oh my here we go.
so today Russian ‘court’ (and I will refer to any and governing body institutions in quotes because no, they hold no power, they were never elected, they are not mine, never have been and never will be) has declared LGBTQ+ outlaw. What it means? In short, every queer person in Russia is now in extreme danger.
It’s nothing new. The insane which hunt has begun a few years ago. Now of course the whole rhetoric is based on innate ignorance, homophobia, transphobia and hatred to anybody who’s not straight or holds ‘traditional values’ not to mention the desire of the ‘government’ to be so unlike ‘the west’, it’s a classic we vs them type of propaganda. For them it’s a tool. Keeping people frightened is a tool. Don’t think for a second that they are doing it based on some sort of belief system. No. They don’t have it. Which is much worse. They’re doing it as a last resort. You see, no matter what the media is telling you (yes your media is lying to you too? that’s what it’s meant to do now, it’s coming from someone with a degree in journalism), there’s no actual way to know how many people support or don’t support the war. Any and all ‘statistics’ you might see or hear are extremely inaccurate. Why? Well let’s see! 1) If it’s a state controlled media, it’s obvious: they want the world to see the perfect picture of a ‘strong Russia’ which they know is not true, and since ALL the media that operates in Russia IS state controlled, they’re out of the question. 2) Let’s take any international media then you say, they’re no better. Why? Well let’s see! They have no reliable sources as well. Any polls you see hold no value. People are scared and silenced, no one will truthfully answer the ‘do you support the war on Ukraine and putin’ truthfully because they know they can go to jail, hell, they will lie if they have to. So yes, even information from reliable media isn’t reliable. Clear? Clear.
Now. Why it’s important. Because the ‘laws’ that are being enforced, are a clear sign that nothing is like it seems. The unrest is clear, from all sides as well: those who oppose the war and those who support (they’re not really happy which makes me happy, suck it) and the ‘government’ has to go to extreme lengths to please the second group and to uphold the idea of stability and ‘having it under control’. They know they can’t stop those striving for peace, they’ve already done everything to ensure people don’t speak up - from jailing them to making them flee, to kidnapping, to murdering them - and people still do.
The regime is crumbling. It’s something to keep in mind. The signs are there. They’re running around like headless chickens and trying to something. If you don’t know, they’re trying to abolish women’s rights to abortions, it’s going quite successfully for them, as state after state is creating ‘laws’ banning them. Their hunt of LGBTQ+ people came to the grand conclusion today. The peak of their evil. It’s crumbling but people will suffer and many will have their mental and physical health destroyed in the process. It’s not the price anyone should pay but it’s a small, tiny silver lining for all my Russian queers: don’t give up, hold on, stay safe. If you don’t feel save, please don’t feel pressured to do anything that might put you in danger. We need you healthy and free. You’re not alone, as much as they want you to think otherwise.
You’re loved, you’re cherished, you’re important. ❤️

I had an interview scheduled for today at 11AM. I went in at 10:45, and the front desk clerk told me that the position had been filled before I even applied. I asked why the manager would schedule me for an interview if the job was never available, and she told me that the manager didn't; the "person" I had been talking to for the past 2 days was an AI program, not a human. The system automatically schedules interviews for everyone who applies, no matter how old the job listing is.
WHAT KINDA BULLSHIT FUCKERY IS THAT?!?

So the Netherlands, which prides itself on being a "progressive country" in terms of social security and human rights...
...just had (one of) the most far-right parties win the most votes.

Aether: Need a laugh? Missouri set up a hotline for snitching on trans people, and it was SO overrun with pranksters clogging the thing up with false reports and other random bullshit 24/7 that they had to shut it the fuck down! Terzo: *Addressing the congregation* You have done well, my children! Papa is proud of you all!

We're fucked as a nation. Forcing people to have children and then not passing laws to help protect those children. What the fuck kind of sense does this make?? Who in their right mind thinks this all makes sense?? They said they overruled it because nowhere in the constitution did it mention abortions. Do you know how many "modern" things were probably NOT mentioned in fucking 1788 (constitution ratification date). That was over 200 freaking years ago!!!!!! Women didn't even have basic rights 200 years ago. POC weren't considered under the "all men are created equal" statement. Over 200 years ago segregation & slavery were still legal (the former having been outlawed not even 100 years ago, 58 to be specific). 200 years ago people like me didn't fucking matter, and it's bullshit that 200 years later, it's still the same situation. People can now be denied an abortion. We're going back in time. And that's fucking insane.

The United Kingdom just been downgraded on the global index of civic freedoms due to it's "Hostile" and "Increasingly authoritarian" actions.
I live in the UK. And I found this out by factchecking a green peace ad. As of now this story was posted 16 hours ago and I've not heard one person talk about this.
Our government is officially recognised as repressing civic freedoms and undermining human rights. If you're still proud to be brittish then fuck you tory scum.

Also y'all forget that there are rural queer people and rural BIPOC that have to deal with the ignorance that comes from having a lack of infrastructural support. Like calling someone uneducated should be an insult to the American education system, not them. Not justifying bigotry but yeah.

I hope everyone who peddles "adults doing adult things in their own adult spaces are dangerous to minors" to know that this is the EXACT fucking justification for this, taken to its logical, bigoted conclusion.

Feel so dysregulated and heavy today.
The news of the nonbinary teen killed by their bullies in Oklahoma, which spiraled into fucking hating this country with its meaningless "laws" and supposed "rights," with goddamn people in power killing marginalized folks, whether sexism, racism, homophobia or all of the above, here or abroad. Which further spiraled into lack of safety and our fucked up routine with sessions and check-ins, once again bringing up T's old office and fucking Zoom sessions and "less than."
T kept me over a bit because I was so wound up, yelling by the end. This is when I wish I could record him because he was so validating and caring, but I can't remember his wording. Basically that I am okay, that we are okay and will still work together, that these changes to routine do not mean "less than" even though it feels like it, that my ongoing dysregulation around his office does not mean he is kicking me out the door (when I thought he was suggesting I see another therapist a few sessions ago). He said we need to keep talking about this and processing it. I told him the dysregulation comes up every session, every week (to some degree). Nodding, he said then we will discuss it every session, every week if need be. He knows how hard this still is and doesn't want to diminish my feelings. But, feeling this dysregulated all the time isn't good either.
Just exhausted and want to crawl into a hole and hide from everything.

Every day I open my news app, and am blasted with headline upon headline about how a not insignificant part of the country is actively trying to push us into fascism.
I feel like I'm being boxed slowly into a corner. Even though I live in a blue state, it just feels inevitable at this point that the U.S. is going to collapse completely into a dictatorship. If it doesn't happen at this election, it'll be the next. Or the one after that. Republicans are not going to stop, and the Democrats are just rolling over, crowing on and on about "bipartisanship" and not doing anything truly conductive to actually stopping it.
I want off this ride. I'm tired of living in a place where everyone is so hateful to one another. I'm tired of being in constant fear that something as simple as cutting someone off accidentally in traffic could get me shot. I'm tired of the constant stress over knowing I'm one significant injury or illness away from homelessness. I'm tired of being unable of afford to live on my own as I approach my mid-twenties. I don't want to stick around to be turned into fucking breeding stock, which is what so many of these Bible-thumping pieces of shit have made clear is their ultimate goal.
But it is so hard to immigrate to another country, and every time I seriously think about it I feel like I'm about to die from stress. I don't even know if I will actually be able to realistically get a job where I ideally want to move to. And leaving would mean effectively abandoning all of my loved ones into the absolute violent, hateful hellscape that the U.S. has transformed into. But at the same time I legitimately feel that I need to get out of this country ASAP for my own safety.
Sorry this is such a bleak post. I just got hit with such a strong feeling of depression and hopelessness today and I needed to get it out somewhere.

Never forget that corpos aren't people.
Your boss is not your ally.
Your employer doesn't care if you live or die because all that matters to them is their goddamn bottom line.
