too—for not attending any of the meetings lately. I’ll do better.”
Chanyeol smiled back at you and you noticed a light pink hue across his cheeks. He reached out and rested his hand on top of your head. “You’re doing fine, y/n. I know you’ll do great during the competition.”
“Y/n? Are my earphones on the desk?”
Jungkook’s voice came from a short distance and Chanyeol retracted his hand back to his side.
“U-Uh, oh! They’re actually on the floor.” Chanyeol stammered and pointed at the red wire sprawled on the tiles.
“Oh shit, thanks, Chanyeol.” Jungkook crouched down and curled up his earphones to stuff them inside his pocket. “Ready?”
You collected your binder and held Jungkook’s hand, lacing your fingers in between the spaces of his own. “Yeah. Bye Chanyeol!”
Before leaving, Jungkook reached out to fist bump Chanyeol who seemed to be standing awkwardly on the side.
You seemed to be in a much better mood, probably because everything seemed to be alright with Chanyeol. Although the idea of him being jealous still hasn’t left your mind, you decided to not dwell on the thought that much.
“Can we go to a coffee shop before dropping me off home? It seems like everyone has an iced coffee and I feel so left out.” You pouted thinking about the creamy taste of an iced hazelnut latte. Cold weather or not, you were always going to choose an iced coffee over anything else.
“Sure. Is your mom home? We can get her a cup of coffee too.” Jungkook offered as he opened the passenger door for you.
“That’s so sweet, Jungkook. Okay.” You smiled at him as he closed the door.
Since you were free tomorrow after school, you thought it would be the best time for you and Jungkook to finally work on the details of the visual aid of the history project. It was shocking how much eager you were to work with him these days compared to when the project was assigned. It probably had to do with the fact that you were spending more time with him or maybe your willingness to act more like a girlfriend. Either way, it was a positive change.
“Oh yeah, there’s no meeting tomorrow so did you want to work on the poster board for our project tomorrow after school? We can work on it at my house if you’re not busy.” You asked, watching Jungkook fasten his seatbelt.
“Yeah, sounds great.”
“Perfect! Okay. We really need to work our asses off tomorrow.” You fist pumped into the air and you caught a glimpse of Jungkook smiling down at you. There was a small feeling of uneasiness in his smile that you couldn’t ignore. Maybe he was tired from studying for so long?
Hmm..
However, now was not the time to overthink anymore negative feelings because for the first time in a while, you felt as if there was a little more life pumped into your veins. You planned to exercise peace and positive vibes from here on out.
What could go wrong?

This episode starts with Aine and Mio appearing on TV. PP,HC and Raki are watching and can't seem to find out whats missing. This goes on until Wakaba walks in as the commercial plays on loop. "Huh? You two collabed with Yume?" Mio nods as her gaze remains fixed on the screen. "Then you two should sing together. Mio feels Vivid Inspiration and Aine turns to her. "That's what's missing. We need a song together!"
They send Raki to find Yume and she takes a bus to Yotsuboshi. As she's looking for Yume she runs past a woman carrying beautiful blue flowers. Raki stops and stares up at the woman's red eyes.
It's Hotaru. She mentions that she's on her way to Venus Ark. Raki asks her whether she's seen Yume. Hikaru's sister tells Raki that she'swith the S4. Raki finds Yume,Ruka,Mahiru and Ako. To her surprise they were also watching the commercial.Raki takes S4 to Star Harmony
The song writing process begins as Yume, Mio and Aine start writing As they work away the rest of S4 has fun outside. Maika and Ruka  dance together as Ema talks to Ako about the movie she made. Kirara shows up and her and Ako start to bicker. Yume stops writing and opens the curtain tps tare outside. Koharu is standing behind her with candy and notices something is wrong. She walks up behind her and tells her to join them. She tosses Raki a candy through the window and walks out to meet her. Yume and PP realise they were being too serious and decide to have fun with the song. As they work on it late into the night they fall asleep. Raki and Koharu walk in to cover them in blankets and steal a peek at the lyrics.
The next day Yume and PP unveil their new song together as part of a children’s show on television. The song is Feeling Of Justice and the Appeal is Rainbow Palette Flight. A variation of Trio Flight from Aikatsu Season 3. As the show ends, PP and Yume celebrate at Star Harmony. Hotaru arrives to pick up Kirara in the middle of the party.  Ako asks what they’re up to and Kirara says that Elza seeks an Aikatsu that surpasses all worlds. Ako is confused. Kirara seems a little more serious than usual and that detail unnerves her. The episode ends with a shot of Elza with cards of every idol that has appeared so far( In Aiparade)
 Episode 17- The Explosive Dynamo
Tumblr media
The episode starts with Raki looking for inspiration. She plans on designing a new PR but doesn’t know where to start. Aine arranges for her to have a sit down with Chiharu and sadly, nothing comes of it. At the end, a disappointed Chiharu suggests they go outside. “Are we looking at nature?” Raki asks. “No,” Chiharu says, “I simply want to show you something new. It’s a new phenomenon that only happens once a day.” Chiharu leads Raki to the field as Wakaba runs up to them. “You’re just in time.” Wakaba stares up at the dusk sky as three silhouettes emerge from the clouds. The three girls decline as Raki is left stunned by their skill. They eventually hold hands and begin to rotate as they launch their parachutes. They land at roughly the same time to the applause of their audience. “Excellent!” “Yes!” Hibiki and Kaede pose together as Mirai walks nonchalantly toward the girls. She mentions that the timing was a bit off but with some work it would be perfect. Raki asks who the other girls are. “Together we are Dynamo! Hibiki! Kaede! Mirai!” Wakaba squeals in excitement and mentions that Mirai trains her. (She’s more of a fangirl in this rewrite)
Hibiki mentions she needs to get to Venus Ark and runs off as Mirai wipes off her sweat. Kaede pulls flowers out of her hat and Wakaba loses it. She says she can’t wait to form a Friends and get to Mirai’s level. Raki realizes she doesn’t have a Friends unit either. She thinks to herself that Wakaba would be a great fit. Almost as if she read her mind Wakaba wants to perform with her instantly. Mirai is hesitant but says she’s intrigued by the pop they’ll produce. “Would you like to see Wakaba’s stage?” Mirai asks Raki. She agrees but Chiharu mentions its really late. The following morning Wakaba walks into Raki’s room and invites her to watch Dynamo’s practice. They sit by as Wakaba tells Raki all about Love Me Tear. Raki is overwhelmed and simply starts to talk about Dresses. Wakaba shows her the Humming Leaf cards and Raki’s eyes are caught by the Tiroler Tangerine Coord. She adores the lace over the middle of its bodice. Mirai smiles as she sees them getting along.
Dynamo puts on a live that evening for the Star Harmony students. Their song is Nice To Meet You! As for the coords, I like that Luminas sometimes wore somewhat matching coords from their individual brands. So here, Hibiki wears Dazzling Purple Coord. Mirai wears the Arabian Marble Coord. Kaede wears the Parallel Hunter Coord. As they watch the show together, Raki and Wakaba promise to get better together. Wakaba gives Raki a clover and makes a pun about her being lucky. The two promise to form a Friends once they become better idols. The last shot is of the clover pressed into the pages of Raki’s design books. (Coords for this episode below)

Episode 18- The Jewel of Solvette
Tumblr media
Once again, Raki is doing research on dresses and decides to look up Dynamo. She sees a few articles about the members and realizes that she doesn’t know who Hibiki’s partner is. In the Aifriends rewrite I did, season two ends with Believe Me Tear(IB+LMT) VS Honey Palette(HC+PP) Raki looks up Alicia and is left stunned by the Jeweling Dress. There aren’t too many results as Alicia wasn’t as popular in Japan as the rest of Believe Me Tear. She logs onto a Solvette fan site and asks where she can see more of the dress. The fans inform her that the cards were stored in Solvette’s museum as a national treasure. This leads Raki to look for Hibiki as a meand to get to Solvette. The first stop on her search for Hibiki takes her to Wakaba.
“It’s you again!” Wakaba says. She runs up to Raki who asks where Mirai and the rest of Dynamo are. Wakaba tells her that they were training with Kaede at the moment. She asks her if there’s any way to find Hibiki directly and Wakaba mentions that she has her number. On a video chat with Hibiki she mentioned that she could have Raki come to Solvette in a week due to the processes. Raki smiles. Wakaba ends the call and asks Raki to take a break from designing by watching her stage. Wakaba performs This World is Wonderful in the Tiroler Tangerine Coord. Raki adores the stage and tells Wakaba she no longer seems like an idol rookie. Wakaba tells Raki that she’s not much of a rookie either. “You’ve performed with great idols and made amazing dresses”
Throughout the week, Raki sketches in her book as she receives visits from Koharu and Sora. They even bring her a mannequin. As the week passes by, Raki gets a passport and packs her luggage. At the end of the week she heads to the airport and meets Yume when she gets there. “What are you doing here?” Raki asks. Yume tells her that she has someone important to meet there. The two board the plane with Hibiki. Ideally the song, “Brand New Girl” from Prichan would be playing during this whole section to set the mood. As Raki alights she looks exhausted. Hibiki tells her that she must have really wanted to come. The three exit the airport.
The first thing that happens is that we hear a voice call out to Yume. Rola runs up to her and they hug and hold hands (like in the Aistars movie) This is immediately paralleled by I Believe reuniting. Raki nervously walks up to Alicia, fully aware that she’s royalty. Her guards stand before Raki. Alicia turns to face her and asks what she wants. Raki presents her cards and asks Alicia if she would let her perform in those cards. Alicia smiles mildly. She says that she is flattered. After seeing how much effort Raki put into it she claims she can see the love poured into the design. Alicia approves of the cards and lets Raki perform. Raki performs Your Entrance in the Jeweling Dress PR. Afterward Raki is exhausted and has to sleep on the way back to Japan. Alicia returns to Japan as well and tells Hibiki that she sees her younger self’s passion for Aikatsu in Raki. Rola feel asleep on Yume’s shoulder in the seat behind her.
 Episode 19-Return of Rock
Tumblr media
This episode opens with a guitar riff blasting through the Dream Academy Dorms. Noelle wakes up in frustration. She knows her sister is up to something and marches off toward her usual training stop. Seira and Rola are having a competition that has been going on since dawn. Yume is huddled in the corner covering her ears as Headmaster Tiara watches with glee. Eventually Seira and Rola both give in as Yume reveals Rola didn’t even eat Breakfast when she discovered a rocker nearby. This seems pointless to Tiara who interrupts and sees the opportunity for an event. She wants to make an event out of it. The opening plays here.
After the opening Raki receives a call from Ichigo. She mentions that Seira will be competing against Rola and would like her to watch. Raki agrees and informs Tamaki. Hariu is present at the time and suggests that Reflect Moon should accompany her. Sakuya and Kaguya join her in the taxi and she sits in the middle back seat. Sakuya instantly sleeps on the window. Raki shows Kaguya the Dark Lolita coord. Kaguya comments on Raki’s growth as a designer.  They arrive at Dream Academy and notice a crowd. The driver comments that some of Rola’s foreign fans have showed up.  There is a big poster on Dream Academy’s building depicting Rola and Seira wielding guitars like swords.
Rola is in her dressing room with Yume and Koharu who gives her candy. Mahiru rushes in to hug her followed by Ako and Tsubasa’s arrival. They reminisce on the events of Rola’s departure in Aistars season 2. Ako tells Rola that she’d better win but Rola says that winning isn’t her goal but rather going all out on stage. Ako huffs and says that she should do her best anyway. She then walks out to join Noelle on the main stage. Noelle tells the audience that Ako will entertain their children until the main event and steps off stage. Ako smiles nervously and asks herself why she chose to do this. Her smile fades when she sees Kirara join her. She brings Caroline with her which really gets the children going and then they perform Please Mary. Kirara wears the Marchen Lollipop Coord and Ako wears the Fluffy Cat Coord.
Afterward we cut to Raki buying merchandise with Akari and PP. They stop by a stand selling unit themed ribbons and Akari instinctively picks a 2wings Ribbon. They all try on other ribbons and have candy pops with Madoka and Rin. Sora and Maria are helping the event run smoothly. Elsewhere, Aria and Rey are walking about in disguises. “Elza wants us to stay focused on her project but we need to have fun too.” Rey tells Aria. They continue to sneak around
With all that said and done, the crowd all gather at the main stage. The clock strikes three and Noelle introduces the two rockstars. Rola walks on from the left with Yume at her side. Seira walks on from the right with Ichigo by her side. “And now, let the event begin!” Rola performs Miracle Force Magic in the Rocking Melody Chord with her season 2 aura. Seira performs Idol Activity(Rock) in the Pinkish Union Coord. Once the stages are over, they both stand on stage exhausted.
The voting begins and the votes are adding up rapidly and stop right in the middle. Noelle announces a tie and the crowd goes wild. Seira tells Rola that if she’s Re then she’ll just be Mi. Rola says that they’ll continue through them and they’ll have a rematch someday. Raki goes backstage and meets Yume,Rola,Seira and Ichigo. They talk a little and we see Raki’s sister outside the dressing room door. She walks away with a smug smile and the episode ends.(All coords used appear below)

Episode 20- Double Moon Miracle
Tumblr media
This scene opens in Elza’s office. Mizuki and Hime sit across the table with Elza holding her head in her hands. Kirara, Rey and Aria stand outside the office eavesdropping with concerned expressions. “You’re time is up Elza.” Hime starts, “You had your chance to recruit Mizuki and I to Venus Ark…however we are still far too powerful to affiliate with an idol school.” Elza tries to retort but her mouth remains shut. “While we acknowledge your prowess, your dream to plunder all the greatest idols is far from reality.” Mizuki and Hime stand up to leave and Elza bangs on her table and holds up a set of cards. Hime turns and smiles, “That power is well known to us.” With that the two moon idols leave Elza’s office.
Cut to Starlight Academy as Mizuki gives Hime a tour. “This is where I started Hime, being Starlight Queen was merely the first step for me. The position is similar to your S4 position.” A few students run up to Mizuki and she gives them her autograph.
“Aren’t you worried that you’ve grown rusty?”Hime asks. Mizuki turns and her aura appears.
“I don’t think so, have you?” Mizuki and Hime turn to face eachother. “There’s only one way to be certain.
Rumors soon spread that Mizuki is back in Starlight. This spreads to the other schools and their students buzz up. Reflect Moon tell the other Star Harmony girls that top idols of the moon will be performing at 4Star. Yozora lets the other girls know and metions even regional idols will be present.
4Star fills up with idols and fans as Hikaru sells them tickets. Anna berates him for still trying to save 4Star financially but he reminds her that her salary will come from the sales. Carol Alice shows up with a camera and reunites with Yume. “Elza wouldn’t come here herself and so she had me record it for her.” She reveals the hidden camera in her bonnet and sits down to watch. Mizuki and Hime perform Start Line in their LPRs. They have two appeals. Double Premium Moon Jewel and Double Premium Eternal Moonlight. The show ends and the crowd is left silenced. The silence stretches out as Hime and Mizuki walk off stage. The whole crowd erupts into applause. Hime and Mizuki congratulate each other and share a cup of tea backstage. They sit across each other on a table and Mizuki places a flower pot between them. “A new Aikatsu is blooming.” Mikuru says. The last shot is the flower pot with a seedling.

fic rec masterpost
I finally have enough fics to start compiling them in one place!  Just a few notes before we get started:
This list will be updated in the future!  I’m putting everything under a cut, so I can add, edit, and remove things to my liking.
All fics are complete, unless otherwise noted.
Feel free to send in your own suggestions for additions!
Some of these fics didn’t have proper author-ordained summaries, so I wrote some of them up myself, or edited them to be more summary-like.
No matter how good the plot, dialogue, or prose is, no fic containing explicit sexual content (read: smut) will make it onto this list.  Sorry!  I’m not into that sort of thing.
————
And now: to the fics!
(Re: the “relationship” segment - I’ve taken to using AO3′s tag system here, so a forward slash ( / ) indicates or hints at a romance, while an ampersand ( & ) is meant to be more familial or platonic.  And don’t worry - if there’s a slash between two characters who are children, there won’t be anything nasty in there.  They’re just kids!)
twilight princess
title: Chiaroscuro
author: Xekstrin
words: 1,861
tags: Post-Canon, Drama, Bittersweet
relationship: Link/Midna, Link/Zelda, Midna/Zelda
summary: Zelda and Link learn how to talk to each other. They paint a picture of someone they miss.
notes: Don’t shy away from that weird title!  A beautiful depiction of Link and Zelda’s life after the broken mirror that involves them continuing to live their lives.  And not, y’know, wallowing in angst.
————
title: From the Shadows
author: Ophelia_Black
words: 59,438 (**ONGOING**)
tags: Post-Canon, Alternate Ending, Marriage of Convenience
relationship: Midna/Zelda
summary: The Shadow Invasion left wounds across both Hyrule and the Twilight Realm, and neither Zelda nor Midna are eager to face the task of binding them up. Old prejudices and weaknesses are laid bare, and the idea is posed of reuniting the two realms to prosper together. Is their plan a folly born of desperation, or the most revolutionary undertaking either kingdom has seen in centuries?
notes: After putting it off for a long, long while, I finally dipped into this bad boy, and man oh man, I was not disappointed.  There is so much attention to detail and care that has gone into breathing life into a world we get such a small glimpse of in the game, and Ophelia kicks ass at writing even the simplest of actions.  Did I mention Midna and Zelda are gonna get married?
————
title: Fairytales
author: UnderTwilight
words:  515
tags: Humor, Fluff
relationship: Link/Midna
summary: Link believes he has the solution the imp-sized problem his companion faces.
notes: Short, sweet, and not as incredibly out-of-character as so many other fics like it.  Worth a minute of your time.
————
title: not irreversible
author: Elendraug
words: 3,603
tags: Post-Canon, Happy Ending
relationship: Link/Midna
summary: The Mirror’s destruction was not inevitable, but destroyed it very much was.  He’ll find his way back to her.  No matter how long it takes.
notes: The very first Midlink fic I had the pleasure of reading, and still one of my favorites.  As of this writing, the only reunion story I’ve read that didn’t feel cheap and lazy.
————
title: Bartending 101
author: khaki knight
words: 2,538
tags: Post-Canon, Drama
relationship: Link/Midna, Link/Ilia (Implied One-Sided)
summary:  “A bartender is only ever as content as her customers…” In the aftermath of Twilight, Telma receives an unexpected guest in need of some guidance.
notes: What can I say?  I love me some Telma.  Is it because she’s a bartender?  That’s it, isn’t it?  I blame the DnD lover in me.
————
title: Seeing You
author:  KaeStela
words: 840
tags: Post-Canon, Bittersweet
relationship: Link/Midna
summary:  Maybe "see you later" can happen after all.
notes: Who knew that first-person could be written well after all?  This is the kind of stuff I live for.  Thematic, succinct, mute Link, happy but not “she found her way back after like a year and they got married and had babies” happy.  Simply beautiful.
————
title: The Ever Under
author: AzarDarkstar
words: 2,031
tags: Alternate Ending, Drama
relationship: Link/Midna
summary:  In a world where Link followed Midna through the Mirror of Twilight, now shattered beyond repair, happy endings are what we make of them.
notes: This one hits hard.  That’s all I’ll say.
————
title: No Such Counsel
author: Guardian1
words: 2,753
tags: Post-Canon, Drama
relationship: Link/Midna, Link/Zelda (Implied One-Sided)
summary:  “Wolf or dog, what does it matter?” “Dogs, Princess–dogs wait forever!”
notes: Admittedly, I don’t much like the way Zelda is characterized here (TP Zelda is obviously a lesbian, and damn, leave poor Ashei alone!), but I’m including it because it’s written fairly well and the ending is humorous and clever.
————
title: You
author: godtierGrammarian
words: 4,272
tags: Alternate Universe (Modern), Happy Ending
relationship: Link/Midna
summary:  When Link is eight, new neighbors move in across the street, and so begins the greatest adventure of his life.
notes: This fic was so damn good I made a FF.net account right after I read it for the first time just so I could review it.  Can you believe that?  Making a FF.net account in 2019?  I didn’t even think a modern AU could be good!
————
title: no matter how long it takes
author: Elendraug
words: 1,128
tags: Mid-Canon, Fluff
relationship: Colin/Ralis
summary:  Colin promises to watch over a sick Prince Ralis after he is brought to Kakariko.
notes: This is one of the first rarepairs I ended up getting swept up into around the time I first started this blog.  I am eternally grateful that even a single fic exists, and that is was written but the same person who wrote not irreversible, because that’s just damn good writing.  Anyways, Colin is a Young Gay, change my mind.
————
majora’s mask
title: King of the Fishing Hole
author: Ibijau
words: 4,281
tags: Alternate Universe, PTSD
relationship: Link & Ganondorf
summary: Ganondorf owns the Swamp Fishing Hole, a good way to stay near his aging mothers. It's quiet work. Until the moon starts falling, and an odd child comes visiting.
notes: Ganondorf is just A Dude in Termina - honestly, this is how the game should have been.  A real missed opportunity there.  This was such a fun and interesting read, so much so that it earns its spot as the first non-TP fic on this list!
————
minish cap
title: Stoneheart
author: Ophelia_Black
words: 6,675
tags: Canon Compliant, Angst with a Happy Ending
relationship: Link & Zelda
summary:  The prophetic visions and blind musings of Princess Zelda as she waits, sealed in stone, for a rescue that might never arrive.
notes: I’ve never given Minish Cap much more than a single playthrough without a spare thought, and this made me cry. You’d think a story told from the point of view of someone who has been turned to stone would be boring.  You’d think wrong.
————
other
title: Don’t Say That I Didn’t Love You
author: Ophelia_Black
words: 4,000
tags: Canon Compliant, Angst & Hurt/Comfort
relationship: Midna/Zelda, Link/Midna, Hilda/Zelda, Link/Marin
summary:  It’s hard to say goodbye. A series of 500 word drabbles, in which final farewells are said to Fi, Ezlo, Navi, Tatl, Midna, Aryll, Marin, and Princess Hilda.
notes: Like it says on the tin.  There’s not much I can say here, except, y’know, read it, because everything Ophelia puts to paper is pure gold.  Spoiler alert: the Link’s Awakening one hurts the most.

Christmas in Lights | Junmyeon (part 1)
Tumblr media
Genre: Fluff, Comedy, Neighbor!AU
Pairing: Junmyeon x Reader Word Count: 2701 Warnings: None! Summary: Kim Junmyeon has been your sworn enemy ever since he beat you in the annual town Halloween decorating competition and now you will stop at nothing to beat him in the Christmas decorating competition. (This is part 1 of a 2 part story)
A/N: This was written as part of the @exo-writers-net December Collab Event! I was lucky enough to be partnered with @morkmywords I absolutely love all of her fics (I personally recommend Not Really a Cinderella Story and Peaches). And we’re sorta down to the wire on posting these, but better late than never, right??? @morkmywords wrote part 2!
PART 2 HERE
You looked up from your paperwork when the door to your office opened. Walking in the door was Kim Seju, a third grader and also your most frequent visitor. He was holding his elbow and had a small frown.
"Miss (Y/N)?" He asked with a frown.
You gave him a smile, "How's it going, Seju?"
He held out his arm out toward you, "I fell down and scraped my arm while I was playing tag."
You pressed your lips together, trying to not laugh as you reached for your first aid kit. This was the third time this week. This kid always got hurt in some way. Good thing your
He went over to his usual chair in the office and sat down next to you as you opened up the kit. You started to clean his scrape with the alcohol wipe. You started to talk to him to distract him from the pain.
"Any plans for winter break, Seju?" You asked, careful to not press down too hard to cause him more pain.
Seju winced, "Not really. It'll just be me and my dad this year. Dad doesn't have a girlfriend this year or anything so we don't have to go anywhere which is nice."
You nodded as Seju rambled on. You had already placed the bandage on his scrape but he didn't notice. You couldn't help but find his rambling endearing. At the mention of the lack of holiday plans, you had to hold yourself from scowling.
"So you and your dad are just staying home this year, huh?" You asked, a little bitter.
Seju looked at you, confused. "Yeah? But what about you, Miss (Y/N)?"
You shrugged, "I don't have any plans with family. My sister decided to go to the Bahamas with her husband. So I'm all alone this year."
For the third year in a row, you couldn't help but think bitterly. Well, you could blame it on her lavish lifestyle. She had certainly changed ever since she won the lottery.
Then again, she did gift you a house that you wouldn't have been able to afford on a school nurse salary. It was in a nice neighborhood, though you couldn't help but think it was probably the cheapest one.
You didn't have any actual plans for Christmas, but you had more important plans leading up to it. Possibly diabolical ones.
As if summoned by your thoughts, the door to your office opened again.
Walking in wearing a dark gray suit was Kim fucking Junmyeon.
He looked around the office confused until his gaze rested on you. He smiled wide, his eyes crinkling slightly.
"Knew I'd find you here," he said.
Not at you. But the boy sitting next to you.
"Dad!" Seju exclaimed, jumping out of his seat super fast and running to his father.
You watched as Junmyeon bent down to give Seju a hug. And if it were any other parent, you would have found this a cute scene.
Junmyeon locked eyes with you over Seju's shoulder, smirking. It made you seethe.
"What are you doing here?" Seju asked when he pulled away from the hug.
Junmyeon smiled and patted his son's head. "I'm pulling you out of school for your dentist appointment, remember?"
Seju pouted. "I hate going to the dentist."
Junmyeon laughed. "Well, if you don't have cavities, we can make cookies tonight, okay?"
"Really?"
"Of course!"
The bell rang, signaling the end of recess. Junmyeon nudged his son. "You go get your stuff and meet me back here, okay? I already talked to the office and your teacher."
"Okay!" Seju exclaimed, running out of the office. "Be back!"
Part of you hoped that Junmyeon would leave or wait outside, so your veins thrummed when he simply hung around.
"You going to the meeting later?" Junmyeon asked, leaning on your desk. You wanted nothing more than to smack his arms away.
"Do I really have a choice? Minseok would skin me alive if I skipped," you scoffed.
Minseok never forgave poor Baekhyun when he skipped a neighborhood community meeting to sleep early. He had put Baekhyun on cleanup duty for the three months after.
You locked eyes with him and he smirked. You wanted to slap it off of his face.
"I think he's going to announce the Christmas decorating contest tonight. Are you prepared to lose again? Ready for a repeat of Halloween?" he teased.
If you were a cartoon, steam would have been coming out of your ears. He laughed at your expression.
Seju opened the door once again, his backpack haphazardly thrown on. "You ready to go, Dad?"
"Yeah, let's go, buddy." He went to the door but turned around and winked at you. "I'll see you later, Miss (Y/N)."
Seju waved at you enthusiastically. "Have a good day, Miss (Y/N)! Thank you for the band-aid!!"
You gave the child a small wave back. You also tried not to look at Junmyeon's butt as he walked away.
You failed.
Shit.
Neighborhood community meetings were always interesting. You figured it was a perk to knowing everyone It gave you the chance to see people you were otherwise too busy to see due to differing schedules. Like Zhang Yixing, who travelled a lot but always made time to come to each meeting. And Do Kyungsoo, who always made enough food for everyone. Especially after the time Jongin was in charge of the food and gave everyone food poisoning because of bad fried chicken. It also gave everyone the opportunity to gossip like the catty housewives they pretended they wanted to be. Like Kim Jongdae, who was once again passive-aggressive in telling Chanyeol that his bushes were three inches too high for regulation. You had no idea if Chanyeol was playing dumb or if he genuinely didnt pick up what Jongdae was trying to tell him. You sat towards the back of the hall that was usually used for these meetings. You looked up when you felt someone take the seat next to you. Oh Sehun slumped in his seat, which you found odd because he usually had perfect posture. He sipped at his coffee that was usually provided at these meetings. His eye bags were dark and extreme. "Everything okay?" You asked. "I've been up for thirty hours," he mumbled. "Why?" He opened his mouth to answer but was interrupted by Minseok who stood at the podium. He looked adorable in his Santa hat. "I'm glad that everyone could make it today!" He greeted warmly. "We have a bit to talk about today but I'll cut to the chase with our more exciting news. We are hosting another round of our Christmas decorating contest!" You squeezed the hem of your skirt tightly in anticipation. "This year's theme is Lights! So make sure you make your house light up the night this year!"  Minseok announced. He rambled on but your eyes trailed over to where you knew Junnyeon was sitting. You had been hyper aware of him ever since he entered the room. He looked over and locked eyes with you, a growing smirk on his face. You scowled. What a dick. "Are you still mad about him beating you on Halloween?" Sehun asked, you could tell from his teasing tone that he was amused. "Of course. What's passed is past. I just think it was ridiculous that he won even though Nightmare Before Christmas is clearly a Christmas movie and not a Halloween movie," you scoffed. "You're such a sore loser," Sehun chuckled. "Just you watch asshole," you grumbled. "I'm gonna beat him this year."
To say that you and Junmyeon had a history would be ridiculous. You had known him for a little less than a year, and for most of it you thought that he was a perfect gentleman. He definitely had his cool and suave sides, accentuated by the way he dressed in his suits for work. There was a charm about him that drew you to him immediately. It also helped that he was incredibly attractive. You felt yourself melt every time he threw a smile toward you. You could say that you harbored a little tiny crush on him. And then Halloween happened. Your neighborhood was famous—borderline notorious—for the Christmas decoration contest held every year. And for the last five years (including the first year that the house was gifted to you by your millionaire sister) the title for Best Decorator had been yours for the last five years. You were gifted a reindeer shaped statuette each year with the title Best Decorator and the year etched under it on its base. It was perhaps a little bit overboard, but you appreciated the sentiment and had each statuette proudly displayed on the mantle of your fireplace. So when a Halloween version opened up this year, you gunned for first place as well. You spent a lot of time researching fog machines and projectors. You went to haunted houses with the intent on taking notes on how to successfully make a scary aura. You had thought that your only competition would be Sehun, who thought that TP-ing his own house counted as Halloween decorating. Oh, how wrong you were. Kim Junmyeon won the title for Best Halloween Decorator. He had managed to turn his front yard into a recreation of a Tim Burton movie seemingly overnight. You could see elements of both Nightmare Before Christmas and Beetlejuice in his decoration. And because of it, he stole the title from right under your nose. It took you until almost Thanksgiving to get over the loss, but you had acknowledged Junmyeon as your rival. You resolved to keep your title for Christmas and crush him. You still adored Seju though, even though the kid got hurt enough at school to where you worried over him, seeing him was still the only good part of your day sometimes. You unlocked the door to your car only to freeze at what was inside. You looked around confused until you found a tiny card on your dashboard and opened it. You immediately ripped the card in anger. A door opened next door, Sehun was walking out, presumably leaving for work. You dropped the pieces of card on the ground and charged at Sehun, your hands wrapping around his neck. He yelped in surprise. “Why did you help Junmyeon break into my car?” you growled. “How did you know?” Sehun asked, voice barely escaping in your grip. “Only you are crafty enough to break into a car without breaking a window.” His eyes suddenly shined at the odd compliment. You thought that it was weird that he was flattered. “You think I’m crafty?” You nodded. “Like how Kevin McCallister from Home Alone is crafty.” You let go of Sehun’s neck, he bent over to catch his breath. “But that’s beside the point! Why did you help him do it?” Sehun shrugged. “He just asked me to do it and I did. He didn’t tell me why.” “He left a bajillion Christmas themed pacifiers in my car,” you said, frustrated. “Along with a card that said, ‘You might need these for when I beat you in the contest.’” “This rivalry you guys have is the weirdest form of foreplay,” Sehun wheezed, rubbing his neck. “What are you talking about?” you asked. Sehun rolled his eyes. “C’mon, (Y/N), it’s clear that you two have a thing for each other.” “I do not have a thing for Kim Junmyeon!” you exclaimed angrily, uncaring if the entire neighborhood heard you. “The way you stare at his butt begs to differ,” Sehun muttered bitterly. You rolled your eyes. In another world you thought you and Sehun would be a good match, but his interests more aligned with musicians who wore too many muscle shirts. Before you could open your mouth to reply—probably to tease him about his petty jealously—Sehun’s front door opened again, revealing Chanyeol who strided over to Sehun with his signature grin. “Sehun-ah!” he called out. He handed Sehun a paper bag. “You forgot your lunch.” Sehun smiled, eyes squinting into crescents. “Thank you, hyung. I appreciate it.” You looked back and forth between them. Sehun, as if remembering what was happening and where he was, looked at you panicked. “This isn’t what it looks like?” You quirked an eyebrow, “Good, because I don’t have the emotional capacity to unpack this right now. Just don’t help Junmyeon break into my shit ever again.” You turned around and stomped away. “I have an ass to beat this Christmas!” “Kinky!” Sehun yelled to your retreating back. You flipped him off.
You opened the door to see Seju shuffling nervously, holding a giant plastic bag in his hands. You blinked, confused, before shaking it off. You smiled, "Seju, how is your break going?" "Good, Miss (Y/N)!" Seju answered enthusiastically. He thrust the plastic bag at you. "I made these for you!" The contents of the bag looked questionable. Inside looked what appeared to be black star-shaped lumps. You hesitated to take them, but you didn't want to hurt Seju's feelings. "Thank you, Seju. What are these?" You asked. He tilted his head at you, confused. "Can't you tell? They're cookies!" You gulped before putting on a stronger, faker, smile. "Of course they are, how silly of me." "I made them to thank you for taking care of me!" Seju grinned. You were touched by the sentiment. "You're very welcome, Seju. Just be more careful when school starts back up again, okay?" Seju nodded, "Okay!" Deep down, you knew that nothing much would change. Seju waved goodbye as he went back to his house, leaving you with the bag of lump-shaped cookies. You closed the door and sighed. Should you throw them away? Another knock on the door startled you out of your thoughts. You opened the door again, surprised to see Junmyeon at your doorstep. He was most certainly dressed down. He wore a plain white shirt with gray sweatpants. His hair, not styled, was pushed out of his face by a headband. His hands were behind his back, and you could see the tiniest peek at how defined his chest was. How did he still look so good even in casual clothes? "Hi?" You asked. "What are you doing here?" Junmyeon sighed. "Whatever you do, do not eat those cookies." He revealed another plastic bag from behind his back. This time, you could clearly see that they were cookies. You gingerly took them from his outstretched hands. "Why are you being so nice to me?" You asked with a glare. Junmyeon shrugged. "My son likes you." You rolled your eyes. "You're just buttering me up so that I could let my guard down for the competition." His lips quirked up in a teasing smile. "Is it working?" "As if," you huffed. "Delicious sweets won't work on me." You were about to slam the door in his face but stopped yourself. "Thank you, though," you mumbled. "I had no idea what I was going to do with Seju's cookies." Junmyeon smiled bigger this time, more genuine. "My pleasure, (Y/N)."
You walked out on your front porch and screamed. "What the hell is this?!" You dont know how, but overnight your front yard had become a reenactment of Nightmare Before Christmas. You had come face to face with Jack Skellington in a Santa costume, smiling in a way that unsettled you. There was a note sticking on his chest with your name written in neat scrawl. You instantly recognized the writing. You opened the note. 'You're right, Nightmare Before Christmas is much more of a Christmas movie than a Halloween movie. Maybe if I gave you these you'd stand a chance at beating me. --Junmyeon' You crushed the note in your hand and pushed Jack Skellington over, screaming. You spied Sehun out of the corner of your eye, who raised his hands in surrender and shook his head, wanting to let you know that he had nothing to do with this one. You stomped over to the rest of the decorations, pulling them down. Kim Junmyeon just struck your last nerve.

Deltarune asks
Did you ever end up going back to do the card suite puzzle in Deltarune? Just so you know, if you didn’t you can still go back to do that since the last save in the game is before you fight King. I’d recommend checking the prison elevator again before doing that though.
I haven’t gotten around to it yet, or replaying the game in general. That’s a good point about the save, thank you!
As for the prison elevator: Since finishing the game, I’ve been hanging out in the Deltarune channel on Lore’s Discord server, where I found out about Jevil. I’ve heard he claims he “can do anything”, is based on some clown stickers, and I found out yesterday how you find him. Apparently his fight is supposed to be pretty good, making up for some of the flaws in the King fight? That’s definitely another thing I want to check out, yeah.
After reading your Deltarune post, I'm so upset that you didn't mention Kris's soul getting sent to the Birdcage at the end.
Pfft! I certainly missed an opportunity there, yeah. :p
Maybe I would’ve made that joke if I had been in less of an “I just want to finish the game and go to bed” state of mind at that point. And in more of a Worm mindset.
"Heroes of Light? I don’t know, I don’t think I’d peg either of them as having that aspect." Foreshadowing the tweest ending much? Heroes of Light have a certain, ha, 'passion' for not losing.
Hehe.
Y’know, if the theory I’ve seen going around about Kris ripping their own soul out to stop us from stealing their agency and their story is right, I could actually see that as having to do with the Light aspect. I’m not sure what class it’d be, though. Maybe that reflects more on the player than on Kris, making us Vriskas Thieves of Light.
You know what did foreshadow the ending, though, that I totally called? The character overview specifying that Kris’s body contained a human soul.
Toby Fox had some things to say about Deltarune you may or may not want to read: http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1sqn3p9
Alright, let’s see what the Fox has to say:
1. "Is this a sequel? What's going on?? I'm scared..." Please don't worry too much about that. Actually, I'm worried if people worry too much about "what it is," they might not be able to properly enjoy it... (laugh) I will say that basically, what you're seeing here is not the world of UNDERTALE. UNDERTALE's world and ending are the same as however you left them. If everyone was happy in your ending, the people in the UNDERTALE world will still be happy. So, please don't worry about those characters, and that world. It will remain untouched. To rephrase that, DELTARUNE's world is a different one. With different characters, that have lived different lives. A whole new story will happen... I don't know what you call this kind of game. It's just a game you can play after you complete UNDERTALE, if you want to. That's all.
...alright, fair enough. I don’t trust that it’s not connected, especially through Sans (metanarrative timeline agent that he is) and maybe Chara, but it does seem to be an alternate world.
2. "I have questions I want to ask about the story..." There's a lot of questions I'd like to answer, too. That's why I have to make the game. Please wait until then.
A game dev’s equivalent of Robert Jordan’s “read and find out”.
3. "When will the next chapter come out?" This is a difficult question. When I made the demo of UNDERTALE, I made it to prove to myself that it was possible to make a whole game alone (with some help with the art). Because I was able to make it in a few months, I felt that I had proved that it was possible. However, making the demo of DELTARUNE... took a few years. So, given the length of the rest of the game, and how long I'd be willing to spend on a project (7 years maximum) I think the answer is that it's actually impossible to make this game.
I wonder how many people he’s working with. Maybe that’s the solution to this issue, to outsource some of the work to people he trusts.
Lots of things make this game harder to make than the last time. - The graphics are much more complicated and don't play to my strengths (black and white battle graphics were easy...) - The battle system is much more complicated due to multiple characters (I'll write about this later) - The overworld and other sections are more complicated due to multiple characters - Having multiple main characters is much harder to write especially introducing everyone properly in chapter 1 - The entire town had to be created correctly on the first try to set up properly for the rest of the game And further things outside of those: - Trouble starting tasks/concentrating and general difficulty paying attention - Travelling / other responsibilities like translation/ports - Self-doubt / burnout regarding the creation of the game Essentially it's not possible to make this game as one person (and Temmie).
Oh jeez, it’s only him and Temmie Chang?
Also, “Trouble starting tasks/concentrating and general difficulty paying attention” sounds like ADHD to me. I can relate heavily to this point.
However, it MIGHT be possible to create the game if I'm able to make a team. So I'm going to try making a team. Because I really want to make this. But I may not be able to succeed because I have no experience successfully directing a team and I have no idea who I'm going to work with.
Yes, good. That sounds a lot healthier.
I’m sure he can do it. In a pinch, I know he knows people who can probably give him pointers on team leadership, too, over at What Pumpkin.
Since I haven't started assembling the team yet I have absolutely no estimation of its completion. It could take up to 999 years depending on the efficiency level. By the way, I currently plan to release all of the chapters at once after we complete them. I'm not sure how long that will take. You'll buy all of the chapters at once as one purchase. That'll be the only option. I'm not doing pre-orders because I don't like those. It just seems like the best way not to burn anybody. Price is unknown. It depends on how long the game is, and how much it costs to make... I don't know anything about what consoles, etc. it'll come out for because by the time it comes out we might be on Playstation 14 or something. So... in short, I have no idea.
That’s all very fair.
4. "Is this the game's final design? Will you change anything?" It's possible I could change things. This is basically a demo. I might even change this first chapter before release depending on how development goes. This is really an excuse to talk about the parts I think had issues. THE BATTLE SYSTEM: I think the battle system could be explained better. I had a super duper long explanation of things here but really it boils down to: 1. UT's system is incompatible with multiple party members but I wanted to do it anyway because it's cool 2. I'd like to make it so for pacifist players, characters won't have to "defend" so much Oh. The people who tested the game thought that the TP system and animations were cool so it's not all bad. By the way, did you notice that getting close to bullets makes enemy attacks end faster? It doesn't work for every attack, but...
I didn’t notice that detail, but I do appreciate the way it adds to TP without having to defend. But I found myself defending a lot anyway just because it was the only thing there was much point in doing with the characters in question sometimes.
I do feel like there wasn’t enough to use the TP for, but that seems like something that might change as the characters develop more skills over the course of the full game.
EVERYTHING ELSE: I thought everything else was OK. Actually some parts were kind of lazy, like finding the key pieces, but oh well. The UI had some things that could be changed too. When making a game, there's so much to do you have to draw the line somewhere. That's why I need other people to help me (laugh) Oh, and I have no plans to add more content to the first chapter.
5. "Will there be multiple endings?" No. No matter what you do the ending will be the same. (Honestly most games are like that, but for some reason it feels really oppressive to say here...) I think that's part of the reason why the ACT / FIGHT system feels so vestigial in this one. Oh... I'm just talking about the battle system again...
Toby sounds a lot like Napstablook in this thing.
A single ending, huh? Interesting, considering the contrasts between Deltarune and Undertale regarding whether your choices matter and whether fighting is sometimes necessary, and the fact that Ralsei explicitly asks you to do a pacifist run.
6. "I found some kind of bug, will you fix it?" Hopefully an e-mail for that exists on the website by now. Or, it would be better if you could tweet it with #deltarunebug . That would really help us and make our lives easier because tweets are easier to ignore than e-mails
Ahaha!
7. "Can I be on the team?" I'll ask you first!!! (Total silence)
The humor is picking up here. :p
8. "What's the progress on the rest of the game so far?" 0%!!! Nothing!!! I've done nothing!!! I mean, I've done some songs and written the whole story, but... Since no programming or final art has been done, it's best to just think of it at 0%. 9. "Will you do a Kickstarter?" I still haven't finished that damn Alarm Clock, are you kidding me? There's no way I'm doing a Kickstarter this time.
I assume he’s referencing a pledge reward from the Kickstarter for Undertale (that was how I first found out about Undertale, actually, though I then forgot about it until it came out) that hasn’t panned out, or something like that.
10. "The game doesn't work" / "I don't like the game" / "Will there be a version for (platform)?" Because it's a free download I'm surrounded by a forcefield that destroys all complaints and platform requests. There might be more platforms for the DEMO but I don't want to make any promises. (At the very least it'd be nice to do something for the people who bought the game on console.) By the way at the time of writing I haven't even rendered a Mac version whatsoever at all. I hope I can release it... (laugh)
I have a friend who was unable to play the game himself because (as far as I can recall) he’s on a Mac. But yeah, this is fair.
11. "Can I buy the soundtrack for Chapter 1?" Yes! You can buy it at [ http://tobyfox.bandcamp.com ] And other forms of distribution will be in the works too. I'm writing this in the past so I don't know what I just said. 12. "Any closing remarks?" (No one asks this, but...) Thanks for playing my game. I hope you liked it. For the past 3 years I've been waking up in the middle of the night unable to go back to sleep because I've been thinking about the scenes that happen in the game. Even though so many details are still hazy, I really want to show you the things I've been thinking about. That's really my only reason for making this game. If I don't show you what I'm thinking, I'll lose my mind. (It was actually a totally selfish motivation...)
...interesting. Looks like we’re in for a ride when the full game comes.
Not that I was really doubting that.
By the way, I was really worried at first about making this. The expectations for my next work would be really high, so high that I knew that no matter what I did, I felt like people would be underwhelmed. If you played "UNDERTALE," I don't think I can make anything that makes you feel "that way" again. However, it's possible I can make something else. It's just something simple but maybe you'll like it. See you in ?? years... OK? Don't forget.
My audience probably won’t believe me if I say I won’t, due to my history of bad memory, but I don’t think I will.
And yeah. Especially when you’re connecting it to Undertale and its characters, people are going to compare the two. But even if Deltarune isn’t quite the same hit as Undertale was, it’ll be worth it, I’m sure.

Why I TP’d My Own House
This happened when I was about thirteen years old and I still think about it today.
My friend Jackie and I were extremely mischievous children. We loved joking around, sometimes using extreme measures to pull the best pranks. I can remember climbing a neighbors tree with her, and devising a rope-and-pully system with a basket and water balloons to get the balloons to the top of the tree so that we could throw them at the neighborhood boys without being detected or retaliated against. Sometimes we would do mildly dangerous things to get a good rush, but it was never serious, just harmless messing around.
One night Jackie came over for a sleepover. We ate a bunch of candy and talked about boys, and then we got bored. It was around 1 in the morning and we were hyped off of the sugar so we couldn't sleep. One of us mentioned that we wished our other friend, Bailey, was there to hang out with. And then I got the most brilliant idea of the evening: the two of us should sneak out of my house, walk over to Bailey's and then TP her front tree.
Now for those of you that don't know what TPing is, it means toilet papering. You know how the douchy frat boys in college sometimes throw toilet paper all over other fraternity houses to show dominance or manliness or just plain stupidness? That's what I wanted to do. She, of course, thought it was a brilliant idea. So we stuffed a bunch of rolls of toilet paper into two large purses, put on some sneakers, and then sneaked downstairs and out my back door.
It was a summer night, so not too cold which was good because we were wearing tank tops and pj shorts. The walk to her house was half through neighborhoods, and half through a long stretch of road next to a golf course with a neighborhood at the very end of it. Bailey's house was a little under a mile away, so we began hustling so that we could get there faster and maybe tap on her window and get her to hang out if she wasn't asleep. We began walking, at first nervous that my parents would catch us, and then confident that they wouldn't, we begin giggling and talking about boys again.
Now, I'm sure that most people reading this will think we were very stupid, and we were, but you have to understand the context of the situation. My hometown is VERY quiet. Nobody goes outside after 8:00 at night. It was ranked in the top 5 safest cities in the United States. Nothing bad happens there, or nothing that we knew about at that age. We had up until that point thankfully never had the opportunity to be afraid of walking alone, or at night growing up.
So with that in mind, we figured we had nothing to worry about. We kept chattering on as we crossed the residential area into the golf course and didn't miss a beat in doing so. Suddenly, an suv lazily rode up going the opposite way of us. I can still remember it like it happened a few minutes ago instead of years. The suv was large, red , and four doored, with a middle aged man driving. He slowed down as he approached us, and rolled down his windows.
"Hey Girlies. What are you doing up so late at night?"
He had a huge mouth, with perfect, straight white teeth, and he would have been handsome if he hadn't been so strange.
"Nothing."
He raised his eyebrows at that
"Nothing. All by yourselves? Well thats Dangerous."
He smiled again, this time even wider, and I could, for the first time in my life, feel fear ripple through me like a wave.
" We are walking to my Dad's house. He's waiting for us."
Silence crept between the car and us. I had lied. He knew I lied. He looked at me, then at Jackie. For a minute I actually convinced myself that maybe he was just a very very creepy nosy neighbor. But there was something so wrong with him. He took his time replying, twisting the words around his mouth like he was tying a cherry stem into a knot.
"That's..... interesting. You're so young to be allowed out so late wearing ...that. You better hurry home to him before it's too late."
The air stood still. The only thing keeping me from bolting was Jackie by my side. I couldn't see her face because I was locking eyes with the smiling man, so I wasn't sure if she heard what I heard too. " you better hurry home before it's too late." "Too Late." Too Late at night... or Too Late for ...what? I didn't want to know, and I was certain that if we somehow were separated things would go very, very badly. I thought quickly. He was on the other side of the road. He would have to go a distance to get us. I tore my eyes from his and risked a quick glance at Jackie, and Jackie wasn't moving either, she was looking at me with wide eyes, as if I knew what to do. So I pretended I did.
"Thank you, Sir. Have a good night."
I grabbed Jackie's hand and marched down the sideway away from him in what I hoped was a confident way. His suv lingered behind us, unmoving. We kept walking, gripping hands covered in sweat together as if it was the only thing keeping us from certain death.
Clack Clack Clack
Our footsteps made empty hollow noises down the deserted sidewalk. My ears were in sonar mode, listening for something, anything, a car door opening, a mans voice.... But I refused to turn around and give him the satisfaction of knowing I was afraid. I didn't want him to know we were. Suddenly, a car screeched into gear and we heard him peel down the asphalt. We started running, and as we ran we both looked behind our shoulders. He had driven off the opposite way, away from us. We didn't slow down.
Eventually we could see where the edge of the golf course ended and in the distance, where a sleepy neighborhood of houses began. It was a ways away, but it symbolized safety to us, so we slowed down. We walked in tense silence for a while. I looked at Jackie's face and her jaw was clenched. She looked at me.
" That guy..."
"Yeah."
.............................
"What do you think he wanted?"
"You know what he wante-"
"Yeah. I was hoping you would say you knew him."
"No."
Clack Clack Clack SCREEEEEEEEEEEEECH
The sound of a car booking it down the road came from behind us. We both turned at the same time to see the man in the Red Suv, now on our side of the road, coming straight at us. Neither of us moved, I think we were paralyzed with fear. He Jerked to a stop next to us and began to get out of the car.
"Run!" I shouted
And we tore down the sidewalk towards the houses. The smiling man started shouting something at us but I couldn't catch what he was saying and I wasn't about to turn around and try to find out. The houses were getting closer, but he had gotten back into his suv and was following us shouting things out of the window. There was a corner coming up, and we heard the suv stop, and then him get out and start running after us.
"That way!" Jackie screamed
We turned the corner into the neighborhood, but there was nowhere to go. It was one in the morning, no one was awake, we didn't know any of the people who lived in these houses, and by the time someone woke up to open the door he would catch us. But the first house on the street had a low fence. I pointed to it and didn't even have to say a word to her. We both hopped it and tumbled into a strangers backyard.
They had a Dog. Luckily, it didn't attack us. Unluckily it began barking. We sprinted across the yard and quickly hopped their fence into the neighboring yard which didn't have a dog, and hid behind a bush and a temporary pool in the back. The Dog in the yard over kept barking. From a hole in the bush we could see through the wrought iron fence out into the street. Nothing. Then a voice.
" I know you're here girlies."
We could hear him walking around but couldn't see him. A gate rustled and the neighbors Dog barked even louder. He was looking for us in the first yard that we had went into. He said something else but we couldn't understand him. And then we didn't hear him for a long time. A shadow appeared through the iron fence- the neighbors dog. It had been let out of its backyard, and had wandered past the one we were in. For all we knew he knew exactly where we were and was playing with us, So we didn't move. We sat silently in the bush for hours.
As the night began to fade and the early morning sun began to frame the edge of the hills, still dark but less so, we heard an engine rev. In horror we watched the man in the red suv drive slowly by through the fence in the yard we were hiding in, his face set, turning, searching, still looking. And in that moment I knew why he had driven away the first time; he was giving us a head start. He was hunting us, and he didn't want the prey to go down too easy. It would have ruined his game.
We sat in that bush until around 6:30 in the morning when it was it was fully light out, and then we ran back to my place to hop in bed before my parents woke up. When we got to my house, I realized we still had all the toilet paper we had stolen from my kitchen cabinets in my bags.
"Jackie.... since we never TPd Bailey's house, lets TP mine. It has a better tree. Besides my parents will never suspect it was us because who the fuck TPs their own house?"
It was true. The tree outside of my parents house is a truly magnificent maple tree. And my parents would never guess that we were the culprits. But thats not why I wanted to TP it. I wanted to release all of the tension from the night before and relax again. I wanted to pretend that we were not almost kidnapped in the middle of the night without anyone knowing where we were or why we had disappeared out of our beds without a trace. I wanted to feel like a kid again.
"Yeah. Lets do it!"
So, we completely wrapped my enormous tree in toilet paper, throwing roll after roll up and around, and then hosing the entire thing for good measure (so it would be harder to get out...."more authentic") and then crept up the stairs and fell asleep, exhausted in my bed. Approximately half an hour later my mom burst into my room screaming
"SOMEONE TP'D OUR HOUSE!!!!!!!"
And that was the end of our sleep, because my mom was sure that one of "your annoying little friends did this and thought it was funny" and "we need to combine a family effort to get it off because the ASSHOLES USED OUR HOSE AND SPRAYED IT DOWN!"
Jackie immediately remembered a mysterious obligation of babysitting for her brothers on a Saturday morning, and she had to go do it or else her mom would get mad, and so I was stuck with my irate family combing through wet maple leaves and sopping wet disgusting toilet paper through the afternoon. I learned two lessons that day.
Do not TP your own house (for so many obvious reasons...)
Do NOT walk anywhere at night, with a friend, alone, to pull a prank, to go on a run, do not go. Because you never know who might be out there waiting for an opportunity to hunt.

Anyone who knows me well knows that I appreciate my “me” time.  I’m a strange combination of introverted and extraverted.  I’m often the biggest personality in the room amongst friends, and then I shrink into my athleisure clothing over the weekend to recoup my energy solo. On a normal week, I have the opportunity to get enough social stimuli through work, friends, and chats with family.  At the end of my first ten days home, I’m starting to feel disconnected and isolated.  It’s necessary, but I’m feeling it big time going into the weekend. You’ll notice that I’m not talking about “social distancing” in this post, because for us single ladies, it’s next level.  It’s social starvation, and I am on “me time” overload. I can already feel it.  I’m getting lonely. When you’re single, there is fantastic notion and pride in taking care of yourself.  Anything you have and that you’ve accomplished is yours and because of you.  It could be as simple as paying your electric bill, decorating a room, or unloading the dishwasher.  None of these things happen unless you do it. At the same time, there is a scary feeling tied to being completely self-reliant.  Example:  I have lived in Colorado for nearly 15 years now, and I’ve never skied.  While that sounds insane, I also know that breaking one of my 43-year-old bones would not be in my best interest.  So, I have to make safe decisions sometimes. In the same sense, in light of COVID-19, I can’t get coronavirus.  I went down a dark, twisty hole this week thinking about how this would play out if I were to contract it (more on that in another post.)  That was a fun night…  All this being said, I’m taking social distancing very seriously.  We all should be.  While Coloradans are still free to roam the land (but not dine out, get your hair colored, or go to the gym), I’m choosing to stay put. WORKING FROM HOME I love working from home.  It’s my jam.  I get so much done, and I love being close to my kitchen and comfortable.  I eat healthy meals.  I drink tons of water  The bathroom is clean and just 12 steps away (ooo… something to verify.) My company (unfortunately) has a no “work from home” policy.  While they’ve lifted it right now, it’s been a LONG TIME since I’ve been able to work from my home office.  If you remember, I redid this space years ago, so it’s bright and comfortable and happy.  It’s one of my favorite spaces in my home, and I’m highly productive (and happy!) here. On Friday, I had a call with our executive team and I knew that they might have a fondness for video.  Unlike the other days I’d logged in, I got up and put makeup on and piled my hair on top of my head, suspecting that I might need to show myself on the call.  Like clockwork, 40 people logged on WITH VIDEO.  And, I have to tell you – – I can’t even believe I’m saying this — I liked it! It was great to see everyone after not seeing them for a while, and people brought their personalities to the Zoom and during varied speaking parts.  Really nice. But guys, if I’m for VIDEO CALLS, I’m definitely missing people. MEETING THE NEIGHBORS I’ve also met my neighbors.  This sounds like no big deal, but I’ve lived here for eleven years… and up until this week, I’d met one person.  I’ve said hello here and there, but I didn’t know people’s names.  You best believe I do now.   I met Bonnie and Katie (and her cute baby who’s name escapes me) and Sheila this week.  All very kind and coming together as a little community of helpers.  When someone’s outside, you can tell we all need interaction and we just chit chat a little (responsibly from 6 ft away).  It’s really nice, and have been some of the bright moments of my week. GETTING THE MAIL Hands down, this is my favorite moment of every day.  I live in a condo, so I walk to the mailbox bank every day to see what’s up.  Most days, it’s bills or those dumb flyers that go straight in the trash (I mean, when do those stop being a thing?)  I’ve also been trying to send out cards to friends – – little hellos, as I have to believe that everyone is loving mail right now — and this is where I drop them off to be mailed. Again, I’m starved for interaction… if you’re getting mail at the same time I am, be prepared.  I’m going to chat you up.  This, ladies and gents, is where I met my new friend Glennis.  I’ve decided Glennis and I are BFF.  She probably has a knitting project going right now too.  I naturally started up a conversation with Glennis at the mail area about the census paperwork that showed up.  I mean, that’s exciting and conversation worthy. As I was walking away, I turned around and asked Glennis if she had everything she needed.  She responded that she just got back from vacation and is having a tough time finding (yes) toilet paper.  I gave her my address and told her that I could hook her up with some squares, should she run out.  Naturally (like we all do), Glennis said she’d be fine and that she’d keep looking.  She also mentioned that she had kleenex she could use too.  I reiterated I had extra to share, and we said our goodbyes. When I got home, I couldn’t stop thinking about her and decided to find her in our HOA directory and pop by with some TP.  Her unique name made her easy to find, and I bopped over with four megarolls of the Charmin Soft. Her response when she opened the door reminded me so much of my grandmother.  She was just tickled, as Lenora would have been.  “I’ll always remember you…” she said with a smile. What she doesn’t realize though is that I will too, and that moment was hands-down my favorite of the week. ADDING FACETIME TO MY PHONE I disabled Facetime on my phone a while back.  A courtesy to friends that I used to Facetime late at night after a few too many rosés, everyone seems to want to Facetime and I’m here for it (and using it somewhat responsibly.) Last night, we had a group Facetime that was a lot of fun and way too much wine.  Initially, it seemed like just a fun moment with friends, but I literally can’t even describe how much I needed that. Protip:  You can do group Facetimes.  Open a group text conversation, and at the top of the screen, you’ll see an option for Facetime.  Click it, and it will initiate a group Facetime.  So easy! If you’re in an office, team virtual happy hours might be a fun idea.  We’re having our first one next week with the team; I’ll keep you posted how it goes. VOLUNTEERING TO DO THINGS At work, we have a women in technology group that I don’t get super involved in usually.  My busy-body self attends when I can, but I don’t typically raise my hand to lead things.  UNTIL NOW. I just set up a virtual book club at work, and the fact that 45 women want to participate WARMS MY FREAKING LONELY HEART.  We’re reading Fierce Joy by Susie Rinehart, which is hands down my favorite read of 2019. We all could use a little Fierce Joy right now, am I right???  As I re-read, I’ll be sharing some highlights and a-ha moments here and on social media.  Stay tuned, it’s the most lovely book. If you could use a little Fierce Joy in YOUR life –> Click Here. REMEMBERING I’M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO NEEDS SUPPORT We all need support.  To be clear, you may not be single but everything I mentioned may be tricky challenges you’re facing as well.  I hope not (and that you’re feeling a-ok), but if you are it’s completely normal.  It’s completely normal to feel lonely.  It’s completely normal to feel not lonely. Let’s all try to reach out to people more often right now.  Only good can come from it! MSGS Tip of the Day:  Take a few minutes to send a card to friends and family near and far.  We’re all loving happy mail right now, and this could be a little way to spread joy.  If you have kids, let them get in on the action too!  Artwork + a happy note = BEST MAIL DAY EVER! Now, there are some things that will change
Cooper’s mission this season was not his slow return as Good Coop, or to Twin Peaks. It wasn’t to destroy Bad Coop, and not to save Laura from dying. His mission was to destroy Judy.
Tumblr media
In episode 17 we learn that Major Briggs told Gordon Cole and Cooper about Judy, an extreme negative force. Cooper, Gordon and Major Briggs make a plan to destroy Judy. Then Major Briggs disappears. Cooper tells Gordon to look for him if he disappears, as he is trying to “kill two birds with one stone”.
The Fireman, episode 1: “Remember 430. Richard and Linda. Two birds, one  stone”.
Laura is the stone. He needs her to live to help destroy Judy (I guess Bob is the other bird?). It’s been his mission since the opening scene in the 1st episode.
We know from episode 8 of this season that Laura, or a spirit to inhabit Laura, was created by Dido and the Fireman to counter Bob and the mother/Judy.
Log Lady, episode 10: “Laura is the One”
Initially when watching episode 18 I was wondering why Cooper would intervene in Laura’s last night alive to stop her from dying, only to take her back to her home to Bob and possibly Judy (either as Sarah Palmer or an entity inside her home). She would also still have all the trauma from past abuse. Now I see that he isn’t our Dale Cooper white knight trying to save her from dying a painful death, but to save her from dying and putting on the ring(he warned her in FWWM not to take the ring) and spending 25 years in the lodge. He wants to prevent her from dying so she can face off against Judy.
When Richard/Coop and Carrie/Laura meet in Odessa he says he would like to take her to her mother’s house. Of course, this has a double meaning as the Mother is another name for Judy. And Judy is possibly inhabiting Sarah Palmer, or her house. Philip Jeffries tells Cooper he can find Judy in 708, (Sarah’s house), and that someone might be there. Around the moment Laura disappears we see Sarah in her lounge room smashing up Laura’s portrait. In season 1, episode 3 Leland dances around with Laura’s portrait in the same room and accidentally smashes it before Sarah screams “What is going on in this house!?!”

So, Cooper goes back to 1989 to the night Laura died. He tells her he is taking her home. As Cooper is leading Laura out of the woods he turns and she disappears. A few people have noted this is like the Greek tragedy of Eurydice and Orpheus (thank you! I haven’t studied the Greek myths and would never have known that).
“…When Eurydice dies of a fatal snake bite to her foot, Orpheus refuses to accept that he will never see his beloved wife again, and so attempts to achieve the impossible by retrieving her from the Underworld. Putting the supernatural creatures in his path under the spell of his divine lyre music, Orpheus manages to get through all of the obstacles of the Underworld. As a reward, he is granted the opportunity to lead Eurydice back to life with him, on the condition that he never looks back at his ghost wife as they exit the Underworld…Tragically, Orpheus fails to meet the obligations of the deal and in a moment of madness he looks back at Eurydice, condemning her once more to the shadows...”

Laura disappears into the Underworld. Or the alternate reality/Odessa. Has season 3 been Cooper as Orpheus, trying to get through obstacles to get to this Underworld? It could explain why Freddie- a new, minor character introduced late in the season- is the one to dispatch Bob, not Cooper himself. It isn’t his main goal.
Also, just before Laura disappears in the woods Coop hears the record scratching sound. In episode 1 The Firemen tells Cooper to listen to the scratching record and that “It is in our house now”. In season 2 when Leland/Bob attacks Maddie we also hear the record scratches. The record scratches might indicate the presence of evil including Bob and Judy. Perhaps Judy intervened and caused Laura’s disappearance.
So, Cooper remembers 430, Richard and Linda etc. He crosses a threshold to a different reality to find Laura, to bring her to confront Judy
Tumblr media
Of course it isn’t that simple. It may be a different timeline, or an alternate reality. Despite RichardCoop’s line “What year is this?” I’m leaning toward it being a different reality/the Underworld. It’s a kind of mirror of the Twin Peaks world but there is something so off about this place. The presence of Judy, or evil is like an oppressive fog. The whole episode is flat, nihilistic, and a little sleazy. It’s like Twin Peaks with the colour drained out. Both Laura as Carrie and Cooper as Richard have none of their original’s charisma. The “Welcome to Twin Peaks” sign is missing. Laura/Carrie doesn’t recognise anything until the very end. Coop recognises the places but can’t seem to process it. He barely reacts to the dead guy at Carrie’s. He doesn’t see the Tremond/Chalfont connection. There is no music in this place, Badalamenti’s score is noticeably absent, except The Platters song “My Prayer” playing over the sex scene. It’s the same song playing at the end of episode 8 from the radio station which the girl is listening to just before the bug/frog/roach crawls into her mouth and the woodsman shatters skulls.
And of course, Laura/Carrie works at a diner called Judy’s. There is a white horse outside Judy’s diner, a porcelain white horse in Carries house, and she wears a horseshoe necklace (in the original series Sarah Palmer sees the white horse just before Bob appears; the got-a-light woodsman mentions a horse in his incantation: Log Lady mentions a pale horse in a poem in the original series “Woe to the ones who behold the pale horse”). When Richard/Coop tries to complete his mission, the Tremonds now live at the house and Sarah Palmer is no longer there. At first. We hear Sarah the very last moment, as Laura/Carrie becomes aware.
Tumblr media
Many fans are speculating that the town of Twin Peaks is now irrevocably altered and lost forever because of Cooper trying to save Laura and crossing thresholds. I thought this at first too. But now I think the town in ep 18 is not our Twin Peaks at all but is the alternative Twin Peaks. This means the only thing that changes in our TP, at Cooper’s intervention, is the death of Laura Palmer. We see in episode 17 Laura’s dead body disappearing on the shore, Pete Martell fishing as usual, and not finding her body. She is now a missing person. In the Red Room she disappears, meaning she never put the ring on, never died and never ended up in the Black Lodge. And of course, if there was no murder, then Cooper never came to Twin Peaks.
Tumblr media
Cooper, episode 17: “Now, there are some things that will change. The past    dictates the future”
He knows he is going back to stop Laura’s death. If Laura doesn’t die, if Judy and Bob are eradicated, then Dale Cooper never came to Twin Peaks. But he will still remember it. He will remember his time there that never happened. This is the dream. Dale Cooper is the dreamer. The whole show is now his dream.

Should Someone Talk to Themselves Why They Want To Get Back With Their Ex lover?
A bunch of our team strain to mingle with other people as well as establish premium connections. Blowing up on a loosely-related tangent, could somebody please, SATISFY, for the love of the lords, provide me their on-line registration to The Moments, considering that as this stands I am actually incapable to check out Janice tp Turner's FASCINATING looking short article qualified 'Stay in your personal street' way of thinking is actually the new discrimination." I aimed to check (read: mock) that on Twitter and swiftly found myself blocked out by Turner herself, which is actually ultimately unfortunate but hilarious as I was actually somewhat wanting to figure out if the post could probably compare to its own label. Structure significant muscle mass is actually intended as well as takes an excellent volume of work, mentions qualified stamina as well as conditioning train Mike LoBue, featuring lifting heavy body weight at a high amount sometimes a full week, complying with a weight-gain diet with generous quantities from healthy healthy protein per day and having supplements. Often an individual knows that completion is actually happening and also experiences defenseless to do just about anything to prevent that. Sometimes it simply comes out of heaven and also the individual is actually left behind dazed along with surprise, wondering just what has actually happened. Socialize with others on the online forums and also share your enthusiasm for all things interactives media, whether that's breaking creatures photographes on the Serengeti, creating excellent business products and also presentations, or amazing a YouTube target market with outstanding online videos. But just as any sort of artisan hangs out refining his abilities to make the excellent part of designed, thus must an author work hard to provide a write-up that is going to be an enjoyment to review as well as certainly not shame him for its mediocre grammar and punctuation. I found this very tough to proceed previous my childhood shyness as well as although I am only reflecting upon this currently, I recognize that the amount of time in my lifestyle, I really felt the best self-assured and also had the capacity to be who I would like to be actually was when I relocated overseas for 2 years and managed to create my life from scratch around folks who recognized absolutely nothing of my past times. Without dedicating anymore opportunity to Ether in certain, I would certainly think that is adequate to point out that while I absolutely experienced massive returns with Ether, and while I think this still possesses area to grow, all-in-all if you are certainly not in actually, you missed the boat. At times, Victoria feels behind the concerns I have looked at given that she was the very first one to face me. Despite the fact that I aim to tell her repeatedly once again that this is actually much off her mistake, she is actually still hesistant. I was actually experiencing specifically confused as graduation impended, struggling through a chaotic split up, experiencing a severe anorexia nervosa as well as mental illness (great deals, tons of rips), as well as falling apart under just what thought that suffocating body weight of everyday life.
Pop-ups flourished serve for increasing transformations to your checklist but reviewed most ideal practices and make certain the offer on the pop-up type is actually valuable as well as essential rather than just Join my email list." When it comes to the wording under the relevant information form, if I do not desire exactly what you are actually using, simply claim Absolutely no Thanks" or even I'll pass for right now" rather than No, I don't wish to develop my checklist" or even No many thanks, I'll just always keep shedding funds through financial with the various other fella." No must put-down people.

TP Countdown Day 22: May The Giant Be With You
We Holy cow, I’m not sure where to start. I had forgotten just how good this episode was, and it is very good. Part of the reason for that, I suspect, is that we get Mr. Lynch behind the camera again, which you can tell almost immediately. When Lynch is running the show, things have a tendency to slow right down. Scenes are given the opportunity to breathe. Actors take their time with their lines. They’re allowed to really live in the moment.
And they get a lot of time to do that in this double-length episode. And Lynch takes great advantage of that.
Something else that’s a sure sign that Lynch is behind the camera is the way that the darkness of Twin Peaks, which is usually left hovering at the edges, gets a chance to drift further towards the center. Even scenes that should be completely innocuous get an edge of tension.
Take, for example, the beginning of this episode.
We pick up immediately from where we left things -- Agent Cooper is laying on the floor having just been shot. He was wearing his bullet proof vest, so two of the bullets have been deflected, BUT he had rolled the vest up to try to find a wood tick that had been crawling on him, leaving a vulnerable spot for that third slug.
Coop is soon visited by a 100 year old room service waiter who brings him his warm milk, helpfully hangs up Coop’s phone which is still connected to Deputy Andy, and also helpfully doesn’t phone for an ambulance or anything else. The old waiter does give Coop a friendly thumbs up a few times, so that’s nice. It also takes about five minutes for all this to play out, as this elderly waiter shuffles from here to there, exits and re-enters, smiles, and advises Coop that his milk will get cool if he doesn’t drink it soon.
Coop is later visited by what appears to be a vision of a giant. The giant tells him three things, then takes Coop’s ring and explains that it will be returned to him once those three things have come true. The things are.
1. There is a man in a smiling bag.
2. The owls are not what they seem.
3. Without chemicals he points.
This, on first glance, appears to make as much sense as Cooper’s dream way back in the third episode, and that’s probably not a coincidence, because Lynch directed that episode too.
It only takes a short time for the first of the giant’s statements to prove true. After Coop gets patched up at the hospital (Doc Hayward removes a bullet complete with a squashed a wood tick) and getting the low-down from Lucy on what’s happened since he was shot (which also gives the low-down to anyone just joining us at the start of the second season), Coop sees Jacques Renault being carted away in a body bag -- the smiling bag of Cooper’s vision.
It’s not all visions and smiles, though, as this episode has to dance its way through all the cliff-hangers set up at the end of last season. Catherine and Josie are both missing following the fire at the mill, though Pete and Shelly both survived their run-ins with the blaze. Leo is in a coma after being shot by Hank. And Audrey -- poor Audrey! -- who I think I forgot to mention in the last recap, is trapped in One Eyed Jacks, having only just avoided a sexual tryst with the owner of the place, specifically, her father. And if you can think of a more awkward family meet up than that, I’d sure like to hear it.
But this is a new season, and that means we can’t just focus on the old storylines, we’ve got get some new ones rolling too. Donna gets her hands on Laura’s old sunglasses and instantly turns into a bad girl, which is kind of hot (full disclosure, Donna was my show crush when I first watched in 1990, but looking back on it now, it’s clear that Audrey was substantially hotter). Donna also gets a note to check out the Meals on Wheels that Laura used to do, so she signs up to take over Laura’s route, hoping to find some more clues into Laura’s murder.
Meanwhile, Leland seems to be doing much better after murdering Jacques, except for the fact that his hair has turned completely white over night. Also in the Palmer household, Maddie has a vision of what seems to be a massive blood stain on the living room carpet. That sure can’t be a good sign.
But maybe the most important revelation this episode is that of a third man at Leo’s cabin. In a scene where Cooper breaks down the case for the rest of the investigators -- another great moment to bring newcomers up to speed -- he explains that there was a third man apart from Leo and Jacques at the cabin who took Laura and Ronette to the train car to murder them. That means that after building towards the apparent resolution at the end of the first season that Leo must have been the killer, we learn that, in fact, no, he wasn’t, and the mystery continues.
Oh, Laura, will we ever learn who murdered you?
Yes. The answer is yes. We kind of find out at the episode’s close -- it appears to be Killer BOB. As Ronette wakes up, we get the chance to catch a few flashes of her memory of Laura’s death. And holy shit, those flashes. Laura with blood running down her face, either grinning  or gnashing her teeth; BOB attacking; Laura screaming; BOB screaming. It’s all pretty goddamn terrifying, and is probably the darkest sequence that show has put on TV yet. Oh, also, it’s goddamn stunning.
So now we know Killer BOB is the culprit. But we don’t know exactly who Killer BOB is. Shoe salesman Mike returns this episode to sell Truman some shoes, though, so maybe he’ll have something to offer?
“The owls are not what they seem”
I want to take a second here and talk about owls.
There are things that I remember about this show, and things that I don’t. For example, I remember how the giant’s prediction that “Without chemicals he points,” plays out. But I don’t remember how “The owls are not what they seem,” does.
But I wanted to make mention of something i read about years after watching Twin Peaks that I thought might have been loosely connected. Not in an exact literal way, but in a weird, Lynchian, tangential way. And that is that owls may have something to do with alien abductions.
I’m not sure where I read it -- it might have been in Communion, Whitley Streiber’s supposedly true account of his abduction by aliens, but apparently many people who claim to have been abducted also have “cover memories” that are implanted to cover the time during which they were in the alien’s custody. And, strangely enough, those covering memories often include owls.
I’m not sure why, that’s just how it goes.
Now I’m not suggesting that Killer BOB and the little man from another place are aliens, because that would be too on the nose and not very Lyncian at all. But I do wonder whether the prevalence of owls in the show might have come from this notion, that perhaps the owls could signify someone passing into the Black Lodge, or some other kind of thing.
On the other hand, is I think Sigmund Freud once famously said, “Sometimes an owl is just an owl.”
