I tried to read Gotham Sirens because I really wanted to see Selina and the girlies, and because I've heard that it's really good, but I honestly couldn't get past the first issues.

I just can't make myself read it when every damn page looks like this:

Like, I get it, they're attractive characters, but there's no need to dedicate one of every three panels to a close up of their asses. I couldn't deal with the dissonance of "this is a story about three powerful and amazing women finding strength in their friendship" with "let's sexualize the hell out of them to the point where it's ridiculous".

"They don't need no man!.... but we're still going to show them through the male gaze" - The editors, probably.

We're fucked as a nation. Forcing people to have children and then not passing laws to help protect those children. What the fuck kind of sense does this make?? Learning how to be comfortable with being uncomfortable is important. I'm genuinely not okay when I hear, see, and research more about the genocide happening in Gaza, the history of Israel's founding, and its terroristic actions. It is important for me to know.

Taking short breaks (usually a couple of hours or so) does help when things get too much. Then, I return and continue engaging with reblogs on Palestine.
