*another letter!* It's me, again, I... well... not trying to be creepy, or whatever. but I had a dream about you last night, and it felt so real and it kind of shook me. ever since then it's been like I'm suddenly hyper aware of just how lonely I am . and it's kind of getting me down. for as far back as I can remember, the only thing I've ever wanted is a sincere, genuine romantic relationship, and, even though I'm fairly young, around your age. the fact that I haven't been able to even get my foot in the door on that sort of thing really bothers me. figured I'd talk, or... I guess... write? to you about it, I don't know if it's particularly impolite to dump your personal issues via pseudo-anonymous letters. so I'll keep this my rambling to a minimum. thanks for putting up with me, by the way. you're genuinely sweet. safe travels -Crush Guy

Kim flops back down on her bed, letting out a long, low groan. That trip had exhausted her, thoroughly; she wasn't sure she wanted to think about or do anything for the next forever, at least, but... She cracks open an eye and looks over at her pillows, noticing another letter waiting for her. Sitting up with a sigh, she rubs her eyes before taking it up and opening it, trying to will herself to feel more alive.

Reading over the letter, Kim frowns, feeling something like a pull in her chest. She rubs at her sternum and brings her knees up to wrap arms around her legs, looking back over it a couple times thoughtfully.

I can certainly understand that... she thought to herself, resting a cheek to one knee. I want for a lot of things, I guess. And do without them. But I can definitely understand that kind of longing.

She eventually uncurls and shifts about, moving to lean back against her propped up pillows, now placed to cover the gaps in her bed frame. Despite herself, she finds her thoughts taking her back- as they often do- to high school. She feels the painful twinge again, and she's thankful not to have to hide her emotions in the safety of her room- she'd locked the door, after all.

She could still remember what it had felt like, back then; to be loved. Or to think that you were. She'd still been herself- Kim Pine: bitchy, aloof, and sarcastic, with a corrosive tongue that loved to lash out- but with Scott she'd felt so warm, and she knew deep down that she'd let herself thaw a little, in that time. She'd been less cold in ways Lauren had called her on immediately, much to her displeasure, but she hadn't been able to deny it, then. She still couldn't now, really; she was just better at masking it. She liked to think she was, at least.

She missed feelings like that- the warmth; the carefree nature in which they'd spend their time together. The way he would look at her stunned and flush after she'd tease him over some stupid comment he'd made, or how he'd turn away whenever Kim would catch him staring at her during class...

She hates the way it still feels warm now, thinking back. Warmth paired with the uncomfortable hole in her chest- a paradoxically heavy weight to an emptiness, expanding outward, trying to numb itself and failing miserably- only spreading the fire. Though there are none, Kim finds herself rubbing at her eyes, concerned that she might find tears there.

You need to stop doing this, she thinks to herself, as ineffectively as always. The thought has no weight if she doesn't put effort into making it actionable; she knows, because she's thought it so many times before. It was high school, Kim. It clearly meant nothing to him. Let it be nothing for you, too. Please? It'd be easier.

She spends a couple minutes trying to pull herself together, picking at loose threads along the edge of her skirt. The feeling continues to linger, however, so she simply sucks it up and starts in on her reply.

Don't worry about it, guy; dreams take us a lot of places we don't intend. It's not really creepy- honestly maybe expected, with us talking like this. Hope it was a pleasant one. And it's alright, I think. I get where you're coming from, too. I mean, I've dated around, but it's hard to find genuine connection with people. The kind I crave, at least. You'll need to kill me before I admit anything beyond that, though, heh. No problem, and also thanks, I suppose. Though I have my doubts on how true of a statement that is.

She's not entirely certain if she's satisfied with her answer by the time she's done, but she shrugs and sends it anyway, too tired to give it much more thought. Maybe a nap will fix me... she wonders to herself, eventually moving to lay curled up on her side facing the wall.

She would try for a while, but sleep would elude her; instead, a reel of memories plays back in her mind, haunting her with a distant, hopeful version of herself. How naive...

4. what was the last straw that made you finally block that annoying person?

genderbending saren to make kryterius m/f like a fucking coward*. tagged me in wip games featuring her sharterius work when i am very openly and vocally an aggressive hater of that ship and also wrote saren horrifically ooc. other annoying crimes. finally rbed a post from me and tagged it as being about "milf saren" and i lost it and blocked goodbye

*note: i enjoy a good gb fic myself, there's a few from ye olde kmeme that i still like, but she ONLY wrote kryterius as gb m/f and didn't ever interact with my stuff for them that was m/m which reeks of bad implications to me. go away straight

7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?

kaidan. kaidan kaidan kaidan. the ONLY way i managed to save him for myself was retreating from fandom and finding a few sane shenko mutuals (they know who they are). he's a good fun character! i enjoy writing him! he's my friend! but my god shenkos (and frankly ESPECIALLY mshenkos) make me hate him so much.

garrus also started to suffer this fate but tragically there are no sane shakarians only ex-shakarians who migrated to the niche corner (mwah) so instead i had to just ship him in a rarepair nobody likes but me, quite literally i'm making the fucking tag, that's the only thing that's saved him and tbh i still kinda worry im not writing him in character

12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them

i mean really. is there any other character i COULD talk about. look at my entire brand here.

the councilors in general have WAY more character than they're given credit for, especially the original three who have 3 games of dialogue to work with instead of just 1 for the replacement three, and i could honestly do an entire essay for each of them, but let's stick to grandpa for now. putting this under a cut i went insane

this man is the ONLY councilor who's actually DOING HIS FUCKING JOB CORRECTLY. he's the one who's always trying to stick to the law and uphold it, tevos's hand-wringing about diplomacy be damned, especially in the first game. he's a representative of the people and he CARES about the people, every SINGLE time he scolds you in the first game and when he makes his dramatic entrance in udina's office in the third he's specifically concerned with the public at large:

after feros he's concerned that you only intervened because it's a human colony, and wants to be certain you aren't going to just ignore non-humans and will protect the galaxy at large, not just humans

after therum he's reasonably worried that liara is working with her mother and you've just helped a huge threat to the galaxy walk free

after noveria, if you killed the rachni queen he's reasonably concerned about why you just acted without any sort of "yo heads up" call or advice, whereas if you saved her. YEAH NO SHIT HE'S WORRIED ABOUT THAT ACTUALLY did you hear all the reasons the rachni returning should be a much bigger deal than the game treats it of course he's like "that's extremely fucked up why would you do that"

at the start of me3 he is the ONLY one of all 4 councilors to actively, directly state that people are scared and it's their duty as galactic leaders to stay calm and protect their people, indirectly calling out udina for calling him a coward because udina demanding help for earth and ignoring the alien worlds is doing the exact same thing he's complaining about them doing in turn

keep in mind that from his perspective in me1 YOU ARE LITERALLY A POLITICAL POWER PLAY. you literally get the job because udina wants a human spectre and it's convenient to send you after saren, you didn't actually go through the proper process to be vetted and confirmed, for all they know you're every inch as human-centric and unconcerned with aliens as every other alliance twat they've met at this point. and the alliance, via hackett and anderson's attitudes, REGULARLY prove that all they care about is having somebody who can ignore the law! and depending on how you play the game you can in fact confirm that you shouldn't have been given this authority and are just doing shady shit for hackett that he can't do on the level! you can in fact PROVE SPARKY RIGHT! high-renegade shepard actually fucking proves why sparky was right to vote no on you i will die on this hill

he's also the only one to actually fucking help you in the third game right away. literally goes behind the others' backs to do it. they just voted "nah we have to worry about our own people first" and he swooces right around with a solid first step for you to take and a clear understanding that everyone has to work together regardless of udina being a lil bitch. everyone who likes those mods/edits of doing air quotes and "ah yes, reapers"-ing him back to mock him in this scene is my enemy and also a fucking idiot you don't mock the person who is 1) actively trying to help you and 2) YOUR LITERAL BOSS SHUT UPPPPP

speaking of ah yes reapers. he's justified in saying that. i dont care what whiny little princesses your shepards are. he's been dealing with anderson for TWO FUCKING YEARS who has literally not shut the fuck up about it, when inciting galactic panic is the LAST thing they should be doing. of course he's tired. of course he's annoyed this is coming up again. the man has been putting up with this for two fucking years he wants to go back to bed.

ALSO in the opening scroll in 2 it's in fact strongly implied they DO believe you but are keeping quiet to avoid a panic ("the official story") and then the archives in citadel dlc confirm it with the secret spectres-only edition of sovereign's entry. they're not fucking ignoring you or dismissing the threat they're trying to avoid GALAXY-WIDE PANIC YOU FUCKING MORONS

also he has some BITCHING quotes, these two are my favorites they're burned into my brain:

For RP: Starters, plotting or inbox things are by far the easiest. If you happen to have a meme that fits Naoto, perfect. I don’t usually send other people memes because it’s usually something Naoto would never say or it requires a degree of pre-established relationship I don’t feel comfortable jumping into without discussion. I have a special hatred for people who constantly reblog memes like “shit my roommate says at 3 AM” though. I honestly do not know what you’re expecting from me if you follow me and you’re that kind of person. Like you do realize Naoto is a killjoy right-

WHAT EXPECTATIONS DO YOU HOLD TOWARDS YOUR PLOTTING PARTNER?: Just give me some ideas. I don’t care how dumb it is. I need to know what you don’t like too, so we can avoid those topics in the future. I also ask that you don’t try to make your muse better than Naoto in certain aspects, like being a smartass detective. Unless your muse is Sherlock Holmes or another genius detective, I will punch you in the dick if you say your muse is a better detective than Naoto is.

And if you’re only following me so your muse can collect one of them ‘sad snarky muses who needs friendship’, and add Naoto to the collection, just leave dude.

WHEN YOU NOTICE THE PLOTTING IS RATHER ONE-SIDED, WHAT DO YOU DO?: I usually just mention that I think we’re done for now, then change the topic.

HOW DO YOU USUALLY PLOT WITH OTHERS, DO YOU GIVE INPUT OR LEAVE MOST WORK TOWARDS YOUR PARTNER?: I try to add my own input because leaving it up to one person is an RP 101 no go. This hobby requires communication and making sure both sides have fun, so it’s important to talk about my own side of things and work it out with my writing partner.

WHEN A PARTNER DROPS THE THREAD, DO YOU WISH TO KNOW?: YES / NO / DEPENDS. - AND WHY?: If it was an important thread that was relevant to our plot, then yes, I’d like to know so we can both be on the same page and talk about how our characters will change after that. Other than that, nah. With how many threads I have and the fact that I don’t use thread tracker, I tend to forget what I have out in the wild unless I see it in my activity feed.

However, I hate it when people follow, show interest in writing with me, then all of a sudden, act like I don’t exist while still following me. If you’re not interested anymore, just softblock. It’s a waste of time for me to try and give you opportunities when you’re clearly ignoring my presence on your dashboard.

Tangent aside, if we’re just writing partners, i don’t expect much communication between us. If we plot constantly and consider each other friendly writing partners/friends, then yes, communication is important.

WHY DO YOU RP AGAIN, IS THERE A GOAL?: I initially came here to improve Naoto for my never-to-be-finished fanfic. I was planning to bail once I felt like she was ‘good’ enough, but that hasn’t happened yet, so I guess I’m here to stay for an indefinite amount of time, or until I lose steam for Naoto lol. Or I get hit with one of those moods where I question what the point of RPing Naoto is and go do some solo stuff and disappear for a week. Who knows.

WISHLIST, BE IT PLOTS OR SCENARIOS: You can find some stuff here. A lot of these require some kind of friendship stat with Naoto so they aren’t helpful in the slightest, so I’m always down for arcana swaps. I gotta have one approachable Naoto somewhere, even if people won’t be aware of her existence because canon is the only thing that matters. I never remember to write down half of the things I want to write so you can just bug me if you want to see what I like writing.

THEMES I WON’T EVER RP / EXPLORE: I feel like I’m going to forget to list a lot of things, but basically, whatever Persona covers, I can do. I absolutely will not do any fetish things.

WHAT TYPE OF STARTERS DO YOU PREFER / DISLIKE, CAN’T WORK WITH?: I don’t know if people do the ‘bumping into each other’ types of starters anymore, but there you go. It’s okay to put our muses into something unexplainable, like some haunted house. It’ll be fine and wouldn’t you know it, Naoto would have a reason to talk to them there.

WHAT TYPE OF CHARACTERS CATCH YOUR INTEREST THE MOST?: I’m just going to be lazy and say that as long as your muse is from the Megaten universe, then yeah, you’ve caught most of my interest. Then it all depends on your characterization. I don’t mind crossovers at all, but we all know why I don’t like following people outside of the Megaten fandom first.

WHAT TYPE OF CHARACTERS CATCH YOUR INTEREST THE LEAST?: Assholes who are assholes for the sake of being assholes. Like I get it, you love your asshole muse who will care about one character ever. No need to constantly shove it down my throat like it’s a revolutionary fact or act like I don’t remember this kind of thing.

ARE YOU OKAY WITH PRE-ESTABLISHED RELATIONSHIPS?: YES / NO / DEPENDS. (If you want a pre-established relationship, I highly suggest that you come to me about it. Otherwise, I’ll do it the old fashioned way with first meetings and all of that. Even then, unless Naoto has a reason to talk to your muse after the initial thread, she’s not going to seek them out for a chat. So I guess your muse having a meaningful relationship with Naoto requires plotting if they don’t have the Investigation Team cheat code.)

WHAT COULD POSSIBLY MAKE YOUR MUSE INTERESTING TOWARDS OTHERS, WHY SHOULD THEY RP WITH THIS PARTICULAR CHARACTER OF YOURS NOW, WHAT POSSIBLE PLOTS DO THEY OFFER?: She’s a detective......... that’s basically I can offer you lol. Other than that I got nothing tbh. She’s just one of those characters you NEED TO PLOT WITH LIKE I’VE SAID MULTIPLE TIMES ON HERE.

WITH WHAT TYPE OF MUSES DO YOU USUALLY STRUGGLE TO RP WITH?: I mentioned it already, but asshole muses who are just assholes for the sake of being one. It doesn’t matter if they’re a villain or not. If there is no substance to their dynamic with Naoto, I won’t continue it. Besides, once Naoto sees your muse is an asshole, she will never want to talk to them ever again.

Now this is not related to muse, but mun. If your characterization is not consistent, I will also find it difficult to write with you. For example, you can’t have your muse be an asshole and then backpedal and say they “aren’t actually” once you see that Naoto dislikes your muse. If you are upset that Naoto hates your muse, the one you cultivated to be an asshole, then just don’t make an asshole muse. If you don’t like that Naoto is :/ towards your muse, I have some news for you. She’s like that to practically everyone... Give her time... A breather... Some slack...

WHAT DO THEY DESIRE, WHAT IS THEIR GOAL?: She just wants a good crumb of respect, someone to accept her, recognize her talent instead of seeing her as a bratty kid, you know. Her main goal is to make sure she honors her family name.

WHAT CATCHES THEIR INTEREST FIRST WHEN MEETING SOMEONE NEW?: How your muse reacts, their body language, etc. Even with the nicest of characters, she’ll never seek them out unless she has a reason to, but she will be more or less willing to talk to them depending on what she sees.

WHAT DO THEY VALUE IN A PERSON?: Honesty...

WHAT THEMES DO THEY LIKE TALKING ABOUT?: I think it depends on how well she knows a muse and what direction a conversation goes. Other than that, it’s hard to say.

WHICH THEMES BORE THEM?: She doesn’t care for small talk or being lectured by a complete stranger. Fate is another thing she has no interest in, which is ironic considering her canon arcana is the Wheel of Fortune and the Personas you can get from the Fortune arcana are the Fates.

IS THERE SOMEONE /-THING THEY HATE?: People who belittle her and don’t take her seriously are high on the list. Same with irredeemable criminals. Other things like being teased are mild annoyances.

IS YOUR MUSE EASY TO APPROACH?: YES / NO. - BEST WAY TO APPROACH THEM?: Just talk to her. She can be a little blunt and distant, but as long as you show politeness, she’ll do the same. Come at her with aggression and she’ll respond with it back.

For specifics, in a setting where your muse doesn’t express any intent on wanting to know her, she’s not difficult to approach. It’s when your muse wants to know her that she begins to push back and makes things difficult. Even with family, friends and S/O’s, she still has a hard time opening up. She’s mean, but she’s not going to be an asshole for no reason.

SOMETHING YOU MAY STILL WANT TO POINT OUT ABOUT YOUR MUSE?: I don’t know what else to say other than Naoto isn’t the easiest person to be friends with or have a normal conversation with. A lot of my threads with her are basically me forcing her into situations because she would probably never willingly interact with anyone outside of a ‘professional detective’ setting. This sounds mean and I have mentioned this ad nauseam, but if Naoto doesn’t know your muse in canon, plotting is the only way you can get a substantial dynamic with her, my dudes.

TWO. I have ADHD and as such, I will answer asks / respond to threads as I get the muse for them. It's nothing personal if I don't get to something of ours right away, it's just hard for me to focus at times!

THREE. Sometimes I will drop threads without warning and it's nothing personal, I just lose muse. I'm more than willing to start up a new thread. The best way to write with me is from sending memes or writing starters. I also like to plot and find that I'm more invested in threads this way.

To add to this: I do not view certain ‘callouts’ as ‘drama’. If someone is bringing attention to harmful behavior, that’s fine. I won’t hesitate to heed that person’s warning and acknowledge / reblog that post if I feel that it is necessary. The types of ‘callouts’ I find unnecessary are the ones where someone is just being petty and talking shit because they don’t like someone and/or are bullying them. That’s something you could handle privately and doesn’t need to be on the dash and/or just block the person and move on. I will not tell you who and who not to write with. I would much rather simply block anyone I wish not to see on my dash. That said, please do not hesitate to inform me if I'm interacting with someone who is a genuinely toxic individual.

- at first, he’s confused, lost; how did you find out his name? - he’s kept his real name a secret for the longest of time, how did you find out? - yes, you may be able to stand him, but how? - he’s arrogant, he’s not quite liked among his fellow colleagues, but you... you’re able to stand him; he doesn’t want you to know about his past or anything like that. - so please, don’t call him by that name. - he prefers scaramouche, that’s it. - he doesn’t want to be reminded of his past. - but thank you, for telling him. - at least, now you know. - and you can just use his preferred name ‘Scaramouche’.

At first, you weren’t sure if that it was his actual name - was it his real name? Questions ran through your head, your eyes scanning the male before you as you tried to understand if it was or not. He’s been your partner for a long time, so surely, he would’ve told you his actual name or not, right?

Yet, why do you feel like his name isn’t ‘Scaramouche’? (It probably wasn’t, and you know he once admitted that it was just a mere alias.)

You stared at him, looking down at the grounds of Inazuma, a slight frown placed upon your lips. You didn’t want to question the man, but you also did; it was difficult, it was hard, but you weren’t even sure of yourself at this point.

“And now... Hm?” the indigo-haired male paused, noticing your silence. “[Name], what’s the issue? You’re supposed to be listening!” he said, annoyed by your clear ignorance of his talk about the day (it really matters to him, okay?).

“Ah...” you blinked, looking at him, “...Hm, it’s nothing.” You shook your head, trying to refrain from asking his real name, because it wasn’t your business. If he wanted to tell you his actual name, then he’d tell you upon his own accordance: curiosity would always kill you in the endgame.

He scoffed, crossing his arms, narrowing his eyes towards you. “You take me for a fool?” he asked, raising a brow, “I would know when my partner is lost in his own thoughts, no?”

Your lips went into a thin line, a crease forming between your brows. Of course, you wanted to ask him, but it went against your beliefs and your morals. You didn’t want to intrude into his life or privacy - it’s his own (but he keeps edging it on, making you want to ask, but you shouldn’t).

He let out a small sigh, turning to face you fully, head tilted upwards (trying to make it seem like he was looking down on you), eyes narrowed even more. “As my partner, you are to tell me your thoughts, fully. And I demand to know them, right now,” he stated, his gaze hardening. “I will not leave until you do so.”

You stared at him, frowning.

“...But, Scaramouche...” you tried to protest, arguing back weakly, “It’s not important. Whatever’s troubling me isn’t important.”

“Your troubles...” he muttered quietly, “are important to me.”

Hands clenched and unclenched, before you released a quiet sigh, shoulders relaxing. “...Okay,” you nodded, “I’ll tell you; just, don’t get mad, okay?”

“Hah!” he threw his head back in mocking laughter, “As if I’d get mad!”

...You do get mad, you bit back your response, deadpanning, before letting out another breath. “...Is your name... Kunikuzushi?“

The silence you received is the only answer you can take before he said:

“I’m sorry, what? Just where did you even obtain this information?” he asked in disbelief. He’s unusually quiet, his eyes glaring into you. “If you heard it from the other Harbingers, then you must know that it’s a—”

“No, I... I found out, myself,” you said quickly. “I just... didn’t want to intrude into your personal life, that’s all. I wasn’t going to ask you about it until you... told me to...” Your voice lowered into a soft and quiet tone, not sure of what to say. You awkwardly looked away, rubbing your arm.

“Sorry,” you apologized, “if what I asked made you uncomfortable.”

“It’s...” he sighed heavily, hands falling limply to his sides, “It’s fine. It doesn’t bother me as much as it did before. If you had asked me a long time ago, you wouldn’t even be standing.”

You let out a laugh full of disbelief, sweating profusely, “I... I would never, Scaramouche.”

“...Thank you,” he breathed, “I don’t quite like the name Kunikuzushi anymore. I prefer... Scaramouche more, now. My old name reminds me of my past, and I don’t want to think about it anymore. It fills me with...”

You cut him off, giving him a small smile, “It’s okay. You don’t have to talk about it; the past is the past, correct?” You put your hand on his shoulder with uncertainty, not sure if he’d allow you to touch him or not. When he didn’t make any reaction, you continued to speak, “We’re partners now, therefore, what matters is now. Thank you, for at least telling me what you prefer.”

Scaramouche stared at you, eyes widening a smidge before they went back to its original state, and he lets out a huff, a hint of a smile on his face. He closed his eyes, crossing his arms as he looked down at the floor.

“Heh,” he chuckled, looking back up to you, a smirk placed upon his lips, “Since when were you good with words?”

“Since always,” you deadpanned.

“I don’t believe that.”

There was a certain weight lifted off of his shoulders, but he didn’t want to tell you that. He’d tell you that for a different time, considering what mattered was now (your words, not his); he’d make the best of it, for now.

He’d also tell you that sometime later.

But ooc doesn't exist because of the very fact that fictional characters are blank pages. What is Bakugou, Deku, Suna, every single character, if not the qualities a creator gives them? How do you even define what IN character is? Is it anything the original author says it is? So if Horikoshi changed Bkg and made him despise antagonism and challenges, made him hate action and adventures, made him a go lucky person who loves to smile and brighten up people's days, would that still be in character because the author was the one making the chances? It would be completely 'canon' would it not? Even if it goes against everything of what we've seen so far, you can't call it ooc because Bakugou is exactly that, malleable and a blank canvas that can made into whatever you want it to, and it would still be Bakugou no matter what. (Bakugou is just an example, same goes for all characters) also this isn't personal, it's just a response to the whole 'ooc point'.

i really don't know how else to explain this. ill answer this ask but we can agree to disagree at a certain point. i explained what i was trying to say why i don't agree with this point in general because this whole concept is a strawman argument. you're comparing things that don't have direct correlation which is an authors creative agency and a skill related to fictional writing.

this isn't about the logistics of creative writing, i said in my original reply that you can indeed do whatever you want. you can turn bakugou into a pretty princess who speaks in only in riddles. horikoshi can do that too, if he wants and that would indeed be canon if that we're the case but that's not the point of something being ooc or calling something ooc.

characterization is a facet of creative writing and consistent characterization that aligns with what we know to be an established characters moral values and lifestyle is a skill in that. being able to make characters respond to situations in a way that feels accurate to what we know and understand about them thus far is part of being able to write well. it's a subset skill like having a consistent flow, or being able to "show not tell" or setting up good subplots

"even if it goes against everything of what we've seen so far, you can't call it ooc because bakugou is exactly that" sure, if horikoshi decided tomorrow to be release a chapter that established bakugou as a happy-go-lucky himbo then that would indeed but canon

but that would also make horikoshi a bad writer, because it goes against what we as the audience have established to be bakugou. it would still decidedly be ooc to almost everyone who has read up to now. yes the author has the authority to do that, but that doesn't mean that doing won't creative cognitive dissonance in the audience. im really not sure how else to verbalize this

And I loved how you made this HUUUUGE plot twist with Cinderella! Are you doing the same with the next princesses? And about the side stories!! Are there more to come? I'm sorry if I'm being annoying, but I'm so loving all you do!!

My, these are important questions xD This is way too long to answer normally, so I'm writing all you want to know under the cut! I'm sorry, It is really long. I apologize in advance :')

If you have some spare time and are curious about this stuff of my legacy story, check this out. It my explain some things, hehe.

1. WORLDBUILDING

There is a "complex and connected" universe in this, yes, but I do not limit a story to the same sim world. I imagine certain game worlds as specific areas with their own social problems, forms of government and characteristic population. Still, I jump from world to world using specific lots or scenery places thay might complement the current chapters or, if I happen to need it, I'll rebuild the whole world again for upcoming generations if I'm already done with the previous ones.

For example:

In Snow White (the H.E.A. founder) the story developed in Windenburg and Windenburg only. Not even the whole world was used for the story, only three lots (The White Manor, Eis' cottage and the flower shop).

Cinderella and The Princess and The Frog develop in Willow Creek, but it's not the same Willow Creek. The only permanent lots are the royal palace and a couple of residential lots (the Tremaine and Bonfamille manors), but I redesigned the whole world for each arc. Ella's story took place in a more high-class victorian part of the kingdom, and Tiana's will be in a New Orlean-ish, humble zone with some vip spots. The townies are different and the social situation changes as well. I'll be also using specific locations from Windenburg, implying those scenes are still having place in some other unknown part of Willow Creek.

In some upcoming generations, I'm merging worlds into a whole area. In Rapunzel and The Beauty and The Beast, Glimmerbrook, Granite Falls and Henford-On-Bagley, as well as specific Windenburg areas, share the same territory.

This is a bit confusing, but it works for me :'D So far, this is how I've organized the story world in the save (mild spoilers):

Willow Creek + Magnolia Promenade: Kingdom ruled by a strong monarchy. Population: Humans and Hybrids** Connections with: Britechester, Newcrest.

Oasis Springs + Strangerville: Emirate and local mayoralties. Population: Humans, spellcasters, undercover aliens. No near connections.

Brindleton Bay: Mayoralty. Population: Humans and Hybrids. Connections with: Henford-On-Bagley, San Myshuno (not that close, but reachable).

Mt. Komorebi: Parlamentarism. Isolated area of the mountains. Population: Humans. Connections with: Granite Falls (veeeery lightly).

San Myshuno + Del Sol Valley: Presidency and Mayoralty. Population: Humans and undercover occults (Gods**, Spellcasters, Hybrids). Connections: Newcrest.

Windenburg: Parlamentarism. Population: Humans, Hybrids, Vampires. Connections with: Henford-On-Bagley, Glimmerbrook, Granite Falls.

Sulani: Principality and local chiefdoms. Population: Humans, Mermaids, Gods. No near connections.

Forgotten Hollow: Mayoralty. Population: Vampires and Spellcasters. No near connections.

Selvadorada: Republic. Population: Humans, Hybrids and Spellcasters. No near connections.

Evergreen Harbor: Mayoralty. Population: Humans, undercover aliens, cyborgs. Connections with: San Myshuno. If there is ever a future-like pack, it will be related to this area.

Britechester: Grand Duchy. Population: Humans. Connections with: Willow Creek, Windenburg.

2. CHARACTERS

I will mainly play with the "princesses", yes! I'm following these Disney Legacy Challenge rules as a main guideline, so the heirs are related to that. Even so, they won't always have the same looks or gender like the cartoon ones, nor the spouses. Since I'm a nerd, I try to surround the heirs with familiar characters from their stories, but they might be ooc or don't have the same role as they do in the movies. I just want to create the vibes, but give them my own twist!

I thought it would be fun to create a Disney movie themed save for this challenge, and I'm stil adding recreations of a lot of characters thay may fit in the world. Since I really enjoy rotational gameplay, I thought it would be fun to create mini challenges for certain households and play them aside from the main legacy to have a little change and relax. Buuuuuuuuut every single time I play this game a story pops up in my head, and yes, so far there is one side story with some of the minor characters. I'm afraid my save has turned into a graphic feverdream disney fanfiction, but here we are :'D It is important to say I also play with the EA premade townies, so this is a weeeeirddd mashup :')

Since I have the characters roaming around freely, they also interact with the main legacy and, in some cases, they even gain some importance. In Cinderella's case, I never planned Mr. La Bouff to become Ella's friend. My original plan was to have Tia and Lottie meet at university. Also! I created two fake occults: the Hybrids (think of were!Sims. Like Werecats, Werefishes, Werewolves, Werebirds... you get the idea... it'll be properly explained in the future. No, they don't turn into animals.) and the Gods (squish vampires, mermaids and spellcasters together. Now make them OP and immortal).

So far, I've included characters from:

The Aristocats, Finding Nemo, Peter Pan, 101 Dalmatians, Tarzan, Robin Hood, Alice in Wonderland, Coco, Pinocchio, Big Hero 6, Lilo & Stitch, Hocus Pocus, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Jungle Book, Toy Story, Cars, The Emperor's New Groove, Atlantis.

I had the intention of presenting them all and giving them out for download. I've been slowly makeovering them, so I hope I can manage to do so in the near future.

3. STORYTELLING

The plot twist was kind of a happy accident xD It wasn't planed at all! It's just I find it not-that-exciting to retell the same old story again and again. Cinderella is poor and mistreated, but then marries the prince and she's happy. We all know that, right? I don't intend to follow the same path... I need chaos to keep me entertained in my own game xD that's why I went like "welll.... what IF the prince is a bit of an ass?" I didn't see the whole load of drama that would come.

In the upcoming chapters, things are being similar. I don't say everything is going to be bittersweet, but I'll take elements from the main story and shape them differently. I'm taking a lot of creative liberties here!

4. SIDE STORIES

Im so glad you like them!! I get attached to my characters as soon as I start playing with them and can't help myself from giving them a story, even a little one. It's like... they're in my save for a reason, right? Not only as townie fillers, even if that was the main purpose in the beginning. It's safe to say there is one WIP side story with the Tremaine descendants involving some of the characters I mentioned before. I have another one in mind, but since it is not related with the main legacy at all I'm still not sure how to include it... but I'm working on it.

You can bet I'll keep telling these silly little stories because I really can't help it, hehe.

1) This really depends. Like with fanfiction, I’m pretty sure my characters deviate quite a lot from the persons I write about but I try to keep certain mannerisms. For keeping the characteristics that I have given my characters, I try to stay inside that but in the end, humans don’t make sense half the time so oocness is kinda human?? idk if this rant helped lmao

2) this also really depends. I love doing unnecessary research but some pieces don’t need that and are better written on just vibes alone. Everlong for a example is a good mix. It’s highly based on vibes but I also do research for the details like the clothing and the stuff they do and things they interact with. Back 2 U is mostly vibes and for Love Shot I did a decent amount of research on Hockey lmao

3) I honestly don’t remember. I think I always made up stories in my head since I was in what would be middle school probably about my crushes and stuff 😂 and one day I just started writing all of that down and then I went through various fandoms where I’ve mostly read fanfiction until I started writing for a bunch of them and now I’m here. Writing is just my creative outlet, I think if I wouldn’t write and create, I’d just burst.

4) I started publishing stuff when I was around 16 or 15 maybe? When I first went from original written stuff over to fanfiction. That’s when I started publishing. Back then I wrote in my native language. Then I fell out of love with writing for a while until I picked it up again for Kpop and started to write in English and published that pretty directly. I don’t think I had anything that pushed me to do it, I just wanted to do it, so I did it 😂 the comments of course make it worthwhile

I still don’t know why so many people follow me but my best tip is just to keep going. If you keep posting consistently, people will start recognizing you and you’ll get better and better because practice makes perfect. All my works I’ve ever published are still up, so you can see my journey on here 😂

Opinion on;

Character in general: UGGGHHHH. He is the juggernaut of Final Fantasy, period, and whatever opinion I rattle off doesn't feel valid. I don't know how to explain it. I know him from SO MUCH MEDIA and it's conflicting and messy and when you put it all together it doesn't all make perfect sense. I immensely enjoy his character though, he isn't the perfect hero and he even shies away from that. I'm also certain that FFVII on PS1 was my introduction to characters in a videogame carrying trauma and when I first played through I know that I didn't fully understand what had happened because I was so young when I played it. Though around the time I replayed it in highschool I walked away with a better understanding and to the people who call this guy cool / dark / edgy all I can say is mosey on and play the original game.

How they play them: SAYJ has a very clear voice when roleplaying Cloud. I am certain I have commented this before, I saw their writing and immediately could hear their Cloud and it wasn't just any version of him, it was the hot mess that is from OG. Not going to lie I very quickly 👀💖 jumped at the chance for some small interactions. He's MEAN. He's ruthless, point A to point B and if he has to use his buster sword to carve a path he will. He can be the most stubborn ass known to man. HOWEVER he still has heart. His love language is through his protectiveness and acts of service, while ALL OF THE ABOVE is still going on. He doesn't just soften and become a ball of fluff to those he gets along with. He can be very rough to handle but honestly that's part of the charm???

The writer: SAYJ is [I answer but a truck drives by honking its horn the entire time]. Okay but for real. Recently, as in yesterday, we both had this revelation that we were scurrying around the other like we were imposters trying to act cool and like Real Writers™ because we both saw the other replying and 'fuck' [picks up keyboard and rattles it] 'uhh hhh how do.. reply to that.. so good ffff..' And I really feel like I have clicked with them on a spiritual level. We get each other. We're both on our respective blogs, SAYJ slamming out shitposts and me smashing out my tunnel-vision aesthetics and peppering some Actual Writing™ between that. Also I feel like I could walk into their IMs and SCREAM AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS about the most obscure thing and they'd scream back, which is a fucking treasure.

RP with them: Ah fuck. Shit. I think so??? It's so dark with these sunglasses, I've either been replying to cloudvii or clouduii and honestly I'm too afraid to question it at this point because they keep replying so we've got a good thing going on.

Overall Opinion: High Quality blog, 20/10, so stoked I got a dose of 'imposter syndrome' when I was knee deep in because I would have missed out on such an amazing opportunity to develop this writing relationship and ooc friendship that. Chef's kiss. Love how our gremlins interact. Love how we interact. The entirety of how we interact from the outside looking in is SAYJ face first on the floor and me stumbling blindly around and I wouldn't change that for a damn thing.

“Hey, Todoroki.” I looked at the split haired boy.

We recently become, friends? He doesn’t do much talking rather then listening and staring.

“Hm?” He hummed his answer back.

“How tough is your dad?” I asked pulling my long sleeves into the center of my palms.

“If your not up to his standards he will break you down and remold you in a way that leave you feeling empty for his own sick pleasure of being able to take down the number one hero.” Todoroki kept a straight face but his voice was colder.

“Okay then.” I nodded and kept following. “Why didn’t you stop me when I said I wanted to take this offer?”

“The thought of being alone with my own father was unbearable. With the company of someone I know and am comfortable with, I thought it would be easier.” He didn’t look at me.

May heart warmed, the company of someone he’s comfortable with, usually he just refers to me as someone he knows. I smiled, and looked down.

“Honestly I don’t think he wanted me, It was probably some mistake.” I shrugged.

“So are you sure your okay with my crush on your dad and being this close?” I asked nudging his shoulder with my own.

He let out the friendly version of a scoff, “Just don’t do anything weird when I’m around.”

He nudged me back and I grinned, “Got it, keep the weirdness of the down low.”

We stopped in he shadow of a large building.

“It’s huge,” I felt a familiar line coming, “Sure it’s big enough, but just look at the location.”

I laughed at my reference, Shoto let out like two laughs before he gave me a look.

“Oh right, no weirdness got it.” I coughed to clear my throat.

“We should watch another DreamWorks or Pixar movie. Or like go to Univesal, I’ve only ever been to the one in Florida, and I live in Japan you would think this would be the Universal I got to but no.” I talked to Todorki.

He nodded not really listening but taking it in. Then, we entered the Lobby. There he was, all six foot four and two hundred and forty pounds of daddy.

“Shoto.” He greeted his son.

“You must be (L/n),” he eyes me, I felt nervous but if it showed he’d probably shun me.

So instead I took a deep breath, stood straight and puffed out my chest. I looked him dead in the eye and did a quick bow.

“Yes Sir, I’m (Y/n) (L/n) of Class 1-A” I held my breath, if I die, it’s because he rejected me.

“Well, you know how to present yourself at least.” He scoffed and turned around.

I sighed and deflated, I looked at Todoroki, he had a faint smile but nodded at me.

“I’ll just follow you.” I sighed catching my breath.

“Yeah, you did better then what others have done. They think submission is the way to go. No one understands that to work here you need to be assertive but respectful...” Shoto said looking down.

“Why would you want a coward for a Hero?” I asked out my left hand on his right shoulder. “Also it’s probably a bad time but I’m hungry.”

I whispered the last part hoping Endeavor wouldn’t hear me.

The day passed quickly, we learned what we’d be doing. I’d go on patrols with whatever hero I could, and do coffee runs for the office. I mean I didn’t work myself to the bone to be a secretary. Endeavor took Shoto away so I wouldn’t even have anyone to talk to. I huffed and made my way to the elevator.

“Stupid coffee, stupid card, stupid barista, stupid man who bumped into me and made me go back to buy more coffee.” I mumbled and stepped into the elevator.

My phone rang, “Hello?” I asked.

“Yes, (y/n)?” It was the secretary from the floor Endeavor was on.

“Yes, how can I help you?” I asked the same line over and over.

“The meeting is about to begin, do you have the coffee and breads?”

“YES,” I seethed through my teeth aggravated as the elevator stopped and no one was there.

“I’m coming up right now.” I spoke through clenched teeth.

“Alright, thank you.” She spoke.

“ITS YOUR JOBS TO GET COFFEE AND RUN ORDERS NOT MINE KAREN! IM A STUDENT WHO IS SUPPOSED TO LEARN ABOUT THE HERO WOLRD NOT BE A STUPID SECRETARIES ASSISTANT!”

I stripped my cloak off, revealing the mesh bodysuit I wore under leggings, and the other things I wore. I tightened the black strips of fabric around my wrist and began fidgeting.

“You’re late.” Endeavors message Pushed it.

I rushed out of the elevator and to the secretaries desk, “Do your job you lazy scum I shouldn’t have to run coffee and bread and papers back and forth, I’m on an internship you get paid to do this I’m not here to do your job I’m here to learn what being a hero is like.”

I slapped my cloak onto her desk, the coffee splashed onto her crisp white shirt and stained her papers. I turned and rushed down the hall to the meeting room. I shoved the door open and gently placed the coffee and bread on the table. I turned to Endeavor, he seemed aggravated at my disturbance.

“Sir, you look aggravated,” I played and stepped in his direction, “Maybe you should take a break.”

I faked worry, Todoroki was staring at me and whoever was at the other end of the table was staring.

“Maybe you should take a break, it’s what I do when I’m aggravated.” I looked at him, anger emitting from him.

I sat on the table, “I mean, today, I’ve taken it all, someone’s wrong breakfast order, all over the back on my cloak, four cups of hot coffee to my chest and stomach. A perverted man harassing and then groping me when I was running papers for your secretary.”

I crossed my right leg over my left leg, “Every patrol opportunity I was given, has been cancelled, or I was told I was not allowed to go.”

I looked at to my left, there sat the guest, I smiled and nodded. It was hawks.

“Hello, hope your having a good day, would you like some bread?” I offered the bag.

He took it and offered some to Tokoyami.

“Also, I have gained little to no experience, I have five days to learn something, and so far everyone who works here acts like they hate me, and honestly I’m starting to hate it here.” I smiled at Endeavor.

“So, I quit.” I tossed my tag at him.

He caught it with one hand, he watched me as I slid off the table.

I walked to the door, “Make sure Karen or whoever knows how you like your coffee, God forbid she have to run back to the coffeeshop five times in an hour.” I snarled and slammed the door open.

I walked out before I heard laughing, And then a growl. I took the stairs and rolled my eyes, I’ll just call Aizawa and study under him if it comes to it. I’ll even take Present if it comes to it. Making to the lobby I looked down at my phone. I opened it to call the contact number Aizawa gave us, just as I went to push call my phone was snatched. I looked up to meet golden eyes and glasses.

“Your boss is looking for you babe, better go back.” He laughed and his red wings flared slightly.

I stared at them, “nice wings, be a shame to lose them.” I said and ‘reached’ for my phone.

He pulled his hand back and left me and opening, between his shoulder and neck I reached right over and touch his wings. His eyes widened as his wings closed to his back.

And some sprouted from my own back with sick cracks.

“What did you do?” He asked.

“Give it an hour, you’ll be fine.” I shrugged and took my phone out of his hand.

“She is able to permanently copy quirks of others if she can touch it physically. It leaves her opponent at a disadvantage of not being to use their own quirk for a certain amount of time.” Tokoyami said and stepped around.

“Must be nice having a chill guy for a boss.” I told Tokoyami.

He sighed and closed his eyes.

“Hey, Get back here I don’t wanna do this alone.” -❄️🔥

I sighed and turned around to the elevator, “Todoroki needs help.”

I got into the elevator and headed back up. Todoroki was outside his dads office, I haven’t even been in there.

He had a huge smile on his face, I pouted.

“I wanna go home.” I smacked my head into the closest wall.

“Yeah, no. He wants to talk to you so have fun.” Todoroki opened the door and waited for you to go.

“Come with me.” You whispered.

“Ok.” So you took a deep breath and walked in, only to hear.

“Yeet.” And the door closing.

Did, Shoto just yeet?

I looked up, Endeavor was standing in a window, the sun casting its glow over him. He was taking out over the city. It’s a sight I’d like to enjoy if I weren’t so aggravated.

“Sit down, we have a lot to discuss.” His voice tumbled and I sighed.

“Alright.” I was tired of taking orders, he didn’t specify what seat so I took his desk chair and turned in it to face him.

“What?” I asked.

He turned to me, and with a very hard stare told me to get out of his seat. I sighed and got up and stood by his desk.

“Why are you upset, you embarrassed me and my agency in front of guests.” He said and sat down, his legs spread a bit for comfort.

“Well Incase you didn’t understand, I’m just a secretary. I didn’t come here to be a secretary.” I sassed looking at him.

“I see,” he turned him his chair towards me.

“Come here.” He pointed in-front of his lap.

I flushed and hesitated, but walked over.

“Get on your knees.”

I dropped and looked down I couldn’t stand the embarrassment.

“Give me your hand.” I prepared my self for lewd actions.

I flinched feeling a burning sensation as a loud smack filled the room. I looked up at him tears in my eyes from the pain. He held a thick flat stick. It resembled a ruler, he placed it on his desk.

“Stand up,” I stood and tried not to flinch.

“Your going to wait here while I rearrange the schedule.” I nodded and turned to go Alejandro the desk.

“I said wait here.” He grabbed my wrist and pulled me down into his lap.

I was burning, this is embarrassing. He leaned foreword, his arms came around my shoulders and his chin on my shoulder. I watched him move papers and write down a few things. It was hot, Why was I so nervous. There’s no way this is real right?

Sitting in the lap of the number two hero, my crush, best friends dad in his office at his agency? I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding.

Well things didn’t get worse, but they got slightly better.

✩ INTERVIEW WITH THE MUN ✩

➊ How many ships do you have on this blog?

I don’t know, let’s count! I’ve been writing some super fun GabrielxBobby stuff with @multimuse-rp, and that good (complicated) GabrielxDean shit with @awaywardboy-andhisangel and actually... that’s all the canonxcanon ship stuff I’m writing right now for some reason. But that’s not all the ships! Fulfilling a years long dream (for me) @daedaluscried and I are writing GabrielxAri and she has also indulged some excellet (unrequited) GabrielxEve content, @thxwxlf and I have dabbled in some GabrielxKekipi, and @inferniangod has been kind enough to write GabrielxIfrit with me.

I’ve discussed, but not actually written GabrielxSam with @smmie, and I think @hellsmother and I are on track to write some GabrielxRowena (but if I’m not sure I should probably check, whoops). So that’s six total, eight if you count these last two. Plus a handful of others where Gabriel is just flirting at people and waiting to see what happens. Nothing has to happen, he’s just like that. But something could happen with any of them.

➋ Have you ever roleplayed with someone that just left an unforgettable impression on you?

Of course! I’ve been doing this for 10+ years and people have made all kinds of impressions, some amazingly good and others downright awful. I can roll through some nicknames/first names only and proably only Anti will know who I’m talking about because a lot of them are from our shared history on gaiaonline! I could go on and on about every single one of these people but here’s a quick ‘n dirty list instead: Noir, Kathy, Mariah, Moose, Lyss, Berry, and @daedaluscried! I’m still occasionally in touch with three of these people (one more often than the other two) which I think is kind of wild all things considered. There’s also some not so good impressions, like guy-who-started-nice-and-then-harassed-me-for-nude-pics and the-person-who-broke-my-trust-and-caused-me-to-stop-writing-smut, but i have put them far far behind me.

➌ Which of your ships on this blog is the fluffiest?

The fluffiest is probaly Gabriel and Ari now that we’ve gotten into the emotional core of the relationship on both ends. Which isn’t to say that it’s not a spicy ship with a helping of angst, but... I’ve written more hand-holding with them than with any of the others and I guess that’s my definition of fluff. Also I suspect the gratuitous hand-holding will continue even once they’re past the language barrier. So... FLUFF.

➍ Would you say you’re a decent role player or do you have any self doubts?

I think I’m a decent writer but my roleplay skills vary depending on the day. I understand how to set a mood and (usually) how to string a decent sentence together but sometimes the craft that goes into bouncing off of another writer and giving them something to bounce off of in return eludes me.

➎ Have you made lots of friends on this blog?

More than I expected too. But when I set this blog up I thought ‘those days are behind me now’ so... one would be more than I expected.

➏ What’s the one thing you especially love about roleplaying your muse?

WRITING THE JOKES! And not just the verbal jokes he makes, I love writing jokes into my narration! Meta jokes! Dick jokes! Bad puns! All of it! I love it!! I also enjoy the way Gabriel interacts with the world around him. He rarely just stands in a scene and talks, he’s always moving and gesturing and doing stuff. I also love writing his dialogue, even when the things I write make me squinch my face up with shame. He just says stuff sometimes.

➐ Are there any people you’ve been to afraid of approaching?

NOPE! I’m not afraid to reach out. Approaching people is the easy part. You send a meme, you make an ooc comment, you tag them in something, you hit them with an ask or an IM or whatever. And if they don’t answer that’s a-okay! Their choice, I’m not hurt or personally offended. What I’m afraid of is what happens after that part if they do answer. I can usually BS a thread until I find the point of the thing but IMs and asks? Y I K E S ! Now there’s an expectation for me to be cool and witty and have good ideas instead of just mediocre ones. Very scary. The reason I don’t send IMs.

➑ Give us a rough estimate: How much time have you spent on your graphics? (icons, theme, banners, promos, etc)

My icons/graphics are a visual representation of me learning to use G.I.M.P. and I think you can... very clearly see the learning curve. More effort went into those old fuzzy icons I have than the new, crisp ones. Plus moodboards and other stuff? My guess is 40+ hours.

➒ Got any memorable threads on here? Care to mention a few?

Well now I wish I had thread tags. Thread tags would be a lifesaver right now. Anyway, I am once again shouting out @awaywardboy-andhisangel and our original GabexDean thread that has since spiraled and gotten very, very interesting (it’s not over, I just like it). And @divinitatemxsanguis who has allowed me to indulge in writing Gabriel with Loki post all the betrayl and murder. They have a special place in my heart so thanks for not judging me! I’m getting ready to write the conclusion/endcap to a sad thread with @isclcphobics involving Talia, Gabriel, and a grave. Plus the thread with @downwillow where Gabriel is human and Micheal has forgotten him. And a shoutout to @daedaluscried for our thread series that I have affectionately dubbed the ‘The Nanny’ series ft. October and Gabriel. Every thread has been a delight.

I also have some stuff I’m really looking forward to getting into, specifically with @hellsmother, @cursebcund, and @magaprima.

➓ What were some of the most frustrating moments you had with your muse’s interaction with another muse?

One that’s on me: sometimes I know that a moment in a thread calls for some emotional vunerability, and often when those times roll around the Gabriel voice I use to write dialogue goes all quiet and resistant and just wants to make jokes. And either one of two things happens, either I write the joke and cringe because I know now the thread is going to go way off track because obviously the other character won’t be thrilled/is about to shut down and shut up. Or I force some emotional vunerability out of him and it never quite sounds right to me. Sometimes it’s natural, but sometimes he just won’t do the thing and it frustrates me!

One that I’ve encountered from someone else: sometimes people will try to force a certain motivation or trait on my Gabriel based on their perception of canon/a past interaction they’ve had with another Gabe as portrayed by another RPer. This really grinds my gears because if you want a Gabriel with that motivation to critique/praise/fight with then go find one! I garantee someone out there plays him that way! There are a lot of us out here doing this! I’m not going to change my portrayl for you!!

I do not claim to own or have created this character, though the headcanon posts you see here are of my own interpretation of this character and events. PASSWORDS:

Due to my social anxiety, I don't have a password in these rules, nor do I send them in. I read everybody's rules and pages before following and usually before interacting.

ACTIVITY:

This is my main blog, which means that I am on it most of the time. However, I do suffer from some mental disorders, namely anxiety, depression, and OCD. These tend to affect how I interact ooc and can make me overly distant sometimes, and it's usually nothing anybody has done to me but my own mind running off on it's own about things. So, I do apologize for that. I may be absent from blogs during bad periods or make a couple posts here and there that I always delete after an hour or two stating that I'm in a bad way. Everything will be tagged.

HIGH HONOR:

Please note that I base my characterization off my raw play of this game, in which Arthur is HIGH HONOR and you may see more of that toward the end of his main verse. However, I still play him as a morally grey individual, especially as he’s trying to find his own mind on things in a way, but ultimately he leans more toward honorable moral choices (or what are considered honorable for the life he leads). He will do both good and bad things. At his point in time, I’m not exactly leaning towards adding a low honor verse, as his portrayal within the fandom has turned me off completely and after playing that route myself, I don’t really see much reason to. However, that may change if I end up finding a way to put a spin to that.

BLOG & PERSONAL TRIGGERS:

Please note that I don't have many triggers myself outside of suicide and overly anxiety inducing content (jumpscares, purposely paranoia inducing posts, etc).

There are some themes that I would like to avoid writing about in detail or at all. Namely, I WILL NOT write out anything like incest (the John/Arthur ship tends to fall into this category for me, along with Arthur/Dutch and Arthur/Hosea, so I will say that it's a NOTP for me), abuse (outside of mentions in regards to backstory, all forms), pedophilia, and rape. Also, I should note on a personal side that pregnancy can make me a little uncomfortable due to some gender stuff with me. I don't mind mentioning it, nor do I mind parental relationships when it comes to Arthur and sometimes outright adopting children in certain verses, but threads and interactions solely based off pregnancy can make me uncomfortable. It's difficult to explain but I would like to avoid it. Really, when in doubt, just ask.

This blog does and may contain triggering material, due to the nature of this game and the character. The biggest ones that will be present here are violence, guns/shooting, crime, and illness. I should also note that, due to the fact that this game takes place in 1899, there may be some triggers related to the views of this time period. Arthur himself is rather progressive and doesn't hold those views himself, but that doesn't mean the people around him don't and may be referenced in threads. Everything will be tagged as I catch it and where needed.

This game has been out for at least a year now. I will not be tagging for spoilers anymore, so please follow or read at your own risk if you are working through the game for the first time.

WRITING, SPEED, and NSFW:

My general writing style is paragraph/paragraphs. I don't mind one-liners but I usually only reserve those for starters that I’m writing and I tend to expand on the length of those as I go. I format my posts, mostly just some minimal spacing, small text (not sub), and all-caps words, bold, and italic usage. If this bothers anybody or makes it hard to read, please let me know and I can continue our thread in a non-formatted way. I also use icons, but I will follow my partner's lead on iconless rps. I can also be a little long-winded with my replies but you aren't obligated to match that. As long as I don't get like three sentences back to five paragraphs, we're all good.

I'm a slow rper. It may take me a day or two to get around to things, both asks, threads, and messages. I don't mind a nudge here and there but if it feels like you're pressuring me, I will warn you and block if it continues.

I'm 24, the muse is 36 in his main verse. We are both over the age in regards to nsfw. Smut is kind of rare for me and I don't do it often on Tumblr, however if we're in a ship and you want to write that over Discord, I may be open to it. That said, too, I will ONLY write nsfw with people and muses who are OVER 18. There is no exception to this. That noted, too, Arthur's in his 30's so a massive age gap may not appeal to him much either.

SHIPPING:

I’m going to sound like a hardass but: I am a highly selective shipper on here, and the ships that do appear on this blog are ones I have had for quite some time. Everything of a romantic nature will need to be discussed with me and the chemistry has to be there for me to agree to shipping. I’m not an insta-shipper, nor am I accepting to pre-established romantic relationships outside of those in canon. They will need to be discussed with me like every other ship and may be subject to me disagreeing to do it. Otherwise, I am multi-ship, despite being highly selective, and I’m fine with discussing them but please be aware of this.

FOLLOWING, DRAMA, AND DUPLICATES:

I will usually give someone a day or two of active posting after following before I unfollow if I don't receive one back. I don't mean anything personal by that, I'm simply making sure I don't accidentally like or send anything in if we aren't mutuals. That said, too, I am selective with who I do follow. If you're a sideblog and you don't have that blog easily accessible on your main blog or you don't message me about it, I'm likely going to miss it. I don't follow rp blogs that are run more like personals if only to keep my dash slower. Also, generally, if our writing styles don't mesh, you're rude to me, or you post nasty things, I will likely unfollow/block/or not follow back.

I don’t interact with or reblog callout posts. I don't have great patience with ooc drama and will likely unfollow if there is a lot of it being posted by you.

Following and being followed by duplicates (other Arthurs) is completely fine with me. However, with the mentality sometimes, I won't go out of my way to follow first if only to avoid making anybody uncomfortable by me doing so. I'm also non-exclusive for general interactions, so multiples of the same character I am fine with. I may take mains, however, which means these blogs get priority over plots and focus in headcanons, etc.

CROSSOVERS AND ORIGINAL CHARACTERS:

I'm crossover friendly so long as I know the character/fandom. That said, if I just can't get into it or make it fit, I won't force it.

I love original characters and you guys are cool with me, however I do need to see at least some stats or a verse we can interact in before I follow/follow back. I'm also fine with your OC knowing Arthur in their backstory but, again, romantic stuff needs to be talked over with me first.

STARTER CALLS:

I've found that I don't enjoy doing starter calls. I may do them here and there when the urge strikes, but the best way to interact with me is to message me or continuing memes sent or sent to me. I'm also more than happy to like other starter calls, too, if you want to throw them my way.

//Hi there!! Thank you so much for trusting me to answer this question! I kinda suck at explaining things, but I’ll give it my best shot :D

I’ve indeed been rping for 13-ish years now (about 8 of those have been here on tumblr). Some of the things I’ve learned about rp over the years have been through trial and error while also discovering my own working patterns and learning to work with my partners, sometimes only through basic rp etiquette, while some others by talking things out with my partners. [I’m putting the rest under a read more for length reasons ;;;]

When it comes to inspiration, it can vary, and it might sometimes depend on the muse. One of the things I’ve come to find that helps me the most for both inspiration and actual writing and keeping myself focused is music. My muses have always worked as “minds of their own” (if that makes any sense?), so they tend to react to the same music in different ways than the rest of their “muse-brothers”. In Robert’s case, I usually just need some nice melodies, catchy tunes or just a tune/lyrics that catches his attention or conveys a feeling and actually makes him feel something to have him react to it, while it was different for some of my previous muses, as some would literally refuse to cooperate at all if the music was just not their type (like, say, playing ‘loud’ types of music for a muse who has sensitive ears, for example).

Reading is also another great source for inspiration, whether it is fanfiction, a book, sometimes even stuff from magazines, or historical and period typical stuff (some of the headcanons and stories and whatnot I’ve written for Robert have come from reading about stuff from his time), and so on, but it can sometimes depend on the sort of muse you have. Same happens with looking through fanarts and doujinshi, or even talking about the character(s) with someone else. I’ve seen plenty of my partners throughout the years draw ideas and inspiration for some of their AUs from a fanart they saw somewhere, or a comic they read (just make sure to ask for permission if you do this and to, at least, give proper credits to the original author!).

Another one that can be helpful when you feel like you’re losing your character’s voice is looking at their source material, whether they come from an anime, a manga, a videogame, or what have you. Revisiting their source material usually helps a lot, for you can sometimes find things you hadn’t noticed before, or see some you may have forgotten about, and so on. Studying your muse’s canon (esp if you’re aiming to keep them close to canon) and their motivations can be super helpful. If you’re aiming for something “canon divergent”, then you can use their canon as a base as to what paths not to follow and deviate from it in any way you want to and explore their reasonings and motivations in this new canon you’re writing for them.

Doing research can help too. Like I mentioned just above, some of the stuff I’ve written for Robert here and on my fanfics and metas and headcanons has come after doing some research about things from his time, and it was similar with some of my previous muses. One of them was a bat youkai, for example, so I’d often draw ideas from bats’ behavior and adapt them to his character. He was also a bandit who knew how to fight using scythes (kusarigama, more specifically), so some of the ideas and inspiration I’d draw would come from reading about a bandit’s lifestyle, especially those from his fandom/universe as well as learning about youkai behavior in his universe, as well as watching videos of people using similar weapons to his, reading about historical usage of said weapons and so on.

Developing some your muse’s already existing relationships with other characters can help too, as they can help you see and understand better some sides of your muse that you might not have considered before (though you might need to discuss this with a partner who rps the other muse involved first if you ever want to include that in a rp, as not everyone has the same hcs). Using that bat youkai muse I mentioned earlier as an example again, I’d often explore his only canon relationship he had with another youkai, thinking of the different scenarios that ended up bringing them together, their reasons and their motivations to stick together and so on. There’s very little about this muse in his canon, so there were huge gaps to fill and a lot of room for headcanons, really, and while I had my own hcs, some of the peeps I rped with had different ones, so it was always a matter of discussing certain things first so things could go down smoothly.

Speaking of headcanons, sometimes just wanting to fill “plot holes” or exploring things that just were never fully explored or explored at all in the canon can also serve as inspiration.

In other cases, you can find inspiration/motivation through different means. Sometimes even just by wanting to give a character the love and attention they need, which was the case of the first muse I ever had (he was a “not so popular” character from an already “not so popular” animanga). And it was also part of what made me swallow my sheer nervousness and anxiety when I first started Robert’s blog, too, as I’d often see all those misconceptions about his character going around and being taken as canon, so I really wanted to change that and make people see him for who he is. But, again, it really depends on each case.

Going out for walks, or even just travelling on the bus on your way home, and looking at the world around you can help get those ideas working. So I would ultimately suggest doing some trial and error with both, the things you know or feel like might help, as well as trying those you don’t have much hope in. You might end up finding they actually work for you!

As for a thread’s end, it depends entirely on the thread and the partner you have that thread with, if it was plotted or not and so on. If it was plotted, there’s a chance you and your partner have discussed the details of it, sometimes including the end of it, or where you wanted the thread to go. In that case, you will be able to tell more “easily” when the thread is coming to an end. For “wing it” or unplotted threads, there might be times you will be able to tell when the thread comes to an end since there might not be much else for the muses to do in it. It can happen after a few replies in, it can happen after several, it depends on the type of thread but, in the end, it will be a matter of having some communication with your partner. Most of them will tell you when they feel the thread has come to an end, even if it’s only through the tags. Sometimes a simple “i think this is a good closure for the thread. what do you think?” does the trick, for it conveys the idea while also requesting some input from your partner (in case they still want to continue the thread, have more ideas for it, and so on). Just keep in mind that there might be plenty of times when threads will get dropped without a notice, and this is pretty normal in rp in general, for sometimes one (or both) partner(s) lose interest in the thread, and that’s alright. The thing about rp is exploring different scenarios for the muses involved. Some will work, some might not. The key is to continue exploring new ideas, or maybe similar ideas but with different muses as this can lead to (sometimes vastly) different outcomes.

And I get you about getting burned out. It’s quite common to go through that when you run a rp/ask blog or literally any other blog that requires periodical updating, and especially through some difficult times like those we’re living in now with all the stuff going on around the world, however, you need to ALWAYS keep in mind that these blogs and rping and creating content in general is something you do as a hobby. The moment you start treating it as a job or a chore and that you “have to update” is the moment you need to take a step back before this sucks all the fun out of it. It’s okay if you can manage to reply everyday, or as soon as a partner posts a reply to your thread, but it’s also okay to take your time with things and to work and reply at your own pace. It’s okay to take some days off, just like it’s okay to just sometimes lurk in silence, or just be active ooc replying to ims and asks, or just reblogging stuff, or simply engaging in dashboard shenanigans and whatnot. Again, this is a hobby, meant to de-stress you, and it should always be treated as such so it doesn’t have the entire opposite effect.
